The Pleasant Household
Spring, Year 1
As Daniel embarked on preparing the centerpiece of the evening, a turkey, disaster struck when the bird unexpectedly caught fire in the oven. Panicked, Mary-Sue swooped in with quick thinking, extinguishing the flames and saving the day. With the turkey partially salvaged and some opting for leftovers, the dinner party managed to regain its momentum.

Kaity's thoughts:
#I should've known better
#His cooking skills were too low :(
#At least nobody died, cause Mary-Sue is a brave baddy
#Also I'm gonna need to start a fire count in my game because it's obnoxious how fires break out lmao
#family dinner gone wrong

Oh, darlin. I love ya to bits.
I'm proud of this life we've made.
I look back on everything we've been through, when we adopted Mary Sue, when she had the twins...boy, it's been a thrill.
Why are you talking like this, Herb?
Oh, you know. I'm an old man, honey. We're not getting any younger. I think about our life together, and I...I feel nothing but pure joy.

Dirk: "Lil? What's going on?"
Lilith: "I'm pathetic. The one thing I thought I was good at, and I'm not!"
Dirk: "That's not true. You just need more exposure. It's amazing you got published! That you finished your book! You have an incredible talent, Lilith. Things are going to happen. You'll have a bestseller before you know it."
Lilith: He's right. I just need to research more. I need to get more connections.

The Broke household. Summer, rotation 1. Part 2: Tragedy strikes again
Before Dustin even had the chance to try figure his life out, tragedy hit the family again. During school hours, a lightning strike hit one of the trees in the backyard, and without even thinking, Brandi ran outside and got caught in the flames. Both she and her unborn baby tragically died in the fire that day.
Not only had Dustin lost both his parents but now he was the one responsible for his little brother, too. He knew it meant he had to give up his plan to go to college. Beau needed him, now more than ever.
After the death of his mother, Dustin completely gave up on school. What was the point, anyway? He knew that his best chance in life was the criminal career in which he had already gotten a head start. Once he became an adult he let his boss Gordon King know he was ready to take his job more seriously from now on. He had no other choice. His little brother depended on him.
A short summary of what happened in the Broke round:
- Dustin had his first kiss and first woohoo with Angela Pleasant, and they fell in love
- Dustin was promoted to level 3 in his part-time job in the criminal career
- Dustin graduated from high school with awful grades and grew up badly
- Beau learned to walk and grew up well
- Beau became best friends with Dustin and Desdemona Capp
- Brandi and her unborn child died in a fire T____T

The Pleasant Household
Spring, Year 1
In the midst of her ongoing career ambitions and the looming shadow of mid-life uncertainty, Mary-Sue's yearning for a promotion wasn't the only thing stirring her heart. She found herself contemplating the prospect of expanding their family, perhaps as a response to her internal search for a new purpose and direction. This desire to try for a baby with Daniel was yet another thread woven into the intricate tapestry of her evolving life, sparking questions about her identity and where her path might lead. Will these desires lead Mary-Sue toward the answers she seeks or add further layers of complexity to her already tumultuous journey?

Unfortunately, Mary-Sue takes her anger out on Lilith. The girls don't know what's going on, though Angela doesn't really care. If her sister is getting into trouble well, she probably deserved it!

"Congratulations, Julie! You look so pretty."
"Aw, you too! Sorry I'm not doing bridesmaids this time - we wanted to keep it simple."
"It's cool, pink isn't really my colour anyway."
