Momagers, Stage Mom's & Mama's Boys: The Dysfunctional Moon Child

Moon influenced people often come from households where they had a very dysfunctional relationship with their parents. Both parents are usually toxic but the Moon person forms a close, overly sympathetic and anxiously attached bond with one parent who they perceive as the victim or martyr in some way. (Dad's abusive or neglectful and mom's the one trying her best, for example).

WHY does this happen?

Moon is said to be the most Yin of the planets. It's passive, feminine and emotional.

Most of the time, these bonds are toxic because its overly protective, overly nurturing, controlling, overly caring as opposed to say Sun influence which will create bonds that are too independent and unattached (aka female friendships vs male friendships lol). Moon influenced parent-child bonds become toxic because there's TOO MUCH love, care and attachment and neither party can have a separate independent existence.

It's interesting to me how in most of these cases, the fathers were either absent or neglectful. These people grew up under the sole care of their mothers and it created an overly possessive, toxic, codependent bond. All of these people have spoken about how hard their mom's lives were and how they're grateful for everything their mothers did for them. This tendency of the Moon to make its natives be entirely sheltered from Yang or male influence or in some ways find Yang influence repulsive is very telling.

Similar to how Sun influenced people find it difficult to relate to or connect with Yin themes (like being clingy, attached, being nurturing in a traditional way, being openly loving etc) Moon influenced people struggle the most with detachment, letting go, independence etc. The extremes of both these can be unhealthy. It's important to learn how to be balanced and not give in to the tendencies that can harm both us and the people in our lives.

The Met Gala was last night and… I have mixed feelings on it. I liked the theme going in which seemed to be both a nature theme and a history of fashion thing, I thought it could both lead to some good looks but also make it easy for people to stay on theme so we didn't get the onslaught of, "NOT ON THEME" stuff, which I get and agree with but also is exhausting. Anyway, as pictures started coming in I was like, "Oh, that's nice". And that continued throughout the night, there was nothing awful and a lot of people looked very good but I heard disappointment from others and I got it. Everyone looked good but there was very little exciting going on. It was easy to stay on theme so a lot of stuff ended up as kind of lazy (and some people still managed to miss the theme, you know who you are). But I think the reason people are disappointed can be summed up like this, of all the celebrity fashion yesterday, hands down the most exciting and best look was Anya Taylor Joy and she wasn't at the Met Gala, she was in Mexico promoting a movie. That feels like a whiff for the Met Gala. Now again, a lot of people looked very good and I liked their looks so I wouldn't go that far but I do get why some people are disappointed. For me, there were a lot of people who looked good but it was hard to really choose a stand out. I think my two favorites were Lana Del Rey and Alia Bhatt and Lana made the cut because it is a bolder look but also she's a white American so day after it is just much, much easier to find decent pictures of her. Like celebrities who just wore a nice grown with a flower embroidered on it, I am very lazy. Today I want to fuck Lana Del Rey.

This caused endless worry for her fathers and Sara, though they were exceedingly proud of Aarti. She was always safe, until a reporting trip to Syria five years ago. While covering the drug epidemic there, Aarti and her crew were kidnapped and held hostage. When they got to the place where she would be held, the cameraman was shot and killed right before her very eyes. Those 18 horrific days in captivity left Aarti emotionally scarred. She wondered daily if she would make it out alive. When explosions rocked the compound, she thought her end had come. But the door swung open and a man in black fatigues saved her life, getting her to safety amidst a hail of gunfire. In her darkest hour, he was her guardian angel.

Upon returning to the U.S., Aarti struggled with PTSD and sought counseling. Loud noises continued to trigger panic attacks. She now carried earplugs everywhere in case she needed it. Despite her best efforts to cope, unexpected loud noises like thunderstorms could still overwhelm her. At those times, she would desperately plug her ears and break down in tears. Needing a less stressful reporting job, she accepted a position at a Providence Peak news station four years ago. It was the fresh start she needed. Soon after, Sara followed suit. Now settled near her sister and young nephew, Aarti hoped time would dim the painful memories of captivity in Syria. Although the emotional scars remained, the support of family gave her strength to move forward.

On face-value, ROCKY AUR RANI KII PREM KAHAANI may come across as yet another prem kahaani from Dharma. After all, KJo has a penchant for love stories, which is evident in his choice of films as a storyteller. However, ROCKY AUR RANI KII PREM KAHAANI packs a lot more than Rocky and Rani’s romance in those [approx] 2.49 hours.

Now to the pertinent question: Does KJo get it right? Oh yes, he does. ROCKY AUR RANI KII PREM KAHAANI wins Round 1 by casting the right names for the pivotal characters, namely Rocky [Ranveer Singh], Rani [Alia Bhatt] and the three stalwarts [Dharmendra, Jaya Bachchan and Shabana Azmi]. Having said that, the real triumph lies in its storytelling, which surprises you at several points.

ROCKY AUR RANI KII PREM KAHAANI bears the stamp of an accomplished storyteller, with KJo avoiding the tried-and-tested rom-com template to move things. For instance, the integration of timeless tracks in the narrative is so refreshingly hatke. Also, the dramatic twist before ‘Dhindhora Baje Re’ and the heated argument that follows is brilliant.

The writing [Ishita Moitra, Shashank Khaitan, Sumit Roy] doesn’t fall prey to mediocrity at any stage. It encompasses drama, emotions and romance seamlessly. Would like to make a special mention of the dialogues [Ishita Moitra], which garnishes the sequences beautifully. DoP Manush Nandan creates some stunning frames and does complete justice to the scale.

On the whole, ROCKY AUR RANI KII PREM KAHAANI is a well-packaged entertainer that has ample merits to strike a chord with the youth as well as families. At the box-office, it has the potential to emerge a success story.

It's called Fleather, and it's a new material being developed as a sustainable alternative to animal leather. It is delicate and smooth to touch, like soft lamb skin leather, and its journey begins in an unexpected place – flowers.

Fleather, made by a Kanpur-based startup called Phool, is part of an emerging trend of companies producing plant- and fungi-based leather alternatives which aim to disrupt the traditional leather industry and capitalise on growing interest in "vegan" fashion.

Producing leather from animals poses several environmental hazards. It is energy- and water-intensive and the process of tanning and treating animal skin with chemicals to make leather releases toxic heavy metals that can poison water bodies. Cattle rearing to source animal skin, meanwhile, produces greenhouse gases and contributes to deforestation. Animal rights activists also condemn leather, citing inhumane conditions in slaughter houses.

Fleather, on the other hand, is made by repurposing floral waste generated in temples across India, and it is Phool's moonshot.

The startup's journey began on a cold winter morning in 2015, when Ankit Agarwal and his friend made their way to the bustling bank of the Ganges in Agarwal's hometown Kanpur for some sightseeing.

The Ganges is believed by Hindus to be the most sacred of all rivers. But the sight that greeted the duo belied this faith. Rubbish was floating on the grey, visibly-polluted water. Among the muck were tonnes of flowers – marigolds, roses and chrysanthemums – discarded by temples and worshippers. These flowers are used in Hindu rituals and are considered sacred, meaning they can't be disposed of along with other waste.

But depositing them in a river is sometimes part of the ritual and as a result flowers are dumped in water bodies daily where they leach out harmful chemicals from pesticides, and eventually decay into mulch that contaminates the water. Undeterred by the obvious pollution, devotees take ceremonial dips in the Ganges and cup their palms to take holy sips.

The sight disturbed Agarwal, and set him on a quest to find a solution to the uniquely Indian problem of temple flower waste, which he calls "the lowest hanging fruit" among pollutants. In 2017, he zeroed in on an idea to upcycle the flowers into incense sticks, and founded Phool ("flower" in Hindi).

The company is backed by the prestigious Indian Institute of Technology in Kanpur and counts Bollywood star Alia Bhatt among its investors. Every morning Phool trucks travelled around Kanpur's temples collecting the flower waste before it was dumped into the river. At the Phool factory, workers plucked the petals and set them to dry. The dried petals were then powdered and made into a dough with essential oils which female workers then rolled into incense sticks.

But it turned out that there was a far more impactful and surprising use for the flowers, as the company was soon to discover.

Mehh, what do you think you kesarya song ?? Do you like it?! And if, you do then why?

I like it. And specially, the cinematography and whole set. It's so pretty.it did justice to the beauty of varanasi,one of the oldest city . I am from Arunachal Pradesh ,India and never been to any other state of India except northeastern state (currently living in other state).I really wanna visit other states specially rajasthan (I have romanticize it so much in my head).my aunt recently visited jaipur on her vacation trip. It's so pretty.

I used to feel so disconnected with the rest of the country and I was never intrested in bollywood and never had as much desire to visit other state as I did for other countries. And, I used to consume other asian, American media a lot and felt more connected to them but since I moved to different state this year all alone(still living in north east)I don't know I start finding beauty which I didn't earlier and am starting to consume bollywood as well. And, I am starting to find intrest in ethnic wear, indian accessories (specially oxidised silver jewelries. I have a thing for them) ,rajashthani designs and south indian south indian golden -white saree(please, feel free to correct me if I am wrong, I don't have that much knowledge about the culture, I am sorry🥺).

And lastly, alia bhatt in yellow outfit reminds me of her frooti ad look but she looked great, though.

A: I kinda like it but it's not a great love song for me..I do like the Varanasi set up but again there are movies like "Massan" which started my fascination for banaras so watch that maybe .

I felt the same for the longest time cause u know you wanna keep up with ur friends and the pop culture but thn I discovered "Desi Dark Academia" and in starting it was just for pretty pictures and aesthetics but slowly I started falling in love with our culture and heritage and I also wanna visit every other state in India. I consider myself really lucky for being born in Rajasthan cause this is HOME and I can't explain the emotions behind it.

I really wish u can visit Rajasthan asap and other states too and it's okay if you do not know everything about someone's culture you can always ask and learn. Feel free to ask me about mine💖
