I have a smut/ slow burn angst idea for a fic but idk if anyone is interested in it as im still working on my writing skills and have no idea how to write smut. I guess to make it easier to explain; y’know how in the Fontaine archon quest you fight the big ass whale that eats you and teleports you somewhere? Yeah imagine you, reader, a god/goddess, or however you would like to be, ends up in the jjk universe. However its during the Heian era. Ya, guess who you run into? True form Sukuna in all his glory. He is automatically intrigued by you. A little adorable demigod suddenly appears out of no where. He takes you in, teaching you about his world, how Jujutsu works. You have some trust issues about him, truthfully, you feel as if something is off. I mean he’s huge and fucking scary looking. Four massive arms, black inky tattoos littering his skin, not to mention four eyes and a second face. You desperately try to find your way out of there. Yet slowly you begin to forget about the idea. But this place wasnt your home. Secretly, even Sukuna was reluctant to let you go. Uraume, his close equal noticed how even after such a short amount of time you managed to have the King of Curses wrapped around your tiny little finger.

"Osamu? You alright in there?" 

Your voice sounded muffled through the wooden door, and the cotton in his ears just made it that much harder to hear.

The tap kept running, the water so hot it steamed against the basin, rising and wisping across his face and leaving a dampness across his skin. His hands lay directly below the water, and he knows despite his nerves screaming from the cold feeling, they are experiencing a burn so intense the receptors cannot help but be confused by the extreme temperature.

He doesn't remember why he came in here or what he was doing before.

"...Osamu?" The door rattles for a moment. He can't tear his gaze away from the rushing water or his reddening skin. 

The bathroom door opens, and the sudden movement in the corner of his eye is enough to drag him out of the fog. His head moves just enough to look at you, eyes blinking slowly. 

"What?" He mutters, mouth heavy. His hands are still under the tap. He watches your face fall subtly. With gentle (kind, so kind) hands, you carefully push his hands out of the stream and turn the creaky faucet. The water stops abruptly, stray drops clinking against the sink. 

"Osamu, can you hear me?" You say, and your voice sounds closer than it had earlier. Everything does- the way your clothes crinkle as you move to open the cabinet and gather a collection of things he can't muster the energy to pay attention to, his breathing, the shuffling of your shoes. 

"Of course I can hear you." He answers, blinking heavily. He's present enough to feel a pinch of annoyance. Another episode, spacing out like an idiot when he could be doing anything else...like annoying Kunikida, napping, reading the same book for the 86th time,

Or talking to you. You said something again, didn't you? 

"I'm sorry, what was that?" He hummed, blinking to gather his bearings again. You'd gotten him to sit on the toilet, lid closed, while you gently dabbed a cooling gel onto his irritated skin. There's a jolt of fear when he realizes his bandages lay on the counter, unraveled messily and leaving him exposed. Dazai figures he must've taken them off while he was under. 

"I was just asking if you could hear me, Dazai-san." You say, smiling at him despite the concerned pinch of your brows. He nods, smiling in return.

"Yes, I can." He answers shortly. His skin itches where you touch, and he attributes it to the burns despite knowing touch has always felt vile to him. You put the burn gel on the counter and lean back, looking at him for a beat. He averts his eyes, shame clawing at his face. 

"You shouldn't stare at me like that. You'll give me the wrong idea." He teases, but it falls flat, and he knows it. You huff a tiny sigh, pick up a roll of bandages, and hold out your hand. 

"Let me?" You say, and your voice is so soft he leans forward like he was chasing the sound. His hair shifts with the movement when he nods. Your hands are on him again, and he focuses on keeping his breathing steady while your hands move to wrap his arms. The fabric settles familiarly against his skin, though these seem scratchier than the ones he prefers to buy. Your application is just as kind as you, not as tight as he often does, to keep them from unraveling faster. 

"I'm sorry." He says, and his voice falters in a way he had worked hard to never let you hear before. You finish off the first arm before saying anything, crouching so he'd be forced to look you in the eyes. You brace yourself against his knees, and the tingles that come from the touch aren't as pronounced this time. 

"Don't be. I don't mind, and I never will. Not if it's you, Dazai." You assure him, absently running your thumb across the fabric covering his knee. You stand again and gently take his other arm.

Dazai lets you, a mess of feelings that all feel like they burn across his skin, hotter than the water that had bitten at his hands.

"You shouldn't call me that, you know." He mutters, frowning. You pause, and he knows you tilted your head in confusion without even looking up.

"Call you what?" You answer, moving to wrap another loop around his arm. He grins. 

"You called me Osamu earlier, hm? It hurts my feelings to return to Dazai," He whines, and you startle with a little jolt. Dazai suppressed the smile that threatened to grow at your surprise. 

"Sorry, I- didn't think you could hear me, so I thought it would shock you if I used your name." You explained, voice small. He smiled this time, looking up at you. 

"Mm, smart of you. Still, you can call me Osamu. I like the way you say it." He says- eyes narrowed in that way he can't help. You fiddle with the bandage roll in your hands, and he's satisfied to make you flustered again. 

You settle with another sigh, resuming your task. With you so close, Dazai can see how you fight off a smile. It makes him feel like he's won, somehow- like seeing the worried crease on your face melt away was his only goal, and having done it makes his skin settle, no longer buzzing and crawling like it always does. 

"Sure, if you're alright with it then." You answer, smiling gently. He averts his gaze and lets you finish, feeling cold when you step away to put the things back into the medicine cabinet. He stands, mindful of the gel still on his hands, despite the urge to shove them into his pockets like he often does. 

You turn to him once you're done, a little nervous. He waits patiently for you to gather your words. 

"You shouldn't wrap your bandages so tight. It's not good for your circulation. I don't know how long you were like...that, but there were still marks from them on your arms. Please." You say, leaning your weight on the counter.

Dazai blinks at you for a moment, but he smiles and nods. 

"Alright, I'll try not to." 

You grin at his reply and exit the bathroom without another word. He follows, quickly turning off the light as you walk down the hall, back to the main room of Cafe Uzumaki. 

There's a lot left to say, he thinks. He knows you have questions about the scars that litter his arms, some clean and some jagged and painful-looking. He knows you want to help; it's in your nature to help.

He wants to ask you to say his name until it doesn't sound real anymore, wants to feel your hands on his skin again because he wants to know if the itch was really from you or the burn, and wants to let you bandage his arms every day because you do it with an amount of care he is sure he does not deserve. 

But walking up the stairs back to the agency (where Atsushi will look at him warily in fear of another report being bummed off to him, and Kenji will ask him if city folk always take hours in the bathroom) next to you, he finds he can't bring himself to be as selfish as to ask you anything more.

Doing that with Pantalone would be the cutest... He would be quite good at dancing just like all the Harbingers, but I think he'd have a special knack for it. Probably because his position requires him to attend more social events than the others so he's more adept than them. And of course, he'd bring his beloved along eventually! You'd initially be nervous no doubt, afraid of messing up and possibly tarnishing his reputation in front of all these fancy people. But your husband reassures you that you'll be fine, he'll take the lead.

When he randomly brings you closer to kiss you, you short circuit for a few moments (that wasn't in the rehearsals!) but Pantalone acts like nothing happens as he continues to twirl you around, save for the fact his smile is a tiny bit smugger. (You're going to get him back for that!)

In private though, you two are more relaxed, not needing to satisfy the prying eyes of others. Step on his feet a few times from how much he distracts you during the dance with his kisses. Break some rules of dancing, because when it's just the two of you, there are none.

"Watch out-" Kirby yelled, but was quickly cut off after being shot multiple times by officer Bailey. Your eyes widened when Kirby dropped to the floor. You were even more shocked when one of the ghostfaces came up behind Bailey. A second after, the second ghostface came up behind him. "W-what the fuck..?" You spoke, but it was almost a whisper. "You..?" Tara asked in shocked. "Ehh, of course me. Frankly I expected more from the three of you, especially after what you did to us." He spoke, more focused on Tara and Sam. "What do you mean us?" Tara asked confused.

The first ghostface revealed themselves and you felt as if you could have died on the spot. Your heart dropped to your stomach, "Ethan...?" You spoke, his name almost coming out as a whisper. He looked at you with a sense of dread and regret in his eyes, but somehow they were still filled with evil. "Surprise baby, bet you didn't expect to see me here, hm? You know, Mindy was right! It was easy to juke the roommate lottery." His regretful eyes fully turned evil as he looked away from you towards his father.

"What the fuck Ethan? I- I loved you!" Tears ran down your face, "I fucking loved you.." You spoke lowly. You felt Ethans eye's look into your soul but he never said anything. Maybe there was a part of him that regretted the whole thing? Of course not, he wouldn't have done all this if it was purposely to hurt you, right?

"But if it's you two, then that just leaves... Mindy?" Sam questioned, fearing her good friend was behind the killings. The last ghostface revealed themselves. "Quinn?!" You spoke in a shocked tone. "Hey roomies, didn't see that one coming, did you?" she asked, clearly proud of herself. "No because you died!" Tara yelled. "Kinda didn't though.. It was a good way to get off the suspect list. Stab Mindy, stab Gale Weathers." You were in utter shocked. You still couldn't comprehend that your boyfriend & friend were the ghostfaces.. and officer bailey.

"I mean, it was just a little fake blood, a prosthetic.. you'd be surprised with what a grieving father can get away with." Officer Bailey said, proceeding to walk toward the small group.

The three had surrounded you, sam, and tara. You thought you would be doomed and gutted by your own boyfriend, but Sam had the bright idea to grab the bricks laying right beside you. Though it wasn't the best weapon ever, it could definitely help you. "You guys ready?" Sam asked, looking back at both you and Tara. You nodded and looked at your boyfriend, "Come on motherfucker!" you yelled and you all charged at the three surrounding you.

You lunged at your boyfriend with the brick in your hand. He dodged your first attack, slicing the side of your arm. You managed to hit him on your second attempt, knocking him to the ground. Blood poured down from his hair, "Guys, over there!" Sam yelled pointing towards the ladder. Sam managed to grab Billy's knife from the ground before the three of you ran towards the ladder, climbing it as quick as possible.

Once you guys made it up the ladder, you guys tried your best to cross the balcony as slow as possible considering it was small. As you made you way across, your foot slipped causing you to fall. Tara and Sam managed to grab your arm before your fell. "Oh fuck, oh fuck!" You screamed, holding onto them for dear life. Ethan hadn't made it any easier because he tried grabbing and cutting you from below. "Ethan stop, why are you doing this?! I'm your fucking boyfriend!" You yelled at him, still clutching onto Tara and Sam.

"I need to, M/N! Maybe if it wasn't for your bitch sister I wouldn't be forced to do this!" He yelled back, still trying to grab you.

"Shit, I'm slipping! I don't think I can hold on!" You exclaimed. The blood on your guys' hand made it hard to hold on. "Let me go." You said, already knowing you may fall anyways. "No way, M/N! We aren't letting go!" Sam yelled back. "You have to let me go, Sam!" Sam and Tara heard footsteps from beside Sam and saw Quinn, her knife screeching on the rail as she walked closer to them. "Shit.." Tara mumbled. Luckily you had a plan.

You looked at Sam and then the knife she had on her. she nodded and gave you the knife before Tara and Sam let you go. You fell onto the floor. "Got ya, babe!" Ethan exclaimed, plunging the knife into your stomach. You winced at the pain but no noise came out of you. before he could do anything else, you repeatedly plunged your knife into his stomach. He yelled out in pain, dropping his knife onto the floor.

You pushed him onto the floor before climbing on top of him, lifting your knife in the air. Tears ran down your face as you looked at him. Memories of the two of you together came rushing to your mind as you continued to look at his face. "Do it.. M/N." He said, blood spilling out of his mouth and onto his chin. You nodded your head in disagreement, "No... no, don't- don't make me do this, Ethan.."

You knew he deserved to be killed for all the lives he took but you couldn't get yourself to do it. You didn't want to live with the guilt of knowing you murdered your boyfriend. "I'm so-sorry, M/N. I-...I'm sorry that... that I made you go through this." You lowered your knife before placing your other bloody hand on his cheek. "I-.. regret everything I did but... but you- you have to kill me."

You looked into his eyes with your teary ones, his pleading for you to end it all. "There has to- to be another way! Please Ethan I- I can't kill you. I don't wanna lose you!" You begged, wanting to do anything but kill your boyfriend. "M/N, please..!" His tears rolled onto down his face onto the ground. You nodded, finally giving in to his pleads. You lifted your knife in the air again before this time finally plunging it into his heart. You quickly kissed him one last time. He kissed back, but only for a second as his body came to a stop.

You pulled away from him, now staring at your boyfriends lifeless body, the knife still plunged into him. You cried out more, knowing he was officially gone.

You'd never be able to forgive yourself for killing your boyfriend.

My number one match for you is. . Guido Mista! He's quite the popular pick but quite honestly I feel like he would blend with your personality best.

Mista on his own is already an outgoing guy, so he's absolutely going to match your energy the second you get comfortable. He's friends with everyone the same way you are, but don't get me wrong, since he's hella supportive, the second you don't like someone, its we don't like him. You already know he's a goof, so he's gonna make you laugh and he thinks your laugh, especially the harder ones are absolutely adorable, even if you are running into people.

Mista also loves food no doubt, and will absolutely eat or sample anything you put in front of him (or he'll sneak in the kitchen while you're cooking just to taste, I mean can you blame him?). Just don't cut anything into fours.

I see Mista as someone who's smooth and romantic, so he can totally cater to all of those love languages, but he's not over the top like some other italians in this series. He'd respect your desire to not do any kind of PDA, but he still goes with you everywhere when he can, and once you're together alone it makes it all the more special when you're all affectionate.

Physically, he's a bit shorter but he is still taller than you (coming in around 5'10"). the riverwalk! it's basically like this giant strip of area along the chicago river with restaurants and bars and stuff<3 there's always music playing and people milling about and so many things to catch your eye! honestly i really like it at night, i think it's prettiest during sunset lol

the architectural boat tour. you literally just sit on a boat and some guy points out different buildings and tells you about its history and then you briefly go on the lake. i LOVEEEE taking people out on this, it's really really fun and you get good pics out of it. make sure to bring a jacket bc lake michigan. she is gorgeous and she is WINDY even in the summertime<3

obligatory millennium park/the bean mention. it's really fucking swarmed on the weekends so if ur not good with crowds avoid this area during that time but a good place to mill around! also to make fun of the bean. she is so ugly but she is a part of the city you know. (also it's right next to michigan avenue if you need to get a gift for someone/want to go shopping!)

wait obvi the sears tower + observational deck. if anyone calls it the willis tower you can spit on them. legally.

okay let's get into the museums. they're all cloistered around the same area (a bit past millennium park) so like. i guess you COULD try to see a bunch of them in one day but like. there's so much that you really can't feasibly do that lol

the art institute of chicago. MY FAVORITE PLACEEEEEEEE. i personally really like the medieval art exhibits + on the bottom floor is a really cool miniature exhibit where they showcast different rooms from different eras and theyre all SO tiny and SO cute. the food here's pretty good? lol

there's also the museum of contemporary art but the art institute has a pretty damn good modern art section but if ur really into that kind of stuff go here instead.

the poetry foundation!

field museum. LOVEEE this place. you can see sue the dinosaur<3 i once got in trouble here as a kid on a field trip bc i asked the guide how much of the shit there was stolen and they did not let me ask another question ):

adler planetarium + shedd aquarium + museum of science and industry -> these are also all in the same area. for all the museums they have days with discount prices so check that out before u go!

there's two zoos, lincoln park zoo and brooklyn. lincoln park is superior and also it's free and there's OKAPIS. GO SAY HI TO THEM FOR ME.

if you dont mind driving out a bit, there's the chicago botanic gardens around wilmette/glencoe (tied w the art institute as my fave place) and if you drive a bit further out to lisle there's the arboretum as well. they also do discount days!

if u drive out to the suburbs -> woodfield mall in schaumburg

for the museums and stuff i would really rec getting one of those city passes bc you get admission into a bunch of stuff either at a discount rate or it's included and it's WAY cheaper than getting individual tickets imo

ALSO. lake michigan. just in general. THE best of the great lakes and the truest love of my life.

if there's anything you wanna see u might check out the aragon before u come! same with ravinia. i fucking love ravinia it's great to sit on the lawn and listen to music during summer nights<3

EDIT: fucking forgot navy pier. if you come during august there's the air + water show. but also there's a ferris wheel there and that's fun. there's always something happening there on the weekends so you can always dip in just to see what's up

EDIT 2: there's some stupid fucking nascar thing happening in chicago rn that's blocking the roads so as long as u avoid that, you will be fine 👍

deep dish pizza is a must here. i dont care what people say about it, it's pizza. anyways my favorite place is lou malnati's (the lou especially) but giordano's is also really good. uno's is...whatever to me don't go there.

chicago hot dogs: SOOO many good ones. portillo's is a classic, superdawg, charcoal delights, byron's hot dogs..my personal fave is gene and jude's but it's a bit out of the city (it IS around o'hare the airport so if u can stop by then that would be best lol)

for korean food, you cannot beat cho sun ok. go and get their chadolbaegi and their mulnaengmyeon. killer combo. don't wear your best clothes here bc you will have to wash it bc of the (good!) smells. additionally you can go to joongbooshijang/joongboo market and outside there's a mandu/dumpling stand. their kimchi mandu and their red bean mandu. chef's fucking KISS.

for kabobs, noon-o-kabab or kabobi is my favorite! if you go for kabobi make sure you get their bamiyeh as dessert (^:

okay. im putting eataly on this list only because i like their dessert section on the first floor lol their tiny cakes + gelato always hits the spot

i looooveee goddess and the baker. bestttttt place for matcha/coffee and a sandwich. hero coffee bar is also pretty good but that one is a grab and go. oromo cafe is sooo good if ur into turkish coffee and pistachio and rose flavors. lots of vegan options there if you're into that. there's another one i love but i CANNOT remember the name of it for the life of me.

wait one last thing. frontera grill is like......really good. i went with my parents and it was nice, really fucking good flan lol

“Again?” Shuri said through a laugh of both humour and disbelief. This was the third time this week you had tried to scare her and every time you’d forgotten to take off your kimoyo beads that revealed your exact location. If she wasn’t so amused by your persistence and terrible hiding skills she would find this little game quite annoying. But she loved you and she loved winning so in that moment Shuri decided to play along…again.

In a dark corner of the lowest levels in the palace you stood still as a Dora. You were proud of yourself. Learning from your past failures you were dressed in black from head to toe and wore the plushest pair of socks you owned.

Your first attempt ended in Shuri asking what an oversized packet of bubble gum was doing sneaking up behind her. Reflecting on that day made you wonder why you thought wearing pink pyjamas and trying to sneak up on someone standing in front of a mirror was a good idea.

Shivering slightly from the cold floor of the lab, Shuri’s comments about your heavy rhino feet giving you away only stung a tiny bit but at the very least gave you some constructive criticism.

You were ready this time, today would be the day.

The zipping of the elevator informed you of her arrival. Your breath ceased and you proceeded with your best impression of a statue.

Even from the top of the lab Shuri could see you. Given her vision had enhanced significantly since drinking the heart shaped herb but even the oldest of council elders could see you standing in the corner trying not to breathe. At first Shuri thought to simply announce her arrival to make you aware of your fourth failure but just as the words were about to leave her lips the spirit of mischievous took over and she reached for the light switch.

At first you were confused and let out the breath you were holding ‘Was she locking up for the night??’ You thought in a panic ‘Oh no I’m gonna be stuck down here’ The perceived reality of the situation set in and you began to frantically feel around in the dark trying to navigate your way back to the elevator.

“Shuri? Shuri! Wait for me please, I'm still down here!” You pleaded to no response. Panic began to rise up your throat, not only were you stuck down here for the night but it was really dark and you hated the dark.

In a split second just as your foot contacted with the second platform you felt something wrap around your waist and pull you to the floor.

The scream that escaped your body would make even a Dora flinch. Your life began to flash before your eyes and you mentally began your apologies to Baast and your ancestors before a familiar laugh rang through your ears.

“Shuri!” You shrieked, eyes blinking feverishly trying to adjust to the low lighting.

“Griot, turn on the lights” Shuri's voice commanded through coughs and heaves and graced you with the gift of vision again. You turned to your loving girlfriend capsized on the floor laughing and your face began to heat up.

“It’s not funny,” You pouted “You could have given me a heart attack!” Shuri turned to your sulking frame, tears still forming in her eyes and cooed at you.

“I’m sorry love but you make it so easy”

Present Day

Shuri knew you were there. She knew because when she went to grab something from your shared bedroom your kimoyo beads were on the dresser, something you never do unless you both quarrelled in the morning ‘Must have learnt from last time' she left the room in search of her sneaky lover.

When she enquired her favourite AI assistant about what corner you had tucked yourself into Griot responded with

“I have been asked to withhold that information your Highness, my apologies” Shuri scoffed again, since when does an AI not follow her instructions, maybe her mother was right about that. Nevermind Griot’s disloyalty, she knew where you’d be hiding because it’s the same place you hid the other five times. The lab.

Arriving on the bottom floor the elevator doors opened to a suspiciously quiet laboratory. No heavy breathing, no stifled laughs, and no comically timed stomach grumbles. If Y/N was in here she was doing a great job at not making it known. Shuri shut her eyes. She was in search of any sort of clue to where you’d be hiding. She waltzed slowly through the lab whipping her head round corners and swinging closet doors open in an attempt to startle you. When she finished, it was as though a tornado had made its way through the room and yet still no sign of where her girlfriend was hiding.

‘Maybe we fought in the morning and I forgot?’ Shuri disregarded the silly idea because if you two did fight she would have felt a lot worse throughout the day. Shrugging her shoulders Shuri concluded that you must have been hiding somewhere else and she was going to find you.

They’re an avarage hight (keep your mouth shut allie!) skinny, lanky kid. They have red hair and a wild mulet-like haircut (its a wolfcut) green/gray eyes and usually dresses rather masculine to blend in with most of the other newsies. They have a tiny button-nose and usually wear a crooked grin.they’re hands are pale different to they’re face which is usually rather tanned

They prefer grandpa hats over newsboys hats but they wear one if they got no other. Will talk about the rest of clothes and style later bcs *see bottom*

They have a temper as fire-y as their hair (ty for that one @ykthefancyclamwiththepearlinside ) and prolly get into fights a lot. I actually think they would get a fire related nickname sooner or later. Which is ironic since they’re actually scared of fire and more of a water person anyway. they’re a sewer and from manhattan. They can’t do maths for shits and always need to turn to elmer or racetrack with it. They are however great at pickpocketing. In general just quick and clever woth their hands. So great, in fact, you might as well call them the hermes of the newsies /j.they only ever got caught once and managed to steal snyders keys while still on the way to the refuge. They have a weird obsession with turtles. AThey have a weird way of hyperactiveness, can never concentrate and hyper focus on things for up to a few months before simply dropping it and moving on to the next one. They also have a weird talent to memorise unnecessary stuff but forget important things(i wonder how that all relates)

They’re hungarian and love to sell around the bowery with buttons. The blush easily. Prolly somehow related to Albert and if not sees him as a brother figure anyways. (Not only because they relate on the hair department AND ALL THE BAD FUCKING JOKES -looking at you racer-) they have a really shitty blood circulation and pass out all the time.

sypnosis: (im sure the title makes this self-explanatory but) in which i tell you all about my first impressions and journeys as a carat. (i like summed it all up so its super short)

a/n: i havent been a carat for tooooo long but nonetheless it makes me feel pretty happy to see ive come as a carat as well as how the group themselves have grown over the years c:

how did it start.. oh right. when i first came around seventeen or seen something about them it was actually back in may of 2021 from a clip i saw on youtube i saw of them on knowing brothers. this clip was when the mcs of the show were trying to guess all of the members’ names and it was the8’s turn.

i remember watching minghao doing that flip or wtv (sorry i dont remember what its called lol) n after he was all cool and stuff. and lowk i was like ‘oooooo.. hes kinda cute’ hehe. and honestly that was kinda it.

you see, it was in 2018 i was actually a k-pop stan yk during the prime era of kpop. obviously over the next 2-4 years i had lost focus. but, when i came back, that video was one of the many i had watched on youtube about kpop. and when i came back, i became a skz fan. i remember felix was my ult bias and that was that.

but that was until i came across an episode of going seventeen. pretty infamous right? god, i remember watching that episode when they were planting rice (ver-paddy) and i was hooked. i had never laughed so much, it was like my spark had come back. i say that because when i re-entered the kpop fandom, i wasn’t at the highest point of my life. so laughing that much over one video on youtube made me so happy. that was when i knew that i needed to find out who this group was and where i can watch more episodes.

that was when i realized that the group i was watching was seventeen: the group with that one cute guy with gray hair and glasses (the8)! also when i realized that vernon was in seventeen (i knew and recognized vernon bc if his cover with jeongyeon, do i need to keep explaining? i didn’t think so).

although, when i started looking into the members, one caught my eye and it was safe to say it was not the8. it was LA boy hong joshua. idk what it was really but i thought he looked so idk— beautiful. so thats what it was for me. i started stanning the group and having joshua as my new ult bias in june 2022. sadly, over time, my interest in skz started to decline. it wasn’t that skz wasn’t great, they are, y’know how it is right?

that was how my journey started. i started listening to their music, getting into going seventeen, binge-watching like all the seventeen related videos i could find on youtube, and most importantly: going through hell trying to learn all of the members.

oh. my. god. hey, you know, it took some time, but i got there! (i always messed up woozi and hoshi) um.. anyways. as time went on, obviously i was able to experience the feeling of waiting to watch their new comebacks and such. and honestly, i don’t mean to be one of those people, but seventeen genuinely brought my spark back. i had, and still, never been so interested in something until them.

around 5-6 months later, it was in novemeber 2022 when i was pretty settled into the group when my thoughts and views started to change. i was starting to focus on new members. i honestly don’t remember at all how this started but jeonghan caught my eye. and i was hooked.

idk.. hes js so.. im sure u know what i mean!!! i mean who wouldn’t? like, have you seen jeonghan? oh lordy lord. he was so beautiful yet fine yet cute yet literally all of the above. i sound like one of those crazy fans. PLEASE GUYS I PROMISE IM NOT LIKE THAY JUST HEAR ME OUT A TINY BIT. let a girl be delulu PLS. ok now im gonna continue being delulu for a sec thanks.

uh. yeah! but in all seriousness, i’m so happy that i was able to come across such an amazing group. time has passed so much and it’s crazy for me to understand that i’ve been already been a carat for almost 2 years. (pls help me ive watched like every gose episode and inside seventeen episode like 50 million times each, but honestly i’ll never get tired of it).

i’m so proud of seventeen after everything they’ve gone through. watching them win their first daesang made me feel so happy for them, they absolutely deserve it. from practicing together in a small, green walled room to selling out almost all of their shows and stages they perform on, seventeen has grown so much as not just a group but individually.

i just know that if seventeen’s predebut self saw their lives now their joy would just be through the roof. as one of the most looked-upon sunbaenims in their industry, i’m sure most people can agree seventeen tops their line of style when making music.

and i’m also so glad i decided to be a carat. i love the fandom, like i can be on tiktok for hours just laughing watching carats post the funniest memes and compilations as well as making the stupidest tweets. i can very much vouch carats are one of the most funniest, supportive fandoms out there.

let's go 20 fashion history facts. most of my knowledge is primarily from western countries and 19th-20th century, just as a little disclaimer. also this is stream of consciousness infodump so you can fact check and tell me if i got stuff wrong. some may be well known, others more obscure, im just happy to talk

in the 1940s, a lot of traditional beauty products were in short supply bc of the war and rations, so people had to get creative. one example is that fabric was being rationed so shorter simpler dresses and less hats. thats why the 1940s is known for all the really elaborate hairstyles.

a lot of things that we call corsets aren't actually corsets. if it's before the 19th century, support garments were called stays. also corsets weren't evil torture devices, they're just like bras that distribute the weight of the bust through the abdomen rather than the shoulders. they were only dangerous when worn incorrectly or ill-fittingly, kinda like wearing the wrong bra size.

bellbottom pants had their roots in older navy uniforms. the idea is that if you go overboard, you can tie off the ends of your pants to be used as floatation devices. my grandfather was in the navy and during my 70s fashion era, he told me that cool little fact.

a lot of makeup throughout the ages was made using what you had available. one of my favorite examples is carmine, a red pigment that was used in rouge, lip products, and blush. carmine is made from bugs!! isnt that cool?

pretty much everything that has ever trended has trended before, we call this nostalgia cycles, usually it's every 30 years but it can be as short as 10 years. for example, the 2010s was interested in replicating some 80s aesthetics, the same way we're seeing that with the 2000s now.

my favorite fashion subcultures in recent history is the mod look from the early-mid 1960s. it was built around rebelling from the restriction of 50s. this came from less structured dresses, shorter skirts, bright colors, and expressive eye makeup. if you think about it, the mod look is kind of a 30-40 year nostalgia cycle with the flapper movement of the 1920s.

speaking of subcultures, theyre all started by marginalized people working with what they have. prime examples are the punk and grunge movement being very proletariat in origin, most of the fashion staples are what people could get secondhand/cheap. this is your reminder that you dont need to buy from "punk" brands to dress punk, work with what you got! have fun, get creative, tear shit up, upcycle it, decorate how you want, add pins and stuff!!! :D

tight-laced corsets were not common during the Victorian/Edwardian. in the photos of women with seemingly tiny waists, those were often created with padding the bust and hips. photo editing also existed, it's always been there, it was usually painting in parts of the photo. setting the subject up in front of a dark background, using lots of contrast, and then you can use a bit of black paint on the photograph to make the waist smaller.

Okay, new day new me, I'm actually in my right mind and not impulsively writing things down after being awake for more than 24 hours lmao. So here's what's up.

So, right now the first gen children have moved out of Eira's house into their own households. They've kinda solidified baseline personalities and interactions (and family dynamics from parenthood) so i let them loose in the world. (To live as if they're Stanley Humphry.) Eira isn't the richest mom tho, so I staggered it out so I could give them like, 5k-10k to start off. So they all started by living in tiny barely furnished shacks. I normally get money in the sims by grinding, and in the actual legacy challenge they're super rich, but I wanted to try building up their wealth through odd jobs and work. Get them different incomes and all that. I also want to build them unique housing / decorate their areas according to them so that's also on the books. (because i didn't bother with them before :p)

And to give me a more thought out clothing design. To get into the mindset of teens i had all the kiddos wearing school uniforms (from snowy escape lol) and since I haven't really been them too much, i haven't gotten around to doing all their fashion since. BUT THE POINT IS technically i haven't played as most of these. Just a little bit, I've mostly committed to Lamia (by accident;;)

Okayyyyyy, so this is how it's going:

GUYS I LITERALLY CANNOT CHANGE HIS HAIRSTYLE. I was like, this is a very distinct sims hairstyle. BUT I CYCLED THROUGH EVERYTHING AND I CAN'T, IT FRAMES HIS FACE BETTER AND SEEING HIS HAIRLINE NOW SCARES ME.

What started has his emo, dye-ing my hair now mom, has gone too fair ;; __ ;;

But yeah, Phoenix is the same physically. I've just dressed him up as a more of a starving artist since he's out here painting in a tiny shack. I'm pretty sure that's going to change soon tho, since painting does actually give good money (probably unrealistic but :p). He's gotten the gloomy, dog lover, and family oriented. In the last save he had his house "open to dogs", so thats a nod to that. family oriented is kinda more because of his older sibling status, and he has a good relationship with his whole most of his family (and he loves them all very much, even the brats). Im still figuring out where he lands on the love things, because i've had him be a player in some saves but also he's more a reserved person so i can't image him being that out there in this version. I'm figuring it out <3

He's living in a tiny home (because i say so) and has a nice backyard pool area. He's under the recycle challenge, mostly as a nod to his upbringing out in the middle of nowhere, conservation is important.

Lamia is the most overall different from them all. I didn't really have anything going on with her character at all, besides what i later realized was a comedy aspiration, not a party one (oops). Her character is really shaped by the manners her mom instilled into her now, so she's in more conservative dressings because of that. I kept her hat as a nod to her previous version.

The vision is that she goes through her era of struggling artist (playing gigs and teaching lessons) and works as a normal salary worker (manners: she's trying to live up to the "has a normal job and will do fine for herself mom i promise i can pay bills"). Her piano-ing is more of a side gig but she really loves it so she doesn't want to stop doing it. Most of her parties at this point is so that she can break up the monotony of life. She ends up catches eyes of someone famous and is catapulted into doing more high end jobs. It makes her parties have a more exclusive guest list (not super famous but still really well known) and her high pay grade allows her to quit her job. She's pretty famous now (by the general public as a socialite, by more music-centric crowd as a pianist) and lives pretty comfortably.

Basilisk is the point where i start saying i got nothing. He's got the slob and kinda jock personality, but truly im looking for something else to flesh him out with. But he's the buff one of the bunch. Traits of slob, bro, and foodie, i haven't gotten around to updating his wardrobe. He's closest with Lamia, though the eldest three make a bit of a trio since they grew up the closest in age. He was team captain of the sims football team tho since the sports in the sims is so limited im debating changing the sports (but football would be fitting because he's a tank). He has piss-poor manners, but he's really in touch with emotions, having strong empathy for people. He's also the reason most of his siblings are fitness freaks; he convinced his mom to makeshift a basketball hoop that they used a lot in childhood. The biggest offenders were Sphinx, Phoenix, and Lamia. He challenged Phoenix in football and Lamia in basketball, but Sphinx just liked sneaking into his fitness gear the scrawny bastard.

Griffin and Sphinx still out here twinning hard. Eira must've had a blonde gene from her parents because three blond children can't be a coincidence wow. Freckles were also unexpected. I don't have anything to say about clothing preferences here either. Griffin was on the chess team? and Sphinx as a lazy person was not in any afterschool things, preferring to tinker. Both of them work on the handiness side of things, but i like to think Griffin is into woodworking and Sphinx is into metalworking (his type of jewelry he makes for his family is lacking in the gem department). I have Griffin working as a civil planner ingame, and Sphinx is unemployed selling jewelry at home (its.... its going. I only played like 3 days though to start off).

Griffin is more applied in general (was valedictorian), being clumsy, overachiever, and a bro. Sphinx is lazy, perfectionist, dance machine. Sphinx was one more for sneaking out (mostly out into the forest), once and a while teaming up with Lamia to go to some party (school mate get together) after curfew. They're both little shits, still living up to the mischievousness, but Griffin hated Lamia with a burning passion, and Sphinx really got annoyed with Phoenix's dramatics (neither dared anger basilisk too hard). And, yes, they teased their little sisters as well but they didn't despise them as much as their elder siblings got on their nerves for daring trying to have superiority over them. Eira had a time with them. Got stuck doing many chores as punishment. Griffin is pretty insensitive, but he's gotten really good at *dealing* with his own emotions. He's chill like that. Sphinx meanwhile gets into way more trouble being irresponsible, but he's great at resolving his conflicts.

Nephele has changed as much as phoenix. Aka, she's just had a skin changed, mostly because i didn't want to mess with her too much considering her genes are he one's carried onto the next gen. Gen 03's heir does happen to take over her father more though, but she has her mom's blond hair, so we kept that. She looks like she has such a baby face, but you can see she has Eira's eyes (WHICH IS A TREND, THEY ALL HAVE HER EYES).

I've been trying to make her seem more polished, mostly because I had her be a secret agent in the past (i don't even know how to integrate that into anything ;; __ ;;), and i haven't changed her wardrobe yet either. She also is well mannered so that's a part of it. Personality wise, she's neat, foodie, and socially awkward. She's used to picking up after her family as mostly trying to help out her mom with the hecticness of an 8 person household, and when she was old enough she did the cooking as well. But, her mom being an excellent cook, made her standards for food really high (it's why basilisk is a foodie too). Retreating into working like this was also kinda coping for being terrible conversationalist. (With the neat trait she autonomously cleans things too which is really funny. It's like she can't help but clean even things that other people think are already clean.) She tag-teamed with Griffin on fixing anything throughout the house though. She has a strong personality however, being the type of person who has people she likes, people she doesn't, and they don't change. She doesn't like to apologize (it's like pulling teeth) and likes to be seen as correct.

Arachne I've played a little more of too. Mostly because she was left alone in the household with Eira once all her siblings moved out. But she became an accomplished writer at a young age (so, a really well receiving book that will forever be remembered and a lot of other pretty big hits). I had her go through a redemption, mellowing in her original version, but I really liked the punk thing she had going on before that i decided to keep the kind of rebellious aesthetic.

She was supposed to be a spoiled brat but in a big household its too much to be doing that kind of thing me thinks. She gets more irrationally angry, but she's a perfectionist in her craft, and grows up to be a wee self absorbed. She grows up to fame because of her books (it was pretty out of nowhere fame) so i gave her slightly more daring clothes than her siblings. She's super argumentative though, she feels all her emotions super strongly. She has the healthy outlet of writing however so she is able to regulate, even if it takes a bit.

why i think blessed-cursed is inspired / takes influences from the matrix .

hello this is yun welcome to my theorist era!! immediately when i read the lyrics i was just like. HOLY CRAP THIS IS LIKE THE MATRIX INSPIRED. im going to cover: lyrics in the song that relate to the matrix, aesthetics/little easter eggs in the music video. i might also be really bad at this and it might make no sense but ... im just rlly excited about this theory lol. i’ll probably make a follow up post soon after i rewatch the matrix franchise because these are just my initial thoughts after watching the mv and from what i remember from watching the franchise. also.. tagging people who told me that i should make this post or called me big brain for this so. thanks guys @jungwoniics @4sh @ryuflix​ 😄

 LINES FROM THE SONG.

1. “WAKE UP, OPEN YOUR EYES NOW, IN THIS FAKE BLESSING.” so, i’m going to explain the basics. in the matrix franchise, the matrix is a simulated reality modelled after the real world. i believe, the “fake blessing” enhypen talks about is a simulated reality like the matrix. 

2. “LUXURY DRAPED ON MY BODY, BLINDING ME LIKE A BLUE PILL.” this line is pretty heavily inspired by the matrix. the titular character in the matrix, neo, is given a choice. to choose between a red pill (which will allow him to know the truth behind the matrix), and a blue pill (which will allow him to forget everything related to the matrix). the line “blinding me like a blue pill” makes me wonder if there’s something in the enha lore that is wanting the boys to not know the truth behind something important. 

3. “BOUNDARIES HOLDING ME IN, TO HELL WITH YOUR RULES.” this one is smth im a little unsure of. also, i only watched the first matrix movie and the most recent one (i am sorry... i might go watch the others and make a follow up post if i find that there are more relations). but, the main premise of the franchise is that they’re rebelling against the machines and the matrix. so, i’m thinking that enhypen are rebelling against an unknown force (or maybe we know who it is, i’m just not going to delve into that right now). 

4. “DON’T WANNA STAY, CAUSE’ NOW I REALISE THE TRUTH.” this line reminds me of the titular character of the matrix, neo. he realises the truth about the matrix, and alongside with morpheus and the others, they rebel against the machines. 

5. “IN THIS CURSE, I’LL BE OKAY, NO PAIN, NO PAIN.” this might make so much sense or absolutely none at all, but this line is making me think that they’re calling the “real world” a curse. because all this time, they’ve been thinking that the matrix-like simulation is a blessing, only just realising it’s fake. i don’t even know how to explain it and i have no idea why they’re even calling the “real world” a curse, but it wouldn’t make sense for them to say that in the “fake blessing”, they’ll be okay. if the “fake blessing” is indeed a simulated world like the matrix, and the boys know the truth behind it, wouldn’t they want to act the way that neo did, rebelling against the machines?

6. LINES RELATING TO LIES, REALITY, AND REAL LIFE. there are multiple lines that mention lies, reality, and real life - which is pretty much... similar to the matrix. there’s not really much to say.

AESTHETICS / EASTER EGGS.

1. BLUE / RED THEME. now this seems pretty heavily influenced by the concept of the blue pill and red pill. in the first chorus, they’re all wearing blue. in the second, they’re all wearing red. i think this is a really clever little trick from the director of the mv (props to them!) to show how enhypen has uncovered the truth behind the fake blessing. the blue pill, as i’ve said before, allows you to forget everything related to the matrix, and the red, allows you to know the truth. this shows how during the course of the mv, enhypen “fade into reality”, just like what the lyrics say. 

2. “GOODBYE 1999, HELLO 2000!” in the first clip of the mv, we see this. 

if you can’t see the tiny text on the building, it says “goodbye 1999″, and in the next second, it says “hello 2000″. it’s a funny little connection, but the first matrix movie, just so happens to have been released in 1999. 

3. “OUR ANSWER IS NO / DON’T BUTT IN, YOU FOOLED ME, I DON’T BUY IT .” okay this is from the concept photos, and after watching the mv, i think i know what they mean by this now. there might be something that’s trying to convince the boys that there’s no such thing as the “fake blessing”, and these are their responses to that certain person. they’ve realised that they’re being fooled, and they won’t tolerate it. i don’t know why i’m getting this certain feeling that there might be an offer involved, just like how neo made an offer with the analyst in the matrix: resurrections. 

4. YET / NO CONCEPT PHOTOS. this is going to be brief, but i think that the concept photos of YET are from AFTER the period of time where the mv takes place, after they “dived into reality” and uncovered everything. i believe the NO concept photos are set in the same time period as the mv. 

5. MINIATURE FIGURE PEOPLE (DOLLS?) okay, im not really sure what to call them, but i noticed in the concept photos, there are tiny little... miniature figures. i think this symbolises the people who are unaware that the “blessing” is fake.

JUNGWON & THE LIAR: A THEORY. 

in the concept photos, there’s a picture of a hand holding one of the miniature figures, with the word “Liar” over it. this is my theory on how jungwon is related to the liar, and plays a key role in the lore behind the music video.

1. RED THEME. i noticed how jungwon, seems the be the only person with an entirely red background in his solo shots. i’ve already explained the meanings behind the blue and red pill already, so i won’t explain that again. i’m thinking that he has the most connections related to the “fake blessing”. i think some people are going to say that ni-ki has red too in his background, but honestly i see that colour as orange... but if it is red, i’m sure he could be related to the “fake blessing” too. everyone else, has a either blue, white, or black as the colour most shown in their background, with the exception of jake, who has a tiny bit of red. i personally believe, that this is the director telling us that jungwon has always known about the “fake blessing” existing. he has always known that it is a simulated universe. 

2. “CURSED”. in the NO concept photos, jungwon has “cursed” tattooed above his eyebrow (he looks so good, i almost fainted after seeing those pictures). the song title is called blessed-cursed, as we all know. there is a fake blessing involved, as i’ve talked about before. i’m sure “cursed” being tattooed above his eyebrow is no coincidence. if it’s a “fake blessing”, we can assume it’s actually a curse instead (but nobody seems to know that except for enhypen, in their lore). i personally believe that this “curse” is jungwon knowing about the “fake blessing” existing. 

BLACK SUITS: A THEORY

everything i’m about to say completely contradicts everything i’ve said before, but it’s just something i’ve noticed. maybe i read into things too deeply, but then again, there’s lots of lore behind many of enhypen’s music videos waiting to be uncovered.

as shown in the picture, jungwon is wearing red. the other boys are in black suits. their suits feel awfully similar to what agent smith, the main antagonist of the first movie wear. my theory here, is that the rest of the boys, are agents. just like agent smith. 

yes, this sounds crazy. i understand. 

but, when you keep the lyrics in mind, it makes sense.

“don’t wanna stay, cause now i realise the truth.” they realise the truth about the fake blessing. if you keep the rest of the boys except for jungwon being agents theory in mind, this implies that they leave. quit their job, if it’s possible in the lore of the enhypen universe. 

they realise that the “blessing” that they were promised was actually a lie, making the sentence “you fooled me, i don’t buy it” from the concept trailer a direct response to the person controlling the simulated reality that they call “the fake blessing.”

i will add more to this soon. it’s a developing theory, and i need to watch the matrix a couple more times.
