Anon I love you so much because you have no idea how much I ask this to myself on a regular basis. A couple weeks ago I was walking to work whilst brainstorming Jeremy Knox music headcanons and almost died to the tune of Believe by Cher while crossing the street. (Embarrassing, but also, what a way to go)

after changing my mind about 700 times, I decided that Jeremy, at least on a surface level, will dance/sing to literally any popular song with a good beat, (whether or not he actually sings the right lyrics is always 50/50) but he does love to sing. This comes from a tumblr post I saw like years ago saying that Jean takes a video of Jeremy singing Kylie Minogue’s “Your Disco Needs You” at 3am, and now that’s just canon Jeremy to me.

Jeremy was a kid in the 90s so TONS of 90s nostalgia stuff, all upbeat. Song 2, All star, What is love, Baby one more time, Tubthumping, all the catchy earworms he would hear on the radio and belt out as a kid. (It’s @kevinsdsy’s fault song 2 was the first on this list. The Jeremy Knox blur brainrot is real)

Jeremy, having heard these songs as a kid, knows all the lyrics just by memory. Even he doesn’t know about this until Cat plays Ricky Martin on her boombox and all of a sudden Jer is on the table with a solo cup microphone.

(“isn’t he only attracted to men?”Jean whispers to Cat as they watch Jeremy belt out ‘She Bangs’ in the most enthusiastic way possible.

“Honestly, l didn’t even think about that. I’m just pissed that they’re only playing the English version”, Cat whispers back)

Jeremy is also notorious for dancing to other team’s entrance songs when they walk on the court. The Breckenridge Jackals, for example, walk on court to Who Let the Dogs out, and Jer unironically uses that as pump up music. He aggressively nods his head to the beat of Let’s Get it Started when Penn State walks out. This leads to many (many) YouTube compilations titled something along the lines of “10 mins straight of Jeremy Knox shaking ass to his opponent’s anthems”

BUT also, privately, on his little 2006 iPod Mini (lol remember those), Jeremy listens to more alt rock (modern-day dad rock), like Muse, The Killers, Queens of The Stone Age etc… (this is based on a lighter version of the style of music Nora assigned to Andreil in the EC, and also my personal taste from that time period). I think it’s what he listens to on bad days, either bc he needs to drown out his depressing thoughts after seeing his family, or bc he isn’t quite mentally ready to fully process the insane truths Jean reveals on a day to day basis. Also days where he’s feeling more in-tune with his emotions and stuff.

anyway, I’m sorry, this got really long. I guess the tl;dr would be: imo, In TSC Jeremy loves to sing and dance to literally any popular 90s/early 00’s song bc that’s just who he is but privately on bad days he likes 2000’s alt rock.

Okay, so technically this is well over 9 sentences, but I do believe I only actually added about 12 (maybe a little more). Several parts of this section were already written, but I added in multiple spots to link pieces together and flesh out the scene, so I figured I'd offer the whole thing. I have not proofread it, though, so please forgive any awkwardness or typos because I'm sure there are plenty.

And then Buck's reaching, but Eddie's pulling away, shifting himself up and off of Buck's body, off of the bed, and Buck feels himself panic, a quiet plea of Eddie's name pulled from his lungs before he can stop it. But Eddie's there, still so close as his careful fingers strip away the last of Buck's own clothes, discarding them in some haphazard pile beside the bed as he murmurs gentle reassurances that have Buck sinking back into the mattress beneath him as Eddie works. 

When Eddie finally, finally manages to strip them both down, Buck is lost, all thought swept away at the sight of Eddie bare before him. Before Eddie can find his way back, Buck is reaching for him, gentle fingers tracing soft skin that stretches over hard muscle, dipping into the divots of Eddie's abs before tickling back over his hips as Eddie crawls back up over him. Buck sighs into the feel of Eddie's lips trailing kisses back up to his mouth, whines softly at the feel of Eddie's skin against his own as Eddie blankets him once more, not a breath of space left between them once Eddie settles back in above him, petting gently through Buck's hair as he presses delicate kisses over the sensitive skin of Buck's face. For long moments, Buck lets Eddie play, gives him all the access he needs to explore, but when Eddie's mouth tickles over a particularly sensitive spot beneath Buck's eyelids, he can't help the way a quiet giggle bubbles out of him. It should be embarrassing—should leave him shying away—but he's not, can only smile bright and content, as Eddie shifts back just the tiniest bit, just enough to let his eyes trail over Buck's happy features, and then Eddie's smiling, too, and chuckling just a little, those eyes full of all that soft, hazy brightness Buck had never quite learned to read until this moment, and Buck is absolutely giddy with it when Eddie finally whispers "you're beautiful, sweetheart.”

There's so much behind it—Eddie's words so full of the delicate devotion he's shown Buck from their very beginning, and Buck can't quite help the way his smile turned to a quiet gasp that escapes him at the awe in Eddie's voice. Finds himself reaching up, tracing careful fingers over the frame of Eddie's face, letting his touch come to rest at the cut of his jaw. And then Buck's urging him closer with those gentle fingers, guiding Eddie in for a soft press of a kiss that doesn't go further, but lingers, the both of them breathing the same air for long moments after they part, and Buck lets his gaze wander over every delicate feature his eyes can reach.

When he meets Eddie's eyes, he feels flayed open—like Eddie can see every complicated part of him he tries his best to hide. “Make love to me,” Buck pleads, whisper quiet, and for a moment he feels silly and cliché. But Eddie's eyes only soften, a sweet adoration Buck knows well suddenly settling into a whole new context he'd once expected he could never have.

Eddie doesn't answer, really, not in words, but his eyes study Buck's features like he’s something precious, and he presses his body closer than Buck think should be possible, leaving every inch of Buck singing with a sweet pleasure unlike anything he's ever felt before because it's Eddie, and he thinks maybe Eddie's touch is everything he's been searching for.

Eddie dips in to kiss him, then. A sweet, searing kiss that's over too soon and has Buck whimpering as Eddie shifts to mouth at the curve of his neck. Buck hopes he might leave traces there, marks Buck might get to keep even after he leaves Eddie's bed.

“I'll give you anything you want, Buck,” Eddie promises, then. Whispered words he hides in the crook of Buck's neck that leave Buck gasping and clinging tighter. “Anything at all.”

"Eddie," Buck whines, and it's desperate. A sweet, delicate, broken sound that trips over his tongue and catches in his throat that has Eddie smiling against the curve of Buck's neck, and Buck whines again as his breath hitches. "Eddie, I want you. Please. Tell me-tell me you want me, too."

"Sweetheart," Eddie presses into Buck's skin, lets his lips form gentle, reassuring kisses that linger as he pulls back, just far enough to catch Buck's eye, lets the fingers of one hand stroke through Buck's hair and then trace delicately over the birthmark at his brow, as he studies Buck's face, "of course I want you. I’ve never wanted anyone the way I want you.”

For a moment, Buck's quiet, trying his best to blink away the overwhelming emotion that settles over him at Eddie's words. But then he's reaching, sinking his own fingers back into Eddie's hair, hand cradling his neck. Then, near breathless, “How do you want me?”

“Forever.”

I’m very genuinely not okay about it. I started Riverdale when it first came out (buzz was huge in my high school during my gr 12 year because classmates were having public Cole Sprouse sightings in the city) but I dropped it at some point during s2. I didn’t like it at first (my teenhood was spent raised on Steven Universe discourse so the show was needlessly edgy and sexy and ‘problematic’ in my eyes) to the point where I got in an argument with my friend who was telling me it was good writing and I was telling her she was objectively incorrect. (Years later I messaged my friend to formally apologize and admit that I was wrong. She replied back to say she didn’t remember the argument and also didn’t care because she stopped watching after s1 and also that that was the first time in our 10 year friendship that she ever heard me admit I was wrong)

I started watching again in 2020 when Netflix dropped the 1.5x speed feature bc I thought that would be a fun way to experience the show and I started it from the beginning again w my sister and mom with a renewed mindset. We rang in 2021 with a three hour Riverdale watch session running over the midnight fireworks outside. We eventually had to banish our mom from watching with us because she didn’t Get It. Asked too many questions. Called it Stupid too often. We weren’t there for that anymore. We were along for the ride. My sister moved out and then so did I (not because of the Riverdale hate. To be clear.) but as season 5 and 6 and 7 aired we watched the new episodes every week together on facetime. Eventually we dropped the 1.5x speed thing in order to properly savour and enjoy it. I talked to all my middle aged coworkers about it against their will. I witnessed literally anything anywhere and thought to myself “just like Riverdale”. Fresh off a nervous breakdown and still trying to cope with the ongoing Covid isolation of 2021, the weekly Riverdale watch sessions were literally the highlight of basically every week for me. and even as life started sucking less over time, Riverdale was still there brightening every week and I loved it and it was Television and it was everything. The last of its kind. I will miss it forever. Probably just never gonna watch tv ever again

plot/connection: joe and your muse hooked up at an after-party after the bengals lost the super bowl two years ago. the one night stand resulted in a child that she has kept secret from him for two and a half years up until now because she wants his money. after joe goes through with a lawsuit and restraining order against her, she takes the opportunity to find him in france where the order is null and void due to not being on US soil.

Joe had just arrived in Paris for the first time after being in Cannes for the weekend, and he was thoroughly enjoying his time. He spent the day doing all the touristy things and ended the night with his friends at a two Michelin Star restaurant. Only the best for the star quarterback and his entourage. He was trying new things, he was making changes, feeling incredibly good about himself. Especially now that Cassie was virtually out of his life for good and not getting in the way of anything anymore. Sure, the DNA test may have revealed he was the actual father to Emmeline, but he didn't want a relationship with her. He wasn't ready to be a dad. Right now, he was going to sip his expensive French champagne and eat interesting food he'd never tried before, and put both Cassie and his daughter out of his mind completely.

13. What jobs do you think each of the Batchers would have in a Modern AU?

Crosshair: I think he's the grumpy manager at a small coffee shop that every employee loves and every customer is terrified of. Any time a customer makes one of the baristas uncomfortable Crosshair is right there ready to throw hands. He's kicked out so many people. That protective streak is going to make him an employee favorite.

Hunter: maybe some kind of camp counselor. Takes the kids on hikes. Is the dude at the bonfire that is really committed to keeping the fire going.

Tech: bro is either a professional gamer or he is a scary good hacker that erases people's medical and student loan debt. Ya know what, maybe both. He is a streamer as his regular job and uses his skills to help people on the DL.

Echo: I think he is either an engineer or he is some sort of doctor. I think he'd thrive helping people but would need something fast paced or challenging to keep himself interested. Oh! Oh wait!!! What if he was a fire fighter?!?! That could work! It's dangerous, it requires a lot of strength and endurance, and it very much helps people. I think he'd be a fire fighter. Fits him perfectly.

Wrecker: I think he'd like being a personal trainer. Someone that helps people reach a certain goal. He loves helping people improve their strength or gain more flexibility or confidence. That's a lot of fun for him.

Omega: Vet. I feel like this just fits.

16. What are some headcanons you have about Echo?

Oh boy. What headcanons do I have about Echo?!?! Well I'm GLAD YOU ASKED!!!

I think Echo has always had anxiety. I think he's channeled that anxiety into learning the regs, honing his skills, and trying to be a top performing (just like a lot of us with anxiety did as kids. we have to be the best so we sure do try.)

He's a tricky little thief. He can steal something right out from under someone's nose and they'd never know. He picked that habit up early on and it never went away. Sometimes he does it just to see if he still can and to practice. He's an excellent thief.

He has broken his knuckles punching someone in the face before. Why do I think that? IDK. He just has.

Sometimes he follows the batch around the ship. Sometimes he talks, sometimes he doesn't. But he tends to pace (can't sit still) and he doesn't like to be alone so it's almost absentmindedly.

Has learned (particularly with Crosshair) that his silence hurts worse than anything he could say to them during a fight. If he's quiet for too long the rest of them get really uncomfortable about it. They'd rather apologize than endure silence from him. It feels too much like disappointment and Echo being disappointed in you is THE WORST.

He tie-dyed one of Hunter's bandanas as a prank once and then hid all the other ones so Hunter HAD to wear it. Hunter still has no idea who did it. Tech knows. Tech has never told anyone. Echo will remember the look on Hunter's face sometimes and laugh to himself.

He actively seeks out Wrecker when he needs a distraction. Wrecker is great at that. Whether it's a physical distraction like sparring, a dance party (let me have my dance parties I neeeeeeed them), or some cuddles Wrecker is the BEST and Echo will seek him out if he needs to.

Speaking of dance parties!!! Echo loved going out to bars/clubs with Fives to go dancing. They had a song that they loved so much they made a dance routine to it. It came on at most clubs and they really stole the show.

With the same idea: He wasn't too sure about dancing in public after being rescued from Skako so it took him a little bit to warm up to the idea but the batch LOVES dancing and he finally caved and went with them. Turns out Wrecker and Tech can learn dances in ten minutes and love to be the life of the dance floor. Echo had a lot of fun that first night and has since learned to just drag Crosshair and Hunter into their antics otherwise they'll sit on the sidelines and watch instead of participating. He's stopped waiting for them to join. He's going to go get them, make them join. They don't get a choice anymore they're gonna dance with them.

21. Road trip with the Batch! Where are you going? Who’s driving? Who has the snacks? Who is in charge of music? Who got left behind at the gas station? And other headcanons you have about going on a road trip with the Bad Batch. 

We're going to somewhere like... the grand canyon or Yellowstone bc I've never been and I want to go SO BAD and I've never been that far west before and just need to go so I'm choosing a nature/sight seeing trip. Maybe some stops along the way. Maybe there's a fun amusement park or zoo or something on the way!!!

Tech is driving bc I feel like he'd be annoyed with everyone else's driving and he likes to drive. Plus he can handle driving long distance and has it all planned out. Plus he speeds so we'll get there faster.

Wrecker is in charge of snacks. He'll bring A TON. And he knows the best snacks. We'd never go hungry.

Music is tough for me bc I feel like Crosshair and I have similar taste so I'd pick Crosshair but then I think the rest of the batch would complain about the music the whole time. So I'd also consider Echo who has a decent mix of music that I love and music that I've never heard before so I'd find new bops. Cross and Echo fight over the aux cord final answer.

Hunter gets left behind at the gas station. He spent too long looking at the nuts in the snack section. No one did a head count when they were back in the car.

I'm glad that you're enjoying it so far ! I'm a fan of darker written stories personally, and think portraying the different mentalities of how things can devolve is pretty important to consider rather than the straight dive into co-dependency or love that sometimes can be portrayed in some stories like this. Not everyone has the same reaction to things, some people freeze, some people fight- There's also the case where people adapt on the spot for the sheer sake of survival or to avoid any more pain then they're already experiencing right from the get go. I honestly want people to dislike my Obito. At the end of the day, different people do different things, but knowing where each person stands and thinks also helps you realize why they come to the responses they do- which is one of the main things I'm trying to achieve in my fic. I am rambling now. Also I've never personally read Killing Stalking, but I'll take that as a compliment ! Maybe ?? I'll assume it is ! Otherwise I hope you also enjoy my other fic, for it is WAY more lighthearted.

5. 1st sentence of the 5th paragraph of an unfinished wip. hmmmm (*hides face* omg the 5th paragraph in just about every chapter of both active wips is short dialogue. ....I don't know what this says about me)

Have no fear, I found something that isn't a random dialogue that would make zero sense without context:

The worst part of it all, Del had pointed out once his tears had run dry and his intensity had been drained to a place of eerie zen, was that they couldn’t do much of anything.

18. This one required some digging because when I discard things from a wip it gets messy on where the words land. But I do have a few fragments that got tossed in the scrivener 'trash bin' instead of straight deleted. This was the beginning of a chapter in Starborn Saga that never ended up making the cut. At the beginning of the third act when Starborn! Sam is in a certain facility I originally planned on having a break between Lila and Goose's conversation and his exit where this (and more that was never written) would be.

Where the fuck are you, Raphael? Sam waded through the muck and debris of the ruined facility. He had the frequency meter hooked to his belt, his tombstone at the ready for anymore locals that might pop around the corner. He wanted to do the right thing here. For all the times he just shot his way through a locale, he felt it wrong to leave Raphael behind. Though with how this universe was, it might be a kindness to let him cease to exist. But what would they think? He could just see Ethan and Lila’s faces if they learned he didn’t even try. So he made another pass through the ruined facility looking for the doomed scientist. One more pass before he gave up and took the elevator down to end the lockdown.

I just couldn't get the scene to flow in a way that held attention. It felt like too much. so it went into the bin.

19. most interesting thing I've researched for a fic...I got two. One is actual research and the other was just a really interesting thing I discovered.

a. the most interesting thing I've researched for a fic is dancing for Ranger and the Deputy. both salsa and tango. I watched instruction videos, read about the moves, and watched a lot of dance videos from competitions and what not. This doesn't mean I know how to do either dance but I can now better understand the movements and patterns when watching a video. At least enough to write it. I think...I also ended up finding a deep love and appreciation for salsa and tango music. I'd always enjoyed it but like passively...I have playlists saved now levels of enjoyment from the research.

b. my interesting find is that in Fallout 4, where the map is shrunk down from the IRL Boston region of MA, it took around 6-7 hours to walk from the Dugout Inn in Diamond City to whereabout Greentop nursery sits up near Sargus Ironworks. This includes engaging enemies that attack and not sprinting. I then went to google maps, found Fenway Park (Diamond City) and plotted a course to where I think Greentop Nursery is supposed to be (approximatively) thinking I'd get a far bigger number....NOPE! Google says it would take around 6 hours in perfect lab conditions to get from Diamond City to Greentop. Fun little tidbit.

24. I don't have a good way to do that, actually. I try to play video games or find a different outlet to try to stimulate the creativity but a lot of times when I feel in a creative funk I just end up 'pacing the cage' bouncing from site to site moping at my desk. I should get better at not doing that...

this is hard because I'm very scared to toot my own horn but I am pretty darn proud of Ranger and the Deputy. Brainstorming started in November, first upload hit ao3 at the end of December and I uploaded the last chapter in the middle of March. The whole thing came together quickly and I'm pretty darn proud of the story arcs. Especially the third. I'm letting those two rest now...I'd like to work with Kitty and Ranger!Del again but I have other ideas to get out first...

Why is Wujing the most wishy washy when interpreting his design?

I think that in most cases he is both the easiest, and can be the hardest to interpret. Technically speaking, he is built like a man with mostly human features and can be interpreted as a normal human with the occasion of red hair and tinted skin but otherwise doesn’t need prosthetics like Bajie or faux fur like Wukong. Not to mention that because Wujing has the one of the least impact characteristic he is the most likely to be changed in personality depending on the medium. I have seen him being portrayed as a Gentle Giant with not much to say but always has a big heart, to a Raging Brute with a short temper but while emotional still tries to never give up, to even a Quiet Genius where his quiet nature comes from more of a quizzical point of view. Wujing in the story is shown to be thoughtful, caring, and ruthless, so any of these depictions wouldn't be inaccurate but rather a highlight of only one of these traits.

But design-wise, he could be considered the hardest as if accurately portrayed he would be nearly 12 feet tall, completely blue, and have a full red beard. None of these can be practically done and so most people settle with just making him a normal man with perhaps some monstrous features. I have seen the most in Japanese media that he is portrayed often as a kappa because these are popular river spirits and Wujing is a river spirit himself.

It really just depends if you’re watching a live-action TV show, which is more likely to use the more practical design, or if you’re watching a cartoon or animation that would benefit from the unique indifferent character choices. Depending on what the director wishes to portray Wujing will heavily influence his design. If he is to be seen as a Gentle Giant he might be given a more soft look, allowing the audience (perhaps aimed for children) to be more sympathetic. If he is seen as a Raging Brute he would be more intimidating in appearance whether human or demon. And if he were to be a Quiet Genius they would give him a more noble bearing like a scholar. You have to think more like a producer or a costume designer for a movie when it comes to where you want to put most of your effort into the prosthetics and fur costumes and at least have two characters with simple designs.

You see more in most cases for more long-running tv series or for more domestic movies there are human Wukong designs, mostly inspired by the beloved 1987. There are cases that which most of the cast can look more human as well, making Wujing stand out less. Some of these looks range from hiring tough intimidating men to older more soft spoken men depending on the character.

With Xiyouji movies there is a higher chance of Wujing being more detailed since it is a one-time production compared to TV shows where it has to be consistent. These are either full face makeup or full body paint and you have to see the dedication when it comes to putting on such details. A good example is how the 2014 Monkey King Wukong looks the most human out of the four as he is to be seen as a Gentle Giant, while in the second picture, Marble Mountain 2022 Wujing is given striking fish scale prosthetics as he is a Raging Brute in this movie. Demon Strike Back Wujing leans more to Raging Brute with his such temper hence his intimidating eyes and fish prosthetics, but he said the role by proving himself to be one of the most insightful and thoughtful characters in the movie as he is able to analyze his journeymen emotionally and mentally, giving sight of that Quiet Genius.

While in cartoon movies or television can be inspired by the live action, or wish to portray him more accurately. Even in animation, the 1986 is so popular that even when they can use a more accurate design, his human design is still seen! I believe this is because this is the softest version of Wujing that would give children that Gentle Giant persona that is most likely being portrayed.

But personally, I enjoy when production allows him to have a more monstrous form and allows him to finally look like a demon. We see this only in a few movies and shows but surprisingly it is increasingly popular in comics and video games. This could be allowing Wujing to be more of his Raging Brute persona but surprisingly many of these examples are Quiet Genius as well with Monkey King Reborn 2021, Saiyuki 2001, and Adventure through China Wujing all being seen as Geniuese in their own right despite their monstrous appearances. I would say this is a clever contradictory visualization to have their largest and most-human but still not member to be one of the smartest rather than having him play a Brute.

In any case, there are a lot of ways that people can utilize the beloved Wujing as because his character is one of the most subdued he is easy to play with. We have seen him from Gentle Giant to Ranging Brute to Quiet Genius to anything in between. Whether he is quizzical or thoughtful or just doesn't have anything to say at all he is always a delight to see and given the time he deserves to be fleshed out. I think that the greatest design for a Wujing would allow him to show his Gentle nature without erasing his Rage either. He is a man who is haunted by his past of having a single mistake ruining his life, and pushing to perform cannibalism to survive. But he is a kind man at heart and is shown to be a Thoughtful and Clever individual when he is given the spotlight allowing him to move past his rage and self-hatred to show his earnest feelings of wanting to be a better man. In any case a Wujing is loyal, earnest, and honest to a fault and those are consistent qualities that make him wonderful. Wujing isn't given a lot of screen time but I think that he has so much to offer from anguish, comfort, and philosophical discussions.

My puppy is my rock, I genuinely cannot imagine life without him. Seeing him everyday never gets old, jumping on me and slobbering all over my face will never grow tiring, him rushing between my legs to wrap himself around them will never stop being adorable... I could do with less barking, though. 🤭

Art and gaming have always been a large part of my life, and I can't think of what type of person I would be if my hobbies deviated in any shape away from that. I probably wouldn't be nearly as grounded as I am, tbh.

Seeing people in happy, wholesome, mutually fulfilling relationships fills me with a level of joy that I would say is indescribable, one thing I always seek is to see people reach their most fulfilled points in life and knowing that someone like that has a system of support AT ALL TIMES is amazing to me.

To add onto that, seeing people at points in their lives where they have reached a level of financial independence to where they can sustain themselves fully with no intervention required is something I will always see as a positive. I know there's usually a lot of resentment that follows people in those situations, but knowing how cruel the world can be and knowing someone like that isn't beholden to that evil is a net positive in my eyes.

I will finally say my father. I haven't always seen eye-to-eye with him, we've argued a lot, he has a lot of flaws (and in a similar way, so do I), but if there's one thing I fear is something happening to him. He'll be 58 this year, and know that is always a bittersweet realisation that there'll be a time where I can't just call him whenever I see something he'll like, I won't be able to call him whenever I need someone to talk to about how I'm feeling or go and hangout with when I'm bored (it's a 1.5hr drive I'm always willing to make) and the idea of that being a possibility makes me cherish every day I have with him. I love him with all my heart and of all the things I've listed so far, he will always be my most treasured.

On your Cursed AU, where would you put the emotional angst level on a scale of 1 to 10?

Cursed Immortal AU

You mean on a sadness scale?

Well...the way I like to think of it is this: If there is a genuine tragedy at the end where neither or only one of the bros makes it out ok, and they have to live with the trauma and the loss of the other for the rest of their lives - that is considered a solid 10 for me ;_;

And not something I can bear putting myself through - whether as a creator or as the audience.

However, if there is an ending that is still thriving on angst (like if they make it out together but there is a consequence) then I still consider it technically happy/bittersweet because in that scenario there is hope.

Case in point: In regards to the AU, Luigi is turned into a Cursed Immortal against his will, and they fail to find a cure. And Mario makes a life changing choice to stay with him.

By all accounts, yes this is sad. The bros have their mortal existence - their freedom - stripped away from them. However, whereas one had it taken by force, the other gives his up just to be with his brother. It's bittersweet because there is still a chance a cure can still be found (I never said there was no cure at all 👀) and most important of all, Mario is the one making the choice willingly. Luigi doesn't want Mario to sacrifice himself for him, but he knows there's no point arguing. They both know that neither would dare leave the other to suffer alone. Even if they stay Cursed Immortals forever. Even if they have inevitably left friends and family behind, they know that they can still get by with each other. That's all that matters in order to make them bear this new existence.

So with that said, I give the angst level for this AU a 7.

Why is Iona "reluctantly" dancing and not excited about it completely?

Iona's relationship with dancing is complex, She certainly is talented as a dancer with stamina, confidence and elegance. In an ideal world, she would effortlessly reach the top, becoming one of Eorzea's most celebrated dancers. Regrettably, the current reality is far from perfect. Dancing, at present, only serves to accentuate her feelings of emptiness. Her entire life has been devoted to dance, leaving her with no room to live for herself, as she was compelled to dance for extortion, being used by others for personal gain. Dancing has become a painful reminder of a life she never truly owned and a life she feels was truly wasted. The steps of the routine and the stage that confined her felt like a cage. It all contributed to her growing resentment towards the art form. Yearning for a life beyond the dance, she distanced herself from it.

In her nature, she's inherently inclined to please others. Taking on this role to help out her friend, she has a bit more confidence when she puts on the veil this time around. However, lurking in the back of her mind is this worry – a concern that maybe, just maybe, they'll take her for granted, and history will repeat itself, with her being used, just like back in the day.
