So in celebration have some Flora/Wally headcanons

Flora holds him like a teddy bear. She carries him around and holds him up like a kitty

Whenever he falls, she’s quick to pick him up so he doesn’t lay there for hours

Flora steals apples from Howdy’s store under her hat and gets away with it cause Daisey distracts him with conversation. She never even eats the apples, she just gives them to Wally

Flora is uncomfortable around Home, but she tolerates it for Wally’s sake. Cause that’s literally his house. She kinda has to be around Home to be around Wally most of the time

Besides Julie, Wally’s the only other person to see Flora with horns. He proceeds to paint her with them every time he paints her and she can’t even complain cause she finds it adorable

Unrelated but I’m changing Honey’s lore, he’s now Aunt Toodaloo’s son for no reason other than it fits. He is now the sassy shitty cousin who shit talks everyone

I imagine on a beach episode that the two of them either sit on floaties in the water, sit in the shade and stare at everyone’s shenanigans, or they make sandcastles together

Wally tried to braid Flora’s hair once, but he ended up tangling it really bad so she has to cut a giant knot out of her hair. Luckily her hair is super dark and thick so it wasn’t noticeable, but he didn’t braid it after that

I think Flora gets sad in secret really often, so she just hugs him like a teddy bear. He comforts her

He doesn’t find her scary. Even when she’s trying to scare people, he won’t find her scary. He just thinks “Miss Flora @:)”

Hand size difference! Her hands a large (human sized) and cold, while his hands are small and warm. They hold hands often, it calms them down

He’s seen her whole demon/ink spirit form before, it just reminds him of Home and So Below so he isn’t creeped out

Both self aware, but while Wally’s silent about it with the neighbors, Flora is constantly making jabs and mentions to it that no one notices besides Eddie and Wally/Home

Daisey notices too but they get taken apart and rebuilt without any memories of being self aware, so they never remember

She can give herself fangs, so he paints them sometimes and everyone corrects him that she doesn’t have fangs. But she does and he paints them :)

She doesn’t sleep and he can’t sleep properly, so they have sleepovers where they don’t sleep and just paint the whole night

Unrelated also but I’m experimenting with ads and products that can be advertised with my ocs. Specifically Daisey with “cheery pills”, which are actually antidepressants that are being advertised to the adult parents watching. I think it helps with the implications that Daisey uses them and how it seems innocent but the problem and reason why they use them is deeper than it’s portrayed. I think it’s a neat idea :3

She has a couple other outfits she only ever wears to hang out with either Daisey or Wally (and sometimes Barnaby), and they’re either what a cartoon teacher would wear, or just matching outfits cause why not

Matching hair clips are a need, they have like 30

She’s not the best artist, but she tries for him

Hi! Sorry it's taken me a while to answer this.

It sounds like you're describing Bottom, the '90s sitcom where Rik and Ade played two broadly middle aged bastards at the bottom (get it?) of society, loafing about, being pervy, and causing chaos. It isn't quite as surreal as The Young Ones, but it does feature lots of slapstick violence - Richie and Eddie have at least one very creative physical fight per episode - and there are occasions where something extra mad will happen, like the ceiling caving in, underpants being filled with custard, and fire farts (to name a few examples). Christopher Ryan also appears in a few episodes as one of Eddie's mates, Dave Hedgehog.

One of the original inspirations for Bottom was Samuel Beckett's Waiting for Godot, which Rik and Ade both loved and thought was funny. It was one of the things they bonded over at uni, and the two of them got to star in a run of it in the early '90s (again, with Christopher Ryan).

There were three series of Bottom from 1991-1995, totalling at 18 episodes. All episodes were available on Dailymotion the last time I checked - in fact, I have a post somewhere on this blog with links to them, though it may very well be outdated by now. If you have a mooch around online, you should be able to find them.

The reason I'm guessing you mean Bottom is because Richie Richard and Eddie Hitler live together in a (disgusting) flat in Hammersmith, and there are some episodes set entirely within this horrid hovel. However, Filthy, Rich and Catflap also sees Richie Rich and Eddie Catflap sharing a (not quite as disgusting) flat, but these characters were a bit younger - and, to be honest, Bottom is the more highly regarded of the two sitcoms, though I don't think FR&C is anywhere near as bad as some critics made out.

Rik and Ade made five live stage shows for Bottom (Bottom Live) between 1993-2003. In fact, the fifth Bottom Live was the last substantial work they did together. All five of these have been available on YouTube for some years, so I assume they still are. I personally just slightly prefer the sitcom (or maybe I'm just jealous I can't go and see Bottom Live 😂), and I think a general rule of thumb is the quality does decline a little across the five (apologies to my comedy gods, although I think Ade might agree with me), but they are all absolutely worth a watch. Rik and Ade break character in them from time to time, and they're allowed to say fuck.

They also made a Bottom film in 1999 called Guest House Paradiso, which features Simon Pegg. Rik and Ade play the same characters, but now they run an appalling hotel on the Isle of Wight and their surnames are different (which Ade acknowledged when I went to see him touring with his autobiography was inexplicable). The film is not for the weak of stomach, certainly not for anyone with emetophobia, and unfortunately it does suffer from the curse of most sitcom movies apart from Alan Partridge: Alpha Papa in that it doesn't quite translate. To be fair, they didn't have a massive budget, and it happened only a year after Rik's accident (they were both meant to direct it, but Ade took on full directing duties as a result of this). Still, it's not unfunny, and I think it's available on Dailymotion; if you like Bottom, you should give it a watch. I wonder what a Bottom film set in the original world of the sitcom would've been like...

Carol Ferris - I used to talk about her 24/7 when I was heavy in my GL phase, but I never stopped loving her. I love that she’s deeply flawed and angry and passionate, and she gets to be messy. Also she influenced me to be more comfortable expressing myself femininely which was hard as a brown girl ngl anyways carol <333

Ollie Queen - LMAO idk why but I feel so cliche putting him, but he’s my favorite Arrow and he always has been. I relate to him a lot. He’s really introverted, in his own head despite being is outspoken, he loves nature, cares deeply, and he isolates when he’s sad. Khalid Nassour - it’s hell being his fan, but i’ll do it anyways 😭 so Khalid is rlly interesting bc i read his “cool” appearances first then read Dr Fate 2015 where he was more of an annoying 22 yr old. And it was so satisfying watching him grow from someone who was more narrow-minded and whitewashed to an intelligent, capable, and enlightened person. I really enjoy his character’s spin on what fate means in regards to one’s identity, heritage, lifestyle, and faith.

Day of Vengeance - this is the one currently living rent free in my head rn bc it’s so FUNNY and random, but also a really interesting storyline in regards to magic in the DCU. It’s just so enjoyable watching this group of mystics handle the hugest threat ever and barely get along, and they’re all weird, and then Lori joins and she’s like the group teenager and it’s so funny

We Are Robin - I honestly wish it was longer ngl but I really wanted to see more of the group together and their stories, especially Izzy and Dre. The premise and duration of this story is SO dear to me bc ofc Duke, but also I love watching kids band together against authorities bc they love their city sm.

Batman: Son of the Demon - as a Talia and sometimes Brutalia fan, how can I not 😭 It’s so sad and actually heartwrenching how happiness was so close to them but taken away, and how much Bruce and Talia sacrificed for each other because they are both loving people, they just love in the wrong way

Green Arrow: The Longbow Hunters - perfect Ollie. Perfect depiction of his mind. Really good storytelling. SHADOOOOO she served cunt and dc didn’t like that so they ruined her. Green Lantern: Blackest Night - OKAY THIS IS THE ONE I WAS AFRAID OF SHARING 😭 I’m SORRY i love this for so many reasons, nostalgia mostly bc I re-read it over and over again at the peak of my hal obsession era idk why, I like the giant white entity, I like when all the Corps leaders have to team up and they’re all side-eyeing each other sm, and I also love when random heroes get involved and help save the day like Mera, Ray, Barry, Diana, Grant, watching them all try to survive it while battling grief in front of them. It always makes me laugh how they instructed the actors playing the wrestlers to finish the scene fighting like that, one catching the other from behind, and both making sus movements 😭

FR the evidence from extras is probably my favorite.

Because if you think about it, these people are being instructed to do things so specifically for the shot to work. Sometimes it's just one or two shots, which means that they were most definitely given very specific direction. And even in cases where they're appearing in the background in multiple shots, it's clear their presence has this consistency to it, almost like the director was very much taking note of them specifically among the others who are more haphazard, making a point to stay to follow continuity to a T alongside the main cast.

Like the two boys in the background at Rink O Mania who look like they're on a date, becoming visible the second El leaves and it's just Mike and Will? Classic! Or the boy and girl that Mike sits between at lunch in Hawkins, with the girl behind him in the scarf (El during Mike's monologue) and the boy beside Mike to his right (Will during Mike's monologue), all while listening to a conversation about forced conformity and how it's kills the kids?? Or let's not forget the iconic 'I love contact sports' shirt guy or the blue and yellow fit bro at Rink-O-Mania (that extra shows up for more shots than other extra, including the first shot outside of Rink-O-Mania when they pull up!).

The wrestling scene is so on the nose though, it's actually hilarious! I remember that was like the moment a friend of mine accepted byler as happening. Basically we had watched Game Over, Man on Netflix and we were talking about the gay subtext in it with Blake's character and how obvious it was. This predictably led me on a tangent about ST and how Mike is queer based on a lot of subtext and I told her I could convince her with 4x01 alone. So she accepted the challenge and it was hilarious. The closet at the start had her side eyeing, same with the posters in Mike's room. Then Mike staring at Eddie all awestruck had her geeking out and she was actually starting to consider. Then the wrestling scene popped up and she was pretty much convinced to the point of needing a moment of silence lmao

Like it really is that easy to pick up on if you are open to it and also open to having it be pointed out to you. And yet, it's also so subtle that it's easy to overlook it all in that first viewing, especially when you're focused on like 10 storylines at once.

I will say I am impressed with how they have managed to make it so subtle yet so obvious at the same time. It's going to make endgame that much more hilariously epic.
