Trapped: a horror fanzine
Hello! I'm organizing a fanzine for Qiye/Lord Seventh, Tianyake/Faraway Wanderers, and Word of Honor, and contributor applications are still open until August 30th!
The zine’s theme is horror, and it’s an 18+ zine. We’re going to have fics and artworks centered on multiple characters, not just Zhou Zishu, Wen Kexing, Wu Xi, and Jing Beiyuan.
We’re looking for writers and artists (no merch artists for this project), so if you’re interested, you can find all the details on the zine’s carrd, where the application forms are linked. I’ve linked them below too!
If anyone has any questions, you can ask me on here if you’re not on Twitter, which is where we’re running the zine :)
Application forms:

New Year Joint Special Project - Armory
This is one set in a collaborative series of six among five fig makers that were designed for the Lunar New Year 2022.
This project launched on February 22, 2022, and if you ordered during the early bird period, you would get a piece of a magnet which formed part of a larger piece of art. If you got all 6 magnets, you could complete the whole art piece.
The collaboration was 4 Wenzhou sets and 2 Junzhe sets. The 4 Wenzhou ones are shown below:
The sets were teased with these silhouetted pictures. Amazing, aren't they?
This collaboration is actually directly responsible for my fig obsession. Until this project, I didn't know until then that there were this many fig sellers, and that there was an active community making them. I had previously thought they were just a few one-offs that had been made.
The full name of this fig set is:
陪君醉 三万场 从此不言离殇
I’ll get drunk with you thirty thousand times, and we’ll no longer need sad farewells*
Which is a lyric from Word of Honor's main theme song, Tianyake, sung by Zhang Zhehan and Gong Jun. Very apropo.
The two figs are separate from the base, and can be removed and placed however you like.
The tears in Lao Wen's eyes! The shocked and horrified look on A-Xu's dear little face! I love it and hate it at the same time.
I appreciate that A-Xu doesn't have his hairpin in his little bun here, because of course he doesn't.
The careful spread of their robes behind them definitely echos the scene.
A little hidden detail is their crossed legs under their robes. They're even sitting a little differently than each other. How cute!
Here's a separate shot of the base/platform. It even has the symbols from the Combined Six Cultivation Method that swirl around them during the technique on it.
The box card insert got a little mangled in transit, but it's still very sweet:
The art picture that makes up the pieces of the magnet is in a cute chibi cartoon style, stylized similarly to the little figs in theme.
That being said, fair warning, the magnet for this set is very, very mildly NSFW. Like 1 chili pepper on a 5 chili pepper scale. It is a shirtless little chibi Wenzhou sweetly embracing and kissing each other in a bed in Siji Manor.
That being said, I'll keep the magnet picture below a line of stars, so those of you that prefer to not have it show up on your phone / computer don't get put in an awkward position.
Material: PVC
Fig Count: 37
Diorama Count: 4
Snowglobe Count: 1
Rating: No matter how boundless the world is, if you’re there, I’ll be there too*
*Tian Ya Ke song translation is from 青Cee, located here: https://youtu.be/UIgnDX5wcno Check it out, it's beautiful.

Alright, intrepid figthusiasts! It's time for some smooching chibis:
*******************************************************************
I will note that when this fig set was delivered to the warehouse in China, the intake pictures they took did not show the magnet being included in the package. So I had to ask customer service to go have the warehouse search the package and see if it was included after all. Go figure it would be the ONE mildly spicy magnet in the series! Sorry, warehouse workers, but thank you for finding my magnet!
The same Combined Six Cultivation Method symbols are swirling around them, I assume implying some dual cultivation going on here. The little details with the juzipi under the bed (they show up in each magnet scene) and the Siji Manor scroll are really cute.

Wooh! Just read 2 chapters fast (well fast for me)!
Noticing: 1. Feels as easy as tutudawang now surprisingly. 2. I now realize why thus author is easier than priest - they use some big sentence constructions and clauses requiring grammar understanding, and use some idioms, but overall stick to the same descriptive terms over and over without too much huge variation so once you're used to them then you're used to most of them. Making the hardest parts just new nouns when locations change, and noticing the actual reading challenges of a supernatural piece where sometimes a scene goes from real to dream or a man appears then disappears and you need to read clearly so you catch the change happening. Whereas priest does these things too, but ALSO just uses a fuck ton more descriptive terms... in terms of number of unique words priest just uses a lot more specific architecture words, foliage words, economic words, just a lot more Specific nouns and adjectives on specific topics when going into description of things. On the upside, I think priests novels (at least modu and zhenhun and tianyake) are manageable to follow the plot without knowing those additional specific sibject words. But those words do give you a Lot More unknown unique words to contend with, meaning the difficulty of that never really gets easier (at least until you've read a Lot of priest I imagine). Where as this author, you read as much of then as I've read (like 200 chapters wow) and the only truly unfamiliar looking stuff tends to be nouns, but they're isolated enough they're guessable in context.
Truly though I'm enjoying so much this.
The reading speed and comprehension improvement is. So fun. This now feels like reading Frankenstein at age 14 or Dracula at 15. This feels like english just a bit higher than my reading level vibe.
And now lol like english, the reading speed improvement is battling with my adhd saying don't focus more than 2 paragraphs before u need to distract and switch tasks ToT. So for my benefit I should probably fucking go back to reading with audio so I HAVE to focus on just reading until the audio finishes.

English translations of Faraway Wanderers / 天涯客 by Priest
I would love to be able to read 天涯客 by Priest but my level of Chinese is pretty limited on the reading side. While I speak well enough, it will be challenging for me to reach a level to read and appreciate the story well in its original form. Luckily we have wonderful fans out there who have translated the story. I managed to find fellow fans from the WOH Reddit channel who directed me to the right sources.
There are quite a few translations already out there so I have listed all the ones that I have managed to find, the first two by Xuxunette which goes all the way to Chapter 68 so far (she is still translating) but if you are in a rush to finish, you will also find them at Chichilations who was commissioned to translate Chapters 68 to the end. Reason that I could make out behind it is there was the first 30 chapters translated by Sparkling Waters whereby the following chapter 31 - 67 were kindly completed by a translator who goes by Wen BuXing (the files are owned by WBX but I do not know if this person did the translation).
Here are the links:
