#TiananmenSquareMassacre #MilkTeaAlliance

In the past 30 years, Hongkongers had been holding Tiananmen vigil in the Victoria Park every 4th June, in memory of those who were killed in 1989 Tiananmen Square massacre.
This year, the police cited health reasons for prohibiting commemoration. Still, people went to the park and gathered in different place to honor the victims.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Once the National Security Law is enforced, the annual commemoration is very likely will be illegal in the future, since the CCP had a record of accusing people with different opinions as Endangering National Security.

#lefotografiechehannofattolastoria #accaddeoggi #tiananmensquare #tiananmensquaremassacre #china #repression #pernondimenticare #5giugno1989 https://www.instagram.com/p/CBCqrIuqV1e/?igshid=pb62tgmnm3w3

[Download this model for free, link in bio] 33 years ago, the Goddess of Democracy was constructed in Tiananmen Square to boost the morale of the pro-democracy demonstration there. The statue was promptly destroyed by the government, along with the lives of so many students who fought for freedom. The brutal regime responsible still reigns over China today, however, as the original creators of the Goddess declared: “… as a symbol of the people’s hearts, she is divine and inviolate… Erect the statue of the Goddess of Democracy in your millions of hearts! Long live the people! Long live freedom! Long live democracy!" Using archival photos, I tried to recreate the original sculpt as faithfully as possible. Until the Goddess finds her way back to the Square some day, there’s always 3D printing. 🕯 #tiananmensquare #democracy #goddess #china #hongkong #六四 #民主女神 #天安門 #goddessofdemocracy #tiananmensquaremassacre #3dmodeling #3dprinting #illustration #zbrush #digitalart https://www.instagram.com/p/CeYFAZGg-Es/?igshid=NGJjMDIxMWI=

29th Anniversary of the Tiananmen Square massacre of June 4, 1989 (I was born in Hong Kong 2 weeks later), the first and only democracy movement in China. I urge every parent in Hong Kong to educate their children on the truth, on what really happened, when we are stepping closer to it being erased completely from the educational syllabus, and from the history books. #1989 #198964 #4june #4june1989 #june4 #june4th #junefourth #junefourth1989 #tiananmen #tiananmensquare #tiananmensquaremassacre #democracy

From • @the_amateur_historian Several bodies of civilian protesters who were killed by the People's Liberation Army on June 4th, 1989 are shown with mangled bicycles in the aftermath of the military crackdown against the Tiananmen Square protests. . . . To dispose of the bodies of the many civilians who were killed in the Tiananmen Square massacre, PLA tanks and armoured vehicles simply ran over the bodies over and over again until they were turned into mush, and then the remains were incinerated and finally hosed down into drainages leading into the sewers of Beijing. Estimates of the number of people killed commonly range between around several hundred and several thousand. But secret diplomatic cables made by Sir Alan Donald, who at the time was the British ambassador to the People's Republic of China, alleged that over 10,000 may have lost their lives. __________________________ #coldwarera #coldwar #1989 #1980s #tiananmensquaremassacre #tankman #tiananmensquare #tiananmensquareprotests #china #chinese #peoplesliberationarmy #chinesehistory #war #history #historical #historic #warhistory #warphotography #historiansunion #united_historians #warphotos #combat #soldiers #historybuff #historynerd #youcannotcensorhistory #stopcensoringopposingviews #historiansunite https://www.instagram.com/p/CEJRAhZpz1lUDk7eIUlgHS1t7SgGhw9C17Azzw0/?igshid=18qm3a3atmq4m

Today is the 31st anniversary of the #tiananmensquaremassacre & day 10 of the #georgefloyd protests. In #1989, death of pro-reform Communist leader Hu Yaobang in post-Mao China, led to #tiananmen protests as incomplete reform policies led to inequality - something not too different from today's #society The one-party political system was challenged alongside inflation, corruption, little future for graduates and restrictions on political freedom. University students called for greater accountability, #democracy, freedom of press and speech. As many as 1 million people assembled in the Square. While party leader Zhao Ziyang pushed for dialogue with students, Li Peng & Jiang Zemin engaged in censorship, declared martial law and backed military action against the people. Classified archives by the #UK govt revealed the People's Liberation Army (PLA) were ordered to "spare no-one". They used special bullets that expanded when pierced into flesh, automatic weapons and armored vehicles to carry out mass killings in Beijing. Students linked arms but were mown down by amored military vehicles which repeatedly ran over bodies to make "pie". Remains collected by bulldozers were incinerated to get rid of evidence. At least 10,000 people - civilians, medics, local and Western journalists, were brutally murdered. Official records state only 300 people were killed so go figure on the #coronavirus statistics from #China George Perry Floyd was a 46-year -old who moved to Minnesota from Texas to start afresh. He worked on shifts in the same club as the police officer Derek Michael Chauvin who killed him. Activist @drcornel.west said in 2016: #Obama thrives on being in the middle. He has no backbone to fight for who spent his life in. Whatever solidarity he does offer is just lip-service" #blacklivesmatter movement started in 2013 when 17 yr old Trayvon Benjamin Martin was fatally shot. Obama came into office from 2009-2017. I'd like to end with a quote from democracy advocate & Nobel Peace Prize winner #Liuxiaobo who spent most of his life incarcerated by the Chinese Communist Party “I have no enemies, and no hatred." 🌿🕊️ #UnlikelyYou #editorial #newworldorder https://www.instagram.com/p/CBBN-EhBQnc/?igshid=ednmfoolaocp
