I have been following some of the fan translations and the second book seems intense! Would love to hear what you think about them.

thank you! 💚💚💚 I'm not really sure why you think I don't like the earlier arcs though, I love pretty much all the characters and their storis! (I think 5 and 1 are my favorite of the past episodes, though 6 infected me with the Shroud brainrot something fierce.) I just...ESPECIALLY love diasomnia. :') but there is room in my heart for all of these dweebs! like, who among us is not just as ride-or-die for Adeuce as they are for us.

that said, I don't really follow the other adaptations like the manga (aside from a dip-in just to see the new Yuus) or the novels, though I keep meaning to check them out! I do like seeing the differences between the different forms of media, and how certain things get adapted one way or another! but alas, time/a lack of accessibility stands in our way more often than not. :( someday...someday I will have time to consume all of the media...

can i just say. and this is probably a niche hill to die on. that i am so gobsmacked every time someone vaguely hints at the idea that jotaro doesn't care meaningfully for the other crusaders, usually particularly kakyoin and joseph, when those two actually tend to be the ones he reacts to being hurt the hardest

like he cares for his loved ones!!!! that literally plays into his character motives in every single part he shows up in!!! stop lying to me!!!!!!!

@auuwmk okay so. the content has been revised already and i'm getting this all secondhand from tweets so i may be missing some context. i am taking this information from the linked tweet threads please read it because it'll explain this better than i do

originally, kaizenix's base genre was 'romance fantasy'.

kim dokja was saying that yuri had been performing her role as a rofan protag by being the fiancee of the first prince, but then hsy came and escapes the genre by... making yuri become king (instead of the queen married to the king)? the thing is, there are female protagonists in rofans who do become king. yuri holding a position of power is not breaking out of the genre :/

then han sooyoung says the phrase 'a romance fantasy without romance won't be popular'. a romance fantasy without romance... is just fantasy. but.

it seems the romance fantasy genre in the first place was created due to male readers bitching about female leads having romance in a fantasy story, pushing the stories away into the romance genre and leading to the creation of the rofan genre to keep a distinction from other romances. but then there was a problem with 'romance fantasies without romance' still being labled as romance fantasy just because there's a female lead.

there's something to think about when there are so many fantasy stories with male protags having a romantic interest or even entire harems but the it isn't labeled romance. but when the protagonist is a woman...

there were revisions trying to fix the issues readers had, but eventually they just removed the romance part of kaizenix's original genre entirely (leaving it just as fantasy). they were very apologetic over this whole situation in the author's notes for the chapters this occured in [ep 72 (5) + (6)]

trying to sink into the Vaggie and Lute toxic yuri but keep getting hung up on how much Vaggie just, canonically, doesn't care

like, a good toxic ANYTHING should be obsessive! there should be passion from both sides- even if on one side it's mostly just fear / disgust- the people shouldn't be able to stand being in the same ROOM without getting overwhelmed with the need to either run out of there or go mess with the other person

and while sure Vaggie clearly doesn't like Lute, and hates it when Lute is actively messing around in her life, it's also true that she.... can walk right past Lute without even noticing

Lute noticed. Lute can't be on the same plane of EXISTANCE without wanting to ruin Vaggie's life

but Vaggie's reaction to the woman who cut out her eye and ripped off her wings and called her filth while condemning her to hell is kinda giving more uggggggghhhh than wild all consuming hate, y'know?

and that makes sense! For Vaggie the worst part about the day Lute maimed her was realizing maybe she herself had been the monster all along, what with the near child murder and then meeting a kind compassionate person down in hell, among all the people Vaggie was just slaughtering wholesale

so yeah, not really a Lute-centric trauma for Vaggie, even if Lute was the one physically scarring her as a result

from Lute's perspective here's one of the best examples of HER people, the exorcists, turning traitor and failing and implying that maybe Lute could fail somehow too. So to HER that sure is personal and very Vaggie orientated. Finding out the failed version of you is actually being happy and doing fine without the position you value or the respect of the power structure you protect, is in fact CHALLENGING your position and the validity of everything you are and the power structure that supports your sense of self, is a plenty good reason to wanna MAKE that alternate you SUFFER and REGRET leaving behind what you have. Validates you being you, right?

(although im sorry lute but not struggling when a lady is looming over you and asking her to kill you so she can fix HER mistake and then going into rage mode the moment she stops paying attention to you is kinda- it's kinda-)

compare that to Vaggie only paying attention to Lute when Lute MAKES her, it's like.... even after Lute kills Dazzle, Vaggie still just does not feel things personally enough to let Lute mess up her new life

she SPARES Lute, she's not even the one who rips off Lute's arm in a little bit of non-lethal REVENGE

no, Lute does that to herself, to get to Vaggie after Vaggie dares to look away from her and not do a murder on Lute for old time's sake, and that's a good summary of how one-sided the obsession here feels so far. Lute's yelling about torturing Vaggie to death and Vaggie's like "you're pathetic. go live your pathetic life somewhere else" while walking away

so while Lute might be feeling the toxic yuri vibes, canon Vaggie is not even sitting at the same table as her, she's off living her new life of mercy and love and hope with her gf and she doesn't even CARE whether or not Lute dies mad about it :/

....now... if Lute hurts Charlie at any point in the future, or even if she hurts another rebelling angel like say maybe Emily... THEN... well..

jasico server was chatting about the cupid scene and jason getting nico's memories blasted straight into his brain and how jason being shot with one of cupid's arrows while with nico and this was just never brought up in canon again and now i'm thinking like...what if that's just how cupid's arrows work? not by magically manifesting love for someone out of nothing, but by giving someone the perspective that'd make them fall in love naturally? jason gets a front row seat to nico's memories and instantly understands him intimately and can trust him completely without any doubt or suspicion

so what if jason, after slowly realizing he's totally in love with nico, just thought back to the arrow incident and it made him second-guess everything? because maybe he's only feeling this way because cupid hit him with an arrow with only nico was around and it's no different than any other god messing with his love life

the way it probably took him a second to find her after he abandoned Joker and chased after her. how the bomb evidently did detonate.

i'll ponder forever over how that moment went down and how he prevented the explosion from killing her, but not enough to save her from being severely injured & unconscious for a week recovering. how he spent hours at her bedside in case she happened to wake up that day, how he went to her hospital room on that day as well despite "I had to bury my father again today. I did it with my family." And having every beyond reasonable excuse to just not that day,,. he still made time and effort to check in on her.

the day dc treats harley's suicidal ideation as exactly what it is and let's the characters around her acknowledge it will be a glorious win for the community
