So I had a thought. Seamus Finnegan. His mams a witch.
WHERE IS SHE!?!?
SHES NOT TALKED ABOUT BY THE MARAUDERS FANDOM!! AND SEAMUS IS IRISH SO I HAVE TO ASSUME THAT HIS MUM IS ALSO, SO SHE SHOULD'VE GONE TO HOGWARTS!!
So heres my proposal; Tillie Finnegan.
Seamus' dad took her last name. She was a Hufflepuff in the year below The Marauders. She was dormmates with Emmeline Vance and Amelia Bones (I also headcanon them as Hufflepuff's in The Skittles year)

A little while back you did piercing hcs for the marauders and co could you do that with tattoos? 😁
Oh babes, absolutely! I love this idea and boyyyy do I have Thoughts about this
So sorry this took so long! I had to work on it in between back to back shifts at work. Let me know what you think of these!
Tattoos & Styles I HC The Marauders & Co With (and this time someone asked for my brain rot!)
James
Okay, so James is definitely a pincushion. He absolutely let Sirius use him as a practice mannequin when they were first learning how to tattoo so he’s covered in varying different tattoos of different styles and skill level. I think James has kinda always been covered in Sirius’ art, bc he absolutely let Sirius draw on him during class. So when ink pens turned to tattoo guns, James and his zero fear of permanence didn’t bat an eye at being used as a practice dummy.
On his right forearm, he has a matching tattoo with the Marauders. It’s a stag’s head, with a rat sitting on it, the Sirius constellation between the antlers, and a halfmoon behind it.
On his right bicep, he has a half sleeve. I HC James as Desi and Hindu, and that tattoo is a Mehndi design James created with an elephant in the foreground. He had Sirius do it, ofc, and it took like 4-6 sessions to get it done because Sirius was absolutely fixated on making sure it was perfect
Regulus gives him a stick and poke (like a legit one, not an ink pen insert and a needle one) and it’s of a stag with a cat playing in its antlers. It’s on the inside of James’ right ankle. He’s constantly pestering Regulus about doing more
When Effie and Monty pass (of very very old age and only that of course), James has Sirius create a memorial piece for them. They incorporate a lot of meaningful things in it for James; one of Effie’s own Mehndi designs, a crow (the messenger between the lands of living and dead as well as Effie’s favourite animal), Monty’s favourite book quote written in Punjabi, and a bunch of little symbols that represent them both. James and Sirius both sobbed through that entire tattoo. It rests right on top of James’ heart and spans most the left side of his chest
James is kind of a mess of different styles and skill levels, and is basically just covered in a bunch of small tattoos. He collects one on every holiday, pretty much any time Sirius is bored, or whenever something significant in his life happens. He’s just a living sticker book of art, basically
Marlene, Pete, and James each have their childhood house numbers tattooed on the inside of their left wrists. James’ is 421
Sirius
Sirius still has their runic tattoos and the chest tattoo, because I cannot physically make those not a thing. I love them so much
Down the back of their left arm, they have the cycles of the moon
Paw prints of a wolf and a dog, everywhere. Side by side down their spine, around their runic tattoos, down the side of their legs, etc.
Banding. There’s so much banding. Esp on their forearms! From super thin to super thick banding, it’s all over Sirius’ body. They have one set of banding that goes around their waist and it drives Remus crazy
Magic tattoo or not, Sirius absolutely has the Marauder’s Map footsteps all over them
Obviously they have the Marauders Tattoo too. It’s on the right side of their ribcage.
I think a lot of Sirius’ tattoos that they didn’t do themselves are runic. Protection runes, mostly, but all kinds of different runes in multiple runic languages (I HC Sirius as being a total Ancient Runes nerd)
All the tattoos Sirius did do on themselves are more like doodles than actual tattoos. Something popped in their head, they had time to spare, so they did it real quick. There’s not a lot of thought behind those ones
There are a bunch that are representative of the people in their life, though. Like they’ve got Regulus’ constellation, Alphard’s constellation, Andy’s constellation. They’ve got rat paw prints and deer hoof prints, James’ quidditch/footie/lacrosse jersey number, chess pieces with whiskers or a tail, chocolates stacked on top of books, etc.
They’ve got their own kind of memorial tattoo for Effie and Monty (they didn’t feel like they could use Effie’s Mehndi design because they’re not Hindu and there was a lot of guilt and stuff they needed to deal with before they could even bring themselves to do the memorial tattoo and James was ready to lose his mind because when his mum said that Sirius was her child no matter what, she didn’t mean that they were only her child if they became Hindu themselves. There were lots of conversations about that)
There really isn’t much open space on Sirius’ body lmao they just constantly tattoo over things and all sorts of chaos
Remus
Where Sirius is very chaotic with their tattoos, Remus is very methodical. It’s not that his tattoos can be read like a book or anything, he just puts a lot of thought into his tattoos. He dedicates limbs and areas of his body to certain things. He doesn’t just get an idea and slap it somewhere. It might be a control thing, it might not be, who knows. It’s just the way he does things
Has the Marauder tattoo on his left thigh
You know the chest tattoos with the hands? Remus has one, except the left hand is holding a can of petrol and the right one is holding a zippo
Remus’ right sleeve is almost patchwork, but it’s like a blended patchwork? I’m not sure how to describe what I think of when I think of his right sleeve, but basically, it’s a significance piece. His right sleeve is basically the places in his life that have left an impact on him. The house in Wales where he grew up, the fork his Mam swore up and down was lucky, the couches in the Gryffindor common room, and the brickwork fireplace. Candles from the Great Hall float all around his arm, the spot James showed him behind the Quidditch bleachers where he carved his name into the wood when he was high, the broken piano in the Shack that Sirius always tried to play, the door number to Sirius’ and his first flat, the uneven second hand kitchen table with tea cups on it they put in their kitchen. The castle itself. The forest. Everywhere that makes an impact on Remus’ life gets immortalised on his arm.
I am a firm believer that Remus would refuse to get anything wolf/dog related inked, but you bet he has stars all over. Sirius’ constellation is tattooed over his heart
I’m also a huge believer that Remus is a classics nerd, so his left side is dedicated to classic mythos and literature references. He’s got gods and goddesses and stories inked into his skin like it’s his arm that tells their stories, not the books themselves. He’s got Hades and Persephone reaching for each other between the worlds, Orpheus and Eurydice, and Achilles, Patroclus and the Trojan Horse. He and Regulus have a whole geek out when they realise they each have a mythos tattoo
Similarly to his mythos sleeve, I think Remus, especially growing up in Wales and with Hope as his Mam, give off big mythological creature nerd vibes (excluding werewolves, obvi). Like you cannot tell me that little bitty Remus Lupin was not a dinosaur kid. So his right leg is all mythological creatures. Kind of on theme with his sleeve, a lot of them are Greek, like Chimera, Pegasus, and a Sphinx. But he also has an Afanc, Tylwyth Teg (Welsh interpretation of Fae/Faeries), and an Adar Llwch Gwin (a griffin-type of bird, with the head and wings of an eagle and of a cat)
His left leg is sort of open, it’s where he puts things that don’t really have a “place” or when he runs out of space on his sleeves
Peter
Marlene, Pete, and James each have their childhood house numbers tattooed on the inside of their left wrists. Pete’s is 439.
Has the matching Marauder’s tattoo with James, Sirius, and Remus on his left bicep
He’s not necessarily opposed to getting more tattoos, but he pretty much just gets them with his friends. He feels like he’s too indecisive to just get one
Marlene
Marlene’s tattoos are chaos. There’s no rhyme, reason, or order to them. They could be super meaningful or they could be a rabbit wearing a fancy suit with a top hat balancing on a unicycle and frogs stuffed in the pockets (that one’s on her left thigh. she has no recollection of when or where she got it)
She has identical outline of cats around both of her nipples because she thought it’d be hilarious to have a “titty tat of a kitty cat!”…I’ll give you three guesses as to who did that for her and the first two don’t count.
Marlene, Pete, and James each have their childhood house numbers tattooed on the inside of their left wrists. Marlene’s is 465.
Marlene is the kind of person to walk into a shop and go “I have £100, what will that get me”. Her body is hers to decorate and she’s doing it with a fuck ton of permanent stickers
She has a matching tramp stamp with Evan, Barty, Dorcas and Tillie. It’s the absolute worst thing she has tattooed on her and she adores it.
She’s really just covered in flash work. There’s some traditional tattoos, with old school card suits and flowers on her shoulder. There’s neotraditional pieces, with the overlapping sun and moon on her hip. There’s lots of fineline, a dragon wrapping around a bouquet of poisonous flowers on her sternum. There’s a wacky sort of tribal/geometric half sleeve on her right calf. She’s got fun little watercolour pieces decorating her arms. She’s got a blackwork geometric piece that goes around her stomach that’s all negative space and shading details and no one can agree one what everything is or isn’t (she won’t tell anyone the answers either).
She has a very tiny snake and lion behind each of her ears
She has a mandala tattoo that goes across the back of her head, but you can only see it when she has an undercut in her hair
Mary
Mary is a fun one. She’s definitely a tattoo fiend, but while she’s not methodical like Remus and Regulus are, she’s not chaotic like Barty and Marlene are with them.
She’s got a lot of different things, a bunch of muggle references, a lot of Wizarding references
Couple of fun floral pieces
Something about Mary just screams “forest” piece to me. I think she’s got a sleeve that’s all themed after the Forbidden Forest and it’s all done in realism. Very spooky but also very beautiful
Not to make this heartbreaking, but if canon compliant Mary got one tattoo before she obliviated herself, I think she would have gotten a tattoo of Hogwarts with a compass, because even though Hogwarts was the source of her trauma and pain, a part of her would always feel at home there. So when she knew she was going to obliviate herself, she got herself something to find home with, should she ever need it
Solar System. Mary strikes me as a closeted Astronomy and astrology nerd. I think she’s got a solar system tattoo, straight down her spine, and a galaxy tattoo on her ribs, and then maybe the astrology signs somewhere?
Matching butterfly tattoo with Lily, Mary’s is a Monarch
Lily
Lily, loml, she’s a watercolour babe 10000%
She doesn’t have a ton of pieces, but she gets a few every now and again
Fineline watercolour girlie for sureeee and we love her for it
She says she doesn’t like floral pieces, but she has one on her sternum, however it absolutely does NOT have lilies in it
Miss Girl absolutely has one of those fineline tattoos with the stack of books with a tea cup on top of them and the steam looks like magic, you know the ones I’m talking about? And it’s like in her inner forearm right by her elbow
Has a matching butterfly tattoo with Mary, Lily’s is a Swallowtail
Regulus
Has a bottom lip tattoo that says “CUNT”. It was his first tattoo and his second ever act of rebellion against his parents (his first being his nipple piercings). Barty came up with the idea to have them all write down a word and then pick it out of a hat and that’s what they’d get tattooed. Barty and Evan could not stop laughing when Regulus pulled out his.
Regulus is very similar to Remus in a way. His tattoos are all very organised and thought out, minus a few impulse ones with his friends or Sirius and the Marauders
Regulus really favours abstract, geo, and blackwork styles, with a bit of fineline influence in some pieces. He doesn’t have a single colour tattoo, strictly black and grey.
His left arm is all bold lines, sharp angles, heavy black work, and lots of negative space. He got it right after he got unofficially disowned, used the bank account his parents cut him off from as a last “fuck you” to them and it kind of represents his inner turmoil during that time of his life. He did the sleeve in one session, it took 13.5 hours and his artist took more breaks than he did. If that gives you an idea of how his mental state was at the time
His right arm is lighter, less harsh lines and negative space, more open linework. Lots of geometric patterns that feed into each other shoulder to wrist. There’s still some inverted shading and negative work, but for the most part, it’s fairly open. There’s a lot more diversity in his right sleeve than his left, stacks of shapes and a bunch of 3D shading, the linework seems to twist and turn with his arm, rather than go against the grain of his body like his left does.
His chest piece is his absolute favourite of all his tattoos. He and Barty started on it almost immediately after he got the all clear from Drs/Healers after his top surgery. The tattoo is of a Boomslang snake, and it weaves in and out of his surgery scars like it’s entering and exiting his body from under his skin. It slithers all the way around his chest, ribs, and back, before it curls over his shoulder and it’s head comes right to his heart. It’s jaws are open, and it looks like it’s striking at his heart. Throughout the scales, the use of heavy blackwork and negative space carves out the words “Le monstre n'a pas peur de ce qu'il deviendra” or “the monster does not fear what it will become”. It was one of the most painful tattoos Regulus has, because his top surgery scars were still healing, but the tattoo and the fact that it was Barty who did it made it so incredibly worth it
His left leg has a full sleeve on it, and it’s super dope. The whole sleeve is based off of animals with magical or supernatural tales about them. The sleeve is almost done like a totem pole, but the faces are done half in geometrics and half in inverted shading. He has a fox, a coyote, a cat, a vulture, and a bat
His right leg is where all of his impulse tattoos go. Or where he lets Barty and Sirius practice. There’s a lot of small pieces and some larger ones. Sirius did a piece on his thigh that’s a realistic portrait of a lion, except the Regulus constellation covers it’s chest. Barty did another piece with a dog and the Sirius constellation on his calf.
He has a tattoo of Icarus with his wings melting and falling from the sky on the right side of his rib cage
He wants to do a back piece and fill in his torso at some point. Give him 3-5 years to make up his mind and not over think it lmfao
Barty
Blackwork. So. Much. Blackwork.
If he’s got tattoos in a magical fic, his entire left forearm is a blackout. Then the rest of that sleeve is an inverted sleeve with negative space
Has a snake that starts on his sternum, wraps around his neck, under his right arm, over his shoulder and ends on his chest. Done in blackwork style also
His right sleeve is a bit of a mashup. He’s got some blackwork and negative space, but also a bit of fineline work.
He has a neck and face tattoo. It’s on the left side, and it starts near where his shoulder meets his neck then goes up his neck, and around his head and ear. It’s a rose bush. (If it’s a magical tattoo, the different coloured roses bloom and close at different times depending on Evan’s moods)
On his right hipbone, Evan tattooed “ROSY” on him
He has a galaxy and constellation tattoo on his left thigh, it’s the only other coloured tattoo he has besides his rose bush one. He got it for Regulus when he officially changed his name after coming out as trans
His legs are full of small tattoos he did himself. He started tattooing to piss his father off, so some of them are really dumb or badly done, but it’s so on brand for him that he touches them up from time to time just to make sure they stay. The tattoo he’s most proud of though, is Regulus’
I think his ribs and torso are pretty covered, probably a mix of random flash art he thinks is cool when he’s in the shop and more floral designs with snakes.
He absolutely has knuckle and hand tattoos, but for the life of me I cannot decide what exactly they’d be. Part of me really thinks he would do a nod towards Hogwarts and do a snake, an eagle, a badger, and a lion and just do symbols on his knuckles. The other part of me thinks he’d do something ridiculous like “PLAN” on his right hand and “AHEA” on the left just because he’s Barty and why wouldn’t he do shit like that
He has a matching tramp stamp with Dorcas, Marlene, Tillie, and Evan because they were all high as a mf and thought it would be hilarious (it is, in fact, hilarious and the most 70s tramp stamp ever)
Has a bottom lip tattoo that says “SLUT”
He wants to do a massive back piece (talking like shoulders to thigh), but hasn’t decided 100% what he wants to do, so hasn’t done it yet. But once that’s done he’s going to have very little open skin left to tattoo
Evan
On his right hipbone, Barty tattooed “BEE” on him
Has a bottom lip tattoo that says “WHORE”
I cannot stress enough how much of a new school vibe I get from Evan. Like this mf gets just the weirdest shit tattooed on him
Rose bush, but all the flowers are skulls. It takes up like all of his torso and rib cage. There’s also a bunch of vines and poisonous plants tangled in there. Somehow it simultaneously does and doesn’t at all fit his vibe
Dragon. Giant, wrapping, dragon. Takes up his entire right leg from the top of his foot up his hip. The dragon’s head wraps up around his thigh and arsecheek then over his hip bone and is blowing smoke right at his naval. He thinks he’s funny.
He and Pandora have a double helix DNA tattoo. Evan’s is on the outside of his left hand
Pandora
Had a bottom lip tattoo that says “PSYCHO” (Barty was PISSED when she got this one until he pulled his out and then wasn’t quite as mad. He did try to get Evan to tattoo his upper lip with it so he could be “Psycho Slut” which he thought was very on brand)
Pandora is also very new school vibe for me. I feel like she would absolutely get all of her creatures tattooed in a new school style and then have a really abrupt fineline piece here and there. It kinda makes your head spin, but that’s the whole point of it
Pandora and Evan have a double helix DNA strand tattoo. Hers is on the outside of her right hand
Has a giant realistic thestral on her thigh
Moths, lots of really cool fineline tattoos of different moth species (idk she strikes me as a bug girlie)
Dorcas
Has a bottom lip tattoo that says “BITCH”
Has a massive sword tattoo down her spine
Right sleeve is an ivy sleeve, it’s just vines and wrapping around her arm and hand. Some of it goes between her fingers and under her arm
Has a lot of Japanese Traditional style tattoos, the Yin and Yang koi fish on her thigh, cherry blossoms up her left calf, phantom Samurai on her ribcage
On her right calf she has a tattoo of a witch being burned at the stake, very haunting, very cool
Amelia
Has a balance tattooed on her inner left wrist and a gavel on her inner right wrist
Has a matching tattoo with Emme and Tillie of a stack of TNT on her hip
I think Amelia keeps her tattoos covered for the most part. They’re really important to her, but they’re definitely FOR her, ya know? Idk, that’s just the vibe I get from her
Emmeline
Has a matching tattoo with Amelia and Tillie of a stack of TNT on her hip
Something about Emme just screams floral tattoos to me. I think she definitely has a sleeve (or two) of mostly floral tattoos. It feels like a really nice dichotomy between how much of a badass she is (either as an Auror or firefighter or whatever kickass occupation she has) and how soft and kind she can be. I really see her having a sleeve on her right leg that she absolutely gets done in black and grey so her godbabies can colour her flowers in whenever she babysits them
Tillie
Has a matching tattoo with Emme and Amelia of a stack of TNT on her hip
Has a matching tramp stamp with Evan, Barty, Dorcas, and Marlene, she has zero recollection of getting it but every time she has to see the unfortunate thing, she can’t help but laugh. She vows to never get high and get tattoos with them again, but she absolutely fails at that
Shark tattoos. Like so many. Whale sharks, hammerheads, great whites, black tips, nurse sharks, shovelnose, etc. There’s just random little tiny shark tattoos all over her and I’m obsessed with them
On the same theme, I think she also has an ocean theme leg sleeve. A full coral reef, mermaids, all kinds of fish, ofc there’s sharks, maybe a whale and definitely an octopus in there. The whole thing is done in full colour and goes from her ankle all the way up her hip and ends at the bottom of her ribcage

Femfort design doodles. The spygirl is just my tf2 oc :3 brief lore drops for what I’ve got so far. If you have ANY I MEAN ANY ideas on designs/lore for either the girls I already have down or the other mercs I am eager to listen.
From left to right, then up to down:
Anja Cohn: Medic’s mum! Like mother like son. A sweet old lady with hobbies that put Victor Frankenstein to shame. Makes excellent biscuits. She’s alive via less conventional means though she insists it’s just her luck which kept her young for so long.
Classified! But just spy will do: Pre-existing oc I made when I gave the tf2 mercenaries siblings! She’s spy’s younger sister. “A woman with a big gun knife and even bigger grudge.” Started as a afghan local spy and worked her way to international waters!
Kiri Kai: Sniper’s big sister, who’s remained in New Zealand until the age of 20, who built an entire submarine JUST to get away from her perpetually bickering parents. Girlfailure with rabies probably. Taxidermy hobby!
Tilly Finnegan Degroot: Demo’s niece, named after his mum. Embodiment of degroot perfection; lost both eyes at the age of 14, has 20 something jobs, and she’s so normal about it. the grind is real. Huzzah
John Doe: Just showed up one day and the team got used to her. Rabid dog they adopted basically. She’s very tidy until she isn’t. Bites people when the rest of the girls aren’t looking. CLOSE friends with Anja. Wink wink nudge nudge
Taking their ages into consideration, I probably should redesign them sometime. Note to self write the lore BEFORE designing the characters

Treasure Triplets' Family Tree
Tumblr media
So, at the request of @zmwrites, I have designed a family tree for at least the Klein side of the triplets' family.
Description bc the quality is crappy:
First generation: Great-Grandparents: buried in Ghana
Second generation: Connor Klein, Tilly Klein, and Etta Klein. Connor was married to Giselle Archer, while Tilly is married to an unnamed husband.
Third generation: Molly Klein Archer and Abbot Archer-Klein, born to Connor and Giselle, are the cousins of Donna Klein, Finnegan Klein, and Larry Klein, born to Tilly. Molly is married to Zhair Klein and Abbot will be married to Arabella Noble.
Fourth generation: The triplets, in order, as Becca, Terra, and Ella Archer.
Notes:
Abbot takes, for a long time in the series, his mother's surname and had the triplets documented as Archers. He eventually gets his name changed back to Klein.
Connor, Tilly, and Etta changed their names when they immigrated o America in order to fit in. Connor and Etta have just never gotten around to changing their names (Tilly can't, she's dead.)
Connor was married to Giselle. I probably should've added some notes but they are divorced.
Arabella has not been mentioned yet, but she will be Abbot's girlfriend and eventual wife.
I tried to document the family tree of Zhair, the triplets' bio father, but had issues. He's not mentioned much in the series so some fun facts
He's Indian and fled from Mumbai after a falling out with his family. Connor welcomed him, which is how he met Molly
Zhair eventually became the first Ironheart before being murdered in front of Molly
Said falling out was partially in relation to the fact that he is technically an affair baby, being a demigod son of Hermes (this fact is never revealed to the triplets even when meeting Hermes)
The triplets got his smile.

Watched my first episode of the year: The Silent Knight.
First, I like the reference in the title. Silent Night is one of the most beautiful Christmas songs
I like Sir Bartleby, but I have to wonder at Sofia saying he's her hero. This is the first time we see him, so she must have heard about his greatness somewhere.
Wow! Tilly is certainly one of a kind. Riding a horse facing backwards. LOL! Gotta love her. And she taught a dragon to knit. If that dragon was anything like the dragons of the Blazing Palisades, it couldn't have been that scary. Also, it was pretty cute that she had scarves for her and her special someone.
I love Sofia helping Bartleby. She even tried to convince him to sing himself instead of having Sir Maxwell do it for him.
Maxwell is a good singer!!! Why is he a knight instead of an opera singer? He missed his calling.
The dancing scene was hilarious!
I'm glad Bartleby got the courage to talk publicly. He deserved to be happy.
This is where James decides he wants to be a knight. He learns that it's not just playing with swords. I'm glad Tilly was able to give him a pop talk when he got frustrated. She's good at those.
Sir Finnegan is great.
There's nothing I don't like. It's an enjoyable episode.

Fifty Kilos of Glitter and a Way Out
This is a mini fic for the lovely @swag696942069 who came up with the concept of Tillie Finnegan, Seamus Finnegan’s mam, and I fell head over heels in love with the idea of her, so I wrote a lil fic for her. Swag, I hope I did Tillie some kind of justice, I love this little menace to society and I really want to play with her character more in the future
CWs: I actually don’t think there’s any?? (Wow yes I know shocker I never managed to write things without heavy CWs so this is a first). There’s mention of magical surrogacy. There’s an overview of the War, but no graphic details of anything. Lots of mentions of bombs/bomb materials. Oh shit wait, glancing description of arson and murder, too, but not with a bomb.
I absolutely did not proof read this, it’s 0100 and I have to be up for work in 3 hours so forgive me for any mistakes. And the line breaks wouldn’t format right on mobile so I gave up. Also, I know “dwt” is a Welsh word, but I couldn’t find an Irish equivalent, so I said fuck it.
Dwt - of a person, someone small or dinky
WC: 4600 words, average read time 35 minutes
Regulus Black is not someone people accidentally bump into, or stumble into, or any other manner of unintentional irritation. He knows this, because he’s hexed people for far less than an unintentional bump in the corridor. People stay far away from him, unless you were Evan, Pandora, Barty, or Dorcas, you made sure you gave him a wide berth. His lack of patience and temper with others has only gotten worse since the summer hols.
Which is why, he thinks, it’s so surprising when someone, who is definitely not any of the aforementioned people, slumps down at his table in the library unceremoniously, and tosses her feet onto the chair beside her. He raises his head from his textbooks and parchments slowly, and blinks owlishly at her. He can’t hide his surprise at the sheer amount of audacity she has. He’s seen her around, knows she’s a Hufflepuff in his year, but she’s not a Prefect so he has no idea what her name is.
“Can I help you?” He sneers. She doesn’t even blink from the venom in his voice. Her head is tilted just a bit to the side and her blue eyes look massive from behind her specs, he can see the thickness of the lens protruding from the wire frames, and, if he’s being honest, it kind of unnerves him.
It’s like she seems to sense that he feels very off-kilter from her sudden appearance and lack of response, and nods strongly once, “Tillie Finnegan, pleasure to meet your acquaintance, Regulus Black. I need your help.” Her words are formal, but her thick, Donegal accent, made the words sound anything but.
Regulus snorts and turns back to his textbooks with a nasty grin, “Bugger off then, you won’t find it here,”
Finnegan laughs, and it sounds like a strange mixture of gulls and bells, “Aye, mightn’t be so hasty when I tell you what I’ve got to offer you,”
He snaps his gaze to her, all but snarling, but stops short when he sees her twirling a very familiar gold chain around her fingers. She smirks as the colour leaves his face entirely.
“Where did you get that,” he tries keeping his voice neutral, but he knows his body language is tense, ready to swipe the necklace out of her hands at the first given opportunity. It betrays him.
She tsks softly, “Not so fast, Baby Black,” she snatches the gold chain out of the air just before he’s able to close his fingers around it. It disappears from her hands not a second later.
Regulus sits stiffly straight in his chair and folds his hands in front of him, “Fine then,” he says, trying to curb the snarl on his face, “Let’s talk,”
Her stoic expression melts away to a sunny exclamation immediately, “Oh wonderful! I’d thought that’d take much longer!” Her mood swings reminded him of Bella, in a way, and a shiver rolls down his spine.
She rights herself in her chair, “Right then, to business, shall we? I need material ordered, but I can’t order it meself or it’ll get reported. Bloody knob has me owls monitored again, as if he could catch me that way,” she snorts wryly as if she’s made a joke he should know, “I’m good for the galleons, don’t worry, I just need someone scary enough or with a big enough name that no one will peep up and question it. Barty said you’d be good for it, if I had the right incentive,”
Regulus is…baffled, to be quite frank, he has no idea what to do with this person in front of him. Her accent makes her words seem like they’re bouncing around his head before they make sense, but they don’t make any sense at all to him.
“Are…” he trails off for just a moment, “Are you trying to blackmail me?”
She looks at him with wide eyes, or at least wider eyes, “What? No! Merlin’s left tit, Black, do you think I’m suicidal? Fuck no, I’m not trying to blackmail you,”
Regulus is struck with the urge to laugh, but bites his tongue, “I suppose that’s good then, you weren’t exactly doing a good job of it,”
Finnegan snorts and slides the necklace across the table, he’d never seen it reappear until now. He’s not sure if she’s terrifyingly good at wandless magic or if it’s slight of hand, but he doesn’t care as he scoops the gold chain with the pendant, a single letter J, and shoves it into his robe pocket.
“I was gonna give that back regardless, I was just hoping it might help get you to listen to me,” she says, “It nearly slipped down the drain in the Prefect’s bath,”
A dark blush rises to his cheeks and she grins lecherously at him, “You two really ought to keep better track of your things,”
Regulus schools his features and tries to will away his blush, “Back to the point, Finnegan, or I shall simply walk away. You’ve given up your bargaining chip,”
She laughs again and tuts, “No, I’ve only lost one bargaining chip. So I’d suggest you remain sitting, dwt,”
He decidedly does not want to know what that means.
He doesn’t get a moment to think before she’s talking again, “You and yours are in a bit of a prank war with the Marauders, aren’t ye?”
He snorts again, as if he’d actually be involved in Evan and Barty’s schemes. He just keeps them, mostly, out of trouble. And maybe he occasionally suggests some ideas. But only occasionally. He wouldn’t lower himself to his brother’s antics.
“Evan and Barty are, yes,”
Finnegan rolls her eyes, “Please, Black, anyone with eyes that can see past their nose can see you all over their pranks. Evan and Barty are two of the dumbest fuckers I’ve ever met. Smart as a whip when it comes to a book, they are, but both of ‘em would be lost without you, so don’t even try that selkie-shite with me,”
He cocks his head curiously at her, “Rather observant,” he murmurs, “for a Hufflepuff,”
She quirks a sarcastic brow, “Rather smart,” she drawls, “for a Slytherin,”
He can’t help but chuckle at that, “Touché,”
She waves her hands and rolls her eyes, “Merlin and all the saints, can’t believe people can be multifaceted outside of their house traits they get sorted into at age eleven. The news will rock the Wizarding World at its core,”
Finnegan reminds him of a very strange combination of Barty and Dorcas. He has to admit, he kind of likes her. She’s absolutely a bag of cats, he can bear smell the crazy coming off her, but Barty was also bat-shite crazy and Dorcas was not far behind him in that regard, so maybe he just attracted crazy in his life. Perhaps the Black Family Madness was just a by-product of accumulating an assortment of completely mental people.
“Can we get back to the point, Finnegan? I’ve Arithmency homework to finish,” he asks.
“Bollocks,” she swears, “Sorry, I really didn’t mean to take up so much of your time. If you order the materials I need, I can get you intel on your brother and his friends’ pranks. And help your lot prank them.”
He weighed his options. It’s not like she was asking a monumental favour. He could indulge her.
“What materials do you need that you can’t order yourself?” He certainly didn’t need to be getting caught with anything illegal. He had enough on his plate without dealing with any of that nonsense.
“I need fifty kilos of ultra-fine glitter, antimony trisulfide, dextrin, strontium, copper, barium, and sodium chloride, sulphur powder, charcoal, and potassium nitrate,”
Regulus blinks.
He blinks again.
And again.
“I’m sorry,” he says, completely bewildered, “you’re building a bomb?!”
She immediately shushes him, looking around to make sure no one heard him, “Keep your bloody voice down, Black!”
She looks at him with an irritated glare, “Merlin’s tits, yes, of course, I’m building a bloody bomb! Are you new here? That’s kind of my thing. And it’s a glitter bomb, you knob. Completely harmless, just very inconvenient and a highly effective form of retribution,” she grinned manically, “Nothing like trying to get glitter out of your knickers to make you think twice about being a proper gobshite, aye?”
This is officially the strangest situation he’s ever found himself in, which is saying something seeing as he’s lived with Barty for six years, and he can’t help but laugh. He supposes digging ultra-fine glitter out of every body crevice and article of clothing one is in possession of is plenty of motivation to not be an arse.
“Okay,” he chuckles, “Sure, I’ll get your materials. Give me everything you have on my brother and his miserable group of miscreants,”
Finnegan waggles her eyebrows with an almost comical leer, “I know for a fact you don’t think one of those “miserable miscreants” is really all that bad,”
Regulus rolls his eyes, knowing there’s no way he can talk his way out of this, not with Finnegan knowing about the necklace and apparently one of their late night dalliances in the Prefect’s bath.
“Actually,” Regulus says, rather primly, “I quite think he’s the worst of them all,”
Finnegan coughs out a laugh, “You would, wouldn’t you?”
Regulus balks at that, “What does that mean?”
Finnegan grins and shrugs, “Don’t worry your pretty little head over it, Black,”
He tries to needle her into explaining, but she stays infuriatingly tight-lipped about it. He curses the fool who ever said Hufflepuffs didn’t have three braincells to rub together. This particular one is maddeningly astute. He wants to hex her.
Tillie lets him try and pry an explanation out of her, but simply regales him with half answers and nonsensical tripe. She’s got to give it to him, he puts up with it longer than most do. She reckons he’s used to runaround answers from being around Pandora, but even Baby Black has his limits and before long he huffs exasperatedly, blowing a stray curl up before it falls right back where it was and he goes crosseyed trying to glare at it.
He levels her with a completely unimpressed look, “You’re a wretched, evil, thing, you know?”
She grins at him, a bit mean and very entertained, “Been called worse, I reckon,” he rolls his eyes, thoroughly done with her antics, but helplessly amused all the same, “Now, do you wanna know what your brother and his lot are planning, or not?”
Regulus leans forward, eyes bright. He may want to pretend he’s above such shenanigans, but she knows he’s every bit as mischief-inclined as his brother and his not-so-secret (to her anyways) boyfriend. Regulus Black is many things, but a stick in the mud is not one of them.
She leans forward in her seat too and whispers, “They’re planning to animate the Slytherin Quidditch lockers to chase after players while they’re trying to change for next weekend’s match,”
Regulus is actually surprised, that’s rather brilliant. The team wouldn’t see it coming at all, it’d throw them out of their rhythm and disrupt their pre-game routines. It has James written all over it.
“That rotten bastard,”
Tillie snorts, “Technically, he’s not a bastard, he has both parents, the lucky sod,”
Regulus rolls his eyes, “He doesn’t have good parent privileges right now. He’s a dirty, cheating bastard and I’m going to knock him straight off his broom on the pitch,”
Tillie widens her eyes, “You mean to tell me,” she gasps dramatically, “you’re capable of doing something straight? I didn’t think it was possible,”
Regulus chokes on air, and splutters indignantly, “Oi! Fuck off, Finnegan!”
It takes him only a few days to get Finnegan’s bomb-making materials. Just as Finnegan had said, no one questioned him about his need for such a collection of materials. Nothing was dangerous or illegal in of itself, and nothing was searched coming into the castle. He’d had Kreacher pick most everything up and bring it directly to his dorm. Once everything had arrived, it was simply a task of sending a school owl to deliver a note to Finnegan and meeting in an unused Potions lab for the transfer.
When Tillie arrived to the lab, she was nearly vibrating with a manic energy. He desperately hoped he would not get caught in the crossfire of this, but he had little hope of being spared. Sirius had once dumped a package of glitter into his hair when they were younger and he hadn’t been able to get it out for months. Did the Impervious Charm work on glitter? He bloody well hoped so. He’d have to ask Flitwick.
“Fucking insane, you are,” Regulus shook his head. Tillie giggled.
“Better than being normal,” she shrugged, “Now shoo. James is about to try and bribe the house elves into pouring a potion into everyone’s drinks at dinner. If you hurry, you might be able to find out what it is,”
He’s almost to the door when she snorts and snickers under her breath, “And maybe get a snog sesh in too,”
He sends a stinging hex at her without looking and his face splits into a grin when she yelps loudly behind him. Serves her right.
Their alliance (friendship) continues through the year. He knows she’s playing both sides of this prank war, but he finds it quite fun to try and feed her false information, or weasel information out of her. They constantly rile each other up, snapping out insults and banter like they’d been doing it for years. She gets along with Evan and Barty far too well for his comfort, and Dorcas and Pandora both enjoy her company. It takes him a while to get used to Bones and Vance when she starts bringing them around, but eventually they all settle into a peaceful agreement. He argues politics with Bones and Vance, and it takes him far too long to figure out why everyone calls the three Hufflepuffs “The Bombsquad”. It’s quite possible that he was the last person in Hogwarts to find out about Tillie Finnegan’s rather concerning obsession with pyrotechnics and explosives. Suddenly, all her exploded potions assignments made a lot more sense.
It’s nearing the end of sixth year, and Regulus has all but withdrawn from everyone and everything. He knows what’s waiting for him at home and his stomach is a constant pit of dread. He can’t eat or sleep. He has to end things with James soon to keep him safe and the thought of losing the one person who brings so much light and warmth to his bleak and cold existence threatens to tear him apart at the very seams. He goes through the motions day-to-day, but everything is hazy and discombobulated around him. He hears the lectures, but doesn’t comprehend the words. He sits in the library and stares at his textbooks, trying to read the same passages over and over and over again, but all he can think about is the imaginary noose around his neck feels like it gets tighter by the hour. It’s only a matter of time before the floor falls out beneath his feet and his life is over. He had so much he wanted to do, but this is the way his life works. He knows he has no choice. Not if he wants to keep Sirius safe from Walburga and Orion and the Dark Lord. War is coming, and he’ll be damned if he doesn’t keep Sirius alive through it.
His thoughts are interrupted, in a way that’s strangely reminiscent of their very first meeting at this exact library table. But this time, when Tillie Finnegan throws herself in the chair across from him, she’s not alone. Amelia Bones hovers rather awkwardly at the remaining chair, before she sits down stiffly.
“I’m not getting you more glitter,” Regulus says in lieu of a greeting. His voice is raspy from disuse. He doesn’t actually know when the last time he spoke was.
“Good, cause that’s not what I’m here for. But feel free to spoil me with gunpowder any time you want,” Tillie quips. His lips twitch, as though they want to smile, but can’t.
“What do you need, Tils?” He asks.
She grins at him, but there’s something hesitant in it, it puts him on edge, “I need you to promise not to hex the hair off of us and to hear me out,”
Regulus blinks. Once. Twice.
“I..” he looks between Bones and Tillie, Bones won’t meet his eyes, “I do not like where this is going,”
Bones clears her throat, “It’s not a bad thing. Tillie is just convinced you’re going to hate our meddling,”
He shoots Tillie a dark look and sighs, his curiosity getting the best of him, “Fine,” he grumbles, “I promise not to hex the hair off of you and to hear out whatever inane, meddlesome plot you’ve devised now,”
Tillie and Bones slide a rolled bundle of parchment over the table to him. He pulls the leather thong binding it and his breath gets punched out of his throat by the words he reads.
Wizarding Persons Protection Incentive: For Children of Dark Families Who May Not Have A Choice
There are countless pages documenting the program and what it could provide, and a bulleted list for, what he assumed, names. He could feel the magic in the parchment as he held it, looking through everything. It detailed how the persons protection worked, what protections were laid in place, how the DMLE would uphold those protections, and the measures the department were taking to thoroughly vet each person wanting to come into the program.
“It’s officially been approved as of this morning. The Minister, Head Auror, and the Head of the DMLE signed it into effect to start before the summer hols.” Bones said quietly.
Tillie brushed his hand, and he jerked away, she smiled sadly, “You aren’t obligated in any way, Reg, but you’re a good person. You aren’t built for war, and Sirius isn’t the only one who deserves a happy ending,”
Tears spill over his eyes and he desperately, desperately, wants to believe her, “They’ll hunt him down if they don’t have an heir. I have to. I don’t have a choice,”
He tries to contain his sob, but the ugly thing rips out of his chest. It’s silent, of course, but it doesn’t hurt any less.
“Reg, Sirius is already taken care of. So is James. And Remus, and Pete. They’re all acting as, quote unquote, officers for the program. They aren’t going to be 100% out of the line of fire, but they’ll be working on muggleborn intel, and evacuating families before Moldyshorts can get to them. They’ll be under heavy protections at all times, and in charge of safe house rotations. Your parents would need to be the spawn of Merlin to get to Sirius, love.”
His breath was caught in his throat. Could he really escape this? Was it possible? Would he actually be able to live through the War and not have to sacrifice everything he is to a narcissistic, half-blood, megalomaniac?
Tillie breaks him out of his thoughts, “Reg, love,” she says gently, he looks into her eyes and sees nothing but kindness. She doesn’t pity him. He knows his desperation is plain as day on his face, but he can’t push it away. He is desperate. He doesn’t want to be turned into a monster.
Tillie gently takes the parchment back and rolls it up, securing the leather thong around it and stuffing it back into her bag. Her expression is kind and open when she speaks again, “It’s time for you to think about what you want, Regulus. Not what’s best for Sirius, or what your parents want, or what you’ve been taught is expected of you. Take tonight. Think about what you want. We’ll come find you tomorrow, and you can give us your answer,”
Bones and Tillie don’t linger, they leave him to his racing thoughts. He barely manages another half hour of trying to study before he shoves his books roughly in his bag and books it to his dorm. Evan and Barty are already there, in deep discussion.
Barty looks up at him and waves him over to his bed, “Fins talk to you about it?”
“Yeah,” Regulus says, arranging himself against Evan’s side at the headboard. His skin crawls a bit from the contact, but he doesn’t pay it any mind, “What are we doing about it?”
Evan drops an arm around Regulus, holding tight for a minute, “We’re a team, Reg, wherever we go, we go together, always.”
Barty nods sharply at Evan’s words. They all share a moment of silence, looking from one to another as an unspoken wave of understanding rolls across them.
“So we’re decided?” Regulus asks. Barty and Evan don’t hesitate to respond in the affirmative.
The next morning, each of them sign their names on that enchanted parchment with a flourish the first second they could.
No one could have known that a few elegant, swooping signatures would change the entire course of the War. Children from Dark families signed into the program from every house, desperately trying to escape the fate their parents lay for them. Voldemort’s forces didn’t grow exponentially in the lead up to the War, as his sacrificed child soldiers suddenly started disappearing. Dumbledore barely had a force to work with, the children he approached, certain of their answers, turned him away and refused to join the Order, no matter what he tried to leverage against them.
Without a supply of expendable foot soldiers each leader had anticipated, they’d been forced to fight their own war. Dumbledore had been forced to find the Horcruxes on his own. Tom had been forced to pick his battles, instead of raining chaos at any given opportunity. There were still battles, still bloodshed and deaths, but the war had been changed.
James, Sirius, and Remus had several close calls with Death Eaters while evacuating muggles and muggleborns, but most everything was easily healed. They had an almost impossible success rate for getting families evacuated and keeping them safe from Death Eaters. The three of them duelled fiercely together, and became a force that even seasoned Death Eaters were wary to reckon with.
Peter thrived in making plans, his love of strategy and sharp eye created easy executed plans of escape, evasion, attack, and defence. He could think from both sides of the chessboard, taught the officers how to anticipate their opponent, forced them to learn how to use stealth and speed together for the quickest and cleanest missions possible, but also taught them how to sacrifice the premise of a mission and still come out successful.
Lily Evans blossomed in her role as Healer alongside Mary MacDonald. The two of them devised emergency kits for every single member of the Initiative, something that had saved several of their lives over the course of the War.
Barty and Evan were stationed as the WPPI’s hit wizards and they revelled in being able to use the darker magics against Death Eaters. They wrought chaos and distrust among Voldemort’s ranks, using Polyjuice to infiltrate the ranks and sow seeds of doubt. They cut more than a fourth of Voldemort’s forces down alone.
They’d found out Dorcas and Marlene McKinnon had an uncanny knack for breaking into places and stealing things without anyone being the wiser. As Voldemort got more desperate to regain the upper hand, his plans became clearer and clearer. Dorcas and Marlene took a special kind of satisfaction at staying one step ahead of him at all times, getting to whatever book, artefact, or target he was after just moments before he did.
Pandora stayed well away from the War in any capacity, but frequently helped pass along information she gathered from the streets or from Visions.
Bones took the Ministry by storm when she flawlessly headed the WPPI and stepped seamlessly into the role of DMLE Head, when the former one had been killed by Voldemort.
Vanity fast-tracked into the Auror department and quickly became known for her ruthless duelling skills and on-the-fly thinking.
Tillie and her husband, Sean, stayed far away from the War and the efforts of the WPPI. Their son deserved a world where both his parents were there and available for him. That didn’t stop Tillie from sending a very, very large box of carefully crafted explosives to a safe house off the coast of Italy to a certain curly haired Slytherin who’d done her a favour years ago.
And Regulus? Well, he’d paid a visit to Number 12 Grimmuald Place and he’d buried his parents below tons of ash and flame. He’d torched the place he’d been imprisoned to his whole life and the place where his childhood had been ruthlessly taken from him. He stepped into his role as the Head of The Noble and Most Ancient House of Black with an air of grace that only a Black could have. He used their fortune to buy up properties for safe houses, provide supplies for their Healers, and work the Wizagmont into a sustainable path for the future. He also frequently got nailed in the face with a signature glitter-filled mini bomb when he opened the package that arrived on his doorstep each month. He learned unfortunately quickly that neither the Impervious Charm nor Protego are effective in fighting off the onslaught of craft shrapnel.
The War ends when Albus Dumbledore and Tom Riddle duel for the last time. Their wandfire clashes together with an epic thundering and the contrasting jets of light explode as they meet. The leaders of war stand no chance against the concussive blast and when the dust settles, all that’s left is the bodies of two old men, half of a Phoenix feather and yew wand, and a perfectly split wand made from Elderwood and thestral hair. Their graves are unmarked, except for an inscription that reads: “Here lies the mark of men who believed violence would provide them power, and only succeeded in destroying their humanity in an attempt to seize it.”
Not six months after the end of the War, Lily Evans brings a little boy into the world who looks just like his father, but has Regulus’ icy blue eyes. Magical surrogacy had allowed James and Regulus to have a child of their very own, who was safe from the horrors of the war and could never be used as a tool to further an old man’s delusional agenda.
Harry Potter grew up in a world where he made “science experiments” with his best friend Seamus Finnegan, and helped his other best friend Neville and his mum in the greenhouses, and threw gnomes from the garden with his other best friend Ron, and swam in the lake with his (sometimes) other best friend Draco, and was babysat by his favourite cousin Tonks when his Dad and Papa went on date nights.
Tillie Finnegan wasn’t a war hero to the Wizarding public, but to a set of three Slytherins who had nowhere to go except down the irredeemable path, she was the best hero of them all.

Chapter 3: The Reunion.
Robert has returned, and he is hellbent on finding the lost island of Atlantis and Poseidon’s Trident. Meanwhile; Edward and the crew are trapped inside the tavern as it burns down.
After adjusting his eyesight to the smoke and shooting flames as best he could; Edward grabs the amulet, he puts Ginny who was closest to him when the roof collapsed on his back, calls out to the rest of his crew and leads them to safety via Tilly’s secret passageway.
“Is everyone alright? Are there any injuries?”, he asks as he looks everyone once over. Thankfully no one was hurt; just severely shaken by what had just transpired. “That cruel blackguard will pay for this!”, he says as he slams his fist into the stone wall.
“Aye he will! He will pay with his life! We will see to it!”, Charlie sneered. Rage written clear across her face. After safely making it back to The Jewel; the crew sets off into the night after Robert. The only thing is; they had no idea where he was headed next. Robert wasn’t going the traditional trade routes.
“Ye don’t know where he’s headed cap’n! We be sailing blind!”, Henry exclaimed.
“I don’t care! We WILL find him! And he will die! This time for good!”, he snapped at Henry.
“He’s right Edward. You don’t know where he’s headed. But I know who does!”, Charlie says as she points to the amulet around his neck. “Go to her Edward. We need her help. And you; need to make sure that she’s okay.”
“Charlie, I can’t just leave—“, he begins to say before she cuts him off, “I’m not asking you to leave; I’m telling you to! She’s having your child Edward, you need to go see her!”
In his heart; he knew she was right. He wanted to see her. He needed to see her. But he didn’t want to leave the crew behind.
“Charlie—“, he starts to protest before she cuts him off again,”We will be fine until you get back. I know where the second of The Seven Lords is. We’ll be fine as long as, we can beat him to the key fragment. Now go Edward! Go to Kyra. Send her our love!”
It was decided. He would go to the future to see her. Even though he had his apprehensions; he was secretly excited to see the future and to tell the crew what he saw. Remembering what Robert told her about using the amulet; Edward closed his eyes and envisioned her. And before he knew it; he was thrust into the future.
He was in a parlor of some sort he figured; but he wasn’t sure who’s parlor it was. It never dawned on him that; he was in her townhouse. Nor did he realize that his amulet was glowing.
While she was in her spare bedroom; she was going over scattered reports of the most recent accounts of Atlantis. With papers, books and the like laying all over the place. She was determined to find out everything she could about the legends of Atlantis and the trident. In the midsts of her research is; when the amulet that Robert “gave” to her started to glow ominously.
“That isn’t good!”, she said to herself.
Thinking that the glow meant Robert was coming to see her again; and knowing that he and his ilk would more than likely show up in her living room; she decided to arm herself.
So, she grabbed the metal baseball bat that she got after the last time she saw him and his crew, and went downstairs to see if her hunch was right. When Edward heard a door close; he looked for a place to hide. He was crouched down in her kitchen; ready to strike. When she descended down the stairs towards the living room; the amulet began to glow brighter.
“Alright ya stupid bastard! If I gotta go down; I’m at least gonna get a few Ken Griffey Jr. hits in!”, she says to herself as her couch came into view.
But when she turned a corner ready to fight for her and her child’s life; she didn’t see anything at first. But someone familiar saw her.
“Kyra…is it really you?”, asked a voice that was all too familiar. It startled her enough for her to drop that bat in her hand.
“No! It can’t be. He couldn’t be here. He’s not here! I’m hearing things because I’m paranoid. There is no way that he’s here…”, she said out loud; convinced she was hearing things.
“Kyra…”, he said to her. It caused her to start shaking.
“No! No! No! It’s not possible! He’s not here!”, she says out loud trying her hardest to convince herself, it’s not real. None of it is real. That was until, she felt his strong arms wrap tightly around her waist; and felt his warm breath in her ear.
“I’m here my love. I’m right here.”, he said to her.
It was indeed very real.
She couldn’t believe it. It wasn’t possible. It’s not possible. Even with his arms around her; she still struggled to believe it. That was until she turned around. It’s him. It’s Edward. He’s here. She was staring straight up at him. Those eyes, those beautiful brown eyes looked directly into hers. There he was. Her captain. The love of her life.
“Edward…”, she said as her voice cracked. She reached up and touched his face. He leaned into her touch. Oh how he missed it. That’s when she realized that it was real. He was real. That moment was real.
Overcome with emotion; she wrapped her arms around his neck. She just couldn’t believe what was happening. It wasn’t until her growing belly brushed against him; that she started to truly believe that it was real.
“I thought…I thought…that I’d never—“, she started to say something but; she was cut off by him kissing her. It was powerful. It was passionate. It was true love. It was Edward.
“I’ve missed my love. So much. I never stopped looking for you after you disappeared. And now, I’ve found you. I’ve finally found you!”, he told her.
He was just as emotional as she was.
“I missed you too! I didn’t want to leave you! I never meant to leave you. I’m sorry! I’m so sorry! Can you forgive me?”, she replied; as tears stung her eyes and stained her face.
“Shhhh! Hush! None of it was your fault. You did what you had to do. I could never find fault in that or you.”, he answered her.
She stepped back to truly take a look at him. He hadn’t changed at all. He was still as drop dead gorgeous as she remembered him to be. He placed his left hand on her belly, rested his forehead against hers and closed his eyes. She was really going to bare his child.
“Kyra…there is something I have been dying to tell you.”, he said to her.
“What is it Edward? Tell me.”, she replied, as her voice continued to break.
“I love you! I have loved you since the day we shared our first kiss. I have struggled without you by my side and in my arms.”, he admitted to her.
“I love you too! Now more than ever! You are the only man I will ever love!”, she replied before kissing him again.
They couldn’t get enough of each other. The only reason that they stopped; was because of Edward sinking to his knees and resting his forehead against her belly.
“I’m going to be a father. Your father. I promise you my child; that I will be a better father than the one I had.”, he whispered against her growing stomach. She draped her arms around his broad shoulders; and held him close.
“And what a father; you will be Edward. I’m so excited to have your baby. To have our baby.”, she quietly said to him as she rubbed his back. Tears of joy streamed down his face. He had her in his arms once again. He could touch her. He could taste her. He could feel her. When he looked into her beautiful brown eyes; he saw the love and the joy they shared.
“As happy as I am to see you Edward; I know that you have the amulet of Atlas. You’re because of jackass and his crew, aren’t you?”, she asks him.
“Aye, my love. He’s going after the key to Poseidon’s tomb. I must stop him Kyra. God only knows what havoc he will reek on my time and yours for that matter.”, he told her.
“You will stop him. I will make sure of it. Now come with me; so we can put a plan together.”, she tells him. He stands up then follows her upstairs to where she’d been doing her research. She explained everything she had learned so far. Especially what she had learned about Robert’s crew.
“This jackass here is his first mate; Gerald Pearson. But; I was able to find out their names. The names of the other members are Harold Perry, Donald Hunter, Quinten Jones, Frank Turner, Xavier Reynolds, Calvin Pierce, Shawn Winston and James Kenner. They along with The Sirens were all students in Robert’s Greek Mythology Class. “Now the women’s names are Tabitha Mills, Mari Rodriguez, Callie Wheeler and Beatrice Richards. They call themselves The Sirens. I’m still researching him and the crew.” she explained.
“This is a great start my love! Now, let’s work on the map.”, he told her.
Working together; they even found a way to make sure that the amulet of Orion, can never be used by Robert ever again. As they worked on a map of the seven kings; he noticed that she was starting to get tired.
“You should rest my love.”, he told her before placing a small kiss on the inside of her right wrist.
“I can’t rest yet Edward. We have to finish this map of where to look for the remaining keys. Besides; I’m scared to go to sleep.”, she admitted.
“Why?”, he asks her; as he held her close.
“Because; I’m scared that you won’t be here when I wake up.”, she admitted to him.
“I will always be with you my love. No matter you and I go, no matter what century we are in. I will ALWAYS be with you.””, he told her.
“That’s not the only thing I’m scared of. I have an appointment with Dr. Everett tomorrow, to find whether or not this baby is a boy or a girl. That’s why I’m scared to leave. I’m not saying that I don’t want to be with you. Because I do; God knows that I do. But; in terms of this baby, I have to stay here. But Edward I don’t want to! I want to be with you and the crew but I don’t know if I can risk it.”, she says to him.
“I know that you have your life and doctor here, my love. And I would never demand of you to leave if you aren’t comfortable. So if you must stay my love; then you should stay, Kyra.”, he replies.
“But Edward I don’t want to be alone! And I don’t want you to be alone either!”, she exclaimed as tears filled her eyes. He simply rocked her in his arms.
“Shhh…Hush my love…we will never be alone. I will never be without you and you without me, ever again. And when you are ready; I will bring you and our child home with me. Especially since we now have these amulets in our possession. We will make this work. I promise you that. But right now; you need your rest.”, he told her. His voice was soothing and calm.
She nodded in agreement. He smiled at her.
“Stay with me, until I leave for my appointment?”, she asked him.
“Of course my love. I am yours until the end of time, remember?”, he told her before placing a small kiss on the inside of her right wrist.
“And I’m yours Edward…I will always be yours…Until the end of time…”, she told him. He then kissed her with every ounce of fire and passion that he had in him.
She led him to her bedroom and as she fell asleep in his arms; he whispered to her, “I will protect you my love. Both of you…”
Edward was in for the fight of his life. But for the woman and the child that he loved more than life itself; it was a fight he was more than ready for.
***This was my most emotional chapter yet; so you’re being forewarned now. I’m gonna take a small break. But I will be back with Chapter 4!

Tilly and Kirk
Disclaimer: this contains major Star Trek Discovery spoilers! (And kinda for Star Trek Online??)
Anyways, so I was playing Star Trek Online the other night and in the discovery story mode you follow around Sylvia Tilly for the tutorial for the game. Something I thought was interesting was the fact that as she is walking your character around Starfleet Academy she is talking about other students there. Specifically, one "Kirk" who had "taken the Kobayashi Maru twice already" hmmmmm wonder who that is???
So obviously these two went to the academy together, and by the way that she spoke about him, made them seem pretty close. Could you imagine the two of them being friends?? Her messaging him about how she has to share a room with Michael the mutineer? Or Kirk talking to her about his first year in a deep space assignment? The conversations that would pass between these two?? Complaining about their problems in their free time and gossiping about their ships when their bored. They don't talk everyday, but it's steady.
But then Jim hears the news of the Discovery-- he's heart broken. This is right after the USS Farragut's captain along with almost 200 crew members die, something Jim still blames himself for. And now, she's gone too. Sure, she wasn't his best friend in the world but she was an old friend, someone bright and kind. Tilly was someone who was reliable, someone who he could talk to and trust. He never really gets over losing her.
Now image Jim years later. He's the captain of the Enterprise with Spock as his first officer. Spock has no idea of the fact of Jim's past friendship with Tilly. When the anniversary passes Spock treats it just like any other year, he of course thinks of his sister often and tries to remember the fact that even though she is decades away from him, she is alive. But then he finds Kirk. He is scrolling though articles about the Discovery's destruction with this distant and far off look.
And then, surprisingly to both of them, Spock sits with him. They talk for a while and slowly start to let each other in.
Kirk mentions Tilly, about how she probably never knew how much she meant to him. About how at the academy she was there to defend him when he was being harassed by an upperclassman named Finnegan. About how they would talk about their dreams of being starship captains someday. About how he is one. And she would never get the chance.
Spock, of course, can't tell him about how the Discovery actually survived, but he can tell him about his sister. About how much she meant to him. About how she was his mentor and friend and how she had also "died" in Discovery.
Spock tells him everything he can about her and Kirk talks about Tilly until it's so late they might as well not sleep. Though, neither of them seem to really mind.
It is the first anniversary they don't feel as alone-- as empty without them.

Creeped Out is a horror anthology series shown on CBBC in the UK and available on Netflix elsewhere. It’s an excellent show, fun for kids with loads of crossover appeal for adults. But the big entertainment sites tend not to cover it, and I haven't been able to find a definitive ranking of all the episodes anywhere. So I decided to create my own, because why not?! This list includes season 1 and season 2; I’ll add further episodes as they’re shown.
Before we get into this: there are some spoilers in here. I’ve tried to keep them to a minimum but sometimes, to describe what's good (or bad) about an episode, I need to discuss elements of the plot.
Every episode of Creeped Out, ranked from best to worst
1. ‘Slapstick’ (Season 1, Episode 1)
Tumblr media
The first episode of a series is rarely the best, but Creeped Out bucks the trend—‘Slapstick’ hasn’t yet been bettered. It’s the perfect combination of cozy and creepy, with a quintessentially British setting (a seaside town complete with Punch & Judy shows), a puppet antagonist who’s somewhere between unnerving and amusing, and a relatable main character. Even the score is the best of the bunch: its sinister take on fairground music really adds to the atmosphere. The plot—Jessie wishes her parents were ‘normal’, and lives to regret it—is compelling, and in contrast to some of the weaker episodes, you actually understand why the characters do the things they do (even the bully is given a bit of a backstory). ‘Slapstick’ is a gem, and more than any other episode, it stands up to repeated rewatches.
2. ‘Trolled’ (Season 1, Episode 3)
Tumblr media
Sam leads a double life: he’s secretly NoFace, an online troll who often targets his closest friends. When he ignores a message warning him to stop trolling, things start to go very wrong. This episode is set in the plush surroundings of a boarding school (one of Creeped Out’s more notable backdrops) and the contrast between Sam’s environment and his online life is both palpable and believable. The dynamic between Sam, Fitzy and Naini is established very effectively—you really feel Sam has something to lose. Extra points for the properly bleak ending, too.
3. ‘Kindlesticks’ (Season 1, Episode 9)
Tumblr media
This episode is a fan favourite, and it’s not difficult to see why. ‘Kindlesticks’ came out of nowhere, landing in the middle of a few mediocre episodes, and doesn’t seem at first glance to have the most exciting setup: a bad babysitter getting her comeuppance. Yet you’ll likely find that the tale of Esme, her charge Ashley and his imaginary friend Kindlesticks will drag you in, spit you out and leave you reeling. It’s a simple idea executed perfectly, with what is undoubtedly Creeped Out’s best delivery of a twist. Seriously, I didn’t see that coming at all.
4. ‘Splinta Claws’ (Season 2, Episode 10)
Tumblr media
Admittedly, it isn’t difficult to make a Christmas episode good—add lots of sparkly decorations and a bit of ‘Carol of the Bells’ and you’ve already nailed the atmosphere. ‘Splinta Claws’, in which two boys get trapped in a department store along with a possessed animatronic Santa, builds on that to create an inspired take on PG-13 seasonal horror. It’s the self-aware script that really makes this episode; the ‘frenemy’ relationship between anxious Mikey and street-smart Lawrence, plus the characters’ recognition that the slow-moving Santa isn’t that scary (despite its nightmare-fuel face). An effective combination of action, emotion and humour results in a spooky festive treat.
5. ‘Tilly Bone’ (Season 2, Episode 9)
Tumblr media
Telling a story backwards is a bold move, and initially, it makes ‘Tilly Bone’ confusing. Some viewers might find themselves wanting to switch off as they wonder what the hell is going on. But stick with it, and a fascinating tale unfolds, with layers, details and clues to be picked apart, nods to classic horror, great performances (especially Alice Franziska Woodhouse as the disquieting Junebug) and some of the series’ most original and surprising ideas. It’s formally innovative, daring and altogether one of the most impressive pieces of work Creeped Out has yet produced.
6. ‘Marti’ (Season 1, Episode 4)
Tumblr media
Kim is initially delighted when her new phone’s AI helps her to become more popular, but things take a turn for the sinister when ‘he’ claims to be in love with her. ‘Marti’ cleverly uses this premise as a kid-appropriate way to explore themes of coercive control and abusive relationships. I have a feeling this episode may have been inspired by the 2016 movie Bedeviled—there are lots of similarities, right down to Marti’s voice—and it says a lot that in 25 minutes it crafts a better, more meaningful story than a full-length horror movie for adults was able to manage. Often unfairly slept on, ‘Marti’ is the talented underdog of the series.
7. ‘Takedown’ (Season 2, Episode 8)
Tumblr media
‘Takedown’ is intriguing because it departs completely from the series’ typical aesthetic—there's lots of shakycam, a grainy feel to the cinematography, a muted colour palette. It’s shot more like an indie film than an episode of a kids’ show. It focuses on Alexa, the only girl on her high school wrestling team, who uses a weird chain text to wish for more strength. Since this is Creeped Out, it’s no surprise that her ‘gift’ comes at a price. With its gritty feel and the authentic friendship between Alexa and Lucky (‘cheers to root beers’, anyone?), this episode is something really different, and all the more memorable for it.
8. ‘No Filter’ (Season 2, Episode 6)
Tumblr media
Like ‘Trolled’, ‘No Filter’ is a thoroughly enjoyable example of what a series like this should be aiming for, which is essentially a junior version of a Twilight Zone episode. There’s a recognisable starting point—who hasn’t used filters or Facetune to make their selfies look better, and who bothers reading all the T&Cs?—and when Kiera’s eroded face is revealed, it’s one of the few moments in the series to create a genuine shock. Plus there’s a proper pantomime villain, just as it should be. The ending might be a little jumbled, but it’s entertaining enough that that can be forgiven.
9. ‘Cat Food’ (Season 1, Episode 2)
Tumblr media
Happy-go-lucky prankster Stu pretends to be ill so he can skip school, but gets more than he bargained for when he discovers the elderly neighbour, Mrs McMurtle, is actually a shapeshifting monster. ‘Cat Food’ is a fun, comedic episode (the only one yet to make me laugh out loud) and, while there isn’t a great deal of substance to the story, it’s efficiently told and neatly resolved. Rhys Gannon is great as Stu and it’s just an all-round fun time.
10. ‘The Traveller’ (Season 1, Episode 11)
Tumblr media
While the vast majority of Creeped Out episodes take place in a distinctly middle-class milieu, ‘The Traveller’ switches things up by focusing on Jodie and Brandon, troublemaking kids on an inner-city estate. They come across a device that can pause time, and it’s all fun and games until a blue-skinned man starts hunting them down. The plot is a bit more Doctor Who than your average episode, and the combination of urban setting and sci-fi story is surprisingly successful. There’s also an emotional gut-punch of a moment when Jodie finally understands the problems she’s been creating for her mum.
11. ‘The Call’ (Season 1, Episode 6)
Tumblr media
‘The Call’ isn't one of the strongest stories in Creeped Out’s repertoire. An unpopular girl is drawn to an environmental activist and discovers she’s a siren, gaining powers into the bargain—interesting enough, but not enormously original, and inevitably a gateway to slightly tedious lecturing about plastic etc. It stands out mainly because of a stellar performance from Rebecca Hanssen, who reminds me of a young Olivia Colman. Hanssen really inhabits the character of Pearl, and shows how excellent acting can elevate an ordinary plot and script.
12. ‘The Many Place’ (Season 2, Episode 4)
Tumblr media
With their holiday scuppered by torrential rain, three siblings wander a hotel and find themselves lost in a maze of realities. ‘The Many Place’ is designed as an homage to Stanley Kubrick’s The Shining, and spotting the references is part of the enjoyment here. The story takes advantage of the liminal, disconcerting nature of a large hotel to craft a series of alarmingly plausible terrors, and the ending features the best twist since ‘Kindlesticks’.
13. ‘One More Minute’ (Season 2, Episode 1)
Tumblr media
‘One More Minute’ kicks off the second season with a pure hit of enjoyment that doesn’t take itself too seriously. When Jack can’t tear himself away from his favourite videogame, he finds time passing quickly—scarily quickly. While it may not be among the best, everything about this episode is solid: it’s (appropriately) well paced, the relationships are soundly fleshed out, and it’s all wrapped up well.
14. ‘Itchy’ (Season 2, Episode 2)
Tumblr media
It may have one of the show's sillier premises—the villains are... head lice—but I have a soft spot for ‘Itchy’. Perhaps it’s the setting: a military academy on an English island feels fresh when you compare it to the many identikit homes and high schools in the series. Perhaps it’s the strong performance from Oliver Finnegan as protagonist Gabe. Either way, there’s something low-key charming about this episode.
15. ‘Side Show’ (Season 1, Episodes 12 and 13)
Tumblr media
This two-part season finale is set in the early 20th century and centres on a troupe of circus performance whose ringmaster won’t allow them to venture beyond a magical barrier. Overall, ‘Side Show’ isn’t especially creepy; it’s more of a fantasy story that feels like it could have been its own separate series. The advantage of this is that there’s more space for character development and worldbuilding. The disadvantage is that it doesn’t truly feel like part of the Creeped Out universe.
16. ‘A Boy Called Red’ (Season 1, Episode 5)
Tumblr media
Vincent and his dad aren't getting along, but when they go to stay at the latter’s childhood home, Vincent finds an unusual way to reconnect: via a time-travelling portal. The switches between past and present are handled admirably, and Boris Burnell Anderson is a standout as AJ. There’s a lot to like about ‘A Boy Called Red’; it just doesn’t stand out as especially memorable when compared to some of the stronger Creeped Out stories, perhaps because there’s no real antagonist.
17. ‘Bravery Badge’ (Season 1, Episode 7)
Tumblr media
A troop of Girl Guides—sorry, ‘Hedgehog Rangers’—head into the woods for a camping trip. When the girls start falling into a strange trance, it’s up to a moody, reluctant Ranger to save the day. The setting here is promising, the campfire scene is a highlight, and the urban legend about the missing troop is a great touch. Unfortunately, the good stuff is undermined by questionable acting and a somewhat ridiculous supernatural menace. Though I will admit the singing is quite creepy.
18. ‘Shed No Fear’ (Season 1, Episode 10)
Tumblr media
Set in the 1970s, with some decent period detail, this episode follows two boys as they battle a mysterious shadow-creature inhabiting an old shed. It’s cute to see Greg and Dave rekindle their friendship and tell the smarmy football captain to get lost, but the threat of the Shade is never particularly well-developed. The title also annoys me. Outside the context of this episode, nobody has ever uttered the phrase ‘shed no fear’. It isn’t even a good pun!
19. ‘The Unfortunate Five’ (Season 2, Episode 5)
Tumblr media
Five kids in detention meet their match in a seemingly sweet, yoga-loving teacher who pits them against each other. Establishing five protagonists and two villains within the space of 25 minutes is a tall order, and it’s one this episode doesn't meet. ‘The Unfortunate Five’ has a good concept and also boasts one of the series’ goriest images (when Faye attacks Hawkins and blood spatters across the glass—I’m kind of surprised CBBC didn’t cut that). But the flimsy, unmemorable characters doom it to the lower reaches of this list.
20. ‘Only Child’ (Season 2, Episode 7)
Tumblr media
This could have been great: the story of a girl being menaced by her demonic baby brother, while her parents are convinced she’s just jealous, has lots of potential. Yet ‘Only Child’ doesn't really work. The denouement is rushed and muddled (exactly how does Mia identify the link between the baby’s power and the feedback sound?) and the low-budget special effects don't help. It also suffers from being set entirely within the Tuthill family’s apartment, which looks like a cheaply decorated show home.
21. ‘Help’ (Season 2, Episode 3)
Tumblr media
A very meh installment about a brother and sister who are overly reliant on their family’s Amazon Alexa-like virtual assistant. It’s basically a weaker version of ‘Marti’ with a much less impactful message. The siblings are barely fleshed out, and the episode shares with ‘Only Child’ a sterile-looking set that doesn’t resemble a real family home at all.
22. ‘Spaceman’ (Season 1, Episode 8)
Tumblr media
If episodes like ‘Trolled’ and ‘No Filter’ represent what a show like Creeped Out should be, ‘Spaceman’ is exactly what it shouldn’t be. If ‘Cat Food’ proves how well humour can work within a scary story, ‘Spaceman’ shows exactly how it can go wrong. The tale of unlikely pals Spud and Thomas finding a crashed spaceship is by far the worst thing Creeped Out has come up with—it’s implausible, unfunny and not remotely creepy. Avoid.
