It’s so easy to hate on Gale but he did give one of my favorite lines. In Catching Fire when they were training for the quell and he, the biggest hater there is, couldn’t say anything bad about Peeta. Like wym “it’d be better if he were easier to hate” 😭

It’s just so good because anytime Gale talks to Katniss about Peeta previously, it is based on his jealousy from the games and class status. The second he actually meets him, he can’t say a bad word about Peeta and I think that is beautiful

no one’s been able to write a truely strong FMC in a dystopian/fantasy novel since Katniss Everdeen. i fear every female lead now is characterized as a “warrior princess” but is just a pick me and needs their big, buff (heavy emphasis on the buff) MMC to save them in battle. suzanne collins was the only one able to write a badass female main lead who is so loving that she is strong because of that, and we don’t acknowledge that enough.

As a fandom, we agree that the pocketwatch Haymitch wears throughout The Hunger Games movie used to belong to Great Uncle Silius, right?

Did he find it in the pocket of one of the outfits and just keep it? Did Effie and Prosie give it to him as a birthday present? Did Great Aunt Messalina give it to him herself since we all accept she's his favorite victor? You decide. But the pocketwatch belonged to Silius and you can't change my mind.
