The stream starts with Ace, Deuce, Jack, Ruggie, and Sebek's VAs replying to a bunch of quiz questions. I think Ace or Deuce responds with "810" when asked how many items there are on the Heartslabyul lounge's coffee table. Sebek's VA also has a hilarious answer when asked how many Draconians (wakasama fans) there are, he pulls out some super absurdly high number with tons of zeros in it.

There is then a Master Chef/Culinary Crucibles-type section where the VAs decorate their own cake for TWST's anniversary. It’s a team effort! Ace and Deuce put on the cream, Sebek added cookies on top, and Jack and Ruggie did the final decorations. It ended up looking pretty cute ^^ (Ace's VA is the one that added all the whipped cream peaks; it was mostly thanks to Ruggie's VA that the cake still looked aesthetically pleasing at the end.)

For anniversary, there will be a series of free items given out if you log in during the event period (11th to 25th), which includes THREE 10-pull keys (released on the 11th, 15th, and 18th, respectively). You can receive up to 12 days' worth of freebies. There will be an anniversary banner as per usual; you can earn tokens by pulling on this and then trade them in for a SR magical key (50 tokens) and/or past event-limited SSRs (150 tokens), including past years' birthday cards (100 tokens). There will be a new "Event Recollection" feature which allows you to experience events that you may have missed getting the initial chance to play through yourself.

Mr. S's Mystery Shop will sell items from past events such as limited Groovy materials and spell upgrade materials. This is called the "Memory Shop".

You will be able to mark (multiple) parts of the story as your "favorite". This will be indicated with a pink heart icon.

Battles will have a new feature which allows you to save team compositions for them. Up to 25 compositions may be saved at a time. You can also pin your supports, so you no longer have to scroll to find a specific friend's character to borrow.

There will be 3 new item gachas added to the "Item Lotto" of the shop (for Crewel, Vargas, and Trein). Previously, there was only Sam's. You use a new type of medal (obtained by taking classes) to roll on the teachers' lottos, and can pull items related to what you'd typically earn in each of their classes.

Crewel's gacha may provide an herbal tea which can be used to boost Buddy Levels, including those for characters that are otherwise unable to take Alchemy classes. That means Crowley, Rollo, etc. are fair game. (Yes, you can force feed them tea to obtain FRIENDSHIP✨) The tea may also drop during Special Lessons or Alchemy class.

We finally get magical key conversion! On the summoning screen, you can turn 10 single pull keys into one 10-pull key (which guarantees at least 1 SR; single keys do not have this benefit).

The Guest Room will receive a second floor to decorate. This will be unlocked once you reach a Guest Room rank of 31.

The Guest Room rank cap will be increased from 30 to 40. Additionally, all properties of floor 1 appears to carry over to floor 2. This means the same comfort level and attributes will be present across both.

New BGMs will be added to Mr. S's Mystery Shop. There will also be new voice lines added to Alchemy, Flying, and the outfit selection screen. The official TWST soundtrack will be released on the 29th of May, though preorders are tentatively open now. It is 140+ tracks (149, to be exact!) across 4 discs and goes for 4620 yen (inclusive of tax; without tax the soundtrack is 4200 yen). Japanese retailers are offering different dorms' A5 sized holographic sticker sheets as bonuses for preordering.

This fishing set is intended to allow a sim to catch a variety of fish based on their body skill rather than their badge skill/season/bait type used. Of course all fishers have good days and bad days so they may also pull up some trash, seaweed or some treasure along with the intended catch.

Key Features:

Bait Sources - To fish, one needs bait. Fresh water fish use worms, and salt water creatures prefer small bait fish. These can also be used as Fish Food for farming. If a sim is super desperate, they are worth 1 food point if stocked to the fridge.

Fish Anywhere, Anytime Spots - Comes in fresh water and salt water variations. Works in all seasons, can be used by multiple sims at the same time. All fish are worth a variety of food points based on size and they can be added directly to the fridge or butchered.

Fish Traps - These are passive traps that run every 3 hours (tunable). They must be baited to function and sometimes come up with nothing.

Tidepools - A great place to forage for mollusks, shells, and other small sea critters and salt water foragables.

Farming Tank - Gather the needed materials and creatures to start farming them rather than relying on chance. Fish, mollusks, shrimp, and seaweed can all be grown. Rather than any particular type of fish, sims will received "Farmed Fish". A glass recolor of BB Niches is included for making glass walled tanks. A decorative protective net object can be called onto the Farm Tank.

Cleaning & Packing Station - This all in one station now takes the place of the previous converters and filet knife. All fish except Tuna and Swordfish can be packed into crates, as well as Lobsters, Crabs, and Fish Filets.

When a fish is butchered on this station, it produces Fish Filets that are worth 1 food point a piece. Sims receive as many that a fish raw stocked is worth, plus an additional filet. With certain traits, sims can gain more.

Displays - The Fish Crate Display and Fishing Rod are back, but have been repoed to the Cask Shelf now to save space.

Tools - The fishing rod tool allows for autonomous fishing while the new pole net is required for farming and other actions.

(2/2) ...Actually, when I mean “NSFW” Headcanons for the hosts, don’t include Honey, obviously. Have a couple of random thoughts on all the hosts. Not too much for the SFW, as I recently answered something similar, but a couple of NSFW headcanons for each of them below the cut.

SFW Headcanons

Tamaki

Finally realised he was pansexual in his final year of university, which really should've come sooner. Had a whole, elaborate coming out party, during which Kyoya just yelled inarticulately and stormed off. That's when Tamaki found out his best friend had been in love with him since middle school. (Depending on what you ship - I ship everything - that would be when Tamaki and Kyoya got together)

Haruhi

Finally gets fancy tuna in university. It wasn't the hosts who bought it for her, however, but a classmate who was incredibly thankful for the tutoring Haruhi gave them. Yes, the hosts were all incredibly upset (showing it in their own ways), and it was just a massive headache for Haruhi in general. They did admit it was stupid of them after about a week, though, and apologised.

Kyoya

Started med school in an effort to catch up to his brothers. The subsequent mental breakdown was not worth it, and he dropped out. Took the rest of the year as a gap year and then took the usual business and finance degrees when he got back from his travels. (The new septum piercing was discarded not long after he got back, however, after too many comments from the twins and Akito.

Kaoru

His fashion design degree nearly killed him. He was living on ramen (because it was convenient) and energy drinks for so long, just working on his projects day and night. The other ex-hosts had to host an intervention and make him sleep. He woke up after being dead to the world for nearly 20 hours, and everyone (except med student Kyoya) thinking he'd slipped into a coma.

Hikaru

Conversely to his brother, Hikaru spent a lot of time in university going to parties, especially those held by the chem majors (iykyk). Had a lot of fun, made a lot of friends, and dragged Kaoru with him by his hair more often than he probably should've. It was good stress relief for the both of them, though.

Mori

Very popular at university, in both senses of the word. While Mori's not the type for too many trysts and one night stands, it didn't mean he didn't have a lot of offers. Had a couple of girlfriends, and a few boyfriends, during this time.

Hani

Buckled down during university, in terms of studying, but still retained quite a few of his childish traits. Usa-chan did frequently accompany him to lectures, and was a bit of a hit with the rest of the class. In fact, Usa-chan became the class mascot not too long into first term.

NSFW Headcanons

Tamaki

Versatile. Can go from a good boy whining but taking it like a champ one minute, only to switch up and use that charisma and princely desire to pull one over on his partner (consensually, ofc) the next moment.

It may have been a joke in the beach episode, but this boy is indeed into bondage! Restraints, blindfolds, harnesses. He doesn't mind if he's tying up his partner, or if he's the one being tied up!

Ok since I have a bit more substantial following. I'm going to detail my surefire method for shoplifting from walmart. I've been doing this for a couple years now, without any repercussions, with my method you can do the same. Read this whole guide, and feel free to ask me questions if need be.

So step one: do your shopping as normal, except grab a few 92 cent packages of tuna(anything small, flat and cheap will work). The amount you grab depends on how many things you're going to steal.

While shopping, place the item to be stolen on top of the tuna in your cart. it's very important that you know where the barcodes are located on both items, as this will come into play in a big way. What's also important is that the item is big enough to completely hide the tuna package under it. Otherwise this method can be risky.

Step two: once you are done with your shopping, head to self check out. Keep an eye on the walmart employee who is manning that station, you want to choose a self checkout that is as far away from them as possible (in my experience these people aren't paying THAT much attention and if they are, they dont care. Look for the younger employee, the ones on their phones, they are your best friend). You want your back facing these people as well.

Step three: Time to ring things up.

Something that is crucial is that you are not stealing literally everything.

Some of your items are going to be paid for normally, and ideally it's some high dollar items you have hid the tuna under. You're going to scan the tuna barcode but make it seem like you are scanning the other item's barcode. This is why you need to hide the tuna underneath the item, be careful not to scan the actual item's barcode because you might end up actually buying it lmao.

Proceed to scan your items, I always do the tuna items first, just to get them out of the way and bagged. I then scan the rest of my items normally, proceed to pay and then leave walmart. Those little scanners at the door only work for things with security devices on them, so dont worry about that. once you are in the parking lot you are home free baby! You just saved a fuckton of money and gave a big fuck you to walmart, good job!

Now, I make it seem very simple, and it is easy once you get the hang of it.

But there a few caveats that are very important.

1. You want everything in a bag, because the employee manning the doors are tasked with checking the receipt if you have something that is not bagged. They are lookingfor the unbagged item on the receipt, and if you have a lot of stuff and only some of them aren't paid for, then usually this isn't an issue. They'll see your huge ass tub of kitty litter on there, and ignore the rest. Still, being stopped by any employee is unwanted.

2. Some self checkout kiosks monitor the weight of items you scan and then place in self checkout, the bagging area is a scale. HOWEVER, in recent years, walmart has forgone that method of limiting shoplifting, I think because it would cause more trouble than it's worth. You need to go to your walmart and test this, which is easy to do.

Above all, it's important to act natural, and it's important to practice. Try it with just one item, you will not get in trouble for having a single item not rung up, if caught.

Victor Schnee or now known as Victor Arc was once a former Scion of the Schnee Household. Is the son of Jaune Arc and although he hates to admit it, he is also the son of Weiss Schnee. In his timeline the world is broken in every sense of the word. In his world. War has engulfed Remnant. And the scale of destruction is beyond comprehension. Continents shattered, sea boiled over, even the very air turned against you, All courtesy of the Superweapon created by the SDC. Of course many tried to stop the war from happening and all failed, Even Jaune Schnee died trying to stop it. His dead however is proven to be the catalyst for the tragedy. After his death something broke inside of Weiss. Despaired and Enraged by her husband’s death. Weiss reorganized the Kingdom of Atlas into the Atlesian Empire and declared war on everyone. With Victor serving as her right hand man. Working under her Victor is responsible for many of the Empire’s victory and her atrocity. He himself is directly responsible for numerous warcrimes and even genocide against the Faunus. Victor is also credited for killing Ruby Rose and for capturing Blake. Back home in Atlas he was hailed as hero for this feats. It’s only until much later that he regretted his action. And came to hate his own mother so far as to wanting her dead. While she's the one that broke the world, he still blame himself for helping her doing it.

Aurum Arc

As the oldest of the 12 sibling, Aurum is also born the weakest among his siblings. Born prematurely many did not expect him to survive childhood. But he refused to give up. Motivated by stories of warriors of old and the story of his father. He continues pushing his limit. And to the surprise of everyone he not only survive past childhood but he actually starts growing taller and stronger compared to other children his age. So strong in fact that in the age of 15 he managed to kill a Dragon Grimm. By the age of 17 he joined the Arc Knights. And in the age 20 rose through the rank and become the youngest captain of the group. A rank that he still hold to this day. Despite his achievement however he still found himself lacking behind his father and he made a promise that he will surpass the Grandmaster, Jaune Arc himself.

Meet Morrigan Clearcove, NRC's Prodigious Alumni

Morrigan is- or well, was- a teacher at Atlantica's School for Young Mages, a place specifically focused on teaching and nurturing children who show promise in magic. He's in his early 50s (technically, he would be in his late 60s...) and an alumni of NRC well-known for his intelligence impressive magical prowess. He was very popular and well-liked in Atlantica despite past *ahem* incidents... until he married Silas, that is.

Morrigan is a fella with a short temper (that he has worked on a lot, thank you) and fiery spirit. He's very charming and polite most of the time, of course, though that quickly falls away when he gets pissed off and becomes passive-aggressive and snarky. He's come very far since his youth, where he'd explode into anger and violence very easily.

He's immensely passionate about what and who he loves and always speaks his mind. He's incredibly intelligent and adept at magic with a love for puzzle solving and learning new things.Morrigan is also someone who is very playful and smug and likes to mess around with people for laughs.

He's a jokester (he was meant to be a dad all along, it seems) and a prankster at heart even if he has toned it down. He's resistant to strict rules and gets irritated easily when his actions are restricted and when he's told what to do.

Morrigan is very competitive and has an almost obsessive desire to win at everything and prove himself as the best. He has internalised the idea that what he can do and how well he can do it (ESPECIALLY magic) is tied to his worth since he was a child. He's been trying not to think like that so much... Silas kicking his ass both in fights and in hunting competitions seems to be helping that along

Appearance:

Morrigan has long, curlydark green hair, lighter green skin, and dark green scales and fins. He has lots of freckles and a hooked nose. His eyes are aquamarine, and he has razor-sharp teeth that don't entirely fit in his mouth and razor-sharp claws. His tail and fins look just like those of a cookie cutter shark.

Morrigan has a number of scars on his neck, tail, and sides. There aren't many, and most are in the form of clawmarks and bite marks most of them came from Silas 💀

Morrigan also has a band of black scales around his neck, and from just below that all the way to his navel are photophores that glow in the dark, which helps him camouflage and can even make him look like a school of fish from below.

Morrigan doesn't wear clothes, of course, but he does wear Silas' courting gift to him, a necklace of orca teeth and a volute shell, almost always.

Morrigan has a husband, Silas Clearcove, and they both unofficially adopted Timo Byun, a young teen who works for Silas. They're not related by blood, but Ezra and Alastair are like family to Morrigan and he even made them the godfathers of his children

Morrigan has a mother and father and several siblings, and he has a very negative relationship with all of them. He does, however, adore his nieces and nephews and does his best to be the fun uncle for them (especially since their parents are so horribly boring)

Backstory:

Okie this is gonna be a long one

Morrigan was born into a very wealthy family as the oldest of eight children. From a young age, he showed signs of magic, and very soon after that became clear that it was much more powerful than that of his siblings and the schoolmates who had magic as well.

His parents jumped on the opportunity that having a powerful, successful mage in the family would provide them. It would boost their status in the eyes of the public and especially the other families in the upper class, as the Clearcoves are "othered" by the rest for being more "monstrous" merfolk.

It was made clear to Morrigan that he was a special and gifted child, a prodigy who would surely make his family proud. He was given a similar treatment to Riddle. His schedule was very strict, and most if not all of his actions were controlled by his parents, and most of his time was spent in magical training.

The pressure to be the best and to not be a disappointment was overwhelming, and the constant control of almost everything he did simply made it worse.

Morrigan developed a short temper and quick emotional reactions to almost everything. Criticism, even constructive criticism, was perceived as an insult to his intelligence and skill (mainly because of his parents) and made him angry, and to let that anger out, he would get into violent fights and break as many rules as possible.

This behaviour continued into NRC and only became so much worse when Morrigan realised that he no longer had his parents breathing down his neck and controlling him. In a desperate attempt to gain any scrap of a feeling of control and freedom he could before it was inevitably ripped away once he left NRC, he went off the rails.

He got into many violent fights with his dorm mates and even other students, frequently pestered and bullied other students, ignored curfew, attended many wild parties, and by the time of his third year certain actions were bordering on illegal and also resulted in his fake ID being on the wall of shame in the town's local bar. He nearly got into trying certain *other* unsavoury substances, too (you can guess what they were)

His actions had essentially gone from really bad to self-destructive and his close friends Ezra and Alastair, who he'd dragged into many of his shenangians as they had similar issues to him, held a sort of intervention. It cause the friendship to break apart temporarily since Morrigan just got mad at them and wouldn't listen (he didn't hurt them, though, dw) and told them to fuck off.

They did, and it was the mix of missing them, the loneliness he felt from their absence, and fucking up real bad somewhere else that had him come around.

Morrigan eventually decided that yeah, he was going to do what he wanted with his own life when he graduated, no matter how furious it made his parents. He wasn't perfect... but he started getting noticeably better during the remainder of his time at NRC.

The rest is much simpler. He graduated, became a teacher, met Silas, became friends with him, and eventually fell in love with him, married him, they both moved to Atlantica together, had children, and... well. He was murdered. :(

I’m a little sad we didn’t get to see canonical kid versions of the rest of the Lupgang in Lupin Zero SO take these headcanons of the 2 best characters in the gang:

Kōichi Zenigata had always been a good student, a real old-fashioned gentleman through and through. He was hardworking, helpful, and one of the best Class Presidents you could ever hope to vote in. He had no shortage of admirers (both secret and not) too. But where he really shone was on the school’s baseball team.

Zenigata was his high school’s star pitcher. His signature move was, ironically, “The Handcuff” — a hard-hit ground ball that bounces directly at an infielder, causing it to be difficult for the ball to be hit. (Look it up, it’s a real thing!)

He joined law enforcement because that was what his father did too, and he grew up believing that it was the right and noble thing to do. With his impeccable work ethic and strategic intelligence, he quickly landed a job with the ICPO.

On one of Zenigata’s first cases with the ICPO, he was among a squad deployed to the USA to investigate rumours of a midnight heist on the Japanese wing of a prestigious art gallery.

Hours before the rumoured heist, Zenigata was patrolling the area near the gallery while undercover, when he stumbled upon a group of rowdy teenagers gathered around a narrow alley. At that time, the sun had already set, and it was odd for a group of teens to be out this late — Zenigata, ever the Boy Scout, began to approach them to ask what they were doing, when he noticed that the group was gathered around a small child. A small child that was red-faced, clearly trying to hide his tears.

And as he got closer, Zenigata could hear the teens jeering and taunting the boy in English, while the boy seemed to only be able to stutter out Japanese sentences: “Please leave me alone”, “I didn’t do anything to you”, “I don’t understand you”.

Now, Zenigata was no stranger to the way most of the world treated people like him — having been deployed outside Japan many times even as a rookie officer, Zenigata knew how racist and xenophobic people could be. And so it was with a stern look and flash of his badge that the teens quickly scattered.

The boy, still crying softly, now tried to stand up as tall as possible, smoothing out the scuffs on his Haori and Kimono in a strangely dignified way. A Haori and Kimono! A strangely formal outfit for a child no older than 10.

That aside, this was no hour for a child to be out alone. Zenigata asked where the kid’s parents were, in Japanese and the softest voice he could manage. The child only said, “They said I’m supposed to look out for them here.”

Zenigata hummed. He disappeared, then minutes later returned with a pack of convenience store sushi. “Well, if you’re gonna wait here alone, I think it’s best if a cop waits with you.”

The child said nothing, but nodded and crammed another tuna roll in his mouth. (Quite the appetite this kid had, thought Zenigata.)

The hours flew by, Zenigata keeping an eye on the stragglers heading in and out of the art gallery, accompanied by a kid who looked like he’d stepped straight out of a Japanese folk tale but demolished almost a whole 7/11’s worth of sushi. The boy seemed quite happy to have someone who spoke his language, chattering away to Zenigata about the strange things he’d seen in America.

Soon, Zenigata was interrupted by the crackling of his radio — indeed, a gang of thieves had arrived to break into the gallery, and all officers were called in to apprehend them. Apologising to the boy, Zenigata rushed off.

A couple hours later, in a flurry of adrenaline, blaring sirens, and blue and red lights, the thieves had been apprehended — a Japanese gang intending to take back a rightful piece of their history. (Zenigata couldn’t say he disagreed with the sentiment, but the job was the job.)

By the time Zenigata returned to where he’d left the boy, he was gone. Wherever he was, Zenigata could only pray that the adorable, old-fashioned little boy with the ravenous appetite was safe.

(Of course, unbeknownst to him, Zenigata would meet the little boy again — this time, Zenigata would have a couple more grey hairs, and the little boy would have a katana sharp enough to cut lightning.)

Summary: A story where Bachira helps a mermaid in problems and they grow attached to each other because of their curious personalities.

"Haha! We got one!"

Two men near a little bay secluded from the quiet coast.

"Look at her scales! So shiny!"

Deep waters full of vibrant corals, home of many fish... and some mermaids.

A strong net imprisoned the mermaid, who fought against the force that was pulling her away from the sea. When a dirty hand went to grab her, she defended herself.

In this world, a mermaid's poison sold like gold, being the most powerful in the world. It was used for medicine and drugs, among others. It was very rare and very precious.

"Ah, careful! Did she stung you?" Panicked eyes stared at their companion.

However, as a mermaid, if your poison isn't deadly or lethal,

"Huh? What is this? It just felt like a little zap."

You weren't worth more than tuna.

"Really? We spent hours fishing for this?"

The mermaid still tried to resist against the tight ropes that held her hostage.

"I don't know man." The stung man ran a hand through his hair. "Maybe we can sell her scales or something."

"Forget it, the government is very attentive about anything that involves the mermaids' wellbeing."

"Let's just go home."

They both sighed and carelessly let go of the net, letting the mermaid fall unceremoniously on the sand. They didn't feel an ounce of respect for her as they left her under the burning sun to die. The mermaid didn't find any energy left to keep resisting and went limp.

Hell, she knew her poison was worthless. Even other mermaids made fun of her constantly, that's why she travels alone. But being treated like this by humans made what she had left of dignity to crumble.

Laughter and chatting echoed through the coast as a numerous group of friends arrived at the beach. They dispersed and played volleyball, swam a little, made sand castles... The usual activities in a summer vacation.

Then, a boy with yellow eyes wandered happily further from the group.

"Hey Bachira! Where are you going?"

"To explore!" He shouted back excitedly as he disappeared behind a bush. His friends decided to let the adventurous boy be, being aware of his curious and playful personality.

When he pushed away a big leaf from a palm tree, he was met with an incredible sight. A bay surrounded of vegetation was hiding there. The clear water clashed against the rocks, making a peaceful sound. Despite this, when his eyes drifted where the sand was more prominent, being in the shore, he spot a laying figure. He walked closer to it, examining her with an inquisitive gaze.

'A mermaid?!'

His eyes fixated on the way the sun reflected on her (f/c) scales and her fins laid like silk in the sand. She had pointy ears and sharp teeth were noticeable in her features.

"Pretty..."

However, his mesmerized trance switched to a worried frown as he didn't see any movement from her, the net trapping her body. Just who is so cruel to do this? He tried to pry off the net from her with no avail. The movements made the mermaid drowsily awake as she saw someone else with her. She followed her first instinct and stung him to try and scare him away. The boy jolted away and held his hand.

"Hey don't zap me! I'm trying to help you!"

Although, seeing as the ropes didn't budge, Bachira went off to find a tool that could help him. He found a branch that was spiky at the sides and thought that it should do. He came back and stuck his tongue out in concentration as he worked.

The mermaid's thoughts wandered wildly. What did this boy want with her? What would he do to her? The idea of him taking her poison by force crossed her mind, but after her earlier failed display of abilities, she doubted it. Maybe he really was helping her after all.

Albeit that hopeful thought, her panic didn't decrease. Her quick ragged huffs made her cough harshly. Her skin was dry and her lungs burned with each breath she took. Thankfully, Bachira got the memo rapidly.

"Ah right! Water!"

He looked back and stared at the fresh water from the ocean. Thoughts as grabbing a bucket or making a small river crossed his mind, but in the end he opted to carry her there. She felt strong arms lift and bring her to the shallow waters. The rope scratched her irritated skin and she winced in pain. Bachira apologized softly.

'At least is better than drying off in the sun.' She thought.

She sighed as her body hydrated again, some water being splashed by the boy to wet the parts that stayed over the water level. After he noticed she was feeling better, he continued his task on freeing her. When he managed to cut down some ropes over her torso, she aided him weakly as much as she could with her arms.

Minutes that felt like hours passed and the net was finally cut down to the point he could take it off her with his hands. The mermaid felt as good as ever, no longer being caged in tight cords. She crawled to deeper waters and stretched, going for a quick swim of freedom right after.

Bachira hoped onto a rock near her and watched as she swam skillfully through the water. His eyes lighted up and a wide smile creeped his way to his face. It was a very beautiful sight indeed. He saw her come closer and crouched down on the rock to be more at her eye level. She raised her webbed hand in order to tell him something, but he high-fived her instead.

"That was awesome! You swim really fast!"

She deadpanned at the excited boy. That was... not what she wanted to communicate. She was growing desperate after many attempts of communication were misunderstood by Bachira, who innocently tilted his head. He laughed as this seemed to be a funny guessing game to him. She face palmed and went for another tactic. She raised both of her hands in a motion.

"You want me to wait here?"

She nodded enthusiastically. She really should have learned to speak human language. Before Bachira could say anything else, she quickly disappeared under the water.

Some time passed and she found him still sitting on the rock, whistling a small tune. She approached him and he saw her from his peripheral vision.

"You're back!"

She smiled and stretched her arms towards him, a beautiful shell resting on her palms. He leaned closer to look at it as she had an eager expression on her face.

"Is this for me? As a thank you?"

She nodded again and pushed her hands closer to him. He raised his hand to take the shiny object from her, a childish smile on his lips.

"Thank you, I love it! It's so pretty!"

She only widened her smile in response. They 'chatted' a little more until Bachira pondered it was time to leave. He got up and trotted in direction of his friends before stopping in his tracks and turning around.

"Will you be here tomorrow?" He shouted.

She gave him a thumbs up in hopes he could see it from where he was standing. She figured he did as he slightly jumped and waved her goodbye, making her raise her hand too. She dived into the colorful reef and swam happily among the fish. Maybe some humans weren't that bad at the end.

Bachira was spotted by the group while he came back, skipping along the sand.

"Welcome back. Did you find anything?"

He hid the gifted shell in his swimming wear's pocket.

"Nope." He smiled.

The next morning, Bachira got ready at max speed so he had time to read a book about mermaids he saw in the shelf in Reo's beach house last night. He found it and quickly opened it, eyeing it's contents.

He passed over all the poison market thing, thinking it was not important. The only thing he wondered is that if that zap from yesterday was it. Having heard a thing or two about the topic, he remembered that a mermaid's poison can be lethal, but very useful.

'I guess her poison is not that strong. Well, lucky me. I could have died.' A drop of sweat ran down the side of his face as he smiled nervously, moving on to the next page.

'Ah, mermaids' behavior and language. This could be useful.'

He read about a lot of stuff regarding body language and signs that indicate emotions, trying to keep all the information in his brain, as hard as that is. Really, this must be the longest time he ever sat in front of a book.

- Shells can be gifted to other mermaids or creatures as a way to express gratitude and/or friendship. The shinier and smooth it is, the more sentimental value it holds.

His smile widened at that information.

'Haha! I knew it.'

He took out the shell and caressed it with his thumb. He did thought it was very nice and lovely. His gaze softened while he felt all giddy in the inside.

"Bachira we're ready! Come down!"

He quickly closed the book and rushed downstairs where all his friends were. He couldn't wait to arrive at the beach and see if you were there, as you said.

When they set up everything at the private beach, Bachira snook out discreetly and went over to the little bay. Sadly, he did not find the mermaid anywhere, even when he called for her. He didn't let disappoint get to him as he was sure you'll come later; so in the meantime, he went for a nice swim. The water there didn't crash as hard as it did in the shore. Instead, it felt more like a quiet lake, all just for him to relax as he floated.

Truth to be told, the mermaid was there. She nibbled on the remnants of what was a fish. She waited amusingly for the boy to get closer to the center of the bay, planning to surprise him.

Just as he was starting to get bored of doing nothing, he felt a shocking zap on his side. He instinctively turned to that side wide eyed, not missing the way something emerged from the water behind him and threw itself over him, making him momentarily sink.

When all movement ended, he threw his head back onto the surface only for his eyes to directly meet (e/c) ones, full of joy and playfulness. A smile also made its way to his face as he hugged her tightly.

"You came!"

They almost sink again from the action, making her laugh loudly.

'God her laugh is wonderful.'

He pulled back with a fake pout on his face, making puppy eyes at her.

"That was really mean though. I thought we were over all the zapping thing."

She maintained her smirk as she snorted and raised her eyebrows, as if saying: that didn't hurt and you know it. That made Bachira squeeze her cheeks as he laughed at her attempts to escape his grasp. This was not welcomed by her as she brought her fins closer to sting him yet again. Turns out that, much to his dismay, this would be a common thing between them.

"Hey!"

She quickly went underwater given the opportunity and flicked her tail strongly, making a considerable amount of water to splash at the boy's face. She peeked from the water and chuckled at Bachira's expression.

Their splashing game continued for long. She was obviously winning by far, but that didn't mean it was less fun. She swiftly made a quick turn and Bachira's eyes lighted up like a kid who got candy.

"Wow! Can you do any tricks?"

'Do I look like a scenario dolphin.' She wanted to retort.

Bachira saw right through her snarky gaze and sulked slightly. He was getting good in reading her thoughts thanks to the information on that book.

"Pretty please?" He asked behind clasped hands.

She glanced at his expectant eyes and gave in, taking a moment to think. He watched her dive into the water, but he wasn't prepared for what was about to come. The next thing he knew, her body was flying above his head, having elegantly jumped and her scales shining under the sun. Bachira was nothing but amazed as she came out of the water again, a sheepish smile on her lips.

"Wow... Wow! Do it again, do it again!"

They spent most of their time playing and having fun together without a care in the world. Eventually, their laughs died down and they grew tired. Well, more like she got tired; the boy still had plenty of energy left. Despite that, she finally convinced him to take a rest, swimming to shallow waters. When the water level was knee-high, they came to a stop and sat down. He dropped on his butt and she laid face down, them being in the perfect zone between land and water.

He looked at her as she enjoyed the way the soft waves brushed though her body, carrying cool waves with them. His eyes drifted downwards to her gleaming scales and he felt hypnotized by them. His attention was also caught by the way her fins flowed with the water's movement. But, could you blame him? He's never seen a mermaid this close, let alone befriend one.

"Can I touch your tail?" He smiled.

Her head turned in his direction and the question pondered in her head. Even when it registered in her brain, it still felt strange for her, as no one has ever asked that. Nonetheless, she still complied because she trusted him. Her tail was draped along his lap, startling the boy at first before he drew his hand near in a testing motion and caressed her tail gently. When he got no reaction from it, he continued doing so. Her scales were soft and slippery and her fins felt like nice fabric under his fingers.

A shudder ran down her spine at the nice feeling, legging her muscles relax. No one has ever been this affectionate to her, so this was new. Having nothing to do, she moved around and went to feel his legs as well. After all, she's never touched human legs before either.

When both of their curiosities met at the same time, they found themselves in a rare but nice quiet moment, just enjoying each other's company.

Like that, they spent the morning and soon the clock ticked until noon. Somewhere in between, they went to where you could barely touch the ground with your feet and got to know the other about various things. However, they were interrupted by a distant voice.

"Bachira, we're going to eat! Where are you?"

"Coming!"

He turned around but didn't find the mermaid by his side. Instead, he felt her fins glide through his legs in a way of saying goodbye as she took her leave. Bachira noticed something being placed in his hand and brought it up to inspect it. It was another shell.

Happiness and excitement flowed through his veins as he got further away from the bay, fastening his step to meet with his group. Boy, he was loving this summer vacation.

Like that, they spent most of the summer time. Between laughs, zaps, and splashes; a month passed and they grew impossibly close. In Bachira's bag stood proudly a pile of shiny shells of all colors and shapes, having kept every single one of them. Sometimes, the boy got her one too just to see the wide smile that would appear on her face. Sneaking out and maneuvering through dense vegetation to meet her became a routine for him, surprisingly not getting caught. The same could be said for her, as she swam through the reef everyday in hopes to see him.

One day, they were playing tag. Bachira cheated from time to time and ran to the dry sand, not wanting to always have it because of her always catching him instantly. Nonetheless, he would eventually come back when she begged for him to do so, promising she would go easy this time. That was a devious lie that he always fell for in one way or another as she jumped on him to tag him the moment he stepped on the water.

One of these times, Bachira deflated and sat on the famous rock in thought, feet still soaking in the bay. The mermaid felt slightly bad as she swam closer, thinking it was because of the game. Despite that, she still wore a victorious smirk that said it all.

'Tired of losing yet?'

"Don't get too full of yourself."

She wanted to laugh but couldn't get herself to do so when she heard the uncharacteristic weak chuckle that left his lips. She looked at him and saw his thoughtful expression, eyes barely duller that usual as they hid a foreign emotion behind them. She started to become worried and crossed her arms above his thighs, resting her head on top to look at him. Bachira snapped out of his trance and started at her. After a few seconds, he squeezed her cheeks with a small smile.

"What's with the long face?"

She was unbothered and reached her index finger to boop his nose.

'You.'

She smiled at the way his eyes crossed to look at her finger then at her, rosy pink covering his cheeks. He let her face go and faked a small smile.

"It's nothing really. Just thinking."

She raised her eyebrows, clearly showing that she didn't buy it. However, he didn't let her insist more as he changed the topic.

"I just noticed I haven't asked you your name!"

Her eyes slightly widened in surprise and she retracted her finger. Well, at least that was something she could say. Bachira heard her literally bubbly voice for the first time as she told him her name.

"(y/n)"

"(n/n)? That's a cute name! I'm Bachira, but you heard it before."

She deadpanned as he didn't understand half of it and said it wrong, but she didn't have the heart correct him seeing the now true, happy smile he wore. It was contagious. She chuckled along him and, when the laughter died down, they were left in complete silence. Bachira fiddled with her hair before parting his lips.

"I have to go back home soon."

So that's what it was. She looked up at him from his lap with an unreadable expression. Moments passed and, when Bachira started to grow anxious, she propped herself up in her arms before giving him a hug. He quickly reciprocated it, hugging her waist close and pulling her out of the water fully to let her sit in a more comfortable position in his lap. Without a word, their embrace tightened. This hug wasn't playful nor lively like the other ones, but it was still as welcoming as ever.

"I'll miss you." He whispered into her wet collarbone as he pressed his head there, which she responded by nuzzling her face on his shoulder.

They sat on the rock enjoying each other's warmth not wanting to separate. Her nose scrunched up when stray hairs tickled her face as they pressed their cheeks together, courtesy of Bachira. Their hearts beat in unison under the blazing sun.

She eventually pulled back after some restriction because of his strong hold. She signaled him to wait with her hands as she dived into the water, disappearing in sight. He began whistling waited for her on the rock, his gaze softening as this moment felt similar to their first interaction ever.

She came back clutching something in her hand, which she placed on his hand that pushed against his chest, the tips of her ears red. He tilted his head and watched her amusedly, but in a blink, she wasn't there anymore. He panicked as he didn't get the chance to say goodbye.

However, that thought was quickly dismissed as he felt something zapping his ankle, making him stand up by reflex. He saw her emerging from the water at the distance before his smile enlarged.

"Will you be here next summer?" He shouted.

She gave him a thumbs up and he responded with a little happy jump. He waved her goodbye, making her raise her hand too. She dived into the colorful reef and swam happily among the fish.

Bachira turned around and trotted in the sand and trough the vegetation. He opened his palm and his face went red, his heart skipping a beat. There sat a beautiful coral of reddish tones. His eyes, wide in realization, squinted closed as he widely smiled. He traveled back home with a happy mind.

'Until next summer, (n/n).'

- Mermaids can also gift a coral, this meaning love and affection. The redder the coral, the more sentimental value it holds.

I have nothing to say except this was very sweet to write.

I had much more scenarios with a mermaid reader but decided to shorten it for it not to be too long.

People's Sexiest Man Alive would never steer me wrong!

Idly browsing through DVDs at the library, I saw "Thanksgiving" (apparently released last fall and which, like most movies these days, I've never heard of), whose cover gave off immediate Slasher (the series) vibes so I turned it over to read the back.

Whereupon I saw Patrick Dempsey in a sheriff's uniform and IMMEDIATELY said "sold" and put it in my checkout bag without even reading the summary. This is the level of auto-watch we're at here.

Spoilers for the ending, and also Scream 3 I guess, below the cut:

and listen, I knew it was too much to hope that I would get away with a second horror movie in which he is the kindly local law enforcement who neither dies nor kills, but also I didn't! Especially when he immediately became the reassuring and comforting presence to a teenage girl whose entire remaining family kinda sucks. Not even the godawful accent* stopped me, and believe me, that was A Trial.

[*which, I am horrified to learn while googling to confirm what to call it, is real?? "he was instructed to lose the accent in order to broaden his acting opportunities" well I'm sorry to say, whoever told him that was entirely correct. Just like he had to ditch his original nose. + MC's love interests both kinda suck, but as far as the friend group, I'll be damned if I didn't immediately find them all distinctive and interesting within about ten minutes of knowing them. Goosebumps 2023 aside, I have watched so many exhaustingly bland teens in films and TV shows that I assumed my ability to enjoy an actor under about 25 was gone forever, but no! Look! Here they are, being Interesting! ESPECIALLY the lead...Nell Verlaque? Show me MORE, IMMEDIATELY.

JOE BURROW & ALEXANDRA DADDARIO'S COOKING CONTEST ENTRY

Neither Joe or Alex are the best at cooking, but they did attempt the best they could and picked the easiest things they both could make!

STARTER: For the starter, Joe and Alex decided on Reef Fish Cutlets with a Coconut and Mint Chutney.

These are delicious Maldivian fish cutlets, which are hit snacks amongst food of The Maldives, and are prepared using fresh ingredients and spices. Main ingredients of reef cutlets include tuna, chilies, onion, eggs, salt, black pepper and boiled potato. A mixture of these ingredients is prepared and is made into small balls. It is then covered with breadcrumbs and fried in hot oil. The cutlets are soft, as well as crunchy and make for a great evening snack. 

MAIN COURSE: For the main course, Joe and Alex decided to cook up a beautiful live lobster. The lobster is fileted and seasoned with a variety of spices, served with melted butter to dip it in and a dish of Boshi Mashuni on the side.

Lobsters are a main dish of Maldivian cuisine and if you want to enjoy the most lip smacking lobster, then it definitely has to be cooked in front of you and served hot. The more freshly cooked the lobster is, the more soft, as well as delicious it tastes.

Boshi Mashuni, also known as banana flower salad, is a healthy and tasty dish of Maldivian cuisine. It is somewhere in-between a salad and salsa. The dish is prepared by using crunchy banana flowers and some fresh coconut, curry leaves, lime and chilies. Spices like turmeric and cumin add to the taste of the dish.

DESSERT: For dessert, Joe and Alex kept it simple with Saagu Bondibai, a Maldivian classic.

Saagu Bondibai is a must try dish amongst the food in Maldives. It is basically a pudding made by boiling saagu seeds. The dish is prepared with Saagu and warmed with coconut milk. It is then laced with condensed milk, and the taste of rose and cardamom adds the cherry on the cake. It is an epic dessert and is a hit amongst locals, as well as tourists. When in Maldives, try a bowl of Saagu Bondibai and get the real taste of the island’s cuisine.

DRINK: For the drink with their meal, Joe and Alex made a Lucky & Al cocktail, which is famous in The Maldives.

Lucky & Al is a famous cocktail of The Maldives that is made using many strong combinations of spirits that turn to give it an intense flavor. For paying homage to Prohibition Era in the US, this cocktail was made and is served with a vintage 1930's Guy Lheraud, Vieil Armagnac and Salon 1988 Champagne. It is an expensive drink, but is worth all the money.

JORMA KAUKONEN!!!/JOHN HURLBUT, CITY WINERY ST LOUIS, 10 MAY 2024

I was insufficiently enthusiastic about this show, initially saying I didn’t think so. I have seen streams of JORMA KAUKONEN playing acoustic lead with his buddy JOHN HURLBUT, who selects wonderful songs singing and strumming them capably enough. Fine to stream, not worth the price of a ticket.

Then I realized that it was more like a Quarantine Concert from “radio dream stream land” as we got Hurl to repeat last night. Jorma was playing seven/eight tunes before Hurl coming out to sing. Well that justified a chance to see this most influential hero, the reason why I bought an acoustic guitar in 1969 and not an electric.

I hadn’t even considered fingerpicking then, but that first Hot Tuna album fascinated me. Mostly blues but at least a couple of examples at the end (Mann’s Fate and New Song for the Morning) of Jorma’s songwriting. I saw the electric band in Kansas City for 11 am start shows that lasted past 3 when they and we were much much younger. But it was always the acoustic stuff that grabbed me over the years and eventually several of those tunes formed the core of my repertoire in so far as I have one.

So, gee, it was good to see Jorma and to see many of the ones I play (Hesitation Blues, How Long Blues, Good Shepherd, and the anthem of this season of loss Death Don’t Have No Mercy) and some I’d like to (the Been So Long opener and Another Man Done Gone). There were lots of those Jorma tunes which have distinctive minor chords and articulate lyrics to the extent that I notice such things. And I don’t much, so that I can’t name them until the set list gets published. Still, they are charming and I want to hear them as part of the festivities.

This show concluded this little Midwest tour. Jorma’s voice is hanging in there but it isn’t as rested as it was during the Quarantine Concerts of 2020-1. It’s okay if he whispers and inflects some. The guitar playing remains unparalleled and these tunes he’s lived with 60 years, plus or minus, get more complex. He does so much more with the tunes of his that I play, certainly than I do but even more than what he did in the early years. I don’t know that there was anything whatsoever I could immediately borrow. Except, yet again, inspiration.

Hurl did many of the tunes he’s been highlighting this tour. An old Bob Dylan one, She Belongs To Me, and a newer one, I’ll Remember You; Leadbelly’s Take This Hammer, Pigpen’s Operator (I’ve never heard Jorma talk about Pigpen who shared his love of acoustic blues when their bands were so close during the days in Haight Ashbury; Everybody’s Talking; and, an audible for last night, Spencer Bohren’s Travellin’. I chatted briefly with Hurl about Spencer as a Focal Point favorite while he was peddling the last three of volume three of him and Jorma.

Hurlbut didn’t plug his guitar in for his first tune but we listened attentively and the room had good acoustics. At the start of the second set, Jorma remarked on both things, thanking us for being such an exemplary audience.

At the last minute we got eccentrically good seats. Extreme stage left but right at the stage. It was table seating so it got even better when we turned our chairs around and could look at the stage without twisting or sitting sideways. It was rather like a Quarantine Concert as his hands were clearly visible. And that is a fond way to remember it.

This morning I took out the trash, vacuumed, and wiped down my desk. For breakfast I made dinty moore beef stew with some pasta added in. I watched some Moral Orel, great show.

On stream I warmed up with Rats upon DS's request. I also had a lot of Tablet trouble and had to restart twice before I could start working. I learned that rats lend themselves very well to the oval technique. I worked on the Venus commission for an hour and then switched to my Sparkle On YCH. I drew a good body but it didn't fit my otter and might not fit many others that get this YCH so I'll be doing a lot of body modification for each one. It'll up the price.

After work I hopped on VRchat with the intention of multitasking. I was going to try to tweak my social organization but I couldn't with this girl in the lobby talking mine and TK's ears off. She was interesting but she wouldn't let us get a word in. Also she was drunk. I mostly partook in the conversation while I made lunch with was tuna casserole I've never made before. It was pretty good and I even had milk to use.

After lunch I worked on my millie cuck art drawing moxie's frame. I had to redo the colors because I didn't like what I made which was hard but always worth it for a better result. I hung out in BR's server while working, I watched videos with them on the side. For awhile her and JG left and it was just me. I vibed out to classic music of mine until BR got back. We chatted while I worked on my Mr Bean world. I'm finding that even with such a simple world, I probably need a trello for it. When I was done, I almost immediately hopped into VRchat to attend RS's birthday part for a tiny bit like I said I would. It's not really my scene but it seemed really important to him that I attended. Also my mom called him to wish happy birthday which was funny. I was a little offput by the extreme amount of PDA I saw. I got off to chill a little bit before DS got on since I was getting socially overloaded. I watched some more Moral.

When she got on we hung out in a Black Cat to start. She was very grateful for her new controller allowing her to move properly. Our old friend Chicken Tendies joined and we all got to talk about our food/church trauma. Also someone recognized her as Franky Stein. I wanted to try Probability Labs which was very rocky. It was hard to find a functioning game for some reason and when we did, there was just some bad luck making the rounds kinda lame. We left to go chat since I think that was the vibe. We hopped to a Mars world where we followed a wholesome kid around. As usual some douchebags didn't know that you should treat kids online with care. They had explicit avatars and were antagonistic. We then went to a moon world where we really started talking. Then we went to a flower world and talked about heavier things. We both got to give our ted talks and it was a nice exchange.

In bed we smoked wordle and I progressed in KH2 a tiny bit.

How to Increase Hemoglobin Naturally

There are many different kinds of anemia. Both cancer and the treatment for cancer can cause aplastic anemia, where one’s body cannot make enough red blood cells, white blood cells, platelets, or hemoglobin.  

As mentioned in a previous post, there are natural ways to help increase one’s red blood cell count.  This starts with giving your body the necessary ingredients for red blood cell production, including vitamins B6, B9 (folate), B12, iron, and copper. 

This is also true with hemoglobin. Hemoglobin is a protein found in red blood cells that carries oxygen throughout the body. Oxygen strongly binds to iron, so an increase in iron can raise one’s hemoglobin level. If your hemoglobin is low, it’s a good idea to ask your doctor to test your iron, ferritin (stored iron), TIBC (total iron binding capacity), and iron saturation levels in order to determine exactly how much iron you need. As a functional medicine doctor, my target lab values for each are as follows:

Iron - 100 Ferritin - 100 TIBC - 350 Iron Saturation - 35-40%

Too much iron can cause toxicity in the body so it’s important to have your levels checked before starting on an iron supplement. Also, some iron supplements can cause GI upset, nausea, and constipation. Here’s one I use in my practice that I strongly recommend. It's highly absorbable and (generally) does not have any side effects, Thore Ferrasorb (Iron).  

In addition, here is a list of foods that are high in iron. 

Red meat (beef, lamb)

Poultry (chicken, turkey)

Seafood (oysters, clams, tuna, shrimp)

Legumes (lentils, chickpeas, beans)

Dark leafy green vegetables (spinach, kale, escarole, collard greens)

It’s also important to consume foods that are high in vitamin B12, B9 (Folate), and chlorophyll as they help with red blood cell production. 

Foods High in Vitamin B12:

Shellfish (clams, mussels, crab)

Fish (salmon, trout, tuna)

Meat (beef, lamb)

Poultry (chicken, turkey)

Eggs

Fortified plant-based milk alternatives (like almond, cashew, macadamia, and coconut milk)

Foods High in Vitamin B9 (Folate):

Dark leafy green vegetables 

Asparagus

Broccoli

Legumes

Beans (lentil, black bean, kidney bean)

Avocado

Citrus fruits (orange, lemon, lime. Avoid grapefruit as it may interact with medications.)

Fortified cereals and bread

Foods High in Chlorophyll: 

Spinach

Kale

Romaine

Arugula

Seaweed 

Finally, it's worth noting that consuming foods rich in vitamin C along with iron-rich foods can enhance iron absorption. Additionally, avoid consuming foods that may inhibit iron absorption, such as tea, coffee, and calcium-rich foods, during or immediately after meals.

While iron supplements and diet can help increase hemoglobin levels, it's always best to consult with your personal healthcare providers for a comprehensive evaluation and personalized advice and consider exploring these resources for additional support.
