Last night I was talking with someone on discord (one of the other Starline au creators) and I need to say it. We were talking about how in the aftermath, Clip probably relapses sometimes. Attempts to attack Shadow at night. At any time, really.

Sometimes he feels really bad about it, other times there isn’t much of a reaction. Other times he’s angry about getting pulled away. Omega has to hold him back because of Eclipse’s strength. They don’t understand! They don’t GET IT. Shadow will kill him unless he does it first!! He acts so feral trying to escape. Just try and keep him there until he exhausts himself. It’s really all they can do.

The angst potential alone haunts me. How long do you think he waited for Ford?? When did it start to sink in that nobody was coming to save him, that nobody would miss him? Would anybody even want him back? How long did it take for his anger, his heartbreak, his grief to turn into acceptance and a belief that this was divine retribution? How long did he work, how many jobs did he take, how much wealth did he accrue, how many brushes with death did he have until he believed he’d “earned” the right to go home and see his brother?? Many such questions. I need to go deeper

i think theres this idea in the general public that the "best" fanfic gets turned into real books like 50 shades of grey. but the truth is that the best fanfic can never be published as an actual book because its intricately woven into the canon material so its inseparable even if you change the names
