Video of the full process for my Targ dress, including the method I use to make very sturdy embroidered patches. Theoretically I could take these off and put them on a different dress or jacket if I wanted to!
Kinda looks like ass around the eyes and nose you can't even tell the eyes are stars bc I undid the white stitching cuz it looked bad and redid it with black and the fabric frayed but it's still really cool I love it
dressmaking and general likee. fashion craft tips for a girl in need? i crochet fairly well and used to cross stitch but really want to get more into fashion, especially making and altering clothes - if anyone knows any tips that would be wonderful
as much as i like graphic tees and yk displaying what i like talking about listening to and watching, i also dont like them because i dont want to be a 'walking advertisement' (for lack of better words) for companies.
i ask myself 'cant i just wear a plain tee with some decal i painted on?" and the answer is ofc yes but everything that is plain and sold now is like 20 dollars for this piece of fabric that's called a shirt but is too short and very form fitting and is also a 'one size fits all' type thing that really only fits skinny people.
and i think it should be more normal to thrift and sew your own clothes and flip things you find and wear your parents' old clothes and your friends' old clothes and i know its becoming more popular now and that just makes me SO happy to see that developments are happening and that luxury brands are not as popular now (at least in my friend groups and the groups of ppl im affiliated with)
Thrifted dress that I tailored to fit better, gave new buttons, and embroidered with some pieces inspired by House Targaryen from ASOIAF. I was really excited to find a 100% cotton corduroy dress at Goodwill, but it was a little big on me and needed new buttons, so I decided to go ahead and add some dragons while I was working on it lol
I was reading Fire and Blood when I started this project, but I also took inspiration from two of Rhaenyra's outfits on the House of the Dragon show, especially the one she wears when she's declared Heir to the Iron Throne in the pilot.
Found a little wooden car that reminded me of the Bentley and decided to bring it home and change it into one for my bookshelf. Do I add some plants? 🪴
