on another note, one has to appreciate the cruel irony of ep11′s reveal scene: thua’s outburst is a time-bomb unwittingly set by ayan. ayan told thua his voice matters and thua found his voice (in a kinda twisted way, but still). and if you think about it from thua’s perspective, the worst betrayal comes when ayan, the very same person who encouraged him to speak up, is the one trying to silence him.

#the eclipse #the eclipse spoilers #bocje: the eclipse meta and squee #I was thinking about how ep11!thua resembles early-series!ayan but that's not even it #early-series!ayan was giving akk a pass as early as ep1 #we can say he lost focus on his goals when he fell in love but he actually never aimed to call out akk on the curse thing even before #because that's what ayan is #he wants to *understand* and give people a second chance to do better #and I think that's where the difference between ayan and thua is #for all that he's pushy and at times highly intrusive (like did you really need to out thua to his mum?)#ayan is waiting for you in the middle #thua (though I might get this wrong because we see so little of his pov) maybe because he's 'younger' 'newer' at this #is seen dealing more in absolutes: he's all in it or he's not even there #he goes from not having a stance at all ('i don't like chaos') to being the chaos you want to see in the world #he's either BLANK FACE or FEELINGS ONSLAUGHT #and that's so telling of his discomfort but also shows how YOUNG he is when compared to ayan
