Are there any really stupid science hills you'll die on for no reason? I do NOT mean "this is a serious and oft-misunderstood issue on which I disagree with my peers," I mean the "hotdogs are tacos" of your field.

So basically all of ‘higher taxonomy’ (every taxonomic rank above species) is just made up, wibbly wobbly, and incomparable. Arguments about what high ranks ‘should’ contain or mean are pointless, because the system is just deeply flawed.

But damn if I won’t write pages and pages of papers about how much it matters that higher taxonomic ranks are *useful*, and whinge loudly about the fact that many higher taxa are overly lumped to the point of insanity. See: genus Anolis == family Anoliidae. How can that possibly make sense? The people who argue in favour of this taxonomy seem to just be disinclined to learn which species belongs to which genus, and want to keep it simple by throwing them all in the same bin. To which I respond ‘okay, let’s just call every genus and family the same thing. Then you can’t possibly get it wrong. And also, thbbbbbt’.

where the line belongs !!!!!!! the transcript literally says dean is "ready to argue" because he WAS ready to argue. because he DID protest and try to stop him with "Don't do this, Cas." he was begging, desperately, for cas not to say the thing he knew was coming, the thing he always hoped to hear but never really thought could ever be possible. the thing he desperately does not want to hear now, not like this. not if it means cas leaving him forever. they don't ever have to say it, if it means keeping cas.

cas says it's a goodbye and dean begs him not to go.

rant to me about lesbian nami

ahsdhjkl every time I think about it I grip my knees a little harder and dig my nails into my skin a little deeper — because how the heck did I miss all the signs while I was growing up?

but now I'm older and perhaps more mature and a little more accepting of my queer identity and I. I'm not missing it anymore.

I've been rewatching and rereading one piece in no particular order and these are some of the evidences I gathered:

there're multiple women throughout the timeline but the most consistent one is vivi. most likely vivi was nami's gay awakening bc before arabasta arc there's not much possible romantic interaction for her.

and no luffy is aroace and zoro and nami have a sibling-like dynamic so the other two of the romance dawn trio aren't possible romantic subjects for nami. usopp has kaya and chopper is baby. sanji is the only one with potential but nami clearly has no interest so there's that. early sign of lesbianism fr, because look at me in the eyes and tell me that sanji; with his good look and good cook and good manners, albeit a bit perverted, is not desirable?
