guys, guys.

be honest with me. would anybody be willing to read any SVSSS x reader stuff (or, just SVSSS with reader fanfics in general?) like please i'm being so deadass right now. i am very willing to write, it's just that i have no clue if anyone would want to read that???

i know that the people in this fandom don't necessarily have any x or & readers, but i'm sad and pathetic and have a weird emotional attachment to the characters. like hear me out guys.

i present to you all a few ideas i have:

1. reader transmigrates into SVSSS and decides, fuck it, let's become a counselor/therapist/emotional support service pal. half of the conflicts in the novel would've been prevented if therapy, communication, and simple observation existed! mu qingfan, give me a chance!! i promise this will lower the qi deviation rates by at least 50%.

liu qingge? alright, let's work on learning identifying your feelings better and not respond via violence to every situation. shen jiu? hey, hey, it's okay to be vulnerable! no- please don't go self projecting yourself onto an innocent 14 year old. luo binghe? *pulls out 5 different documents* heavens, where do we even start? like, gods forbid any of them have a proper support system, or at least be able to express their feelings and deal with them in a healthy manner!

2. liu qingge x reader where he gradually stops painfully pining and gets the love that he deserves. he gets his pretty face cupped gently and kisses all over it. that's it. that's the fic idea.

3. bingge, the original luo binghe, gets sent back in time.. all the way back to right when his mother died. he believes that he's been given a chance to re-enact his revenge, play it smart all the way from the start and have an upper hand now that he has to relive this! however, that quickly changes when this random fucking person (aka, reader) just wont stop bothering him?? what the hell do they want??? (for this one, i'm not sure if reader should be a transmigrator who believes they're in SVSSS instead of PIDW and is unaware of the whole bingge thing, or just some npc that proves him wrong about kindness).

4. SVSSS hater (or someone who just has a very complicated relationship with it!) reader transmigrates into it after tweeting "stupid author, stupid novels". they then proceed to accidentally collect two husbands they were so actively against before. ugh! now that i'm here, i guess i'll try to help out with their relationship and give my advice so that they won't have so much conflict, ones that were super frustrating to even hear about!! shen qingqiu, that dense ass guy and unhealthily codependent luo binghe! wait, what? what do you mean they both want me to be part of their marriage now??

About me: You can call me Claire. I'm AFAB she/her, 5'3", panromantic demisexual. I'm Tim Burton pale, brown eyes, messy curly bob brown hair, glasses with glasses chains usually, chubby but strong, dress either romantic gothic feminine or butch cryptidcore, like no in between, never wear make up because sensory hell.

Some type of neurodivergent but not diagnosed specifically. I tend to know a little about a lot of things due to jumping from focus to focus. Queen of Dad jokes, rather blunt since I'm not subtle. Aside from English can speak Latin, some Gaelic, some Spanish, a little bit of Turkish/Arabic, Church Greek and Slavonic, and random phrases in Russian, German, and Italian. I'm ENFP, Ares cabin from PJO if that means anything.

I teach preschool, love children as they're so fun to be around and the possibilities they have ahead are wonderful. I also bake, sew, knit, read tons of books, collect rocks and other nature stuff, tend to the gardens, I sing in my choir, and like to listen to music. Not specific music genres that I care for, more vibes, but been into some Bauhaus lately, along with SJ Tucker and The Dead South.

My faith is important to me, I even am considering pursuing becoming a religious sister at a convent, like a nun.

I do love horror, romantic gothic poetry (Think Poe and the like), analog horror(DOAI, Mandela Catalogue), Dr. Who, bad b movies (think Redletter media level bad), animation in general, HB HH, stuff like that, I read everything and anything so long as the narrative is interesting or the subject is a hyperfixation of mine, such as Religions, Mythology, History relating to late Medieval to Elizabethan, textiles, fantasy, or speculative biology (like thought potato on youtube). I also do dress in character for the Renaissance Festival, people assume I work there as I have season passes for the last 5 years and attend all weekends from open to close.

I tend to be a sweet tooth, love any chocolate, baked goods with richness or chocolate flavors, drink lots of coffee, tea, sweet red wines, mead, rum based cocktails or dark malty beers if we're going alcohol, though I tend to be the driver if I'm going to party somewhere. My giving love language is touch and words, along with acts of service. My receiving love language is words, touch, and gift giving. I love to cook or make gifts for others, usually don't expect it in turn.

I'm loud, maternal, weirdly dark yet wholesome, and able to lift a toilet with my bare hands up two flights of stairs. I tend to talk either like a southern grandma or terminally online weirdo with random swears. When friends have a bad breakup I'm like do you want a hug or does someone have to die?

In relationships I can be very talkative, but also in a sense the less dominant partner. Like, I handle the day to day, but not great at organizing the dates, the stuff like that's more romantic. I'd hope my partner could handle that part. I'm also romantically easily flustered. Like squeaking and burning red in the face from genuine good flirting.

Beige, My anxious little lady

-Is one of the many workers who are put in charge of clearance work for hyperdrive travel. She was so lucky to end up with the flirt Eclipse. She is so positively overjoyed by that.

-She's rather tired of her current life but also fears changing anything. She definitely has commitment issues.

-Very very much a worry wart.

-She's obsessed with Lunar's coffees that he makes. (Eclipse is envious of that.)

-She knows Dawn's secret of being an idol. Well it's not actually much of a secret. She's surprised the others haven't noticed yet.

-She lives and works on a planet on sector 9-1A38B! Well... before things happened.

Dawn, squish queen

-Is the runaway idol from one of the most technologically advanced planets out there. Her manager is constantly looking for her so she now just hides on Lunar and Eclipse's ship and joins them for whatever random adventure they go on.

-Her saliva can melt stuff if it touches you for too long. It's a separate gland though so she can control it. Makes a good grease cleaner.

-Her antennas can smell things! She will smell anything or anyone new that she meets.

-Is obsessed with Eclipse's plushies that he makes. (Lunar is envious of that.)

-More stretchy and squishy then the regular joe.

-Loves her blueberry space man very much.

Ruby, my tired lil tom boy

-Lives on a a large spaceship with only her and her caretaker in the middle of practically nowhere.

-the only adventures she gets to go on is when those junkers take her on adventures to the nearby trash planets.

-Bloodmoon it's probably one of the strangest things that has happened to her yet. She wished that he would keep his clothes on.

-has in unnaturally large collection of Old world Earth media. Got it all from the trashlands. It serves as one of her few forms of entertainment in her boring large house.

-Enjoys very much just going out of the ship and watching the stars. It's relaxing. It's quiet. Was at least.

-She's apparently now Bloodmoon's emotional support human.

-A mechanic! She loves going to the dumps and finding things to help her make stuff or repair stuff.

-is utterly exhausted with Angel's programming to be helping constantly. He will not sit still long enough for her to fix him Because he believes he has to make the bed or do the laundry or whatever else you can think of.

-Is a little scared of Earth. Just a little. She's um....very protective of her 'children'.

-her boots can send out Force waves which allows her to travel faster around planets with lower gravity.

Caretaker, no that's not her actual name but we'll stick with it for now

-has been watching over Ruby for a long time.

-is quite good at judo if she does say so herself. She often teaches the young Miss.

-Bloodmoon and Ruby are a different level of complexity to moderate. Often does she turn around to him imposing on Ruby in.... inappropriate ways.

-She does not speak of her own wants and desires very often but she does have them.

I have more characters but um.... *Sweats in not being able to introduce them until I introduce them in my other story* ... eventually eventually. This is what happens when you make a world with your friend who knows all your secrets.

5. what made you start your blog? Since I own a tad too many blogs, I'm gonna try and give the shortest explanation I can for all of them. -First came @sayitaliano. Got to open it as a side blog by chance with another Italian girl I met through our shared passion in volleyball -I had a blog that still exists on which I made graphic edits and posted translations for some Polish friends (on volleyblr) who loved Italian NT (and players LOL) and were interested in our language and culture so... yeah that's basically how it started. -Then I opened @sayitalianohome as the real main blog in which to collect all the links for navigation on @sayitaliano (couldn't really find a good responsive template and gave up there). Other reasons: I never thought that that blog would have become so big back in September 2014 and I needed to reply to posts with a blog that could be connected to the one people was writing to LOL. -As I started my healing process a couple of years(?) ago I created @loveyourlovelysoul to journal and have a place on which I could collect what I came to learn by experience, downloads and by getting informed (psychology mostly). Guess it turned out to be a place for others too to share their problems and feel less lonely -and I'm glad. - @psychelis-new is the 3rd blog I opened about my passion for divination and dreams interpretations. Well it's more than a passion now since it's been 4 years already but yeah... I needed a place for that to learn and understand, to practice, and to try and help others in the community. Hopefully guide them and support them, somehow? IDK. -And last but not least the baby @sayitalianolearns. 10. would you say you’re an emotional person? I'm actually a crybaby and yeah even if I look collected and "zen", at times I find it hard to control my emotions... I'm not as detached and cold as it could seem or as many think.

25. fave season and why? Winter for sure. I was born in winter, and winter has cold, snow and fog. And most of all, it doesn't have humid hot weather that makes you sweat like a pig even for simply existing/breathing. (Not a fan of summer, sorry!)

one is a seven times over immortal who's only family in EONS has been an immortal god. he might have been a scholar at one time but in modern days she has NO IDE what kind of new diseases or treatments there are, now she could look it all up but that would send her into a 5am spiral down google.

Meanwhile, there's Macaque, he is immortal yeah, I also hc when he was on Ffm he helped take care of the young ones but those were all either monkey DEMONS or regular monkeys.

Ofc bc of this he knows how to take care of bb Mk best and why he wants to be his babysitter so badly in the beginning. (look he needs something to do other than plotting revenge. he needs a fucking life and someone other than his ex-(turned partner again) in his life)

then again just like wukong he has no idea what new ailments or diseases have sprouted in the time hes been dead and alive again. he's more aware then wukong is but still, he has no clue if what the kids got is either a common cold, a stomach bug, or something that will end up killing the kids (it wont)

Nezha is immortal but not as immortal as wukong

Mei is mortal-but does live longer bc of the whole dragon thing (she might be immortal bc of the samadhi fire but i have no clue)

Mk is also a mortal(?????) no one actually knows bc of the whole "swk's powers" thing. so its like is he????? did he get ur immortalities or wat????

but because of this Macaque and wukong basically have the same reaction.

they freeze up, they panic for a moment. wukong emmedialty fears the worst and macaque just has no fucking clue what to do, even with mk he just doesnt know what to do. Macaque wants to help but what if he does something wrong? what if he makes it worse? what if he hurts them? what if he makes the little one cry? what ifwhatifwhatifwhatif.

ofc nezha is always there to snap those two out of it, even if hes sick. he'll throw a pillow at them and tell them to snap the fuck out of it. then the younger ones start throwing pillows too and suddenly it's a pillow fight and ohmygod their all idiots/ pos.

sooo yea macaque and wukong panic for a moment but once they snap out of it they do the normal sick stuff but one rule nezha has set in place "do not under any circumstances google it unless i tell you and I swear to the gods if you so much as think about using bing instead"

when Mk and mei were young and wukong and macaque were new to this whole thing they would take the kids to the doctor every time despite nezha insisting its nothing serious and that they just need something to eat, some warm blankets and some rest.

after nezha was proven right time and time again they listened to him finnaly and now they only go if nezha deems it necessary.

after the intitial panic though wukong SPOILS THEM. she will give them anything and everything they need and desire. she will faun over them and make sure they want for nothing while sick, sometimes macaque and nezha needs to stop wukong from getting/making something obscure bc one of the kids in there feverish state requested it.

i cannot tell you how many plushies mei has collected because she was sick and wukong jumped on his nimbus and came back with three in hand and a big smile on her face.

Mac is the more calm one after the panic, hes in the kitchen making something for them to eat (because if wukong tries to put candy or random fruit in the chicken noodle soup at mk/meis request again he will be the sick one) hes doing the laundry with the sick kids clothes, he's taking their temperature. (because wukong will not understand how it works) wukong is the emotional support and macaque is the one who gets the kids what they need while nezha guides the two. please he might be the older brother but they're the parents here.

Mk usually needs someone to snuggle with when he's sick, he doesn't like being alone when he's sick so one of them, usually mei. will snuggle up with him and hold him. even when he's older he grabs one of them and drags them to bed.

Mei is actually the one who got sick the most, and its because of the samadhi fire ring inside of her. its not so much sick as it is a form of heat stroke. of course its not as fatal to her but when she was young, even with a seal over the ring that wukong placed after the fire her little and young body couldnt control the heat of the ring and she would heat up much more then the average dragon. she was burning hot to the touch, wukong and nezha were the only ones able to touch her because she would get too hot. this was one of the only times wukong wouldn't panic because he knows the cause and how to treat it. they basically run a bath of cold water and they cast some ice spells. not normal ice that would melt immediately. so instead they keep filling the tub with magic ice, don't give her anything hot to eat and she'll be fine within the day. when mei gets older (24) these heat strokes slow down more and more and now that mei constantly uses her fire to beat up bad guys the excess magic buildup that caused the strokes no longer happen. She's barely gotten another stroke like that in the past seven years, it's only happened like three times.

Nezha....you'd think because he has the braincell he'd take care of himself better "I'm fine" "I'm fine "I have things to do, paperwork to finish" "(some random god) requested a meeting and I have to-"

If it was up to nezha he would be efficient during his sick time but nooooo, the only way to get him to fuckin relax is to throw his little siblings at him, they pull some puppy dog eyes shit and then hold him and they all fall asleep together.

one thing that happens all the time after a sick day is that everyone crawls into the same bed with the sick one in the middle and they fall asleep in one big cuddle pile.

My introduction post!

Hi everyone! Louis here...I decided to finally introduce myself better and talk about who I am and why this blog exists...as well to tell where you can find more of me and when, so without any further a do let's begin!

My name is Louis but I also use Tallulah for female name and Mits for non-binary, I'm 16, so in resume you can call me any of these 3, I'm genderfluid mostly fluctuating between male, non-binary and demi girl or agender, but I can also use the xenogender pronuns of crow/ crow self, ghost/ghost self and raven/raven, but any is fine self due to feeling my gender is heavily connected to these things, plus I'm also a bit of a musegender. I'm autistic level one of support, I'm panromantic feeling only emotional and romantic attraction (rarely) to people and ace in terms of not feeling ANY sexual attraction despite understanding it in more logical and science terms (with slight disgust of the idea of ME engaging in anything sexual).

I'm a small twitch streamer as well with the goal of creating a safe space for everyone no matter the community, race, gender, sexuality, country etc, my chat are called crows and I stream every Thursday, Tuesday, sometimes Wednesday and weekends on 4 PM BRT!!

I do streams playing games like Omori, Osu, Minecraft Hardcore, coffee talk, etc (other games), I also draw, organize stuff and cosplay most streams! I also bake in stream, my main focus being Mcyt community. I'm slightly chaotic so if you like Philza, Ranboo, Tubbo, Tommy, Aimsey, Emirichu , Jaiden Animations, Tecno, Cellbit and so on you will definitely like me!!

One of the other things is that I want to be like an older figure to people that follow me, like the older friend you go for advice, or an older sibling or a parental figure that adopts and helps you, a popular nickname for me in my chat being calling me father, and you all are my children, my crow friends and fledglings to look after!!

I know many languages like Brazilian Portuguese, Spanish, English, I'm currently learning Japanese and Russian as well!! So these languages are kinda allowed in chat! But English is prioritized.

I'm also learning how to do animatics and plan on posting them on YouTube as well with other videos, if you have interest I could show my ideas. I'm also POSSIBLY a therian (crow), I'm a fictionkin of Tallulah, C!Tommy, C!Philza, C!ghostbur but that's a subject for another day.

I'm also an writer, artist and so on, playing ukulele, keyboard and singing, I write novels, manga and music, currently writing 2 music EP I plan on releasing in the future. Not only that but I play RPGs!!

• She has a cute pair of pink gaming headphones with cat ears, it is so cute, she is so cute.

• I hc she really loves music because its kind of like her escape from the world. She's awfully emotional and sensitive to most things around her, so listening to some nice music she really likes can put her at ease. Her music taste also kind of switches depending on her mood. For example, she'll listen to hard rock when shes angry or cute j-pop when shes feeling all love struck or happy.

• She gets more sad than angry most of the time, and tends to blame problems on herself despite her not doing anything wrong more than half the time.

• She definitely can get angry sometimes, but its quite rare. If she's really upset, she'll probably punch her wall or throw something, but just end up falling to her knees and crying again.

• She's quite selfless and neglects thinking about herself and her own well being. She's never really thought about how depressed she is and if you ask her if anythings wrong, she'll just say shes okay as to not dump her problems on you.

• She loves cute stuff or stuff that's the color pink. It makes her feel so fuzzy inside. She loves to collect plushies and silly Sanrio trinkets.

• And yes, she snuggles with her plushies when she goes to bed and has a huge emotional attachment to all of them.

• Her favorite Sanrio character is, well, all of them. She thinks all of them are super cute and she has a lot of merchandise. She adores My Melody, Hello Kitty and she actually really likes Hangyodon.

• She has a computer but she doesn't play league on it, oh no. She's playing Hello Kitty: Island Adventure.

• She is drop dead GORGEOUS but this is basically canon because have you seen her, oh my god. She's never really realized how good she looks and when she gets compliments she's like "Ahh no way..!"

• She's a really good cook too! Her mother always cooks and bakes so she taught her when she was younger. She loves to bake cookies with cute little designs on them and bring them to her little group of friends or Baki. It's one of her favorite pass times.

• Sometimes she'll make Baki's bento box and she'll make it the cutest thing ever. There'll be a little note too with a chibi of her and Baki that says "I love you ♡"

• She also has a fear of abandonment. She doesn't really believe she's greatly deserving of love (🙁) so she gets anxious that something bad will happen or someone will leave her.

• She lovesss Vocaloid and Hatsune Miku. She has quite a bit of Miku figures too. She found out about Miku when she was in middle school looking through NicoNico Douga. She found songs and live shows of her and wanted to be like her. She saw Miku as a cute, kind, and confident pop star and that's everything she wanted to be.

so im gonna do like a general summary and then under the cut will be the longer stuff ok 💙💙 okay

so the idea is essentially this magical world with all this crazy stuff happeing all the time and all these people with crazy powers and as a result the concept of superheroes are kind of made into a sport! Kasey, the peppy teen hero, and her family (aja(the tough quiet one), hutch(the funny dad one), and victor(the smarg inventor one)) are a brand-new hero team funded by this rich old man trying to build himself a cool legacy. Nina, kaseys rival, is a teenage demon employed by the villain Arkangel, who is using the games to accrue power and resources for her own mysterious plans. ok? ok.

kasey:

the protagonist and my special little girl, Kasey is a 14 year old girl with incredible yet unpredictable powers who dreams of being a great hero! She's peppy and athletic and super excitable, though due to her reclusive upbringing she's not super socially in-tune. her heroic persona is Wildcard, her gimmick is playing cards, and her powers include teleportation, enhanced speed and senses, limited flight, glow-in-the-dark freckles, and a large variety of seemingly random abilities.

hutch:

kaseys dad and ajas wife, Hutch is a pretty chronically normalguy. when they were younger they dreamed of being a famous musician, but these days theyre just trying to be a supportive parent, which apparently includes dressing up in funny costumes and fighting evildoers these days, and thats fine. they're kind of an anxious guy whose happiest when theyre working on something with their hands, wether thats cooking, playing music, or working on their old pickup truck. idk their hero name yet but their costume is going to be cowboy themed and theyre going to essentially be the bard of the group. no natural powers, except their hair, which gets pinker when theyre in a good mood.

victor:

resident mad scientist working as a tech guy for kirby (aforementioned rich old man that runs the team), victor likes to work on magitech and fancies himself probably the greatest wizard to ever live, ever. spends most of his time in his workshop building gear for the team and working on one of his dozens of pet projects. He's a shit communicator and arrogant as all hell, is prickly and generally bad at interacting with others, though hes genuinely very intelligent, well-intentioned, and often very high-energy when it comes to his work. And don't tell anybody this, but he's also technically undead, and on a sensitive parole with the "gods" due to his tendency to get fucky with the natural order of things. he's essentially working on borrowed time, with a lot of dubious machinery just barely keeping his body from completely rotting away. His greatest accomplishment, though, will always be aja.

aja:

my best friend and the most important girl in the world ^^^^ kaseys mom and the second most enthusiastic about this whole superhero thing. not alive nor dead but a special third thing. a tendency to get overwhelmed by her emotions has led her to be a pretty reclusive, quiet person. a little mopey and pretentious, she likes literature, photograohy, and sorting her cassette collection. she's also the most efficient in a fight, as shes kind of been using martial arts and that kind of stuff as a sort of therapy for most of her life, she likes the feeling of being in tune with her body and the amount of self-control that comes with it. she adores her wife and daughter, and has a bit of a contentious relationship with victor - though she wants to be closer with him, the gap between them caused by their past feels a bit insurmountable for them both.

as for the villains, mainly we have

arkangel:

arkangel was, a very very long time ago, a human alchemist and magican studying the Grand Cosmos, the realm of what are believed to be the gods. When plague struck and, despite her prayers, killed her young daughter, she swore to tear her way into the cosmos and bring her daughter back to the world of the living. That mission has not gone so well, and centuries upon centuries later Arkangel has lost the plot a bit, her magics able to preserve her body at the expense of her mind and soul, and in-between cartoonishly evil shenanigans she's orchestrating a plot to bring down the cosmos entirely. Despite her tendency towards nonsense and general gullibility, Arkangel is a sharp and often cruel woman who holds those in her employ under high standards with little regard for the opinions of anyone except herself.

nina:

known primarily by her villain name Prophet, nishkanona prorok is a teenage demon, having used a pact with Arkangel to escape hell and a doting, yet overprotective father to live out her edgy teenage punk years smashing shit and swinging cool swords around. eager to prove her abilities, Nina was involved one of arkangels many attempts to destroy the world, this one in particular involving drawing on an ancient and mysterious power known as the Comet to open a gateway to the cosmos and release the Judge, a massive cosmopolitan beast said to be the only thing capable of destroying an entire realm. the process failed, and the intense strain of using her body as the gateway injured her significantly. Her desperation to prove herself, combined with Arkangels refusal to accept failure, have refused to let the injury heal and given Nina a pretty major dent in her pride coming into her second season as a competitor.

morningstar/luci:

the luc1-4 project is an experimental copycat AI designed to mimic an opponents strategy and siphon their powers through the nodes on its palms, and was used as Arkangel's primary footsoldier and representative before Nina's arrival left it obsolete, and it remained in storage, only acknowledged for training excercises or occassional maitenence. That is, until Nina abandons Arkangel, and Morningstar is needed once more. but years of sitting in the dark have left it resentful and beginning to question its true purpose in this world.

THOSE ARE ALL THE MAJOR CHARACTERS I HAVE DEVELOPED RN...theres a few more late-game villains and supporting cast members i want to flesh out and some worldbuilding stuff i want to explore more.

AS FOR THE PLOT. well. its all a bit vague but i have the general structure so lets lay it out!

starting out in the status quo with K/A/H going about their daily lives in the quaint small texas town they live in when kasey gets a letter in the mail inviting her to professional league of heroics and villany (note: im gonna try and come up with a catchier name but im bad at names) tryouts in New york city in response to her video audition (i think it would b cute to have the opening pages be her video audition but idk). ANYWAYS obviously they go and they do tryouts, and kaseys nervous but she does okay, but every time she needs to use one of her powers on command she just cant quite get them to cooperate and most of the teams there write her off as not pro potential. except for this weird old man, stanley kirby, who is trying to scrape together a hero team with his legacy money. see, his granddad managed an incredibly famous and successful team, but when he died kirbys father didnt see the business as worth the cost and shut it all down, and kirby wants to revive that legacy. problem is, hes never done anything successfully on his own in his life and nobody has faith in him. but he has money, and he offers to take kasey on if her family comes along to round out the team because literally nobody else wants to work with him. They agree, and when theyre touring the facility discover that victor, ajas estranged father, actually works for kirby, as kirby throws money at any project victor wants in exchange for v developing any inane comic book tech project kirby sets his heart on. aja lies and tells kasey victor is her brother, mostly because she isnt sure how to explain the. complicated history between them. more on that later. anyways, kirby cajoles victor into agreeing to be on the team because you need a 4-person team to be eligible for the maximum amount of events possible. so theyre all working together yippieeeee.

a few months pass and they do qualifiers, a team-based event that decides the rank you start the season in, and due to shoddy teamwork and general inexperience team kirby comes dead last. thats okay, theyll figure it out! the first event of the season is the opening tournament, one-on-one hero v villain brackets to show the audience and judges what youre made of. see, heroism and villany are judged on a combination of skill and style. theres gotta be balance between being a good fighter and a good performer, flashy combos, witty banter, and showstopping signature moves are the kind of thing people come here for (think fighting game-esque). victor goes in the first round and completely wipes his opponent, knocking them out of the ring in two seconds flat by cutting them off in the middle of an opening monologue. despite winning and winning efficiently, victor gets a shit score because there was absolutely no spirit or performance at all, and the guy he beat actually gets a better score just for his flashy entrance. aja and hutch also do some battles and teach us some more about how the game works, but the other important one is Kaseys opener, because she's pitted against Prophet(nina), who turns out to be a deathly efficient fighter with perfectly practiced form and a Silent Sentinel vibe that bounces pretty well against Wildcard (k)s chaotic, bubbly energy. It's a good fight, and in the end kasey barely wins, something that is INCREDIBLY frustrating for nina, and the first spark of their rivalry.

a few more events happen that set up the range of the games, establish some supporting cast, ect, kasey starts coming into her own with her powers, theres a b-plot about her school life, aja and victor have some family baggage and drama ect. but the major conflict of this season is arkangel. remember when i mentioned she wanted to use the Comet, an ancient well of mysterious cosmic power, to summon the Judge, an ancient destructive cosmic beast? yeah she hasnt given up on that, but shes needing to change her strategy. see, the comet is mysterious and everybody has a different theory about how it works, but its known that it doesnt give its power to just anybody. according to legends, it only grants itself to someone of pure heart in moments of pure need, and according to some magicians it needs something of equal power to pull its energy out. arkangel tries a few different things to pull out the energy she needs and i havent quite ironed out all the details of that stuff yet have mercy but. Somehow, She Figures It Out and summons the judge and it starts wrecking shop and there is a big awesomesauce chaotic battle. nina runs away, just fully ditchihg arkangel, and in a moment where it looks like shes about to lose, arkangel stabs aja and causes some of her hero gear to backfire and . well she is dead. this causes 2 things - 1, kasey summons the full power of the comet and just completely annihilates the judge, reducing it to an egg (its a wishing star type deal, power bends to the users truest desire and kaseys desire was to stop it from hurting anyone, which leaves it in a harmless form. she doesnt want to kill anything :( ) 2, victor freaks out. remember how hes on parole with the death gaurdians? yeah well one of these spirits is his "warden", basically this creepy ghost thing only he can see that follows him around and criticizes his life choices and makes sure hes not, yknow, damaging the fabric of reality or whatever. well AAs whole thing is that she wants 2 tear reality to shreds, so victor makes a deal that the warden will lend him its power and in exchange he'll let them arrest her, and this works out, he goes full necromancer and wipes the floor with her in seconds. its awesome. she gets arrested and dragged to spirit jail by a bunch of creepy ghosts.

after that is the next major "season". in this bit we learn a lot more about the grand cosmos and the things that live there. theyre not strictly gods, just beings of a different realm with higher concentrates of magical energy, letting them get even bigger and even crazier than stuff on the earthly realm can, and a few of the residents (which im debating on a catchy name for, cosmopolitan or cosmonaut both sound fun to me) decided to use their power to kind of sheperd the mortal realm. some are predators that eat souls, others try to maintain balance, others try to keep up the divide between the worlds, some want to tear it all down. but the section our heroes are involved with fancy themselves universe cops basically, arbiters of justice to souls who defy the natural order of life and death including, yknow, people artificially inflating their lifespans through magicks and whatnot. this is all organized by a being called the pale lady [or aomething idk] who operates this big cosmic courtroom, which is where arkangels "trial" is held to kick off the season.

i say "trial", but the question isnt really if if shes done anything wrong, its more of a character thing, like, people she knew in life who were affected by her actions weighing in on if they think she was right or wrong. this is where she explains her sad backstory, and the big conflict here is with victor. arkangel wanted to tear the system down for the sake of her daughter, and, well. his pet project, the thing hes spent most of his time working on for centuries? it isnt too different from what shes doing. a little less violent, yeah, but fundementally... well. the trial continues on and our heroes return to earth with arkangel officially condemned to sit around in heavenly prison, presumably forever.

aja is still dead. this is a bummer. bringing people back from the dead is hard, its simply not done, but if anyone could do it its victor. he explains, though, that souls are just collections of energy and that after death, souls dont really "go" anywhere, they just disperse back into the environment. this process takes some time, but because aja was kind of a patchwork project and was never technically fully alive, he has no idea if her soul could exist without her body at all, let alone if it would last, or if using the same process he used to bring her to life would actually bring her back or if it would just create a new soul in its place. so hes sort of. stuck. and his special project? well, thats not ready yet. its so, so close, but he just doesnt have the power he needs.

he wouldnt, at least. but after the trial the warden offers to make him a deal. if he agrees to hunt bounties for the pale lady and act in service when hes needed, the wardens power is granted to him to use as he'd like. much more freedom, more power, a cool new form with like a crazy scythe hand that im super excited about and will eventually draw someday. he agrees.

victor uses his power to finish his project, which he swears will fix all of this. see, hes been working on a time machine.

time travel isnt really a thing you can just DO, yknow, time doesnt really work like that, its not a tangible thing you can touch and trace and go backwards and forwards in. so its not really technically time travel. its a much more elaborate form of a type of technology he'd been tinkering with earlier in the comic, a sort of holodeck-style simulation that creates simulations based on the users memories and desires. so basically he creates this dream universe for himself, and uses it to go back to a little while before he'd brought aja to life, waaay back when.

see, the first time victor did this, he was only 19. he knew what he was doing, but he didnt know what he was doing. he was going to create life, a spark, a new soul. but you cant create something out of nothing, and the process of bringing aja to life fully killed him. upon his death, in that brief period before souls fade away, he begged the pale lady to give him more time, just to go back and see his creation, make sure she was safe. and she agreed, but when he woke up, it was far too late. six months had already passed and aja was long gone. he assumed she was dead, until a few years later she turned up on his doorstep begging him to help her. see, shes horribly lonely, completely outcast in a world she doesnt understand by people who dont know any better except to be afraid of her. she wants a little sister, someone to take care of and nurture and be with.

from this point on, the story is never quite clear. neither of them like to talk about it, and the most we see as an audience is brief flashbacks, sillouhettes and vague implications. but it ended with two people dead, aja down an arm and victor an eye, and both with blood on their hands.

victor holds a lot of guilt for everything that happened, and hes never really been able to get over it. he only ever really sees aja as this kind of... not mistake, really, he just had all these wonderful plans for her and for the life he wanted to give her and it all just. fell apart. because he wasnt prepared. he knows he couldve done, and shouldve done better, and hes going to prove it, hes going to do everything right and shes going to be so so happy this time.

but its not really real. he can kind of convince himself it is, for a little while, and he can live out this perfect life with his daughter and husband and everything is exactly how it was supposed to be. but its not right, its not her, its not his family. hes not fixing anything by doing this, hes just wallowing in his guilt and shame and abandoning the real, actual aja, his actual kid who needs him to be there. thats kind of always been his blind spot. he loves her, but his guilt keeps him from forming a real relationship with her because he can only think about how he hurt her even when shes basically begging him to come be a part of her life.

he snaps out of it and comes back, to find that, whoops, he miscalculated something and its actually been almost four months that hes been gone, literally just dissapeared into thin air one day leaving hutch alone with a dead wife and a bunch of spellbooks they could never in a million zillion years hope to understand, trying to figure out how to cope. bit of a dick move. they talk it out. they bond. eventually they do bring aja back, and as a little bonus shes actually really, fully alive this time. thats that haircut with the white streak in it, thats Alive Aja. she also gets more special powers now that shes alive and can actually use her magics(ill explain this fr one day but for now i digress)

OH slight digression at some point around this area - probably after or as a b-plot during victors stuff, the judge egg transforms again into bucket, my adorable little octopus girl who i love with all my heart i dont have a picture on hand but just trust me shes so cute and swag.

after this bit the next season of the game picks up and we start to get back to kasey, and nina. kaseys been having a hell of a time through those last four months, with crazier new powers from the comet, crazy teenage angst and relationship drama, and crazy weird dreams. crazy.

nina, on the other hand, has been totally fucked. see at some point in season1, during one of the games, she allied with this other villain, a low-level grunt called Bruiser. its a battle royale type game competing for a magic prize that gives the winner a wish yadda yadda and after becoming friends with bruiser and winning she stabs him in the back to take the prize, but feeling guilty uses her wish to make sure hes okay. hes kind of been watching out for her since, as he just kind of happened to live around the same area of the arizona desert that arkangels base is at, and hes kind of a big brother figure for nina. so when she ditches arkangel, she turns to him, knowing she cant really go home. he lets her crash on the couch in his shitty trailer, and does his best as a loser 30something who doesnt get paid enough to make sure shes mostly taken care of. and he lets her team up with him in games so she can still compete, because, despite her injury getting worse and worse, shes still determined to prove she can do this.

over the course of the games, nina and kaseys relationship gets kind of explored in some cool fun ways and they get to start to be actual friends in-between ninas "i hate you i have to be better than you fuck you" complex, and this climaxes in a big battle where nina slips kasey a fusion ring (something used for an event in s1 because its swag) and they fuse to take down like a big evil robot. its an awesome fight, but. during the battle with arkangel nina had left before kasey channeled the comet, so this is when she really realizes just what kasey had done. and it pisses her the fuck off. the one thing nina couldnt do and kasey is whipping it out like its nothing? why? why her? nobody wanted it more than nina did. nobody worked harder or needed it more. so why didnt she deserve it? what makes kasey so special? its not fair. so she punches her in the face, hard, and truly and honestly tells her how much she fucking hates her. eventually after some more Events they have a heart-to-heart about it and nina opens up about everything, about her injury and how badly she fucked up, and mostly about the fact that shes been lying about... everything.

see, ninas been telling people shes this ancient demon princess with royal hell powers, but shes actually just. some kid. her dad is like the chairman of the city council in their circle of hell or something, and shes just his daughter. she lied to sound cool. hes overprotective of her, because when she was born he was told she was particularly fragile, and so he kept her away from a lot of the things she wanted to do, making her a bit of an outcast and when his overprotectiveness turned away from just "dont participate in bloodsport" to the kind of music she listened to or clothes she wore, she decided to just get out. she made a pact with arkangel that if AA could convince her dad to let her go to earth for a "boarding school", she'd be her servant and blah blah blah. eventually it worked and ninas been keeping up the lie for the past like, three years now or however long its been. but the thing about demonic pacts is that theyre not just like, a pinky promise, theyre super dense legalese and theres a lot of consequences for breaking them, and nina is being chased down by hellhounds trying to get her arrested for breaking her pact with AA, so she has to come clean to her dad. this results in a fun little adventure down to hell for K and nina and also, nina and her dad work things out. he tells her hes just worried about her she tells him she feels like he doesnt believe in her or support her, her arc about proving herself kind of culminates in being able to accept her limits and that "pushing past" is only ever going to hurt her, you have to take care of yourself if you want to keep doing the things you love longterm, blah blah art burnout sports injuries ecetera. eventually they decide she can keep doing the villain thing, but she has to do it like, fucking safely and stuff. frm this point forward shes an ambulatory wheelchair user because i think it would be fun and awesome

theres some endgame stuff but its all a bit fuzzy! AA is busted out of space prison by an even eviler villain who wants to destroy even more stuff (so much to the point that even arkangel who was totally onboard with "destroy the great cosmos" kind of goes "hey we cant really destroy the earth i have to live there" and "wow this guy is a freak"), luci gets to be a villain and have her little arc too, kaseys aforementioned crazy dreams and crazy comet powers build up to something, but like, this is all pretty rough.

theres a lot more details.like the actual games themselves and some of the filler stuff, sidecast, some cool episode concepts, some of the more interpersonal sideplots especially a lot of the ones with hutch and all the kasey normal teen bplot which i adore but dont fit in neatly to a more concise linear summary and are also again a bit fuzzy. ANYWAYS.

also one last thing nina is a skateboarder and if kasey was playing a normal sport and not This Bullshit i think she would be either a baseball player or a track runner. also aja gets a motorcycle and she loves it to death.

Oh oh this is a fun one!

I'm not sure if it's the lack of object permanence or imagination or just sheer laziness, but I dislike writing 'out of season' or trying to evoke, like, The Bodily, in a particular way that I haven't recently experienced. I feel like the writing comes easier and turns out better when it's something that's fresh in me, yanno? I think I wanted to start working on this back in mid-November - but by then the very last of The Pre-Winter Labours like stacking firewood were weeks gone, and the weather had turned pretty frickin cool and crisp. I know the Hot Weather Toil feeling well, and instead of trying to dredge it up I was just like, eh! Another time! When I've been out suffering a bit! :D

On the WIP: short smut one-shot/collection of homoerotic vignettes of hob pre-1389 realizing he likes men, and maybe, realizing he doesn’t want to die, for the first time. tone is discovering, hot, happy, and THEN stab with knife at end (note: the knife is emotional but I won't spoil what it is)

The reason I wanna capture the feeling of physical work outdoors and the specific vibe of Hot Weather Horniness is because this sprung from @moorishflower's fic Ecdysis - a single line that planted the brainworms:

Fun fact: Flower King is also the product of a line in Ecdysis. It’s kinda sucky since uhh I haven’t actually drawn consistently since the last fandom I was rlly excited for and that was like three years ago. BUT…that stops now.

This silly guy has existed for a few years now, and has a canon story and stuff— but he’s my emotional support character so I bring him everywhere.

This is him in the touchstarved universe—and in the Hound origin. Though in this version the thieves were also sometimes pirate-types. If that makes sense.

I have an oc I am making straight outta touchstarved though, along with another that uhhhhh may or not be a self insert. (I wanna hit all da origins 😈)

Anyways, here he is, my lil rat man. 💕

Some things about him because I like to ramble-

He plays the violin and performs for whatever bar or tavern allows it. (Definitely plays at the Wet Wick as soon as he steals acquires a violin.)

First choice for him is Leander, though Aarman doesn’t trust him at all yet 🤨 he just thinks he’s cool.

Got rlly offended after their interaction with Vere. ‘What do you MEAN i REEK of DEATH? And the ROAD? And some random DOCTOR? I’m supposed to smell like SEA SALT AND HERBS.’ Now holds a grudge.

Loves loves loves LOVES his dagger collection. Has named them all, gives some a smooch before he throws one into the back of any enemy, cradles his favorite to sleep—and sucks on the blades sometimes when nervous. (He’s careful not to cut his lips or tongue.)

Switches between hairstyles- sometimes his hair is all up, sometimes it’s half down-half up, sometimes when he’s feeling more casual, he lets it loose.

Once befriending Ais, he brings Princess treats and plays with her. She reminds him of his old cat Miss Fluffy Paws.

Also you talked about Abby and Gabe's relationship, but what about Pipper? Do they get along too, or is she more of a tomboy who doesn't want to hang out with the girls? 😂

Anyway yes, Pip and Abby get along just as well as Abby and Gabe! But obviously there are some differences, mother-daughter relationships are often a little deeper in most cases. I'm going to unravel some thoughts about the dynamics in the relationship between the three, including a tad more about Gabriel for context.

I guess to Abby, Gabe is the parent she sees as the family protector. She knows that he will be there to keep her and Pip safe, and that no matter what she can go to him if she needs help with something. She sees Gabe as very smart, which tbh is true in my verse, he graduated both high school and university with honours and always was a straight-A student. Pip is smart in her own right, but much more average, leaning into the arts and sciences over things like mathematics and technology like Gabe. Regardless, Abby thinks of Gabe as highly knowledgeable and likes to watch him work, admiring his ability to focus and quickly complete tasks. She also sees him as strong, but she admits that he's not nearly as tough as her uncle One (and she learns early on that Gabe does NOT like being compared to his brother lmao).

Mainly, Gabe fills the role of dad in her life about as well as he should, providing her with security, but also a fun companion- she likes to play video games with him and show him all the random things she collects on her adventures in the garden (her favourite being cool rocks, or maybe even pointing out the unique shapes of the clouds above). Gabriel takes a little time to adjust to being an engaging dad, but he settles for the quieter activities with her, helping with homework, even reading aloud before bed. And believe it or not, Gabriel is the parent Abby comes to with anything she deems secretive, feeling more comfortable telling him about her problems than anybody else (unless it's something she'd hiding from both parents, in which case she tells Swag haha).

Now, Abby's relationship with Pipper is not quite the same, but still totally healthy. To Abby, Pip is the source of comfort in her home, the one who always cooks tasty meals, who greets her with a bright smile no matter what. Pipper would be the parent who can better keep up with Abby's hyperactive tendencies, not above getting down and dirty in the mud to help her daughter search for bugs. Pip's unique personality and habit of excessive speech never bothers Abby, and it benefits her because she grows up to be very non-judgemental of those around her, like the kids at school who don't seem to fit in. She also is taught acceptance when it comes to appearances, never seeing things like fat or natural complexion as ugly, because Pip is overweight and doesn't wear make up, but is still very pretty to Abigail. I think in the long run, Pipper is the one responsible for teaching Abby to handle her emotions, following the path that Pip took from her own mother, and loving her family and friends unconditionally. The only difference there is that Abby doesn't battle with her self-worth like Pip did- with both her parents present and always-nurturing, she never feels like she isn't enough, or that she can't love herself like everyone else!

So yeah, Pip provides the emotional support for Abby, and also teaches her some pretty important life lessons! I also feel like Pip would be the one to handle anything that comes with puberty, when Abby gets older haha. As decent a dad as Gabe is he wouldn't do very well with stuff like that. Abby once walked in on him in the shower (she was quite young) and just the memory is extremely awkward for poor Gabe, let alone the body-related questions that followed...

Anyway, to finish answering your question, Abby is more of a tomboy but that doesn't affect her bond with Pip at all! She might not like frilly dresses or whatever, but she isn't totally against being feminine like Pipper either. Other than her mom, the only female role models she has are Janice and Dani, Janice being the one who typically engages her with some more girly activities, hehe. ...I think that Bitter would maybe be down for that stuff too. Like, clothes and make up. Swag could be cool with keeping her stylish, but Janice is the real expert and honestly, with Abby being such a busybody it's not really a great idea to put her in any expensive outfits.

A Few Things * Last weekend, I had some time to work on fixing embeds on the website. I rolled out a new feature for our forum where members can pick whether they want to have automatic embeds. And there’s an option to disable them on mobile devices. With the feature on, which I now highly recommend on mobile, you can still tap/click to view an embed in a post, but they don’t load automatically. With this feature on and ads disabled, the forum is extremely fast. I’ve had it on (for mobile) all week and have noticed a massive difference. I have two other, relatively minor, projects to work on next, and then the big one: moving this newsletter completely off Substack. * A few years ago I bought a bunch of these NFC tags when the iPhone introduced the feature. I never found a great use for them, but I liked playing around with the feature and how it integrated into Shortcuts. This week, I finally found a fun use for one. I put one in the bedroom closet, and now, when I wake up and go to get dressed, I can set my phone on it. The automation will wake up my scale, turn on the kitchen light for coffee making, and turn on my office and desk lights and set them to the correct brightness and temperature: minor things, but a collection of events I do every single morning. Their faster pop-punk albums are perfect gym music and the two podcast episodes breaking down their biggest hits inspired the discog dive. I still haven’t been able to get into their latest full-length, but the EP on the deluxe version is fantastic. I’ve also really come around on Radiosurgery and that entire album has found a resurgent life for me these past couple of years. Resurrection is still easily at the bottom for me, but Makes Me Sick and the live release are a blast to revisit. * Paramore’s cover of “Burning Down the House” is awesome. Just a perfect spin on the song with Paramore’s After Laughter flair and Hayley knocking the vocals way out of the park. It’s up there with my favorite vocal performances from her, for sure. * The Young Hearts’ new album, Somewhere Through the Night, came out in late December during the holiday music lull, so I never actually wrote about it here in the newsletter—time to rectify that. If you like bands like The Gaslight Anthem, The Menzingers, and Cold Years, but with a little more pop-punk flavor thrown on top, this is absolutely worth checking out. I can see this getting a lot of play this upcoming spring and summer. * Dave Hause re-worked a bunch of old Loved Ones songs to fit more in with his solo singer-songwriter sound, and the outcome is pretty great. They were great songs before, and they’re also great songs in this format. * I didn’t spend enough time last year with Noah Kahan’s album, Stick Season. I knew it blew up, but I couldn’t find the right mood for it to latch onto me. It turns out cold January nights work a lot better. There are a few places where I get Andy from Manchester Orchestra vibes with the vocals, and the songs pack an emotional punch in the gray doldrums of late winter. * Emily Wolfe’s The Blowback is one I flat-out missed last year but caught on someone’s end-of-the-year list and added to my listen list playlist.
