I'm starting to think Aprtopis and Rinne are connected somehow. The latest episode didn't just feel like 'trying to mess with someone at their lowest'. This was 'messing with the object of your murder boner at their lowest'. Seriously kid! Did Rinne bully you when she was younger!? Because everything she does to Rinne feels personal! It might just be me looking to deep into this.

Well, they seem to be foils for each other so in that sense they are connected.

From what Lachesis says about Atropos, as well as how Geryon treated Atropos compared to Lachesis and Clotho, I think we can surmise that Atropos had a very different sort of bond to him compared to them. Possibly, she sees herself not only as his logical successor, but also as his "real daughter" in the sense that he truly cared about her or at least saw her as elevated among his creations.

Rinne, on the other hand, is the daughter of Kudo Fuga, who was responsible for Geryon's long banishment and was instrumental to his defeat by creating not only Houtaro but also Rinne herself as Riders to oppose him. Rinne is her father's successor as the protector and friend of the Chemmies, in the same way Houtaro is, though of course the familial connection elevates her in a way Houtaro doesn't really match up to.

To me, it seems clear that Atropos targets Rinne partly out of spite to Fuga, Since Fuga isn't around to face her ire, she went after the next best thing- his daughter. If it served to shake her faith in her father and make her somehow useful to Geryon, all the better.

Furthermore there's also the fact that a good chunk of all of this is Atropos projecting her own feelings onto Rinne. She tells Rinne she's inadequate to help her friends because she herself was unable to help Geryon when it mattered. She tells Rinne lies about her father and makes her doubt him because she herself is uncertain of her standing with Geryon, having seen how he callously treats Lachesis and Clotho. She tells Rinne she is alone because that's how Atropos sees herself- even in the company of her "sisters", she considers herself alone.

And finally, Rinne herself had a hand in Geryon's defeat, and she succeeded at getting under Atropos' skin when she turned back her insults onto her and pointed out her hypocrisy.

So yes, it is indeed very personal for Atropos, even though you'll probably never hear her admit it.
