Gold goes to the nearest cliff– AKA, his usual ‘quiet spot’– to reflect on his thoughts about Bug.

However, he didn’t get to say a proper goodbye to anyone that day. Well, except for the cliff.

Gold stepped out from within the treeline, looking in the direction of the cliff. It was one he knew well– not only because he came here often, to have a bit of time to himself, but because it was also where Pyrare had thrown Barracuda to his ‘death’…

And he swore up and down on his LIFE it wasn’t because of that. He wasn’t that bitter about Barracuda and Dub causing The Pink Corruption. Yeah, he’d been one of the Heroes that were more directly affected by it (being Rust hurt. If you somehow needed more evidence that Heroes are not at all supposed to be Corrupted, Gold would definitely be the best guy to ask about that one.), but that didn’t mean he held a grudge.

…Much of a grudge, anyway.

He knew it wasn’t Dub’s fault. It was his Corruption.

But, just–

Fuck, man.

Any time Annihilation was even referenced in any conversation, Gold couldn’t help but RUN. And even now, even after he and Dub had ‘made up’ (thanks, Tsavorite), Gold didn’t have the ability to keep himself within 15 feet of Dub without either Pyrare or Barracuda (or both) being in the room as well…

Anyways–

Gold stepped towards the cliff, staring out at the sky beyond it.

That wasn’t what he came here to think about.

…Bug was missing.

It was… Almost a little concerning to him.

Him, of all people!

Gold wasn’t sure why exactly he was worried about her. He hated her! She hated him! It was a mutual hate!

So why did he care?!

…It was because the other Heroes cared. And he cared about them. That was the ONLY reason.

Oh. Who was he kidding?

Gold huffed to himself quietly, sitting down on the edge of the cliff.

He wouldn’t be able to convince himself with that for long. He needed a different reason…

No fuckin’ way was he going to ADMIT that he thought they deserved better. They had been replaced by him, known nothing but pure negativity for almost their whole life, Orchid had died just as they were getting attached to her, and now they were missing. But he didn’t think that they deserved better.

Well– he did think that. They DID deserve to not have gone through all of that. But– that wasn’t the reason he was worried! He just–

Ugh.

Word hard.

Gold huffed again, moving to place his head in his hands– when, suddenly, something struck him in the side. Hard. He yelped, catching himself before he could tumble off the edge of the cliff. He could have just floated to catch himself if he did happen to fall off, but still. That’d be pretty terrifying either way.

He looked down at his side immediately after, noticing… Oh, boy. There was a bit of blood dripping down his side now. Ow. Yeah, that hurts.

Then, something else caught his eye. A rock on the ground next to him, its more-pointed end now with a bit of his blood on it.

…Yeah. From how hard it impacted him, that was definitely thrown. With force.

Oh, shit.

Gold stood up quickly. He couldn’t even glance around before he was knocked off of his feet by a gray blur, falling forward. “ACK–!”

He jumped up and prepared to fight. He’d won against Flint once or twice, he could handle thi—!

Then… He noticed it.

“BUG–?!”

There was Bug. Glaring at Gold, watching him like a hawk as ae dashed over to the rock again and floated it up.

”You were supposed to fall.” Ae snapped.

Gold’s jaw dropped.

“I– what–?”

He wasn’t given a single response or a chance to say anything else before Bug jumped at him with the rock, aiming to bash it into his leg.

And, she succeeded. Gold had been taken off guard by Bug’s appearance out of the blue like that (c’mon, she’d been missing for weeks now!), and he cried out as the sharp end of the rock was stabbed into his leg.

Welp. He was gonna have to fight back.

“WAIT–!” He yelped, jumping back and away from the cliff while he dodged and tried get a hit in– however, Bug being so much smaller than him sure had disadvantages. (Or… ‘Advantages’, to Bug.)

She was swifter, a lot harder to get a hold on–

Finally, though, he successfully grabbed them.

He meant to restrain them, in hopes that he’d be able to go and find someone that could help… But that plan flew right out the window as Bug bit him, sinking their teeth into his hand.

Gold yelled in pain, dropping her out of pained instinct and stepping backwards. “OW!”

He wasn’t given time to process anything else before the blunter side of the rock was whammed straight into the side of his head, with enough force to cause him to stumble back.

Everything blurred.

He swore he could feel something warm running down the side of his head… Blood? Probably blood.

Right–?

God. Ow. His body ached.

Gold staggered slightly, dropping to one knee. He placed both of his hands on the ground… A desperate attempt to keep himself upright.

He could hear footsteps approaching him– it took a shit ton of effort to actually lift his head, but, when he did, he saw two gray figures approaching him. Wait– no. One. Two? No– no. Definitely just one. Yeah.

He blinked slowly, trying his best to look past the blur…

Damn it. He knew he was doing something. Right? Important. Wasn't it?!

Let him think, damn it!

And suddenly, he could see straight. Mostly. A lot was still unclear to him, though he could see a little gray octagon Hero standing above him.

Bug.

Oh.

Oh, shit.

RIGHT–

But before Gold could even attempt to start getting to his feet, Bug leaned down, staring him in his unfocused eyes.

Ae spoke.

“This is what you bastards get for taking my fucking existence from me before I could even have it.”

And then– Gold felt himself falling.

Huh…

He knew he should probably do something about that– but what?

He was tired…

Eh.

He’d do ‘something’ later.

oh they are fuckin ANGRY . that AND the way they realized that "SHIT. SHE KILLED HIM" was BECAUSE she burned down the fucking ToLs just mere DAYS after he was found.

they are ANGRY AND SAD and especially Tsavorite bc he is ALSO on the hunt for Bug alongside @/sleepless-tea's ocs after the ToLs get burnt (which scares ths SHIT out of the others but it is understandable bc like.. brother died..sister is a maniac..fuckig PARENT DIED..)

overall theyre just. really down in the dumps. for comparison: GOLD would be the one thats considered the most "bubbly" out of all of them with how tjey r right now

Shattered Body, but Not Sprit/SBNS: Tsavorite is killed by Cubic, and becomes a ghost. he cant remember how he died though. he comes across Barracuda and they find the group again- Orange denies Ghost Tsav's Existence™ until the very end. Barracuda is liked in this one /silly

The Snake Hero/TSH: Barracuda is revived, and goes off to convince Gold to Join The Corrupts™ using "we r brothers c'mon..dont u wanna know more abt ur brother 🥺🥺🥺" and Gold is convinced to become a traitor. he becomes besties with Ajaceare btw :3. Barracuda is NOT liked in this one /silly

Blood Orange/BO: Orange is like. fed up with Iris's shit.so he runs off and joins Dub, gets paired up with Ajaceare and George and starts stealing Tree pieces :333 this one was made like a day ago so i dont got much for it 💔

Forest Fire/FF: Bug's Supposed To Be Mom Figure™ fuckin died. so she snapped and murdered Gold, burned down the Trees of Life, attacked Orange and proceeded to get jumped by Flint, Steel, Granite, Quad (all Tea's ocs!!! hi Tea!!! :D) and Tsavorite
