Fic Writer Tag Game
@raisingcain-onceagain tagged me.
AO3 name: Kanonkita
Fandoms: Transformers and MDZS/CQL/The Untamed
Number of fics: I have 19 works, but if you count each of my series as one fic, then I only have 13.
Fic I spent the most time on: Um, that’s probably a close toss-up between my humanformers Aligned/IDW mashup AU Failing and Flying (which is the name of a series as well as an individual fic within that series) or my rewrite of @doomspoon888‘s Of Flesh and Metal series. I started writing Failing and Flying in May of 2017 and Of Flesh and Metal in August of that same year.
Fic I spent the least time on: My Hollow Kingdom crossover/gaylation that I just finished up earlier this week.
Longest fic: Of Flesh and Metal (188,843 words)
Shortest fic: Stardust, which is just a series of song-inspired Megastar drabbles and clocks in at 1,555 words.
Most hits: Of Flesh and Metal (15,440 at the moment)
Most kudos: Of Flesh and Metal again with 819, but A Bundle of Sky is closing in fast with 809.
Most comment threads: A Bundle of Sky wins by a nose with 347 to OFAM’s 345.
Favourite fic I’ve written: Oh, that’s a hard one. Again, it’s probably a tossup between Bundle of Sky and OFAM.
Fic you want to rewrite/expand on: Gads, I always intended to go back and expand upon Drawing Parallels. I have a whole fic outlined for Megatron in Functionist Universe.
Share a bit of a WIP or a story idea you’re planning on: So, I just finished my Transformers/Hollow Kingdom crossover, and now I’m working on a Wangxian MDZS/By These Ten Bones crossover. By These Ten Bones is a book by the same person who wrote Hollow Kingdom and is... absolutely PERFECT as a Wangxian crossover. It’s about a girl in a rural Scottish village who falls in love with a boy only to realize he’s possessed by the demon that’s been terrorizing her village. Great read if you can ignore the strong Christian themes.
This crossover is going to be a bit less directly gaylated than the Hollow Kingdom one was, in large part because I’m completely shifting the setting from medieval Scotland to fantasy Zhou dynasty-ish China and pulling out all the Christianity, but yeah. I’m excited about it. Prologue below the cut if you’re interested.
And now for tagging... Um... @doomspoon888 @perictione @sunderedstar @trinarysuns @blushlouise
“Best if you was dead.”
The two of them sat at a small fire far away from dwellings, and the night was cold. Trees creaked and rustled in the darkness, unseen and alarming. The man was older than the boy’s own parents, with tough skin and greasy gray hair. He wiped streaming eyes on his sleeve and threw a stick onto the fire with savage ferocity, sending up a shower of sparks. “Best if you was dead and with your folks,” he sobbed. “You’d beg me if you knew.”
The little boy stared into the flames, his face white and pinched. He didn’t know what he was doing there. He didn’t know who the man was. His life had become a terrifying riddle, and he was too young to make sense of it all.
“It’s the only kind thing,” insisted the man brokenly. “But I ain’t got the guts. You’d kill me. I don’t know how, but you’d do it. You’re a demon now, that’s what you be, and I got to keep you alive.”
The child huddled in a tunic that was much too big for him. Faint stains marked his arms and hands. They hadn’t cleaned it all off. Black lines under his fingernails. Blood looked black at night. He raised frightened brown eyes to the man.
“Nay, don’t look on me!” was the frenzied response. “I can’t bear it, I tell you! You’re cursed now, understand me? Don’t look on no one again. Don’t be getting fond of me because I keeps you, neither. You’re the kind that kills them they love.”
The wind rose, flattening the lonely little fire and whipping the invisible branches of the trees. Wet leaves stirred and flopped on the ground, too heavy to fly away. The boy wrapped his thin arms around himself and tried to understand. How could I kill anyone? He wanted to ask. I didn’t kill them. I saw what did. But he wasn’t supposed to speak.
“Don’t tell me about ‘em. Not a word. I don’t want to know. I can’t change nothing. I can’t help ‘em now. Don’t cry for ‘em, neither, hear me? Don’t go whimpering after your dam.” The man collapsed, weeping noisily onto his soiled and bloody fists.
But the little boy didn’t cry for his mother. He didn’t shed a tear. He was in such pain of so many different kinds that he felt only bewildered surprise. In one hand, he held his grandfather’s carving tools in their beautiful leather holder and in the other a black flute, clutching the solid forms close against the torment that he felt. Only one thing was clear to him in the whirling chaos of his life. Yesterday they had belonged to his father. Today they were his.

Can I have a matchup? I am a 5’5 female with dyed red hair, olive skin, and hazel eyes. I am a Libra and a slytherin! I like playing the ukulele, drawing, and listening to music. I have GAD and MDD though I try my best not to let it affect my life. I am very stubborn and a big ole’ goofball when you get to know me. I have glasses, and I wear hats a lot. I a, a very jumpy person (it’s really easy to scare me oof) I am the therapist friend in my friend group. Thanks!
I wasnt sure which fabdom you meant but ill go with bnha
I ship you Tamaki Amajiki
So Libra and Cancer go pretty well together
Libra seeks partnership, and Cancer aims to create a secure home -- if there's timing, a commitment between them ensues. What bonds them is a shared desire for a harmonious home life. Libra's fixation on the relationship eases the insecurities of the Crab
He tries to help as much as possible with GAD and MDD.
He understands how bad anxiety feels like so he sympathizes with you a lot
But if your ever having a really bad day with your depression,
he gently hold you in his arms like your made of glass and kiss your forhead while whispering really cute little things like
"Remember that me and you are the lights at the end of each others tunnels"
Just to remind you, that both of have each others backs in everything
And it you every cut yourself
He would first cry
He doesnt wanna see you sad or in pain
So he'll calm down as much as possible and clean your cuts
He kisses each and every one
Then he picks you up and cuddles you while puting on some music
He wouldnt let go for like hours
For the next week more likely
Just so he knows your safe
He would then do some researcg
Tries to find a good coping mechanism for you
Such as drawing a little picture on yourself whever you want to cut
Or the initials of someone you care about
They both help
Trust me
Because of both your anxieties you spend most dates indoors.
He would totally try to get you to play ukulele for him
Music from you just seems much more calming
Even more so if you wrote the song youself
And if you wrote a song for him
He would die happy
He'll watch you draw.
Not in a weird way.
More a "omg my partner is amazing, how am I dating that?!"
He loves looking through your sketches too
Praises each and every one
Even the ones you hate
Both of you set a day of the week both of you meet at lunch
Usually outside were its quiet
Share headphones and enjoy your lunch in eachothers company
Both have a playlist of both your favourite songs
Its very zen for each of you
Both of you are always in good moods after that
He loves your goofy nature too
Never fails to make him smile
Though because your easily scared he tries to not sneak up on you
Though its a little difficult cause he's such a little nervous baby
If he ever scares you he will immediately apologise
Starts think of 9000000 ways to make it up to you
He knows how you act as a therapist to your friends
So he tries to help you instead
Because WHERE IS YOURS?!!
Its ok
You have tamaki to save the day
Lets you ramble about anything while cuddling
Lets you get it all off your chest
Because everyone needs time to vent
He tries not to vent to you too often
Usually turning to mirio
But sometimes when it gets really bad
Or if he sees your the only logical person he can go to
He'll first ask to make sure your ok with it
Let you cradle him for a change
Makes him feel safe and protected and he loves it
He almost finds it inspiring how stubborn you are
Refusing to let any of you mental health problems affect you day must mean you are extremely strong
He really looks up to you
But he still watches you carefully to make sure your not suppressing it so much it will come back and bite you one day
Basically everyone just thinks your both the most adorable pair
Each of you look out for the other
Very balanced give and take relationship
And everyone loves it.

I’ve just been to see ‘Beauty And The Beast’, the live-action adaptation of the 1991 Walt Disney classic animation. This movie hit me so hard that I just had to write a review about it. That’s what I do with art, media and entertainment I’m passionate about because I like to express myself on what I like or didn’t like about it thoroughly, letting you get to know what makes me tick (pun intended).
I shall start off by explaining the theme of the movie. Of course it’s a live-action remake of the original musical, but you see, it didn’t just stay true to that. While watching the movie, the story arc and musical numbers we all know and love give you nostalgia and bring to you the enjoyment you felt as a fan of the original. But furthermore, it also renews it with a more well thought out and complicated storyline, as well as new songs written by the original composer Alan Menken, with additional collaboration from Howard Ashman and Tim Rice. These additions to the theme of the movie really give the story a massive lift and will inspire and trigger emotion in you the likes the original never could. It will show you how powerful love, forgiveness, kindness and compassion really are and how they effect and change the human mind, heart and soul. This is what captured my attention and made me cry TWICE, as well as had me laughing and smiling with pure joy while watching the story unfold and come to it’s conclusion. It really makes you feel a lot and that’s extremely important to the overall intention of the movie. I will definitely be purchasing the soundtrack.
Now that’s been explained, we’ll get on to the characters and I guess we’ll start with Belle, since a large part of the targeted audience will be Emma Watson fans from the Harry Potter movies. I mean that’s the reason why I wanted to see it. Sure I’m a fan of the original movie but that wouldn’t be enough to make me pay to see a live-action remake of it. I was initially sceptical of Emma Watson being cast as Belle given that she’s a British actress and isn’t really known as a singer at all. Her acting performance was good once I was able to overlook her British accent but that was a given. I knew she’d portray Belle well as far as the acting went. It was the singing I was sceptical about. And you know what? She didn’t do half that bad. It sounded like she actually took some Classical singing lessons for the role. I’m sure it had a lot to do with the vocal production but I thought the singing was decent and she projected sufficiently, which did the character’s original voice, Paige O’Hara, justice. Her portrayal of Belle was not amazing but it was satisfactory.
Dan Stevens was cast as The Beast/Prince and he has a solo in the movie that sounded really great. His vocal performance was fantastic and very emotive and I enjoyed his singing immensely. His acting however, and I’m not too sure if this had something to do with the CGI animation of the character, seemed very stiff and stoic. I know that’s the point to begin with but even when The Beast warms up to Belle he still doesn’t showcase much expression. I didn’t feel it from him. I’m not sure he was the right person to cast for the role, but like I said, it could be more to do with the CGI animation. But I give him top notch props for the singing performances. He did really well there. One of the best vocal performances from the entire cast.
For the characters that get transformed into objects obviously it’s just voice-acting as they are completely computer-generated until the end of the movie. Particularly Ewan McGregor as Lumière stood out and was for me the best of the lot, although I thought they all did really well. His French accent was absolutely spot on and he had the most screen-time out of all of them to showcase it as much as possible. He really brought the charisma of the character to life both in voice-acting and singing. Being the main vocal for my favourite musical number out of the whole movie,‘Be Our Guest’, his delivery was exceptional. Emma Thompson as Mrs. Potts was also exceptional and there was a quote from her that I really loved. I can’t remember the exact wording but it was something like: “People get angry. It’s up to us whether we listen or not.” Wonderful one-liner there that I thought was very wise. As for her singing, she also had one of the best vocal performances with her solo ‘Tale As Old As Time’. The only voice-acting I had a problem with was Ian McKellen as Cogsworth, the antique clock. Mainly because, unlike the original character, there was no humour or sarcasm in his voice. His tone was dull and flat and that’s not how I remember Cogsworth at all. This is mostly the fault of the script-writing more so than it is of the voice-acting, however, even so the delivery was just not funny and there was no banter between Cogsworth and Lumière which is one of the reasons to love the original, so that was very disappointing to say the least. Everyone else though, the drawer, the harpsichord, chip the teacup and plummet could not be faulted. They were all incredible. I loved that the drawer was an Opera singer. I thought that was hilarious.
Josh Gad as Le Fou has an interesting character personality and evolution that was not in the original and it is brought forth with this actor. The writing for him was really good and he was the comic relief of the movie, without question, with his quirky little one-liners towards Gaston expressing his affection for him. You probably already know due to bad press that he is openly gay, therefore he showcases the theme of jealousy towards anyone who woos Gaston while Gaston is wooing Belle. But his character evolution is the most interesting part about him. I won’t spoil it for anyone who hasn’t seen the movie yet, but let’s just say, he eventually gives up on Gaston. Josh Gad’s singing was surprisingly good. You probably wonder why I’m saying that as he sings in Frozen portraying the role of Olaf the snowman and has his own solo. Well I never thought he was a very good singer in that movie so I am surprised to find hes vocals are a lot better in this one. There was a lot of humour and attitude in his vocal performances that I really enjoyed listening to and laughing at. He was all-around an excellent casting decision for ‘Beauty And The Beast’.
This next actor has the best acting and singing performance from the entire cast in my humble opinion. LUKE EVANS as Gaston. I could not tear my eyes away from him and that’s not just because the character is supposed to be gorgeous, which this time around, he definitely was. But he was completely convincing as Gaston, both as we know of him in the original, but even more so than that. His acting performance was so good that I really loved to hate the character. I really felt his villainous personality and wanted him to be defeated just as much as everyone else did. As for his singing and vocal performances - Faultless! Absolutely unbelievable. Strong and bold baritone was projected from him which made him even more intimidating and enrapturing. I just absolutely loved him. I cannot say enough about all the newness he brought to the character as well as portraying the original so precisely. I am going to be keeping my eye on Luke Evans in future roles. He blew me away.
I also want to talk about the directing and setting/costume designing. I really believed that it was set in the 18th century, which in England would be Victorian times. The costumes the characters wore, including headdress, steam-powered engines and weapons that are used throughout the movie allude to this. The directing made this very realistic and convincing and I really appreciated it because I love old-timey settings. Bill Condon is an incredible director so there’s no surprise the directing is this brilliant. The whole movie reminded me very much of Les Misérables, which coincidentally is also a musical, because of the setting/costume designing as well dark scenery and the melancholy vibe. There were some really upsetting scenes in this movie which is unusual for Disney, but nevertheless, will draw the adults in.
Finally, to wrap it up, I thought the movie was absolutely astounding and I will be going to see it again and maybe even more than that until the DVD releases. And like I said, I’ll be purchasing the soundtrack too because I want those new songs, especially the one Celine Dion did for it.
It’s a BIG 10/10.
Thanks for reading

New Post has been published on https://travelonlinetips.com/10-reasons-why-you-should-go-to-the-state-fair/
10 reasons why you should go to the state fair
Stop what you’re doing and find out when your state fair takes place. Once you find out what you’ve been missing, you’ll want to make sure you clear your schedule to attend! If you haven’t been taking part in the time-honored tradition of visiting a state fair, here are 10 reasons why you need to be at the next one.
1. Animals

Farm animals headline at state fairs, whether they’re being shown for a 4-H contest or housed in educational exhibits.  Those of us who haven’t had opportunities to visit farms or ranches will enjoy the experience of interacting with critters like cows, pigs, chickens, rabbits, goats, sheep and more.  You might even get to pet some adorable baby animals!
2. Calorie-packed food
While it might seem impossible, there actually are ways to eat healthy at the state fair.  But we’re not interested in that.  It’s not a true state fair experience unless you leave reeking of oil and clutching a grease-soaked bag of fried Oreos to-go.  Where else can you try a hot beef sundae, a Twinkie dog and any number of fried desserts all in one place?
Read more: Ranked: State fair foods that pack the most calories »
3. Crafts
From traditional arts and crafts to the more outside-the-box displays – like sand or butter sculptures – there is an amazing amount of handiwork to admire at the fair.  Peruse the booths, pick out a souvenir to take home, or watch in awe as craftspeople create right in front of you.
4. Cook-offs
Among the many contests occurring at state fairs are cook-offs.  You’ll find everything from the more conventional baking and chili competitions to the more bizarre like Goo Goo Clusters or Spam.

5. History

Annual state fairs have taken place in the United States since the 1800s, so many have long and storied histories that are worth exploring. It’s amazing to observe how state fair culture has changed over the years.

6. Eating contests

You might find eating contests to be an ill-mannered display, but it’s difficult to deny that this pastime is woven into the fabric of American culture.  And not all eating contests have to be as revolting to watch as the Nathan’s Hot Dog Eating Contest.
At state fairs, many of the competitions include children, dialing down the “eww” factor and cranking up the “aww.”  For instance, the Chug-a-Lug contest in Iowa, where kids see who can gulp down a glass of milk the fastest.

7. Music
Concerts at state fairs are getting bigger and better — Photo courtesy of E+/South_agency
Musical performances have long been a tradition at state fairs, but it seems that the concerts get bigger and better with each passing year.  Lineups are jam-packed with weeks of shows that highlight big names as well as up-and-coming musicians.
State fairs have also inspired many artists to relate their own views and experiences on the midway, making for a festive playlist that you can enjoy en route.

8. People
People-watching is an undeniably entertaining fair activity — Photo courtesy of iStock / Jacob Ammentorp Lund
One of the most fun things to at the state fair is completely free: people-watching.  You can find hours of entertainment just sitting back and taking it all in, with folks trying to figure out just how to eat a giant turkey leg gracefully, families making new memories and crowds laughing themselves silly on rides.
9. Recipe sharing

Food is a huge draw for fair-goers, and if you’re lucky, you might even be able to take home some recipes.  Many events across the country have cooking demonstrations where you can learn how to make select dishes.  And some cook-off winners are willing to share their recipes, allowing you to create award-winning items at home.

10. Rides
The Ferris wheel is perhaps the most iconic fair ride of them all — Photo courtesy of iStock / kamisoka
Of course, the rides are a huge attraction at state fairs.  There’s always something for everyone, whether you seek thrills on the Zipper, twisting-and-turning amusement on the Scrambler, or low-octane fun on a Ferris wheel.
