When they part, they turn to look at the other for the last time in a probably loooong time, if not forever. And they have a look of utter sadness and heart break on their faces. Because they hate to let the other go.

and only one of them is an established relationship.

going insane over how fitzjames’s death scene and billy’s death+subsequent consumption are put in direct parallel to one another and what it says about crozier and hickey. fitzjames is allowed a death so private that not even the audience gets to see it, while billy’s becomes an event experienced by every person in the camp. both of their deaths could be perceived as a mercy, but one is gentle and done upon request, while the other is violent and done without consent. fitzjames asks to be eaten but is not; billy is eaten when he wanted to live. 

in his actions, crozier is preserving fitzjames’s dignity and humanity in death. crozier starts out resenting most everyone on the ship, but in the end it’s his kindness and compassion towards others that leads to his survival. it was silna who told him he didn’t want to live, and it was silna and his friendship with silna that inevitably saved him. 

hickey is dehumanizing billy and literally turning him into a piece of meat. but even still, hickey refuses to butcher billy’s body himself. you could interpret that several ways, but I believe that at least part of that is due to him still caring about billy somewhere inside himself. hickey believes, at his core, that he is completely alone, and that drives him to throw away his humanity and become something greater. but he can’t do it. he tries for much of the show, but in the end, his failure is final.

JUST A RANT ABOUT WHY I LOVE KAWI SO MUCH AND WHY I LOVE THE WAY PISAENG LOVES HIM

CAN WE TALK ABOUT PISAENG THANKING KAWI FOR OPENING HIS HEART TO HIM FOR A SECOND.

PISAENG TRULY BELIEVES THAT LOVING KAWI IS A PRIVILEGE. BECAUSE HE SEES RIGHT THROUGH KAWI.

YES, KAWI IS NOT PERFECT BECAUSE WHO ACTUALLY IS??? BUT HE'S AN AMAZING PERSON. WITH ALL HIS FLAWS, ALL HIS WRONGS, ALL HIS PROBLEMS HE IS A WONDERFUL HUMAN.

HE CARES ABOUT PEOPLE, HE TRIES NOT TO HURT ANYONE, HE IS AN AMAZING FRIEND AND AN AMAZING SON.

IN ALL HIS TRAVELS BACK IN THE TIME HE ALWAYS TRIED TO MAKE THE DECISIONS THAT WOULDN'T HURT ANYONE. HE TRIED SO HARD TO MAKE SURE THAT PISAENG HE DOESN'T HURT PISAENG, HE TRIED SO HARD SO PEAR DOESN'T GET HURT IN ANY POSSIBLE TIMELINE.

HE ALWAYS SAW GOOD IN PEOPLE WHO DID NOT DESERVE IT AT ALL.

HE FAILED AGAIN AND AGAIN IN SO MANY THINGS BUT HE NEVER GAVE UP. HE ALWAYS DID HIS BEST. HE TRIED AND STILL TRIES TO BE HIS BEST SELF.

HE IS SOMEONE WHO TRULY DESERVES HAPPINESS AND ALL THE GOOD THINGS IN THIS WORLD.

AND I AM SO GLAD THAT PISAENG SAW ALL THIS THINGS ABOUT HIM TOO. HE FELL IN LOVE WITH THIS MESSY HUMAN BEING WHO'S LIFE WAS TOO COMPLICATED EVEN FOR HIMSELF MOST OF THE TIME.

WITH ALL HIS PAINS AND HEARTBREAKS AND REGRETS KAWI WAS ALWAYS THIS CUTE AND WONDERFUL BOY THAT PISAENG WAS FASCINATED BY SINCE THE DAY THEY MET. EVEN AFTER EVERYTHING KAWI WENT THROUGH AND UNINTENTIONALLY PUT PISAENG THROUGH KAWI WAS THE BOY PISAENG WAS IN LOVE WITH. EVEN AFTER YEARS HIS HEART BELONGED TO KAWI ONLY.

AND KAWI COULD BE THE ONLY PERSON IN THIS WORLD THAT DESERVES A LOVE LIKE THAT AND TO BE LOVED LIKE THAT.
