Two heads aren't better than one AU

You know how there are AUs where a Rise turtle swaps bodies with one of their counterparts?

What I wouldn't give for an AU where Rise Donnie is sharing a body with one. Especially if it's the other turtle's body. Him trying to fight off Rise Donnie as he tries to cut their mask tails short and draw on eyebrows. Not to mention the flood of intrusive thoughts. Why is his first thought always violence!?

Bonus points if it's the counterpart's fault they're in this situation and they're not exactly sure what they did. Is there another person in their body? Did they accidentally create an alter ego? Are they possessed!? They're starting to think performing experiments after three days without sleep might be a bad idea.

I personally like 03 Don. Their universe has the closest thing to mystics and if I remember right he stole two helicopters in the series. He's just enough chaotic to possibly go along with some of Rise Donnie's ideas while still trying to be the voice of reason.

"I need to fix this! …What's that about a tech bō?"

Could also see him trying everything in his power to pretend everything is normal with the others while Rise Donnie is trying his best to talk 03 Don into world domination plans. Seeing how a lot of the real bad stuff that happens to 03 Don isn't addressed in the series later, I'm going to assume he just keeps a lot of it to himself. This will be one of those things.

Both Donnies are sleep-deprived from staying up all night trying to figure out what's going on. 03 Leo tries to take the coffee away from them to make 03 Don sleep. Rise Donnie, used to his Leo doing that just casually hisses and bites Leo's arm. It's not hard enough to break the skin but that doesn't mean it doesn't hurt.

03 Leo just blinks and stares back at 03 Don in shock until he can gain back control and let's go. Rise Donnie feels personally offended by how dull 03 Don's teeth are. Not even a mark! Yes, 03 Don would rather not injure his brother. This just confuses Rise Donnie because why not, it's Leo.

Rise Donnie may not understand their relationship here, but stealing coffee should be instant maiming regardless.

Oh! Another reason 03 Don works best with this? Good genes. The others see him acting more feral and aggressive and fearing some kind of relapse. Everyone is panicking about different things while trying to hide it from the others.

I love that head canon that Rise Donnie hates things like needles and checkups. I want them to call Leatherhead to help run tests and have to pry Don off the ceiling.

Imagine if they start blurring together if they share a body too long. It getting harder and harder to tell who thinks what.

03 Mikey would definitely be Rise Donnie's favorite because he is also unhinged. 03 Mikey is not sure if he should tell the others when 03 Don asks if he wants to do something that 03 Don normally would never do but sounds like so much fun, or just do the fun thing. … He'll tell them after, just in case Don was joking. He wasn't joking, the best day of 03 Mikey's life!

Here's another au I've been working on and thinking about! It's called Glitched out! I got inspired by other 2003 and rise crossovers! (Ghost in a shell by @bluepeachstudios being quite a big inspiration lmao)

I've been watching the 2003 show and then it hit me that I wanted to see different takes on how it would be for a different brother to go missing! But it's due to very different circumstances! (If you consider shredder ripping your molecules apart to find the prime turtle verse lmao)

Essentially, this takes place during and after turtles forever (the crossover movie between 1987 tmnt and 2003 tmnt). The beginning is the main part of the 'during' bit.

I wanted to finish writing the first chapter before posting this (seeing as this is the cover for the story) but I got WAY too excited about getting it out into the world! I can't wait to post more X3

The woman on the left is called Dorothy while the girl on the right is called Scarlet.

This is their designs in the TMNT 2003 series. Had this in my files for a while now so let me finally post these two.

Dorothy is Scarlet's adoptive mother. While not much is known about Scar's childhood but she was left at an orphanage by her biological parents (Scarlet doesn't remember much about them other then them leaving her) where Dorothy then found her and took her in (Scarlet was either 3 or 4 when she got adopted) and basically raised her as her own. That's all I'ma say okay have a nice day.

An AU in which Casey and April went to high school together, they had a few classes together like art and auto mechanics, but didn't really know each other well enough to fully stay in touch after graduation.

Fast forward a few years when Casey is pretty well established as a bat weilding vigilante with the boys, as has a particular beef with the Dragons because of his father's murder and the destruction of his family's store.

The two reunite when April knocks Casey's lights out when he, thinking she's been captured by the Dragons, tries to "rescue her".

Shenanigans ensue and April is later injured and turned on by the Dragons, leaving her no choice but to show up injured at Casey's door.

Needless to say Casey is shocked to find out she's been the go to tatoo artist for the Dragons for the last three years.

basically raph and mikey are half-japanese half-argentinian (the argentinian thing? projecting) and donnie and leo are fully japanese (basically turned my headcanons into an AU but here we are ig)

I appreciate all the love, encouragement, and gifts I have received from people with the polls, my lil guys got a LOT farther than I expected and I even managed to tie with Ame, so all in all it was worth it. I appreciate everyone who helped me to get this far, love y'all ❤️. Fusions and Croctots get to hug one last time. They have adopted eachother as brothers and they might meet again one day. For now their going home to sleep in a lil pile.

donatello splinterson goes to bed one night at the hardened age of 42 and wakes basically “sent back in time” to pre season one back to when he was 15 with all of his memories. it is very chaotic

one of my friends sent me a wc fic with this premise and it’s been MICROWAVING my brain nonstop. it’s also a rlly good fix hbdshh

Did I already reply to these in the notes of the last post? Yes. Still wanted to expand on it more and notes are horrible for that.

First, thank you again. ^ ^ Rise Donnie's body on low power and moving more on autopilot and muscle memory is one of the options. There's also his body just collapsing as he leaves it. Depending on how things were going before the others might assume it's just black of sleep catching up to him and it's not until a couple of days later and no sign of waking they realize something might be wrong. Could also have him collapsing in the lab and his brothers not finding him for a day or so and then panicking because they have no idea how long he's been like that or what caused it.

A third silly option is it not being permanent so Rise Donnie just kind of "slips" out of his body at times. Such as when he's tired or sleeping and he has a weaker grip on his body.

This could also happen if 03 Don is in a dangerous situation and needs extra strength. Just pulls Rise Donnie from his body for a burst of energy and causes Rise Donnie's body to collapse. Considering the kind of stuff that happens to 03 Don, this has probably happened at least several times.

If something happened where 03 Don was unable to control the body, anything from being knocked out to somehow having his soul removed, Rise Donnie would be put in control of the body and locked in until 03 Don could take control again. What I wouldn't give to see Rise Donnie have to pretend to be 03 Don around the others. All while trying to not freak out about being stuck.

Oops, made it a bit less silly.

As for Ninpo, I've thought about that too. Since Rise Donnie's body is still there and alive a part of him is still there. If nothing else the body probably holds an echo of Rise Donnie even if his soul isn't there. So that would probably throw the others off and take them a bit longer to realize he's not there. Would also give them some kind of energy to trade to try to find him though.

Could you imagine if both Donnies' markings from their powers combined? How neat would that look? With Rise Donnie as the source and O3 Don as the outlet, I think it could work. Even if it couldn't, it's an AU and canon has no place here.

Have actually joked about the others sharing bodies with their counterparts on Discord. It started with Mikey being the strongest and reaching out too far to find Donnie with the assistance of some of Draxum's mystic books. The other 03 turtles are horrified when 03 Mikey decides to cook. Even more so when it's a culinary masterpiece.

03 Leo is unable to meditate because Rise Leo can't focus and constantly singing pop songs that don't even exist in the 03 dimension. He also has the strangest urge to draw on Donnie's forehead. 03 Raph getting anger management advice.

The thing is though, whenever I think about that route I can only ever think about a bittersweet ending where the two universes merge completely. Donnie just hanging out with their family and for seemingly no reason starts to crumble and sob from the weight of an unknown guilt.
