Set in the same theme as this
A little side note: Touya, from my research, means 'arrow of light' so I wanted his son's name to have a similar theme so Tadaaki means 'bright light'.
Tumblr media
Daddy!Dabi, sorry Touya, who keeps having random toys delivered to your house. You're sure the driver knows your name by now since you're getting a parcel every day and to make it worse the little demon child seems more interest in the box and wrapping paper than the actual gift inside the damn thing.
"Tadaaki, I swear to God."
You sat on the floor next to him as he tried to ingest yet another piece of paper from the floor, wrestling the small sodden pieces from his hand and replaced it with his dummy even as he screwed up his face in frustration.
"Just let him eat it."
Shaking your head in exasperation, you turned to the window and glared at Touya. The grin on his face as he crouched on the window ledge made you even more frustrated so you threw some paper at his stupid head.
"Very helpful, thank you."
A snort as he jumped down, the thud as his boots hit the floor before he quickly removed them and replaced them with the slippers you chose for him. They were huge Smurf feet, something you would tease him with when you were together, and when you saw them in the local shop you just had to get them.
A loud squeal as Tadaaki stood up and toddled over to his dad, Touya was still a little hesitant as the little hands held on his larger ones. You could see the gloves he was wearing, something you noticed after you met in the park and assumed it was to protect Tadaaki from the staples. A louder squeal this time as Touya hefted him up in the air, the dummy landing on the floor as your son flew up in the air.
"You know, he just ate. If he-"
"Oh shit!"
"-pukes it'll be your own fault."
You couldn't help but laugh out loud this time, your son looking awfully chuffed with himself as his dad looked like he was about to throw up himself. Holding Tadaaki at arms length, his face turned away as he thrust him out to you and pulled the jacket and t-shirt he was wearing off and wiping himself down with some baby wipes while mock glaring at you.
"You can stop laughing, brat. I learnt my lesson."

TWIN SIZED MATTRESS
a part two of where love lives because i am such a sucker for rei getting those kids the hell out of that house and the todoroki fam being normies
Tumblr media
You would almost be drifting off to sleep—if it wasn't for the dead weight of Shouto’s  limbs on your lap and the irritating buzzing of Touya’s whines in your ear.
“He’s out cold.”
Touya gestures to the blob of red and white hair sprawled out by your side. After one episode of his cartoon and a few head scratches from your hand, Shouto was out like a light.
It’s been about thirty minutes since then, and the low mumble of the cartoon still humming across the dim living room speaker is driving Touya up a wall.
“If you’re not gonna let us go upstairs, at least let me change the fuckin’ channel,” he mumbles behind a scowl.
You roll your eyes but gently toss him the remote regardless. He hums at his victory, catching it easily and flying through countless channels, eventually landing on some poorly produced scary movie from the early 2000s—and if it wasn't for his youngest brother wedged in between the two of you like a cushion, he’d be using the film as an excuse to cling onto you.
It's not long before the sound of a key in the lock softly rattles the front door, and a few seconds later, Rei enters quietly, almost like she's not trying to make a single sound. But when she sees two (and a half) silhouettes on the couch, she tosses her keys on the counter with a bit less caution.
“What a pleasant surprise this is,” her voice is teasing, but it’s all in good fun. She’s a soft woman, in her speech and touch—and the way Touya’s eyes glass over when they’re on her.
He barely lets his gaze stray from the film to flicker her way when he mumbles half-hearted a “hey, Ma.” You decide to be the adult in the situation and properly greet the woman of the house.
Slowly and carefully removing Shouto’s limp limbs from your lap, you manage to slide out from beneath his weight and stand up.
“Shouto didn’t feel well, so we gave him some medicine and let him lay with us for a bit,” you gesture to the sofa where he still snores while your boyfriend watches the movie and scoots away from the drool now pooling on the cushion beside him.
“How sweet you two are,” she breathes, simultaneously thanking you while cheap-shotting Touya, knowing this had to be all your doing.
Because it doesn’t take a genius to know that while he means well enough, there’s no way in hell it was Touya’s idea to cuddle up with his brother on a Friday night.
“Are you staying the night?” she innocently asks, her gaze flickering to the stove clock and seeing it’s well past midnight.
You make a mental note to kill Touya later for not telling his mother of your attendence. Politely, you decide to tread lightly, “If it's alright with you, please.”
At the same time, Touya mumbles something from his spot on the couch about it being too dark out now for you to be driving anyways.
“Of course,” she shrugs her jacket off, laying it on the back of a chair while getting herself a glass of water, “take Touya’s room, he’s fine on the couch.”
At that, your disinterested boyfriend is suddenly extremely intruiged with this conversation.
“No,” he nearly chokes on his own disbelief, “I’m not okay on the couch.”
“Don’t listen to him, take the bed,” Rei continues, completely ignoring her eldest son practically throwing a fit as he finally stands and scurries over to the two of you.
“We’re adults,” he heaves, though his whiny tone betrays his claim, “I think it’s safe to say we can sleep in the same bed, Ma.”
Rei deadpans as blunt as ever, looking her eldest dead in the eye without a shred of shame or subtly when she sighs.
“I’m too young to be a grandmother, Touya.”
You feel your skin grow hot, and you don’t miss the way Touya’s neck flushes also red as he curses under his breath.
“The hell is wrong with you?” he rubs his eyes in irritation. “As if we’d ever try anything with all of you fuckin’ people here.”
You bite your tongue at the lie that webs through his teeth. As if that wasn't what you were doing in the first place when Shouto decided it was a convenient time to have a stomach ache.
With a silent wave of her hand, Rei seems to send Touya up to his room to both get it ready for you and grab whatever he needs for the couch. He does so wordlessly, but can’t help the dramatic sigh and heavy footsteps up the stairs along the way.
When Rei sees your nose crinkle at his theatrical antics, she shakes her head and reassures you.
“He’ll be fine.”
She offers you a glass of water, and the two of you sit in comfortable silence for a few moments.
It’s nice. For a house that's always breathing with hectic excitement, it’s refreshing to take in its small noises. The sound of the floorboards creaking beneath Touya’s footsteps above, the ice maker grinding and chiseling every few moments, the ceiling fan whirling against the metal of its own chain.
After a moment, Rei speaks up—and when you catch her eye, she’s admiring you with a different kind of softness you’ve yet to see on her.
“We love having you here,” she delicately insists, before quietly adding, “all of us.”
Her comment warms you from the inside out. Like a fire in your chest, the genuity of her words spreads all throughout your veins and into each crevice of your body. It feels like home has eaten you alive.
“I love being here,” you manage to whisper after a moment, “thanks for always having me.”
She returns easily, “Thank you for taking care of my baby.”
Your head turns to where the tiniest Todoroki quietly snores on the couch, “It’s no big deal, Shouto’s always great.”
“I wasn’t talking about Shouto,” Rei doesn't miss a beat, gently resting a loving hand on your shoulder.
Touya calls your name from upstairs, seemingly to let you know that his room is ready for you. You shoot Rei a smile that you hope does even a sliver of the happiness you're feeling justice before crawling upstairs.
Annoyance clear on his face, he points to his messily prepared bed with a mock kindness, “Your grace.”
You roll your eyes at his dramatics but accept the bed nonetheless. One you’ve been in more times than you can count, but never without him, Touya’s bed is comfortable in all of the right places. The comforter isn’t too heavy for the summer heat, and his sheets smell like the perfect balance of his cologne and lingering cigarette smoke.
You half expect Touya to give you a proper goodnight, but you should’ve known better, because instead of coming over to kiss you, he sulks to the doorway before whispering, “The second she’s asleep, I’m coming up.”
You do your best to sound strict behind your inching smile. “No, you’re not.”
Touya merely shrugs before gently closing the door, his pillow in his hand and a flickering look in his eye.
He keeps his word because precisely eight minutes after you hear Rei gently creep upstairs and close her bedroom door, another one opens and Touya’s lanky frame scurries in.
“Get out,” you half-heartedly threaten through a sleepy rasp.
His movements don't hesitate in the slightest. He continues to close the door slowly, securing it and creeping to his bed on his lightest steps.
“This is my room,” he humbly reminds you.
“You’re gonna get us in trouble,” you attempt to reason with the unreasonable.
“Please,” he scoffs, shimmying himself beneath the covers and onto his flattened pillow, “she knew this was gonna happen the moment she sentenced me to that fuckin’ couch.”
Touya moves to spoon you, placing his hand on your stomach before you tense up and turn around to face him directly.
“We are not having sex,” you harshly remind him in a whisper.
You can practically see his stupid smirk when he replies, “Didn’t realize I was dating a nympho.”
He hears you kiss your teeth in annoyance, but when you move away from his hands, he shushes your complaints and halts your movements with a tightening grip.
“Hey, stop,” he whines, letting you turn around but forcing his way to nuzzle into the back of your neck.
“Just wanna lay with you,” he whispers into your back before gently nipping the skin and adding a sweet, “you gremlin.”
You gently scoff at that and settle beneath his touch, and the world almost feels like it stops spinning as the two of you cram into a twin size mattress Touya’s had since he was about eleven years old.
“Thanks,” his voice quietly cuts through the silence of his bedroom, barely louder than the cicadas that chirp outside as he continues, “for helping the little asshole tonight. Pretty sure he was faking it, though.”
He feels you laugh through a huff of your nose, “Doesn’t matter, I was happy to be here.”
Touya softly gnashes his ankles against yours when interlocking your legs together. You feel a tiny kiss on your exposed shoulder when he groggily speaks above the sound of the air conditioner.
“Think we were all happy for that.”

"You're still burning up, but it's less than yesterday," you sigh heavily, hand pressed to the man's forehead as he huffs and brushes away your arm.
"I run hot; it's nothing," Dabi dismisses, sweat making his dark hair stick to his skin, his shirt and pants long since discarded in an attempt to keep cool. "Besides, I'm fucking shivering. I'm not worried about overheating," he mumbles, and you shake your head at him, already planning on getting another blanket from the living room.
"Shivering is part of the fever, Dabi. You know that. You probably didn't do yourself any favors by taking that hot bath last night," you scold gently. He huffs again but doesn't argue further, pretty blue eyes fluttering shut.
You'd never admit it, but you were glad he was here like this. You'd known he wasn't himself when he'd shown up unannounced two days ago. He'd been fidgety and clearly exhausted as he curled up around you, but it wasn't until you woke up to the man draped over you, drenched in sweat and hotter than any human should be, that you realized how sick he was.
He'd protested when you'd woke him up in a panic, insisting he needed to let you get him medicine, insisted that he was fine. That is until his legs gave out at the doorway of your bedroom, and he'd dropped to his knees and admitted maybe he should stay.
Since then, it had been a cycle of medicines, showers, sleep, and food. If it had been up to Dabi, he'd have just slept the entire time, insisting he could handle his fever, even when he started to worry you.
The second night had been the hardest, when his body had started to reject anything he'd put in it, and you'd both spent the night hours sleeping in the bathroom- him in a nest of blankets on the floor and you in the bathtub. You'd been awake more than he had that night, ensuring he was still breathing and his temperature hadn't risen every few hours.
He'd started to refuse food, and it had taken everything in you not to sit on him and shove it down his throat, choosing to bargain with the sick man instead. Eventually, he'd accept saltines and nothing else, which had been enough for you.
You could remember clearly when the delirium had set in that night. Those tired blue eyes trained on you as he sat against the bathroom wall, sweat dripping down his face as he pressed a blanket further around himself.
"You're beautiful," he'd murmured sleepily, and you dragged your weary gaze to his. "I mean it. Can't believe you let me stay here. Let alone fuck your brains out regularly. Could be bagging pro-heroes with that face."
You'd just rolled your eyes and ignored his rambling for the next forty minutes until sleep thinned your patience, and you leaned over the edge of the tub to press a finger against his mouth, effectively shutting him up so the both of you could sleep.
"Hey. Don't look so worried." Dabi's voice drew you back to the present, where you stood with a bottle of ibuprofen, meaning to check when he could take another dose. "I'm not dying more than usual."
You glared at him at his words, and he shot you a knowing grin. "Glad you feel good enough to make those kinds of jokes," you muttered, setting the bottle back down on the table next to your bed. "Think you're up for a shower while I make you soup?" you pressed, and he paused for a moment before giving a slight nod, groaning as he sat up.
"You just love to get me naked," he taunted, shooting you a grin- although it showed just how tired he was, it still made your heart flutter. You paused in the doorway to turn and give him a sweet smile as you spoke.
"Dabi, baby, with all due respect, you stink," you informed him with a wrinkle of your nose, laughing softly when he flipped you off in response.
The past few days had been a blur of microwaved meals and crackers, and it suddenly dawned on you just how little you'd actually eaten. You hesitated as you looked through your fridge for something quick, your gaze landing on the chicken you'd meant to eat two nights ago. You sighed, pulling out the Tupperware container to throw it out as you pushed aside condiments to find other food that would soon spoil.
You straightened suddenly as you pushed aside onions, hot sauce, and soy sauce, reminded of a soup recipe from your childhood. Mentally you ran through the ingredients, checking them off as you found them in your fridge and cupboards, gathering them onto your counter.
Biting your lip, you glanced at the time, warring with yourself on whether you would be able to make it before Dabi inevitably reappeared. Your decision was made when you thought about all the money you'd be wasting if you didn't use some of your produce in your fridge soon.
You got to work quickly, chopping vegetables as you let water and broth boil on the stove, adding herbs and sauces. You lost track of time as you cooked, humming quietly to yourself, and jumped when a pair of warm hands landed on your hips.
"Sorry I took so long. What're you doing?" Dabi rasped quizzically, water dripping from his hair onto his shirt as he released you, puzzled when he watched you turn off the stove and grab a bowl.
"I made soup," you shrugged, watching from the corner of your eye when he peered into the pot, eyes widening.
"You made this?" he repeated, watching as you filled a bowl and handed it to him. He eyed the bowl suspiciously, and you stifled a laugh, giving him a spoon and gently pushing him to your small dining room table.
"It's not a big deal, Dabi. I had the ingredients and figured we both could use a break from canned soup and microwaved meals," you joked, grabbing yourself a bowl.
He said nothing, and you watched nervously as he stirred his spoon around the bowl for a moment before hesitantly taking a bite. His eyes widened as he groaned, mumbling under his breath.
"Holy fuck," he dug in quickly, and you smiled softly, shaking your head as you ate in the kitchen, cleaning your mess as you went. You gave him a gentle smile when he returned to the kitchen with an empty bowl, sheepishly gesturing to the pot.
You nodded, returning to cleaning as he poured himself a second helping, hiding your smile. It wasn't often you could surprise Dabi, even less often that he was so at ease, and you couldn't help the way it made you feel when it happened. He paused before he left, tugging you in by your hip so he could press a lingering kiss against your forehead before releasing you and returning to his spot.
Minutes passed as you finished wiping down the counter, and Dabi spoke up quietly, halfway through his second bowl. "You didn't need to put in so much work for me."
You laughed softly, wiping your hands on a towel before you turned to speak to him, walking around to his side of the table.
"I just figured it had been a while since someone made you a home-cooked meal," you murmured quietly, bending down to press your lips to his forehead. The action was intended to allow you to discreetly feel his temperature, but all you could feel was how he stiffened at your words.
A heavy silence suddenly settled between the two of you, and you pulled back quickly as he sat silently. You can tell you messed up, revealed too much, and struck a nerve all at once.
You move back to the sink, busying yourself with cleaning the dishes as you sneak a couple glances at him. He's staring down at the bowl, shoulders tight and his gaze unreadable, stormy as he thinks.
You want nothing more than to apologize for your careless words, to smooth away the angry wrinkle between his brows, but you don't. It wouldn't help. You'd learned early on that there were things you couldn't fix.
You're all too aware that loving Dabi sometimes means letting him hurt.
Not that you'd never tell him that's what you felt for him.
Love.
A stupid, four-letter word that had enough power to send him far from your arms if you slipped up and said it.
Because for Touya, love was the worst mistake of all. It meant he had to reveal the softest, most breakable parts of himself. It meant he had to care about something in his life that wasn't just revenge. And that simply wasn't something he was interested in, despite all the nights spent in your arms, in your bed.
You shake yourself, realizing you'd been scrubbing the same spoon for a ridiculously long time, and sigh, dropping your head for a moment. You look back at Dabi to see him watching you, his expression guarded as he takes another bite.
"I'm gonna head to bed," you murmured, ignoring the surprised look he shoots you.
You can't bring yourself to look at him, brushing past him instead to hurry down the hallway to your bedroom. Guilt and hurt gnawed at you as you changed into pajamas, and you hesitated before slipping his old T-shirt over your head. At this point, you wouldn't be surprised if he was gone before you woke up. At the very least, you'd get to keep a piece of him this time.
You ignore him when he comes into your room, eyeing you cautiously as you give him space. So you're surprised when he crowds you in the bathroom as you're drying your face, hands winding around your waist as he hooks a chin over your shoulder.
"You look good in my shirt," he rumbled, eyes avoiding yours when you looked at him in the mirror's reflection. His hands slip under your shirt to spread over your stomach, his pinky brushing along the underside of your breast, and you can't help the way you lean into it, sighing softly. He presses a kiss behind your ear, and then another one lower, and another, trailing a path down your neck.
"Dabi, baby, wait," you protest weakly, eyes squeezed shut as you try to focus with the way his lips latch onto the sweet spot on your throat, sucking a dark bruise onto it.
"Wanna thank you properly," he dismisses, spinning you around to face him. He doesn't give you a second to think before his hands grip the back of your thighs and lift you to wrap around his hips.
His lips are back on your skin as he walks, but you don't miss how he's breathing harder than usual or how his hands are shaking after he sets you down on the bed.
His movements are rushed as he settles between your legs, and it's only when he sits back to grip the waistband of your pajama shorts that you get a clear look at his face.
"Dabi, stop." you rush, hands grabbing his wrists as he freezes, pain-filled eyes rushing to meet yours. "I'm not fucking you. Not while you're clearly still sick," you soothe, expecting relief to flood the man's face.
"I don't understand," his tone is suddenly cold and detached as he sits back on his heels, hands curled into fists against his thighs.
You struggle to sit up at his words, your brows drawn down in confusion. "Don't understand what?" you press, reaching for his hand. He shifts out of your reach subtly, but his message is clear, sending a pang of hurt through you that you try to swallow down.
"In the kitchen, I thought you were upset because I didn't thank you right. I thought-" Dabi clamps his mouth shut suddenly as he turns his gaze away from you, jaw set.
You search his face for a moment, trying to connect the dots before it clicks. "Oh."
You don't mean for it to come out the way it does, and you can see his jaw tighten again as he begins to move away, and you shoot forward, hand curling around his wrist to stop him. If you let him go now, there's no telling when he'd return.
"Touya," You murmur softly. There's a reason you hardly use his birth name despite being given permission to, and you're reminded of that when he flinches at the sound falling from your lips.
"I didn't mean to sound so judgemental," your fingers slip up over his skin until you're cupping his cheek, forcing him to look at you as you speak. His gaze is clouded, eyes puffy from lack of sleep, and you can see weariness eating away at him now more than ever.
His expression doesn't shift, and it's as if he's looking right through you. You're firmer this time when you call his name, both hands cupping his face and forcing him to look at you.
"I'm not taking care of you because I expect you to crawl into my bed as thanks. I'm not taking care of you because I think you'll owe me after. I'm taking care of you because you eventually have to let someone do it, and I... I care," you admit quietly.
Because I love you and just want you to know that.
You don't say those words out loud, no matter how badly your heart is screaming at you. You ignore it as you brush a damp strand of hair from his forehead, his gaze softer now, relieved.
"I'm sorry," he begins to murmur, but you shush him, giving a slight shake of your head.
"No need to apologize. Just... don't forget that I'm here for you, okay? Not what you could do for me," You bite your lip, afraid that you're getting too close as you drop your gaze and hands from his face.
He hums in response, tilting your gaze back to his, and for the first time in a while, when you look at him, all you see is openness. No walls to break down, no hurt and fury vying for his attention. And for a split second, you wonder if he's as much in love as you are.
"Can I kiss you?" he rasps, and you nod, uncaring at this moment if he gets you sick. You just want to feel him. He leans in easily, his lips barely brushing over yours as he speaks, almost too low to hear him when he speaks. "Don't want to lose you,"
You want to pull away, want to ask him what he means, not even sure if you heard him correctly, but then he's slotting his mouth over yours in a kiss that steals all the air from your lungs.
Most of Dabi's kisses leave you breathless, but this one is different. There's more meaning behind it than the man in front of you can say, but it's as if he's trying his best to show you. A hand cups the back of your neck to guide you until your head hits the pillows again, his lips never leaving yours. His hands slide down your arms before entwining his fingers with yours and pulling them against his chest, right above where his heart is pounding.
He's gentle as he flattens your palm over the spot, nose bumping yours when he pulls away with a shaky breath, pressing feather-soft kisses over your cheeks and eyes before he sits up. He keeps your hand over his heart for a moment longer before lifting it to press one last lingering kiss to the inside of your wrist.
His blue eyes never waver from your face as he moves, and part of you wants to look away, to run from the intensity of his gaze, but you don't. He gives you one last soft kiss before he swings a leg off the bed, groaning as he stands.
"I'm going to go shower again; feel free to get some rest, doll," he invites, and you sit up as you watch him gather clothes to sleep in.
"No hot water, right? Just warm?" you remind him, and he laughs softly, coming around to your side of the bed again to press a kiss to the top of your head.
"Got it, doc. Get some sleep. I'll be back soon," he soothes. You watch him go, listening to the shower turn on a moment later.
You're already half-asleep when he returns, but you turn into his arms when he slides under the covers beside you, your head nestled under his chin.
He sighs deeply, and your breathing falls into sync with his as sleep begins to claim you, surrounded by his warmth and scent, partially masked by the smell of your shampoo.
You almost miss his words, whispered to what he assumed was just himself in the darkness.
"How the hell am I supposed to stop loving you?"

Villain's Princess || MHA
Tumblr media
Pairing: Dabi x Villain!Reader
Synopsis: Dabi is really set on calling you princess. It seems he does this to annoy you, but does he really?
Words: 1.1k
Tumblr media
As you walked through the League of Villains' hideout, the smell of cigarette smoke and burning embers filled your nostrils. The dimly lit corridors were lined with old, rusty pipes and grime-covered walls that seemed to ooze danger. The sound of footsteps echoed off the walls, and you knew that you were not alone in this labyrinthine hideout.
Approaching the common area, you heard a familiar voice call out to you. "Hey, princess!" Dabi shouted from behind, his voice slicing through the tension like a hot knife through butter. You turned to face him and saw his wicked grin spread across his face, sending shivers down your spine.
Dabi's bright blue flames flickered from his fingertips as he leaned against the wall, looking at you with a mischievous glint in his eyes. "What are you up to?" he asked, tilting his head slightly.
You rolled your eyes, annoyed at his use of the nickname "princess" that he had taken to calling you lately. It was driving you crazy, and you knew he was doing it just to get under your skin. But you couldn't deny that it gave you butterflies in your stomach whenever he said it.
"I'm just trying to get some work done, Dabi," you replied, trying to sound casual.
Dabi chuckled, and the sound echoed through the empty corridors. "Relax, princess. I'm just messing with you. You know I love seeing that look on your face."
You couldn't help but smile a little at his teasing. Despite his abrasive personality, there was something about Dabi that drew you to him. Maybe it was his confidence, or the way he always seemed to know exactly what he wanted.
As you continued with your work, Dabi hung around, making idle conversation, and occasionally calling you "princess" just to watch you squirm. But as the day wore on, you began to notice something different about the way he said it. There was a possessiveness in his voice that you hadn't heard before, a hint of something deeper than just playful teasing.
You tried not to read too much into it, knowing that Dabi was the last person who would ever admit feeling anything else than hatred and annoyance. But the more he called you "princess," the more you found yourself enjoying his tone and facial expressions concomitantly to his words. It became a secret code between the two of you, a way to show your mutual affection without having to say it outright, even though neither of you actually admitted to it.
Days turned into weeks, and weeks turned into months. Dabi continued to call you "princess," and you continued to let him, secretly loving the way it made you feel. But it wasn't until a particularly intense battle with the heroes that you realized just how much Dabi truly cared about you.
As you fought together, you couldn't help but notice the way that Dabi's muscles rippled beneath his shirt, his movements fluid and graceful as he took down his opponents with ease. Despite the chaos around you, there was a sense of calm that settled over you when you were near him.
And then, in the heat of battle, Dabi turned to you with a look of fierce determination. "Get behind me, princess! I'll protect you!" His voice was like thunder, ringing in your ears, and you felt a shiver run down your spine at the intensity of his words.
In that moment, you realized just how much you had come to rely on Dabi, not just as a comrade in arms, but as something more. There was a bond between you that went beyond mere friendship or even attraction. It was something deeper, something that you couldn't quite put into words.
As you moved to stand behind him, you felt a surge of emotion rise up within you. Here was a man who was willing to lay down his life for yours, who saw you as something precious and worth protecting. It was a feeling that you had never experienced before, and it both thrilled and terrified you.
For the rest of the battle, you watched in awe as Dabi fought with a ferocity that bordered on madness. His eyes blazed with a passion that was both terrifying and exhilarating, and you couldn't help but feel a surge of pride at being the one he was fighting for.
And when the battle was finally over, you found yourself drawn to Dabi like a moth to a flame. As you stood there, breathing heavily and covered in sweat, he turned to you with a small, almost shy smile.
You were taken aback by the sudden display of protectiveness, but you couldn't deny the thrill it gave you to hear him call you "princess" in such a serious tone. You knew that he would do anything to keep you safe, and that thought filled you with a warmth that you couldn't quite describe.
As you caught your breath after the intense battle, you noticed Dabi looking at you intently, his eyes softening as he approached you. His usual smirk was replaced with a more serious expression, and you couldn't help but feel a flutter in your chest at the sight of him.
Dabi gently took your arm and with his body, he covered the chaos of the battle from your sight. He turned to face you, his eyes piercing into yours, and you couldn't help but feel a warmth spreading through your body at his touch.
He spoke softly, his voice laced with more tenderness than usual. That really surprised you.
"I won’t let anything that’s mine get hurt, alright princess? So rest assured." He carefully lifted your chin and came closer to you, making you feel his hot breath against your skin. His words were simple, yet they held a depth of emotion that you had never heard from him before.
You looked up at him, a mixture of surprise and gratitude on your face. It was as if he was claiming you as his own, and it made you feel both exhilarated and nervous. You had always known that Dabi was fiercely independent and unpredictable but hearing him express his protectiveness over you was a revelation.
Despite his gruff exterior, you could tell that Dabi cared deeply for you, and his words were a confirmation of those feelings. As you gazed into his eyes, you felt a wave of emotion wash over you, and you knew that you had found someone special.
From that day forward, you wore the title of "princess" with pride, knowing that it was a way for Dabi to show the world that you were his. The term had transformed from a teasing nickname to a symbol of his affection and protectiveness over you, and you cherished it more than any other title or honorific.

~Exploring abandoned house with Dabi~
DABI FANS PSPSPSPSPSPS
(Can be seen as both platonic and romantic)
This is my first ever fic actually the more I think about it, I usually write headcanons and something short.
Trigger Warning: cussing and smoking. 😢😖😖😭 (pants=shat, knees=trembling)
I actually shifted two years ago to him and we actually went in abandoned house so this is inspired by that shitting shifting experience. I had to write this so I don't forget about it since it's such a cool idea.
You = • Dabi= •
Genre: crack, fluff
~If there's grammar mistakes, suddenly you are blind and see nothing I wrote this half asleep/half awake~
Number of words: idfk, a lot 🤡???
I put my whole Maxussy and writeussy into this
~ e n j o y ~
Tumblr media
You and Dabi were hanging out late at night, walking around streets chatting about random shit and just enjoying eachothers company, than a bit later y'all left town continuing to just wander around as you two suddenly passed by some abandoned house.
"Oooo look, abandoned house" you said pointing at house
"What, you want to explore it?" He looked at you with smirk as he teased you a little. "You wanna go for a ghost haunt or something?"
"Oh shut the hell up, but yeah I want to explore it, maybe it can be our new hang out spot?" You looked back at him raising eyebrows and grinning
"Don't tell me you want to hang out in this old crap that's falling apart more than I am." (I literally made my own self laugh)
Tumblr media
You snorted in response "C'mon I just wanna sit somewhere, my ass and legs hurts from all the walking and we're far away from town. I just can't help it, this shit looks like vibe and perfect place for smoking"
"Alright, alright, but you are giving me some of your ciggs because you are forcing me to go inside of this old crap"
"Fair enough"
He crossed arms proudly and grinned while you two walked up closer to house
"You go first" He said giving you smug look on his face
"What, you are too scared?" You returned him smug expression as you teased him than opened door of abandoned house for him "Ladies first"
He rolled his eyes in response and smirked as he spoke in "female voice" or at least he tried but his voice cracked, he sounded pretty stupid
"My, my thank you, you are such a gentleman"
You both laughed as he entered first and you went in after him.
Tumblr media
"Damn, it smells like shit here.." He commented making disgusted expression while he looked around house
"Just like you" You grinned and winked at him
Dabi gasped dramatically and sarcastically than laughed silently in response and looked at you "Asshole"
You two were walking in hallways inside abandoned house, exploring it a little, deciding you'll explore upstairs later
"Careful not to run into hobo" You said as you leaned on wall and took out of your pocket pack of cigarettes "Pspspspspsps come here lighter"
"Did you just called me a lighter and pspsps at me?"
"Yah, I forgot my lighter, now come here lighter, if you want a ciggy wiggy."
He rolled his eyes again and smirked as he put in his mouth one of your cigarettes, you got closer to eachother so that he can light both of cigarettes at same time with one of his fingers
"I'll put that as your name in my contacts"
"You are creative with nicknames I gotta admit." Dabi grinned and laughed a bit as you both smoked and just wandered around inside house kicking some random stuff at eachother like you played football with literal lamp until y'all ran into basement's door.
"There's basement too? Damn" He looked at door than turned back to look at you with shit-eating grin "Shall we?"
"Fuck yeah" You said returning him same look on your face as you both laughed quietly, walking up to basement's door and opening it.
Right when you both walked in, the door closed by itself loudly hmmm classic and you two stood on stairs in darkness.
"Ah, of course it closed" You laughed a little and snorted "Always basements"
He snorted too in response but that little laughs of yours stopped when you couldn't open the door
"Fuck.."
"...fuck" you two stood in silence awkwardly for a moment than snorted again because y'all are careless motherfuckers "I can't see shit"
"Wait" He said than used his quirk for some light "Alright, there we go"
"So we going down?" You said looking at him grinning as you spoke in sarcastic tone "Maybe there's some ghosts" it wouldn't hurt to stay here more for a while and explore right? Unlocking that crusty door can wait.
"Maybe monsters?" He said sarcastically as y'all continued to snort at eachothers words than decided to go downstairs in basement giggling like idiots, this whole situation was just so stupid which makes it all funny.
Tumblr media
The basement was pretty empty and dusty as expected. You two were a little disappointed because there was not much stuff, actually there was barely anything at all.
Tumblr media
You two looked at eachother slowly than looked at chair, and than looked at eachother again as y'all stood still for a while than grinned.
"My chair"
"Whoever sits down first, the chair is theirs"
After that you two were running towards chair laughing like maniacs, sure it was childish but it was fun so who cares
Dabi first sat on the chair as he bursted into laughter with you, than you grinned at him and kicked the leg of old wooden chair which caused it to break easily since it's pretty old and Dabi fell on his ass laughing even louder with you and glaring a little.
"WHAT THE HELL WAS THAT FOR?!" He yelled as he continued to laugh and after both of you calmed down a little, while you helped him up. "I'll remember that and get my revenge"
"If I can't have a chair no one will"
"You little shit"
"Shut up you burnt fuck"
"Edgy thot"
"Staple face"
"Crazy bitch"
"Ugly worm"
You two laughed each time even harder at every new nickname you gave eachother it's like you two were playing ping pong but with words and insults
"You are rude" He said calming down with laughter now smirking at you
"That's my love language and way of showing affection" You blew him a kiss jokingly still laughing a bit
"Ah, so insulting is now new way of showing love?" He rolled his eyes and grinned at you
"It was always"
"Don't shit" He let out a snort than winked at you jokingly as you two continued walking around basement trying to find anything interesting. Eventually you gave up and were about to take out pack of cigarettes but than out of nowhere a tall, skinny, hairless and literally plain figure came out of wall which caught you two off guard a little. It didn't had any clothes on, it had large claws and black eye sockets...
Tumblr media
"Rake? This you bro?" You said as both of you were holding in laughter and shitting pants at same time. Well...it ain't that bad to joke in fucked up situations like this right? Besides...it makes situation less worse and at same time worse.
Dabi pushed your arm with his elbow to let you know it's not time for jokes without saying anything. Even though he was at verge of bursting into laughter
The creature wasn't saying anything or talking at all it instead made some weird inhumane sounds and growls as it was stepping closer and closer to you two slowly. And of course you two were stepping back obviously, as out of nowhere there was few more same creatures as this one creeping out of wall slowly.
"What the fuck are these?"
"Not even God I don't believe in knows"
You two whispered to eachother and he snorted quietly at your comments but snapping back into serious expression once again as you continued to step back together. The rake lookingass bitches creatures were getting closer and closer to you slowly, you could feel your heart beat going faster and faster in panic but you remained silent and he did same as you two continued backing away
"Shit" he muttered to himself
As they got close enough to you two about like two-three meters away, Dabi stepped in front of you, holding his one arm out to push you back behind him and as for other arm he used his quirk to burn the creatures.
Tumblr media
You continued standing behind him watching in fascination and surprise at his protective behavior. And it did worked, it stopped creatures, but not for long. After a while they were really slowly healing and returning to their normal looks. But at least they couldn't move much for now, as you and Dabi watched celling of basement burn, soon enough there was slowly more creatures coming out of basement walls, and you two watched in pure shock as those burnt one's returned back to normal. Dabi once again used his quirk but for a bit longer now, to make them slow down a bit like last time
Tumblr media
He kept looking behind himself a little to check up on you if you were alright, he was really careful and watching out while using his quirk, he didn't want to hurt you. After he burnt these creatures again he stopped using his quirk as smoke was coming out of his arm, and than you grabbed him for his coat as you both started running towards upstairs door for basement exit. You forgot the door was locked but Dabi didn't wanted to use his quirk to destroy it because he was afraid he will burn you accidentally. The creatures were getting closer and closer to stairs, to you both. You decided to kick door, it didn't work at first, but as you tried to kick door over and over again the creatures started walking upstairs. You decided to step back a little and rush to door kicking it as hard as you can, and finally it worked. The door fell off and broke a little as you and Dabi started running towards exit of the house, tons of those disgusting creatures running after you both, you and him almost fell and bumped into something as you runned in panic looking for damn exit.
"WHERE THE HELL IS IT?!?"
"MAYBE HERE I'M NOT SURE?!?"
You two runned towards door in front of you and the door was locked
"WHY IS EVERYTHING GETTING LOCKED IN THIS GODDAMN PLACE?!? WHAT TYPE OF FUCKING CURSE IS THIS?!?"
You shouted in frustration and panic as you watched creatures getting closer and closer to both of you. Dabi and you at same time were kicking and pushing door but the door wouldn't break no matter what. You looked once again behind you two creatures getting even closer as you took the lamp off floor and threw it at one of creatures face. Dabi wheezed and coughed trying not to laugh in this fucked up situation but you were making it harder all time. After that you both ran on next floor as creatures were getting way more aggressive and faster, continuing to run after you both. You and him were gasping for air as running in pure panic than breaking the window jumping through it. You two landed on abandoned car that was right next to abandoned house, good thing it was only second floor, nothing higher otherwise you would break your legs probably and end up like pancakes.
Dabi and you continued running and running unstoppably than after a while turning back to look at house and seems like those creatures didn't wanted to leave house? It looked like they were stuck in it, like they had to be inside that house...But they still watched you two out of windows for a while, than turned back and walked away.
"They... won't leave house and continue running after us, try to kill us?" Dabi said in confusion, now calming down a little bit as he rested his hands on his knees while catching breath "Not that I'm complaining but it's... surprising.?"
"I don't care, I don't want or plan to find out, we escaped without getting injured. That's all that matters.." You said laying down on the side of road catching breath and trying to calm down. Dabi laughed at your words and your actions
"True" He said laying next to you now on the side of road looking at sky as you both laughed and relaxed now.
Tumblr media
"But yeah, it is.. quite interesting that they won't leave house. Not to mention your flames couldn't kill them and they got back to normal like it was nothing.
"It's weird as hell, I wonder what these things are.
You know what? I don't want to think about this now" You sighed than smirked at him
"Fair enough" You both laughed, continuing to look at sky while laying next to eachother on the side of road
"We'll chat about this other days than, I guess. I can't think currently as well"
"Yeah I don't feel like braining now"
"Braining?" He snorted at your comment
"mhm"
After a while laying like this, you two lit cigarettes while getting up slowly
"We better get up otherwise I'll fall asleep"
"Heh, alright. Let's get back in town than" he said smirking at you, resting his hand on your shoulder as you two smoked and started walking towards town, it was only ten minutes away.
"Shall we tell league members about this?"
"Fuck no, they won't believe us and they'll think we are messing around with them. They'll ask us what type of shit were on if we tell them."
"You are right. Let's keep it a secret than" he grinned and nodded in agreement with you
"I might sound crazy..but it was quite fun not gonna lie"
"Well..yeah, you made it fun after all. I didn't know should I smack you in head or laugh when you were joking around while these fuckers chased us" He laughed silently, winking at you a little "You are so messed up and chaotic, I love it" Dabi smiled while looking at you in the eyes, messing with your hair a little than grinned
"We should hang out more often, I don't remember last time having fun like this.."
"Sure, I like spending time with you anyways"
You two continued chatting as you smoked and walked towards town together, later on y'all run into white van seeing Spinner, Twice, Toga and Tomura. They were asking you two where have you two been. Of course you wouldn't tell them exact truth now so you and Dabi told them that you two were just walking around and outside town a little. After talking for a while Dabi and you got inside van with others and went in hiding base. It was pretty long, chaotic and pure hell of a day. But it was fun, and you are willing to hang out with Dabi like that more often for sure.
Tumblr media
Now that I wrote this finally, I can rest in peace.
I feel like my eyeballs will fall out, I hope y'all like this ig 💀💀💀

Tumblr media
Pairing: Touya Todoroki x Reader (Female)
Synopsis: Touya has become a hero, fulfilling his father's wish. He wanted Endeavor to be proud of him. Then why is this emptiness chasing him everywhere? Why can't he fit in with everyone else? Is this really what he wanted? All his thoughts and concepts about the hero society are left in chaos when he meets a certain villain.
Note: There is just Fuyumi in this story because Touya has achieved what Endeavor wanted.
Word count: 2.6k
Parts: |Part 1| |Part 2| |Part 3| |Part 4| |Part 5| |Part 6| |Part 7|
He was walking towards the house he spent all his life in, with clear determination. He didn’t need to ring any bells because he had a spare key to the house. As soon as he walked in, he heard hurried footsteps and Fuyumi’s voice asking, “Oh Father! Did you find anything related to Tou-” but she stopped midway when her eyes met his. They were so wide as she froze in her spot, her hand clutching the shirt in front of her. After the initial surprise, the hurt was clear on her face but she still ran over to him and wrapped her arms around him. Her grip was tight around him and he could feel his shirt get wet from her tears but he didn’t raise his arms to hug her back. He didn’t want his filth rubbing on her.
The amount of guilt he felt for being the cause of that expression on her face was immense. He never thought it could be enough for his determination to waver but here he was, contemplating the decisions he made in the past two days. It didn’t last long because Endeavor flashed before his mind and all that hatred came back followed closely by the phony hero society. He gritted his teeth and his hands were clenched beside him. He was glaring at the wall in front of him, not realizing that his whole body was shaking from anger. He finally lifted his hands and pushed Fuyumi back gently. He looked down at her with darkened eyes. “I’m leaving.” Before taking her reaction in he decided to walk past her to visit mother before he left.
But Fuyumi had other plans. She grabbed his arm tightly, preventing him from walking away. When did she get this strong? Had she been training? But he pushed those thoughts out of his head. “But why…? Touya, what happened? Everything was going so well. It seemed like we were like a normal family!”. He let out a low chuckle when she said that. “Keyword: Seemed. We never really were and you know that better than anyone else.” With that he pulled himself out of her grip and went to the lounge where he found his mother placing her tea cup down on the table. He heard Fuyumi running after him but stopping at the lounge entrance.
He slowly walked towards his mother but stopped when she spoke. “So, you decided to leave.” Her tone suggested that she was not asking a question. He hummed in return. “Stay safe out there and know that you can always come back here in the future.” She added right after. All he could do in that moment was nod. In the past few years, he realized his mother had been so accepting of everything he did, no matter what Endeavor or anyone else had to say. She was always there, rooting for him. He had misunderstood her in the past but he understood the situation much better now. “I will try.” His voice was low as he started to turn away from her. “Oh, and Touya?” He turned around when she called out his name and saw her head turned to look at him with a sad smile on her face. “I’m sorry. For not doing enough for you.” His head shook before she could finish her sentence but he couldn’t say anything to stop her because it seemed like there was a lump stuck in his throat.
“You’ve done enough. I’m not leaving because of you.” He couldn’t believe he was saying these words just now because Touya in the past would never. All of this, he learnt from Y/N. He let out a shaky breath when her face crossed his mind so he shook his head and saw tears in his mother’s eyes. She had completely turned towards him with her arms wide open, waiting for him to come forward so she could embrace him in a tight hug. He stood there for a while but he finally took small steps forward until his mother’s arm could easily wrap around him. He let out an oomph sound because Fuyumi jumped on to them, putting all her weight on him, crushing him between her and mother. “I’ll miss you, Touya.” Fuyumi finally spoke. All of this seemed so foreign to him but he didn’t hate it. Although the timing just wasn’t right.
He left the house with a heavy heart. Those two managed to waver his determination so much that he was about to quit and stay home but he knew he had to do what he decided to start.
He spent the next few months collecting all the evidence against the hero society. He had to go through private data after infiltrating different buildings to get the CCTV footage. The number of crimes he committed in the past month was probably more than the number of days he had spent in this world. He hadn’t killed any more people since that one accidental murder. He would just stun the people on his missions. He hired a hacker to collect more data as well. It showed him how dirty the hero society actually was. He was so disgusted that he blindly followed his father to be a part of this hero society. That he even burnt his own wings for it. His jaw was clenched as he watched a group of heroes partying on some island drinking and getting high while balls deep in young girls sold to them. It was so hard for him to not just break the laptop. He was censoring the faces of the girls to keep their privacy. All of it seemed like he was watching some movie but it was reality, the ugly truth.
He was nearly done compiling the video which he was planning to broadcast to the whole world. He knew very well that a lot of people would come after him with the intent to kill. He also knew that once the video is out, he won’t be able to go back to his old life. But after watching all those heinous crimes, there was no way he wanted to go back. He could finally see the world through Y/N’s eyes and it was sickening. He wanted to protect her from all that but in order to do that, he needed to stay far away from her because he was about to become the most wanted man in the country.
He put the laptop away after finishing the video and uploading it on a USB. He stood up from his working table after putting the USB in his pocket. He realized in the past month that he couldn’t cook to save his life. The number of times he had to change apartments because of fires was embarrassing. So, he depended on take-outs completely. He realized that everything tasted the same, full of chemicals and dull. His take-out was waiting on the table which he forgot to eat because he was really busy. Today was his deadline and he had a lot of work to finish. He just opened the boxes and started eating the cold meal. He realized it was pointless to heat the food because it would just go down the drain in the end anyway.
After eating half of that repulsive food, he threw it away. He went to the bathroom to take a quick shower. He stopped when he saw his reflection in the mirror. His hair was a complete mess and the white roots had grown out a lot. He really needed to get a haircut and dye his hair but he didn’t know how to and he had no time to go to a hairdresser. There were dark circles under his eyes, making him look like a panda except that he had lost weight. The clothes that fit him perfectly before were loose now. The most prominent difference was the presence of small patches of purple on his skin, including his face due to overusing his quirk.
After a quick shower, he dried himself up and wore his usual white t-shirt with black pants. He saw the sun peeking from the horizon from his window so he wore a black leather jacket which had a silver spiky design popping out of it. He also had a dog tag hanging around his neck. He checked himself out in the full body mirror for his piercings and to see if any of his tattoos were poking out of his clothes. Endeavor hated tattoos and he always wanted to get them but was unable to until he left the house. He walked over to the doorway and put on his combat boots and a black mask to hide his face.
He checked his pocket once to make sure the USB was there and walked out of the apartment. The hacker had given him some dirty secrets related to a news broadcasting company which agreed to post his video after he blackmailed them to show it on their channel without having a look at it.
He needed to be careful about appearing in the public after what happened last month. All the people who once looked at him with admiration looked at him with disgust now. There were a lot of search parties still looking for him. He took a deep breath as he got out of the apartment. He hadn’t gone out in a few days and the fresh air felt good. There weren’t a lot of people outside at this hour, at least not in the sketchy area he lived in. This area was filled with drug addicts and people who either didn’t have a job or were barely making it through the day.
He took the sub-way and waited for his station to arrive. He was staring at his hands which were covered in scars as well. Living among the thorny flowers can end up with small injuries like these. At the back of his mind, Y/N was there fussing over his injuries and taking care of them, telling him to be careful, giving him advice on how to prevent his body from deteriorating from his quirk. He let out a sigh and clenched his shaky hands in to tight fists. His vision was getting blurry so he blinked back the tears. He knew that he won’t ever have what he really wanted because he did not deserve to have her nor was she safe with him around. She was strong enough to survive on her own especially being involved with villains for so many years. He knew that she knew ways to get out of bad situations because she still had her wings. She had made it clear to him as well that she didn’t want to be with him the way he wanted to be with her. He could tell that his end was near. He was blessed with another life eight years ago but he wanted to return it to whatever gods were up there after fulfilling his duty.
He heard the announcement for his stop so he got up and walked out of the subway. The broadcasting company’s building was just five minutes away. There were way more people in this part of city because it was the working-class people who lived around here. He had just taken a few steps when he noticed some unrest. His body was conditioned to pick that up from years of training to become a hero. There were subtle signs you needed to look for. He saw a sudden increase in people speed-walking in a specific direction. It meant the unrest was happening in the opposite direction. Without thinking much of it, he started going in that direction to see what was going on.
What he saw there was not something he expected to find. Before he could stop himself, he ran towards the scene. Y/N was lying in the middle of the road in a pool of blood. He was hoping it was not hers as he activated his quirk and aimed it at the man looming over her. What he did a month ago was repeating itself. All he could see was red as he kept punching this man with his brilliant blue flames covering his fists. “Don’t you fucking dare to lay another finger on her or else you won’t get to see this world again.” He growled out in anger as he stood up and kicked him. He was about to kick him some more when he heard a wet cough coming from behind him causing all his anger to melt. He could finally see again.
His eyes widened as he turned around quickly. He rushed over to her and was on his knees. His hands were trembling as he tried to reach out to her. He didn’t want to touch her in the state she was in. It seemed like if he touched her, she would break. She had a deep wound on her stomach which she was clutching. Her face held a pained expression. Her eyes were closed and she wasn’t moving except the irregular breathing. He finally gathered his courage enough to touch her. He noticed her eyes twitching. “Y/N…” His voice was shaky. He saw her open her eyes slightly. “You are a fucking dumb-ass.” His voice was strained as he was trying to hold his emotions in check while picking her up. “Can’t even climb a fucking cliff without rolling down it.” He spoke as he quickly took her to the nearest hospital. She let out a chuckle and tried saying something but he couldn’t understand. As long as she was speaking, it meant that she was still alive.
The people on the reception were being a total bitch because she was not allowed to get treatment from any hospitals because she was labelled as a villain so she was lying on a bed bleeding to death. It was really hard for him to keep his cool in a situation like this. This was exactly what Y/N always talked about. This difference in treatment of heroes and villains. He gave them a manic smirk as he took his phone out and played a video for them. “You know about this by any chance?” He showed them a clip of a hero bringing in a young girl he had assaulted. All her lab reports were present in the video but they had decided to stay hush hush about it because the hero bribed them with a lot of money.
“You wouldn’t want people finding about this now, would you?” He pulled his phone away from them after taking in their horrified expressions. He saw the receptionist quickly typing and telling another person to go inform the doctor to start the treatment. He quietly walked away from them. The doctors told him that she needed emergency surgery because there was a lot of internal damage and bleeding which required fixing. So now he sat in the waiting area, anxiety-ridden, thinking of all the horrible scenarios.
He realized that she needed to be more careful if she was going to be on her own especially when he won’t be available to protect her. He needed to do something about it before he died. He saw the red light turn off. He felt his stomach doing flips in his stomach. He had his hands clenched tightly in fists beside him causing his knuckles to become white. The door finally opened revealing the doctor so he stood up immediately and closed the distance between them.

-♡- ... ...
"Take the kids to safety" "And anyone else?" "No traces, burn them all."
... ... -♡-
The sun wrapped around her skin as she woke groggily. Limbs tangled in the sheets as she grabbed her body stretched, leaving her tossing trying to regain a glimpse of her sleep. Reluctantly she opened her eyes, harsh sunlight beaming at her as sat up, the noise of the outside world tumbling through the cracked glass of her window. Slowly she got herself ready for the day, swaying to the sound of the music that played through her busted headphones, on bud silent as she worked. She smiled at her own reflection before heading into the small room they called a living room. She cringed at the smell of burnt leather, nose crinkling as the scent filled the room. "Oi, Touya. Get up." she sighed poking the man in her living room, passed out, thick heavy jacket hanging loosely on his arm as he lay spread out on their couch. He grumbled swatting her hand away as he turned away from her. Back facing her as he buried himself between the cushions as she opened the blinds. Sun showing no mercy as it soaked into ever crevice it could reach, leaving the older man hissing to himself as he sat up. Messy white hair covering his tried eyes as cursed at her for waking him. She only brushed it off as she grabbed whatever they had in the fridge, taking a seat as she ate. The man looked her up and down. Taking in her unusual attire. She looked more like the rest of the shits in the world, more put together he supposed. "Why're you dressed like that?" She looked up confused for a moment as he cruised into the kitchen, grabbing a chilled drink and whatever junk he dug up to eat as he sat across from her. "Like that?" He looked her over once again. Mouth full as he spoke. "Like that" She rolled her eyes grabbing her plate, voice calm as she cleaned her mess careful not to stain herself. "I don't know what your talking about" He watched amused as he flung his feet up on your chair leaning back as he yawned, only to fall back with a thud. Her head snapped back to the table, hand thrown over her mouth in an attempt to stifle the bursting laughter that filled the room. He groaned, pushing himself off the floor as he kicked the chair, standing to his full height as he brushed his coat. Lips pulled in a scowl as he grumbled. "Yea yea laugh it up, but seriously. Whats with the get up?" he echoed his previous question, eyebrow raised curiously, his gaze softening just abit. She smiled as she smoothed out her uniform, pride beaming from her skin as she spoke. "Im trying out for the UA today" He nearly fell back again. His eyes widened as his sister explained that the school had put out another try out for a spare positions in one of the hero course's. It took him a moment to speak, weighing the thought heavily. "Why?" She turned confused to see him, hand on his chin as he looked deep in contemplation. "What?" "I asked why? I mean like c'mon, you really wanna be a hero like all those other kids?" He looked down at her, head tilted as if he couldn't possibly fathom any of her reasoning's. "And plus there's gotta be hundreds of kids lining up, why even bother?" She opened her mouth and suddenly all her previous reasons slipped from her mind. She shut her mouth as she contemplated, silence filling the space between them. Touya shook his head dismissively as he waved his hand in the air, turning his attention on his phone now. "See? Told ya. Now go get changed I'm sure you can still re-apply for whatever school is near by-"
"Because I've decided to take a chance."
Now his turn to take on confusion he turned his eyes back to her, who was now staring directly at him. E/C eye's meeting cyan. Something in the room shifted. He hardened his gaze she didn't back down, that same spark flickering confidently again. She mimicked his own thinking process, eyebrows knitt loosely as she focused, answer thought out word for word. "You asked why I want to be a hero right? Well I answered. Because I want to take my chances." "And if you fail?" The question stung abit more than she had wished it too. Because in reality she may fail, she could end up walking home with her tail between her legs. She took a steady breath eye's still trained on his. "That's part of taking risk's isn't it?" She said, smile returning sheepishly as she awaited his answer. "You got one day kid, make it count." And with that she leaped from her spot rushing to grab her things frantically as she thanked her brother, thank you's spewing from her lips as she ran out the door. "Won't let ya down!" Touya pinched his between his eyes, sighing in frustration despite the small smile he tried to swallow. -♡-
Sorry its so short, if this does well and ppl want a part too Ill be making it a series :)

DRANK DRY THE RIVER LETHE
"These days I think I owe my life
To flowers that were left here by my mother,
Ain't that like them, gifting life to you again?
- First Time, Hozier
Tumblr media
a/n: trying baby daddy touya, brief mentions of pregnancy, reader is exhausted and dealing w some parental impostor syndrome, reader and baby are referred to as touya's girls
Tumblr media
Touya comes home to a crying baby, something that has slowly become the new norm for him.
The fall breeze is uncomfortably chilly now that the sun has long gone down, and he can hear the familiar shrieks and hiccups before he's able to unlock and open the apartment door.
You don't hear him enter over the whines of the baby you cradle and caress in your hold. Touya's met with the back of your head and the sound of your desperate coos as he kicks off his shoes and shrugs off his jacket, making his way over to his girls. His family.
"Hey," he makes it a point to speak before letting his hand come to rest on your lower back. You'd think he'd have mastered how jumpy you are after all this time, but you flinch all the same at the sound of his voice.
He lets the warmth of his touch press up against your skin in an attempt to comfort you, but the second he's able to catch your eye, he knows it'll require a lot more than that to soothe your worries.
From your gaze alone, he can sense your panic almost immediately.
"She won't stop crying," is the first thing you say to him.
It comes out rushed and nervous, like you've been waiting for him to return home for hours. You have been, he knows to be true even though you don't say it.
He winces a bit as he takes in your appearance. You look smaller than he's ever remembered, and perhaps there's a truth to that old saying about not noticing something as it happens right before you, until it's already too late.
Your eyes are dark with exhaustion, his t-shirt swallowing you whole is covered with what he knows to be stains of vomit and spit-up. Your body doesn't stop moving, heels don't stop bouncing softly back and forth as you attempt to soothe your daughter in any way possible.
He doesn't ask how long you've been at this.
The haste returns when you continue, "She's not hungry, I've changed her three times, her temperature is normal, and I hate that I even checked her temperature more than once because she fucking hates it and--"
A calloused palm finds your head, gently brushing the tousled hair behind your ear and trying to rub the tension from behind your neck.
"Hey, hey. Easy."
He tries to console you. His tone is a bit cautious, like he's trying to slowly approach a wild and contaminated animal, but it comforts you all the same.
His heart hurts as he watches you take a shaky inhale, holding it for a brief moment before exhaling it just as uneasily. You're drained.
If this was three months ago, he'd instantly grab your wrist--force you to lay on top of him in bed until you inevitably pass out and succumb to your own exhaustion.
But things are different now, and he's not just in charge of you anymore. He has two girls to take care of, one being a lot more helpless than the other who needs him just as badly right now.
"I don't know what I'm doing wrong," you weakly admit through the tears that sit heavy in the back of your throat.
Nothing, Touya wants to say. He doesn't even think you're capable of doing something that isn't right, but he's self-aware enough to bite his tongue and focus on the task at hand.
His eyes fall to where the bundle of baby still shrieks and sobs against your arms. He slowly reaches to rub a soft finger against her puffy cheek before sighing to himself.
"Don't babies cry for no reason sometimes?" he mumbles.
"She doesn't cry like this for you."
He knows it's the fatigue behind your bite, so he chooses to ignore the harsh comparison.
"Yeah, she does, baby," he calmly breathes. "You're just tired."
Wordlessly, he motions for you to hand your daughter to him, and the pass happens naturally for all three of you. She leaves your arms and enters his without so much of a struggle. And you can't shake the failure that weighs heavy on your shoulders as you watch him gently bounce the baby on his hip, her cries almost immediately softening by being in his mere presence.
It takes all of thirty seconds before she's practically silent, resting on his chest and babbling herself into a calm drowsiness. His hand cradles the back of her head gently, mimicking how it did yours mere moments ago.
The scene before you is all you've ever wanted, and it's finally yours. And you absolutely hate that you feel a sob of exhaustion wrack through your chest, ruining a moment you never thought you'd have.
Touya watches you shrink before him, your eyes on the peaceful scene before you as you choke out a teary, "She hates me."
"Bullshit, c'mere."
He readjusts your baby so she's comfortably supported with one arm, using the other to snake around your shoulders and pull you in with them. You feel his hand flat against your sore back, rubbing gentle circles and pressing you into his warmth.
The three of you stand huddled together, all clinging onto one another in one way or the other. The baby in Touya's hold rests her sock-covered foot on the flat of your arm. You lean into Touya's chest, head right next to your daughter's as he whispers sweet reassurances. You don't need to ask to know they're meant for the both of you.
After a few minutes, Touya pulls away a bit, but only to use both hands to place the baby back in her crib. The transition is easy and she's out cold as she sinks into the tiny mattress pad and sprawls out.
The two of you lean on one another, hovering over the wood to watch her sleep. Her eyelids flicker with movement, her chubby fingers squeezing around nothing every now and then.
Eventually, Touya tiredly whispers into your hair, “I learned all this from you, y'know."
Sniffling with heavy eyes and a confused pout, you weakly turn your head up to look at him in confusion.
Assuming he's talking about parenthood, his words don't make any sense in your fatigued and spiraling mind.
You learned together. He was there in the hospital when the midwives walked you through swaddling and latching and burping. When you'd discovered that your daughter preferred to eat after napping because nursing before made her sick. Watching online tutorials on which bassinet is safest for newborns---Touya was there, for all of it. He didn't learn anything about this from you.
But when he looks down into your watery eyes, through the dark of the nursery and against the shallow breaths of your sleeping daughter, you realize he's not talking about that.
His voice is a mere whisper when he confesses, “Like, how to love her right.”
Sniffling and swollen, you open your mouth to protest, but no words come out. Utterly speechless, you just stare at him a bit dumbly.
Touya fights off a smirk at your uncharacteristic silence, directing his attention back to the sleeping baby once more.
"Wouldn't know how to do this if it wasn't for you, letting me learn how to love you," he admits.
He reaches down into the crib to where she sleeps on her back, arms spread out and upward like she's stretching her tiny limbs. He takes the tips off his fingers and gently rubs her onesie-covered tummy.
“So, when she feels it from me," he whispers, not taking his eyes off of the annoyingly perfect baby before him, "it’s really just an extension of you.”
A moment of silence passes. In the heaviness of the moment, he almost thinks you didn't hear him. But he's proven wrong--something he's learned is often the case with you--when he turns his head to where you wait. Touya sees your eyes and cheeks glistening with newly shed tears, no longer the dried ones from your weariness and anxiety, gleaming up back at him.
He can't help but shake his head and laugh at the soft sight before him, withdrawing his hand from the baby's tummy and wrapping it around your shoulder.
He ushers your head into his chest, muttering a loving, “Alright crybaby, c'mon.”
He lets you sniffle and close your eyes against the cheap cotton of his shirt, letting his own eyes shut and resting his chin atop your head.
Slowly, but all the same, you feel that gentle sting of guilt eventually fade from your lungs with each gentle exhale. With heavy eyes and bad posture, you ground yourself through the senses around you. Touya's skin against yours, the sounds of gentle sighs and sniffles. The baby, the one that you had together, safe in her crib with the sole responsibility of innocently existing.
You don't want to ever forget this, or maybe you do. Half of you wishes you could forget it, just to receive the blessing of experiencing it for the first time all over again.
“Also use my quirk sometimes,” you think you hear muffled into the crown of your skull.
You open your puffy eyes to look up at him, confused.
"What?"
You watch Touya smugly shrug as he brushes the stray and sticky hairs from your clammy forehead. A sly blush creeps up his neck and jaw when he fights off a smile.
"Warm my hand up and put it on her stomach," he admits casually, caressing your soggy cheek, "shuts her right up."
You laugh, wet and pathetic and absolutely enamored by him, "That's cheating, you asshole."
You don't blame her, you think, considering the countless times you've requested the same thing from him. From period cramps to pregnancy pain to just wanting to feel him--maybe it's genetic, having your DNA and craving his warmth simultaneously.
You decide that Touya must be thinking the same thing, because he simply chuckles with you, rubbing your back as you feel the familiar heat of his fingers begin to tingle.
"Yeah, yeah," he kisses your head, "wonder where she learned that from."

Resistance
Tumblr media
Summary: Dabi returns to retrieve the sweatshirt he mistakenly left in your apartment,
Genre: angst with comfort, fluff
CW: mentions of sex, mentions of choking, cursing (?), Dabi is in denial about his feelings (surprise, surprise), smoking
Word Count: 1,126
Pairing: Dabi x gender-neutral reader
Tumblr media
Dabi falls for you slowly, dragging his feet as his heart leads him back to you time and time again, despite how he protests.
And protest he does. Forces himself to stay away for weeks at a time, forces himself to avoid your part of town, just in case he can’t resist the pull of your smile.
But inevitably, he gets a little too high, a little too drunk, and he finds himself tapping that soft pattern on your window. It’s suspiciously close to the melody of the song playing when he first kissed you, laying in the middle of your living room all those months ago, but you’d never dare to ask.
Everytime he gives in is the same, whether he’s drunk or sober, with lots of whispered apologies and confessions of how he missed you. He pretends not to care what the answer is when he asks if he can kiss you, and you never fail to see the way his eyes light up when you tell him yes.
For a while, things will return to normal, where he’ll sneak in late at night, hold you in ways no other man has ever been allowed to. It’s sweaty skin pressed together, dark strands sticking to your face when he presses his forehead against yours, and whispered praises against your throat right next to his palm circling it.
And then one morning, he’ll be gone again, without a trace. It’s comfortable for him, leaving like a ghost. He’s sure it’ll make things easier when he inevitably leaves for good.
Except he’s bound to make a mistake eventually. He just wishes it’s not in the form of his favorite sweatshirt left crumpled on your couch where he’d let you tug it off him, hands slipping over his skin.
For a week straight, he debates leaving it, but eventually decides there’s no reason he can’t sneak in and take it back, missing its warmth and the anonymity it provided when he went out.
He waits until the light shuts off behind your curtains, smoke billowing from his lips as he sits on the rooftop edge of the building across from your apartment, mentally mapping out the location of your furniture so he can slip in and slip out quickly in the dark.
Your living room window is unlocked like usual when he tries it, and he shakes his head in disapproval, muttering under his breath about all the trouble you could invite into your life with your bad habits.
The irony isn’t lost on him, but he swallows the guilt quickly before it can overwhelm him and convince him to see you, opting to search your living room instead.
He’s frustrated to find it’s not in the exact spot he left it, but not surprised, given how much time has passed. He’s silent as he creeps along the hall to your room, the door open as if you knew he’d be coming by.
Or maybe just hoping.
The light from the city washes you in a white haze, and he’s surprised to see you curled up into yourself rather than sprawled out like usual, your hands tucked in close to your face.
He risks a closer look, eyes scanning over your sleeping form, and surprise ripples through him when he finally realizes you’re wrapped in his sweatshirt, the black material baggy on you.
He sucks in a breath at the sight, feet shuffling closer until he’s standing directly over you, and it’s only then that he notices the tear tracks that streak down your cheeks, and the way your brows are furrowed unhappily even in sleep.
He feels a pang in his chest as he wonders if this is because of him, if this is his affect on your life. He wants to be able to shrug and leave, wants to roll his eyes and huff at you for being so emotional, but he can’t bring himself to pretend.
Instead, he crouches down to eye level with you, resting his arm on the edge of the bed as his chin settles on it. He watches you for a moment, the way your breath puffs out between your lips, the way your frown seems to deepen occasionally and you press deeper against the material of his clothes.
Finally, he can’t take it anymore, and he lifts his other hand, knuckles running lightly over the swell of your cheek. You’ve never been a light sleeper, but it doesn’t take long before your eyes are fluttering open and you’re peering at him in confusion.
“Dabi?” Your voice is low, and emptier than he can ever recall it being in his presence.
His lips purse for a moment before he gives a simple nod, knuckles continuing to smooth over your skin, a feeble attempt to wipe away tears that have long since dried. “Hey, doll.”
You stare at him for a moment longer, blinking slowly, as if you’re sure the next time you open your eyes, he’ll be gone. But he isn’t.
“Seems like you’ve had a rough day.” he comments quietly, and your eyes widen almost imperceptibly for a moment before they’re closing tightly and you’re leaning into his touch, fingers wrapping around his wrist to keep him there.
Your lip press into a tight line, and all you do is nod once, tilting your head to press your lips against his pulse. He hopes you can’t feel it jump under your mouth, pulling away gently so he can stand once more, leaning over to press a gentle kiss into the crown of your head.
You glance up at him sadly, disappointment flooding your gaze as you wait for him to leave again, brows drawn low on confusion when he moves to take off his shoes instead.
His shirt goes next, hooking his thumbs into the collar and tugging it over his head before throwing it somewhere in the dark. He pauses then, second guessing himself as he runs a hand through his hair, making it stick up in odd angles.
But the way you’re watching him has him softening, jerking his chin towards the center of the bed as his knee sinks into the mattress net to you. “Scoot, I’m not letting you shove me off again,” he grumbles, but there’s no malice in his words.
If anything, he’s glad you can’t see the way his face heats in the dark over how he lets affection bleed into timbre of his voice when he next speaks, sinking into the softness of your bed as he pulls you into his chest.
“Missed you.”

Pairing: Dabi x Hero!Reader
Warning: slight angst
Synopsis: You are a hero who works behind the scenes providing support and information to those on the front lines. You are drawn to the notorious villain, Dabi, and have a secret friendship with him, knowing the consequences if anyone found out. You feel dread and anxiety when given orders to prepare for your first battle, but eventually find yourself on the battlefield.
Words: 1.9k
Tumblr media
You were a hero, but you didn't fight in combat like most of your colleagues. Instead, you worked behind the scenes, providing support and information to those on the front lines. You were good at what you did, and you knew that you were making a difference, even if nobody ever saw you do it.
But there was one person who did see you, and that was Dabi, the notorious villain. You knew it was risky to be friends with him, but you couldn't help feeling drawn to his dark charisma and the way he always seemed to be two steps ahead of everyone else.
You kept your friendship with Dabi a secret, knowing that if anyone found out, you would be branded a traitor and thrown in jail. But you couldn't help feeling a twinge of guilt every time you saw him, knowing that you were supposed to be fighting against him, not befriending him.
After receiving the orders from your team leaders to prepare for the next battle, you felt a sense of dread wash over you. You had always been more comfortable working behind the scenes, providing support and information to the heroes on the front lines. The thought of actually joining them in battle made your stomach churn.
Despite your reservations, you knew that you had to comply with your team's orders. You spent hours training and preparing for the battle, but the fear and anxiety never left you.
Finally, the day arrived, and you found yourself standing on the battlefield, surrounded by heroes ready to fight. You tried to blend in with the crowd, hoping that no one would recognize you.
But as soon as you locked eyes with Dabi, you knew that your cover was blown. He looked just as surprised to see you there as you were to see him. You could feel his eyes on you as he quickly recovered and began to fight alongside his fellow villains, showing a serious face, sometimes even letting out a smirk when he hit any of his opponents.
Your heart raced as you tried to focus on the battle at hand. You knew that your actions would determine the outcome of this fight, and you couldn't let your fear get in the way of your duty. But now and then, you caught a glimpse of Dabi, a slight fear washed over you, as he was a powerful and recognized villain and you, right now, were his enemy. But at the same time, you couldn't help but looked amazed. The same look of intrigue as the first time you two met, could be seen in your eyes.
As the battle raged on, you found yourself staying at a safe distance, doing your best to provide support without getting in the way of the heroes on the front lines. You kept your focus on your work, knowing that your actions could make a difference in the outcome of the battle. Suddenly, you noticed Dabi. He was fighting fiercely, throwing flames left and right, but he also seemed to be doing something else. Something that caught your attention, something that made your heart skip a beat. Dabi was protecting you.
You couldn't believe it. Why would he do that? Did he really think of you as his friend? You always thought it was more of a one sided feeling, as he always looked bored near you. Though he would always come to meet you, no matter what.
Dabi wasn't attacking you. Actually, he wasn't throwing any attacks in your direction at all. You watched as he subtly redirected his teammates' attacks, hitting them just enough to deflect them away from you. It was as if he was trying to keep you safe without drawing too much attention to himself.
After what felt like an eternity, the battle had finally come to an end. You let out a long sigh of relief, grateful that you and your team had emerged victorious. But even in the midst of your triumph, you couldn't help but feel a sense of unease. The memory of the villain's attack was still fresh in your mind, and you couldn't shake off the feeling that you had been lucky to survive.
As you tried to catch your breath and steady your nerves, you suddenly saw one of the villains getting anxious. It was as if he had lost all hope, and was determined to go down in a blaze of glory. Before you could react, he threw a massive attack, and you found yourself in the direct line of fire.
You froze, unable to move, as the powerful attack headed straight towards you. Your heart was pounding in your chest, and you could feel the fear rising within you. It was as if time had slowed down, and you were trapped in a nightmare from which you couldn't escape.
But then, out of nowhere, Dabi was there. He came running towards you, with a determined look in his eyes. And before you could even comprehend what was happening, he used his body as a shield, placing himself between you and the oncoming attack.
"Are you okay?!?" His panic was evident in his voice, even if he tried to hide it as he looked at you with concern. You couldn't answer, tears forming in your eyes, as you watched the injuries all around his body. It was clear that he had taken the brunt of the explosion, just to protect you.
In that moment, you felt overwhelmed with emotions. Gratitude, respect, awe. You couldn't believe that Dabi had risked his life for you, that he had placed your safety above his own. You felt as if the wind had been knocked out of you , as you struggled to find the words to express how you felt.
Dabi looked at you with concern but still with a fierce look in his eyes, ignoring how everyone else around you was looking at the two of you in great confusion. He was mad at the fact that you had been in danger. Mad at everyone in your team and mad at himself. He stood there silent, in front of you, as if you were the only thing that mattered to him, as if he had forgotten everything else in the world. You wondered what was going through his mind, what he was feeling, what he was thinking. Your throat tightened as you reached out to touch Dabi's injuries, your hand hovering over his wounds.
Dabi's eyes widened, as if coming out of a deep thought. His touch was gentle as he caressed your cheek, his eyes fixed on you with a tenderness that you had never seen before. You felt your heart skip a beat as he turned his body towards you, his face close to yours. For a moment, you forgot about everything else in the world, lost in the warmth of his touch.
"I'm alright, [Name]," he said softly, his voice soothing your nerves. "You don't have to worry about me." His usual smirk came back, trying to make you feel better in his own way. You couldn't help but smile at his attempt to lighten the mood, even though you knew that he was badly injured.
"I guess I should thank you for keeping things interesting, huh? I was getting bored with all the easy fights."
You found yourself nodding with a sad smile, too overwhelmed to speak. You wanted to believe him, to trust that he was okay. But as you looked at him, you could only see his bruises, the cuts and burns on his skin, the pain that he was hiding so well.
Your heart ached with a mixture of emotions - gratitude for his sacrifice, guilt for being the cause of his injuries, fear for what could have happened if he hadn't been there to protect you. You wanted to say something, to express how you felt, but the words refused to come out.
In that moment, all you could do was to look into his eyes, to try to convey your emotions through the intensity of your gaze. You hoped that he could see how much he meant to you, how much his sacrifice had touched your heart. And as you looked at him, you knew one thing for sure - you would never forget what he had done for you.
Dabi, seeing how shaken you still were, took your hand and began to lead you away from the battlefield, ignoring the chaos and the fighting still happening around you. You stumbled along beside him. Finally, you both made it out of the battle zone and into a nearby alleyway. Dabi leaned against a wall, still breathing heavily from the explosion, but he didn't let go of your hand. You looked at him, tears still streaming down your face. He smiled at you, as soft as a terrific villain like him ever could.
"You're safe now," he said, his voice low and comforting, wiping your tears away. You leaned into him, feeling his warmth and strength, and he wrapped his arms around you, holding you close. You felt safe in his embrace, and you couldn't help but feel a sense of longing and affection for him. As you both stood there, wrapped up in each other, you realized that your feelings for Dabi had grown beyond friendship. Despite the fact that he was a villain, you couldn't deny the attraction and connection you felt towards him.
Dabi's eyes were fixed on yours, as if searching for something in the depths of your soul. You could feel his gaze piercing through your defenses, tearing down the walls that you had built around your heart. In that moment, you knew that he felt the same way you did - the same overwhelming mix of emotions that threatened to consume you both.
Without a word, you both leaned in towards each other, closing the distance between your bodies. As you wrapped your arms around him, you felt the rough fabric of his coat against your skin, the heat of his body mingling with yours. You could taste the saltiness of your own tears as they mixed with his lips, the taste of him filling your senses. You wanted to hold onto this moment forever, to never let go.
As the kiss deepened, you felt him pull you even closer, his hands exploring every inch of your body as if he were trying to memorize every curve and line. You could feel his desperation, his desire to hold onto you, even as he knew that he had to let you go.
The kiss was intense, filled with a depth of feeling that you had never experienced before. It was as if time stood still, as if nothing else in the world mattered except for this one perfect moment. But even as you kissed, you both knew that it couldn't last. The reality of your situation hung heavy in the air, like a weight that you couldn't escape.
As you both pulled away, you looked at each other, tears still in your eyes. You could see the pain and longing in Dabi's gaze, the same emotions that you were feeling in your own heart. You shared a small smile, a silent acknowledgement of the pain that you both carried.
You knew that your love was doomed, but for that brief moment, you allowed yourselves to be happy.

“Touya?” she repeated his name in that soft concerned voice of hers but he just couldn’t bring himself to say anything. He let out a sigh after a few seconds of silence and ended the call. He put his phone away and laid in fetus position. He was staring at the dark wall in front of him. There was a pattern of branches and leaves along with silver light bouncing off of the wall that was coming from the window.
He was thinking about every single time his father forced him to continue training no matter how exhausted he was. Endeavor would say that he was nowhere close to being All Might’s equal and that he needs to work way harder than he was right now. That part of his life seemed endless. Everyday was the same grueling routine that he had memorized. During those training sessions all he learnt was how to make his fire even stronger and during the process he ended up burning his body but he didn’t let his parents see those burns. Last thing he wanted was for them to find out that he was even weaker than they thought. Hiding the burns was not an easy task and they were bound to find out eventually.
Just when his father was about to give up on him, he found out how his red fire changed to a beautiful blue depending on his emotions. He still remembered how happy and relieved he was that day. He told his father to come see him train on the Sekoto peak. He had low hope because his parents found out about his burns and told him there was no need to compete with All Might.
That day he felt completely useless and helpless. It was as if he had only one purpose in life and he failed it horribly. He was desperate to hold on to this little purpose his life had. He didn’t want to give up on himself so quickly and he wanted to make his parents see that as well. That he was not as worthless as he seemed. That his birth had a purpose. That he didn’t want them to give up on him.
As he waited for his father to show up at Sekoto peak, he slowly started losing hope of him showing up. It seemed like his life had ended before it even started properly. It was as if he was stuck in a cocoon unable to break himself free and fly out with brilliant wings in to the sky. Being stuck in this small place was suffocating and as he tried to break free, his quirk got out of control. He managed to burn through the cocoon but at what cost? Before he knew it, his bright blue flames burnt everything including him. He had no memory of what happened after that. He had woken up in the hospital after being in coma for three years. Fuyumi and mother had tears in their eyes and Endeavor had disbelief in his eyes. They all rushed over to him. Fuyumi and mother hugged him.
Endeavor had apologized for being late that day. He said he wanted to give Touya a chance to continue being a hero. That they will figure out a way for him to use his quirk without having to hurt his body. But his eyes darkened when Endeavor mentioned All Might. When Endeavor looked at Touya, it seemed like he was invisible, a ghost. All Endeavor saw was All Might and how far away he was from achieving that goal. He realized that day that no matter how brilliant his flames shone, Endeavor would never look at him properly because he could never be enough.
He didn’t realize he was grinding his teeth as he thought of the day he woke up after the fire. He decided to become a hero nonetheless, thinking that maybe, just maybe Endeavor would look at him but as the years passed by, he realized that day won’t ever come and that he had been giving himself false hope for all those years. It was a complete waste. After-all, what can a butterfly achieve after it burnt its own wings? He was nothing but a failure. But before he dies, he wanted to prove at least one thing. The weak foundation this hero society stood on, he wanted to give it a little push and watch it all fall like jenga. He wanted everyone to see the duality of this hero society through their own eyes.
He was pulled out of his thoughts by the loud knocking on the door but he made no effort to open the door. He didn’t care about anything at this point. He didn’t expect the person to break open the door and march in. His unfazed eyes found Y/N standing in front of him with her hands resting on either side of her waist as she stared at with anger clear on her face. He just turned his gaze back to the wall. The gentle moonlight was gone now, replaced by soft but brighter sun rays.
“Touya! What the hell was that? What were you thinking when you pulled that feat?!” She was making all sorts of gestures with her hands. He noticed her frustration but didn’t respond to it in anyway. “Oi! I’m talking to you!” She tried to gain his attention but failed because he turned his back to her. He heard her sigh and felt the bed creak and the mattress dipped when she sat. He felt her hand on his arm but he still supported a monotonous expression.
“Just apologize to your dad and continue working with the agency. Your rating will slowly go up because you’re really strong.” His blood boiled when she told him that and he could no longer hold himself back from speaking. “Apologize? To that piece of trash? I did nothing wrong.” He scoffed and roughly pushed her hand away from his arm. “Just fuck off.” When he said that, a heavy silence fell over them but he could tell she was still sitting there.
“To-” Before she could say anything else he cut her off. “Don’t concern yourself with me anymore and go patch up those poor unfortunate souls.” Even though he said that, he could feel a pang in his chest. He knew exactly what he was doing but this was necessary. He told her exactly what her father had said to her when she expressed her dreams to him. He thought she would distance herself from him if he hurt her enough.
He felt the bed creak and the dip disappeared suggesting she had stood up. “I am worried about you, Touya! That doesn’t have anything to do with the facility.” He could hear the waver in her voice and the way her voice broke slightly but he needed to hit the final blow. “I didn’t ask you to come and give me one of your pep talks.” His jaw was clenched and his eyes were squinted as pain spread over his chest. He didn’t dare turn his head to look her way because he knew that if he did, the burning in his eyes would convert to blood seeping out from his eyes.
“What has gotten in to you?! I am only trying to he-” once more he cut her off before she could finish her sentence. “Do I look fucking helpless to you?!” He couldn’t help himself as he sat up violently and turning towards her. He glared at her. “If you think you can fix me like one of your patients then get the fuck out of here. I don’t ever want to see your face again. Go play doctor at your facility.” And that was the final blow.
He saw how red her face was. Tears daring to spill from her big expressive eyes, hurt clear in them. Her brows were scrunched up and her lower lip was quivering. He saw the way her hands were clenched in fists beside her as she trembled. He was counting the seconds, waiting for her to walk away because he didn’t know how much longer he could hold up this façade.
“Fuck you.” Her voice was low, shaky and he could tell it was hard for her to speak right now. He watched her turn around and walk away. He let out a shaky breath as his shoulders fell. He stared at his lap as he felt warm liquid sliding down his cheeks and staining the shirt red. He grabbed his head in both his hands as he hunched over. His whole body was trembling and the pain radiated from his chest to the rest of his body, reaching even his fingertips. He kept telling himself that this was necessary and he was just protecting her.
He is the last person she should be wasting her time on. She still has wings and she should fly while she has the chance. He is bound to burn her wings away if she stays with him. That was the last thing he wanted. After-all, he only knew how to burn everything around him, including himself. He could never be a butterfly with big colourful wings soaring in the sky. That was never his destiny. He was a butterfly with no wings and he lived among the thorns of beautiful radiant flowers. No matter how much he dreams of flying, he would never be able to. Once the wings of a butterfly are burnt, they don’t ever grow back. He didn’t want her to hold herself because of him. He knew how bad it was to live among thorns and he would never wish for her to live a life like that. Ever.
