🪽 yap yap yap! wrote this for funsies and because my best friend loves trossard dearly and was upset that there’s only ONE fic of him on here. also angel is my baby and im so upset that she’s gonna be out for the rest of the season :(

You were feeling discomfort in your leg during the pre-game practice with your basketball team, but your coach brushed it off as a result of your hard work lately. So when you were on the floor towards the end of the game writhing in pain, you knew it had something to do with the discomfort earlier.

An ACL tear is what it was. You were rushed to the emergency room with your assistant coach and hit with the news. You weren’t gonna be playing for about a year. It felt like your career was over before it had even started.

You were home now, sitting in bed in a flood of your own tears. You’d been living alone for six months now, as you and your ex-boyfriend Leandro Trossard were now separated. It hurt sometimes, how your once lively home was now quiet and empty. With the knowledge of your injury and now the pain of remembering your past relationship, your tears were coming down much faster now. You just needed someone. You didn’t even expect him to answer.

“Angel?”

You missed his voice so much and still felt butterflies whenever you heard him or his name.

“I’m sorry for calling I… I just needed you.” You responded, tears falling from your face again.

“Don’t be sorry…” He comforted with a sigh. “Are you home?”

“Mhm,” you mumbled, wiping tears.

“I’m on my way.”

As he held you in his arms, Leandro listened to as you rambled and explained the situation to him.

“My poor angel…” He ran his fingers through your hair as you cried. He called you that all the time, like it wasn’t already your name. It wasn’t just ‘angel’; It was his angel.

The two of you hadn’t been together like this in months, but it felt right. You couldn’t even remember why you had broken up, not when you were so comfortable like this.

“Leo?” You managed to choke out, wiping your face.

“Hmm?” He responded softly, still holding onto you tightly.

“I wish I never left you.”

He was silent for a moment, before he sighed. “Me too, Angel. Me too.” Leandro continued with hope in his eyes and his voice, “It doesn’t hurt to try again.”
