Bruce graduated from medical school. He went out and trained to become a vigilante. He came back and things mostly turned out like the original universe does. Until Dick. The stress was getting to him. Gnawing away at his morals and last shred of patients. Mysteriously, the building Tony Zuko was in blew up and Batman wasn't seen again.

Years go by, and more mysterious explosions kill more mob bosses and super villains. No one connects Bruce to the explosions except for a malnourished street kid who caught him in the act. Smart little street rat that is Jason Todd uses this knowledge to get some food. Bruce quickly takes a liking to him and brings him home. Jason starts helping Bruce rig these explosions after a while. While setting up a bomb meant for their slipperiest evil doer, Joker, it goes off while Jason's in the building. Bruce goes a little crazy (or maybe crazier. who's to say) after Jason's death.

He meets Tim Drake at a function being held by Mr and Mrs Drake and notices some things. The first thing he notices is how similar Tim looks to Jason when they met in that dark alley. The second thing he notices is that the Drakes are almost always out of Gotham. The third thing he notices is that Tim seems to light up when Bruce mentions Dick. He'd love to just snatch the kid up and bring him home, but he couldn't. Not without a reason to keep the kid. It was just luck that one of the many villains still populating Gotham decided to target the plane the Drakes were on a week later. In his gratitude for the opportunity to take in the sweet child he'd found, he made sure the explosion he set for them would only maim them instead of kill them.

Getting Jason was amazing and horrible. The sweet precious boy nearly killed Bruce and Tim with the minor explosive he'd put in Bruce's favorite car. But that didn't matter all that much. By the end of the entire debacle, no one was hurt and they'd even managed to clear up some misunderstandings. Bruce had all of his children under one roof again.

He thought he had all of his children under one roof until he learned about Damian. There weren't any words he could use to describe how upset it made him to learn that another of his children were being kept from him. He did have to thank Talia, however. Without Talia slipping up to Jason about Damian's existence he wouldn't have known until one of the Al Ghul's revealed it to him. Tim overheard Jason and Bruce planning to retrieve Damian and revealed that he'd known since he came to the manor what Jason and Bruce did. Told the two that he knew how to help gather intel on the League long term as long as they could slip a microchip into one of the League's mainframe computers. The Plan went well, all things considered. Jason and Bruce came out of it with a few scars and a broken rib, which was less damage than expected. They sadly weren't able to catch many of the assassins in any of their micro explosions, but they overall won the battle.

After everything was said and done, Damian fit in well with their chaotically violent family. Even if he did prefer swords to explosives. It was much less strange than Dick's proclivities to only do harm when he felt it was strictly necessary. He gets it from Alfred, Bruce supposed.

A Reckless Encounter

I've always been a fighter. From the moment I took my first breath in this chaotic world, I learned to battle against the odds that life threw at me. It wasn't easy, though. Growing up with an abusive father, I sought refuge in drugs and alcohol, drowning my sorrows in a haze of self-destruction.

But life had a funny way of throwing curveballs. One fateful night, my reckless ways caught up with me, and I found myself being arrested. As luck would have it, instead of languishing in a jail cell, I was given a chance at redemption in the Marines as an Automotive Maintenance Technician.

The Marines whipped me into shape, physically and mentally, and instilled within me a sense of discipline. After years of service, I decided to embark on a new journey as a field agent for Gibbs’ NCIS team. Gibbs, was an enigma—gruff, tough, and intriguing. And damn, did he stir something within me.

We clashed like thunder and lightning, our arguments a constant symphony in the bullpen. He berated me for my reckless behavior, and I shot back with my signature stubbornness. But beneath our heated exchanges, there were sparks of chemistry, a magnetic pull that had us tiptoeing the line between professionalism and desire.

One day, during a particularly tense mission, I made a costly mistake. Gibbs threatened to strip me of my field duties.

The team, briefing room. Now," he barks, his voice firm and commanding.

I walk into the room, feeling the weight of Gibbs' gaze burning into the back of my head. Tony and McGee sit on one side, exchanging playful banter. Ziva stands off to the side, her eyes flickering with curiosity.

Gibbs glares at me as he enters, his eyes filled with a mix of annoyance and concern. I try to avoid his gaze, but it's like a magnet drawing me in.

"Y/n," he starts, his deep voice cutting through the tension.

I take a deep breath, mentally preparing myself for the onslaught of reprimands.

"You made a mistake out there. A big one," Gibbs continues, his voice low and controlled.

I clench my fists, feeling the anger bubbling up inside me. I refuse to let him treat me like a child.

"You can't keep going out on field ops if you're gonna put the whole team at risk," he growls. I feel a surge of adrenaline rush through my veins. This is it. The moment I've been waiting for. The moment where all my pent-up frustrations come to the surface

But I didn’t! Quit treating me like a damn rookie!" I shouted. "So either take me off field ops or get the hell off my back."

Gibbs looked like he wanted to slap me upside the head. But instead, he just glared and walked out without another word.

Suddenly, my phone buzzes. A new case. I glance at Gibbs. But his steely gaze is fixed on me. Not in anger, but something else entirely. Gibbs breaks the silence. "Alright, Y/L/N, you think you can handle this mission?" Gibbs asked, his voice laced with skepticism. I knew he was questioning my abilities, but I wasn't about to back down.

"Of course I can, Gibbs," I replied, my voice dripping with confidence. "I've been through worse."

Gibbs narrowed his eyes at me, clearly not amused. "Don't let your recklessness get in the way. We're dealing with dangerous criminals here."

I smirked at him, unable to resist pushing his buttons. "Would you prefer me to be cautious and boring?” Gibbs stepped closer. Our nose were millimetres apart. His icy blue eyes filled with rage. “Watch your tone, Y/L/N.” I took a second to process what he said before I smirked and said “Are we gonna fight or make out because I’m getting some mixed signals here, Jet.”

Gibbs froze, his jaw dropping slightly. I could practically see the gears turning in his head as he processed my words. But before he could respond, I turned on my heel and walked away, leaving him speechless.

As the days turned into weeks, the tension between us grew. We argued, we clashed, and yet, there was an unspoken connection, a chemistry that neither of us could deny. We went through the motions, burying our feelings under Gibbs' infamous Rule Twelve.

But fate has a way of knocking sense into us when we least expect it. On one particularly dangerous assignment, I found myself in a life-or-death situation. The fear gripped me as I looked into the eyes of mortality.

And in that moment, it hit me like a ton of bricks. I couldn't hold back my feelings any longer.

As I lay there, battered and bruised, Gibbs rushed to my side. His voice was filled with worry as he yelled my name. And in a hoarse whisper, I confessed, "I don't want to die without you knowing how I feel."

And just like that, the floodgates opened. Gibbs confessed his own feelings, his voice shaking with emotion.

We had fought, we had argued, and we had danced around each other for so long. But in that moment, we both knew that love had a funny way of finding us in the midst of chaos.

I miss the days when you and Tony dated but weren’t public and the media would go wild with speculations.” Pepper snorted into her mug giving you a side eye. “Maybe you should start to fill that gossip column. It could be fun. We could start betting who your next lover gonna be like me and Tony did.”

Your eyes widened. “Why wasn’t I invited?! This could have been so much fun. Now I have to bet on when baby Stark is being conceived.” You looked over to her and raised your hands. “Only if you guys want that. You two is also a perfect family. And you got me. You feral chaotic child you found in the woods.”

Pepper threw her head back at your comment about yourself. She clutched her stomach and had to bend over to relief some of the pain from laughing so loud.

Bucky was in the hallway when he heard the hysterical laughter of Pepper and you. Slowly he crept into the room to look what was going on. For once he thanked his spy training so he could noiselessly creep into the room.

You were joking about a newspaper article when he suddenly stopped. “Huh. Look at this paragraph. The Winters Spouse. None existing or is he Captain Americas “best friend”. Oh my god they found their newest victim.” You cackled into your mug while Pepper read over the article.

“I once told Tony if I would leave him it was for him. He is just…damn! You know?” Your eyes widen. “Tony didn’t take it well, did he?” Pepper shook her head, “Not in a bit. He slept in the lap for a week and ignored me for the time. But he missed me too much to ignore me the whole time.”

Your schoolgirl giggles made Bucky’s cheeks turn a shade of pink. He had the biggest crush at you after Steve rescued him. You were there every step of the way for his therapy. Always video chatting after a session while he was in Wakanda.

“You know, this picture just sparks pure masculinity.” You looked over to the redhead while biting your lip. Bucky had to control every ounce of his being to not give himself away. His self-restraint was on thin ice.

Pepper grinned, “Makes me want to swoon.” You hummed while taking a sip of your coffee, “Same. I’d die to fall into this arms.” You groaned at the thought of the super soldier’s arms carrying you around.

“Sadly we are both married woman.” She hummed. You nodded with her. “Sadly. But think about it. My husband looks a lot like him. But he is missing the long hair.” You sighted while taking another sip from your mug.

Bucky couldn’t hold back his snort and let it out. Startling both you and Pepper. You turned on the stool to glare at the man who disrupted your gossiping. “James! I told you not to sneak up on me! It could be any day now!” You pointed at your very prominent belly.

Bucky pouted at you as he walked over to you. “I am so sorry, hun. Won’t do it until the kid is screaming and kicking.” He kissed the side of your face while sneaking his arms around your waist as best as he could.

You turned to him and pointed at the paper laying untouched on top. “Did you know you were Steve’s boyfriend?” His already big smile grew bigger. You scoffed at him as he snuggled closer. “I’m a little saddened that you are seeing other women behind my pregnant back. How could you. And with a supermodel with very fake lips.” You held up the paper to show him the picture of said model. You scoffed at him and turned to pick up your mug again. He knew you were acting but he played along. “Love, I don’t know who that woman is. I exclusively date crazy, powerful woman with telekinetic powers who were found in the forest by their brother-figure and his wife.”

Pepper, who was watching the whole scene play out had to smirk. Slowly she made her way out of the room to walk to her husband’s lab. He was tinkering away on a suit when she entered. “You should watch the kitchen footage. They are too cute.” Tony looked over his shoulder with a scoff. “I had an appointment with the dentist last week. I don’t want another seal because of their sugar sweetness.”
