This is something I’ve shown before but I really like using it for headcanons!!

I want to pick out something in specific, his emotional detachment. This such a big thing when I comes to me personally interpreting his character. And I always talk about it, but emotional detachment affects you more than anything and it definitely aligns with his sarcastic, obnoxious personality.

I am someone who has dealt with emotional detachment and I am still working through it so this is all coming from experience.

What is emotional detachment:

Emotional detachment is when you disengage or disconnect from other people's emotions. This is hard, very hard, mostly you don’t realise it’s happening.

It normally occurs from stressful situations and trauma, in Tobys case this makes sense due to his home life, sisters death, bullying etc. It is also a symptom of schizophrenia.

Being bullied made me feel disconnected from others due to the fact I was an “outsider” I felt like I couldn’t relate.My emotions to me weren’t like other peoples emotions. I didn’t feel like I felt what they felt. It made me a very awkward person.

I could not be affectionate to other people, I couldnt empathise or sympathise.

Our ability to empathise with other people defines our ability to find/have strong bonds and long-lasting relationships.

Toby would most likely be similar to that.

This is something that irritates me, people acting like Toby would be perfect because he hated his dad.

Am I saying he’s an abuser? No, I’m not claiming shit like that. But what I am saying is he’s not a great person, understand that.

It would be hard for Toby to connect in relationships, he would probably be rather neglectful due to not understanding those strong emotions other people feel.

He would not listen to you because he can’t relate to what you’re saying and he would most likely put his needs before yours.

Emotional detatchment makes you an asshole, I’ll be real about that, you simply do not care but you don’t mean to because in a sense you can’t comprehend why it’s looked down on. You can be neglectful and ignorant, things like for example sex would not interest him if we’re thinking extreme.

Which is another thing, I hate when people make him out to be a horny guy with pent up anger and say it would be canon.

Toby doesn’t remember his past, he enjoys killing too. I’m not saying he can have pent up anger I’m just saying I highly, highly doubt he would be a sexually frustrated individual due to his emotional detatchment.

Basically: Would he be a bad friend/boyfriend? Yes but not intentionally, he would be neglectful in your relationship due to not understanding connections.

Toby’s emotions would not be tied to his behaviours, this accounts for his sarcasm and obnoxiousness.

“He doesn’t know how to play nice”

This could relate to the emotional detachment because emotion detachment makes you EXTREMELY socially “confused”, as I like to call it, it’s hard to gather thoughts and behaviours at the same time so it usually leads to you being accidentally loud or too outgoing without realising.

You don’t know how to act in situations so you just sorta do what ever!

Some Headcanons relating to his personality:

His voice is very flat and monotonous

He has seemingly inappropriate reactions to some situations eg overwhelming anger, or an outburst of laugher.

He enjoys giving subtle digs, he knows it makes people uncomfortable and he notices it pushes boundaries. He doesnt understand it’s hurtful, it’s more just him taking a joke too far without realising.

When talking to him he would seem occupied and uninterested, he rarely initiates discussions.

Doesn’t see signs of people wanting to get close to him.

It was so so magical, after A YEAR of waiting and clinging to the idea of stages finale, after it had been so long and people that just didnt believe saying no, it's not stages because it doesnt make sense or that it got retconned, They Were Wrong. And they couldnt take that win from me, even if they tried. It was even funnier when I saw people a day later finding the clip of Punz and Dream talking about Drem's "betrayal", long before he had been imprisoned, and they called it "a lost clip". But it wasnt lost, not to me. I had always known and I Had Been There when it had happened. Unbelievable, I really felt like I Won.

...I'll have to say the jailbreak; I was hoping for one since before I saw any of the streams - back when all I really knew about the prison arc came from the title of a DSMP playlist that YouTube's algorithm recommended to me on my second day in the fandom (true story) - and seeing it play out honestly made my entire year.

The DSMP finale doesn't just hit hard, but I also enjoy the conclusion it gave to the conflict between Dream, Tommy, and the prison era, especially looking it at from a literary view.

The 2nd moment is more really the entire actual finale between Dream, Punz, Tommy and Tubbo - Staged duo got revealed to the wider world and my friends and I were celebrating for having been proven right again, it was just so amazing. And it really continued on and ended better than any of us could have hoped for and anyone arguing that it's bad that Dream got redeemed And Then The Nuke Happened, in my opinion, fundamentally didnt understand what Dream and Tommy's whole Feud was about - yes I said that Tommy is my least favorite character, but that's a good thing for a lot of instances, especially the finale, so when He Finally Understood His Enemy, I was downright in tears Sorry for the rant, I had to get all of that out qwq

Okay so theres this AU that only got like two posts on tumblr I think its called Stoplight? Where Dream is an eldrich abomination that thought he was just playing with his friends and that none of the wars were real, hell he doesn't even know what war is! He thought all of DSMP was just one big game of Manhunt where he pretended to play and had a safe word system which Ranboo triggered on accident and revealed to everyone that Dream could stop all of this at any time.

My own canon-divergent AU featuring enemies-to-friend pre-finale Dream and Tommy, 👍. Tommy stalks Dream to a house he made, tries to kill him, fails and gets captured, Dream experiments revival on him and ends up making him immortal, Tommy decides to drag Dream down with him and also make him immortal, and they somehow kind of become “friends” along the way. They are very dear to me, <3. As for a headcanon, the first thing that comes to mind is the idea that Dream’s first limbo was the prison. Another one, tho, is the idea that the revival book is binary, and that when it gets burnt it worms its way into the code, bringing the specified player back to life.

Chapter 1

The winter air blew into his face when he exited the shop, it made him shiver from the shop, but he had to go outside, he entered the church and headed down the elevator, he was greeted by Gerald sipping on hot chocolate and Arthur was talking with Miss Bon Bon, he sat down, drinking the black coffee that was presumably made by Gerald for him

He took a cigarette and lit it, taking a puff and sipped on the coffee, its hard to act like enemies in public when deep down they are all lovers. Though Gerald feels quite left out out of everything they do

"Whats up with you today, Felix?" Gerald said bluntly

He rolled his eyes "Just some nobody girl entered my shop, extremely disreveled, disgusting..."

Gerald sighs "You are too picky with women, or anyone"

Felix tried to defend himself but was cut off by Arthur "Thats enough, both of you" Felix complied to Arthur

Felix took another puff of of his cigarette, he finishes the coffee and sighs, tired of being just them three, but all the women they tried to ask rejected or left after taking a sum of money, Gerald couldnt careless, just wanting the new person to love him. And Arthur...was indifferent, he was content with just them but he cant help but please Felix and Gerald, despite their differences, they tried to find a common ground, but no luck

Felix puts out the cigarette and looked at himself in the mirror, disgusted on how frog-like his face was, he wanted to get surgery before but Arthur and Gerald stopped him instantly

He waa disgusted at his own self image, he didnt fit into any other character type except "the pretty one" or "the eye candy" it damaged his own self esteem and view of self worth but Arthur always had a way to make him feel better. Always

But he was blind to the gaslighting and manipluation

"Arthur, do you think am too skinny...?" Felix nervously asked the much more confiedent man

Though Arthur thought the same, he was far too skinny for his own health, he would do anything to please Felix, even if it means adding to his disorder

"No, you look perfectly fine Felix, no one would ever think that" Arthur said while his back turned to Felix, busy fixing up the arrangements for a sponsorship

"Say it to my face then" Felix spat out in irriation, Arthur did as he said, Felix was pleased...for now

And that was just of many examples of his gaslighting, Arthur is a bit ignorant to Felix's and Gerald's needs since he was the "leader", he is meant to please them and boost their ego, right? So he said what they wanted to hear. Never thinking twice if it was damaging them in the long term, he could not care, he will please them in one way or another

Meanwhile Gerald was mostly pushed to the side, mostly only there since he had more money than them combined but not that much power, Gerald often felt lonely, even when they tried to find another person to add

Gerald was just a different kind of a black sheep, a grey sheep of sorts. Liked but also ignored, Gerald often wanted to leave them but couldnt out of love for their relationship, he was too attached for his own good

And there was You. Poor and barely making a living at a rundown café, desprate to just even live, just a pushover, you never gave in to love since it would be a big cost for you, you spent your whole paycheck just for a week worth of groceries, you often tried to make it stretch but often snuck bread from closing time so you had food to eat, it wasnt as fresh as it was in the morning, but you have no other choice

Anyways back to them

Gerald was just bored, desprate to have something to do, so he just decided to head out and explore the less fortunate part of the city, he found the cafe you work at, Gerald didnt mind it, it was cozy but only two people were eating there since it was in the more sketchy part of the town, no rich person would risk being robbed so they dont even bat an eye here

Gerald asked the cashier AKA you for a bagel and some sweet coffee, he sat down and just spaced out, you brought it to his table but he was still spaced out, you snapped your fingers and he was brought back to earth

He thanked you and ate, it was a good cafe but due to not many people able to afford it or not daring to enter the shady part of the city

He finished and gave a massive tip of 100, you never held that much money in your life, you went home as fast as possible, storing the money in your small wooden box of money, it only had a few nickels and soverigns but it finally felt full for once

Next day

You walked to work to see Gerald there, waiting for you, you smiled at him and cleaned up the café and served him what he had yesterday, he felt another 100 dollar tip, it made you happy, it went on for weeks until it was a sum of 1500 soverigns, you dont know what prompted it but figured it was because he was rich

Gerald liked the food there, so he always gave a tip, it was also for the nice server (you) and it just felt right, though the other two were suspicious, they noticed he always left for lunch to somewhere in the shabby part of town

"Gerald, where have you been?! I hope youre not cheating" Felix spat out in anger at him

Gerald responded with a tone, almost like he couldnt care what he thought "Eating out, its not like you or Arthur would come, you always starve yourself anyways" Felix fumed in anger but was interrupted by Arthurs presence

"What are you two arguing about now" Gerald explained his part but felix over dramatically said his, Arthur took Geralds side

"You're overreacting Felix, hes just eating out in one of the more poo- i mean...less fortunate parts of the city" Arthur said, almost matter-of-factly

Felix threw his hands up in the air in anger and left. Leaving the two of them alone, Arthur shook his head in dissaproval but shook it off. He looked into his eyes, appoarched him with a slow movement, looking at his every little movement, Gerald was used to this by now, he was pulled into a kiss by Arthur, forcing his tongue into Geralds mouth. He was agressive but had a sense of gentleness, the kiss was hot and heated. It lasted for a minute until they pulled away

Arthur was pleased and left as well. Leaving gerald alone with his thoughts, he decided to go to the café again, getting his usual, he was tipping them the 100 dollars agsin when their hands brushed, but he suddenly felt a rush of warmth, he brushed it off as your body being warm from the heater inside the café

You didnt notice but was glad you could finally have some more financial freedom, you paid your rent for the next few months and you had 850 left for food and everything else, that was quite enough to last, you were happy with your finacial position for once

What if Kinger is a npc?

So that’s a weird thing to say right? The rest of the cast we’d have to assume is real since pomni’s real right? But there is something interesting mentioned, Caine can create npcs we know this because Jax says "is this another one of your npcs?" When pomni shows up, that mixed with the fact he had to ask also shows that these npcs look like regular characters

Now I don’t know exactly what these npcs could do but it’s likely that they would help around the circus for example, bubble cleans up everything that needs cleaning, now where does this tie in with kinger? Well if we look at his interests something he repeatedly brings up is his fascination in insect collecting, or in another word, bug collecting you see digital games usually have people look through them and test for bugs or things that could go wrong and so kinger is always on the look out for bugs or if somethings not right, for example noticing kaufmo’s decent and also noticing that pomni might not be doing that well either

He also has glitched out on camera which we know probably is not a normal thing due to how others react to glitches (pomni backs around from a flower pot in the ground and gangle looks worried when kinger glitches) i think caines the only one we see glitch or pause suddenly with out anything causing it (like a abstraction or some other bug) because he’s a Ai

Also another thing to mention is kingers paranoia is incredibly useful if he’s a npc, because not only will he think to test out more bugs but is also more prone to repeating those bug checks which is really helpful (code can break after a update so double testing helps a lot) also just the fact he can get scared of someone who he literally knows is right besides him is interesting, yeah it’s probably a joke but a npc will still show a prompted reaction if needed, you’d just have to trigger it (like standing in a blind spot)

ALSO HE COULDNT HELP ZOOBLE-? We know he can grab stuff and can carry zooble so that’s not the issue, but here where the theory kinda explains some stuff, npcs likely can’t help on adventures they can only guide them to where they need to go, which kinger technically does since he and gangle find the nest of the gloinks, now you could argue he couldn’t help zooble because his hands were stolen, which would make sense but wouldn’t they get stolen along with his pillow fort? Wouldn’t they get stolen when zooble was? These things steal literally anything that isn’t pinned down to the ground yet they don’t take kingers hands until he tries to help zooble? It doesn’t make much sense to me-

Next thing to mention he hasn’t abstracted and has been here the longest out of our cast, he’s clearly not sane being glitchy and incredibly paranoid constantly but he’s fine not signs of abstracting since he hasn’t shown any symptoms of talking about a exit or actually doing anything too bad a npc wouldn’t want to exit because there’s no reason to unless it’s in their script, he doesn’t have a life to return to so he’s not looking for a way out therefore he can’t abstract

hi !! i absolutely adore your rewriting concepts and i was wondering something since i want to try making a warriors-based story of my own--where did you get your information to determine what you should change from warriors canon? i know theres a lot of anti-indigenous writing styles in og warriors and i definitely want to avoid any of that but so far ive only been able to find one info doc about that kind of thing. i'm mainly asking about naming systems right now though so i guess do you have any advice/resources on how to approach the naming systems in warriors (like the prefix/suffix pattern, the -star thing, etc.)?

Ok, its been a WHILE since I looked into this so I dont really have any links to any info posts, tho u may find some info if u just google! However here are my takes/how Im doing things in RoC!

I changed it from "Clans" to "Orders", I can definitely see the argument that Clans isnt super bad since the term it originates from Scotland with the Scottish Clans, but I have seen many people express discomfort with it since it is also used in regards to Native Americans so I decided to change it, I wouldn't hold it against someone if they didn't tho (at least in my opinion)

With warrior cats names, I couldnt bring myself to completely remove the naming system since it is such and important and cool part of warriors, but I did add some lore and rule changes so it is more separate from Native names! I made it so a cats name is their prefix and their suffix is now a Title which is used like an honorific (ex: Dr. Sir. Ms.), I also added more solid rules as to what each title means and I like the idea of the Title Ceremony being more similar to a Knighting!

I have seen people express dislike towards the star suffix, I dont actually have the info on /why/ its appropriation (if anyone has the info on that , that would be great) but I already really liked the idea of Star being before the name so I just went with it!

Overall I try to take any other inspo from cultures I am comfortable taking from, for me that's Britain, Ireland and Scotland since that's who I descend from (also i not think its a problem if I steal from white ppl LOL)! an example of this is how i think if i do start designing the Order's tools, garments, building structures, food, etc I will borrow from those cultures!

i was wondering if i could ask your opinion, as much as you can offer it to a stranger from the internet.... i know its not easy to give meaningful advice on complicated matters to total strangers.

im 29, i have a very good degree and a decent job, i am not more insane or annoying than an average person and i look just fine. i do however have a problem finding a long term partner. ive been working very hard at uni/later as an intern so it didnt leave much time for a rich social life and lot of dating. i also had the misfortune of spending several years in a very unhealthy relationship when i was about 20, young and stupid. several years of determined singleness followed immediatelly after that.

so now that im old and less stupid, ive tried dating apps, ive tried going out for drinks with acquaintances but never more than 2 or 3 times with the same guy. i do have high standards... and im a smart independent woman which im told is not extremely popular with men. anyway.

i recently met a guy 1 year younger than me who works in the same profession but is only just starting, in contrast to me being a bit of a bitter old veteran. ive been kind to him as one is to new people, and hes been slightly smitten with me as a result, if i dare guess so. we went out for drinks a few times, he seems sweet, kind and doesnt harbor any extremist political beliefs (its important to me not to date fascist-sympathisers). thats all very nice but unfortunately he doesnt exactly look very attractive to me. i feel good around him bc he is kind and lovely but i think i have too much edge and that he couldnt handle my darker sides (lots of cynism, LOTS) bc he is sich a sweet summer child. and i also feel that i havent yet lived wildly and slept around and experienced all the instant gratification options life has to offer, definitelly not enough to just drop everything and consider a serious relationship with someone who doesnt feel like ive won the dating lottery (its bc of certain personal problems hes told me of having, and its bc of the looks. im an impossibly visually-oriented person. and shallow.)

so i am very tempted to slowly explore this and the options it could offer (for example a serious relationship) but i also feel like i might be setting myself up for failure and him for a lot of heartbreak. whatever should i do?

until now ive only ever continued dating people i was really attracted to... sometimes despite their dubious political beliefs. so actually this might be the new strategy that would yield positive results, dating someone for their impeccable moral standards and kindness rather than a pronounced jawline. Here's my take – given the information you so kindly and vulnerably shared with me:

If you're still single, there's no reason to make the prospect of dating (generally or casually dating a specific person) into a black-and-white experience. You can casually date as many people as you would like until you mutually decide to be exclusive with someone. Think of dating as a networking experience: It's a chance to meet and connect with various types of people. They can become (business or pleasure, in this case) partners, friends, acquaintances, or connectors to others who will soon become members of your close inner circle (maybe even a further partner or spouse – who knows!).

You can decide to date different people for different reasons. Sometimes, you just want good conversation and decide later that you're better off as friends. Exploring the emotional intimacy aspect of a relationship with someone of the gender you're attracted to can teach you a lot about yourself and the type of partner you ultimately want to end up with – even if you don't ever kiss, let alone sleep together. Just make sure, in this case, to share that you only have a platonic connection with him before he gets too invested. Being selfish when dating is essential, but never be cruel and lead people on.

Suppose you want to see where this connection goes, without commitment. In that case, you can always indulge in casual sex with others you are physically attracted to and only go on dates with this man in a more casual dating/companionship way.

It is better to be technically alone than lonely in a committed relationship. You deserve nothing but the best. Never settle for less. i've written scripts before but i always struggle with trying to get my ideas onto paper in the form of coherent sentences :,) idk your scripts always turn out so gorgeously written so i thought it couldnt hurt to ask for a bit of advice <3

(i should clarify: i'm trying to start drafting a screenplay for this story i've been planning for months but i've been staring at a blank page for hours 🥲 if you have any tips on how to translate ideas into actual writing that would be super helpful)

AH you’re so sweet, i’m far from a master, but i’m happy to share the stuff i’ve learned as a third year undergrad.

so like, for me, i struggle with figuring out what to do in scenes and how to make them…useful? if that makes sense? in a good script and a good film, every scene moves the plot forward, the character arc forward, or both. (by forward i mean changes, set backs are obviously a very important part.) so when i sit down to write a new scene, i make a list of everything i want to accomplish.

i’m gonna use this scene of mine as an example. my list looked a little like this:

- primary goal: teens find out about will’s visions

- secondary goal: show how on edge mike and nancy are.

- secondary goal 2: establish the dynamics of the kids and teens working together.

ok, so how can we accomplish those goals? that second one should clearly be an argument since they get on each others nerves. and why don’t we make the argument about why the boys snuck out, bc they have to come clean abt wills visions to explain why they did. and to show that the teens hold more power in the dynamic and that the boys are struggling without their usual freedom, let’s emphasize that the boys did something dangerous the teens specifically told them not to do.

cool, so we have a general idea of what our scene is: nancy chewing the party out. but that’s just an idea. each scene is made up of a bunch of beats stitched together. here’s how i figure out what to put in a scene:

write down A) where everyone starts emotionally in the scene and B) where everyone ends emotionally in the scene. figure out what changes.

nancy is going to start annoyed and end resigned. so….she’s mildly annoyed and then decides it’s fine? that’s not particularly interesting, so how can we’re complicate it. OK, let’s make her get close to blowing up, and then see her be the bigger person and pull back. that way we’re ALSO progressing her character arc and seeing her grow from the hot-tempered girl we saw in early seasons.

i’m trying to kill as many birds with this scene as possible, so i’m ALSO going to add details about what the other characters are doing. it’s important to remember that if you’re going to have a character in the scene, you gotta do SOMETHING with them. here’s a breakdown of some of the choices i made for the other characters in the scene:

mike: very snarky, very on edge, very combative. this is bc he’s fresh off his fight with will, the party is in trouble, and they just failed to save el. i’m using this scene to highlight how upset that would make him and how that anger would affect the people around him.

will: stands up for himself. that’s the most important thing. he will not let himself be spoken over and takes responsibility, says yes, i know we shouldn’t of done this, but we did, and heres why. and we have to do it again. he’s coming into his own!

lucas: he’s defensive but he also kind of bends under the pressure and defaults to nancy. he tries to help will but it’s clear this is an unfamiliar dynamic for him.

dustin: show that he’s not as grounded as he probably should be.

steve: steve has four lines. FOUR lines, but we’re still doing something with him. he calls nance out, tells dustin to stop, but also tells the boys nancy is right. he’s very serious rn and it’s a good way to reinforce that his disagreement with nancy is not petty (never petty) and he’s always coming from a place of genuine concern.

jonathan: jonathan helps pull nancy back and dies everything he can to support her bc HES A GREAT BOYFRIEND and that was what i did with him. also expressing concern for not only wills safety, but the whole party’s. he also shows some leadership.

on that note, i also want to explore relationships in the scene:

jancy: they’re supporting each other without being asked. reinforce that this is a strong partnership, even through rocky waters

byler: will telling mike to back off and mike listening. mike being protective of will even though they’re still technically fighting.

dustin & steve: the dynamic between him and steve is shifting. steve is part of The Teens and dustin is not. steve tells him to quit it kind of sternly. this is new for them.

nancy & steve: mentioned before, steve will call nancy out but also back her up. no malice or pettiness in his heart.

the party: dustin and lucas try to cheer will up and defend themselves. they’re close.

basically you can accomplish a lot in a scene bc not every “accomplishment” has to be a massive thing. it can be as small as “dustin looks down” to show he feels chastised, which is new to him!

worst comes to worst, word vomit. Write the worst possible version of your scene ON PURPOSE and then edit from there. you just gotta get something down.

AH ok that’s all i have for now but if you have more specific questions please please please send them! I wasn’t really sure what to put here, so I just kind of word vomited. Hope this helps!

I'm currently in academia to study art history and medieval studies but I mostly focus on odd things that fall in the in-between (example: medieval art in modern crime dramas, another was the representation of plagues [mostly black plague and dancing plague] ). 1 Power Len's

Power len's is a thing that Volt gifted Michael in the first chapter, ill start from the beguining, from where they come from, whats theier use and why they dont make them anymore. Im saying all thos thing hire because i dont see my self trying to explain it by Volts perspective

They where first produced once Vault 09 was on lockdown, they couldnt be produces seperatly so special mechs where created to hold them, its said that they firstly needed a "fake soul" for them to work, then when the time came, they would force the mech to give up theier lens, which resulted in a lot of them dying because they would only give thos lenses to thos who where pure hearted. Thos mechs then proseded to ither hide theier lens for theier entire life, or just straight up break them so no one can use them. Now in the world of Silent land only inside old vaults, there is a very small chance that youll find one of tho legendary lends, even rarer if there is a operational mech inside one,

Once a human has the lens planted in them, they will notise changes right away, if we take michael as a example, half of his body is flowing with power liquid, (if that makes seanse) soo if the thing is planted on the right side of your body, that side will start to produce power liquid, if the chest is the place the lens is the whole body will be flowing with blood and power liquid. The lens acts as a new heart to the body, and when exposed to light, the power liquid production is higher, the production can be also encrised by eating food, or if your high on energy.

When someone is just injected with the lens it dosent mean that someone has the full power yet, they can only make one simple holografic "nail" that can become anything pretty much, but in small size, this hologram can interact with the real world, they can also break physics, that someone can only use that, untill the mech that gave that someone the lens, allows its owner the "admin mode", this mode can be only activated when the lens owener is asleep, allowing the mech to allow the admin mode.

But im gonna go back for a bit, the orb is pretty much the lobby for the human, and you can pretty much modify the orb to become a nail, so that you can then modyfy it to anything, ok back on track.

Once the human that has the lens becomes the admin, well basicly that human becomes a god, then the orb will allow him to do a lot of diffrent things, things like:

-Body modification to limitless extend. This allows the lens user to expand or compress theier bodies, it also alows them to create:

Wings, tails, bio mech attachments, unadaiafable attachments,

They can also add weight to theier bodies and make it lighter, this means that theier bodies can become lighter then air or just really light which allows them to glide and jump really high.

-telekinesis with anything in sight. Anything that they see and isnt attached to anything, they can pick up with just theier will power, that also break laws of physics because any object thats picked up losees its weight.

-special view. This can mean a few diffrent things, which are:

Sight thrue walls, automatic info on anything that you look at, special place locator which allows the user to see cretan points, like citys,vaults ect. And how far away you are from them (doesnt work in Abyssal trail).

Also the lens when its implantet cant be broken, ever. And the lens acts as a heart that produces power liquid

And believe me, I’ve been in your shoes. Seriously. Even now, I still have 26474885 new things I want to try with my art and things I want to change. But I DO have some tips for you- hopefully theyre good tips!

So, I think one of the key things is looking at other artists and pulling their art apart.

Practice and spending the time actually creating art is important, but I’d argue that spending time analyzing art is equally important. I spend a lot of time looking at art, and then instead of just staring at it, I try and figure out what EXACT elements of it that I want to incorporate into my own work. For example, if I like the way somebody does lineart, and the way another person does their rendering, I’ll try and figure out how they did it & why I like it & try to combine it with the way another artist does rendering or lines/the way I want to do them. I spend a LOT of time pulling at apart, seriously. I send various pieces to my own private discord server channel & literally talk to myself about them and what exactly I like about them and how EXACTLY I want to change my own work. I do probably as much typing as I do drawing when it comes to art.

Also, a good question to ask yourself when you see a piece of art you like is “I like this art, BUT- do I want my art to look like this?”. There’s artists whose styles I ADORE, but I don’t want my art to look like theirs- for example, I love looking at people with super heavily stylized art with only flat colouring & no rendering, but it’s not how I want my art to look & isn’t the type of art that I enjoy creating.

So, being able to pull apart various pieces and go “okay, WHY do I like this piece and DO i want MY art to look like this?” is something that’s definitely helped me.

I also think it’s super important to set actual, solid goals and figure out what you want your art to do.

What I mean when I say “figure out what you want your art to do,” is in terms of “okay, well, do you want everything more flat and visible with less rendering and less volume? or more rendering and more volume? Do you want to focus on design/concept work? Do you want to be able to do complex poses or complex lighting or both? What matters more to you- having a painting with dramatic, heavily contrasting lighting, or having a style where everything is easily visible & not obscured by shadow, or some combination of the two? Do you want to be good at drawing couples? Complex backgrounds? Both? HOW do you want to draw those couples and complex backgrounds? Lots of volume? Minimal volume? Focus on lighting? Focus on lines? Somewhere in between? tc"

Personally, I try and visualize it as a give and take situation/a sliding scale with tradeoffs when it comes to stylization. On one side of my scale, I’ve got super linework-focused, flat colours art that’s more focused on shape and less focused on volume and minimal lighting. On the opposite side, I’ve got super rendered, painterly art with complex lighting. And I’ve been trying to find an ideal combination of the two, and that’s where the tradeoffs I mentioned come in.

My work used to be even MORE linework heavy than it is now/flatter (which is great, just not the direction I wanted to personally keep going), and I had SO much trouble doing painting/rendering and it frustrated me and I couldnt figure out why. But then, I realized I had to make a tradeoff- my complex linework didn’t work well for heavily rendered styles, because the sketches/drawings/lines for paintings on that “super rendered basically no visible linework” side of the art scale are generally meant to be more for function rather than form.

My lines weren’t serving the function they needed to, they weren’t doing the heavy lifting that they needed to, so the rest of the painting would collapse & wouldn’t work and I would get frustrated as all hell when trying to paint.

What I mean when I talk about the lines doing heavy lifting is what I said earlier with the sketches in painterly styles generally being more function over form. I needed to think of my lines as supporting the painting and acting more as a *map* for things like the lighting (see: shadow mapping) & as using fewer lines to make room for more volume (the tradeoff). My lines weren't doing that, I wasn't really thinking about where I was putting them/how I was using them/how they interacted with other elements of the piece (such as the lighting & how that affects the way I do lines).

I also highly highly highly recommend the book/resource "anatomy for sculptors"- you can find a bunch of excerpts from it on pinterest/all over the internet, but it really is a phenomenal resource and a unique resource IMO because it does a really great job of demonstrating the link between the anatomy vs the planes of the face/shapes that make up that anatomy, and bridging the gap between 2D shapes and 3D forms.

Also, just some basic tips that help me in general: -Your areas of detail should also be your areas of high contrast. This sounds more complicated than it actually is, but basically, it doesn't matter how much detail you put in a low-contrast area of a painting, because it won't show up (because it's low contrast). So, keeping your high contrast areas as your detail areas is a good thing to keep in mind, esp when working on more complex paintings. -General proportion "rules". I try and keep in mind some general rough tips like "the eyes should have the width of one eye between them," and "the face should be roughly the sized of a splayed out hand".

-Straights vs curves. I think about the straight lines vs the curved lines a LOT in my art.

-What works for me may not work for you. Different people think differently. What works for other artists may not work for either or us. What works for other artists may work great for you but not for me.

Also, experiment with different brushes. They DO make a difference. No brush will fix a lack of understanding of the fundamentals, but a brush that works for you will make those fundamentals easier to learn/apply. Personally, I draw with a combination of the default photoshop pressure opacity tapered airbrush and one of Ruan Jia's free textured square brushes.

And also, experiment with overlay layers/all those different types of layer. Seriously, that was a gamechanger for me, especially in terms of stylization and giving more of my art that warm feeling/look that it has. My art actually usually starts out very cool toned and I slowly warm it up via colour changes and various yellow (or other colours) overlay/soft light etc layers.

And I don’t say any of this to box you in/overwhelm you, just to give you a list of things I wish I knew sooner.

Also, I think people focus too much on having one consistent style. I 10000% understand needing to have a consistent style for commission purposes, but as far as just developing your art goes. just experiment and figure out what you like and what works best and the style WILL come.

Look I mean it in the kindest way I can, but, I think some people really need to learn to Wing It to get through situations.

The easiest example I can give is left-handed products. Like people will charge more to make scissors that are For Lect Handed People, when you could just make them symmetrical. They make books or pens and market them for left handed people so they dont smear the pages as if that couldnt be solved by either being careful with how you hold your pen, making sure the ink isnt too wet or uh using Any Other makeshift tool.

But this post isnt about left handed products really. It's about this whole mindset of needing to have the Right Tool For the Right Situation and not being able to just make a solution with the stuff you don't use anymore. Sometimes it's good to sit down, see what you need and see what things could be useful at the moment. And if it's something harder to find like say, specific tools, ask around before buying something for yourself if you only plan to use them once

After I split with my ex, it took me a while to get my head around it, like justifying to myself that I wasnt in the wrong etc andthat the way he was treating me was wrong and I shouldn't feel guilty about breaking it off etc.... I ended up trying to do like a 3rd point of view perspective thing... so like, I would explain everything that happened and how I felt and then try to see it from another point of view so like this other point of view would go. . "So you didnt reply to his message within an hour because you were literally in a college class which he knew beforehand, and he took the huff and wouldnt speak to you for over day as punishment?? You shouldn't not feel bad about ending it" obvs I had more extreme examples too lol but I dony wanna delve into them much it's like baggage ahaha

But afterwards, like when i was over him and had no feelings towards him etc, i thought i was fine and then discovered i wasnt... so like i could meet someone and really like them and find them attractive etc, and their personality and vibe really well and when I started to fancy this guy I was like omg yes thisnis nice and he acc seems a lot nicer than my ex woop woop. But then as soon I started to think about being in an actual romantic relationship with him I couldnt, I felt physically sick and anxious??? I literally couldn't face the idea of a relationship being like my previous one and I realised that while I was over him, I had some other issues as a result of the relationship I had to deal with instead.

I did get over it though

But I thought he hadnt cared too, like he would delete every single pic of us literally within an hour of us breaking up.... he blocked me, and things he didnt block me on, he would post stuff like "good riddance" and stuff that basically made out he didnt care and it was all me etc and that I meant nothing to him....... he would add all these girls and shared their photos with hearts etc....

Anyway like a few months later he literally tried to get in touch saying he was sorry and he missed me and thought about me everyday etc and couldnt get over me

I ignored him though and that was that

but yeah, im definitely scared of falling in love again. but i really hope that the next time it happens, im gonna be more mature and sensible and things will be clearer for me. i mean obviously that's gonna be the case cos i fell in love with B when i was 17 and even now things would be different. but the thought of being in a relationship any time soon makes me very anxious. i think my next serious relationship is gonna be in like 5 years from now. for now the vibe is celibacy all the way!

i wonder how i would feel if B reached out to me again. bc i know it's very stupid of me, but it makes me sad that he didn't try to get me back, you know? like he didn't fight for me. he tried a little bit and maybe i have high expectations, but it didn't feel like it was enough. a deep dark side of me wishes he suffered more. and don't get me wrong, he did suffer. i left him without a warning and i still feel terribly guilty about that. the night i left he stood outside my parents' balcony and shouted my name and thinking about that makes my skin crawl. i feel awful. but at the same time something about that was so satisfying bc it felt like he had finally acknowledged me and my feelings.

but idk. maybe im spiteful and vengeful. and sadistic. but i fantasise about him begging me on his knees to take him back and crying and sleeping by my front door and following me around like a puppy dog asking for forgiveness. the last time we saw each other and had sex i strangled him, wishing i could actually choke him to death. i wanted to see despair in his eyes and absolute submission to me. like finally, after all the suffering i had endured, finally i could have full control over him and make him mine. you know?

but he never fought for me. and from a sensible perspective, that's good. he accepted my rejection and left me alone. and that kind of things requires great discipline, so good for him i guess. im thankful for that. but from like a twisted toxic perspective, i wish he'd message me saying that he misses me.

Hello, I saw your post about being open for readings and thought I would try at asking a question if that's alright. Lately I have been contemplating the concept of a curse, I have been a witch for 5 years and understand the concept within its typical context and discourse, but I find that often times we tend to view ourselves as being 'cursed' when we see the repetition of an event or fault within ourselves; this can be something we see suddenly begin at some point in our lives (clear or vague) or believe to come from birth (maybe a past life). In some ways, rationally I know I'm not cursed and that it has more to do with my self perception, but looking back at my life I see a history in which I'm alone, incapable of making friends or successfully socialising with others except for a few online friends and shallow irl friendships who aren't part of my daily life (unlike other forced/awkward interactions). I would like to know if, when, and how this will change? Is it really a curse that I've placed on myself or was born with?

hello :) reading this ask, i just wanted to take a second to appreciate your occult philosophy because mine is very similar and its fascinating talking with other practitioners and witches! & while reading your question, i got a very cerebral and intellectual vibe from you. you spend so much time refining your perspectives and personal beliefs- its like a mental tinker toy that you always add, remove, transmute, and transform with. you are always learning and try to add / question it and its cool. scientist philosopher vibe and it makes sense with the cap ris and sag sun!

a quick astrological note i have about sagittarius is that a lot of them that ive been friends with (i have a lot of sag friends - im a gemini so sister signs hehe) never feel at place anywhere. not only physically, but even with friends too? even the extroverted ones who have the skill and charisma of socializing never feel at place or 'real' with anyone - jupiter (ruling planet) is an outer planet and they are more focused on large-scale collective issues / philosophy, etc. and their energies tend to be heavier / more intense with outer planets imo. esp with saturn as your ruler (im going to guess your sun in sag is in the 12th house if your rising is in cap! i have a 12th house too and 12th house planets are veryyyy important to your soul's path and how it experiences existence) a 12th house sun indicates someone more withdrawn who only feels comfortable being who they are alone - however, often enough, they find themselves emotionally in conflicts with this. 12th housers are notably known for experiencing loneliness, however, not only can this change (the 12th house has highhh spiritual energy within it that can manifest sooooo much holy shit) 12th housers are natural psychics, channelers, and magicians. its part of their soul path. when they learn to channel more from a place of pure self acceptance, self-love, etc. - existence will be so much easier for them.

i have a couple 12th house placements and when i was younger i couldnt click with anyone either - for example, i hate television and mass media. i use tumblr as a spiritual space which is nice but thats about it. i have others but all of it exhausts me tbh. i read a lot of philosophy and psych (im a phi and psych major) and its made me see the world differently. i took for more sensitive intelligent yet fun types! those people can be hard to find and when i was younger and not in control of my 12th house energies (aka always having self guilt, intense self hatred, intense ego inflation / wanting to achieve worldly goals) i couldnt manifest or meet any of them. i spend a lot of time alone (but honestly my psychic abilities thriveee when im alone so realize that the 12th house has hidden gifts and they r so fun hehe) and through self-healing, when i noticed myself shedding those parts of myself that were channeling dark energy, my life manifested better in all areas. when you shed the ego, oddly enough spirit comes through and blesses your life and im so serious with this one. my relationship to the world changed radically, same with my family, friends, i came into alignment with my soulmates. the 12th house is all about learning self-forgiveness and changing negative mental patterns- like i think, from reading your question, you are blaming yourself a lot like "whats wrong with me?" or "what am i doing to 'dispel' people?" i dont think this is the case. its wild because other people find you really cool and intelligent but in a detached way while you see yourself so much lesser than. but ur cool asf so remember that haha. i think that recognizing what qualities you like in people instead of what you lack in yourself might help - there is a good manifestation tool where you write spells/ affirmations and put it on the windowsill and forget about it. when you write what you want, you have to be specific (to make sure the spell doesnt work wrong), use positive energy, and use the present tense as if it has already happened. this might help you redirect and refocus a bit?

i also want to say that witches and mystics can often feel lonely- i notice this a lot with my intuitive friends where they either need a lot of alone time or cant find those introspective, deep, solacing, and safe connections that they crave. they exist out there, and i think alignment will help. trust in yourself. i keep getting the whole self-love message here - your guides are stressing this a lot - also i would recommend looking into 12th house placements because (i cant exaggerate it enough) that's the fix- the only way out is from within.

though im not too familiar with the specifics of curses (i practice light magick) i see curses as reversible forces and i truly believe in the unconditional love of the Absolute (the universe) and its extensions of Being (the soul in the immaterial realms, and the ego in the material realms). the lessons that our souls are learning on earth are stepping stones to our revolution. opening up the heart to the unconditional patience and forgiveness to yourself is so essential - don't rest in shame or feel like 'something is wrong with you'. fear feeds on fear, and love breeds on love. Sometimes 12th house placements can feel like a curse but it’s moreso what state of mind you have. If anything, the 12th house is karma to resolve. Just make sure you aren’t blaming yourself and that it can be so difficult to connect with people and it’s not your fault at all - imo from a philosophical standpoint, we have capitalism to blame. Marx’s theory of alienation is interesting.

I hope that this could help and that it resonates! energy is such a malleable and manipulative source so you can use this for good causes such as energy transmutation and rebirth. i think that expanding out into your interests and trying to find people similar to you might help? like i think you seek mental stimulation and you should look for those types? like most people seem kind of unconnectable or maybe even childish to you and i don't blame you at all for that

my mom is such a fucking bitch istg. she put some full fat yogurt in my smoothie for breakfast and she thought i was stupid enough not to notice. i got pissed at her because a) she didnt fucking tell me b)i dont eat milk or eggs c) it was full fat yogurt d) did i mention she didnt fucking tell me?!?!

i tasted it and imediatlelly knew there was yogurt in it, i asked her if she put yogurt in it, she said no i just put this one... and looked thru the trash for an empty vegan yogurt container which she didnt find, then she went to the fridge and when she couldnt find the yogurt she should of used she just told me as if she was being soo honest and would of definatelly told me even if she did find the empty container. i obv got fucking pissed and said nope im not having it, she was like ok i can make u something else and i was like bitch no im not eating what you make me.

after appologizing and trying to minimize the issue so i look like im the one overreacting she drove me to school and yelled at me about how im selfish and only think about yself. she has it sooo hard needing to make food for me and being worried for me blah blah blah. i cant deal with her anymore dude.

she dosnt get that its not about the fucking yogurt, its about me taking so fucking long to develop any sence of trust with foood that isnt made by me just for her to throw all of thatout the window over like 100 calories. she puts more worth in 100 calories than me trusting the food i should eat. she has done this shit before too, she used to put boost into my smoothies and i obv caught her on that shit but i was trying to understand where she was coming from, i regretted it alot cus it was a perfect reason to restrict but i missed that oppurtunity but thats a whole other thing. even after seeing how much that shit effects me she has the audacity to pull that shit again once ive finally been able to have those smoothies again (i have a hart time trusting foods that i ant see the ingredients to) and think that ill be fine with it. like i dont care about the stupid yogurt but i do care that i told her where she fucked up, told her how to do better, and she said she will change just to go back to her old ways tht pisses me off. she does this all the time and this is just an example of when she did this, im so annoyed because she holds any istake i make or lie i tell over my head when she is the reason im lying. if she was supportive and understansinf thsen i wouldnt need to lie.

she brings up all the issues she has but she dosnt get that its not my job to help her, anything i do to help is extra but it is her job to help me so its completely different. i do try to help her or at least i used to try to but it wasnt enough for her so i dont even see the point in trying anymore.

there is no point in tryig to correct her because she just goes back to her old ways after like a month. istg she is so unmotivating and it makes me not even want to try and improve. i cant wait to be 18 so i can run away
