sometimes I wake up In a cold sweat thinking about the idea that kilgharrah was just using merlin to get the outcome he wanted which was to end the pendragon bloodline. That he knew how it would end and that without merlin it wouldnt all occur, so he convinces him that all his decisions will help save arthur knowing damn well where it leads them.

Well, as usual my fic plans got a bit hung-up by some IRL nonsense (managed to catch COVID, and while I was sick my laptop bit the dust, so I'm only just getting back to restocking my Tumblr queue and re-arranging my fic schedule now that the new one is here.)

That said, here is my planned fic schedule for the the rest of September and October. (I've planned my publication schedule through the end of the year, and will release it a month at a time.)

9/26/24 - "Soft Kitty, Warm Kitty" - TM3B3 #3. Some warm, silly shenanigans (for once) featuring Meowcah Bell and Jack Marston.

9/29/24 - "Like A Drowned Rat," Whumpcember Day 14 - "Drowning" - Ch. 2 limp!Arthur, reluctantly-heroic Micah.

10/1/24 - 25DCC, Ch. 14 - "Getting Snowed In" - 1896. Jake and Sadie Adler find ways to pass the time during their first blizzard together.

10/4/24 - "Cloghinne Winds," Whumpcember Day 15 - "Hallucinating" (idea inspired by @tiredcowboyy ) - 1907. Dutch Van der Linde angst/grief, hurt-no-comfort.

10/7/24 - 25DCC, Ch. 15 - "Icicles" + "Someone Spiked the Eggnog!" - 1910. A day of fun and frolicking in the snow in the MacGuire-Jones-O'Shea household, followed by a night of mischief and merriment (and eggnog.)

10/10/24 - "Ringing A Bell," Whumpcember Day 16 - "Head Injury" - pre-canon/pre-John, injured!Hosea and worried! Dutch & Arthur

10/13/24 - "Where There's Smoke," Whumpcember Day 17 - "Fire" - Ch. 3, feat. scared!Jack and heroic/hurt!John

10/16/24 - 25DCC, Ch. 16 - "Family invited an old crush/first love to a dinner party." - 1885. Dutch and Hosea plan an early Christmas dinner, with a surprise visitor for Arthur.

10/19/24 - "New Roles, Old Pains," Whumpcember Day 18 - "Chronic Pain" - post-1907/pre-1911. Hurting!John, supportive/caring!Abigail.

10/22/24 - 25DCC, Ch. 17 - "Cuddling With Them" - 1910. Charles catches Arthur's flu and gets doted on by his very guilty husband.

10/24/24 - "Down To the Wick," Whumpcember Day 19 - "Exhaustion" - Ch. 3, post-BATPM. Unable to stand by and watch while Arthur withers away from infection before his eyes, Charles spends his time taking up Arthur's share of the work as well as his own. It goes about as well as you'd expect.

10/27/24 - 25DCC, Ch. 18 - "Big Hugs from Family" - 1903. Bill Williamson/Wendell White/Sampson Black. Bill gets into trouble while hunting for game to feed himself and his new partners through the holidays. Their reaction is not one he was expecting.

10/30/24 - "A Hog-Killin' Time," Whumpcember Day 20 - "Drugged" - Ch. 3, post-BATPM. Hurt!Drugged!Arthur Morgan.

10/31/24 - "Let Sleeping Dogs Lie," TM3B3 #4. Micah's mischief-making goes too far when he scares little Jack and makes him cry. "Papa Wolf" Marston is none too happy, and enlists the help of Arthur, Sean, and Charles to deliver some well-deserved payback.

sometimes im like ‘hmm is canon merthur a bit one sided? I mean its clear how much merlin cares for arthur but-‘ and then I remember arthurs KING/ROYALTY. This is his manservant. He’s also married/in love for a lot of the show. He also had a huge army some of which are close friends. And yet he canonly goes out of his way to spend the most time with merlin, tells all his secrets to merlin, completely unquestionably trusts merlin and aside from being the most oblivious blonde planet earth has ever seen, he still knows how to read merlins emotions and when hes acting different, something he cant do as easily with others. A guy who is supposed to just wash his clothes, clean his armour and bring him food. And yet arthur tries to always make sure merlins ok. Again sure captain blind to the obvious sometimes misses things, but when he sees it he actively tries to fix it.

I remember how merlin isnt supposed to do half the stuff he does in the show, but he does it because he wants to protect arthur and he cares for him sure, but arthur LETS HIM. Arthur wants merlin to go on all these journeys. The amount of places he goes and takes only merlin, no knights, no wife, nothing. Just merlin. He wants merlin around that much that the quests he cant tell him about he doesnt, but he still takes him because he wants merlin there.

Arthur while DYING asks where merlin has been when he wakes up and sees him, even though merlin had told him before camlan why he couldnt go (lie sure but we move). Arthur wanted merlin. Arthur doesnt mean ‘where have you been? What was you doing that meant you couldnt come?’ He means ‘im hurt and this is the first time in ten years that you wasnt there, Where have you been? Why wasnt you quicker because I knew you was coming but what took you so long?’ And that really just makes my bones melt.

I always find the posts/fics where leons just so over witnessing merthur pining so funny. Like that man really had to see them from the start and the tension between them grow and he just had to sit and watch. Like I imagine every time a new knight joined they all brought the weird vibes up and leon each time was more and more over it.

Like it stared w lance early on being like

Lance: hey leon, is it just me or are arthur and merlin lowkey pining for each other

Leon: oh thank god! Someone finally brought it up, yeah theyve been like this for a while-

But then ended up as

Percy talking to the knights as they watch merlin and arthur bicker (read: flirt): ok but, does it seem like theyre fli-

Gwaine, sounding exhausted: yeah theyve been like this for a while

Percy: really? And theyve still not done anything about it?

Leon the long suffering, whose now had to watch them for almost 10 years: *eye twitch* nope.

I like the idea that if camlan never happened and everyone lived happily every after, when arthur figured out merlin has magic he decides to repeal the ban on magic. And people realise why. Shortly after its been repealed, people start asking merlin to ask the king for things, on behalf of himself.

E.g “hey arthur, I think maybe we should plant more flowers around the town” “i think it would be a good idea to move the knights training to midday.” “Arthur I was thinking maybe the kitchen could do with new supplies”

And every time arthur agrees, sure he might pick the ideas apart or pretend they were his own ideas but everyone quickly learns that if you want something, you dont ask the king, you ask merlin.

can someone write/find a fic where merlin finds out hes the druid king and that across albion it is still recognised as a king so either king arthur or prince arthur and king uther have to just accept that the idiot servant is suddenly at an equal rank to them and therefore they have to treat him w nothing but respect.

Like I just want merlin to be like ‘wait so im the king? does that matter outside of the druids or…?’ and him find out that yes he is equal to the pendragons and just let him turn to arthur with the biggest shit eating grin

I love the idea that arthur notices and confronts him like “why are you acting like we’re married??” And merlins like “because we are? Isnt that what the sigil means?” And arthurs all flustered like “yeah I KNOW that, but how do YOU know that??” Bc the sigil was his secret way of showing merlin his undying love and he didnt expect him to actually know what it meant.

a concept: Merlin finds out about the whole sigil thing and just starts acting like he and Arthur are married with no explanation
