The Universe: The universe is so massive it's amazing to think about - the vast expanse of it can hold so many different possibilites... and not just that but the idea that there could be infinite universes - with infinite versions of every person living infinitely different lives.. it's so awe inspiring to think about.

The tidepools are tucked among the towering cliffs and stretch across the rocks that are thick with barnacles and blue mussels, clinging to every surface. Crevices have forked in the rocks, pools of different sizes are sporadically placed, each containing a different mixture of sea life. Years of the ocean carving. Years of the earth forming. The starfish clump in chaos. They can be found singular and alone or in the masses as a tangled mess of limbs of mottled purple or orange. Would he feel that sense of isolation? The isolation created when the tide comes in with water surging, coursing in a heavy force. It seems slowly into every aspect of being and tugs and pulls. But it's the starfish that remind me...it's the starfish that show me what's beautiful. I know why I live starfish. It's in the way they come together, eventually. Even when one is left alone, there always seems to be another near by I've never caught them moving, but I know they are. Moving to come together. To remain. Perhaps we've grown from the ocean. Somewhere along these adventures, I slipped and stumbled into the dark pit of my mind. The sheer beauty of isolation seems to always call to me, surrounded yet alone, I cant wait to clear my schedule and dissapear. . As I create and process these images, I look back and see my subconcious finding the same isolation in the elements and subjects I capture. Certainly this has been good for my creativity, but I wonder if at some point I will start to forget just how to be social in real life. . Ignoring invitations only to feel left out, actively choosing not to make commitments, waiting for someone to make my plans for me, hoping something will happen without having to make a decision. I love when I'm alone in the morning and then despise it by evening, wondering why I didn't do something or connect with someone. __________<<<<<<>>>>>>>________ I think a lot of these feelings are what has happened due to being connected 24/7. I go to sleep moments after ending a conversation with someone and wake up and immediately am saturated with whatever it was I seemed to have missed. My brain doesn't know what to do when I'm not waiting for someone to message me back or scrolling through others lives, leaving comments and likes. . Right now, because it is evening, I feel super lonely and like my day could have been so much more productive. Yet I sit here, writing and creating, and hoping to find a real connection. Oh the irony. Not to say I haven't formed many good connections through social media...I feel like I have. Unfortunately I just cant seem to get out of my head long enough to get out of my house. . Think I might need to step back from these addictive platforms, to get back to actual living. I just wonder how we all did it before the apps, how would I show my photography and my writing if I didnt do it here? Things I've been thinking about lately:

1. Nobody is perfect 2. Important things take time 3. Communication is crucial 4. All feelings are valid 5. Be good to people even when they hurt you 6. Vulnerability is ok and encouraged 7. Be yourself even if you feel disapproved of 8. Self love is cool and necessary for a happy life 9. Sometimes we fall short again and again but the cool thing is, we can keep trying 10. We are going to fail sometimes but it only matters if we don’t try again 11. The ONLY person we can control is ourselves 12. If you want to add value to your life, disconnect and go live it 13. Anxiety lives in the past and future. So learn to live in the present 14. Even if people don’t like you, you like you. And that’s all that matters, really 15. The heart and the mind speak different languages and it’s very critical that we are fluent in both 16. Don’t let past heartaches/disappointments affect how you trust and love presently
