The Karnak Temple Complex. Known from Arabic ‘Khurnak’ meaning "fortified village", it comprises a vast mix of decayed temples 𓉞𓉐 “hw.t”, chapels, pylons, and other buildings near Luxor 𓇋𓊪𓏏𓊨𓏏𓏪 “ip.t-swt.t”, in Egypt - Beloved Land 𓇾𓌸𓂋𓆵𓇋𓊖𓊖 “tA-meri”.𓏤 Construction at the complex began during the reign of Senusret I (𓄊𓋴𓂋𓏏𓊃𓈖) ‘Man of Wosret’, Kheperkare (𓇳𓆣𓂓) ‘the Ka of Ra is Created’ in the Middle Kingdom and continued into the Ptolemaic period, although most of the extant buildings date from the New Kingdom. The area around Karnak was the ancient Egyptian 𓂋𓐝𓎀𓀂𓀭𓏪 “rmT” Ipet-isut ("The Most Selected of Places") and the main place of worship 𓇼𓄿𓀃 “dwA” of the 18th dynasty Theban Triad with the god Amun 𓇋𓏠𓈖𓁩 “imn” as its head. It is part of the monumental city of Thebes 𓌀𓏏𓈈𓊖 “wAs.t”. The Karnak complex gives its name 𓂋𓈖 “rn” to the nearby, and partly surrounded, modern village of El-Karnak, 2.5 kilometres (1.6 miles) north of Luxor. Diadem of Tutankhamun

This gold diadem was designed to secure the wig of the king during ceremonies and to protect his forehead in the hereafter.

It is a multicolored masterpiece, decorated with gold cloisonnes inlaid with circles of carnelian and edged with inlays of turquoise, lapis lazuli, and blue glass.

At the center front are the protective deities of Upper and Lower Egypt: the vulture goddess, Nekhbet, with inlaid obsidian eyes, and the cobra goddess, Wadjet, inlaid with semiprecious stones and glass.

The papyrus flowers on either side are of malachite and the knot at the back is of chalcedony.

The Death Mask of Tutankhamun (𓏏𓅱𓏏𓋹𓇋𓏠𓋹𓋾𓉺𓇑) “twt-ankh-imn~ankh-hekA-iwnw-sw)” ‘The Living Image of Amun, Living Ruler, King of Iwnw (Heliopolis)’.𓏤 It is a gold 𓋞 “nbw” death mask of the 18th-dynasty ancient Egyptian 𓂋𓐝𓎀𓀂𓀭𓏪 “rmT” Pharaoh 𓉐𓉼 “pr-eA” (Great House) Tutankhamun (reigned 1332–1323 BC). It was discovered by Howard Carter in 1922 in tomb KV62 and is now housed in the Egyptian Museum in Cairo. The death 𓅓𓏏𓀐 “m(w)t” mask is one of the most well known works of art in the world.
