Hello! I'm Gabriel, the guy behind cosplay leatherworking studio Armory Rasa.

My specialty is tooled veg-tan with a fantasy flair, which includes armor, masks, bags, quivers, horse armor, knife sheaths, and random one-offs like the cat saddle. As a final note -- I don't talk politics on this blog, but with leatherworking as a field that’s heavily populated by older, right-wing-leaning men, and with the increasingly vocal contingent of white supremacists in reenactment circles (particularly viking circles) who would co-opt and misrepresent history for their own ends, I would like to clearly state that I am not onboard with any of that shit. Those people don’t own the hobby, and they don’t get to speak for everyone else in it. He has a twin sister who ran away from the group when he was 16. The night that happened, his Anemo mysteriously turned black.

Turning my notifications for Instagram off I press the button on the side of the phone and lock it before setting it down next to me. Grabbing the last box remaining in the living room I drag it closer to me and open it up. It was a late move in present from my dad and step-mom. Inside it was filled with various manga that I had been eyeing for awhile, a photo album that I would definitely be looking through later, my beloved nascar blanket that I had forgotten in the move, an assortment of fuzzy socks, and a replica of my Red Bull car. Grabbing the box containing the replica car, I gently open the box and take the car out. Dad and I had this tradition that started after seeing Addie’s collection of her cars. Every year she would have a replica mini car made to display in her living room. When I got into Indy Car dad surprised me with my own miniature replica car and since then we’ve kept the tradition going. Walking over to the shelves filled with trophies, various helmets from the past, and lastly the 5 Indy car miniatures I put the mini Red Bull next to the 2022 Penske. Picking up my phone to see if Addie or Luce text back to my earlier text about when a good time to record the next episode of Don’t tell the Grid was for them I am surprised to see instead of a response from either and a dm request from someone on Instagram. Thinking it was probably a random fan or person I didn’t think much of it and was ready to delete the request when I saw that it was from Lando.

Lando: hey, super weird to message you this way but I don’t have your number and thought it would be weirder if I got it from Max 😅

Lily: ummm hi. Thank you for not doing that. What’s up ?

Once again I'm being the devil's advocate.

I've seen some posts complaining about the Witcher Netflix not being close enough to the books. But in my humble opinion, the books are kind of a mess.

Seriously, I love the books, they're very good, but let's be honest, I think the story could've benefited of a bit more planning. Like at some points; especially towards the end, it seemed like the books where more like a series of very well written scenes held together by the reader's goodwill and a prayer.

So when I see people complain that the series isn't an exact replica of the books, I'm here thinking: "yeah, they need to do that for the kind of story they want to tell"

Like C'mon, I know everyone who likes the books wants to see their favorite scene in the screen (if I don't get the soup scene I'll scream), and it's not like the show is without criticism (season 2 was a mess) but let's be fair, it's not the worst thing on the planet either.

Finished Cyberpunk 2077, and the first headcanon of the day is: that whole "you have six months or so left to live" schpiel is bullcrap. It's a joke. Literally. Alt was trying to be funny but ascending her mortal self and spending half a century trapped behind the blackwall left her sense of humour... twisted.

I just don't believe the explanation. I can believe that the Relic is slowly overwriting my brain with Johnny Silverhand's engram, but the idea that it's also overwriting my DNA? Nah. I don't think so. The whole situation is so under-explained I refuse to buy it. Sure, my V still has random bleeding episodes after getting rid of Johnny, but that's a temporary symptom that can and will be dealt with in time.

Johnny's probably laughing his ass off after Alt asked him if her joke was funny or not. Meanwhile, V is spitting curse after curse at Alt from wherever she and Judy are at because the Aldecaldos' contact just told V that they're fine and just need to take some medicine to recover from their psychological ordeal.

Oh, and my second headcanon: Saul isn't dead, because my V did the (Don't Fear) the Reaper Ending but didn't want to stay in Night City, so left with the Aldecaldos (who already, canonically, considered her de facto Clan without needing to do their ending proper), and took Judy with her. The Sun ending wouldn't have been her style anyway.

Third headcanon: my V is a complete fucking nerd. She adored the Witcher franchise ("Come on, Judy! It's a classic!" ) and Jackie got her a battle-ready replica of Geralt's Gwynbleidd. She used it throughout her entire career in Night City, much to the chagrin of anyone who actually cares for her physical safety. "I can't believe it! Only you would bring a fucking sword to a gun fight!" "Hey! I'll have you know I've fought countless people who also brought swords to a gun fight!" "They're fighting you, V. They're the ones bringing swords to a sword fight."

Making replica God-Killers poses a challenge because of the bow. People would try to draw it and it would probably just snap, making bows is a very sophisticated process, more so than even making swords. So they would probably have to use a very stiff and unyielding material as the core to stop it from bending at all tbh, and plate wood or wood-like materials on the outside. I also imagine packaging the spear would be challenging because long.

Those 'weapons' wouldn't be real. they would just be decorations/props/toys. The kind I know (we had some at uni and one at my internship place) were made from a soft material so they wouldn't hurt. If these replicas were made out of metal/wood/cloth/ect. they would be super novelty. It's more likely to be made from foam, plastic or resin. And if they are made from plastic or resin they could be designed in a way that they can be taken apart for shipping.

Not a prop, but while looking at what those prop weapons are usually made of I found this Frostmourne Blade. It's an acrylic standee but with a sword instead of a character.

I DID have a Harry Potter phase from when I read n reread the series maybe 4 times as a teen. They were awesome. But nah im over it. Its still cool, whatever, but im over it.

N surprisngly, Star Wars too. I used to worship the movies, the comics, the video games, anything and everything I could get my hands on. Fckin nerd for that world. Now its meh its ok I guess. Its probably tht the new stuff turned me off completely because of how much theyre lacking in quality that its that obvious its a money grab.
