BOOK ELEVEN BOOK ELEVEN AAA
BIG SPILLERS FOR BOOK ELEVEN
OK I WARNED YOU
Tumblr media
AAAA
I had two things for book eleven but like cmon
Had to share this one, and i can use the other one tomorrow since i don't have anything epic for it otherwise sob
I drew this when i thought his hair was black for some reason bc despite my 800 rereads idk i just
Nothing clicked.
Then for a while after that i thought he was blonde bc blonde moustache and i kinda like that idea but then the wiki says he's also a redhead so like
Yeah, ANYWAY
How to Betray a Dragons Hero is my favourite one of the books i think 🫶🫶 from start to finish it's just such a masterpiece of an emotional rollercoaster. The moment it starts we see even more the devastation Furious and Alvin's war has wreaked, the dragons having caused forests and cities and islands to be reduced to ash in their rage and the Alvinsmen having driven these dragons further into their rage by killing them and stoking their anger every single day.
And then there's Hiccup and i just
The poor boy ok
I look back at how young he was through the series and find having started as younger than he ever was and now being older than we ever get to see him (excluding the epilogue) it feels like I've grown up with him.
And with Fishlegs.
I may resonate with this book most bc we all have an idea of what it is to be othered by society. The loneliness Hiccup and Fishlegs face, the isolation Camicazi faces for truly her first time now standing with these two boys, and the hope for better resonates deep in me.
I love how Cressida, in all her novels, seem to center around this quote of hers from wizards of once.
"We have to trust in the children and hope for the best."
She puts so much emphasis on the childlike hope, the lack of cynicism and the reality that change IS possible if you're willing to chase it. And even if you don't see it come to fruition, it's a matter of two steps forward and one step back.
Hiccup makes it to tomorrow (literally lives another day) because of Snotlout realizing that no matter what, you can start to fight for the better. The war ended because of Snotlout's act of selfless bravery even though he never saw the end of it.
I think another reason these themes resonate with me is it also aligns with some biblical aspects. How Jesus said that children would inherit the kingdom of God, and how childlike faith is necessary.
These are definitely thoughts i wanted to tack onto book/day twelve but oh well, here we are.
I really love these books and hopefully have some musings left for book 12 tomorrow. Happy Doomsday!!

inspiration saturday! 💌🎸
tagged by @prince-buck-diaz @panbuckley @monsterrae1 and @honestlydarkprincess 💗 thanks lovelies
here's a snippet and a moodboard for my exes to lovers musician buck au (i can't remember if i shared this already bc it's been months but im pretty sure i haven't)
Tumblr media
Buck and Eddie broke up on a Tuesday night, because of course they did.
Buck had been on tour for six months at the time and turns out long distance relationships are way harder than they ever gave them credit for— not to mention the constant scrutiny and rumors they had to deal with.
Honestly, Buck doesn't blame Eddie at all for finishing things off. Eddie was always too good to be true anyway, and he deserves better than whatever Buck could ever offer. Eddie deserves happiness and he deserves being worshiped and adored… and he deserves peace. Something Buck could never give him, no matter how much he wants to.
Eddie called him after his last concert in London— it had been almost midnight for Buck but Eddie was just getting out of a shift and the sun was hitting his face in just the right way, making his skin look golden and tanned and so tempting.
But Buck had immediately known something was wrong by the way Eddie's shoulders had been tense and his lips had been pursed in a fine line.
"I can't do this anymore." Eddie had said and the wind had been knocked out of Buck in the worst way possible. "I'm sorry."
Eddie's voice had sounded controlled and the man had been avoiding eye contact like the plague. Buck had known right then and there it was over.
Admittedly, the break up has been hard and he's been heartbroken since that video call— they couldn't even do it face to face, for God's sake— and he's been spiraling more than ever.
Over a decade as a musician, doing this until he could perform an entire concert with his eyes closed, and he’d never once been as homesick as he was after that call. He'd never been nervous before a performance, but his stomach roiled now ominously. He’d been able to distract himself from the devastating blow, the memory of warm brown eyes and soft skin and a fond smile, for the last two days, pushing the tour crew and himself hard, pouring all of himself over his lyrics, writing heartbreaking songs after heart breaking songs, even booking some studio hours in whatever city he was at the time. If he stopped moving or thinking, there Eddie was, and Jesus, Buck'd fucking lost him.
His jugular ached from supporting his heart. That’s where it sat after the breakup, every minute of the day; having Eddie in his life had been so painfully sweet. So much better than Buck knew life could be.
And it ended.
Of course it did.
It always ends, Buck thinks bitterly.
The fans and the magazines and gossip sites have been speculating about the reason like crazy for months, even from way before Eddie actually broke up with him. (Buck can't help but to resent them a little bit for that.) but nothing prepared him for this.

people's reaction to max's death head canons
the person who requested the xander death head canons requested i do this for all of the other characters so here is max. this one is gonna be shorter bc we didn't see much of max and her interactions with the other brothers but i still wanted to make it cause i love her (also, because its shorter, it takes less time (which is smth i didn't have today)).
avery: obviously would be devastated. she just lost the person who knows her best. i think she'd read her favorite books just to feel closer to her. she'd remember all of the times she ranted about those books and she didn't really listen to her. she'd regret not being there for her as much as she could've been. i think she'd also become lost. max has been there for her since she was a child. she was the only person there for her for nearly her entire life. losing that person, i think, would make her close herself off to other people. i think she'd send money to max's parents. she'd feel guilty for absolutely no reason and would send them money to help them through their grief. i think being in spotlight a lot would also affect her bc she'd have to put up this facade all the time. it would emotionally drain her and i think she'd consider ending her life. she'd get through it with jamie's help but it would be hard.
libby: i mentioned this in my libby's death hcs, but i think they got really close over the years. max and avery have known each other since childhood and i hc that, bc of this, max and her spent a lot of time together. libby would take them out on little outings whenever she could. i think she'd react the same way max reacted to her death. she'd go to all of the places she brought them to just to feel closer to her. she'd constantly be baking her favorite cupcakes and eating them while watching max's favorite rom-com or smth. i feel like she'd also try to be there for max's parents in some way? obviously they don't know each other that well, but i feel like she'd volunteer to sort of be their therapist. she'd let them talk to her about their grief and stuff.
xander: she's his girlfriend so of course he'd be crushed. i feel like max is one of the only people who actually gets him. they're so similar in the best ways possible and compliment each other (anyways, im ranting). i feel like the joy he felt in the lab creating things would disappear. his love for scones would disappear bc it would remind him of max. basically, everything he loves would become something painful for him. i feel like he wouldn't get out of bed. when xander loves someone, he really truly loves them (tobias, his brothers, etc). he'd do anything for them, and he gets attached over time. he'd try to tell everyone he's fine, and he'd be really convincing but everyone would know. they'd try to make him feel better by buying him supplies for his experiments but nothing would work. he'd just be numb. he'd be a shell of himself. he'd only talk to avery bc she would get it. they were both close to her. they'd cry in each other arms. he'd also be the one to help clean out her room and he'd keep her fav books.
jamie: he'd be sad and would definitely grieve but he wouldn't be incapacitated like avery. he'd try to help avery with her grief but would find that to be the hardest part. seeing her lose herself would physically pain him. some things would remind him of max. he'd see a book of hers or her favorite color and he'd think about her. he'd also visit her grave quite often cause he doesn't like the idea of the afterlife and thinks it would be lonely. also i think all of this depends on how long he's known her. his grief would obviously be worse if he'd known her for 10 years vs 2 when she died.
grayson: he wouldn't be all that affected by it (depends on when she died though. same thing i said about jamie applies here). he'd definitely be in touch with her parents making sure they're ok bc he cares about people a lot. he'd try to be there for xander and avery. hed book appointments with therapists for them that theyd never attend. hed visit her grave once in a while to make sure its clean bc he'd hate it if his grave was dirty.
nash: the worst part about losing max would be 'losing' xander and avery. it also obviously depends on how long he's known max. i think that if she were to die later in life, her death would affect him more. she'd sort of become a little sister to him bc of how much she reminds him of xander. he wouldn't leave the house anymore bc he wouldnt want to leave xander and avery alone. hed be attending to him and avery every second of the day.
ended up being longer than i thought it would be but still shorter. hope you enjoyed <3. i apologize for any spelling mistakes.

in a hypothetical toh/Peter pan au (bc the parallels are interesting to explore) The Collector is probably the closest equivalent to Peter (eternal child who's repressed all their troubles in the name of Fun and Whimsy and has an ambivalent approach to morality) (though keep in mind I'm not a scholar and it's been a while since I last interacted with a pan adaptation. You're the more knowledgeable one here feel free to correct me)
And then Wendy's closest equivalent as the viewpoint character who learns the main lesson about growing up and moving on and while not losing the part of yourself that made childhood seem so wonderful would probably have to be Luz (though obviously if we're going for this lineup then the peter/Wendy dynamic would have to be decidedly not romantic. Probably lean more into the "mother" thing from the book or Luz and Collie's like. Babysitter and baby dynamic)
Though again I'm very interested in what you, Lollytea, local Peter Pan scholar and toh enthusiast has to say and whether or not I'm off the mark on these ideas. P.S I feel very seen w/ u obsessing about an early 1900s western children's Isekai (/j) bc I did the exact same thing w/ the wizard of oz.
Okay okay okay okay okay okay this is a huntlow AU for my little huntlow brain but I decided to develop the universe a little and give some info on where all the main characters currently are and what they're doing.
Yes absolutely the Collector is this universe's version of Peter. The island adores them for mysterious reasons and their mood and temperment has complete control over the elements. All his whims and dreams and fantasies become a reality here so the place is very chaotic. I'm imagining that the island has the same starry sparkly aesthetic as the BL in S3.
The Collector is heaps of fun and the Lost Boys love hanging out with him and going on adventures. However....he's also prone to tantrums and his tantrums can have devastating consequences so.....none of them are really his true friends either. They're afraid of him, they tiptoe around him, they try to keep him happy.
His only real friend is King, a Neverbeast whose species is as ancient as the Island itself. King has a depthless cavern of power that he just....hasn't really developed yet. He might be a few centuries old but he ages similarly to the Collector. Just a pair of babies. Boys will be boys.
Luz is the most recent Lost Boy in a whole village of Lost Boys. You know how they had that epic village in Hook (1991) Yeah that shit was so cool, I'm giving them one of those. Anyway Luz's reasons for taking the Collector's offer are very similar to her reasons for choosing to stay in the BL. Fantasy as a form of escapism, struggling with the conventional education system and also grief and her mom trying to get her help that she doesn't want. It lands her here.
Amity is a girl who used to be frequently visited by a fairy named Willow when they were both little kids. However, Willow's friendship influenced Amity's overzealous imagination. She was drawing pictures of and writing about fairies and the stories her friend told her about Neverland and this got her in trouble with her parents. Cracking under the threat of more severe punishment, Amity got into a huge fight with Willow, ending in her declaring "I don't believe in fairies!" before slamming her window shut. This is the most cutting thing you could possibly say to a fairy.
Now, years later, Amity is residing in the world she tried so hard to forget about all those years ago. You see, she was at the age where her parents were preparing to send her off to finishing school and were having discussions about future arranged marriages. But Amity is not ready for that just yet. She wants to be a teacher!! She wants to be an inventor!!! So she runs away to Neverland where she can live out her dreams for a while until she's ready to return home.
She's currently running a "school" for the Lost Boys and is affectionately referred to as "Miss Amity", while also tinkering in her spare time. She feels very comforted by the order and control she has over her life now.
It's Luz's arrival that throws it all into disarray. Luz doesn't agree with Amity's style of teaching and though she doesn't deliberately try to interfere, a lot of Lost Boys do end up gravitating towards her, preferring her strange anecdotes and insane hyperfixation infodumps to Amity's lessons. This ends up putting the two of them at odds.
Gus is a Lost Boy....with a gift!!! The Collector was initially drawn to Gus because of their fascination with his primative human "Magic" tricks. Cards, coins behind the ear, cute silly stuff like that. He chose to go to Neverland because the stress of his Dad's high expectations was getting to him and he wanted a bit of a break (a case of miscommunication between father and son).
However, after being spirited away, Gus became Neverland's official Magician, knighted by the Collector himself. And by that I mean the Collector went "Haha I like you. I wonder what you could do if you had real magic!" and then proceeded to snap their fingers and gave Gus powers beyond his comprehension. Like waaaaay too much power. Gus is currently struggling to control his new magic and it tends to come out in uncontrollable bursts and its actually more of a curse than a gift. But he's pretty optimistic about his ability to eventually master it. And also the Collector refuses to change him back so....[shrug]
Willow and Gus? Besties. They're kinda like Peter and Tink in that Willow's favourite place to chill is atop Gus' shoulder or in his pocket.
She does not tell Gus about her secret romantic rendezvous with a certain pirate because that pirate tried to kidnap her once and Gus is very protective of his best friend.
Eda is.....a lot.
Okay. Originally a rebellious but insanely intelligent human girl, Eda and her sister were preparing to take on the world together. They were both aiming to attend the same university on a scholarship, but due to circumstances, the opportunity was only available to one of them. Eda's sister Lilith, panicking about all her dreams being ruined, wound up doing something she'd regret.
She snitched. She told a representative of their dream school of one of the delinquent acts Eda committed. Things quickly got out of hand. One person told another, things getting warped and exaggerated and other people who knew Eda personally began chiming in with their opinions of her. Some things were true. Others were not. But the most hurtful thing is that everybody was willing to believe all of it, because that just seemed to be the person Eda was. All of a sudden, it felt like the whole world had turned on her.
Life became very difficult Eda, she felt isolated and detested. She felt like a monster. This resulted in her running away to Neverland, but she carried her outcast feelings with her. She continued to stew in her own self loathing but that had terrible consequences.
Neverland is unpredictable. Its wishy washy. Its very attuned to imagination and dreams. Because Eda felt so strongly about being a monster, she gradually became a monster.
The Owl Beast is like the Crocodile to Belos' Captain Hook. She sees him as a reflection of the way she was treated back home, while he views her as everything vile and disturbing about this wretched island. Plus when he looks in her eyes, she reminds him of somebody he used to know. Somebody he hates with his whole heart and soul. He needs her dead. She needs him dead.
A huge part of Luz's goal in this AU is uncovering the mystery of the Owl Beast and eventually bonding with her and maybe even helping her return to her human form.
Anyway so yeah thats what's poppin on the island if anybody was interested. We can have our fun with this stuff, incorporate it however we want. I'm very focused on huntlow being silly tho. It's fun to me.

Okay Aelin’s plan at the end of EOS was complete bullshit for so many reasons, all of which can be lumped under 3 larger categories.
1) Probability of success during the war
This is limited, as they mentioned in the books, but Lys’s ability to trick people into thinking she’s Aelin lasts about as long as it takes for them to need her fire powers. The point of pretending Aelin was alive was to help morale and keep the bad guys from learning that she was out of the picture, but if your supposed “fire breathing” savior queen doesn’t show a single spark of power, even when a battle turns dire, that’s arguably worse for morale and does nothing to rally the people. Martyring Aelin & saying she died arguably would’ve been a better choice for this purpose.
Strategy is a huge part of war. Someone like Aelin, with magic as powerful as hers (especially bc of how effective a weapon fire was against Erawan’s forces), would be treated as a battalion all her own. War strategy relies on knowing every player on the board, every move that needs to be made. Generals (like Aedion) are factoring Aelin’s powers into a battle (how it’s fought, chances of success, etc) which means innumerable deaths and devastating losses when that power doesn’t show face. It’s actively harming the war effort — imagine if you thought you had a nuke but then it turns out your strongest weapon is a nerf gun and nobody fucking told you…
2) Aedion & Lysandra’s involvement
Was Aedion justified for how he treated Lysandra? No. Was he justified in being that angry? Yes. Lys knew what she was getting into, understood the sacrifices she was making to execute Aelin’s idiotic doppleganger plan, but nobody told Aedion. He was going to have to sleep with Lysandra just for his goddamn genetics like some prize cattle and, in one fell swoop, lost the woman he loves and cousin he should have sworn his life to. It’s also implied in EOS that he has some sexual trauma in his past, having slept with people to move up Adarlan’s ranks as fast as he did, which makes the role they expect him to play even more fucked up. Lysandra’s essentially sacrificing her entire life and any possible chance at the happy ending she wants(which, btw, I can’t fathom asking of anybody, but at least she agreed to do it on her own…I guess)
3) The likelihood (& morality) of continuing the deception post-KOA
This entire plan moving into the future hinges on some weird ideas about genetics. Yes, the “Ashryver traits” seem to be dominant and there’s a high chance of Lysaedion’s children looking like Aedion… but if they don’t? What then, pass them off as bastards? That would mean they don’t get the throne. It’s also pretty well established that magical abilities follow the same heritability as physical traits but neither Lysandra nor Aedion has magic that could be passed off as a child of Rowan/Aelin. The best case scenario is that the kids inherit Aedion’s lack of magic and it’s all seen as some cruel joke from the gods, that the offspring of two such powerful magic wielders didn’t get any of their parents’ abilities. The worst (and most likely) case is that the kids turn out to be shape-shifters and they’re still written off as bastards…so they don’t get the throne.
The other problem with putting a false queen on the throne lies in the fucking morality of it all. Aelin’s whole claim to the throne relied on divine right (or some fantasy version of it) and the idea that people who are born to a throne have the inimitable right to rule. Darrow had the right idea in QOS when he told Aelin that she didn’t have the proper upbringing to be a queen, to rule a country, and her only argument against him was “weLL iM AeLiN aShRyVEr gaLAtHyNiUS.” As though that means anything in terms of all the knowledge, temperament, and responsibility required of being a GODDAMN QUEEN.
So if Aelin deserves queenhood purely because of circumstances of birth and blood, what are they achieving by putting a lowborn shapeshifter and her illegitimate children on the throne? Does that not go against everything that was supposedly so important? It seems more like Aelin only cares about the appearance of herself/her family sitting the throne of Terrassen, which is fine as far as writing an interesting character goes, but that’s a sinister kind of corruption that should be acknowledged for what it is. If she truly wanted what was best she would let Darrow and the other northern lords lead it (or at least put Aedion on the throne working with them) because they were the ones helping Terrassen through those ten horrible years and they have the power and experience to bring the kingdom back to its former glory.
SJM writing a plan that was so clearly not going to succeed is lazy writing. She knew it didn’t have to be a foolproof plan bc she knew Aelin was going to survive & be rescued (duh) but the fact of the matter is, an author’s actions and thoughts become the characters’ actions and thoughts. To make such a poorly-thought out plan then to present it through the narrative as some kind of genius move on Aelin’s part is…bad writing. It’s just bad writing.

The golden enclaves
Ok so i like how this starts with: Orion has been unutterably stupid
Please tell me that we will find out why
This was devastating.
But also WHY IS ORION SUCH A PIECE OF SHIT HE PROMISED TO GO WITH HER AND INSTEAD HE MADE HER LOSE HIM FOR NO REASON TO A FUCKING MAWMOUTH LIKE HER DAD WAS FUCKING LOST BUT NOT KILLED BECAUSE THE VICTIMS DONT DIE THEYRE DIGESTED FOREVER IN ETERNAL PAIN Jezus Naomi god it really is horrific what is up with this
Also, and I say this with absolute extreme disdain, El seriously only just now realised that she has perfect combat synergy with Orion and she COULD have destroyed Patience and freed her father from the eternal torment of being digested? Like......seriously? Did Liesel not even realise this, who is the only one with any brains? (I realise that Liesel at least had different priorities)
Also I am going to explain Orion's craziness and personality change in book 2 as such: he didn't have any mals to eat and so he went mad. He decided, like the piece of shit that he is, that he'd prefer to do months of battle against mals because at least he wouldn't be hungry.
The funny thing is that book 2 ESTABLISHED that El has ZERO absolutely ZERO idea of what goes on in Orion's head. Like. She doesn't get him AT ALL. So her prevaricating on how he's so misunderstood and pushed to be what everybody sees in him - he ALREADY TOLD YOU HE JUST LOVES EATING MALS HE DOESNT CARE ABOUT ANYONE OR ANYTHING HE JUST LOVES EATING MALS EL STOP BEING AN IDIOT AND PROJECTING YOUR OWN SHIT ON THIS POOR BOY
She's literally comparing herself to him again. Look he was a hero and I was an evil witch. Everybody thought that and wanted that from us. EL HE DIDNT FUCKING CARE OK????? Worse, (and it makes sense in this moment), she somehow threads her mum's direct look at his soul into this narrative as some kind of reinforcement of it. He didn't care El. He didn't care. He's just a hungry boy.....
In fact, I cannot remember her classmates ever hating El. Because....they didn't even know she was fated to be an evil witch archetype? They just avoided her bc she wasn't an asset to their survival they thought which was so absurdly idiotic since EL IS A GODDAMN MAL EXTERMINATOR and she never told anyone because of her stupid fucking hangups she could have been a fucking prep and made everybody's lives so much better so much earlier
'because he thought it was his job to make a way out for everybody but him'
This is why I didn't like the second book so much. El is so obviously delusional about this guy.
I cannot STAND IT!!!! HE LITERALLY TOLD YOU HE HAS NO HERO COMPLEX EL!!!! YOU WERE HAVING YOUR LOVELY FIRST TRY AT SEX WITH THIS COOL GUY AND HE SAID: NAH EL. I JUST LIKE TO EAT!!! MALS!!!!!
And the weird thing is she GOT it. When she was getting his mana as he was zipping around pulverising them she was like: OH he loves this. I guess I was wrong. So why are we back here??? Or do I remember that wrong??
I've forgotten how the magic system works. Shit. Malia? Oh yeah.... There was some sort of prophecy. She was gonna bring the enclaves down and kill lots of people or soemthing. so why the fuck did they leave the payment open???
Oh yeaaaahhh the enclaves got hit
"She really did an excellent job of making it seem perfectly ludicrous for me to be living quietly in my own home instead of keeping close tabs on the latest news from international wizarding circles."
LOL
Can seriously nothing kill a mawmouth but El? How is that even POSSIBLE. How did enclaves ever work then? The moment a mawmouth gets in its over
How the fuck is Liesel THIS good at manipulating El. Oh my god.
Her saying: hey bitch, stop feeling sorry for yourself, your boyfriend being dead, no thank you by the way for saving all of ours lives, I don't care about your other problems, or that you might want a break from the horrors with your mum, also come help me out with the worst most insanely horrible creature in the world AGAIN because I know only you can do it. Bitch. Your house sucks
That worked....
She's going to London to fight another fucking Mawmouth - something her mother doesn't even KNOW SHES DONE YET - and leaves her behind without even a hug of goodbye. AFTER FOR YEARS OF TERROR. I honestly....I'm speechless. I started to suspect El was insanely dumb in book 2 but damn, she really is perhaps the dumbest protag I have ever known barring Korra
I love Liesel. Liesel saw El, FOR WHAT SHE WAS, and she CALLED HER OUT,, and said: you are such a stupid fucking idiot. In book 2. Thank god she's around. She's the only good thing out of book 2 really in my opinion. She says to El: you are insanely powerful. You could change the whole world. Now DO IT! Stop sniveling in the fucking dirt!
Ok there we go. There's my El. 'i eyed him in enormous irritation' her fucking disdain for the preps is my endless delight. Even to her enormous personal disadvantage.
Oh I see. It's like Naomi novik read my harry potter post about the wizards being the Fae.
I remember reinterpreting els prophecy into its super obvious good meaning but can't remember what it was.
How the fuck can Enclaves be based in Malia if that's not allowed (murder? But that's illegal.)
Oh what??? There's still working wizards out there working on keeping the enclave running??? Oh damn. Ok so the class hierarchy becomes explicitly about adult production.
Liesel made her angry again. Made El who she is again.
Why isn't everybody fucking fleeing dude??? Why are there still even people there? Grt the fuck out! The enclave is compromised! Get out with your damn lives you preps!
Oh my god. Go after it! It's fucking going after someone else!!! Oh my god go after it guys!!! IT WAS RUNNING AWAY FROM EL???? CAN MAWMOUTHS KNOW SUCH THINGS?
I have to say. Naomi made a deeply op protag and is now taking a more powerful hammer to the self-delusion that El mysteriously developed about her own power.
Liesel, impervious to El's natural intimidation vibes.
Oof i love all the delicate injustices and horrors in Liesel's life. Ok no. I no longer do. It's too painful
'“So it’s better to have power, and it’s stupid not to take it when you have the chance.'
Yeah. In fact. If I was Liesel I'd be beyond furious at El. Somebody so gifted, SO powerful, and she's just pissing it all away.
Jezus christ. Jezus christ! Liesel! A sensible person of intelligence????
Oh right. The prophecy. Killing thousands doom destruction. WHO IS GETTING KILLED EL COME ON THINK!!! THINK FOR ONCE IN YOUR GODSDAMNED LIFE!!!!! or tell Liesel about the stupid prophecy and she'll do it for you -_-
It was a nice thought though, letting the commuters into the garden but damn, yeah they're gonna obviously only be enthralled.
A TERTIARY ORDER ENTITY.
LIESEL WAS TRYING TO SNAG EL THE ELDRITCH WHATEVER THE FUCK SHE IS FOR HER HIGHLY EFFECTIVE POWER THROUPLE?
And I mean. Alfie is literally bound to El too. Wait. Is Orion actually not coming back...? Are we never getting answers? El's gonna fall for Alfie and Liesel? No....
Love how Liesel and Alfie protectively jump up and go: OUR entity. Lol
Oh ok so the compulsions off. She doesn't think he'd help her after she saved his dad, his home, oh yeah saved the whole school that he felt responsible for, and didn't even insist on keeping him as a slave.
I must admit, I did not at all expect El to be hanging out with Alfie and Liesel after all that. I thought, more like her team, but yeah they're not exactly in England. Isn't there travelling magic. Also I expect that Claire or whatever had a family member eaten by the mawmouth.
I was thinking that: won't commute from an enclave be really dangerous? So. Yes. But like. Why then even work for them. Oh ok so you could just go live in a villages with a few other wizards in a circle
Sometimes novik is not consistent about the vulnerability of adult wizards. But this description seems more apt.
Liesel coming in to say 'stop it!' to eldritch monster entity El like she isn't going over the deep end suddenly and very badly. And succeeding. And then getting Yancy to say what El wants to know. Wow they're a good team. I propose Orion/El/Liesel/Alfie super extreme power ..... Thing? Uh. Bridge structure?
El seriously is like: hm. Why is Liesel helping me now? Already turned her down....
El. You saved the whole school. You made that possible. You killed three MAWMOUTHS. You treat Liesel like a person you respect. You are a fucking entity who could do incredible things with a whole lot of help on the bits you suck so terribly at. Liesel owes you, thinks you're a good person, and is probably genuinely into you, also you need HELP. In so many damn ways. Being sensible, getting around in the world, being smart, getting it together.
Liesel has the most practical magic in the world. Wait. Holy fuck. Is Liesel like...Hermione???? Like powerful power top Hermione???
Wow. Damn. Amazing sex scene here. It makes me laugh in delight almost. Wow Liesel is an insanely stabilising influence. Literally kissing the trauma out of her head for a bit. (Edit: uh is there a fanfic version of this out there...?)
There was something so absolutely wrong with Orion and everybody kept trying to tell El and she never saw it because he became a person FOR HER. And she keeps trying to blame his family but his family probably endlessly tried to connect with him but he was just hunting mals. His father responding like this- just absolutely devastated over Orion finally having acted like a human being with somebody is enormous proof. Uh yeah and the rest of the chapter confirms this explicitly.
It really is harry potter but cooler and grittier and more horrifying and more interesting. Our dark'ness dementia ravenway.... The bit about how really witches when caught up in the witch hunt really can't get themselves out because the 'mundanes' negate it by the disbelief.... A direct reference to Rowling's note about witches making the fire tickle and going in for multiple rounds. Also the whimsical magic. But it doesn't have that magic to the magic. It's uneasy.
Man. So that's why novik repeated el's misconceptions of Orion in her time of grief. To finally disembowel them conclusively later in this book.
Yeah. The big question is. Why did Orion become a human being for El?
I love how aadhya and Chloe and Liesel are all instantly INSTANTLY like oh fuck El sees evil she's evil. They are still an extremely well oiled team
Ok but like, El could just grab new York's mana pool right. But yeah she'd become like ophelia
Lol right. By destroying so many mals ( i really didn't think the estimation had been 92 percent but ok) the enclaves lose their power. That's how El has already smashed them....
Oh wow. I forgot about that malia is stealing life force.... And mals come from Malia....
Which means.....that Ophelia is a huge maleficar and Orion is a big old mal. But she certainly is smart enough to say: we should look into reproducing what you did
Damn.ophelia is smart. She's really doing some magic economics
I really didn't know enclaves were built on malia. I think that's a retcon actually. Not just that El didn't know though also that naturally. It's to make this numbers game fit - to say - there's another numbers game beneath the numbers game - to make the mana and malia interactions fit. And well done novik for that
Because the golden enclave really does become the better solution.
I'm not sure how El going in to kill patience is going to help her recover the scholomance though. I mean. Turns out El could have just cleaned the whole place up all along but yknow. I already knew that.
Why did they ever even send Orion away. They could have just unleashed him endlessly on the enclave's mals. Probably infinitely safer and more pleasant for the enclaves children.
Is El really going forward with this? His mum is a maleficer oh poor poor hero boy Orion.... He was never loved. HE LOVED THE SCHOLOMANCE FOR THE MALS EL NOT BECAUSE HIS MOM HIS AN ETHICAL EVIL MAGIC HACKER
Oh no...please tell me that isn't Chloe's only role. She came late to the team but she was fourth!
Aadhya??? WHAT is Liesel's deal? Uhhhh she ran the whole thing? She made everything possible? Do you think she did that because she's a steely selfish bitch? No.
It was a moment of both weakness and total insanity in the literal senses of the word. So maybe you can thank Liesel for sexing El back into a somewhat functional state Aad
'Liesel made an impatient dismissive gesture. “Yes! You have a hook in her yourself. And why will we yank on these hooks? To make her protect us, save our lives? She will do that for strangers, for nothing. What else? You are her ally. Have you asked her to do anything for you? To make someone give you an enclave place, or an artificer contract? Why not?Because you are also a great martyr, who does not want these things?” She snorted as Aadhya scowled at her. “No! You don’t ask because you know she would say no. I tried asking myself. But she will do nothing selfish for herself, much less anyone else. And she is not wrong,” she added, in a grudging tone of having been unwillingly persuaded. “She is too powerful. Once she started, there would be nowhere to stop. So there is only one use of our hooks: to help her stop. You had better be glad that I have one, and hold tight to yours, too.”'
I fucking love Liesel. What the fuck
Lololololol
Oh my god. El angry at Liesel AGAIN for....offering exactly what she needs and wants and doing so perfectly. Lolololololloll
Oh my god is this the garden in sintra with all its fun fake-magic masonry caves and structures???
IT IS!!! I LOVE THAT GARDEN!!! If you're just out to chill and stroll and tramp around lovely fake natural structures that still look cool!
Sad the characters are experiencing such frustration in such a lovely place.
Adult Disneyland....you're killing me novik. It really was a nice place. I mean I was there when there weren't many other people. It was just nice gardens with caves.
Novik describes the portalling system for the scholomance. Yes. It still doesn't make any sense.
Ok but like the gardens are closed at night. Mals can get in no problem.
What im getting from this is that i had incredible timing and normally that garden is packed with horrible tourists
So....how is it that El has a direct link to New York's mana pool THROUGH the pool right into the scholomance?? Because all the wards are down? Ok but uhhhhh it's out in the void??? That's the whole point
UHHHH actually El I don't think you felt Patience scrying for Orion you just felt Orion
How the fuck is Liesel like, exactly the sharp cold sense that El actually WANTS every time?
Ohh ok so Ophelia somehow did make Orion as he is. Somehow.
Well OBVIOUSLY the Malia source is fucking horrible if it can bring an enclave into being. Like come on. Probably produces a mawmouth or something. And you gotta feed it 50 people or whateve
Damn. They're gonna turn Liu into a mawmouth. Its a sacrifice. Uh Novik. You better not go there.
Wow they were gonna make Liu a mawmouth and make her eat her closest full grown wizard family? I think so. Lets see. Go El!
I KNEW IT!!!!!!! WHAT IS THE WORST AND MOST POWERFUL MAL? WHAT IS THE GREATEST PIECE OF MAGIC AND MALIA? AN ENCLAVE
fucking hell. They're squeezing Liu into a mawmouth. Fuck.
No..her hand...
When I am very moved by a scene, i read it out, the first time. This was the scene.
Oof. Orion just ate some wizards. Surely he has less deadly weapons???? He really is a mal
Uh
Oh he actually really is a maw mouth mal? He's a fucking maw mouth? Her dads now inside fortitude inside patience inside Orion, still getting endlessly tortured. Uh...
'for all I knew' NO. DEFINITELY YOUR DAD
Well idk he's had pretty good control so far. Just unfortunate those damn Beijing council guys tried to kill El
Aadhya and Liesel going into negotiations as proxies for El who'd absolutely fuck them up lol
What a coincidence! You wanted to go to India. Now youve been invited to India! She gets angry
OH. MY. GOD. El actually learned a lesson. Asking for help. And of the right person. Liesel.
Wait a minute. She's been destroying the enclaves. By destroying the maw mouths. The maw mouths REMAIN the foundation. So those 'random' attacks. They were her destroying the enclave foundations while still on scholomance. They're lined up.
So if she kills this maw mouth - but still, why wouldn't her new foundation hold up. Oh she realises it completely too. Shit. I forgot that Salta and Bangkok simply died. She did that
Well honestly, Orion isn't such a bad solution, except the mawmouths in him don't die and also apparently he can't help himself eat people now....
LIESEL KNEW???????? WHAT THE FUCK?!!!!! SHES EVEN SMARTER THAN ME??????
Then surely there must be a foundation in the scholomance. And perhaps Orion is now carrying the mawmouth that pins it.
What the fuck do you mean this ain't a trolley problem. Just start in on propping up all the damn foundations with some real ones El. Then go on a lil maw mouth hunt
Ok but she doesn't even call her mother. Right. She can't. Forgot. She doesn't even DREAM AT HER MOTHER. Or some other magical communication. Not even about the family welcoming her after all or the true meaning of the prophecy
Actually since when is El capable of just catching others spells. And get mana from them?? Like some sort of scholomance? Oh yeah she s just so horrridly op
She's....catching bullets out of the air. And...turning people into stone temporarily with them. Fucking absolute lol
I get the sense that novik got lost in the Sintra garden... Like multiple times. Which is very hilarious because my god. It is very easy.
So weird to have fond and vague memories of this precise settting
Ok so i was right. And Naomi novik is a little bit of a genius for this. Real Orion, the realest Orion, was the Orion of book 1. The genuine hero. When there were fewer and fewer mals to eat in book 2, he became more and more maw mouth, started behaving strangely.
Oof. Better run El. He's about to start..... Eating.
What a fucking BASTARD. COULD HAVE AT LEAST HELD ON ONTO EL WAS NOT AT LEAST S HUNDRED STEPS AWAY
Damn El people are getting EATEN OVER THERE HELLO STOP FUCKING STALLING
The thing is all this time I've been thinking CANT YOU KILL THE BITS AND NOT THE BOY. KILL THE MAW MOUTH BITS BUT NOT THE BOY? THE BOY ISNT SOME ORGAN THAT CANT BE AUTONOMOUS. YOU COULD SURELY EXTRACT HIM WHOLE BECAUSE HE IS. YOU HAVE TO KILL THEM ALL INDIVIDUALLY REALLY ANYWAY
Oh my god. No
She did something much more
Damn. I remember wishing el would become child guardian in the scholomance but it's true that Orion would also do very well
But he's not getting mana out ...wait. he can still extract mana out of mals he snaps into the void? Uh ok.
That book made a lot of sense. And was very very very good.

Regarding your latest post: YES. 1000x
This is why plenty of readers didn’t get the romantic vibe from elain azriel. His personality exists outside of elain, if anyone wasn’t aware.
And the scenes were there to show us more of his personality bc we hardly knew his motives. It just so happened to involve elain because her being stolen was crucial to the narrative at that time!
After reading the novella I definitely saw SJM building a possible "more than just friends" vibe between E/riel but I never got that to a noticeable degree in ACOWAR. Especially when you consider how she was devastated over Graysen for most of the book then SJM ended things with a glimmer of hope for Elucien.
There could be things that qualify as possible hints but think of all the loaded moments between Feyre and Lucien in that book, couldn't they also be considered hints?
Possible hints don't guarantee a relationship happening though.
So it is confusing when people claim Azriel's actions in ACOWAR are a result of his feelings for her and hers for him.
Sure you have one liners like "you came for me" that seem to stand out but the only reason Elain was captured by the Cauldron was because she thought Graysen was calling her back to him. So how meaningful can those lines actually be when you look at what's going on for the character outside of those single lines?
SJM pairings are not that flighty, where they're in love with one character then ten minutes later fixated on another. I don't think it can be denied that Az had feelings for Mor throughout ACOWAR and Elain for Graysen. Therefore they can't truly have feelings for each other.
And it doesn't make sense to ignore that Az is always sacrificing his own safety, regardless of how dangerous it is.

Stared at these for a while bc I think I already know how you'd answer a lot of these qlfjakkd so I'll offer you ✨️ 🔥 🌿 (that last one is just an open invitation at all times. Your taste is impeccable and i demand all the recs you are willing to give me lmao)
✨favourite platonic BG3 dynamic and why?
Oooooh. Fascinating. Good question. Ok, it’s SLIGHTLY cheating because of the changeable nature of it but I love Mayrina’s responses to Tav - her initial grief, anger and pushback, and then her trust in them.
Oh also I LOVE Karlach and Lae’zel’s banter about owls. They don’t have chemistry to me, but I enjoy Karlach drawing out Lae’zel’s more low-stakes thoughts, though they’re delivered with the same intensity she gives everything lol.
Also, it’s more implied than shown since they have no screentime together, but I like the professional relationship between Cerys and Zevlor. I think she respected him a lot before the Absolute incident and it makes the whole “betrayal” harder for her to swallow. Or maybe I’m just making shit up here, lol. Anyway, I’m effectively writing her as Zevlor’s right hand woman in Planar Tears, so I suspect she will have FEELINGS that get at least incidentally shown there.
🔥is there an aspect of the game’s story that you think it could have done better?
I think the common answer to this is “Wyll”, and I 100% agree. I’m on team “Ulder was a good dad, but too rigid” and think that Ulder can apologise and make amends. I want to see the Ravenguards happy, despite Ulder’s mistakes. Anyway. In that quest line Wyll says he’s going to throw a celebration dinner, and for some reason I felt the game REALLY cued us up to expect a cutscene there. And it would have been great! Even just a short one with your current party around the fire and Wyll toasting to the memory of Ansur or something?! Come on! This would have been a great place for more Wyll, to really make it HIS storyline instead of Emps. And also to add a bit of platonic bonding. (We need a tiefling party equivalent in Acts 2 and 3, and the High Hall only slightly counts. I will die on this hill!)
Otherwise… I find the handling of Shadowheart’s story a little annoying, honestly. I personally find it hard to want to do a massive “trust fall” when the consequences are possibly killing an innocent woman whom hundreds of lives depend on (and who is a powerful ally). Like, it’s fine, I’m ok with just letting her leave my party over the fact I just straight up am not interested in playing trust games with her at one of the crucial moments in the game, but it does feel like the game believes “trusting her” is the right decision there and… it hasn’t set up enough doubt on Shadowheart’s part to earn that, I don’t think, and if if there were… it’s a fucking person, we’re talking about here. Your beautiful gesture of trusting Shart is playing dice with a tortured, devastated prisoner’s life.
🌿 a recommendation!
Ahahaha THE PRESSURE ;) jk
I don’t know how you feel about modern AUs, but @ra-scheln recommended me this amazing Gale/Karlach fic where she’s the piercer he’s booked to get a Prince Albert. It radiates Karlach’s warmth and Gale’s endearing slight-awkwardness (and it’s hot lol). I hadn’t thought about the pairing before this fic but DAMN.

Is there any hint Jaime could possibly have dyslexia or a learning disability in books? I think I've heard that it wasn't, but idk it feels like that's a detail from the show that did well portraying Jaime. Idk maybe it's my learning disability ass but I loved that!! But I also just love looking at Jaimes insecurities. It could be another detail that kept him relying on masking/being ultra warrior bc he probably doesn't think of himself as very smart.
yeah the insecurity regarding his intelligence, especially in terms of book smarts, is present in the books too. he really admires the quality in tyrion, and emulates it, often successfully too [saving brienne from rape, achieving things like manipulating shagwell without the methods he previously relied on (force, or even status at some point doesnt work so he has to really think outside of the box, like again, sapphires), tyrion rescue mission, the riverlands .] he can also be very perceptive. he is pretty good at noticing weak points. he hones in on cat’s relationship with jon, he does the same with brienne, looking out for and noticing all of her insecurities in response to her dehumanizing him, and the same happens with loras & kind of using his relationship with renly to prevent the bloodshed in the yard. he is actually just a good mediator in general. that makes so much sense to me bc of his role in his family. he is the only member that everyone likes, while every other party would love to tear each other to shreds, so his specific role in an abusive household is very clear. anyway, jaime’s most severe insecurity is being viewed as a monster. for this reason, he seeks out that *thing* in everyone else so he is not as vulnerable. he can be very good at reading certain people, this is also why his perspective is so popular among readers imo. like he also has an air of tyrion to him, he can also provide a new, and often clearer, vision of certain characters because of his personality & experience (like his argument with brienne regarding robert). this is also just funny when he has such major blindspots regarding other things (romanticization of cersei and sometimes the old kg, though he goes back and forth w this). i think post aerys, jaime really did resolve to not really make decisions anymore and not being someone with responsibility (he was never that interested in power, even before that, but i think he was not that opposed to responsibility, he was ready to be the heir, he did want to be a kg and a good knight), instead, he dissociated and lived pretty much on autopilot. even when he was a commander he was reckless enough to always be on the frontlines and was okay with dying (see the whispering wood). he was impatient and very impulsive because he dreads facing “knots and tangles” (like the horrid moral knot that the aerys situation was, and its devastating consequences) so instead of even trying to think about them he wants to just make them disappear and cut through them. until he cant. for multiple reasons, external and internal. until he has to sit down and untangle them. and he proves himself capable. i liked the learning disability aspect that he was given in the show, it is a nice dimension, and i think he has attributes that i really relate to as well (like how he can fixate and excel in one thing & put all his focus on it, how he keeps saying “oh tyrion would talk so much about history here haha nerd” and then proceeds to spend 2 pages infodumping loras with kg lore, or that one scene where he gets distracted counting coins lol), but i think a lot of it already makes sense without that being actually canon, idk like i wouldnt actually diagnose him (he has no trouble reading from what we have seen) but i am not about to come for anybody’s headcanons

I have a love hate relationship with the fact that you enjoy making us suffer throughout the entirety of your books and making us think they will have a bad ending just to give us the best possible endings ever 🥲 ugh i love you so much youre my favorite author ever, while im here i apologize for the incoming paragraphs but i just need to say it:
1. Idk how you do it but the book covers you choose are always so perfect like?? Idk if im explaining myself but i feel like they capture the vibes of the books perfectly
2. Ok now this is kinda personal and i dont mean to sound like im venting, but have you ever read a fic that impacted you so much to the point where you find yourself still thinking about it to this day 😭 bc that's how i feel about both of ur books, they're so beautifully written and i'm always thinking about the characters or going back to read random parts of the books (edit: i had this paragraph written way before parasite was removed okay but i started rereading eldia yesterday because im truly heartbroken, devastated, downcast, miserable, dejected and inconsolable by the fact that its finished)
I discovered you in july-ish 2021 during parasite era but didnt actually read it until june 2022, i was devastated when i finished it but also had to cleanse my soul cause i accidentally burnt my self out during the last few chapters (i mean it in a good way lol, it was rlly hard to read the last 2 chapters 🙇‍♀️ they were written really well and i felt unsettled while reading the beginning of y/ns whole breakdown, i could feel the gloomy depressed vibe it had if you get what i mean), so anyway i moved on to Eldia. At that time, it was fairly new so there were only like 10 or 11 chapters, ive been keeping up with Eldia ever since and its truly bittersweet to see it end like i was literally full on sobbing for no reason 🥲 probably the sentiment of being a reader for 2 years idk lol. Anyway what im trying to say is that your books were one of the only things that helped me escape reality in 2022, i didnt really find joy in anything and hated my life, however ive definitely improved ever since, so im honestly rlly thankful for you Amara 💕
Edit: i just know it sounds stupid and youre probably tired of hearing the same thing over and over, but i've had this written out for like 5 months and was kinda scared to send it because i felt like it was corny, but with Eldia's resolution i felt encouraged seeing all these people tell you what they think :P so sorry for the long ass paragraph lmao, i just needed to say it because i know in 10 years ill be a grown ass woman and still thinking about these books, theyre attached to my brain forever (like a parasite, ironic)
Ok so i doubt ppl will read this (or that you'll even read all of it) so if you reached the end i must say that you actually ate with the baby names in Eldia 🤭 im saying it here to avoid accidentally spoiling anyone but Andromeda 😪 i remember in early july i sent you an anon ask saying that i pictured you as a girl mom and even listed a few names, i was gonna list Andromeda so its kinda funny to me 😭 and Elrose?? Andromeda is my fav name but Elrose grew on me and i actually rlly like it, idk why it just sounds and looks so satisfying OMG DAMN I JUST SCROLLED UP AND DID I REALLY WRITE ALL OF THAT?? IM SO SORRY AMARA 😭😭 i definitely had way more to say but i feel bad now, it was gonna be an anonymous ask but atp i'll just let it be public
to conclude i must say that whenever someone asks me what my favorite books are, i hate that im not able to say "Oh my favorite books are parasite and eldia" because they're considered fanfics and not 'real books', i think thats really stupid, not only because fanfiction is just as valid as what ppl consider 'real books' but because there are so many fanfictions turned into real books or movies?? Ok im done (for now) but as you can tell im not really good at going straight to the point sorry for writing about 10 paragraphs love you queen vivan las escritoras latinas 🤞
1. honestly i find a pic that fits the vibe i want the book to give before i even write the story then i just somehow find a way to incorporate the cover
ex) eldia’s cover is jean with wine all over him, iykyk there’s an exact scene in eldia that references the cover
2. thank u so much 🥲 the ppl who have stuck around the longest always say the most sweet stuff bc yall really have been alongside me for so many years now and were like growing together which is kinda cool
3. i wanted a name that had ambrose and elijah both in it and it was either elrose or embrose but i ended up liking elrose more, embrose was too similar to ambrose
4. i don’t mind the length of the message at all! i love love love reading all the stuff i receive and the ones that are the longest stick with me the most. 🫶🏼

I’m running on 4 hours of sleep, caffeine, chicken tenders and spite so this is going to be chaotic and rambling and short let’s goooooo
… screaming crying throwing things losing my mind that was SO GOOD YET SO PAINFUL. I will need ten business days just to recover from that.
Goodness. My heart ACHES for Crosshair. I mean... it always has. I have always felt such deep sorrow when it comes to him. But this just... It took me out.
Crosshair has always craved connection, trust, and loyalty. He needs it so badly and this episode just proves how far he’ll go for that loyalty. He bonds with Mayday, even over that short period of time, and he can’t leave him, not like that. He can still save him. He can keep this connection he’s made. Except. No. No he can’t. The empire won’t save Mayday they won’t save anyone they think is too “weak” or who isn’t “useful”. The absolute devastation and suffering on Crosshair’s face after all that time of half dragging this man through snow and ice. After having to huddle for even a little bit of warmth. After surviving in unbelievable odds. And then to not only have Mayday die but have him be given up on? When his outcome could’ve been different? It destroys Crosshair. You can see it. Written all over his face. In his body language. In his voice. In the resolved way he drops to the ground and finally gives up fighting to stay conscious. This need for connection, to survive through connection to others, really really sticks out to me. Because that’s it right there, right? You can survive. But only if you’ve got people you trust and who care about you to watch your back. Every person Crosshair thinks can do that for him has left or is ‘gone’. The batch is gone. Cody is gone. And now Mayday who he dragged through the snow to save is gone. Crosshair forms bonds with people everywhere he goes and he doesn’t do well without those bonds. I could write a whole book about that but I’ll stop now 😅
I want to touch on that scene at the end. I think the wording is interesting “you might survive”. This idea of survival is so poignant in Crosshair’s story in particular. Mayday calls the two of them survivors at one point too. This idea of surviving and doing what is necessary is so engrained in Crosshair’s story that it’s impossible to ignore. While I am worried and scared about the implications of that last scene - experimentation, taking away his agency and his control, and many possibilities of him dying or being controlled in this season - I am holding out hope that his story will be done justice and he’ll end up surviving, as he has always done, and he’ll get away from the empire. AND he will not die this season bc I say so 😅
I know we are all terrified of the possibility of him dying and I am here to say that I don’t think he will. There are a few reasons why I think he won’t. One is that his story arc would make no sense with a redemption by death storyline. After the suffering and what we’ve seen him go through. Death as the end game? It makes for poor storytelling. Two is that he’s such an integral part of the story as a whole that I just don’t think it would make sense for the writers to kill him off after hyping his storyline this season. Like… I just wouldn’t be able to wrap my head around it if that happens. It would just be a lazy (I guess that’s the right word) ending for him. And I will hold out hope that we aren’t taking the easy way out since we’re making him suffer so badly.
I hope that made coherent sense! I loved this episode. This season has really been great and I’m so excited (and terrified) for next week!

I’m on the 3rd IPB book, Barbarian Lover, which I’m SO excited about because I love Kira. I think she’s my favorite girl possibly bc she reminds me of me
I was curious how khui resonance works and I think it’s interesting that it may be connected to fertility and maybe that’s why she and girls on birth control haven’t resonated? Idk if that is the reason as I’m only a few chapters in.
One thing I’m a little disappointed about though is that she’s a woman who can’t have children who’s sad about it. Of course that can be a crushing experience but I NEVER see characters who can’t have characters and are okay/happy about it. But like I said, I haven’t read the entire book so idk how things progress.
Despite that, the book is already so good and I am devastated for her, not just about her inability to have kids but about her place in the tribe. OH AND THE EVIL ALIENS ARE COMING BACK??
I love her dynamic with Aehako. Man is NOT giving up lol.

Can I please hear about how Idia will turn Rollo into a popsicle stand because of Big Chill(definitely also have the shroud give said “Judge” the “why you suck”/“reasons you suck” speech). Can I also just see Epel and Riddle also going straight after Rollo after separating from everyone and going alien(at least these two get their ONE ally to help hide omnitrix. Idia has only Ortho, and Ortho not there with him 🥲) aka What exactly they did to Rollo during Glorious Masquerade?(Rollo will never find out about the three being aliens at all that’s for sure 🙂)
Ahh... Glorious masquerade... The event that can ship catered to me along a great plot and cards. Also the church cunt.
Tbh glorious masquerade might just be a bit above beans day in terms on fave events, just bc it's that fun. :3
I will also cover for each 3 cases the event after the flowers spread, because before that it would be literally the same as cannon. U-Ub
Idia
Man is more reserved, firstly 'sacrificing' himself when he, Azul and Malleus are left alone, mostly so the 2 won't question it at all. If they were more, most likely someone like silver or Riddle who have a strong sense of justice and little personal danger awareness to actually realise it's better to leave him off.
As big chill, both Malleus and Azul are used to low temperatures, so Idia being calm and in half transformation allows the 2 to be close enough without getting too cold. :'3
Freezing the flowers also seems to wilt them with minimum damage, so Idia is great against them. He doesn't really open up his wings, until Rollo uses his UM. That is probably when Idia relies on the fact that he can fly to put distance in between them and the human torch, while also using the wings to try and push the fire off. He also starts his rant/speech about what Rollo does being messed up and as someone who stopped Ortho's overBlot too and dealt with even more devastating consequences(book 6), man has some right to him. He knows how Rollo must've felt, so he has firsthand experience and is the guy that absolutely is the best for this talk. Doesn't mean that he isn't tearing a new one as mean as possible. :'3
Since this takes place, cannonically, after book 6, Azul would absolutely know Idia's secret and make his dissappearance more believable to Malleus. Azul would also enter on defense while Malleus is just pouring his nerves on the church twink and Idia as half big chill is managing the damage around. Azul is also the one who helps Idia return to the trio with a believable motive.
Riddle
Man pulls out an early sacrifice and uses ghostfreak to go around.
Before the glomasq trio can get to the bell tower, Rollo is already beat up and the bell is rung. Riddle was just secs away from strangling the church twink. Deuce was probably just making excuses for Riddle and trying really hard to not punch someone/something. :'3
Epel
Rook. That's it... Rook... French he-man beats up a French church twink in 4k ultra HD and Epel's only worry is if he has enough popcorn. U-U9
Epel uses Diamond head to help Rook get up the tower fast and as such it's easier to punt Rollo. :3
Before that, Rook promised Epel that this is more or so a holiday from the hero duty, and he will fulfill his declaration. Even if that means beating up a twink. :'3

Random Lore & Fun Facts about Yearning the Shadow of the Moon and Befriending the Sunshine FF #1
I posted this earlier on my Twitter, but might as well post it here as well since I got nothing else better to do. If you haven't read it, you should, because I spoil the plot in this post. (https://archiveofourown.org/works/45415192/chapters/114265858)
Summary: Wednesday Addams was transferred to Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry after her recent attempts of murder. Initially wanting to leave the school, plans were changed once her interest peaked when finding out there were recent murders at the Forbidden Forest, and a bubbly Hufflepuff that growled. Wednesday became curious whether there is a connection between the two. To learn the truth, Wednesday Addams accidentally befriended her polar opposite, Enid Sinclair.
It's starts off as a crack turned angst fanfic. It gets really sad and tragic per chapter. If that's your cup of tea, try it. If not, totally get it.
When I started writing this story, my goal was to lure my readers for a crack hehe haha fanfic with the most chaotic storyline and then give them most devastating heartache possible.
Wednesday was not supposed to die and Eugene was supposed to rescued her last minute. But I scraped it bc it was not entertaining enough for me.
The scene where students were ogling at Enid and them falling onto their knees was heavily inspired by what I saw in the comments when Emma drops a selfie. It almost didn’t make the cut. But I found it funny enough to keep it.
When working on Part 2, I wanted to heavily center the story with the concept of the 5 stages of grief. Where Enid would process Wednesday’s lies easier and moved on, while Wednesday would be stuck on denial but it was too complicated to heavily focus on so I changed it
The whole Tyler and Xavier being infatuated with Wednesday was to demonstrate how stupid the “love” triangle was by exaggerating it. It was also inspired by this fanart where if Wednesday was in a dating visual novel.
I actually thought of making it as a visual novel but I was caught up writing this story.
When Enid was revealed to be a Death Eater, I actually wrote a scene where she was kidnapped by her friends ( The nightshade) and they forced her to cast a patronus which might kill her. I ended up scraping it bc it got too dark
I never watched the Harry Potter movies or read the book when I completed Part I. My only qualifications was reading fanfics of Harry Potter and researching on Wikia. So if the lore is weird, yea that’s why. (I did ended up watching the movie afterward)
During the winter ball scene, I had Tyler’s dad made a whole deal and arrest Enid for the student murders during the event which she would be locked up in Azkaban. Wednesday would write letters to her so she won’t be lonely. Again, I ended up scrapping it as well.
When writing the sad and heartbreak scenes, I listened to so much Taylor Swift, Joji, Kesha and Gracie Abram. My Spotify wrapped up is screwed
Even though, I mentioned Enid being half Greek and half Irish in the author’s note in Part I. She doesn’t speak any Greek bc she doesn’t want to associate with her birth family and refuses to speak it.
The reason I choose Enid to be quite popular was that she was compensating her lonely childhood and having no family or friends growing up
I almost wrote Wednesday as a quidditch player but I scrapped it bc I rather have her as a duelist and be part of the dueling club. It just made more sense.

Genshin angst prompt TW: noncon, torture, attempted suicide
Prompt where Kaeya was raped by Eroch and told Crepus about it before the coming of age party. Crepus goes into a rage and contacts Varka to talk about it at dawn winery after the party. Kaeya goes on patrol to stay away from Eroch, but Eroch finds out that Kaeya snitched. So he works with Dottore to set Ursa on Crepus since they just tamed it. Which causes Crepus to die before telling varka about it. And Kaeya, who sees Crepus die feels guilty bc he told Crepus about Eroch and he’s the reason he died and shit like that. So, decides to off himself by lying to Diluc about being a spy. Cause he knows that Diluc is gonna try to kill him. Except he’s hit in the head and confused so he runs away and turns up later with burns and amnesia. After he’s healed, he doesn’t remember Diluc disowning him or that Crepus died bc of Eroch so he goes home to the winery. He finds a letter to Varka from Crepus and send it off. And then later that day, Eroch comes, and Kaeya’s like, why do u scare me? And then Eroch attacks him and rapes him, telling him about why Crepus died.
Meanwhile, the letter sent to Varka was an account of what Kaeya told Crepus, bc Crepus was worried something may happen to him and he couldn’t warn anyone. He suspected. Varka reads the letter and realizes the Eroch had Crepus killed and got Diluc into a rage to leave the knights. When he questions where Eroch went, he finds out no one has seen him and he realizes that no one is there to protect Kaeya. So he grabs Jean and some knights, and books it to the winery. They come upon the staff trying to break down Crepus’ door because Eroch has them locked in there. Varka busts through the door and sees Eroch trying to strangle a beat up Kaeya while he violates him. He’s pulled off Kaeya and Jean and adelinde try to help Kaeya, who’s struggling breathing. Jean heals him enough that they can take him to the Cathedral. Eroch is thrown into the dungeons, where he’s watched and interrogated.
When Kaeya wakes up, he’s devastated that he got his father killed, and tries to kill himself again. He’s stopped and has to have someone with him at all times. Varka writes a letter detailing what happened and sends it off with a recon knight, to try to find Diluc as soon as possible. He keeps his hands full, making sure Kaeya is being cared for, and the fatui are promptly booted from mondstadt. He writes more letters to send off, in hopes that someone will find Diluc. Kaeya goes through a lot of depression, and kinda loses it. He’s catatonic for awhile but is eventually pulled out of it by jean when she says that he’d be leaving Diluc in the world by himself. And how would Diluc feel when he learns everything and know that he didn’t get to see his brother again.
With everyone’s help, Kaeya pulls himself together enough to live through life bleakly. He starts training again under supervision and eventually gets the Calvary captain position, after struggling for half a year.
Meanwhile, 6 months after Diluc left mondstadt, he’s tracked down by a knight. He’s kinda an asshole about it but reads through the letters and finds out everything he didn’t know. And realizes that he maybe shouldn’t have left without questioning why Eroch was such an ass about his father killing Ursa. And then then he panics later on when he’s travels back to mondstat bc he gets more letters about Kaeya attempting to kill himself. Then he realizes that night he and Kaeya fought, Kaeya was trying to die. When he gets back to mondstat, everyone is like, omg ur back but Diluc just rushes to the knights, ignoring everyone. He makes it, finds Kaeya and they hug it out.
That’s about as far as I got. Tell me ur thoughts!
