The Mirror King, Jodi Meadows – 4/5 stars

Ok let me how much I loved this book because I loved it. It was honestly great. I meant to read this like a year ago but got distracted and didn't even pick it up and I really regret not reading it earlier. It almost hurts that the series is already over. I love the characters of Wil, Tobiah, and James who are probably the three I also care about the most. This book was great because Wil has to do a lot more growing as a character and as a leader for her Ospreys and for her people; she also has to deal with the reflection that Patrick's actions have had on her and that takes a lot of strength to rise above it all. Um, Tobiah is the love of my life. For serious. He is amazing as Black Knife and as a ruler, he is so much stronger and compassionate than we're initially led to believe in the first book. He also has some ingenious plans that are amazing – which, I totally saw the big reappearance coming but it wasn't an less awesome because I was looking for it, mostly I was just relieved that she hadn't killed him off after everything. The big reveal about the M word though that was one I didn't even think of, so that was really exciting. The ending = tears. It was pretty cute and sometimes, you just need a fun, intriguing, story with a happy ending and minimal sacrifice (though, *sniff* ..James). I would've loved to see another book, with some other conflict they may have to overcome once their married or whatever, but this really wrapped everything up nicely. Also, can’t you just picture the pretty pretty aesthetic posts that could be made for the characters cause uGH I can. So, if you'll excuse me, I'm off to find more Jodi Meadows books.

I couldn’t read further on. I advise against starting to read this duology.
