With Malice Toward None: a Musical of Abraham Lincoln and the Civil War. I’ve been developing this musical since summer 2020. With Malice Toward None focuses on exploring the mental health struggles that Lincoln experienced during his presidency. The musical is narrated by Robert Todd Lincoln, who recalls the storyline’s events with complete omniscience while at the 1922 Lincoln Memorial dedication. Relevant themes for the show include mental health, public history, teams that become brotherhoods, compassion, the stages of grief, leadership, and a bunch of other concepts that I’ll probably end up yapping about on here at some point. Orchestrally, the show can be described as “if Les Misérables, Hello Dolly, and Evita decided to have a threesome in my brain”.

I’m a Prequels girlie and Jedi apologist to my CORE; my favorite characters are probably Yoda, Dooku, Mace Windu, and Bail Organa.

Things I think should happen in season 3/future episodes of ghosts
To distract me from the strike delays
Hetty & Sasappis death reveal!! How’d they die? Hetty’s clothes imply it was sudden & during the day, perhaps? Sass died not long after he was going to be a storyteller. There’s so much potential here
In relation to the first one, Pete, Hetty, and Sasappis’s ghost powers! I’m so curious about this one

Champa Arondekar appearance. She’s been mentioned too many times for her to not show up. Her relationship with Jay vs Sam could be such an interesting plot, too
Mark Hamill cameo, guest character, anything. He loves the show and he would be right at home in it. Also, Jay, Pete, and Trevor would probably lose their minds
Lin-Manuel should show up. There are so many layers to this. Utkarsh knows him personally. The Hamilton factor. He could be himself, or a guy that’s really into the revolution and heard about Isaac’s book. Just…I would lose it if this happened
Hetty & Nigel should have a friendship arc, I think. Yes, it’s funny that they hate each other, but it would be so cool if that rivalry slowly turned into them being friends! They can bond over tea and oppressing the Irish :)

this is the one i've been waiting for. one thing about me is that i will listen to hurricane on repeat. all day. it's one of the best songs from hamilton (in my top three next to my shot & yorktown). this song cures depression. this song is like oxygen. this is the only song ever. & if you disagree, you are simply just wrong. i am hurricane stan first, human second. if hurricane has no fans, it means i'm dead. ok, let's get to the point:
when i was seventeen a hurricane destroyed my town, i didn't drown, i couldn't seem to die - the i couldn't seem to die always breaks my heart... it's also super personal to me for reasons i don't really want to explain here.

Hamilton Manila 2023!
As a musical theatre girlie who lives far away from the capital city, it's a bit hard to catch artists and musicals when they tour in my country. It can also be quite expensive since I have to pay for my flight and book Airbnbs. But when Lin-Manuel Miranda announced that Hamilton would have its Asian premiere in the Philippines early this year, I promised myself I would not throw away my shot.
I first discovered this musical in the summer of 2016, probably a month before it garnered big awards — including Best Musical! — at the Tonys. Having only heard of Breathe from LMM's other show, In The Heights, back then, I was surprised to hear rap and hip-hop in a Broadway musical. Nevertheless, I was hooked! Every song was catchy, and the lyrics were smart and informative. Satisfied and Helpless became my favorite songs, with It's Quiet Uptown making me cry whenever I hear the four words: "Forgiveness, can you imagine?"
After watching The Phantom of the Opera back in March 2019, I was so excited to go back to Solaire and watch another musical. This time, I was able to enjoy my second theatre experience with my college friends. It seems very fitting that I get to share this moment with them. Back in college, we used to sing songs from Hamilton during breaks and enact the dance from The Schuyler Sisters. We even made a parody of the song Alexander Hamilton when making a presentation about Confucius for our Asian Civilization class!
While Solaire didn't have many different backdrops for photo ops for Hamilton like they did for POTO, my friends and I were still able to take cute pictures!

As a partnership with UnionBank, they also offer free holographic souvenir cards for the first 140 people (150 on the weekends, iirc), so coming to the theatre four hours earlier is definitely worth it! Here's my card with my friends:

My friends and I also enjoyed complimentary drinks from Solaire since it was our first time signing up for Solaire Rewards. Don't throw away your shot for free drinks!
Okay, now for the show itself! Although most of my friends were hoping to watch the show in the orchestra seats, we ended up on the balcony. After a while, I realized that Hamilton is certainly best viewed on the balcony since we're able to see the rotating stage more clearly, as well as the incredible choreography and lighting design.

Like most Filipinos, I was hoping to see Rachelle Ann Go as Eliza. "Pinoy Pride" is something of a cheesy inside joke in our country, but hell, I'm so happy to see Rachelle thriving in West End productions, from Les Misérables to Hamilton. Seeing her portray Eliza live was one for the books. She was playful and giddy in Helpless, but she completely broke everyone's heart during Burn. And not to mention, her voice! Her singing highlights include Burn and the last part of Who Lives, Who Dies, Who Tells Your Story. She also shared wonderful chemistry with Callan Purcell, who played Hamilton in this production.
I was so looking forward to seeing Jason Arrow as Hamilton, but I still liked Callan's performance, even if his interpretation was completely different from other Hamiltons I've seen in slime tutorials. I especially liked him the best in Act 1. His "mature" Hamilton may not be that convincing at times in Act 2, but his energy was so infectious as the "ambitious" young Hamilton in the first half.
Another surprise was Kirrah Amosa's Angelica. I've read some comments in the Pinoy Hamilton FB group about her "lacking" portrayal of Angelica, but you know what? I thought she was great! Yes, she's giving more of an "empathetic Eliza" energy instead of the "fierce Angelica" we usually see, but that's what made her performance of Satisfied even more impactful to me. As for the third Schuyler sister, Peggy/Maria Reynolds, Elandrah Eramiha has a honey-like voice, which she completely showed off during Say No To This.
As a Burr apologist, I'm torn with Winston Hillyer's portrayal of Burr. Eliza's my overall favorite character in the show, but for me, Burr is the most relatable and grounded. I wasn't completely disappointed with his performance, but I just didn't think his character was able to "grow" in the second half. He has a very wonderful, crystal-clear voice, though!
Darnell Abraham as George Washington was also a main highlight of the show! Maybe it's because of his rich baritone voice, but I loved his father-son relationship with Callan. His Washington was thoughtful and deeply caring. (And dare I say I like him more than Chris Jackson from the OBC?)
Brent Hill was hilarious as King George, but I can't help comparing his performance with Jonathan Groff's. They both have brilliant comedic timing, but Jonathan's a much more menacing King George, whereas Brent is sassier and maybe even crazier!
Meanwhile, Hamilton's comrades: Marcus John and Trey Curtis, who played Lafayette/Jefferson and Mulligan/Madison respectively, also had so much chemistry with each other and stole the show so many times! Marcus reminded me so much of Daveed Diggs' little quirks in the show, but he was still great in his own way. I've read somewhere that Trey is also a standby for Hamilton and that he's amazing. Sigh... What I'd do to watch the show again and catch him as Hamilton! Julian Kuo was also very sweet as Laurens/Philip Hamilton, which made his death scenes twice as heartbreaking as usual.
Overall, I'm very much satisfied with this Hamilton cast!

Of course, Hamilton will not be complete without merch! Just like last time, I bought a boat tote bag because, like other Gen-Z kids, I'm obsessed with tote bags. We just can't help it! I also bought a lapel pin, so I can pin it to my other tote bags. I initially wanted to buy the button pin set, but unfortunately, it was sold out. I'm still pretty happy with my purchases, though!

Four days later, I'm back at home, and I still have post-show blues. I just listen to the OBC recording and the mixtape to keep me company. Maybe I'll rewatch the Disney+ pro-shot again!
Watching Hamilton was a dream come true and an experience I'll never forget anytime soon. I can't wait to watch my next musical again!

I think the reason I dislike Hamilton so much (besides the glorification of literal slave owners) is because at is core Hamilton is a musical about The American Dream.
I find everything about The American Dream (and yes I'll capitalize it) fascinating. Maybe because being from a developing country I grew up being groomed to maybe have a change at either imigrating and following The American Dream myself or getting close enough to it that my kids would finally be the ones to bring my family to the U.S (and I wasn't the only one) or because I have a cousin that lost it all trying to immigrate and was barred at the border for no real reason and is back here with no money and a bad job because he put all his cards on The American Dream. Or maybe because U.S media is deeply popular for south american kids and we wach more your movies and read your books than our owns. Either way I grew up with the idea that I was unlucky to be born here and if I had just being born in the US. Only to find out that this wasn't true. People on the US were just as unlucky.
And if it hurt me to discover that all the promisses and pressure I got were empty at least it was before I tried to emigrate and follow it. What about all the people who crossed the board and didn't make it? Yes there were succes stories, but still. And what about the kids who were born there? Who were raised to believe they lived in the best country in the wolrd and hard work always meant success only to realize that this isn't the case? Do they blame themselfs? Do they think they just didn't fight hard enough? Do they feel angry?
Lin Manuel Miranda's pro-imigration musical, his masterpiece, is about how the U.S was funded by great people and how it is the job of today american's to remember them and follow their legacy. Is that all the failings on the country aren't systemical problems. It's people forgetting. Forgetting the founding fathers were immigrants, forgetting how liberal and charitable and great they are.
Hamiltom says the American dream is there. That people just need to remember their roots and take it. In the wolrd of Hamilton the system isn't bad au contrary it is good and it was made by great people (yeah, sure) is just that the people defending the system now days are bad and don't understand the REAL system (and that's why the musical conveniently forgets that the founding fathers were slave owners). The final song in Hamilton, "Who lives, who dies, who tells your story", is hopefull. It acts as if remembering the founding fathers for their supposedly progressiviness (Jefferson being complimented for having a good economical system instead of rightfully called out for being an awfull person, the only mention of slavery being when Elisa says she fought against it and that Hamilton would have been proud - would he?) and following their legacy is all one needs to achieve the perfect country. And that's bullshit.
I may not be american but even if the founding fathers were this great people the musical is portraying (and they sure as hell weren't) that would have been bullshit. What makes or breaks a country is more than their legacy, is their systems, is how they were build.
My country has a legacy of real insurgencies being destroyed so moderate conservatives can give us them in lighter shades and pet their backs for how good they are, how much they care for the people they see as lesser. Our independecy was buyed and our republic was negotiated. And people fought before that. But the people who fought wanted to much. They wanted a republic, they wanted the end of slavery, they wanted to compensate the slaves and not the slave owners. So they were silenced. The only insuressionist that got a holiday is the one for the tamest of the failed insurections. The first time the people's will trully mattered was when we took out the dictartoship. Our new republic for all it's multiple failures is the closest to a real people's legacy. So maybe the mensage of Hamilton apply better to us. But if our only good legacy is too fight against the system than how would it work when in Hamilton the system IS the legacy?
I have no answers or solutions. I barerly know what this post is. I just was listening to "Everbody's Got the Right" from Asassins on Spotify and when it ended Spotify went automatically to "Who Lives Who Dies Who Tells Your Story" and listening them side by side gave me a terrible whiplash.

In this scene, Macbeth is told of his wife's death, responding with this short speech on how life is meaningless and nothing really matters. This is one of the most famous speeches from Shakespeare's works.
This is an interesting response on Macbeth's part, as he previously showed a great love for his wife and one would expect him to show some more emotion toward her death. However, as he has lost his love, his power, and nothing seems to be pointing to a happy ending for him, I can see how he might descend into numbness and apathy. His pessimism and claim that nothing matters can act as his explanation or justification for his actions, as his deeds that might be considered evil or corrupt actually "signify nothing," which is a good theory to live by if you're a villain.
Honestly, I don't blame him for his switch to "everything sucks and nothing matters" because if my badass wife died, I would also lose all hope. Not to mention I'm about to be beaten by men dressed as trees and lose my throne (that I stole in the first place, but that's besides the point). And I can't read this speech without thinking of Hamilton, so thanks Lin Manuel Miranda. Also, this gif is basically Macbeth in this moment.

I was thinking about the last prompt of keeptober Halloween and I was curious what you think each of the councilors would dress up as if team valient got to pick their costumes?
I'm so sorry the first thing that came to mind was the whole underground catboy society thing from a while ago and all I could think was catboy Bronte.
That being said, this ended up more me assigning them costumes based on the most minor details we have about them because so many of them are like never mentioned except for their name so. There's that (several of them also stumped me for a while, so they're not excellent answers, but oh well)
Alina: The fairy godmother from Shrek. They convince her she's glamorous while all the time knowing about her evil side.
Bronte: Oscar the grouch from sesame street. Grumpy and a great excuse to put him (lovingly) in a trash can
Clarette: Doesn't care about Halloween so only agreed to wear an animal-themed costumed. She is now an arthropleura (the thing that stabbed Fitz) because comedy
Darek: Would a ghost be too cliche? Because he's a phaser, so I can see that connection. But also Darek isn't too nice so he can be one of the despicable, unliked ghosts. that or a north pole elf
Emery: Scene kid. I don't. I don't know why. but he's got the thickest eyeliner you've ever seen and keeps saying no one understands him as he blasts his music to tune out the voices in his head
Liora: Listen she's got a whole ocean-theme thing going on I keep seeing her and thinking Moana.
Noland: Lin Manuel Miranda's Alexander Hamilton...listen okay this is entirely because of the ponytail I'm sorry.
Oralie: Sophie once described her as a fairy princess or something similar, so I can 100% see fairy.
Ramira: There is so little info about her but her aesthetic reminds me of those sun elves from tdp? looked it up they're called sunfire elves and the outfits are matching in color so! also both elves, might be fun to dress her up as an elf because she's also an elf :)
Terik: Wizard! Completely inspired by his cane, which made me think of a staff. And with being the only descryer, the rarity of his ability and of wizards could match!
Velia: Because she likes maps I keep thinking of Milo from Atlantis, but I don't know if she'd ever agree to something like that. But my mind is stuck on it so I can't think of anything else

Recap of Paris trip!
(warning, long post a coming! May or may not contain multiple pictures lol! Apologies to my followers who may not care about the Back to the Musical World convention!) 
Alright! Well I’m back home in the US feeling more than slightly horrible because as luck would have it, of course I caught a cold. Thank Gods my job still does WFH and I’m off all next week for Thanksgiving but anyway, you all probably don’t want to hear me vent about that lol! 
Paris Trip recap time! 
Thursday: Thursday was my main travel to Paris day so mainly spent most of my time in the air. Got some nice shots of clouds, the country side and an attempted sunrise photo though lol

Friday: Finally arrived in Paris! Made the mistake of thinking I could walk to the convention center and got very much lost in Paris. Got some nice photos though (and eventually caught a cab to the convention center--Ginny, remember for next year: Uber is your friend). My hotel room was pretty nice too! :D

Saturday: Day one of the convention! I can’t tell you how much I wanted that rose that they were offering in the raffle but I had to fly home and something told me it wouldn’t end well. The Descendants fan in me loved the purple and green chairs (Mal’s colors!) and all the guests were super nice! Owen commented on the ring I had on my necklace (it was my HS class ring but it stopped fitting comfortably so I just found a necklace chain that didn’t have anything on it and converted it to a necklace) :D Vanessa was the sweetest person, smiling and just looking happy to be there even though rumor has it she wasn’t feeling well (Vanessa, if you gave me this cold...wait, actually I’d be okay with that lol). I told Sacha I liked his rings and he said he wanted to get another one while he was in Paris! And of course I had to get a photo with Sunset Curve and we did the apology pose from JATP! Jeremy even sang the first part! 
And yeah, I’ve said it before but I’ll say it again: Brenna liked my shirt! It might seem like a small thing but I’ve never really had...’fashion’ sense before. More like I wore what I liked as a kid and drove my mom mad. Most of the fights I had as a teenager were over clothes because she wanted me to wear more fashionable stuff. But now...an actress from one of my favorite franchises liked my shirt! Teenage me would be jumping for joy! When I told Brenna I got it from Amazon, her eyes got wide and she just gasped and said ‘Oh my God, I love them!’ and of course I told Brenna how much I loved her jacket too (and then Mitchell said that he liked it as well lol) 
Oh Gods Mitchell...that man is Ben. Full stop! In the meet and greet, he started going on about how much he loved Hamilton and how he’d seen it when it was in Australia and he was singing the lyrics under his breath and getting dirty looks from the people around him lol! Of course we then teased him about having him go teach the cast the choreography for Did I Mention and he said ‘don’t even tempt me, I’d love to do a Descendants/Hamilton crossover’. I jokingly said that the Revolution would have been over quicker if one of our men could turn into a dragon and Mitchell said ‘oh yeah, they’d (the British) be like ‘okay that one turned into a dragon and that one turned into a beast and that one’s casting spells...let’s just go home’. To which then we suggested Kenny could direct that and that’s when Mitchell went into a story of when Kenny got his star on the walk of fame and Lin Manuel Miranda sent Kenny a video message but Mitchell had Kenny’s phone because he was just trying to stay out of the way! 
Apparently Mitchell’s a huge LMM fan so he was pretty much just star struck and then Kenny asked who was on the phone so Mitchell showed him. To which Kenny said that LMM was an old friend! 
We had a group photo after the fact (taken by the translator in the room so I don’t have it but hopefully they’ll post those photos soon) but I didn’t realize that Mitchell had his hands on my shoulders for the photo until after the fact! The fact that I didn’t melt into a pile of goo is something to be proud of! 
After that, I went down to get Vanessa’s autograph (mainly because her queue wasn’t crazy long) and then it was lunch break. Dream It Con, as nice as it is that you provide lunch for the guests, how about at least selling water for the people attending?! Especially when there’re people not from Paris who’d like to not get lost in the city!
After lunch was when things started to get off the rails a little--I still had fun though but disorganization annoys the hell out of me. If you have a schedule, stick to it (though in fairness apparently Mitchell and Charlie were holding everyone up with autographs and photos and knocking everyone off schedule). But I did the board games with the Descendants cast and it was basically just a 30 minute game of Jenga but the cast just...there was no divide you know? Like how some actors seem friendly but you can still tell that they’re famous and they know it? Brenna, Dan (Beast), and Mitchell had none of that! It was like playing Jenga with family members! 
I remember when it was my turn to go up and I had seen this piece that was just sticking out and Mitchell was telling me to go for another piece and I was just like ‘nope, I want this one’ and went straight for it! Of course at first the tower wobbled but I inched it out and Dan said that he’d never seen anyone take a Jenga piece out with such care! 
After that, I had the aforementioned photoshoot with Mitchell and Brenna and then I had to rush over to my meet and greet with Dan (who remembered I was from the US from the Descendants panel that morning!) He was great and he shared a lot of memories of Cameron that I had to work to not cry right then and there. 
And then came the dance class (I’d missed my meet and greet with Vanessa and Jeremy and my Kenny/Vanessa photo because of the disorganization (boo) but you know, can’t have everything). Corbin was the one leading it with Kenny and Lucas helping and Bart just being a goof ball, and I think I spent the entire time hoping I wouldn’t trip over my own feet. Especially after Brenna and Jeremy joined in! 
I left to get ready for the party after that but came back to see Mitchell and Charlie still signing autographs before they too got ready for the party. And look I’m tiny so parties with lots of people? Not exactly my comfort zone. But Bart (Coach Bolton) was literally the life of the party and whenever an HSM song came on, he was jumping around and just acted like a kid! It was easy to forget my trepidation of being around so many people (seriously, under 5′0″ and in a room with a lot of people? My first thought is how do I avoid being crushed?)

Sunday: Day Two of the convention and honestly my focus was pretty much autographs...and one on ones and meet and greets...and catching my breath because I’d overslept and almost arrived late. Thankfully I got there just as the opening ceremonies were happening! I did get some pics though! 
Oh yeah and Charlie started the convention off with his antics that had me almost dying with laughter. If anyone temporarily lost their hearing or dogs started barking, my bad! 
I stayed for the HSM panel--and it became totally worth it when I found out Drew Seeley had been the role for Prince Eric on Broadway after HSM! Yeah I honestly don’t remember much from the rest of the panel, my mind just latched on that. 
For my Brenna one on one, as soon as I stepped through the door, she saw me and went ‘Virginia!’ since Dan had asked me where I was from in the Descendants panel the previous day (side note, every one of them seemed shocked by my answer--people, I came mainly for the Descendants stuff, doesn’t matter how long the flight or the cost!). We talked a lot about Descendants and she’d asked me how I got into it to which I told her about working at Disney World and how the DVD player kept playing Descendants and just sucked me in. I told her how much I’d related to Jane in the first movie, both of us being kinda timid at first in HS and then I joked that you know Jane got the glow up with cheerleading and I had stayed the nerd who wrote fanfiction and Brenna told me that Jane’s growth really came from loving herself and finding what she was good at, like planning Cotillion. And after the one on one she told me that she had been shocked when I said I got into Descendants at 21/22 because she thought I was 21/22. When I told her my real age, she just went ‘you take really good care of yourself!’ 
Brenna, I’m short with a baby face. Trust me, you can say it. At least you were more tactful than the passport guy who thought I was 16 when I was 21 and brought his colleague over to see me as well...wait what was I talking about? Oh right the convention lol! 
The one on one with Jeremy was really a one on two because his wife was there too! They are the nicest people ever (and I know I keep repeating myself there but it’s true!) Jeremy asked where I was from (since he obviously wasn’t in the Descendants panel) and after I told him, he asked if I came with anyone to which I said no because I hadn’t. Again cue the shocked reactions but they were really sweet! We all commiserated on the stupidity of Netflix and I wish I’d had a chance to tell Jeremy how much I liked his song Ghosted but stupid brain thought of that today. However his jacket is as soft as it looks! 
But on that note, when I had my photo with the JATP group (so Sunset Curve plus Madison), Jeremy immediately went ‘hey [insert my name here]!’ with the biggest smile on his face and Owen started chanting Bill Nye the Science Guy (I was wearing a Bills jersey and I almost burst out laughing at that which was a lot better than my reaction in my Charlie/Owen photo which was just...silence. Sorry Owen! I would have talked to you more about the Bills but there was a long line for the photo and my awkward self really didn’t want to take up people’s time). 
I had a meet and greet with Charlie and he kept jumping from topic to topic, it was honestly the funniest thing! Oh, so we were right next to the singing class with Lucas and Drew but Charlie didn’t know that so when we heard someone singing next door, he said ‘we should sing back. What should we sing?’ and I said ‘Edge of Great!’ and Charlie said ‘Great!...how does it go?’ so a room of 30 or so people started singing Edge of Great and then Charlie opened the door to the other room and we saw it was the singing class. 
Whoops! 
But between talking about his antics that morning and almost getting into a singing war with Lucas and Drew, Charlie talked about this project he was working on in Ecuador to help prevent turtles, dolphins, and sharks from getting stuck in fishermen’s nets while at the same time not ruining the economy of the villages who relied on fishing for food. Apparently LED lights have been helping the turtles/dolphins/sharks see the nets (especially in the dark) and they then swim away. There’s going to be a documentary on it soon (but of course I can’t remember the date that it’s coming out.) 
I also had a meet and greet with Madison that, due to the disorganization that struck again, ended up being at the same time as Kenny’s meet and greet. But they gave me extra time for my one on one with Kenny so that was all good. 
Can I tell you what we talked about in the Madison meet and greet? Nope cause out of everything, that’s the one thing my mind went poof you don’t need this anymore! 
In the Kenny one on one, I didn’t think it was possible to fit everything we talked about in nine minutes but we did! I got an answer about Ben’s suits, Kenny seemed surprised that I knew China McClain was going to reprising her role as Uma for D4 (apparently he didn’t know they’d announced it) and was also surprised that Chad was going to get a sister in D4 to which he theorized that she had been in boarding school during the events of the first three movies. I also learned that Kenny had not been involved in the Royal Wedding special because he seemed unsure if it had even happened. And then he asked me my thoughts on it when I confirmed it had. 
Kenny...don’t do that to me. I had to be as tactful as possible and purposefully didn’t mention the part we do not speak of (the bracelet scene where they talk about Carlos) cause I’m not breaking that news to Kenny freaking Ortega if he didn’t know about it! 
But speaking of movie sequels of projects Kenny had been involved with...let’s just say Hocus Pocus 2 is not going to be on Kenny Ortega’s recommended list any time soon. He wouldn’t say anything more because I hadn’t seen it and he didn’t want to spoil it for me. 
However, on a lighter note, he did share the story of how they cast Mitchell as Ben! 
And then came the one on one I was looking forward to the most-Mitchell! First thing the man does is bring me in for a hug (yeah I’m still trying to make sure that wasn’t a dream). And then, after we sat back down, he started talking about the question I’d asked the other day at the Descendants panel; telling me it was one of the best questions he’d ever heard at a Descendants panel before and he’d studied theater so when he heard me mention ‘Chekov’ he had perked up and had leaned over to Kenny to explain before telling him ‘just say yes’ lol. And then he asked me to go into my question and I explained that I was trying to see if Mal’s line had been foreshadowing since plot had established the confrontation with the pirates was twelve noon. And Mitchell said that since music and script were two separate entities, Kenny might not have been able to answer if he wanted to! And he said that apparently he’d said the same thing to some of the lyricists but about something else in the movies and he wanted to know how they came up with that foreshadowing before saying ‘...you actually didn’t mean to do that did you?’ to which the lyricist said ‘yeah we did’ but they didn’t! 
Accidental foreshadowing for the win! 
The last major thing was the Kenny Trivia with some of the actors (Mitchell and Charlie and Madison couldn’t make it because they were finishing up autographs/photos so it was with Corbin, Drew, Brenna, and Lucas). I was the only one on Lucas’ team but when Lucas pointed out that he only had one person on his team when everyone else had two, Kenny told him he was in good hands with me cause I was smart! 
Yeah okay Kenny, that explains why Lucas was the one to get us our first point lol. But I redeemed myself by being able to list 10 Descendants songs and six projects Kenny had directed. My team was tied with Corbin’s team and we would have won too had I not jumped the gun and answered HSM for the question of ‘What was the first Disney movie Kenny directed?’ 
It’s Newsies, I knew it was Newsies but you know Disney...Disney Channel...and Lucas said the same thing when I apologized for the loss. And then Corbin’s team teased him about being a sore loser and he said that he was trying to make me feel better lol. 
The only prize was joy so at least I didn’t miss out on anything...other than joy! 
After closing ceremonies, I was able to get Mitchell and Charlie’s autograph! I missed out on Owen and Lucas but you know what? 12 out of 14 autographs isn’t anything to sneeze at! I missed out on Owen’s autograph because of the queue for Mitchell’s was so long that by the time we moved, Owen had left). It was about 10 pm by the time I left the convention center!

I know you might just say to get off your dash since I’m disagreeing but the hate towards LMM seems a little much. He’s a great actor and the fact that he does so much scene/songwriting bts shows that he is serious about his roles. I just wish people could start being more positive or keeping negative opinions as meaningless as an actor’s role in a tv show to yourself instead of blasting someone on social media.
you’re welcome to be happy about Lin being casted, the same way i’m welcome to be unhappy about it. i find him cringey and irritating and i don’t think he’s a good fit for hermes, and that’s my opinion. we don’t have to have the same ones. also after he was announced as hermes, it was brought to my attention that he’s been racist and colorist but i can’t find the tweets i saw yesterday with the proof. i still feel like it’s worth mentioning but i know it doesn’t do much without any proof so do with that what you will.
also, respectfully, i’m not a very positive person and im not about to start because other people are happy that annoying broadway hamilton is playing a god in a show i’ve been waiting for since i was 10 and first read PJO. it’s my blog and i will be as negative as i would like and share whatever opinions i want, thank you🫶🏻 you don’t have to agree with me and you can simply unfollow or block me if you don’t want to see my opinions

Ultimate Playlist: Men’s Names, Aaron - Alexander
After creating a playlist of songs with women’s names, I had to do one with men’s names. The rules are the same.
The song must mention a man’s name in the title or lyrics.
The song must be one that I enjoy listening to. Fair warning: that immediately rules out most country, rap, opera, and heavy metal. Sorry.
My hypothesis was that there would be more songs about women, thinking that there have probably been more men writing love songs about women than vice versa. I was very wrong. tl;dr fame is weird
it's actually kind of crazy to think about how there's people that almost everyone around the world knows like
imagine if you tried to explain to someone a thousand years ago that there was this one "Taylor" or "Wilbur" or "Lin-Manuel" that just… internationally, cross-continentially, people know them. and they're not political figures (at least not by definition); they're not famous warriors, or royalty, or emperors-- nope, they're poets. bards. and not only their songs are internationally known, no, their personal lives too-- to varying degrees, of course, but to a point where some of their fans misguidedly feel as though they know them like a friend, because they've grown accustomed to hearing their voice day in day out in their own room, their own house, wherever they go--
like how is society that tilted that the overwhelming majority of people will go forgotten by all but their close friends, their passing acquaintances-- did you know that studies from four years ago show that the average person only makes 29 "real" friends in a lifetime, of which only 6 last? in 2003 there was a study that said you make 400 friends in a lifetime, but only a few close ones. regardless of what the accurate statistic is-- can you imagine that most people will be remembered by maybe 400 people, of which not even half will last a generation down? But there's this handful of celebrities, this select few-- it feels like a lot when you start listing them, but placed in contrast with the 8.1 BILLION PEOPLE currently on the earth? insane. a study from 2013 says 0.0086% of people are famous. LESS THAN ONE-TENTH OF A PERCENT! it's like the world's worst gambling machine, a fucked-up few raised on a pedestal so the rest of us can dream of lives we'll never attain because we were born at the wrong time or were too shy to grab a microphone or just missed an opportunity that one time. They will be remembered, at least for longer than a single generation, because they have a wikipedia page and an album or two to back them up. They are known on a first-name basis across thousands upon thousands of households, part of more inside jokes than they themselves could ever comprehend, mentioned more by strangers they'll never meet than some people will be named by their loved ones in a lifetime. We laugh at the cinematics and television fame of the Hunger Games, we act like we don't put people on spotlights in deathmatches. We act as though we wouldn't throw ourselves forwards as tribute if we were asked to be destroyed by a life of fame, and in fact some of us long for it. We thirst for the thrill of being recognized on the streets, not even realizing what kind of horrors these people undergo on a daily basis because they were Sherlock that one time. The twisted sides of the internet they have to avoid because humanity's most fucked up desires are now projected onto them, the chosen few, the "lucky" ones. We shout abuse at them for being human, for being tired, for making mistakes. We expect them to be perfect, even if many of them didn't ask for this life of fame. Sure, they may still want it-- because who wouldn't? It is the dream of contemporary man to be famous, and if you stop to think about it, it has always been. Hamilton destroyed himself for his legacy, Narcissis died of his own adoration, Nebuchadnezzar had a statue of himself erected so that all might bow to him. We long for recognition of the masses, and today's society makes it look so easy. Look at Ranboo, Tommy, Tubbo, Philza-- all streamers who skyrocketed out of seemingly nowhere, seemingly at random. Just "luck", right? Right place, right time, got in on a famous SMP and BOOM they're famous now, making more money than they'll ever need. You don't see the dedication they put into-- the work, the burnout, the endless grinding and years of nothing that precursored their fame. It makes it feel like you have a chance-- if they could do it, why shouldn't I be able to, right? If I keep trying, maybe I'll hit that same goldmine, right?
But it doesn't work like that, does it?
So we're left with our pipe dreams, our useless aspirations, that little kindling flame inside that believes we could rise above. We cherish it for the rest of our lives, ignoring the odds even when they're glaring at us like the sun. Because if we abandon our hope at fame, then, well, why bother trying at all? Because we're "doing what we love"? In this economy? Hah, nice try.
Yet somehow… maybe there's some merit to it. Maybe, if the odds are really that horrid, we should stop caring. We can keep hoping, sure-- so long as that hope brings us nothing but sweet longing, and none of the sour regret of missed chances and twisted desire. But maybe we shouldn't live on that hope alone, and maybe we should bring back some of that innocent warmth and kind enjoyment that those live laugh love signs are always going on about. Maybe, just maybe, our goal should be our own happiness, not an endless investment in a future that will probably never come. Maybe we shouldn't sacrifice now for tomorrow, every day over again, in the futile hope that one day tomorrow will be today.
Because at the end of the day, we only get one of each. Famous or not, time will keep ticking, so you'd better use it well. Striving for fame isn't wrong, but be careful when you gamble with your life.
If you wouldn't bet your entire fortune on a 0.000086 chance, maybe you shouldn't bet your entire life on it, either.

thank you for keeping me busy cause i am so bored hahaha. i love this song, fun fact: this is the first song from hamilton i've ever heard, but we will get to that later. let's go:
you cry in your tea which you hurl in the sea when you see me go by - now this needs an explanation, because none of you know why i love this one so much. so, before watching hamilton for the first time, i started playing assassin's creed III - this game takes place mostly in boston & new york in 1753-1783 & one of the missions is called "boston tea party" (i was singing this one line while playing it & i haven't even seen hamilton yet lol), ngl this game was one of the reasons i wanted to watch hamilton (just one of the reasons, not the main reason ok?), it just brings back great memories!
& when push comes to shove i will send a fully armed battalion to remind you of my love - we do love the dramatic king lol
