That's a hard one. Spider-verse 1 was such a personal story. The weight of expectations, the knowledge that you're different from normal people, having to find support in people who "get it." Those themes are there in the sequel, but they're a bit more hidden under all the bombastic comic book nonsense going on in every frame. The sequel is More Movie and it does amazing things with it, but it just can't hit as hard or as deep as the original exactly because it is a sequel that's trying to be bigger than the original. Still a banger tho, definitely recommend seeing it

listen we can be boring and just take this to mean “always been” as in post the archon quests OR we can make a bunch of headcanons instead such as:

1) they all meet up so much it feels like they’ve been doing it forever

2) these two were just fucking pretending they don’t know each other throughout the entire archon quest

3) alhaitham was being pedantic with “at the akademia” and despite being personal friends they fully separate their working selves and consider each other strangers in work matters

4) they’ve been meeting up as part of the friend group for forever but never actually talked to each other until this moment making it Extra Awkward™️

is it embarrassing to say that I am now realizing how much I love Yuji? I started JJK in December and started reading the manga around January, probably a few weeks after getting caught up with the anime. I liked Yuji but just as a cool mc, I didn’t love him as much or didn’t fall in love with his character as much as I did with Satoru and Suguru. This chapter just changed my brain chemistry once again, idk what Gege cooked but I’m eating up every last bit of it. I’m hyper fixated on Yuji now. Him talking about bits of his childhood with no other than Sukuna was low-key all I ever needed. The vibes of this chapter were weirdly amazing to me. Idk what’s gonna happen now but I have a newly found love for Yuji (yes, now that we’re in the last or one of the last arcs of the manga).
