I remember many times when my grandmother would make off hand remarks about how testosterone would make me look like a joke. that it would be funny and unnatural for someone like me to have a beard.
before that i remember my mother outing me to my grandparents without my knowledge or consent. and then having to sit with both of them on different occasions for a year while they tried to tell me i was just a masculine woman. One where they thought it was okay to ask if I'd get pregnant if a potential partner "really really wanted it 🥺" (Which. sidenote. what the actual fuck??)
i remember the day after one of those conversations my mother took me into town for a "suprise" from my grandma. and they tried to make me get my ears pierced. even when i said i didn't want to. the only reason they stopped was because i had an autistic shutdown in public and they were too embarrassed to keep trying to force me into it. That happened 2 years ago. i have very real trauma from that day.
They never cared about my gender nonconformity until i came out.
They still seem to believe that I'd only be a man if i actually secretly hated myself.
what songs would you recommend to someone who wants to know what kind of music ateez makes?
ooooh okay this is a hard question bc their discography is SO diverse I feel like they really experiment with everything but this chart (missing their latest album) is a super helpful starting place if you know what kinda vibe you prefer
but my PERSONAL favorites that also show their range are inception, hala hala, turbulence, halazia, promise, take me home, be with you, cyberpunk, mist, guerrilla, eternal sunshine, answer, the real, django, fever, and outlaw (also shout out to silver light, youth, it's you, and crazy form from their most recent album. also everything if u like ballads and matz if u like hip hop) (it's killing me not listing more songs like it's actually painful they're soooooo good)
they're def more known for their anthemic songs and their performances but they have suuuuch a varied discography I feel like everyone could find something they like! also this flow chart is cool if u don't like that other chart
it's missing halazia and the world series but it covers the majority!! and then finally this tiktok is a cool way to quickly see but just know even this barely scratches the surface
sorry I couldn't give u a simpler answer and info dumped but thank u for giving me the opportunity 🫂
ps. HIGHLY recommend looking for performances when u find a song u like bc they're so fucking good. mvs too if it's a title track
Hey Aliesa, how have you been? I see you reblogging tnmn Art so I’m just wondering
Hey Magic! I'm happy to see you asking as it's definitely been a long time since I last posted any fanarts both here and Instagram. I'm just barely hanging with my anxiety currently up high especially trying to find a proper job in a very long time (I had some reoccurring health issues until last January though still cautious about it returning with some scares once awhile)
I do draw on some occasions but my motivation and my art skills seem to fluctuate. I don't have the strength to use colour pencils or markers like I used to do so I just have been just reblogging and queuing fanarts on things that had caught my interest (currently guilty gear)
Yeah I have been reblogging tnmn fanarts because I like the character designs for all the neighbours. They're charming and unique (nightmare mode really pushes this greatly). I really didn't expect to get to see more fan content when I first discovered this game before it really blew up popularity. Glad to see people take interest in the neighbours and explore them. I enjoyed games that had simple gameplay with colourful diverse casts with a few details and lore (Papa Louie, My Singing Monsters) which I honestly didn't expect TNMN would actually have and expand more. Looking forward when the next update.
But until then they will be at each other’s throats
Tbh, If you aren’t Black or Asian then I don’t think it’s fully appropriate to comment on like, any of this, especially even mentioning “the being at each others throats,” part if I’m being honest, like. Black ppl as a whole don’t really have much of an issue with anyone else, it’s usually just the other way around really and for the most part, we accept everyone (sometimes to a fault,) into our space and culture. Just as long as it’s not appropriative or making fun of us then it’s like, what can you do? There will always be conversations needed to be had in order to build some kind of common ground between poc but yeah.
