we need to talk about Inprnt.com
Following a really good post with more screenshots and evidence by @dynasoar5 i'm going to talk about my own experiences with @inprnt and why I am about to put my shop on indefinite hiatus from Monday the 14th of August.
First of all I'll say that since starting my print shop last year it has been a significant help to me financially - I was able to not worry about affording car insurance or motor tax (together commonly over a thousand euro) when I bought my first car, for example. I am immeasurably grateful to anyone who chose to buy one and I treasure all the pictures I've been sent of my prints hanging up on people's walls. Right now they are displayed in a real (if small) art exhibition in my home town.
Tumblr media
(top right print is not from inprnt though)
They're great prints. Never had any complaints about them. But here's what's going on behind the scenes.
Earlier this year, around March or April, Inprnt sales started increasing in regularity. I'd made as much as $600 a week during previous sales when I made proper promo posts here, but with this increase in regularity, I felt that I couldn't make promo posts every single week. And then one day, I'm not sure when tbh, the sale just never ended. It just didn't stop having that "Ending soon! 15% off your order" banner at the top of the site. Right now it says "Final Hours: $5 Worldwide shipping and save up to 35% off your order!" and not even for a second do I believe in this final hours bullshit. It's been 'final hours' for weeks now. Months, even.
Why is this a problem? Well, how tf am I meant to make a promo post for a sale that is always "ending soon!!" and then never ends. One week it'll say "this weekend only!!" and then when the weekend is over, the sale banner just changes its wording and the sale doesn't end. I can't promo this, it makes me look like a liar and a skeevy salesman by association! It makes the site look like it's 1 week from crashing and burning, and the site owners are just scrabbling to suck as much money from artists as possible before they drown.
And they are sucking money from us. To peel back the curtain, Inprnt money can only be transferred to my paypal account 30 days after the sale is made, just in case the order is cancelled and refunded. This means I used to make one withdrawal every couple of months, when there was enough build-up of money to make it worthwhile. It also forbids withdrawing any sum under $50 btw. I would make a withdrawal request and then, after a 10 business day wait, it would reach my Paypal account.
Not anymore! The past few withdrawals have taken over a month to complete. They are straight up keeping my earnings from me for longer the agreed period. This was my last fulfilled withdrawal:
Tumblr media
Note the date.
Tumblr media
Almost two months.
And here is the latest withdrawal request that still has not been fulfilled.
Tumblr media
It's coming up on 1 month and if the pattern continues, it could literally be November or December by the time I fully clear all sales.
So what's going to happen to my print shop? Because my art is currently being exhibited with a QR code linking to the shop, I can't close the shop this week. Instead I will close it on Monday the 14th of August, next week. That means that on the 14th of September, I can withdraw all of the remaining money without having any left over. My account balance will go to 0 and stay there. Although I'll de-list my prints I will leave my account there, because at the end of the day I don't want to leave Inprnt. It still offers the best artist margins and as I'm now unemployed after graduating, the additional support is such a load off my mind. So this is a chance to wait and see - if they improve their services, I'll happily re-open.
It's a big deal to me because selling prints is sort of my ideal life as an artist. I never had the attention span or self-discipline for commission work and I found that it left me creatively stagnant. I always want to try new things, new concepts and ideas, and being able to think "yeah, people will like this as a print" while I experiment is honestly very reassuring. And I know that in going on hiatus, it'll break a lot of "buy a print" links in my circulating posts. Oh well lmao. If you want to buy a print right now - go ahead, it might be your last opportunity. Another way to support me would be to check out my ko-fi for once-off donations or some nice sketchbooks/comics/book samples you can buy, or subscribing to my Patreon.
As of right now, Inprnt owes me $381 (the unfulfilled request submitted above for $186.60 and my current standing balance of $194.80 which takes 30 days from each transaction to clear).

HOW TO STAY POOR 1. PRIORITIZE SLEEPING Never wake up early. Stay in bed as long as possible, stretching and turning until hunger forces you to get up. If there are no bed bugs, why hurry? 2. PRIORITIZE SPENDING Never plan on investments. Spend money as soon as you get it. When it's gone, try to recall how it disappeared. 3. AVOID SAVING Don’t save until you have a huge amount of money. How can you save when you earn so little? Those who advise saving don't understand your very important expenses. 4. PRIORITIZE YOUR PRIDE Avoid activities deemed "uneducated" or "low class" like selling or small businesses. As a graduate, professional, or someone from a well-known family, engaging in such affairs is a huge insult to your standards and status. 5. WAIT FOR MIRACLES Wait for an angel to deliver a bag full of money for your capital. It’s impossible to start any business without millions. Sure, some businesses began with little capital, but you know success is 100% guaranteed if you start big. 6. COMPLAIN ENDLESSLY Complain about everything except your own attitude and mindset. Blame your poverty on your parents, the system, the government, and the banks that refused to lend you money. They are all bad and do not want you to get rich. 7. OVERSPEND Always spend more than you earn. Buy products on credit and keep borrowing from friends and employers to maintain your lifestyle. 8. DRESS TO IMPRESS Make sure you look rich so others will be intimidated by your presence. Win your secret showing-off competition. Whenever your neighbor buys a new phone, make sure you get a more expensive one. 9. PRIORITIZE CAR Purchase a car that costs more than three times your annual salary. It’s an essential status symbol. Don’t worry if you don’t have a house or a place to park it. In fact, don’t prioritize buying your own house because you can’t use it to impress people like you can with a car. 10. SPOIL YOUR CHILDREN Give your children everything they ask for to show your love and prove you’re the best parent. They shouldn’t struggle for anything. It doesn’t matter if they grow up lazy and entitled. What’s important is that you give them the best so they don’t suffer, unlike those cruel parents who, despite their means, choose to let their children struggle. 11. FOCUS ON ENTERTAINMENT Devote your time, energy, and resources to watching your favorite sports or playing computer games. It doesn’t matter if you’re not productive. What’s important is that you enjoy life to the fullest. A time spent on enjoyment is never wasted. 12. PRIORITIZE VICES Indulge in your favorite vices. Whether it's smoking, drinking, or gambling, make these your top priorities. Enjoy drinking with friends and embrace the image of being a smoker or gambler. Fully commit to these habits, regardless of their impact on your well-being or finances.

Honest Answer Eddie Munson
Summary: Your best friend Steve Harrington has a party but his usual dealer is out of town, so he asks you to go to the only other dealer he trust who happens to be the person you despise. Eddie Munson. Warning: mention of drugs, swearing, mention of drink there are gonna be 2 parts. MDNI
"This school sucks" you rant to your best friend Steve, "yes it is shit, but we have my party tonight so we have something to be happy about and it's gonna be sick". he assures you while removing his books from his locker and placing them in his bag.
You and Harrington have been friends since middle school and have always been close, you too were practically brother and sister. He's always got your back though anything."yeah well i haven't even picked out a outfit i was gonna just go in jeans and red crop top but i feel its too basic, it's pretty much what i wear on a daily" you sigh walking down to the classroom taking a seat next to Steve. "Well please don't do what u did last time and turn up late after going though 20 different choices to only go decided on the first one" he said making you roll your eyes "look i'm just a girl" you place your hand over your heart you both laugh then turn to face the front. Half way though the class Eddie walks in taking the only seat left right next to you, you turn to look at Steve giving him the annoyed look he knew you hated Eddie.
You didn't always hate him,he used to be sweet, kind, understanding but he changed in the last year. You never understood why he just started been horrible, once you saw that side of him you hated him."why so late Edward Munson". The teacher spoke as she shifted her eyes away from the bored to face him, he shrugged at her question "well detention after school" she spoke turning her head back to teaching everyone in the room Eddie then flopped his head down on his desk. It's not like Eddie not to answer back normally he tries wigging his way out of it yet today he didn't "you okay dude" Steve leaned over your desk Eddie nodded his head in response Harrington sat back in his chair waiting for class to end
2 hours later
You were home trying to pick out a outfit for Steve's party you couldn't decide between the black strapless dress or the red skirt with the matching top,you was stood there trying to choose one for longer than 10 minutes till eventually you choose the black strapless dress, you matched everything up to it your hair was in curls and your makeup was a smokey eye look and you went with a leather jacket. Soon as all that was done you set off to Steve's .
Once you arrive at the party it was already full of people Cheerleaders, the Basket ball team pretty much everyone from Hawking high you weren't really expecting this many people but then again Steve was a popular guy i mean how else would he get the name the king of hawking high."hey your finally here"he rushes over to greeting you with a hug. "Yeah sorry". You shout over the music playing from each end of the room from the expensive speakers."i need a favour you know how you owe me for getting you that movie for free from the video store for your date?", he half yells at the top of the music "yeah i remember that date it went horrible he ended up having a girlfriend the dickhead" you stated, "yeah well we are running out of weed ,my dealer in out of town and the only other dealer is..." you cut him off immediately, "ABSOLUTELY NOT NO.." he stops you from reacting. "Please you know i wouldn't ask but Eddie is the only other person that sells weed cheap and he is down the road most people are drinking i have to stay here and robin is finally getting somewhere with Vicky " he pleaded. You sigh rolling your eyes back "Fucking hell fine where's the money " Steve then points to the draw and leaves you to go stop someone from breaking the vase,You then leave the party hoping in your car and beginning to drive over to the Munson's trailer in Forest Hills trailer park .
Ones you arrive you debate on just turning back and going home but you did owe your best friend a favour. So you went and knocked on the trailer and about 3 seconds later the door swings open, "oh it's you" the long haired brunette stood in front of you in no clothing but grey joggers, his body on show, exposing his tattoo's that you have never seen before, his hair soaked from the shower water. "I..I just came for Steve's weed for his party he should of told you it was me coming" you rubbed the back of you head trying to shake the view of Eddie's perfectly shaped body out your head "come in I'll grab the bag", you nod walking into the room. Your eyes circle the room it's different to what you imagined. "I want money first never know what girls like u are like" he commands, "girls like me?" baffled about what Eddie just said, "i mean girls like you would do anything for there boyfriends even steal" he replied you look at him annoyed with his response. "Whatever Eddie you really know how to be a dick" you pass him the money as he hands you the bag. "Just get out I've seen your face enough today ". So you do exactly that you step out the trailer but just before the door shuts "wait Eddie" you speak "what?" he reacted to you "why" you stutter "why do you hate me please give me a honest answer please cause i really don't know why" you add "I don.." you cut him off "don't say you don't cause it's clear you do i mean don't think i haven't heard what you say around school, so please don't lie you, just stopped talking to me you blocked my number you dogged me eds and i never knew why" you tear up as you are speaking your words the tears making you stutter, You don't know why it was happening or why it was all coming out but it did and you wanted to know the truth" he glared at you he could hear the pain in your voice he never meant to hurt you like that he never meant to hurt you at all. "i...

This Is why we can't have nice things - Eddie Munson
part 5
NOTE I am adding a new character his name is Alex and he is on the basketball team i imagine him as Conrad Fisher
It's been 3 weeks since I got kicked out of Hellfire, Cheerleading was going good I had the attention I wanted. Eddie had to deal with the Basketball team giving him shit in class and at lunchtime he got into 5 fights this week alone Im surprised he hasn't been suspended yet.
Jason was throwing a party today after his basketball game I was obviously invited knowing Eddie this will be a good opportunity to sell drugs. He will be there.
I was in the locker room changing from my cheer uniform to the dress I got for the party today it was a satin dress that hugged every curve in my body.
"Are you gonna wear that for the party?" Robin asked I was nervous it showed a lot more skin than I would have liked.
"Yes, is it bad should I go home and change it?" I said panic attacking my expression
"girl if I was straight I'd be gay for you in that dress." she joked knowing I knew she was gay.
"Really thank god," I sigh in relief. "Eddie will go crazy for it" she smirked "ROBIN" I smack her shoulder playfully "What don't tell me you are not wearing it for Alex," she said in defence.
yes, I wore it to make his blood boil I mean he is a man after all. It wasn't the fact that Eddie kicked me out of hell fire that enraged me is how he acted after we fucked this is why we can have nice things.
"How are things with Vickie," I asked trying to change the subject.
"I think she likes me Im not sure it's just the looks she gives me is so weird I don't want to fuck up what we have over me kissing her or telling her how I feel I'm trying my best to keep my chill." Robin yaps
"Relax take a breath just look out for hints and ask questions that might lead you somewhere. "
"I saw you with Alex the other day after chemistry." She said closing her locker she wore baggy jeans with a cute top.
"I was helping him with some homework" I giggled following her out to the school parking lot "was that homework included kissing him?"
"I didn't kiss him he kissed me" I clarified Alex was sweet and kind he wasn't like the other guys on the team he is cute but I don't know he might just pity me. The rumours started after hellfire that I was a victim of Eddie's cult or that I was groomed but Eddie was Almost 4 years older than me so our age gap wasn't a big one I turn 18 next week.
"So take your chance he is hot you are hot and clearly isn't as complicated as Eddie." She said opening the passenger side of my car.
"if he asks me out I won't say no. " I turned on the engine.
"Good!" she exclaimed.
...
The party was big everyone in school was there i lost Robin 10 minutes into the party. It wasn't long till Alex found me and got me a drink.
"Can we go somewhere quiet?" he yelled through the music I nodded in response he took me to the backyard of the house it was much quieter there.
"I want to ask you something," he said to me his eye focused on mine it was enchanting. the realisation hit me he was gonna ask me to be his girlfriend I saw that coming from a mile away we had been spending so much time after class for the past 3 weeks he was handsome and kind but I didn't want to shut him down I think might develop feelings for him the only thing was stopping me was me being hung up on Eddie speaking of which my glanced at him in the corner of my eyes he was making out with a blond girl I couldn't place who she was but he was looking at me and Alex focused on us more than the girl with him.
"Sure ask away" I chuckled nervously my heart was beating faster by the minute. "I really Like you Y/N" he stated "I like you too Alex" I sheepishly answered he was nervous. " I want to ask you if you want to be my girlfriend" his voice deepened. Eddie was still looking at us raining on my parade
"I would love to be your girlfriend." I smiled he kissed me Alex kissed me it was soft and gentle like he was afraid to break me.
his hand slid on my cheeks deepening the kiss it was passionate not hungry and urgent, it was nice.
we went back to the rest of the party Alex yelled something through music to his friends I gathered that he was telling them that he asked me out and I said yes The next thing I knew I was crowd surfing.
god, this isn't how I pictured it going.
"Toast, toast, toast!" they cheered at me one of them giving me a drink and Alex carrying me on his shoulders
"Here is a toast to my real friends they don't care about the He said She said!" the crowd roared "And here is to my baby he doesn't care about what they are calling me lately." I scanned the room my eyes falling on Eddie the crowd going silent knowing where eyes looked "And here is to you because forgiveness is a nice thing to do" the crowd started murmuring Alex looked up at me confused until I started laughing so hard I if it wasn't for Alex holding me tight I would fell "I can't even say it with a straight face" they all started laughing cheering and drinking all the drinks in their hands. Alex dropped me down on my legs giving me a kiss
I took a glimpse at Eddie where I could swear I saw steam coming out of his ears. This is why we can't have nice things

How many hrt's are in this Wikipedia page?
https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Plug-in_electric_vehicle
Thanks for the ask, but lovingly I aint doing.... all that...
This is an 8500 word article of very big words and I am a human being, not a machine. That being said, I'm not outright denying this ask, but I'm not going to do 8500 words of tedious, painstaking work. This is a fun blog and my commitment to the bit is not worth weeks of work. Thanks for understanding <3
The first section, or summary of the article, has 60 counts of HRT
Plug-in electric vehicle
A plug-in electric vehicle (PEV) is any road vehicle that can utilize an external source of electricity (such as a wall socket that connects to the power grid) to store electrical energy within its onboard rechargeable battery packs, to power an electric motor and help propelling the wheels. PEV is a subset of electric vehicles, and includes all-electric/battery electric vehicles (BEVs) and plug-in hybrid electric vehicles (PHEVs).[5][6][7] Sales of the first series production plug-in electric vehicles began in December 2008 with the introduction of the plug-in hybrid BYD F3DM, and then with the all-electric Mitsubishi i-MiEV in July 2009, but global retail sales only gained traction after the introduction of the mass production all-electric Nissan Leaf and the plug-in hybrid Chevrolet Volt in December 2010.
HRT 11
Plug-in electric cars have several benefits compared to conventional internal combustion engine vehicles. All-electric vehicles have lower operating and maintenance costs, and produce little or no air pollution when under all-electric mode, thus (depending on the electricity source) reducing societal dependence on fossil fuels and significantly decreasing greenhouse gas emissions, but recharging takes longer time than refueling and is heavily reliant on sufficient charging infrastructures to remain operationally practical. Plug-in hybrid vehicles are a good in-between option that provides most of electric cars' benefits when they are operating in electric mode, though typically having shorter all-electric ranges, but have the auxiliary option of driving as a conventional hybrid vehicle when the battery is low, using its internal combustion engine (usually a gasoline engine) to alleviate the range anxiety that accompanies current electric cars.
HRT 16
Cumulative global sales of highway-legal plug-in electric passenger cars and light utility vehicles achieved the 1 million unit mark in September 2015,[8] 5 million in December 2018.[9] and the 10 million unit milestone in 2020.[10] Despite the rapid growth experienced, however, the stock of plug-in electric cars represented just 1% of all passengers vehicles on the world's roads by the end of 2020, of which pure electrics constituted two thirds.[11]
HRT 7
As of December 2023, the Tesla Model Y ranked as the world's top selling highway-capable plug-in electric car in history.[1] The Tesla Model 3 was the first electric car to achieve global sales of more than 1,000,000 units.[12][13] The BYD Song DM SUV series is the world's all-time best selling plug-in hybrid, with global sales over 1,050,000 units through December 2023.[14][15][16][17][18][19]
HRT 11
As of December 2021, China had the world's largest stock of highway legal plug-in electric passenger cars with 7.84 million units, representing 46% of the world's stock of plug-in cars.[20] Europe ranked next with about 5.6 million light-duty plug-in cars and vans at the end of 2021, accounting for around 32% of the global stock.[21][22][23] The U.S. cumulative sales totaled about 2.32 million plug-in cars through December 2021.[24] As of July 2021, Germany is the leading European country with cumulative sales of 1 million plug-in vehicles on the road,[25] and also has led the continent plug-in sales since 2019.[22][26] Norway has the highest market penetration per capita in the world,[27] and also achieved in 2021 the world's largest annual plug-in market share ever registered, 86.2% of new car sales.[28]

Bite Back Part 8
Part 9- https://www.tumblr.com/mylittlediarys-stuff/754787032385159168/bite-back-part-9?source=share
Well, the girl did hate dinner, but there was one thing she loved doing afterward. Ever since she got her power, she started playing around with it every day after dinner. Currently, she was jumping off walls and shooting webs. She was trying to perfect the act of shooting webs while swinging with them, which was pretty hard to do in her room.
Then a thought formed in her head.
What if I practice in the city?
More room, more space, more freedom to do whatever she wants. She went to her closet to look for clothes to wear during her adventure. As she looked, she thought,
There is always the chance that Bruce will catch me. If he does, I’m in deep shit.
She threw on a black jacket.
Matter of fact, if anyone catches me, I’m done for. They could sell me to some lab or something.
She found some black cargo jeans she hadn’t worn in years.
But this is the best chance to practice. It would be good for me to be good at the spider stuff before I tell Bruce.
Maybe he will be a bit proud of me then. I could join the family business.
She found some old red Converse she used to love to wear, but the material of the shoes might be too thick for her to use her powers.
She switched the Converse for ballerina slippers. The flats were thin enough for her feet to still stick to walls. She somehow found a face mask to cover her face with. She left her phone just in case someone decided to check her location but she doubted anyone would.
Instead of a phone, she brought her old watch that was barely working so she could read the time. She locked the door and put a chair right in front of it, just in case Alfred felt the need to come and check-in.
She opened the window in her room and looked back.
Is this the wrong thing to do? … Nah, I'm just gonna do my own thing.
She jumped from her window, hoping to land on her feet.
-
Amaka had been wandering the city for 30 minutes, trying to find a building she could climb. She had forgotten how scary Gotham could be at night.
That one looks good!
It was a medium-height building, not too tall, not too small. She easily started to walk on the walls, it was like walking on air. When she reached the top, she saw a somewhat beautiful view for Gotham.
Even an ugly city like this could look beautiful.
She sat down on the edge of the building, just taking everything in. If she had her phone, she would start playing some Lana Del Rey songs or something like that.
She had sat there for about 10 minutes when she got this feeling. The same feeling she got before the car crash and before Damian threw that knife. Like something bad was about to happen.
She got up and hurried to find someplace to hide. She found some boxes that looked like enough protection for her. She saw some kind of door open, and three men walked out, two of them pulling a lady by her hair and one with a gun. The men holding the lady kick her knees in, forcing the lady to kneel.
“Listen here, bitch, if you don’t tell me where that money is,” the man with the gun pointed his gun towards her head, “well, all I can say is I love the smell of gunpowder.”
Are they going to kill her? No shit, Sherlock, of course they are.
She reached into her pocket to pull her phone. This was the one time being Bruce’s kid was a good thing.
Shit. I didn’t bring it.
“Look, you know I can’t tell you anything,” the lady said.
Girl, you better say something, or you’re gonna die.
“Then I got no choice.” He is going to kill her. Amaka slowly got up from her spot.
I have these powers, I show put them to good use. I shouldn't sit around and be a coward.
Amaka slowly got up from her spot.
“First of all, put the gun down, and second, I call bullshit. Gunpowder doesn’t have a smell,” Amaka said, lowkey regretting the joke. Her stomach sank when the man pointed the gun toward her.
“And who are you?”
She took a deep breath in, she decided to be a funny hero person so she might as well stick with the act.
“Just a peaceful person who doesn’t go pointing guns at people,” she started pointing her hand at the gun. “I mean you should put that down. That could hurt someone.”
“Usually, when people see a gun, they put their hands up,” the man said.
Oh, I’m definitely going to regret this.
“I have the perfect names for you three: Stupid 1, 2, and 3.”
“Stupid?” The man holding the gun said, visibly angry now.
“At least you’re Stupid 1, not 2 or 3.” At that, she released a web towards the gun and got it. “Stupid for letting me get your gun.”
She took the bullets out and was able to bend the gun into a u shape.
“What the f—”
“Hey, Stupid 1, don’t curse. This needs to stay kid-friendly,” Amaka said. She was having a little too much fun with this.
The other two men let go of the lady and started to run towards Amaka. The man who was holding the gun joined the others. She was thankful to her past self for watching her family practice fighting for hours. She didn't realize she learned so much by just watching.
She mostly dodged most of their hits and gave a few back, (she realized how much she needed to hold back if you wanted to kill the men) and it helped that they were slow and she was just… Superhuman?
“You fellas need to fight over me, it’s enough to go around.” The more she talked, the more she felt like a different person. Sure, she threw jokes around once in a while, but not like this.
In the end, she was able to get them all to the ground and web them up. She grabbed the phone in Stupid 1’s pocket and called the police. She turned to the lady, who looked stunned.
“The police will be here soon, so stay here or leave, I guess.”
“Who are you?”
“Who am I?” She had to think about that. “I don’t really know. I’ll get back to you in two business weeks.”
And with that, she took a risk and jumped off the building. When the lady saw that, she rushed to the edge, thinking her hero just committed suicide. But no, Amaka used her webs to swing to a building.
I bet I look so cool right now.
Extra-
Lady’s POV
The minute the hero left, the lady who looked helpless turned into a different person. She pulled out her phone and called one of her friends.
“Nat, done with the mission that fast.”
“Nope, I got interrupted I’m gonna need to stay for a few more days.”
Nat started to look at the three men who were tied up by these white things. To the women, it looked like thick spider webs.
“Tony, we got a new player in Gotham,” and turned her head away the stupid men.
“What do you mean player? You mean some kind of hero.” Tony replied.
“Yeah, what do you think I mean? And I’m pretty sure they’re not working for the Bat… at least not yet,” she said.
“Really, a hero that isn’t with Bruce?” Tony said. “Nat I’m gonna need you to work your magic and track that hero down. I want them on our side before Bruce gets to them. S.H.I.E.L.D. needs a hero in Gotham that we can trust.”

What's your all-time favorite Bob's Burgers episode? Like this is YOUR episode? (You can list multiple if you want!)
Babs you don't know how loaded that question is, I genuinely cant choose just one. I really have to rewatch past episodes as well as catch up on the newer seasons that I've missed cause its definitely been a hot minute since i watched an episode.
Some of my favorites have to be (in no particular order):
Glued, Where's My Bob? - I mean HELLO??? Definitely one of the most memorable eps. The music i think is what gets me, Bad Things Happen in the Bathroom will always be a banger
The Quirkducers - Any Thanksgiving ep is a good ep, but when I think back to this one, its definitely means a lot to me emotionally. Seeing a girl feel like she doesn't fit in & long to be like all the other 'turkeys', facing self image issues in many diff ways really got to me, cause I saw myself in her in those moments especially. For her to then sing about gaining confidence and having 'the guts' to be herself made me shed so many tears. not to mention that song being top 5 best Bobs Burgers songs, its so good.
Tina-rannosauras Wrecks - The car scene is one of my favorite bits they've done, period. It made my dad crack up (which is extremely hard to do), and I love the "show me your everything is ok face" scene. My family always says that I'm Tina, and eps like this are always used as an example lol. Perfection.
Gayle Makin' Bob Sled - Don't remember this one that much but its one we used to play repeatedly on Thanksgiving, so it means a lot nostalgia-wise.
Easy Com-mercial, Easy Go-mercial - This ep will always hold a special place in my heart cause it was the very first full episode my family & I ever watched of Bob's Burgers on tv (our 1st ever experience with the show being the last 2 minutes of the "Speakeasy Rider" ep on tv). It was so funny and quotable with the "Come meet our family, and let us 'meat' you" & "Super-bowel" bits. It was our first true exposure to the show, and ever since then we've been hooked and stream it every now and then. Definitely one of my top 10 if I ever make a true ranking one day.
Wharf Horse pt 1 &/or 2 - decided to add this one cause I honestly love any ep with Calvin in it, but i also found Felix in this super funny as well. My fave bits probably have to be when Felix is trying to create a distraction with his robot-leg-thing bit and when he screams "WHAT" when Calvin says he's never selling the Wharf (the rage is so visceral and comedic its insane, I think about that bit way too often). AND THE END CREDITS SCENE AND MUSIC IS SO BADASS LIKE IT MAKES ME FEEL LIKE IM ASCENDING EVERY TIME I THINK ABOUT IT
and like so many others I can't even think of rn
Hope this suffices! Thanks a bunch Babs!

Todays rip: 29/10/2023
If Pazuzu Sneezes Do You Still Say Bless You?
Season 6 Featured on: The SiIvaGunner Party Pack 7
Credited to "Anonymous Andy"
youtube
Part of Spooktacular Week!
Would you believe me if I said, for all that I've posted this week (and for the two rips still to be posted) - THIS was the one I was the most excited about? And, as you may have noticed - nobody submitted it as a request beforehand either! Somehow this absolute gem of a rip, one I only discovered earlier this month, and partially inspired me to even DO a spooky week, still sits at barely 15K views! Anonymous Andy, whoever you are, it's time I make you proud.
Yesterday, I talked about Sidelined Symphony and mentioned briefly about how it creatively tied itself to Halloween through using a song by YouTuber Chills (who, i forgot to mention anywhere in that post - reads scary stories on his YouTube channel). If Pazuzu Sneezes Do You Still Say Bless You?, then, sits at the complete opposite end of the table - it celebrates everything thats LOUDLY and proudly scary on YouTube, in particular one of the cornerstones of old YouTube - screamer videos.
You've all seen them at one point or another, right? Innocent looking, obscure, weird videos or even flash games that, just as you try to get invested, slam the door on you with a loud jumpscare and some sort of grotesque or scary imagery. These came in all sorts of forms - I remember my first exposure to them came in the form of a fake Mario Kart Wii shortcut video on Daisy Circuit. But there were loads of more popular ones: The "Scary Maze Game", "Ghost Car", the fake game of "Where's Waldo", and so much more. With the internet and many of its users still in its infancy, online horror media had this sense of complete mystery to them, that caught so many young kids off guard. If Pazuzu Sneezes Do You Still Say Bless You? is a YTPMV, or more accurately a 音MAD, that boldly celebrates this culture of online horror screamers - sampling several of the above-mentioned sources and more into a tune I cannot get enough of.
And part of that is just the Yousuke Yasui magic, right? I've covered it already on here with Siiva Lining and 【=3】e-MUNO Disco (vs. 音MAD AGENT), the latter similarly being a YTPMV/音MAD of another song from the very same game as today's rip. The guy's music is just so infectiously catchy, and has had a long history of being remixed on NicoNico Douga in particular - something I obviously can't quite speak to as someone who hasn't ever really explored the site's history. Althesame, the Japanese-internet roots of If Pazuzu Sneezes Do You Still Say Bless You? are inescapable - one of the pieces of media most prominently featured in its visuals is the Japanese browser-based horror game Lomando.com, a rabbithole I would love to fall into someday, yet one that simple oozes the charm of early-internet horror much like all the screamers of young YouTube.
And really, that charm is what sells me on this rip as a whole. Screamers of this type are a relic of a bygone age, yet one that I was part of - a piece of internet history that I got to see be born and slowly fade away, as the internet became more closely moderated and people learned to watch for warning signs throughout. For as many nightmares as the ones I saw instilled in me, there's something oddly nostalgic about them in hindsight - and that nostalgia just turns to full-on warmth seeing them arranged to such a cheerful tune as Bless You! boy. If Pazuzu Sneezes Do You Still Say Bless You? is, on all fronts, a TOP-tier YTPMV/音MAD, right alongside the best the channel has to offer like those by Robomi and GramBam36.

Snake with legs
Spectacular day. After an absolutely absolutely horrible night of sleep, we got up to the hotel breakfast and then decided to drive 15 km to Lake Bovilla. The drive took over an hour because most of the roads were similar to Mogillan Rim roads of gravel and stones and potholes and one lane roads. In addition, there was a mine about halfway there, and so we were dealing with passing bulldozers and trucks full of rock and stone and every large equipment imaginable. And it was all switch back roads. There is a picture of one part of the road that I stuck my hand out the window of the car and tried to show what we were driving through. We got to the reservoir and it was stunning. It’s a man-made reservoir outside of town and it serves as most of Tirana‘s water source. We parked right at the start and walked up the switchback road then across the field then up a trail then up the side of a mountain even with Caroline’s horrible fear of heights, we made it to the lookout. In one picture I took from the grassy field we cut across you can just see in the distance the lookout way on top of the mountain. The views were fantastic. The people that were up there were crazy taking risks to get the perfect picture. We sat up there and met people from all over the world for about 30 to 45 minutes. One couple was from Germany and they are in a camper van with their three Chihuahua type dogs for seven weeks. The names were toffeefay, viola, and butterscotch. We headed back down and met a shepherd with his goats and lambs and horse who we had to pay in order to take pictures of. Nice side gig. Check out the goat climbing a tree to eat. I think pictures tell the story of this best. Look at how high we were look at how far we walked. It was all spectacular.
Well, on the way up while walking through the meadows, a tour group was right behind us with the tour leader in front. As we were walking, I could hear things being thrown into bushes, etc. I looked back and he was throwing rocks. I asked him why he was throwing rocks, and he said “because of the snakes I want to scare them away”. I said snakes!? What snakes!? And he said oh there are lots of snakes. And I said, “oh! what kind of snakes?” and he said.
“snakes with legs” at that point it dawned on me, basically he was afraid of lizards. Snakes with legs.
Lunch. On the way back, we passed this farmhouse type restaurant. They had blocked off some of the reservoir water and made a swimming hole. We sat down and had some traditional meatballs which really look like weasel penises and were delicious, some cheese dish and feta cheese. For $.50 I also bought a sample of the homemade Reki. This is the local liquor that everyone makes and sells along the road. I took a sip, Caroline took a sip, and we gave the rest to a group of German boys. (Think Everclear)Then I decided to get in the “hole”. As you can imagine everyone was quite impressed. It was cold, but it wasn’t as cold as my pool in December. So no problem. $4 total for lunch.
Then we hit the road for the trip back.
My favorite part of the drive back is when we got into the city and a 10-year-old boy and maybe his 12-year-old brother ran up to the car and started washing our windshield. We were screaming “no no”.. and we rolled up the windows and started pulling forward in traffic. But the boy was relentless so the nicest person in the world, Caroline, flips off the 10-year-old boy. He was shocked. Then he saw me through the front windshield laughing hysterically and he flipped off Caroline. Which got even better. He and I were laughing so hard. We couldn’t stop. Then he and his brother ran over and started sponging water hearts on our window. Or maybe it was a penis I’m not sure.
We got back, changed part of our clothes and headed out to check out the bazaar, a famous bridge, the great mosque, didn’t have much success at any of those things. Milled about, had coffee at 7:00, Dinner at 9:00…A traditional restaurant where we had lamb, vegetable, stuffed eggplant, and a liter of Albanian wine. I must say the Albanian wine is excellent. They also accidentally brought us these massive rolled grape leaves..like dolmas.
Now, true to form, we are going to pour our extra liter of wine into our water bottles to walk back to the hotel.
Great day. And big plans for tomorrow. Enjoy the photos.

The Studio
“Hey Nineteen” (1980) Steely Dan MCA Records (Written by Walter Becker and Donald Fagen) Highest U.S. Billboard Chart Position – No. 10
"From noon till six we'd play the tune over and over and over again, nailing each part. We'd go to dinner and come back and start recording. They made everybody play like their life depended on it. But they weren't gonna keep anything anyone else played that night, no matter how tight it was. All they were going for was the drum track.”                                        - Jeff Porcaro, Musician
Like a python wrapping itself around the beating heart of Rock and roll more and more tightly, this was the last charting single for the last album in Steely Dan’s classic period (it would be 20 years until they would release another album, Two Against Nature, in 2000).  The stories of their recording methods reinforce this metaphor: what was once a real touring band of musicians had whittled itself down to just Becker and Fagen rehearsing the best artists in the world over and over and over again to achieve an exactness and fidelity that has never really been matched.  I remember “Hey Nineteen” charting in 1980; it was right there on the radio beside Blondie’s “Call Me” and Olivia Newton-John’s “Magic”, playing nice but certainly not fitting in.  They played it over and over again, a kind of spiritless meditation on something my teenage brain could never parse (The Cuervo Gold?  The Fine Columbian?).  Even today it is the kind of song one can never get to the center of, the smoothest track in the middle of the road: slick, perfect, and eternal. Like all of their hits it stuck around to sell a lot of copies but never really went to the top of the charts (one of the most successful bands ever to have never achieved a No. 1 anything).
Today some folks call this Yacht Rock (a term I mildly dislike as generic) which is ironic considering it is hard to imagine these two city slickers anywhere near a boat, or even in the wild.  I can only ever see them in the studio playing mad scientist with the idea of fidelity.  This much I know: I have a decent turntable setup and nothing touches Gaucho for sound quality—1979 is at the top of the top for the old idea of a great studio record.  The only vinyl record that may top it is Fleetwood Mac’s Tusk or Dan’s own Gaucho.  This is the result of all that squeezing: what starting out at a very high level with Can’t Buy a Thrill (their debut in 1972) only got more and more refined with every album.  By the time one gets to Gaucho (after the lush but boozy hangover and strung-out feeling of Aja) there is a kind of plateau-ing, a linear quality, to all of the rehearsing and perfecting and playing every note until it almost fails to exist.  Don’t get me wrong, this is a record I love—but at a distance, because it was constructed to keep you there.
There are so many legends surrounding the LP: that it was (up to that point) the most expensive ever made (over a million 1979 dollars); that it was heavily delayed by the band’s perfectionism (it took well over a year to record); that is was surrounded by tragedy and drug use (a terrible car accident for Becker, 6 months of hospitalization, his heroin addiction, and the death of his girlfriend).  The hyper focus of Fagen and Becker, rehearsing musicians to exhaustion to get every note perfect, included their famous engineer Roger Nichols (formerly a nuclear physicist!) who was given $150,000 of the budget to create a computer that could process the live drum sounds for them to manipulate exactingly (he named it Wendel and the RIAA bestowed the machine its own framed, platinum copy of Gaucho in acknowledgement).  There was the three-way legal battle between MCA, Warner Brothers and Steely Dan to actually release the thing (their original label, ABC Records, had been acquired by MCA).  Lastly there was the sign of the times in the new “Premium Pricing” by MCA, a hike in album prices from $8.98 to $9.98 for the more expensively-produced records (I guess) which included Tom Petty & The Heartbreakers Hard Promises and the soundtrack for Xanadu, although I am not sure it ever went into effect after a lot of bad press.  One legend that seems plainly true is that this year was one of the last for huge, expensive, lavishly-produced studio records.  Like the old Hollywood system, it simply could not hold any more, and something leaner was right around the corner; if not inevitable, then necessary to move the art form forward.
Maybe this is the reason that “Hey Nineteen” sounded so anachronistic that year: it was by then a hologram from that ever-distant land of the 70s long player, richly produced, genre-defying, Empyrean, graceful.  Go on to an internet message board or read any history of Steely Dan and you will find there the endless jabber about their relative goodness or badness in the great cause of Rock Music, by jazzing it up, or slimming it down, or mellowing it out, or squeezing it too hard in rehearsals (Gaucho is deliciously given one star by Dave Marsh in The Rolling Stone Record Guide, 1983) but trust me: pay them no mind.  Just drop the needle, rejoice in the cleanest sound in stereo ever attempted by anyone anywhere, and spend time with some of the best musicians who have ever lived.
-
Roger Nichols, after being with the band as a peerless sound engineer for over 30 years (and on all of their 7 classic-period albums), was unceremoniously let go during the middle of recording of Everything Must Go, right after the disaster of 9-11.  His wife Connie described it as an “emotional dagger to his heart and soul” and him as heartbroken.  No definitive reason seems to be well known. Nichols sadly passed away in 2011 of pancreatic cancer at the age of 66.
Right before the pandemic Connie found a clear cassette in Nichols’ things marked “The Second Arr” in black Sharpie pen (she had never had the heart to throw away anything with his handwriting on it).  This turned out to be a copy of a very famous lost master track from Gaucho, “The Second Arrangement”, which after months of recording and $80,000 invested, and complete, was accidentally taped over by a second engineer (whew - poor guy).  This tape was from the night before that event.  Fagen and Becker considered re-recording it, but being absolute perfectionists, they realized it was hopeless and moved on.
Connie Nichols waited out the pandemic to have the tape professionally converted, fearing it would fall apart.  Later, another (even better) copy, a DAT tape, was discovered by her.  It can be heard here (most clearly in the second post, clocking in at 5:46) from the substack Expanding Dan.  It is rather wonderful.

HAN SELLS BEN???????????? PLEASE
You're not the only one to ask! Han sells Ben is a modern AU where Han is a single father struggling to raise Ben. He goes into a lot of debt. And that debt starts being owed to worse and worse people. To settle is debts, one suggests they can take his son and put him to good use. Han goes along with this, rationalising it as Han being unable to provide, and thinks Ben will be put to work in the boxing rings that this gang run. He's wrong, Ren has other plans for the son of Leia Organa, the politician who is trying to shut him down. And who better to share the message back to her, than the ex husband she entrusted the kid to?
She needn't worry though, Ren will look after Ben much better than Han ever did.
--Essentially, RenBen noncon from the PoV of Han. It's not pleasant, here's a bit of the first draft of how it starts
Han tried his best. He really did. He just was never cut out to be a single father, and he should have admitted that 9 years ago. It had been 10 years since his and Leia's divorce, and all Han kept was their son, Ben.
He had been given the option to go with whatever parent he chose. Of course, a seven year-old isn’t going to make the best decisions, and was currently hero-worshiping his dad, so straight off with Han he went.
In hindsight, letting a 7 year old make major life decisions is not a good idea.
(In hindsight, Han thinks that perhaps Leia knew Ben would choose him, she was always career driven and knew childcare would hold her back.)
The first few years were great, him and Ben, father and son versus the world. And then it all went downhill. First, Han lost his job, and then they lost their flat, and then the lack of money meant they had to give up their dog, Chewie (Ben never forgave him for that). They spent a short while living out of Han’s car, but that’s no way to raise a child.
That’s when Han started borrowing money. It was never loads, just enough to get by each month. Managed to get them a caravan on the edge of the city, still close enough so that Ben could cycle to school. He was a good student, not quite top of his class, but close. Han tries not to dwell on that though - maybe if Ben had a more stable home life, he would be the best student. Either way, Ben had his whole future ahead of him, and Han was not going to let that be ruined.
He continues borrowing money - it just makes sense. Live on the brink of starvation without any sort of roof over their head, or borrow a bit here and there to help make ends meet. He never fails to pay it back, and it’s only ever small amounts, to cover food and fuel. Just enough that he can get to his next job and never too much that he can’t pay it back before the loan sharks come knocking.
—--
“Yeah.. Ok. Ok.”
The decision doesn’t take as long as Han would have liked it to, and he hates himself for it.
He’s never been good at them. It’s how he ended up in this mess. From agreeing to take Ben in 10 years ago as a single father right up to now, destitute and owing money. The large man grins. His teeth glint in the dark.
Han feels sick to his stomach.
“Well you heard the man, boys. Go get him.”
Han’s heart is hammering in his chest and he feels like he might throw up. He almost stops and rescinds his side, ready to argue for his son, happy to offer himself up instead. Almost, but then something stops him. He doesn’t know what Ren wants Ben for, but Ben is a big lad and can hold his own in a fight. Ren probably wants him as a guard, indoctrinate the youth into the gang culture and he’ll have a loyal follower for years. That, or perhaps the underground boxing rings. Han is sure Ben could make some big money there. He’s gotten into enough fights at school that he could hold his own in a ring, Han is sure. With a bit of training, he could make a man like Ren a fortune. Either way, it’s a future for Ben, one which Han is unable to provide. And if he wins big in the rings, maybe he will remember Han and help him out?
He turns to leave, finally a free man after years of debt had plagued him. (And free from the burdens of raising a teenager alone).
“I wouldn’t leave so soon, Han… Don’t you want to say goodbye to your son?”
He doesn’t. He really doesn’t. He doesn’t think he could look in those brown eyes (so much like his mothers) and admit he sold him. Admit that he has hit rock bottom so many times that the only way to claw himself out is to exchange his own flesh and blood.
But Ren doesn’t give him a choice, as two of his ‘knights’ move to stand in his way. “I don’t need to see him, Ren. You’ve got what you want, and I’m sure he will make a great boxer, but you’ve already taken him from me. Don’t make me have to say goodbye to him too” With that he hears the larger man chuckle from his seat. “Boxing? Who said anything about boxing?”
“You can’t send him out doing drug runs, Ren. He’s seventeen, he has no street smarts, he’ll get caught” Han looks back up at the gang lord, eyebrows furrowed
“Don’t you worry your little head about it Han, I won’t let your precious boy out of my sight. Someone grab him a seat, he’ll want to see this”

Today was a very very rainy and foggy day. Shockingly so at times. I am cozy in bed now. And I had a pretty nice day. It was a lot busier then I expected. But that was not a problem.
We got home around 1. I was falling asleep in the car but fighting it. We brought our stuff upstairs and got stuff out away. I took a shower and washed my hair and was asleep pretty quickly. We were beat and we both had to be up in the morning.
I dont remember James leaving. But they would text me when they were safely at work. I woke up at 9 and felt pretty alright. I was not as overwhelmingly exhausted like I expected. I got washed and dressed and felt good.
I did not have breakfast. I felt a little to stressed for that. I thought maybe I would grab something before the market but I just packed a yogurt and hoped for the best.
It was raining very hard and I was very surprised. I just didn't think the drops would be so large. So I was a little worried. I left a bit early to give myself time and figure out where to park and everything at the museum. And I'm glad I did.
I could not figure out how to get to the building. I looked at the map and had to loop a few times before I finally figured it out. And it was absolutely pouring so I was a little stressed when they said we had to go around the back of the building. Two of the other venders were waiting in their cars to see if the rain let up at all. But it didn't seem like it was going to. So once I spoke the the coordinator I just got my wagon and started loading up. Someone form the musuem carried my one picnic basket and I just walked with purpose and tried to get inside without being soaked.
Once everything was in I brought my wagon back to the car and drove my car to the street. I grabbed an umbrella and went back to the museum up the hill. I absolutely forgot my umbrella at the museum which I'm only mildly annoyed about. But it is alright. I have many umbrellas.
I set up pretty quickly. In about 10 minutes. And I was very happy with my display. The other couple venders were setting up still so I had some time to wander the house.
This place was very cool. This was a summer home in the 1800s. And the styling was just so cool. I loved seeing all the details. And the use of color. Some really darling features that I loved so much. For sure inspo for our future home.
We would have some foot traffic! I was honestly a little surprised only because the weather was so crumby. But my theory that it would make people come inside did seem partially true. And I was able to give out my card a while bunch and talk up a few workshops and private classes and commissions. And I did sell a few things. Not a ton but I am whole from the table cost of this week and last week with a little extra on top. So I didn't feel so defeated. Plus I was just having fun.
The woman next to me owns a jewelery store I actually am familiar with! It is a little shop inside the Mt Vernon marketplace. And she was such a big and lovely personality. She wanted all of us to be best friends and honestly by the end I swear we were. When it was quiet or slow we were all giving each other suggestions for business ideas and talking about how running businesses is and what matters to each of us and it was just such a lovely environment and energy and I really needed that bit of community. It just felt really good.
It was a short market but I felt like I got a lot out of it. Plus there was a live harp player and that was lovely to hear. I also got to see them open the big front door with a comically giant skeleton key and it made us loading everything out a lot easier. And it wasn't raining as much.
I went down and got my car and as usual, I was the first one in and the first one out. I packed up very quickly and was out of there. Lovely to meet everyone and followed each other on Instagram to keep in contact for the future.
I was starving though. My little yogurt did keep me from being woozy but I needed to eat and last night all I wanted was a hoagie. So that is what I went and got.
I drove out to Towson and got a Wawa hoagie. I was a little frustrated that I didn't have as much water left as I thought. But it was fine and I enjoyed my sandwich in the car while it continued to get foggier and foggier.
I would go home after that. I was surprised how terrible the weather was. I checked in with James about coming to get them from work. And that was decided.
So I went home to wait the hour before it was time to pick them up. I put some stuff away. Charged my phone. Hugged on sweetp. And at 4 I left to get my husband.
I was very happy to see them. And them me. And Angie was there!! I'm going to miss her when she leaves next month so I was really glad I got a hug today. Love Angie. And me and James went home.
We had about an hour here before we were going to see two houses. I chilled on the couch and tried to not lose the small amount of energy I still had.
But soon we were heading to Patterson to see the first house.
And I really liked this one. Like it was a flip but a nice one. Like they actually seemed to care. It was a little boring but I saw the potential. And I loved a lot about it. I am not making any decisions but man. This one seemed great and just weird enough that I can use a lot of decoration to bring back the original charms without having to worry about major plumbing or electrical issues.
We had another to see but this one was not good. Very very narrow. It almost felt like three studio apartments stacked on top of each other. This was just not it. But we used it as a spot to discuss what we were doing. Money, budget, hopes, dreams, all of that. We decided to look at a house I found that's a little farther east then we originally thought we would want. But it looks really nice in pictures so I think it's worth checking out.
The problem I'm having emotionally though is I'm very tired so everything feels more. And James loved the other house from last week so much so them not loving this one that I like, even though they say they like it, makes me second guess. They said they are struggling with seeing it staged with furniture which is fair, I had to really do some picturing to make it work on my head. But I really could see us happy there and getting to do the fun projects and decorating and all of that we want to do.
We left there and I asked them a question about decorating but they answered a different question about the house itself. Like they didn't understand what I meant and I spiraled a little. Worried. Dad called me and that helped distract me for the moment but once I was off the phone I was trying not to be sad and try to talk through what they were thinking.
I requested we go to a diner so they took me to tambers and we got sandwiches there. We looked at Pinterest and talked about what that house would accomplish for us. And I tried to see that they did like it, I was just feeling a little misunderstood.
I was also just exhausted and wanted to go home. It was still pouring but we got back here in one piece and relatively dry.
James went to finish the laundry and I took a shower. Got cozy in bed with the warm laundry and tried to feel better.
We talked and it helped. But I am very dehydrated right now and it's starting to give me a headache. So it is time to sleep.
We have a chill day tomorrow. And I'm looking forward to it. I hope you all have a nice night tonight and stay safe wherever you are. I love you all. Goodnight.

Lyrics:
OK, you're on your own, it's late
Your girlfriend is on another date with the hero in your dream
Turn around, ask yourself. So, you think you're gonna win this time Manchild?
Is it the pain of the drinking
Or the Sunday sinking feeling
The car never seems to work
When it's late your girlfriend's on a date
And the hero with her in your dream
In your sleep it seemed to like you
Turn around and ask yourself
Turn around ask yourself
Manchild, will you ever win
Manchild, look at the state you're in
Could you go undercover
And sell your brand new lover (could you)
Be someone else for a night
Maybe someone else will love you
You sell your soul for a tacky song
Like the one you hear on the radio
Turn around ask yourself
Turn around and ask yourself
Manchild, will you ever win
Manchild, look at the state you're in
Manchild, he will make you cry
Manchild, Manchild, Manchild
From Monday down to Friday
You're working on another man's car
Or is it in the factory?
It doesn't matter where you are
Just turn around and ask yourself is this communication
Accentuate the positive and give some illustration
See Manchild, you're no one, you turn the microphone on
Control communication when I'm kickin' it and so on
To the point that I need, the air that I breathe
Into an audience that's waiting and ecstatic to receive-
For the meantime another mean rhyme, I keep on sayin' it
I know what the time is the crowd will keep playing it
Through the speaker boxes loud's my diagnosis
'Cause I believe in miracles and words in heavy doses.
Enough R-E-S-P-E and C-T
Respect yourself express no stress the mike is easy
Just believe that all you need is the air that you breathe.
Turn around ask yourself
Manchild, will you ever win
Manchild, look at the state you're in
Manchild, he will make you cry
Manchild, Manchild, Manchild
He's the apple of your eye
Once bitten twice shy, why don't you bite me again
Just take it in the right and go tell your friend
Are you ready for the words I turn the microphone on
A figure of speech to reach you at the back and so on
The style I'm stimulating dance floors
Raise your body temperature now and
This demands for power in the amp you know louds my diagnosis
'Cause I believe in miracles and words in heavy doses.
Songwriter:
Cameron Mcvey / Neneh Cherry / Robert Del Naja
SongFacts:
"Manchild" is a song by Swedish singer-songwriter Neneh Cherry, released as the second single from her debut album, Raw Like Sushi (1989). The single was a top-10 success in the United Kingdom, New Zealand and several European countries. "Manchild" did not chart in the United States or Canada. It was the first song Neneh sat down and wrote. She composed the song on a Casio keyboard (the same one she uses to this day), using an auto-chord setting and ended up with 7 chords in the verse alone. Neneh's stepfather Don Cherry commented on this praisingly, comparing it to a jazz song structure. Nellee Hooper did the beat for the song and wrote the rap with Robert Del Naja. Neneh then gave it to Cameron McVey, who helped to shape the song with the parts and "made it make sense".
The song's lyrics are "directed at a full-grown man who has a little more growing up to do". Neneh expressed the significance of the song for herself, stating it's where she found her sound: "I think "Manchild" was the song where I kind of found my style. I think that song, the style of the song, the spirit and the feeling of the song has reappeared; it always reappears along the way in other songs that I've written; therefore it became the most significant song that I ever wrote, in a way". The music video for "Manchild" was nominated for "Best Video" at the 1990 Brit Awards.
