PLOT DROP 13: SHE SENDS HER REGARDS

Kor’Sel’Koo: One and half times the size of Earth with twice the population. While the planet houses so many, it rarely feels cramped. Over the last twenty millennia, Ly’Daesun have carefully and thoughtfully shaped the landscape to better sustain their population. Gently terraced mountains and reinforced cavern systems have been shaped to provide more extensive living space for the people that live there. Entire cities with artificial sunlight flourish below the surface, standing the test of years of wind, weather, natural disaster, and influx of population.

1,700 years ago, a colony of Erkuss settled in one of the less populated portions of the continent. After some conflicts between the Erkuss population and the Ly’Daesun, the conflicts have largely been ameliorated.

Major and minor settlements are connected due to a vast intercontinental network of underground railways, as well as exquisitely natural tunnels and bridges for foot and bus.

On the equivalent of October 25, Prosperity touches down on the city-state-island of Twarvu. The city features multiple levels of space. The air-and-spaceport, a ski resort, and some industrial buildings are located in the mountains. A variety of gardens, small farms, commercial buildings, apartments, mansions and thoughtfully constructed buildings exist on the main surface. Most buildings are landscaped, with rooftop and building-side gardens. Below the surface, the caverns feature a robust nightlife and chic residences.

Twarvu Population: 87% Far’Ly’Dae, 8% Erkuss, 3% Vanneer, 1% Carrek, <1% Umbra (appearing to live as Erkuss)

Locations of Interest in Twarvu:

Ergo: A vineyard, meditation retreat, and event center. The on-site catering company operates using the same locally-sourced mostly-vegetarian ingredients as the on-site restaurant. All event centers feature elegant pergolas with surprisingly weather-proof retractable roof and walls. Located on the surface level.

Weegl: An open market with a variety of local goods and art. This location favors local crafts, not imported items. Located on the cavern level.

Devisonian Gallery: An intergalactic art gallery featuring different wings for Earth Art, Twarvu Art, Greater Kor’Sel’Koo Art, and “Points of Beauty” sourced from other planets. The rooftop garden often hosts events (catered by a variety of restaurants) and concerts. Located on the surface level.

Water Therapeutics: A trendy Ly’Daesun owned water therapy center that involves immersing one’s self in a private water chamber with pulsing waves. It is supposed to be very relaxing. Located on the cavern level.

Yesserdi Resort: A ski resort located on the mountain level. Most of Twarvu is in moderate springtime weather at present, but Yesserdi features skiing and sledding for everyone and hot chocolate for the non-Far’Ly’Dae guests. The restaurant itself has a limited but wonderful menu.

Ux-Traction: A nightclub and sports gaming center that feels a bit like a Lucky Strike bowling center for local sports. Located on the cavern level.

Revvly: A capsule hotel with in-capsule instant food machines. Located on the cavern level

Cresstly: A hotel featuring suites and cabins. Located on the surface level.

Nyver: A mixology locale that caters to all species- includes a menu of water in various forms (frozen, encased in thin layers of lining) suitable for Ly’Daesun and all, plus a small but super-fun alcoholic drink menu in similar molecular gastronomy for liquids fashion. Features a small dance floor.

Locations of Interest in Mluvp (an island-city-state a thirty minute tunnel bus ride away)

Clay Pail: A new spa run by Laykul. It is rather new, and is struggling to find its feet. They do serve some good fruit bowls, though. The crew has... gift certificates for free services here.

Darker Image: A cutting edge store for technology, including suped-up media players to house Earth songs. It’s also got a dome laser light show theater attached.

Barkbank Park: An amusement waterpark with technologically incredible watercoasters. Features a very well-decorated lazy river.

Slurps: A drink shop featuring alcoholic, water, and non-alcoholic drinks that offers small private theaters to watch films with friends.

MC would need to do a great deal of goading and teasing for Belphegor to voluntarily get strenuous with their activities. Don't get me wrong, he loves MC and he wants to make them feel good, but if he can get that done while lying on his back, why wouldn't he?

However...there's one sure way to get this demon going.

Sharing MC with Beel has Belphie truly shining as an evil mastermind. He's clever, deceptively so. And Beel's only too eager to serve, to make MC come apart between the two of them.

Beel's normal gentleness also tends to slip a little if he's sharing MC with his twin. He'll still never hurt them, unless they like it. But he follows Belphie's lead and that strength of his...

The bed rarely survives the three of them playing together, and the moment that frame starts cracking, Belphie paints MC's neck in lovebites, and sweet Beel leaves finger-shaped bruises on their hips.

MC's half convinced Belphie manipulates sex to cause collateral damage on purpose, just so he can see the look on Lucifer's face.

Diavolo

It was 100% an accident...mostly.

In his defence, he and MC rarely ever actually get as far as the bed. More often it's his desk, the shower, against the wall in the hallway with their hand over his mouth.

Having the space, and time and freedom to actually take MC in a real bed felt...liberating, and the prince got a little carried away.

The moment he heard the resounding crack, Diavolo froze, realising they were now at an angle, and MC, the little menace, started laughing.

Diavolo let out a good natured chuckle and swiftly scoops them up off the wrecked mattress. "Well then, my desk, or the shower?"

He ignores the bedframe cracking, whining as MC pulled away from him to leave him at the edge all over again.

As for Luka's reaction to that, he would probably get a good chuckle out of that and it's a reaction he totally expects from Ash.

Would be surprised but keep it cool as they get off MC and tidy up their clothes. And then they would calmly and politely ask Gramps about what he needs from them or MC. Honestly, they would be ready to continue again once Gramps leave them 😆

Luka's reaction to this is honestly respect; there's a chance he wouldn't be able to keep that cool if Gramps walk in on him and Jackal.

Santana

Would yelp in surprise and quickly get off MC. Would then apologize to Gramps profusely, face red as they fluster. Probably would not be able to continue after this out of pure embarrassment just killing the mood 🤭

I don't think Luka would have a lot of reaction to this. It's the most expected reaction in general to getting walked into, especially by your partner's grandparent, right? But still, he'll approve of Santana apologizing politely.

The only one who might be confident (and crazy) enough to not move at all and just turn to face Gramps with a lopsided grin on their face and asks him nicely whether he can give them and MC some private space so they and MC can continue peacefully 💀 It's not the first time someone accidentally walked in on them getting frisky.

Luka's first reaction to that would be surprise, of course. They did what?! The stunt Skylar pulled might actually win some of Luka's begrudging respect, whether he realizes it or not. Skylar's got massive balls, that's for sure, to do something so cheeky to someone as intimidating as Gramps.

i made the joke earlier about how steddyhands fans tend to like edstede the least of all the pairs, and i just wanted to elaborate bc actually i do have more to say about this

when i first watched the show i didn't really participate in the fandom (so i don't know pre-s2 fandom drama), i was neutral about izzy and i suppose i liked edstede the most simply by default. in general in season 1 i thought their relationship was charming back when the show was still firmly in the realm of a comedy. then s2 happened...

i wouldn't say that s2 ruined edstede for me permanently because i still like them, but i will say that it definitely reshaped how i see their relationship. suddenly their relationship was stagnant, going in circles, and generally starting to feel more like active bad influences on each other. which is wild considering how in s1 the whole crux of it was that stede and ed were actively making each other more authentic people. i will say though that i personally feel the reason edstede fell flat to me in s2 was mostly due to ed's behavior and the way stede overlooks it. ed's behavior in s2 will always be one of my biggest complaints of s2 (the rest of the issues are more technical).

recently i've seen the opinion that edstede are now MORE problematic than edizzy, which i don't exactly agree with. i agree with the sentiment that with all the developments in s2 edstede feels worse, but i think that has more to do with the fact that their relationship issues are far more tangible to the majority of the audience. with edizzy their issues stem from an intense bond forged by a deep codependence that is pushed to extremes. simply put their dynamic is rare. (i want to quickly note that this doesn’t make their relationship better narratively; there’s a space for both in story telling and both are equally valuable.) edstede's issues on the other hand are more grounded, to the point where most people have experienced some level of their conflicts in their life whether that be firsthand or secondhand. so it's not that their problems are worse so much as more people have stronger reactions because they can relate directly. not saying people don't relate to edizzy, it's more about the scale to which people relate.

my famous example is breaking bad (spoilers for a decade-old series) but i think one of the reasons people hate skylar so much more than walt (besides the obvious misogyny) is that they can relate to the anger of being cheated on while it's harder to relate to the feeling of your husband secretly being a drug lord. like sure his thing on paper is ten times worse but audiences usually relate strongly to the things they personally relate to.

edizzy will always be worse on paper (the toe incident alone makes sure of that) but edstede now feels worse is what i'm getting at. and sure i know izzy emotionally matured leaps and bounds in s2 but unfortunately that doesn't fix edizzy. in order for it to actually be a healthy relationship they both need to grow, so yeah they're still firmly in the toxi yuri category.

anyway i actually do like them a whole lot, but they also make me angry on izzy and the crew's behalf. and on a personal level, i just tend to prefer non-canon ships because i feel like i have more wiggle room. that and if they're canon i'm usually satisfied with that canon so i don't find myself hyper-fixating as much. hence why i didn't really get into the fandom after s1, despite liking the show more at that point.

this is just my observation but i think a lot of the reasons people are now drifting from edstede and into the safety of non-canon ships is simply because s2 stripped their relationship of some of their whimsy. a lot of people are angry with ed and stede and are seeking refugee amongst ships that don’t feel like they have to confront the glaring holes in their relationship.

but these are just my musings i don’t speak for anyone but myself.
