Ideas for Black!Reader Fic
I am going to try my hand again at writing. And I wanted to share some people and fandoms that I love. If you don’t know these shows/actors/franchises/movies/streamers I’m putting you on! For the following:
Johnny Depp- All his characters
Cameron Monaghan- I know that there are fics out there but it’s only always his Jerome/Jeremiah roles never just him or Cal Kestis
Anthony Carrigan- I loved Anothy as Victor Zsasz
Paul Dano- There are Riddler fics but not as many for his other roles
The Entire Cast of Hawaii Five-0 (2010) - Don’t even get me started on how good this show is! And the cast looks amazing!
Chicago Med/Fire/PD- These shows have so much potential for fanfic storylines!
The Game (2006)- Has great potential for slow burns and fluffs.
Star Wars franchise (1977-present) - I know I said Cal Kestis but there are also other characters like Anakin, Luke, Obi Wan,Boba Fett (etc.)
NCIS franchise- I honestly love this franchise and it’s characters!
Hamilton
Any/All Sports Men- Jude Bellingham,Lewis Hamilton,LaMelo Ball,Allen Iverson(etc.)
Berleezy - He’s handsome and he’s funny!
Coryxkenshin- I literally love him and his videos!
Albert Aretz (Flamingo)- Look … he may be the epitome of mediocre white man but I like what I like!
AMP- Duke Dennis, Kai Cenat, Agent 00, ChrisNxtDoor,Davis, and Fanum ( all I gotta say is love a black man from infinity to infinity🗣️)
Beta Squad- A British YouTube/ streamer group!
SOMEBROS- Berleezy, Rico, ,PG, Joe (etc.)
WWE- come on now, do I even need to explain!!!
Four Brothers- All the cast but Garrett Hedland in particular!
Peacemaker - Don’t get me wrong I love Adrian Chase but I want to see just as much Peacemaker x black!reader fics because 2 words… JOHN CENA
MAWS- New animated Superman show! Love!
Smallville - The entire cast is hot! Tbh I fell hard for Tom Welling when I was younger when he was in Cheaper By The Dozen. Plus they literally whitewashed Vixen. COME ON! Vixen is a black female hero btw. She was also with Jon (Green Lantern) at one point.
Justice League/Justice League Unlimited (2001 and 2004)- I mean I literally can’t find any Jon Stewart x black!reader fics and he was with a BLACK WOMAN!
Warner Bros Franchise (minus the looney tunes & space jam)- There are lots of popular franchises that this company has from Fast & Furious to The Matrix!
Peaky Blinders- Saw a Tommy shelby x arms dealer black!female reader fic on my previous account but even then I couldn’t find it again on that account. So it’s gone with the wind. And the cast (i.e the actors and other characters they’ve portrayed). Example: Cillian Murphy as Johnathan Crane.
Tumblr media
The Bear
FBI (All)
Vinnie Hacker
Tiktokers
Blue Bloods
Will Poulter- I haven’t really seen any Adam Warlock fics
Slashers
Stranger Things
Dave Lizewski
Eddie Redmayne
Macgyver (2016)
Fresh Prince of Belair
Guardians of the galaxy- Explanation? Do I really need one?
On My Block
Descendants (characters will be the actors age in real life.duh)- Love Boo-boo Stewart & Mitchell Hope!
Matt Rife
Joey Bragg (Liv &Maddie) - What can I say I love dorks!
The Boys- Haven’t seen that many fics about the characters and a black reader
Once Upon A Time- I love dark fairytales sometimes because they remind me that not every story has a happy ending and you have to learn from them. But this series is good for any theme really.
Walker Texas Ranger (1993)
Top Gun
Magcon: Whether you saw their vines on YouTube or vine, you know who they are
Dolan Twins
Mission Impossible
Euphoria- Entire show has great storylines with the potential of drama in fics
Shameless- Especially Carl Gallagher and Lip Gallagher
Creed- Michael B Jordan need I say more
Keanu Reeves- There are very few fics about Keanu but I’ve seen a few of his John Wick x black!reader fics (chef’s kiss) but never see any of The Matrix Fics! Also Ted (Bill & Ted)
River Phoenix
Batman Beyond
Rider Strong
Danny Gonzalez
Timothée Chalamet
New York Undercover
Past-Present Singers & Rappers/ Groups -Bow Wow, Tupac, Lil Baby, Nelly, Omarion, Prince, Michael Jackson, Jon B,Usher, Central Cee, Måneskin, New Edition, BTS, James Bay(etc.)
Anime(Any kind!)- Would love to see other shows, I know hunterxhunter, aot, one piece (etc.)
Bridgerton- There is very little Bridgerton stories catered around a black reader.
Marvel- Now that’s not to say that there aren’t any in fact there are many but I never see (Tobey Maguire Spider-Man stories and it seems like everyone tends to focus on the famous Marvel characters like The Avengers but not on other aspects like X-men or better yet, heroes that haven’t even gotten their own movie but are just as amazing like Squadron Supreme , it’s equivalent to DCU’s Justice League.
Secret Invasion- Not gonna lie , I’m feening for Gravik.😳
DCEU- Another franchise that pushes its other characters to the side. For example, Hush (Thomas Elliot) is literally the epitome of Bruce Wayne gone bad!
Ross Lynch- There are so many roles that Ross did so well in Like Teen Beach Movie or Sabrina.
Highschool Musical Franchise (2006- present ) I’m not just talking about HSMTS (2019), I mean even further back than that. I don’t see any Troy Bolton x black!reader and that’s crazy. I also can’t find any Zac Efron x black!reader
Interview with a Vampire (1994) and (2022)
Austin Butler- He did well in his role as Elvis!
Vikings - There are a good amount but still!
Transformers
Suits
Saved By The Bell
The Goldbergs
Parks & Recreation
Leverage
The Outsiders
Heart of Stone
New York Undercover (1994)
Addams Family
Victorious
Matpat
ICarly
The Real Bros of Simi Valley (2017)
Think Like A Man (2012)
One on One (2001)
Scorpion (2014)
The King of Queens (1998)
G.I. Joe Franchise
Terminator
Beware the Batman (2013)
Any and all Asian Idols/Actors
Seal Team
Mortal Combat
Bill and Ted
Barbie
Detroit: Become Human
Will Trent
Tokyo Vice
Growing Pains
Graceful Family (Kdrama)[Any Asian Drama shows or movies would be great as well]
The Regime
Batman: The animated series
If anyone needs ideas for these franchises/movies/shows/actors , then holla at me! I got you!
Also add more to the list if anything that you would like to see comes to mind.
Also tag black writers who you want to see this!

I think I am gonna make a Media thread to share what I’ve played/watched this year. It looks like a fun thing to do! (Copied from my Twitter thread)
Here’s what I experienced in 2023
Dark Souls 2 Scholar of the first sin:
While souls games tend to be frustrating for me, they are also brilliant experiences, and I had a ton of fun with DS2! The Halbert in this game specifically is my favorite weapon in the entire series as of rn.
Neon White:
I hope everyone finds a game that fits their taste as well as Neon White fits mine. One of my new favorite games with such a satisfying sense of flow and rhythm that I couldn’t put it down till I got a gold medal on every stage.
Tumblr media
Puss in Boots: The Last Wish:
I loved the TV show they did so I wasn’t totally surprised but this exceeded my expectations. Gorgeous art style, fluid animation, compelling characters, and the most intimidating animated movie villain in a long time make this a winner in my book!
Bocchi the Rock Season 1:
IT’S SO CUTE AND FUN OMG!!!! A really heartfelt and well realized story with an absolute banger soundtrack. I loved every single character and every single episode so much, it’s truly an amazing show!
Tumblr media
Elden Ring:
This game is scary in how good it is. It’s massive, intensely difficult, detailed, and beautifully crafted. It’s so much that I’m inclined to say it’s too much. But too much of a masterpiece is still a masterpiece. I’m carrying this victory with me for a long time.
Tumblr media
Transistor:
Holy wow, I haven’t been surprised by a game like this in awhile! It’s an extremely well designed tactical action game with an unconventional narrative structure and absolutely killer visuals and music. I’ll definitely consider returning for another run later on!
Summer Wars:
An absolute rollercoaster of a movie. I really enjoyed the family dynamic and the different ways the story unfolded. It wasn’t what I expected at all and I think it was better for it. The visual design is incredible too! It’s very pleasant to look at. A fun movie!!
Tumblr media
Journey:
I’ve rarely seen a game so perfectly titled. It was a true journey. It was an experience that was unique to me and my own playthrough. That’s what I think is truly special about this game. The people you meet and the way you progress while linear is truly your own
John Wick 4:
Absolutely lives up to the quality of this series. John wick continues to impress me with its action choreography and cinematography. This entry specifically has a strong set of side characters, some excellent music compositions, and amazing settings. Loved this one!
Portal 2 (Co-op):
I played the single player years ago but I finally got to finish the co-op campaign and it was a blast!!! Portal is one of if not the most satisfying puzzle games I’ve played. Reminds me how much of a classic this one is. Shoutout to my cousin for joining me!
Dungeons and Dragons: Honor Among Thieves:
A really enjoyable action comedy movie! It did a good job capturing the dynamic of a dnd party. A super fun time with genuine humor, great performances all around, and the appropriate amount of chaos for a movie in the dnd universe.
The Super Mario Bros Movie:
A solid film! The Music stole the show for me, Peach and Bowser were huge highlights and Luigi and Toad had great performances too! I was disappointed by the Kongs voices but it’s a film with a lot of love for the series in there! Peach is great btw💕
The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom :
This game somehow impresses today in the same way botw does. The improvements rocket this game into the stratosphere. While i suffered the same fatigue I did with Elden ring at the end, I also found myself in awe almost the entire time
Tumblr media
Spider Man: Across the Spiderverse :
I um, don’t know what to say. Visual feast, extremely compelling plot, character work that hit so so hard, an animated movie the likes of which I’ve never seen. Just incredible
Barbie Movie:
It was so incredibly fun. I had a good few laughs and it had really compelling characters. Very appropriately campy with the depth to back up the camp. A well made film
Cassette Beasts:
What a fantastic game. It recaptured the magic I haven’t felt since playing Pokémon platinum for the first time. It’s battle system is so engaging, story filled with mystery, characters absolutely lovely, and a world that is just the right size for exploring. 💕

First Time Watches of 2023 (3/3)
Tumblr media
SILENT NIGHT - The idea of a Christmas apocalypse film where everyone dies was immediately appealing to my mother and I because our family sucks. That Jojo Rabbit kid is fucking stellar, made me sob.
Tumblr media
THE THING - practical effects 💖. Just such a solid film, again another tumblr recommendation I really wanted to tick off, the descent into distrust, the tension, the stakes, sexy Kurt Russell; yeah, 10/10.
Tumblr media
LADYHAWKE - Everything about this was made for me except for that excruciatingly 80s score - get that sound outta here! Matthew Broderick is incredibly endearing as Phillipe “the mouse”, i absolutely adore him. The curse is brilliant - and hell, that scene with the transformation as they lie beside each other - MAN! I just wish that instead of telling us about the priest’s curse, and him summoning the devil or whatever, we’d been able to see it. Even if it had just been shadows on the wall, or a semi-animated sequence - would’ve added a little extra.
Tumblr media
TREASURE PLANET - My friend Hannah had recommended this to me a decade ago and I’m very sorry it took a literal decade to get to it. The most I knew about Jim Hawkins was that people that made non/disney amvs back in the 2000s/2010s shipped him with Ariel, those Jelsa bitches don’t even know how bad it was. Anyway, this film was gorgeous, oh my god? And while I hate “I need a father figure” plots this one was well-written and genuinely moving. Great ensemble, tho the robot played by Martin Short feels unnecessarily jammed in.
Tumblr media
THE LION IN WINTER - Numerous mutuals have posted about this; god, I’m so glad. This was another one I picked up a DVD of in my favourite antique place. KATHERINE HEPBURN. is everything. This whole thing was…insane…Shakespearean delivery for dialogue that is 90% fitting and then 10% bizarre. Timothy Dalton hot asf. Anthony Hopkins really using his eyes. All the Eleanor & Henry scenes are of course, absolute highlights - i love it when people just lie to each other, and between all of that, reveal their devastating truths - but what struck me most, and has stayed with me, is the three princes locked in the dark dungeon, reduced to little boys by the violent whims of their father & the schemes of their mother. a manipulator, a warrior, and, well, john, utterly powerless. Bizarre & entertaining.
Tumblr media
THE BOY AND THE HERON - Saw this today, it was visually stunning; Mahito is a strong character and his VA is great; Mark Hamill delivers, but Christian Bale is wobbly, his accent fluctuating. The character of the Heron is a real highlight and wow, kudos to RPats. Love the world this film creates. Kiriko is my new fave ghibli woman. Dreamlike, mournful, fantastical, tugs on the heartstrings, enjoyable but actually made me appreciate Spirited Away more, which has never been one of my favourites but now I really wanna rewatch. Spoiler, btw, if you’re like that: when the tower started crumbling I started welling up because it just felt like a goodbye from Miyazaki, and I don’t even idolise him; it just really feels like his heart, and the heart of all the animators, was in this, and by god I appreciate that.
oh and a shout out to john wick 4, the peter cushing version of dracula, puss in boots the last wish & spiderverse 2, which were all pretty great! I have had a great time with movies this year.

“Honey, I'm home!” Stan says in a louder voice so his loved one could hear him. For she's known to often leave music playing loudly through their apartment and go into another room to do something. He hears the smooth voice of Billie Holiday singing about autumn in New York and he smiles to himself, kicking off his shoes. The music is loud enough for her not to hear him at all.
He walks into the kitchen, both hands holding a grocery bag tightly until he puts them both on the center counter. Her music is playing right in front of him, just a few feet between him and the sound system.
“Baby!” He calls again. Stan leaves the bags be and they crinkle a bit, the products falling on top of one another. He walks over to the sound system and turns the song's volume down. And he hears her humming. It's coming from her study.
Stan jogs a little down the hallway to get to her and reaches the door frame of her study. He peaks his head in. “Babylove,” he says and smiles immediately upon seeing his girl sitting on her carpet, her back turned to him, still humming and obviously hunched over something.
She whips her head around and smiles wide. There's a wicked glimmer in her eyes. “Honey!” She squeals and hurriedly gets up from her position, almost falling over her own legs, and tip-toes over to her one and only.
He leans in to steal a kiss from her soft angel lips and she still has to stand on her tip-toes for him to succeed. She embraces him then, her arms around his neck, and smiles wide. Stan recieves a loving kiss on the cheek and smiles, too. His eyes are full of love for the woman in front of him.
“What are you doing in here?” He asks, his hand going in slow circles over her back.
“Before you turned my music down,” she says, pouting and pointing her index finger into the middle of his chest, “I was listening to Billie and making another small sculpture.” She smiles, proud of herself.
“You're getting inspired again?” Stan raises his eyebrows in happy surprise and his love nods, biting her bottom lip. “So, who's the muse?”
“You, silly.” She says and they both laugh. She notices Stan already glancing behind her shoulder to see what she's making. To not spoil the surprise, she brings his eyes back to her, holding his chin softly. “It's not finished yet. When it will be, you'll be the first to see. And you know that.”
“Of course. You know I'm impatient about seeing your art.” He tells her and tickles her sides a little, making her giggle in the most beautiful way.
“So,” she claps her hands, “what are we making tonight?”
“Hmm, let's see...” Stan pretends to think, “seeing as I bought the ingredients for lasagna, I guess we're making... lasagna?” He squints, teasing his girl. She laughs and kisses him on the cheek again. And then all over his face, which makes Stanley laugh instead.
When he's about to plead for breath, she stops and grabs his hand, closing her study door with the other. She drags them both back down the hallway and lets go of Stan's hand to turn the volume higher. Stan gives her a mock-annoyed look, but they both laugh.
One of the billion, trillion things he loves so much about his girl is her energy and youthfulness. They're only two years apart, but Stanley has always felt older than he actually is. And he wanted to enjoy his youth when it was happening, but a lot of things kept him from it.
Her youthfulness and eagerness and sort-of hyperactivity brings joy in his life. Makes him happy about still being here, having a life. She's brighter than the sun to him in many ways.
“Do you have the recipe?” Stan asks her as they're unpacking the groceries.
“Uh-huh, I printed it out. It should be next to the sink.” She replies, pulling tomato after tomato out of the bag.
“Terrible place for a paper to be, if you ask me.” He tells her, but she only laughs. Stan walks over to the sink and sure enough, there is a page with a recipe printed on it. And it's not wet. He quickly goes over the ingredients and steps. “So how was work today?”
She works as a museum manager/administrator in a pottery museum in town. Taking that she's an artist herself, she needs to be in an artistic place and area at all times. An administrator might not seem like the job to you, but to her it's the perfect one that pays the bills and takes her on holidays with her loved one. Many artists to meet, artworks to see and inspiration to suck in.
“Quite amazing. You know I met that one artist I've always wanted to host at my museum—”
“Emily Lacey?” Stan finishes instead of her. She nods.
“Yup. And she's even more lovely than I thought she'd be. She's got great sense of humor, a great sense of style, of course, and turns out we have a lot in common.” She tells him. Stan smiles, watching her rush around the kitchen and talk. “She likes to read books, go to the cinema, travelling, hiking.”
“Wow, you two are basically twins.” He states.
“I know, right?” She looks at him with wide eyes, clearly excited. Stanley chuckles. “How was your day?” She asks him.
“It was good.” He says. “Better now that I'm home.” Stan states and they share a look of love and knowing. “The book is coming along well, there's not much left. And I had to teach a new class today! All the kids were sweethearts.”
“How old were they?” She asks and, while doing so, gives Stan a piece of dough to flatten out. They both start working on a piece.
“Uh, they're... I think second or third grade, so eight to nine.” Stan says in between grunts of pushing the wooden roll on the dough. “Why such a question?”
She shrugs. “Just wondering. Thought they'd put you in a college now.” She admits, and huffs.
“Huh.” He turns to her, puts the roll down and crosses his arms over his chest. “Don't you think I'm good enough for primary school?”
She laughs and huffs again. “No, I think you're more than good enough for primary school, and better than perfect for teaching college kids ornithology.” She tells him, honestly.
“Listen, it's nothing wrong with me.” Stan insists, pointing at his chest and raising his eyebrows. “Ornithology is not the most desired class in college, even for biology majors. So they have one professor in each college that isn't exactly an ornithologyst, but knows enough and can memorise texts from books. And they put that guy to teach ornithology if it's at all necessary.” He explains in detail.
“But that is so unfair! I bet you're not the only ornithologyst without a chance to teach in college, and they put some knock-offs in your place.” She justifies.
“You have a fair point.” Stanley agrees. She smiles wide.
“I know. You gotta fight for your rights, hon.” She tells him. “We both know that your passion is ornithology and that you're an actual ornithologyst. They should let, whoever's in charge of it, the people who really know what they're talking about teach ornithology. It makes a huge difference for the kids.”
“Listen, if your artist carrier ever flakes, you should become an education politican.” Stan says upon restarting to flatten the dough. His love laughs out loud, holding her tummy. Stanley only smiles wide to himself.
“Can you even imagine me dressed in formal clothes everyday, having that politician-lady haircut, wearing glasses and talking in a very serious voice about the issues of today?” She asks him, mimicking the way politicians speak in the last part. She even makes a funny face. “I could never. I mean, yeah, they pay you like, crazy money, but I'd never do that.” She shakes her head, still quietly laughing to herself. Stanley keeps smiling.
Merely two hours later, the couple have finished their lasagna. They had put on their food-making playlist, which is basically a playlist full of songs that they know all the lyrics to and sing together to at the top of their lungs. Includes ABBA, Queen, David Bowie, Journey, Elton John and many, many others.
They're happily setting the coffee table in the living room, and they're almost finished. Stan is already turning on the TV, wrapped in a blanket and waiting for his one and only to join him.
She's still getting them forks and spoons, and when she has, she turns off all the lights in the apartment. Except for the little light in the kitchen above the stove, that one always stays on.
She tip-toes—a habit of hers that is not entirely healthy for her feet—into the living room and puts the instruments down on the table. She collapses into Stan's open, waiting arms with a happy sigh. He wraps the blanket around her and keeps his arm around her, too.
Her fingers push between his and they lock together. As if their hands were crafted just to be interlocked with the other's, no one else's. They feel like they're made for each other.
Stanley presses a kiss into her hair. “What are we watching tonight?” He asks, his cheek now pressed where his lips just were.
“Hmm,” she thinks and watches Stan browsing through movies and tv-shows on the screen, “something funny. Don't you think?”
“Yeah, we always watch dramas.” He agrees. “I'm kinda sick of you making me cry every other evening.” Stan admits then, and they both laugh. Stan yawns.
“Do you have a favorite?” She questions, looking up at him. He looks down at her and almost gets hypnotised. Looking at her makes him go a bit weak, every and anytime. The years spent together either don't do anything to help it or even give more to the effect.
“I don't watch that many comedies, not my favorite genre.” He tells her as his hand caresses the side of her face. She closes her eyes to that. “You can choose. Show me your favorite!” He suggests and she smiles. “Just not anything dumb, okay? I know you like those a lot, but, please, spare me.”
She looks at him and rolls her eyes playfully. “Alright, alright.” She agrees and turns to lay on her stomach, over Stan's lap and takes the remote from his hand. “I'll spare your soul from the doom of dumb comedy movies, my prince.” She teases and Stan smiles. “Aha!” She exclaims upon finally finding the movie she was looking for.
She pushes the 'play' button and reaches for their two plates of lasagna while the intro plays. She straightens her back, sitting normally just like Stan and giving him his lasagna piece.
“Hear ye, hear ye. Feast your eyes and ears with the wonder that is Bruce Almighty!” She theatrically introduces the movie. She likes Shakespeare and Old English, despite that she may not be the best at using it right. Stan smiles at her.
They lean in to steal a few kisses from each other before indulging in their home-made (hopefully, well-made) lasagna and the world of Jim Carrey's comedy.

episode origins p1
i was watching moriah earlier today and was wondering what the significance of the name moriah was, so i searched it up. i’ll explain it here in this. i wanted to learn which episodes have titles derived from pop culture, literature, etc. so i put together this list. it’s not complete, feel free to reblog with more!
why did i waste hours on my life on this, you ask? i don’t know.

JW 3: excommunication vs badassery -  WHO YA GOT?!
Well, I'm back here again talkin about John mother bleepin Wick; that must mean that people are messing with him again.
Tumblr media
In the 1st movie, we learn that John Wick belonged to a secret soceity of assassins, but he got out of the game, so he could properly grieve his dead wife. The only piece of that life he had was in a puppy, and some assholes came around and killed that puppy.
Tumblr media
A puppy! Not John Wick's old dog who had lived a full life and kinda wanted to go cuz he's seen too much shit - they killed John Wick's cute, innocent, lil puppy!
So, JW had to kill not only the people who killed his puppy (no no no no no),but everyone associated with them: family, friends, if you have ever delivered a pizza to those scumbags, if you bagged their groceries, it was on!
He killed 3 guys who were involved in a bar once with a pencil! A PENCIL! Who does that?! Who says to themselves "Man, I'm so mad that I'm gonna go into that bar and kill three men with this number 2." Who?! An unstable human being, that's who! I love him, but damn!
In the 2nd movie, they said , "John Wick has gone too far! Yeah, we killed your pup, but you didn't have to take out the our whole community!" Soooo, they decided to take more of his stuff - they stole his car. They got Ruby Rose and Common after him to say "Look, John, we're square, let us take the car, we'll rough you up just a little bit... and let this all go."
Tumblr media
But, you already killed the man's puppy, now you gonna swipe his ride? What the hell is wrong with y'all?! You know who this man is!
Of course, John Wick had to kill off multiple gangs, along with Ruby and Common. For one night, the streets were literally painted red with blood. John Wick's killing went beyond cinema. Those actors haven't been the same since. Ruby Rose has given up movie making for the CW network, to make-out with women while dressed as a bat (not making that up) She figures she can hide in the CW.
Tumblr media
Look at her... she’d rather look ridiculous than be near anything John Wick related.
I don't think Common has put out any hit songs since that John Wick 2. The carnage that he saw in the production of that movie was mind-shattering.
They said  - "John Wick! That's it! We tried to square things up, but you wouldn't listen! Now, you're excommunicado!"
Now, in the church world, I know what excommunication means - no more Ritz crackers and wine for you, dirty stares when church folk see you at the market, they draw devil horns on your pic in the prayer list, and you're no longer invited to church picnic's, but they never send people out to beat yo ass. Can you imagine if church were that serious?? A pastor having a pack of assassins just waiting for you to disobey him/her. Maybe Russia would do that... seems like they might do church differently out there.
But, that's where we're at with “John Wick 3: Parabellum!”
He's been cast out of the fold! No one is allowed to help him. They cancelled his social media accounts, his gym and yoga memberships, and coupons at Whole Foods. They beat the hell out of him. Told him he’s got one hour until certain horrible death. Took ALL his shit! He's done!
In John Wick's time of need there are only two people that he can turn to. Two people who haven't totally turned their backs on him - Halle Berry and that woman from "The Addams Family"; good ol what's her face.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
So, he's off (though a bit beaten up and bloody), to murder everyone in his path to finding these two people. It's like a video game in a sense - there should be an action total at the end of each scene:
112 dead
52 shots to the head
34 broken limbs 432 bullets fired 40 gallons of blood spilled
10 dicks and 7 balls chomped on by Halle Berry's dogs
Number of New Yorkers freaked out by all of this (0)
He kills people with a horse! No joke!
And a book - at one point John Wick destroys a giant of a man: busts up his ribs, his knees, his shins, his kidneys, his balls, his jaw, his neck... all with a book. I'll never see a bookshelf in a home the same again.
All of this mayhem and blood leads John Wick out into the desert. Where he has to meet with some high elder to... do a job to reverse the excommunicado to... be... an assassin slave or something... idk. There are people out there who may complain about the lack of sensible story in this movie, and... yep! - they're right, but you know... it's all about survival and revenge - what more do you need??
The real hero of this movie is a doctor that John sees in the beginning, who gives him some pills that take away the pain, and give him energy. Those pills are the things of superhumans, cuz that's all he needs for most of this movie. I saw him take a couple of sips of bourbon, and drink some of Halle Berry's spit (don't ask). But, that's all he needed to do all of this killing for nearly a week. I didn't see him stop at Burger King, or grab an energy drink, or take a nap (think of the great opps for product placement --- John Wick doesn't sleep often, but when he does, I bet it's on a Casper Matress), I didn't even see him use the restroom; which he probably needed cuz he was running weird throughout this whole movie - like he needed to pee and his pants were too tight. That's the real tragedy of John Wick - never having time to pee or buy new pants that fit.
But, apparently, John Wick doesn't need any of those things, all he needs is Halle Berry's spit. Just a couple of sloppy, slurpy kisses from Halle and a man or woman is set!
Yes, this movie lacks a bit in plot, but John Wick has always been about the amazing ballet of kills. There is a literal ballet influence as we see a glimpse of John's background - and it's a ballet/wrestling school... that also teaches young kids how to kill. The fighting is just as creative and pretty as in the last two movies, with A LOT more blood.
All is murderously fun enough to subside some disbelief, until... I won't spoil much, but... look, I've watched John Wick get shot, stabbed in crucial arteries, break bones, get hit by two cars, sliced up by all sorts of sharp objects... he keeps going, ok... we're living by "Fast & Furious" rules, whatever, but at one point he goes over the edge of a multiple story building. A BUILDING! He gets shot, falls over, hits multiple objects on the way down, and then SPLAT! - and he’s STILL ALIVE AND READY TO BEAT ASS. Forget "Fast & Furious" we're living by "Looney Tunes" rules.
Tumblr media
At another point, he loses a finger (minor spoiler, but it doesn't matter to the plot), if that finger had grown back, it wouldn't have surprised me.
C'mon, man... I've got to take off points for that.
It's a fun movie. Fans of the series will def enjoy it; I did for sure! If you're a casual fan, you'll prob have to suspend the part of your brain that tries to make sense of things, and simply enjoy, but it's worth a watch, if you love action.
Grade: B
I did feel sorry for the simple 9-5 henchman in this movie. Just out there trying to support your family, in a world where John Wick is killing people with pencils. If I were said henchmen, I think I'd pretend to get hit and knocked out by John Wick. Only John Wick normally shoots everybody in the head (many times) before leaving a scene. I'd have to smash a couple of ketchup packets on my head or something; I'd figure something out cuz I sure as hell ain't messing with a killer like him.
An actor I didn't mention is Asia Kate Dillon known as "The Adjudicator".
Tumblr media
She is excellent btw Trying to enforce rules, and I get it! You've gotta keep people accountable to the rules in a world full of assassins, but... if John Wick is the one breaking the rules... maybe you should let that shit go. That's the morale here. Follow the rules! And if you break the rule, you had better be as badass and indestructible as John Wick. He caused so much death in these three movies over a dog getting shot; this series is like a PETA wet dream, and judging on how awesome this dream is, it may continue way passed 3 movies.

Let's see... 20, 25, 42, 47, 49 please :)
20. An underrated director. I don’t know much about movies and directors, specifically, but The Witch’s director Robert Eggers is a great one. That’s his only movie yet, but he’s releasing his new one called The Lighthouse and I am super excited for it! :D
25. A movie you’ve seen that you think no one else’s here will have heard of? Wow... Maybe one called Mom and Dad, with Nicoals Cage? I’m not sure 🤔 I was surfing through channels looking for something to watch and I stopped on it. And it’s terrible 🙃
42. A movie that made you go ‘wtf was that’. Mom and Dad could be here lol ok, let me see one that made me go like that but in a positive way... maybe Enemy (by Denis Villeneuve, he is a very great and underrated director too, omg, I almost forgot him!). This movie was half mind-blowing and half “wtf” cause a big part of me didn’t understand it hahahah
47. Movies that you think everyone should watch (not necessarily your favorites). Hum...  Brokeback Mountain, Wall-E, Mulan, The Aristocats, The Fox and the Hound, Fantasia 2000, Coraline, Logan, Avengers: Endgame, Predestination and John Wick. Don’t ask me how and why I chose these hahahah (btw I love animation movies, yes)
49. A book you want to see adapted to the big screen. I am really bad at books :( but there is one that I started reading and never finished called Marina by Carlos Ruiz Zafón, and I would looove to see a movie of this story! It’s about a boy who lives in a boarding school and walks through Barcelona on his spare time, then he finds an old mansion and meets a girl living there with her dad. But there is so much mystery behind this old house and they go find it out. It is really good! I should finish reading... 🤭🙈
thank you, Laura! this was very good to make! 🥰♥

unpopular opinion in 3.. 2..
so I saw La La Land
and i don’t get it, at all, on any level?  What of this was oscar worthy?  The music wasn’t it, the acting wasn’t it. The story and wardrobe are just rehashed nostalgia so that can’t be it... I’m at a loss here.
honestly the best part of this entire flick was the opening scene.  Where all of DIVERSE los angeles came together to stop traffic and sing and dance.
but then we had to watch two privileged fucks whine about how they were selling out/giving up their dreams to accept great fucking offers for work???  Like, Seb gets to play jazz, with his friend, and travel the country???  And Mia gets to go to PARIS and star in a film centered around her???  But I’m supposed to be all wistful and sad for them not what, hooking up and popping out a baby boy (which, btw, why DID the perceived sex change of the child in Seb’s version???)
anyway, John Legend is a fking legend and he was in no way the villain in the movie i saw.  He was a good friend who offered his washed up friend a GREAT job.  Seb was playing christmas carols for chump change in a dead end, thankless job and his heartless girlfriend wants to complain about his new job???  The one that financially supported her one-woman show?  The job which, btw, was playing Modern Jazz for a new audience that loved it.  John Legend was right when he told not-Deadpool to stop whining about 90 year olds and their tastes.
Also, btw, there didn’t seem to be a shortage of Jazz bars for Seb to mope around in, so, he didn’t actually NEED to open a club and “save jazz”.  Jazz was doing fine without his input, and hell, The Messengers had a good sound and clearly a big fan following.  Too bad Seb and Mia were too full of themselves to appreciate it.
As for the film score, there was a fun opening song, but it wasn’t catchy.  The other songs were just overly cheesy narration interspersed with, apparently, the only song Seb knows how to play on piano.  I normally love musicals.  All of them.  From Grease to Hamilton to Wicked.  But they all have way WAAAAY better songs.  I can’t imagine ever wanting to own the soundtrack to this movie and found myself yawning more than humming.  :(
If you loved it, cool.  That’s cool.  We don’t have to agree on everything.  I just needed to get this out of my system. <3

II was tagged by @virgothepoet to post my current top ten songs! Apparently forever ago too but I've been very inactive as of late on here but.. regardless here it is lol.
1. In The Air Tonight *cover* by In This Moment. The original by Phil Collins obviously is legendary, mostly that drum solo, but this band in my opinion created the absolute best cover I've ever heard. The first bit before that well known drum solo is well paced and soft and has an eerie feel to it (the entire album sort of does, it was the blanket theme, album name is Ritual). As the song progresses to the drums and the final part however it is loud and powerful and if you got yourself some good base you can feel eat drum hit through your body and it's fucking incredible. It's a song that you gotta listen to loud.
2. Corrupt by Depeche Mode. It's such a good song and honestly. Suuuuuper sexually enticing. I don't know what it s about it but I feel like it's the kind of song that would play during a kinky sex scene maybe. 😂 anyways. I've always loved Depeche Mode and grew up hearing their music. I just recall having a super vivid dream a while ago and this song played the whole time and I've been obsessed with it. Can't get it out of my head.
3. Out Loud & Satellite by Gabbie Hanna (The Gabbie Show). Ok so this girl if anyone doesn't know is a youtuber and ex vine star. She has two legitimate songs and they're fucking great. I love the girl so much and even if it's a cliche for youtubers to have a song or have a book or whatever, hers are fantastic and I support her 100%. Also her music video for Out Loud is like gorgeous af. So like. Aye (I know this is two songs but I'm counting them as one k?)
4. Miss You by The Rolling Stones. I remember hearing this in a movie as a kid and kind of forgot about it. Was getting back into their music and came across this and it made me realize how much I actually love the band. This particular song just has such a nice sound and I love the vocals.
5. Sonne by Rammstein. Again a band I grew up listening too. I don't speak German but I do look up the translations (I don't recommend for those innocent children out there). This song just resonated with me for some reason, it translates to Sun. The first line of the chorus is Hier kommt die Sonne = Here comes the sun. I had this line tattooed on my inner bicep when I was about 18? I think. Anyways, it's hard af to sing to their music (not cause it's German but Til's vocals are so deep and kind of rough that it's just... you can't harmonize lol) but this song... it gets the exception. Also the music video delivers their weird and kinda fucked up story telling as I expect and I love it.
6. Otherside by The Red Hot Chili Peppers. Another band I heard a lot as a kid but kind of reunited with as of late. I don't really have a lot to say about this song, well I can't think of anything right now... But it's a great song and I love it and it's probably my favorite of theirs.
7. Hellhound On My Trail by Robert Johnson. The only blues man I listen to honestly. I love the history of this man, whether or not how much of rumoured history is true or not obviously we don't know but his music speaks pretty loud about it, no? Anyways. I love the way he plays and sings. It's simple but not. It's sad but it's also dark. I love most of his music that speak of the whole selling his soul thing but there's more that are just as amazing such as Sweet Home Chicago, or Travelling Riverside Blues which if I remember correctly Led Zeppelin made a cover of. 10/10.
8. Phantom Of The Opera *cover* by Nightwish. This goes back to when the band was still performing with their first female vocalist Tarja. She has classic, and incredibly powerful, opera vocals and the male vocalist balanced it beautifully as the Phantom in this cover. A perfect mix of opera and metal. It's one of my favorite songs from the time when Tarja was their female vocalist and I highly recommend it. Pretty sure the only version available is a live performance but regardless, It's incredible. Tarja has a solo career now of course so I recommend looking into that too if you like that sort of genre.
9. Rose by A Perfect Circle (Maynard of Tool is the vocalist btw, he also has a third band called Puscifer. 10/10). A running theme with my favorite songs when it comes to metal is having a creepy/eerie and powerful vibe. I don't know how to describe this song so you'll have to listen to it for yourselves but I love it. I also think Maynard's voice is fucking beautiful.
10. Killing Strangers by Marilyn Manson. I first heard this song in John Wick and fell in love. It's a whole new sound from Manson that I personally hadn't heard before. I'm used to heavier and creepier stuff from him and this song mind of has a very rock and roll vibe but is also slower paced, heavy but not like... *heavy*. If that makes sense. Again I'm not really sure what to say about this song aside from that I love it. It's one of those things where I get a certain feeling and chills when listening to it but I'm not sure how to put that into words.
So. There we go. 10. Well.. 11. But ya know. I don't know who to tag so whoever wants to do this, go for it! If people want to know what else I listen to then feel free to message me!
