beforus ancestors in the guardians au

im gonna try and gloss over the beforus ancestors in this post. if youre unfamiliar with the guardians au, you should read the summary here

in this au, i think aradia and sollux have known each other longer than anyone else. theyve been besties since they were really little and have gone through pretty much everything together. when they were older, their friendgroup expanded to include karkat and tavros. aradia and tavros did sports together, and karkat and sollux were like, frenemies who ended up becoming begrudging best friends.

vriska was tavros’s bully when they were a bit older and terezi was her best friend, but i dont think they really started interacting in a meaningful capacity until around high school, when aradia, tavros, and sollux all went to a different school, and karkat had a massive and embarrassing crush on terezi that sollux made fun of him for endlessly. karkat also met kanaya and gamzee in high school. somewhere in this loose time period, karkat and kanaya became besties, karkat humiliated himself about a million different ways, kanaya had an embarrassing crush on vriska that she will deny now, gamzee pulled more fuckshit than he shouldve been allowed to get away with, and karkat and sollux played a nonstop game of gay chicken that didnt end until almost the end of high school, right before karkat joined the military and they broke up again.

karkat was a medic in the military, despite all of his talk about not going to be that, and met nepeta, equius, and eridan while he was in it. nepeta and equius are weird as fuck best friends and nepeta has a crush on karkat, but frankly even if they are kind of strange theyre still like the best people karkat meets. he meets eridan because eridan is a relatively highranking military official who gets nearly fucking blown to bits and karkat saves his life. eridan winds up honorably discharged, and unable to just fucking leave it at that, karkat keeps in contact with him. (they start paledating pretty soon after karkat is done with his service. its got a lot to do with the military and traumabonding, but they also just. click. sollux hates it.) feferi comes in because she was childhood besties with eridan. and, in true karkat fashion, everyone meets everyone because karkat is a fucking weirdo extrovert who makes friends everywhere he goes.

theyre all pretty spread out now, but karkats working as a nurse and living with sollux, who has a tech job in california, and eridan lives close by in la, working some boring business job that he didnt earn. kanaya lives a state over working for an indie label fashion company and visits karkat frequently, and aradias work as an archaeologist takes her all over the world, but she visits all the time too, so dave has the most interaction with the two of them and very quickly claims them as his own besties. he and kanaya have gossip sessions all the time and paint each others nails and he does use vacation time to go camping with aradia all around the world. he has a favorite of the trolls and its aradia. fuck his boyfriends.
