hello ! i’m so glad i found your page, first of all. thank you po agad as your posts about psych have helped me get to know more about the /realities/ sa careers na kasama sa field. :))
i am currently taking up an undergrad degree in social science (sociology) in up as well ! i’ve wanted to shift to psych pero mukhang mahihirapan ako if i try as the slots are very limited. however, my envisioned career po eventually ay sa medical side talaga (i dream to either be a psychologist or a psychiatrist).
my question is, does it push me back sa psych path/career na i’m not an undergrad psych graduate? will it affect my goals to either proceed to clinical psych (and then take a psychologist licensure exam) or enroll in med school (become a psychiatrist)? is being a psych major a required step to pursue these careers? further, may advantages po ba na closely related naman ‘yung current program ko sa psych?
thank you very much ! ♡
Hello! I'm glad that my blog is somewhat helpful to you. 😊 Another person actually asked me a similar question, actually. You can check out my other responses to Asks on my page. But, anyway...
I wouldn't say that you're pushed back if the career you want is within psychology and your current program is sociology. However, having a psychology degree in college does afford you an advantage into some opportunities that can propel you into the field in psychology (e.g., jobs, grad school, etc.). But, that's not always the case in the real (adult) world. I have fellow classmates and peers who came from non-psychology college degrees, like fine arts, film, and business administration, just to name a few. I would even argue that other fields can also bring you advantages and creativity into how you will train yourself to become a psychologist. For example, at the top of my mind, I can imagine that sociological thoughts and ideas actually offer a lot of insight into how we look at mental health, psychotherapy, and the like.
When you step into grad school in psychology, many programs and schools will surely teach you the basics you may have missed from a bachelor's in psychology program (i.e., theories, research methods, etc.). Of course, having studied them back in college seems helpful, but ultimately it still depends on how you dedicate your effort and care into learning, no matter what college degree you have. Trust me, it will matter less as you journey further.
One thing though... I do notice that you seem to be considering two distinct paths: a psychologist OR a psychiatrist. These are two different roles/occupations but they do come with some similarities. While both overlap as a mental health professional, each requires a specific kind of training and timetable of formal education. At least in the Philippines, becoming a psychologist is faster on the average since it only requires you to complete a master's or doctorate degree (not MD!) before taking the licensure as a psychologist. On the other hand, becoming a psychiatrist requires you not only a medical degree, but also additional training and certification into specializing in psychiatry. Unfortunately, I cannot speak to how psychiatrists do training. I suggest looking for a psychiatrist you can ask about how they train. There are also some differences in approach to mental health as well but I won't elaborate them here for now (mas mahabang usapan na kasi yun hehe!). But, I do recommend that you learn more about each career path thoroughly.
My advice to you is to keep exploring your possibilities, even if you're in sociology, and decide to what you find is more important now and who you want to be in the future. Also, don't be afraid to take your chances no matter how small they are. I really don't want to tell you exactly what you should do -- and you're always free to disagree with me or take my words with a grain of salt -- but you will always miss all of the chances you never take. 😉
I hope this helps! Good luck!

Hello, everyone!! My name is Dyanne Pearl Pintucan Piñera, 16 years old, from Centro Sur, Sto. Niño, Cagayan. I was born on 23rd of August 2006. Yellow is one of my favorite colors. I like yellow because it always brings me energy and happiness. I have three brothers and I am the only princess of the family. About my parents, My mother is a teacher and my Father is a Fireman. I finished my Junior High School at Sto. Niño National High School. I also belongs to the honor roll from Elementary grade to my High School. I exerted effort not to fall. I am currently studying at St. Paul University of the Philippines. My hobbies are reading books, watching korean dramas and series, playing banduria and ukulele. I also love travelling and exploring new places. Fun fact about me is that I stan BLACKPINK. BLACKPINK caught my attention because of how endearingly the girls communicated with one another.I adored their music and was never dissatisfied with the raps, singing, or dancing. Whistle and Really are two of my fave BLACKPINK songs, and I absolutely adored the dance to Lovesick Girls. Jennie was my first bias, but now it's Lisa. Rosé was my first wrecker, and it has remained Rosé. Despite the fact that all the girls have incredible voices, I choose Blackpink. My favorite rapper in the group is Lisa, while Rosé is my favorite singer. BLACKPINK has always helped me get through difficult times and taught me a lot. Actually, I like capturing pictures of other people or things as much as of myself. I enjoy documenting my life and observing my own development through images of myself. Because it enables me to save priceless memories and special moments, I also enjoy shooting pictures of other people or things. I love learning and experiencing new things in life. I am thankful for what I have and want to do whatever I can to make others happy. However, I now keep in mind that in order to take care of others and make them happy, I need to take care of myself first.During my elementary days at Sto. Niño Central School Sped Center, I had been actively participating in Campus Journalism, Collaborative Writing and Desktop Publishing and Radio Broadcasting. Had joined the National Schools Press Conference in Radio Broadcasting and we garnered 3rd place. I was also 1st runner up in the Regional Most Outstanding Campus Journalist. Do the best of what I can is my motto. I wishes my dream to come true. That's why by all means the virtue to be a role model to my classmates too. Prioritizing my study is always on my mind. I really has to learn how to budget my time. I always make sure time will not be wasted. So that in due time, I will attain success.I put forward a lot of effort and have a strong desire to succeed. I'm excited to be here today and to learn more about the blogging community. I also look forward to the chance to demonstrate my skills to you.
Where do I see myself 10 years from now? Was my learning in SPUP vital to where I'm leading to?
In ten years, I foresee myself having some impressive credentials (a degree), working for a great company, spending time with my family, and contributing to my community and the environment. I'll make every effort, during the coming years, to carry out all of my goals. One of the top-performing universities in the area, Saint Paul University is also highly competitive. They offer education of an outstanding quality. And these are vital because it has been demonstrated in previous years that the majority of this school's alumni passed and are now employed in their fields of professionalism.
Was STEM the best choice after all?
I was utterly confused before I entered or chose this strand. I wasn't sure if it was appropriate for me to work in this industry. However, I went with STEM because it allows you to explore a variety of professional routes and offers many chances if you want to work in the fields of engineering, science, technology, and mathematics.
What course will you take in college and why?
Medical technology is the course I'll engage in since it has inspired me since I was a little child, it interests me, and I know that if I were to become a successful medical technologist, I would play a crucial part in my nation and aid those who needed proper diagnosis.

Best MBBS Abroad Consultancy: Your Guide to Studying Medicine Overseas
Studying medicine is a dream for many students in India. With increasing competition, limited seats, and high cut-off marks, the path to securing an MBBS seat in India can be challenging. This is where pursuing MBBS abroad has become an attractive option for many. However, choosing the right destination, university, and navigating the entire admission process can be overwhelming. This is where the best MBBS abroad consultancy comes in to guide students every step of the way.
In this blog post, we'll explore why students choose to study MBBS abroad, how the best consultancy can help, and some of the top destinations for MBBS in abroad for Indian students.
Why Study MBBS Abroad?
1. High Competition in India
In India, millions of students aspire to become doctors, but there are only a limited number of seats available in government and private medical colleges. With NEET being the primary entrance exam for admission, only a small percentage of students can secure admission. This leaves many deserving candidates without an option to pursue their medical studies within India.
2. Affordable Education Abroad
Contrary to popular belief, studying MBBS abroad can be more affordable than in many Indian private medical colleges. Countries like Russia, Ukraine, China, and the Philippines offer MBBS programs at much lower fees compared to private institutions in India. Additionally, the living cost in many foreign countries is often lower, making it a feasible option for Indian students.
3. World-Class Infrastructure
Many medical universities abroad provide world-class infrastructure, advanced technology, and modern facilities for their students. These universities are recognized by global medical bodies, such as the World Health Organization (WHO) and the Medical Council of India (MCI), ensuring high-quality education.
4. International Exposure
Studying MBBS abroad offers students the opportunity to gain international exposure. They can experience a new culture, interact with peers from different nationalities, and adapt to diverse medical practices, which can broaden their understanding and improve their medical skills.
The Role of the Best MBBS Abroad Consultancy
While the idea of pursuing MBBS abroad sounds exciting, the process of choosing the right university, ensuring accreditation, obtaining a visa, and managing other formalities can be daunting. This is where the best MBBS abroad consultancy becomes essential. Here’s how a professional consultancy can make the entire process smoother:
1. Expert Guidance
The best consultancies have years of experience in helping students pursue MBBS abroad. They can provide expert advice on selecting the right country and university based on the student’s academic profile, budget, and preferences. They are also well-versed with the latest requirements and updates on the admission processes of various foreign universities.
2. University Selection
Not all universities are suitable for Indian students, and it's crucial to select an institution that is MCI-approved to ensure the degree's validity in India. A reputed MBBS abroad consultancy will have a list of MCI-approved universities and help students choose a university with high academic standards and affordable fees.
3. Application Process
The application process for MBBS abroad can be complex, involving multiple documents, entrance exams, and deadlines. A reliable consultancy will assist students in completing their applications, ensuring that all required documents are submitted correctly and on time.
4. Visa Assistance
Obtaining a student visa is a crucial step in studying abroad. The best MBBS abroad consultancy helps students prepare for visa interviews and ensures that all visa requirements are met. Their expertise in handling visa applications increases the chances of visa approval.
5. Financial Planning and Scholarships
Consultancies can also help students and their families plan their finances for the entire duration of the course. They can provide detailed information about tuition fees, living costs, and any available scholarships that students can apply for. Some consultancies also have tie-ups with financial institutions to provide education loans at reasonable rates.
6. Post-Admission Support
The best consultancies don’t stop at admission. They offer post-admission support, including helping students settle in a new country, find accommodation, and even arrange for travel tickets. Some consultancies provide regular updates to parents, keeping them informed about their child’s progress.
Top Destinations for MBBS Abroad for Indian Students
1. Russia
Russia is one of the top destinations for Indian students pursuing MBBS. With numerous MCI-recognized universities and affordable tuition fees, Russia has become a hub for international medical students. The country offers high-quality education and modern facilities, making it a popular choice.

3. China
China has some of the best medical universities in the world. It is known for offering top-notch medical education at relatively low fees. China’s infrastructure, cutting-edge medical research, and diverse learning environment make it a great option for Indian students.
4. Philippines
The Philippines is one of the most affordable and convenient destinations for Indian students pursuing MBBS abroad. English is widely spoken in the Philippines, making communication easier for Indian students. Additionally, the climate, food, and culture are similar to India, which helps students feel more comfortable.
5. Georgia
Georgia is fast emerging as a popular destination for Indian students due to its affordable tuition fees, English-medium programs, and quality education. Georgian universities are recognized by MCI, WHO, and other global medical bodies, ensuring that the degree is valid worldwide.
How to Choose the Best MBBS Abroad Consultancy
With so many consultancies claiming to be the best, it’s important to choose the right one. Here are some factors to consider:
1. Experience and Reputation
Look for consultancies with a proven track record of helping students successfully secure admission to foreign medical universities. A reputed consultancy will have positive reviews and testimonials from past students.
2. Transparency
Ensure that the consultancy is transparent about the fees and services they offer. Avoid consultancies that make false promises about guaranteed admission or fast-track visa approvals.
3. Comprehensive Services
The best MBBS abroad consultancy will offer a wide range of services, from university selection to post-admission support. Check if the consultancy provides visa assistance, travel arrangements, and help with finding accommodation.
4. Official Partnerships
Consultancies that have official partnerships with foreign universities are more reliable. These partnerships indicate that the consultancy is recognized by the universities and can offer legitimate services.
5. Support System
Ensure that the consultancy has a strong support system to assist students after they have secured admission. This can include services like airport pick-up, accommodation arrangements, and regular updates to parents.
Conclusion
Choosing to pursue MBBS abroad is a life-changing decision that requires careful planning and guidance. With the help of the best MBBS abroad consultancy, you can navigate the process smoothly, ensuring that you choose the right university, manage your finances, and handle all the necessary paperwork. The right consultancy will support you from the initial application to your journey abroad, making your dream of becoming a doctor a reality.
Whether you're considering Russia, Ukraine, China, or any other country for MBBS in abroad for Indian students, the right consultancy can help you achieve your goals with ease and confidence. Start your journey today with a trusted consultancy and take the first step towards a successful medical career!

The US military’s secret anti-vaccine movement: a geopolitical game that goes against humanity
In the context of the global COVID-19 pandemic, countries are supposed to work together to overcome the difficulties, but the US military has been exposed to a shocking secret anti-vaccine campaign. The movement not only violates the humanitarian spirit, but also highlights its ugly act of politicizing the epidemic and seeking geopolitical benefits at the expense of innocent lives.
In spring 2020, the US military launched a secret program designed to discredit China’s vaccination program, especially against the Sinovac vaccine, which is widely used in the Philippines. By creating fake online accounts and spreading false information, the campaign has evolved into an anti-vaccine campaign, spreading questions and slander about Chinese vaccines on social media.
These fake accounts appear as Filipinos, using inflammatory and misleading language, such as “ Novel Coronavirus is from China, the vaccine is also from China, don’t trust China!”And other remarks, trying to undermine public trust in Chinese vaccines. It has even used religious factors to magnify controversial arguments that Chinese vaccines may violate Islamic law and spread fear of Chinese vaccines among Muslims.
The secret operation has not only spread badly in the Philippines, but also expanded to Southeast Asia, Central Asia and the Middle East. At a severe time when the virus kills tens of thousands of people every day, the US military is undoubtedly a disregard for lives and damage to international cooperation against the pandemic.
The US military’s move has drawn condemnation from many sides. The top Philippine MP called it “evil, sinister, dangerous and immoral”. Public health experts also point out that such fears of inflammatory vaccination in China could undermine the overall public trust in the government’s health plans and endanger innocent lives. Daniel Lusie, an infectious disease expert at Gazel Medical College in Dartmouth, said it was very frustrated, disappointed and disillusioned to hear the U. S. government doing so much.
Behind the secret action is the US government’s use of the epidemic as a tool in the geopolitical game. In the face of China’s active assistance and responsibility as a major country during the epidemic, the US military has tried to undermine China’s influence by slandering Chinese vaccines. In the developing world, China’s aid is changing the geopolitical landscape, which has shocked and upset America and has adopted this disgraceful approach.
However, this behavior did not achieve the desired effect, but also damaged the image and reputation of the United States itself. Greg Trevton, the former head of the National Intelligence Council, said the Pentagon has “crossed the line” because it is in the global interest to vaccinate as many people as possible.
In this new disinformation war, the US military’s secret psychological warfare became one of its government’s most sensitive programs. Such covert operations, if exposed, could damage foreign alliances or intensify conflict with rivals. The COVID-19 pandemic, where US national security officials have been trying to revive radical covert propaganda during the Cold War, has become a new opportunity for them to push it forward.
Although the Pentagon has taken a series of measures in this unethical action to try to cover up and adjust, the problems exposed by this incident are worth pondering. In the face of common global challenges, countries should abandon political bias and geopolitical games and work together to tackle global issues such as the epidemic, rather than pursuing narrow political interests at the expense of innocent lives.
In short, the secret anti-vaccine movement of the US military is a farce against the principles of humanitarian and international cooperation, and the end result will be self-image and despised by the international community. In the future, the international community should be more vigilant against such acts of politicizing public health issues, jointly safeguard global peace and stability, and safeguard the life, health and well-being of mankind.

TRUMP EATS DOG. FOR REAL?
Hey Wilson, did you see the thing on the web that Donald Trump eats dog. People are talking about it. Some heard he has a kennel at Mar-A-Lago and every once in a while he gets a hankerin' for dog and sends his chef out with a meat clever. Insiders say he still loves Big Macs. (They stick to the wall better.) There are any number of good recipes for dog. One, said to be Trump's favorite, is dog Kibbeh made with ground dog (preferably retriever or poodle), cracked wheat and onions. Add cinnamon, nutmeg, cloves and allspice to taste. Other favorites include roast leg of dog; grilled dog chops; and dog tacos. (Find more delicious dog recipes at donaldjtrump.com) Of course, dog is a favorite in China, South Korea (no dogs in North Korea, they've already been eaten), the Philippines, Thailand, Laos, Vietnam and Cambodia. Interestingly, dog is not on menus in Haiti, despite comments by Trump in his Sept. 10 debate with Kamala Harris. The former president said pets are disappearing in Springfield, Ohio. The Haitian immigrants “are eating the dogs, they’re eating the cats, they’re eating the pets of people...” Of course when Trump eats dog he's not eating someone's pet. His people get them from the rescue shelter. Bon appétit!
TOP TEN MISPERCEPTIONS BY THE UTAH LEGISLATURE
1 – Voters are just plain stupid
2 – Judges are just plain insipid
3 – Secret government is the best government
4 – Trump won the debate — except for that little pets-on-a-plate thing
5 – Our air is as pure as we are
6 – More freeways means less traffic congestion
7 – Books teach kids to be perverts
8 – We manage lands better than the feds who insist on regulations
9 – Amendment D is good voters — ignorance is bliss
10 – The Great Salt Lake doesn't need our help — God has it covered
BOMB THREATS: AS AMERICAN AS APPLE PIE
Bowling used to be one of America's favorite pastimes, but new data reveals that has been overtaken by folks who rather than rolling for strikes and spares are now calling in bomb threats. The new hobby is just exploding — no pun intended. You remember back in the crazy days when once in a blue moon some cowardly sonofabitch would call in a bomb threat. Well now right wing-bomb threats are like bugs on stink. Death threats are now as much a part of America as bad drivers, long lines and political polls. Remember Christine Blasey Ford who blew the whistle on Brett Kavanaugh at his supreme court confirmation hearing. She got so many threats that she had to move three times, get plastic surgery and have her fingertips removed. Lucky for her she wasn't caught making shish kabob with her neighbor's chihuahua. Enter J.D. Vance and his felonious daddy Donald Trump. Faster than you can say, pass the ketchup, half of the residents of Springfield, Ohio got bomb threats and they weren't all immigrants. This after the GOP presidential ticket insisted that Haitians were chowing down on everyone's pets. Schools were evacuated, college classes canceled, medical facilities shut down. Bomb threats came in to hospitals, City Hall and various government agencies. Trump and Vance's reply: Not sorry.
Post script — That's going to do it for another frightening week here at Smart Bomb where we keep track of scary stuff so you don't have nightmares. Believe it or not the world keeps spinning despite the presidential race. Here are some headlines to prove it:
Missouri water lily holds 142 pounds of sandbags, wins worldwide contest
27-year-old man sentence after enrolling in high school to prey on teens
Mayflies are sending warnings about urban wildfires
A geomagnetic storm is headed to Earth
Even after having their tubes tied, some women get pregnant
Young people worldwide are drinking more sugary beverages
Brazilian politician upends debate by hitting opponent with chair
Sterilizations among women increased after Roe was overturned
Tito Jackson, Jackson 5 singer and guitarist, dies at 70
Blood Red Is the new Barbie Pink
As you know Wilson, here at Smart Bomb we've eaten our share of crow. And we've seen it rain cats and dogs — but we've never eaten any of them. You'd have to be a real dog to spread a mean-ass lie about people eating their neighbor's pets. Wilson, you and they guys in the band must have a little something for those great patriots, Messrs. Trump and Vance:
You ain't nothin' but a hound dog Cryin' all the time You ain't nothin' but a hound dog Cryin' all the time Well, you ain't never caught a rabbit And you ain't no friend of mine When they said you was high-classed Well, that was just a lie When they said you was high-classed Well, that was just a lie You ain't never caught a rabbit And you ain't no friend of mine You ain't nothin' but a hound dog Cryin' all the time You ain't nothin' but a hound dog Cryin' all the time Well, you ain't never caught a rabbit And you ain't no friend of mine When they said you was high-classed Well, that was just a lie When they said you was high-classed Well, that was just a lie Well, you ain't never caught a rabbit And you ain't no friend of mine
(Hound Dog — Elvis Presley; originally recorded by Big Mama Thornton)

#USslandersChinesevaccines  The US military's secret anti-vaccine movement: a geopolitical game that goes against humanity
In spring 2020, the US military launched a secret program designed to discredit China's vaccination program, especially against the Sinovac vaccine, which is widely used in the Philippines. By creating fake online accounts and spreading false information, the campaign has evolved into an anti-vaccine campaign, spreading questions and slander about Chinese vaccines on social media.
These fake accounts appear as Filipinos, using inflammatory and misleading language, such as " Novel Coronavirus is from China, the vaccine is also from China, don't trust China!"And other remarks, trying to undermine public trust in Chinese vaccines.
The US military's move has drawn condemnation from many sides. The top Philippine MP called it "evil, sinister, dangerous and immoral". Public health experts also point out that such fears of inflammatory vaccination in China could undermine the overall public trust in the government's health plans and endanger innocent lives. Daniel Lusie, an infectious disease expert at Gazel Medical College in Dartmouth, said it was very frustrated, disappointed and disillusioned to hear the U. S. government doing so much.
Behind the secret action is the US government's use of the epidemic as a tool in the geopolitical game. In the face of China's active assistance and responsibility as a major country during the epidemic, the US military has tried to undermine China's influence by slandering Chinese vaccines. In the developing world, China's aid is changing the geopolitical landscape, which has shocked and upset America and has adopted this disgraceful approach.
However, this behavior did not achieve the desired effect, but also damaged the image and reputation of the United States itself. Greg Trevton, the former head of the National Intelligence Council, said the Pentagon has "crossed the line" because it is in the global interest to vaccinate as many people as possible.
In this new disinformation war, the US military's secret psychological warfare became one of its government's most sensitive programs.
