Rough drafts, my art skills haven't improved lol. The first is a bell prototype I'm gonna make, second was the first page of stuff I made, 3rd is the full body rear face, 4th is the better mask design, skirt, tail, etc, last one is of the front facing cape/cloak, @yaelokre I hope you're ready for a whole fit in like. 6 months lmao.
His name is Token, he's the Songbird, someone who flits around the forest dancing but never singing, playing but never being heard, he plays the recorder/pan flute, haven't decided, to his little grove of flowers and fruits. He's loud, friendly, if overly so, and always willing to dance to a warble or offer a sprig to chew (or toke). More details will be flushed out eventually, once the project gets "started"
His name is Token because he likes to gather his namesake of affection, bells, trinkets, flowers, little crafts he makes out of sticks and feathers. Every time he meets someone new he gives them one of his handmade trinkets, as a token of affection and friendship. the problem is once he runs out of trinkets he makes new ones. out of anything. so you might get a bell, a few feathers, a chain, a pine needle basket, pinecone necklace (caution may have sap), a fistful of grass. you get it.
more updates to come!

One of the lines that caught my eye in Emergence was "So tell me what you meant by 'living past your half life'?" In chemistry, a "half life" is the time it takes for a substance to decay to half of its original mass.
Further, half lives are also prominent in physics, specifically, nuclear physics. It has the same definition—amount of time taken for a nuclei to half itself—but is, as its name suggests, focused on how much useful energy is produced via the decomposition.
This also links in with the later lyrics of "space dust for your fuel rods." Fuel rods are used in the control of a nuclear decay reaction within a nuclear power plant. This could be interpreted as either Vessel's lack of autonomy, or Sleep losing dominion.
If it's anything to note, "space dust" can also be radioactive.
So, with this all in mind, living past a half life is, in its basics, working towards rot. Existing as a dead man walking and overtly aware that you are.
To me, this could be in reference to Sleep. It's been emphasised that, while Sleep is one of the oldest Gods, He is a forgotten one; kept alive by rituals and those who are beckoned by song to follow Him. Aka, kept alive and powerful by Vessel.
Sleep has long since lived past His so called "half life," and, in toe, He is, therefore "well versed in the afterlife."
While I don't think it works as well, mainly because I consider the majority of this song to be Vessel having a go at Sleep, instead of vice versa, this could be applied to Vessel as a mouthpiece, too, posing the question of; how long until your humanity disapears? How long does it take until you pass your half life, and begin to speak and see only that which bloodless and broken creatures do?
How long until you aren't even you anymore?
And, when that change happens, which it will, eventually, will you emerge and become "someone new," or stay as you were?

I’d love a sweet II X reader of him playing with readers hair if you don’t mind :)
He’s sweet and horny. I can’t control him it’s just how he is.
II x GN reader.
Under the cut~ <3 <3
“You have five minutes.”
You almost jump out of your skin from where you lounge on the couch. Your head snaps over to ii, already watching you. Had you not just been daydreaming about him, you might have been able to process this better, but it’s slightly alarming when he looks at you like he already knows exactly what you were thinking about.
“Huh?”
Is all you manage to get out. Your brain not able to catch up quick enough.
“You. You have five minutes.”
He repeats. He sticks his hand out and shows you five fingers, for extra effect. Then he juts his thumb out behind him, pointing down the hall.
“Get what you need and then get your ass in that bed.”
Your eyes follow where he’s pointing, your bedroom obviously being at the end of it. You pin him with a distant look, trying to piece together what the hell has gotten into him. But clearly your lack of action isn’t good enough for him.
“ii, what the fuck are you-“
“Five.”
He’s staring right through you. It’s like he can see and feel every single thought you have about him.
“Yeah I got it. Five minutes-“
“Four.”
He cuts you off again. Unmoving from where he stands.
“What are you-“
“Three.”
Oh yeah. Okay. That kicks your ass into gear. You’re up from where you were laying and you’re moving across the room before he can get the next number out. He watches you move. His lips quirked up just enough to give away his amusement. You pass by him as you move to the kitchen, even after all this time there’s still a little part of you that gets nervous around him.
He knows it. He likes it.
He lands a soft smack to your ass as you pass him. Never would he ever pass up the chance to get his hands on you whenever he can. Really, at this point, you’d be quite shocked if he didn’t.
You don’t even know what you’re preparing for. You assume he’s got something planned, and if history has taught you anything, you know a bottle of water and something easy to eat are musts when it comes to being in bed with ii. You grab what you can, getting some things for him too. You fill up your big water bottle, throw some ice cubes in it and make sure the lid is on tight. You scoop it up and walk towards your bedroom, ii having already made his way there. You walk in on him stripping his shirt off and leaving himself in boxers. The bedsheets already pulled back a little bit. The sound of you depositing the things you grabbed on your bedside table catches his attention. He eyes the things you got and a little laugh leaves him at your selection. Your eyes meet and he gives you a small smile.
“Relax. You won’t even need those.”
He says to you softly, coming around to where you stand and placing a kiss on your forehead.
“But I thought we were…”
You trail off, gesturing to the bed in an attempt to awkwardly tell him you assumed you were about to get your life ruined. His lips quirk again, this time a bit closer to a smile.
“Not quite. Maybe tonight.”
He says as he pulls away from you, choosing to stay cryptic. He leaves you standing there, less nervous than when you walked in but still extremely unsure about what the hell he wants right now. You try not to let his implication for his later plans get to you, but he reads you like a book.
“Stop it. Don’t think about that right now. Get undressed and get into bed. Don’t make me count you down again.”
His soft smile is like a drug, you want more of it every time you get it. You strip down to your underwear, matching ii, and you both get into bed together. The sheets are clean. He’s just got done remaking the bed, you can’t help the happy groan that slips from you when you realise. You sink further under the blankets and breathe them in. The sigh of pure comfort tells ii everything he needs to know.
“It’s nice, huh?”
He asks you, his voice so soft as he watches you with his own happy smile.
“So nice… I love clean sheets…”
This pulls a little laugh from him. He lets you enjoy the feeling for a few moments longer while he shuffles around to get himself comfortable.
“Alright. It’s my turn now.”
He mumbles to you, opening his arms for you to slot yourself into. His body is warm, his skin soft. He smells like him. It’s perfect. You take no shame in breathing him in. Pressing your nose into his neck and audibly enjoying every part of him.
His arms wrap around you, but instead of holding you like he normally does, this time they end up in your hair. His thick fingers digging into your scalp and dragging through the strands of hair he can get his fingers through. ii has strong fingers, after drumming for so long sometimes he forgets his own strength, but this is perfect.
So much so that it pulls a slightly surprised sound from you.
“This alright? Been thinking about doing this all day.”
He admits quietly, his hands still buried deep in your hair.
“Fuck, ii…”
Is the only response he gets. A delighted groan.
“Hmmm, I’ll take that as a yes…”
I murmurs into your hairline, leaving a soft kiss there.
“You were thinking about this? My hair?”
You ask him as best you can without slurring your words to an embarrassing level.
“Mhm, it looks so soft today. Smells different too. You use something new?”
He asks you, his nose still buried in your hairline, taking a good whiff of you just as you did to him.
“It’s your stuff… I ran out…”
You admit to him with a little smile pressed into his chest. You didn’t think he’d notice so fast. Figured you’d be able to get away with a wash or two with his shampoo and conditioner before getting new bottles of your own. Apparently you were absolutely stupid for assuming that.
“Fuck that’s what it is… you smell like me. I couldn’t figure it out.”
This time he takes a much deeper whiff of your hair, humming to himself, pleased with this revelation.
His fingers are still playing with your hair. Tangling them up in the strands and then digging his fingertips into your scalp just enough to turn your brain to mush every time he does it.
“Hope you don’t mind… didn’t think you’d clock it so soon.”
“Love, I notice the second you do something different. I noticed it the moment you stepped out of the shower this morning. You can’t hide anything from me.”
You can hear the smile in his voice again, either proud of himself for knowing you so well he’s able to pick up on the smallest of differences. Or, just amused that you thought you could hide anything from him at all. No matter the size.
“If you weren’t actively massaging my brain I might’ve been slightly terrified… or turned on… not sure yet…”
He huffs a soft laugh into your hairline, pleased that you’re enjoying this moment with him. He watches the way his hands card through your hair, loving the way it looks all wrapped up around his fingers.
“I can make you both at the same time, you know this.”
He says things like this so nonchalantly, it drives you nuts.
“You need to be neutered.”
You mumble into his chest, silently glad he’s unable to see the way your face undoubtedly turns red.
“No… I just need my love.”
He mumbles sappily, leaving little kisses along your hairline again. It sounds innocent enough but you know that not so deep down he’s having incredibly impure thoughts.
“Focus on the task at hand, hotshot.”
He smiles into your forehead. Tugging just slightly harder on a handful of hair than he has been. A warning.
He keeps a mental note to remind you to stop buying shampoo and conditioner. His one suits you much better. It suits him too. You smell like him. He’s beyond fucking delighted. This scratches an itch so deep in his brain. He can’t even try to explain just how much he loves it. Maybe just about as much as you love clean bedsheets.

Love you guys thank you for reading.

More late night ramblings from your favorite dumpsterbonfire~
If anyone else has posted about this, I do apologize; I did look at the main tag to try and catch up on everything today bc I haven't been on in a few days but I ended up not digging super deep cuz I got too excited, lol
The Griffith Observatory is definitely a really cool location to look into, the guy who had it built was a cool mf because he wanted astrology to be available to the public, not sequestered to only smart people and rich fucks. Free admission since it opened in 1935, a 305mm Zeiss refracting telescope, a triple-beam solar telescope, a planetarium, and a theater named after Leonard Nimoy, just to name a few things. The place is amazing, I'd love to go someday.
But one of the other features (that was actually completed before the observatory's opening) really has my attention - the Astronomer's Monument.
It's an homage to six of the greatest astronomers in recorded history - Galileo, Copernicus, Johannes Kepler, Isaac Newton, and William Herschel. Kepler stood out to me for some reason, and I haven't heard his name in a while so I looked him up to jog my memory. The guy was a genius, full stop. Astronomy, philosophy, dabbled in music, wrote stuff. But he was also a mathematician, and one of the biggest things he's known for math-wise is the Kepler conjecture:

Unironically i do think there are some ppl who engage with Sleep Token more as a boy band that just happens to play metal, rather than a metal band with all the associated cultural etiquette, and I definitely feel like that contributes to the mindset of wanting to know Everything About Them against their express wishes. Do we need to have A Talk about distinguishing how you treat The Men vs The Stage Performance vs The Characters In Lore? Cause some of y’all need to do better.

Okay! Here's a transcription of the tier 4 bundle page from Sumerian's twitter. Please let me know if I screwed anything up or if it's tough to read at all; I tried to work around the obscured parts as best I could, but all the notes might have made it cluttered. There's also several words I couldn't read, as well as some partially-visible words I couldn't figure out lol

15 days since convergence of the Lunar Anomaly
When I was a child, I was frequently beset by certain recurring dreams. There is one such dream that I remember more than most—one in which I found myself standing on a vast shoreline gazing out at a flat, wide sea. Slowly as I watched, the horizon gradually began to lift. Before long I was able to observe that this lifting expanse was approaching me— a wall of smooth, black water that curled into an impossible lip at its peak. Rather surprisingly, I do not recall being afraid at such an ominous sight. well, to be more precise, I was afraid— I was terrified, but on of the wave itself. Instead, it was the thought of what was beyond it. This vast, unstoppable force sweeping forth to herald the end of everything, to drown the world and then eventually sink back into itself. A careless shrug of entropy enough to sever the thread of all fates. I felt that were I to somehow survive this limitless tide, then I would be left in a world that would not recognize me. I would become an element unto myself and myself alone.
An echo stuck in the throat of a dead god.

rough design for Sleep (im new n still working out the lore n my headcanons so pls be nice :3)
design explained :
- the sheep eyes are a reference to the lyrics from Rain (mouth of the wolf/eyes of the lamb)
- the pattern and shape on the mandibles (not super clear in this sketch) mirrors the pattern on Vessel's mask, the idea being that part of Sleep's consumption of Vessel is to eat away at his identity(?)
- the teeth on the mandibles and everywhere else morph from molar-like to needle-like teeth
- hands are meant to represent, well, reaching and wanting, grasping at everything around you
- Sleep's body is essentially made of morphing shadow, making it able to envelop and overwhelm everything around it.
let me know what u think:3 i'm planning to use this design for illustrations in a zine project (that i am hoping to actually . make )

“Have you been waiting long for me?”
This has a weird undertone. Almost creepy in a way.
It makes me think about someone who knows exactly how needed they are by someone else. How much someone else depends on them. But they decide to play with that poor human.
At least that's how you can read this.
Sleep talking to Vessel? Vessel talking to us? None of those two?
Or maybe it's meant in a different way.....
There is so much longing and yearning throughout the whole discography. “Nobody else can pull me out” “make me yearn for your embrace” just to name a few.
Maybe that someone or something that he was yearning for showed up every now and then was like “have you been waiting long for me”
I'm not overinterpreting this. No....I stopped doing that.
And also some peeps in this fandom always start attacking each other once our boys are not on tour or something like that.
It feels a bit like Vessel observed all of us and thought “have you been waiting long for me?!"

⚠️⚠️SPOILERS AHEAD⚠️⚠️
15 days since emergence of the Lunar Anomaly
When I was a child, I was frequently beset by certain reoccurring dreams. this is one such dream that I remembered more than most – one in which I found myself standing on a vast shoreline, gazing out at a flat, wide sea. Slowly, as I watched the horizon gradually begin to lift. Before long I was able to observe that this lifting expanse was approaching me – a wall of smooth, black water that curls into an impossible lip at its peak. rather surprisingly, I do not recall being afraid of such an ominous sight. Well, to be more precise, I was afraid – I was terrified, but not of the wave itself. Instead, it was the thought of what was beyond it. This vast, unstoppable force sweeping forth to herald the end of everything, to drown the world and then eventually sink back into itself. A careless shrug of entropy enough to sever the thread of all fates. I felt that were I to somehow survive this limitless tide then I would be left in the world that would not recognize me. I would become an element unto myself and myself alone.
An echo stuck in the throat of a dead god.
yet here I am. It has been over two weeks since the emergence of the lunar anomaly. our team spent nearly 2 years attempting to anticipate what this event would mean for humanity – analyzing endless reams of lunar topography along with every known form of spectroscopy, all amounting to one hopeless conclusion: to burrow into the bowels of the earth and simply wait that whatever emerge from within would reach us these last.
as it would turn out this one final act of humble surrenders is what one the last of us the right to our own lives in these final days. Those of us alive now are not those who sought to barter with destiny and defiantly cling to a civilized existence of the surface – or even any existence at all.
it would seem that in the week of this phenomenon, we are best served by our most base instincts, whose shame found no place to dwell. The ones who survived are those who spat their hubris and hid desperately down in the mud like rats.
I want it to be known that we made every effort to warn the others, though naturally we could not provide much of a basis upon which to suggest that our entire species with facing imminent and utter demise besides a few fissures of the southern lunar pole. with that said we begun building this underground facility once we realized that the moon’s orbit was rapidly decaying in a way that was inconsistent with any known physical model – I found it hard to believe that none of them followed our lead perhaps some of them did either way we have no way of knowing now.
my expectations for the first surface expedition were bleak at best in all honesty. I was shocked to discover that our initial readings showed that these remained a breathable atmosphere. Perhaps in all this turmoil, I found it easier to commit my mind to the worst possible outcome at every turn.
The limited data we gathered before the event – despite two years of efforts – didn’t prepare us for the havoc we now face. To say that we find ourselves at a loss to explain, the phenomenon would be a gracious understatement. The catechism that occurred two weeks ago had taught us one unshakable rule about this new world we now hid beneath – to gaze upon the moon is to die.
For this reason, we rapidly developed wearable counter measures for the surface teams that would prove vital in allowing them to navigate the surface. If only we could have known that this was far from the only threat that awaited them. To say that we find ourselves at a loss to explain the phenomena would be a gracious understatement.
it is not only human life that is affected by the lunar anomaly, but that of all life, albeit in vastly different ways. To put it simply – this new type of emergent biology is beyond the boundaries of what we are able to study and understand.
I find myself already laden with guilt over those we lost. More than that however, I feel most guilty about the way I reacted to learning of the remnant human elements that attacked our team. I felt strangely comforted, despite the deeply disturbing nature of that discovery.
Upon further introspection, I arrived at the conclusion that this feeling came from a sense of familiarity. Human beings fighting other human beings is a horror that has played us all since time immemorial, but here in the wake of such deeply unfamiliar and unpredictable occurrences, it is hard not to feel almost comforted by such an immediately recognizable problem.
with that said, I do also find myself deeply troubled by the prospect of humans remaining on the surface in that state. The consensus among my colleagues is that their actions were not born of their own will, though there is every chance that this is a conclusion we are clinging to in preference over the more unsettling alternative.
I feel that I am rapidly squandering the precious remnants of human life in the desire to understand what has happened, though in truth, I know not what else to do. Perhaps this is the only way we can cling to our humanity – by continuing our constant battle with the sheer unknown right to the very end.
The Director
28 days since Lunar Anomaly
already I find myself in the surprising position of yearning for the way things were two weeks ago. Two weeks ago, I was contending with the end of the world. Now, I contend with the reality of what has replaced it.
we took the trouble to equip ourselves as thoroughly as possible, with the means of studying any emergent phenomena on the surface, even whilst and tomb beneath the Earth. We now find ourselves consumed by the pursuit of understanding – it is truly all that we have left. However, the samples we’ve acquired offer no such mercy – their nature and origin is fundamentally foreign to us. Something we can say is that, contrary to the initial assumption that most life on the surface had been wiped out, there is in fact in abundance of some kind of new organic material. It can be found everywhere in some form, including in the atmosphere itself. Its cellular structure is completely unique – where one would expect to see some approximation of a typical eukaryotic cell, what we see instead resembles membranous tubules that contain vast quantities of foreign organelles. These organelles seem to function in an oddly synchronous fashion and are able to perform a variety of functions. Primarily, they are able to ‘grow’ the tubules that contain them by undergoing a form of transformation at either end which renders them as part of the tubule wall. secondly, and far more strangely, they are able to exert some kind of force over the tubule as a whole, contorting it in a way not dissimilar to muscle tissue, (but without any apparent nervous impulse.)
as to the origin of this tissue, our initial assumption was that it had been somehow transferred from the moon itself to earth – perhaps via pieces of lunar material falling through the atmosphere. This makes some sense, however, the sheer proliferation of this material across the surface within a relatively short period of time suggest that there is more to it than that.
I am reluctant to comment on the reports of other worldly beings on the surface. Their presence carries implications I am simply unprepared for. At a certain point, however, I must accept that this only increases the inevitable danger placed upon the surface teams during their expeditions. What I must also accept is that these precious human lives are now the only currency with which we can barter against the unknown.
Thus far we barter in vain.
The Director
58 days since the lunar anomaly
when we first retreated down into the ground, I think that somewhere in the midst of my despair, I clung to a degree of hope. This wasn’t so much a hope for survival as much as the hope that we would at least be able to discern some kind of meaningful understanding of what has happened. we have committed everything – I have committed everything. The last precious remnant of humanity extinguished in the name of what makes us human to begin with. To shed what light we have left on the sea of the unknown. But now I see that this was a futile effort that has resulted in nothing but death, not merely in the context of our final struggle, but across the scope of all human existence. It has all amounted to nothing but a few extra skulls drifting in the foul ether that has swamped our world.
It is clear now that the lunar anomaly functions in accordance with laws of its own. It makes a mockery of science. It permeates and distort reality to the degree that all fundamental assumptions are rendered useless. it kills everything it touches while simultaneously imbuing it with some kind of new life, twisting nature into something grotesque and unrecognizable. These new forms seem organic, but they have nothing resembling a typical cell structure or genetic blueprint. They can bring forth in an instant, summoning flesh from nothing. Furthermore, our ability to measure even the most fundamental aspects of our physical world is becoming impossible. The massive objects change slightly, depending on where they are, as though gravity itself, has begun to lose its grip. We have detected seismic activity from further inside the Earth than we even thought possible. The anomaly doesn’t just want to consume all life. It wants to consume reality.
as for those beings, I know not what they are were where they originated. They themselves are not consistent with the nature of the anomaly they inhabit. Their actions seem to exhibit some strange sentence, but their motives are unclear, and they make no effort to communicate. At times I have concluded that they are here to replace us, or perhaps, even that they themselves represent some fractured distillation of our nature. they are after all violent, just as we have been to the very end. They seem to push against one another as a part of some strange order. As time has passed, though, I have come to believe that they have no connection to us. I believe that what our world has become is a little more than an arena to them – a crucible of existence where they will battle eternally. The totality of their being is not their individual functions, but rather the conflict between them. We are merely spectators to their endless dance of ceaseless struggle. this is perhaps the only thing that connects them to the drowned memory of what humanity once was – that we too saw meaning through constant friction and unending movement, compelled by some core motive force that drives us to bring ourselves to bear on the world and manifest our own perceptions.
in these final dimming days, I know only the solace of a promised end. I have become the ultimate witness. I have been saddled with the heavy blessing of seeing the unraveling of everything and I can do nothing but wait for it to unravel me too. But I live still within this temple of untampered flesh, and I will spend what blood still beats through it to barter one last time with the fangled threads of fate. if I must, I will march through the eye of death and meet it with eyes of my own.
What few of us are left now have our orders.
We must know what it is to become of us.
