i do think its fun to want to find clues that explain how nihei's main body of work is all connected (the main thing being ofc toha heavy industries) and how Actually its just one big story, as like a thought exercise. but i feel like this especially happens because people want to make sense of blame!, they want clear answers, more context, more information. its kind of sad because it makes it look like blame! isn't (or cant be) a complete work, which it absolutely is (and a masterpiece at that). and despite the fact that nihei did give more context to blame! (NOiSE, blame! academy, etc), i still see tons of people making posts and even yt videos about how biomega and sidonia are actually sequels of blame!. again, fun thought exercise, but don't make it look like blame! cant stand on its own

Hey! I saw an older post of yours talking about how some people like to incorrectly think that all of Nihei’s works are interconnected and take place in the same world (ie Blame! Is in the same world as Knights because Toha Heavy Industries is mentioned in both. Despite so much evidence proving otherwise that it’s two different worlds). Your post did get me thinking about Nihei’s newest series, Tower Dungeon, and it’s *potential* connection to other worlds. If you’ve read it, do you have any opinions on the greater similarities between it and Blame! ? In two chapters we already have a visual reference to the GBE, talk of a huge tower that seemingly appeared out of nowhere, and more intriguingly, a guard character that looks like a safeguard and very explicitly has the safeguard symbol on his forehead. I’m very hesitant to even theorize any connection between the two worlds only two chapters in, but it’s very interesting to see and I’m looking forward to how it plays out. Personally I would guess that they’re more meant as references to his prior works rather than any real connection between multiple stories, but I’m curious to hear your thoughts if you have any!
Nihei LOVES reusing motifs whenever possible- there's a whole bunch of Safeguard stuff in Aposimz and obviously the GBE is referenced in KoS quite a bit. The tower strikes me as one of the more blatant references, but if we're going by Blame! rules then it hardly makes sense for Safeguards to be active inside of it, and the timeline-warping effect of Toha's gravity furnace didn't seem like it was transporting the whole structure between worlds. I figure if there's any actual direct connection it'll probably not be overstated too much, like how KoS and Aposimz are in the same universe but neither series discusses that fact much.

KAINA OF THE GREAT SNOW SEA: nuovo trailer per l’originale serie targata Tsutomu Nihei e Polygon Pictures
L’anime sbarcherà in simulcast su Crunchyroll dall11 gennaio 2023.
