im def the type analyzing the technical or trend side of mcyt content creation (someday i will make the bdubs thumbnail analysis) and whenever jev's content comes up i really think about it. (should be said what im describing w his videos rn isnt a jab! he talked about trying to make one-off videos hitting trendy subjects and thats exactly what hes doing, and so i want to mention what i notice)

jev stated in one of his previous HC videos that his videos were on a decline. he pointed out some things that i imagine casual watchers wouldnt ever consider, but theres some key reasons as to why jev's HC series was doing poorly. Some he points out and others are things I also realized.

people are not likely to click on videos with episode numbers because they don't want to jump into a series they know nothing about. in turn, many people have started to not put episode numbers in their series titles at all (out of HC, bdubs. but youll notice this for other kinds of non-smp videos too). So when this is done, people wont assume it is a long running series, and are more likely to click it. "One off" content implies videos that are... one-off. Think snapshot reviews, build challenges, hardcore challenges... So two potential ways to improve views/have a better time in the algorithm is to drop numbers of episodes. No, not The only solution but its a pretty important thing.

this is a huge factor imo... how many recommended/home page videos do you get thrown at you related to minecraft that have nothing to do with series (or you wouldnt know due to the title)? All I get are hardcore videos, snapshot videos, and i have also gotten loads of Joel's (smallishbeans) "i did [thing] in minecraft" which have a shit ton of views. Those videos from him are a blatant example of "one off" videos that also try to pull you in with a simple title and premise.

Now looking back at jev. he said he was going to try these more one off videos, and hes started that with things like "things you didnt know about minecraft". the interesting part to me too is noticing 'repeats' of these kinds of videos... jev is not the first person to do a video like that, so you would think "why would you make it?" well, the thing is. youtub doesnt care. its gonna throw your video around and there is a good chance your "things you didnt know about minecraft" video may come up for some random person instead of someone else. it may show up for some kid who hadnt seen someone else's and so yours is the first. (and lets be real if 11 year olds are finding it they probably wont care its another and think 'oh boy, more things i didnt know about minecraft!')

On the smaller side I just notice how different some parts of newer videos have become- for some reason its kind of a thing to use shaders, a lot. most people wont use it through an entire video but often times its the intro. some people use shaders all the time. Additionally intros almost always consist of a user in f5 mode, facing the camera. I am sure that f5 mode thing started quite a while back (in terms of new mcyt) but caring about the visuals of an intro wasn't important a long time ago, it was hardly considered lol.

every time i think about these things its like im storing it in my brain for me to use but, hell if i am ever gonna make enough videos to apply it. regardless, the trend of videos can be seen in youtubers you watch if you look close enough. but even so we have lots of 'old school' people here that don't always change to fit these trends. if they have a loyal long time following, its less likely they will. (usually if its not titles- which i think is more common now- you may more obviously see it in thumbnail styles) but theres always a potential of people shifting slightly because the algorithm isnt playing very nice.

idont know how to say this without unintentionally sounding mean but this is the second funniest ask ive ever gotten. This is. This is awful. Someone needs to fix this. What’s wrong with you people? - legend did Not like warriors when they first met. hed definitely go a bit too far in insults (tho he kinda did that w most of them), though it was mostly jabs about military things and less about warriors himself

- when warriors starts playing along and lightheartedly answering legend's jabs back cues the start of a ~ beautiful friendship ~ and legend eases up on his more genuine insults

- legend and warriors end up having late night conversations when one of them is awake during the other's shift. its not rare for it to happen by any means, but it is uncommon so they enjoy the time when they can. this is usually when more of the more delirious comments and banter comes out to play. its one of those talks you have with your friend at 1-6am that starts with casual conversation, takes a sharp turn to trauma, and then dissolves into sleepy delirium

- sometimes they're just sitting together silently at night and one of them catches the other's eye and they both start fucking cackling for no reason. they settle down and then one of them fuckin giggles and they dissolve into a fucking fit of laughter again until someone tells them to shut up. (they do not shut up.)

- they fight so seamlessly together. its REALLY damn cool. you could swear theyve done this before, but in reality they just understand what the other person is thinking and a Look one of them shoots at the other just kinda spells everything out. all the plans and ideas - they know each other well enough to adapt to what the other person is doing and they definitely trust one another to pull off some of the more crazy stunts legend or warriors have thought up during a battle. if one of them says "duck" they do not fucking hesitate.

- very quickly, though not very easily, warriors becomes one of the first people legend goes to to confide in. if he does not want something sugarcoated, warriors is (one of) his best bets for that. it also goes the other way - legend does not sugarcoat anything and will readily tell warriors if hes being stupid.

- they both are very good at balancing seriousness and lighthearted comments, but theyre also capable of being Very Serious if a situation calls for it.

- warriors is very aware that legend could absolutely beat his ass. warriors is VERY aware that legend, when the vet is In The Zone, could absolutely fuck every single one of them up. he is very supportive of him. hes also very glad legend is on their side, especially when he witnesses the guy absolutely knock out a few black blooded monsters on his own.

- legend has definitely beaten warriors ass in many spar sessions and warriors always says he cheats or fought dirty. legend disagrees <3 u just suck, bro, get good :///

- warriors and legend bet but most of the time neither of them actually follow through with the bet's prize so sometimes theyll come up with the funniest fucking prizes and then say shit like "hey you owe me fifty bees, remember?" or "you still owe me half your inventory" or "dont i get to have the next [sweet food/good item] you get/are given?"

- just wait til you hear about the time warriors got legend to go swimming/run around with him in the rain. (not a lightning storm, but it was heavy rain. its very nice btw.)

There's apparently a guild, with mages and swords... is this like Fairy Tail? :0 (I don't like Fairy Tail but I always really liked the setting there ig. and the fact that most wizards use their fists and feet as much as sparkly shonen magic)

but yeah i think fairy tail would be a pretty good comparison for the setting, the magic system is a bit different (in fact i think the magic system in my OTHER ocverse w the magic school actually has more in common w the fairy tail one if anything) but generally speaking, well, they for sure have the guild part in common!

for the world as a whole the most important thing to know is that all of the character's powers are derived from whatever their worst flaw is, and they only get One power and you dont really have a say in what it is. so in that sense you could consider it closer to how superpowers are typically written rather than magic. but the people who have these powers dont consider it to be either, its sort of just a fact of their world. i've been calling it their "ethos" which literally means "character" and is typically used to describe someone's personality, especially in the way they manage emotion and caution, this forms their morals and beliefs. so it's their ethos because it's a flaw that they have to learn to manage, but its also a huge part of their character that they cant ignore or repress.

beyond that, so far, a lot of this story is newer than my other big ocverse so not all the blanks are filled in for me. the general setting is more or less fantasy, though it also has some fantasy tech elements thrown in there. nothing i would consider very high fantasy at all. the kingdom theyre in is a monarchy, theres a king and a princess and knights and all that (but are they to be trusted really?). standard fare!

the guilds themselves are set up allll over the country, the main guild, nova stella, is just one of many! however they're still mandated by the kingdom, they have to be approved and abide by certain guidelines. for example, the star ranking system. each guild member is awarded a rank befitting of their experience (not just skill). they go from 1-5 stars, the higher you rank the more dangerous jobs you can take on, but they pay better too. if you team up with a guild member of a higher rank you can also go on those missions with them.

I’m gonna write/format this a bit differently than my previous AU posts :)  Feel free to use this idea/expand upon it! Just credit me! (also send it to me cause I wanna see what people do w my ideas :D )

Part one of introductions: SBI

Philza Minecraft is a kind-hearted man who has a simple office job. With just a smile, he could make a complete stranger’s day. Everyone he meets agrees that theres a very calming and warm aura around him. His friends all agree that he’s the parent of them all, some of them going as far as regularly calling him “dad” or “dadza”. 

No one would suspect him to be the Angel of Death, a known super villain. He is mainly known for terrorizing the city from above, dropping bombs on random building and civilians. It isn’t very common for him to show up, but when he does, its typically for a major event. He commonly works with Siren, Blood God, and Outtit, though he’s been seen working with plenty of others as well.

Techno Blade is a less known man who tends to be shy and awkward around others. However, whenever he’s with his friends, he becomes loud and confident. He’s generally seen as the older brother of the group since he tends to become overprotective of his friends while at the same time makes fun of them constantly.

However, the Blood God is a very ruthless killer. He’s surprisingly skilled at using most weapons, from guns to swords and axes. It’s very clear that his goal is to destroy any form of government and major authority, as he often targets government building and large companies. He generally works alone, though he’s been seen working with Angel of Death, Siren, and occasionally Outtit. He is one of, if not, the most feared villain in the nation.

Wilbur Soot is a very charismatic young man known for his good looks and soft words. When with his friends, he lets out his chaotic side and can be pretty loud and fun to be with. Since he’s rather chaotic and devious yet sneaky at the same time, he’s seen as the middle child of the group.

The same things could be said about the villain Siren: a charismatic young man with chaotic and devious plans. With one strum of his guitar, he can put anyone he desires into a trance and make them do what he wants. He can also do this with his voice alone, but it’s clear his guitar amplifies this ability. He’s commonly seen working with Outtit, Baker, and Angel of Death.

Tommy Innit is a loud and rambunctious child, often causing chaos in his classes and among his friends. However, despite his very extroverted behavior, he’s very likeable and a fun person to be around. He’s commonly seen as the youngest child of the group for his often spoilt behavior.

Outtit is also very loud and chaotic, though not in the same harmless way. He is very mischievous and destructive. Though he isn’t very strong, he is rather good at running away, except he’s usually too stubborn to. Despite this, he always manages to get away. He commonly works with Siren and Bee Keeper, and occasionally Blood God and Angel of Death,

hewwooo!! there aren’t any real ‘rules’ cuz i’d love to see what unregulated creativity can do!! so you totally can make a super overpowered lost princess of amber character with rainbow hair and sparkly angel wings and id say HELL YTEAHHHH

but i definitely can give world lore so it can give a rough idea on how a typical citizen of the Demon of Amber universe (specifically Amber Kingdom) would interact with their world and possibly turn out!

SOME DEMON OF AMBER LORE;

- if your character is from amber, they’re very aware that magic is not openly accepted and EXTREMELY frowned upon. even dangerous/fatal if you’re caught using it or speaking in support of it. 

- so if you’re born a magic user, you’re taught straight away by your family to hide it in public. it’s not something you’d do out in the streets cuz someone WILL snitch to authorities. this can be difficult depending on how your magic works, cuz some people feel it’s activated by heightened emotion which is not something you can always control. 

- i say magic users, but the actual term people use in Amber is witches! they are used interchangeably though

- their planet isn’t exactly our earth (though it still is called Earth!), it’s more like an alternate universe where humans don’t exist. animals just evolved to be more human-like but kept their ‘animal’ traits! so that explains why theyre all furries

- but this also means certain species didn’t evolve in the same way, like reptiles and aquatic species for example!

- canines and felines are the most common groups but theres more! like mustelids, rodents, marsupials, some avians, etc. 

- species mixing is very possible! typically they’ll turn out as one species or the other, but there is a possibility they’ll be a hybrid! example: ren is jackalope because of this! mother rabbit and deer father.

- they’re not categorized by ‘carnivore or herbivore’ either! as for diets they mainly eat fish, plants, fruits n veggies, and some DOA specific creatures that can be eaten! but there is no beef or chicken unless you’re some sorta sicko cannibal cuz cows and chickens are evolved JAKHSFSHFG

- the year is 1313 when the main plot begins! and since their Earth isnt our Earth, different technological advancements and time periods are a tad mixed! the setting can be described as a sort of midpoint between medieval and steam punk. so they have some technology but it’s not super advanced! same goes with medicine. they’re not sticking leeches to you to cure a fever but they don’t have IV drips either

- average occupations aren’t anything too world specific! teachers, blacksmiths, doctors, bakers, chefs, royal staff (less common since there’s only so many openings), guards, etc! 

- if your character lives in the woods (which im debating renaming Ash Wood), there aren’t laws there! this is where most criminals and caught witches (innocent or not) are sent, and have since built their own society over the years. there’s very little resource, and its very hard to get by in the woods (hence why its named Ash Wood, the soil is so infertile it might as well be ash.) but they find a way! for the most part there’s a sense of helping thy neighbor but there are some real criminals in there that do make it unsafe. such as the cult >w>

Stop Fucking Up My Dream Firefighter AUs with Incorrect Research - A Long Rant

As a proud veteran of the fan fiction gang (what up 2011 fanfiction.net, pre porn banned Tumblr and 9 years deep into AO3) and an actual volunteer firefighter 

(Im not kidding we had a call to get a cat out a drain and this kid and his friends who had called it in were standing nearby and the kid had the Homunculus symbol from FMAB drawn on his hand and I asked him if he watched the show and he just look at me in awe that a firefighter could even fathom anime.)

I have a SLIGHT problem when wanting to read Firefighter AUs. The writers tend to get the vibe right, the steamy romance, the unhygienic sex in the fire engines, etcetera. But the basic info is almost always jarringly wrong, and its sort of painful to read through. 

So here is a incredibly basic breakdown of what you need to know when writing a Firefighter AU.

Paid vs Volunteer Company

In America, Canada, and most suburban and rural areas, depending on how wealthy your town is, are volunteer companies. Local families and people who have been serving for generations dedicate their time and lives to serve their community. They’re small, so they might have old but well cared for rigs (fire truck, engine, rigs are just easier to call them). Theres usually one Chief, an Assistant Chief, 2 Captains, 2 Lieutenants, and the firefighters underneath them. They work in conjunction with the surrounding companies when responding to a call.

Depending on how wealthy the town is, they might have paid or combination companies. My town was rich enough to fully staff 30 stations, but allowed volunteers to run with them as well.

Major and even minor cities, are mainly paid companies. Theres just too many people in small spaces and incidents tend to multiply in cities. The command structure is similar to the volunteer company, however they don’t have individual chiefs, they have 1 Battalion Chief that responds for the whole city, like for a big structure fire they would assume command from the commanding officer on scene.

Getting Dispatched 

In every county, city, province, there is a small office building with lovely people called the Dispatch Center. People call the country’s emergency number (North America - 911), dispatch takes your information, and says over county radio 

The box number (like say its Company 12, so Box 12-3 would be the north side of town, 12-7 would be the south, 12-10 would be the river, or something like that)

The Incident: Most common but not limited to:

 Possible or Working Structure Fire,

Fire Investigation, 

Fire Alarm (most common and so annoying at 3 AM)

Vehicle Fire (classified by size, like car, van, tractor trailer)

Traffic Accident (Accident w/ injuries, Multi Car pileup, Rollover, Accident with entrapment (stuck but not hurt), Accident with confinement (literally crushed in with the car)

Less exciting ones like Gas Leaks, Carbon Monoxide Alarms, Electrical Hazards, Cats stuck in trees

Medical calls - depending on the company, but mostly Cardiac Arrests, Stroke, Lift Assists (helping old people who fall in their tubs), possible pregnancies?

The most common are fire alarms. Pain in the butts and are usually nothing, but you always have to be prepared for something to go wrong. For some reason Structure Fires and Cardiac Arrests come in batches, so like 2 weeks of like nonstop action, then like a month of boring fire alarms.

The basic rigs are 

Engine (water suppression, 500-gallon tank)

Rescue (Rapid Intervention, vehicle accidents and technical rescue)

Ladder (single 90'-110' ladder), 

Tower (Ladder with bucket at the end)

 Some cities allow combinations such as a Quint, a ladder truck with a tank in it. Most of the time, for most incidents, its 1 Engine and 1 Rescue or Truck or Ladder. The Engine is the constant. For any incident you may write, there should be more engines than anything else, but for a basic fire, 3 engines, 2 Ladder or Truck, and 2 Rescues are good.

For accidents, usually 1 Engine and a Rescue

What to Wear?

All of your gear is in your locker in the Apparatus Bay, in lockers with your name on them. Gear is heavy, about 30 lbs. This is the order they go on, should be dressed and zipped and on the rig in less than a minute and a half (yes we’re tested on that)

1. Boots and Bunker Pants

Your bunker pants are tucked into your boots and they have grips, so tug them on and get your pants up over whatever clothes you have underneath. Suspenders on, though some people don’t use them.

2. Nomex Hood

It looks like a dark colored balaclava, but its soft, stretchy, and thick material, it goes over your head and then pushed back off so it sits around your neck. VERY IMPORTANT, WILL KEEP YOU FROM GETTING BURNED TOO BAD.

3. Jacket

Swing it up and over your shoulders and get your hands into the wristlets. Fire gloves will either be in the pockets or strapped to the front (I perfer strapped its easier to grab and put on)

4. Helmet

This is where OP can get creative because almost all helmets are very personalized, whether with cameras or flashlights or stickers or special handmade leather fronts with the Company number and firefighter name. (Mine has a chinese idiom that translates to water and fire have no mercy, cause im half Chinese)

Going on the Call

So to wrap up this very long post, going on each call is always different. No two are the same. The fire alarms are boring and tedious. The structure fires are fun and exciting and adrenaline rush, but just be aware that there is an entire room on fire and its 1400F degrees and its just you and a hose and you breathing heavily through your airpack. Its scary but walking out of it after is such an invigorating feeling. Your camaraderie with your crew will never be stronger than in that moment. Vehicle accidents are the same, just you and the spreaders (Jaws of Life), and praying that the patient inside is still breathing and conscious. Lastly, for medical calls, never underestimate the capacity of human grief. Cardiac arrests almost never seem to work. Its always very sobering to leave, but you did what you could.

In the end, firefighters are human. We are not epic heros like people like to believe. We enjoy what we do, helping others. We cherish the time we have.

I think top/bottom stereotypes fit into this too...straight ppl think there has to be a dominant partner(ie the man) and a submissive partner(ie the woman) no matter what, which of course is not only ridiculous but also homophobic and misogynistic. "who wears the pants" (trousers if youre not north american ig) was a pretty common homophobic comment / joke for a while and i think it seems less common these days but that i think has more to do with it being less socially acceptable to be homophobic than it was ten years ago, not because nobody thinks that way about same sex relationships anymore

and a/b/o fic is Usually a way of working within a frame work where these roles are formalized and binding but with male characters. the omega role is fairly transparently just ... like. being a woman, and the negative treatment of them in-universe is typically indistinguishable from irl misogyny

im sure theres a lot to be said here about women using men as placeholders bc writing about women is too close to home or whatever that one Concept is but i dont want to be the one to say it

I'm starting 2 play pathologic but I'm scared any tips for how to make the start of the game less impossibly heavy and mortifying (I accidentally started a fight got scared and restarted my game)

HI im typing on  my computer this time bc i wrote likean essay long response to this and tumblr crashed instead of saving this also adding a readmore bc this will get long im sorry.. but thank u so much for sending me this ask i am so excited u r playing pathologic first of all!! i will format this in a numbered list so its a bit easier 2 read...

1. im assuming the fight u started was with the ppl loitering in evas garden, right? this is a v common problem new players face and an intentional obstacle left by the devs to teach u tht u shld avoid confrontation and fighting at all costs when u can help it. the fighting system in this game is intentionally difficult and u will usually die if u get into a fight if u dont have a gun. just leave the guys alone and let them stay and u will be fine. there arent any consequences to this so dont worry!!

2. starting and then restarting the game a few times when ur getting into it is very normal so dnt worry abt that!!! i had to restart my save like 3 times before i got the hang of things, so dont be discouraged. tht being said the game isnt for everyone so if u just consistently are not having fun w it dont force urself to play it!!

3. check out the settings page where it lists all the controls for the game, bc it will show you some mechanics the game nevr tells you about. use Q to open up your quest menu which will show you your overall goal, main quest, and sidequests. the main quest MUST be completed by the end of each day or there will be ingame consequences, so be careful. sidequests are less dire. 

the I key opens up ur inventory!! 

you press E to talk to people

the P key opens up ur status menu iirc. be sure to keep track of that too, but statuses will also pop up in the corner of ur screen when they get actually dire, too, so if u dont check it u wont be completely clueless dw!!

the L key opens up your letters menu. u will get letters from different ppl throughout each day and usually they pertain to the main quest at hand or a sidequest you can do so that you know what youre supposed to be doing each day. whenever you get a letter a spinning icon will pop up in the corner of the screen and the sound of a paper flipping will play, but the game never actually tells u abt it which is a big design flaw on its part.

4. pay attention to the time!! esc or q will pause ur game and pause the flow of time, but opening ur inventory wont. time is a super important aspect of the game so just watch out 4 that.

5. spend all your money on food on day 1. dont bother with eggs or lemons so much as meat, bread, fish, vegetables, and milk to a lesser extent. its important u do this on day 1 for reasons u will find out later.

dont worry abt keeping ur hunger meter completely low tho!! make sure it doesnt max out, but dont try to keep it empty, ull waste food very quickly that way and its a very important resource.

theres also an area in the game near where u start out that has some milk left out near a statue of a woman that you can pick up. raising ur fists in game will make a little dot appear to help you aim for things, and i always use that to focus on what i want to pick up because it can be very difficult otherwise. heres the area im talking about

6. check ur map frequently whenever ur going anywhere!!!! the layout of the town is intentionally confusing and u will get lost without ur map, esp because it shows u quest markers of wherever u need to go. 

the walking in this game is also very slow and tedious. u get used to it but it is a feature of the game so just keep that in mind.

i used this map to keep track of where all the shops in town are because its a bit difficult to tell otherwise and can save time if u need to get stuff (like food and medicine. dont bother with clothes bc theyre honestly useless but clothing stores do sell needles which you should collect for bartering.)

7. bartering is a BIG system in the game and its actually what you use to get a lot of the items youll need. you can barter with pretty much every random npc you see in town, just press E to talk to them! different people will trade for different things and find value in different items, so just pay attention to that! 

look in trash cans and bins located around the town to find useful things you can barter or use yourself, like water bottles. id recommend especially saving items that children will trade for like jewelry, flowers, needles, hooks, sharp objects (like knives and switchblades), and nuts. dont eat the nuts, trade them with children.

8. one child in particular will have an item called “schmowder” on her occasionally. theyre important for reasons that you find out in game later. if she has a schmowder, trade for it, and save it. it costs a lot so save up things this child will trade for. dont use schmowders on yourself, save them for later. the child looks like this.

unrelated but i just think this girls design is sweet. i like her dress :)

9. sometimes characters will give you items for quests. if your inventory is full, the item will drop to the ground in a bag with a thud. watch out for this and be sure to check your inventory and the ground to make sure you actually have the item you need to do a quest.

10. quests can be confusing sometimes, and if u ever feel lost i recommend checking the pathologic wiki for “the bachelor’s route” to find a guide about each quest that happens each day. OR you can just dm me and i can help u if u dont want to risk being spoiled!!! i dont know everything but if i dont know the answer i can just look it up for you since i already know the story of the game.

11. dialogue can also be confusing sometimes, so choose what you say carefully! dialogue trees that you can go back to are usually rare and dont actually happen that much. the dialogue system is also intentionally confusing and tricky. dont be afraid to reload a save file if you want to learn more or see what other dialogue options would have got you.

and thats all i can think of right now??? im sorry this is a lot, i promise the game isnt actually that difficult once you get used to it!!! its just a matter of getting used to the mechanics. lmk if u ever need any help at all :D

okay so thoughts on never have i ever after watching all 10 eps:

-like first and foremost as much as i can criticize about this show it really is incredible to see a girl like me like an actual sri lankan tamil girl being the lead actress in a netflix original and like i will not shut up about this bc i don't think i've ever seen a sri lankan tamil actress in western media before

-also piggybacking off that its also so so amazing to see actual tamil being spoken on screen in a western teen comedy

-that being said tho i feel like the tamil was super minimal and would have loved to see way more of it especially w devi calling her parents amma and appa!!! also something super common w a lot of tamil kids i know is where their parents will speak to them in tamil and they'll respond in english like i wouldve loved to see conversations like that between devi and her mom

-again the whole thing w ep 4 and it seeming like a White Person's Introduction to Hinduism instead of being like. how tamil hindus actually worship yknow

-the high school age characters are cringey but maybe i'm just getting too old to watch high school shows lmao (although i only just turned 20 so idk??)

-i LOVE kamala her character feels so real to me and i would love to see a show focused more on her and her situations with both steve and prashant like the show did a good job w her like wanting to be w steve but also how she legitimately gives prashant a chance too and i LOVE love love how her and prashant decide to like date for a while and see if theyre compatible but while still having the end goal of marriage on the table from the beginning, like thats def super realistic to modern arranged marriages

-nalini sometimes feels like a typical tamil mom and then other times feels too whitewashed like idk i know a lot of ammas who've lived in the states for 20-30 years and don't act as white as nalini does sometimes

-i think the fight between devi and her mom in the last 2 eps felt super real, like my mom and i have also had similar fights like the whole thing about her losing the sheet music like i definitely felt that super hard, my mom's always been super tough on me and it def made me feel like shit at times even though i obvs know now that she cares abt me

-i love devi's dad i think the portrayal of mohan waa rly well done especially since i know so many tamil girls who are their appa's chellam lmao, overall he was a rly likeable character

-ALSO i love how nalini and mohan are shown to actually be in love like we def need more rep like that instead of parents begrudingly stuck in an arranged marriage bc its their duty (even tho that definitely happens in real life and is the case w my parents)

-i wish the show wasn't so focused on devi wanting to have sex like she's supposed to be 15!!! let her be 15!!!! let her have other interests and don't make her blow off her friends just for some guy

-also tho i did wish some of the other characters got more closure or had more complete ends to their storylines like the whole thing w eleanor and her mom, idk i guess if theres a season 2 hopefully there's less loose threads that need to be tied up at the end
