Hello and welcome to @negrowhat's 15 Day BL Challenge! Full challenge can be found here.
Favorite Ship Dynamic: Sensitive Seme + Tortured Uke
I would like to thank @absolutebl for perfectly phrasing this dynamic in this post because it's an absolute favorite of mine. I love seeing someone who's been through the wringer finally get taken care of and loved by someone who adores them, I eat it up every single time.
To quote them directly, this dynamic consists of: An older sensitive sweetheart sunshine seme and a tortured dark scared tsundere uke.
Some of my favorite examples of this are:
King and Uea in Bed Friend

Runner Up: Black Cat + Golden Retriever
This dynamic is a very close second for me so I'm including it. It's just so fun. It brings me so much joy to see an aloof black cat of a person be loved to within an inch of their life by their golden retriever boyfriend who has zero chill about loving them.
As decided by y'all, the next bl-bracket is #1 Himbo! It's time for the favorite himbos to battle it out against each other!!! Now to make sure that we are on the same page here, this is the definition we will be using for "himbo":
Must be strong! (either noticeably physically strong or some in-canon recognition of their strength/physical ability)*
Must not be smart! (no book smarts! can be smart in terms of like emotional intelligence, but they are not at the top of their class in terms of grades!)
Must be kind! (characters must show off kindness in some way and not be mean generally speaking)
A character must possess all three qualities to be a true himbo! That's it! (well ofc all the other rules still apply)
SUBMIT YOUR HIMBOS HERE
Submissions close on May 9th at 7 PM GMT
*(ideally something a little more than just having some abs, since that seems par for the course ya know? like there's a whole conversation to be made about unhealthy body standards for men in the entertainment industry and how movie star abs aren't actually a sign of good physical shape (usually is the opposite) and much more etc etc so the presence of abs isn't necessarily a sign of strength if that's just the standard expected of male celebrities)
☆*:.。. Day 13: Give 5 good boys a gold star .。.:*☆
I love lists, so it's great. I am so bad at lists, so it's really hard too lol
- Suh Yechan from Love Tractor. Is there any better Good Boy than Certified Golden Retriever Boy Yechan?? I think not. He deserves at least two gold stars imo.
- Tian from To Sir, With Love. He’s just the goodest boy, never did anything bad in his life, love his family even when they barely deserve it, just wants to be respected and happy. 100/10 no notes.
- Woo Seunghyun from The New Employee. Absolute cinnamon roll, adorable, cute, never did anything wrong in his life, cheeks to die for, gold star for him. (may have to do in part with the actor, who also was a fantastically good - if terribly sad - boy in Once Again)
- Ichijo Sota from Zenra Meshi. He’ll forever be my favorite blade of tall grass, and despite sometimes being the most awkward man alive, he was also trying so hard to understand and make things right!! A good boy for sure.
- Ye Xingsi from History 4: Close to You. Sweetest man, loved his friend and his family so much, deserved so much better than the hand he was dealt in that show. Big gold star for him.
Thanks for the ask! For May/December I have to choose Lu Zhigang and Sun Boxiang from H3: Make Our Days Count. In BLs with a significant age gap, we usually see one of two dynamics: the older man has been living abstracted and avoidant of personal relationships and feelings until the younger one comes along and wakes him up (see Old Fashion Cupcake, Minato's Laundromat, H2: Right or Wrong), or the older man is badly scarred and wary until the younger man's persistence makes him dare to open up again (Moonlight Chicken and this pick.) Both versions can be great, but as a scarred and wary older gay myself, I'm especially partial to the second one. Boxiang smashes into Zhigang's life with teenage obstinacy and teenage lust, and most importantly with teenage hope. He not only brings Zhigang happiness in their love, his determined hopefulness leads to Zhigang's eventual reconciliation with his family. That's what it's all about.
Boy Next Door, to me, means an ordinary, unassuming, kind, and reliable person paired with someone who at first overlooks him as a possible love interest. I think there's often an implication that the other person is more popular, or a celebrity, or otherwise a bit elevated in some way. They may be surprised to realize the Boy Next Door's feelings for them, and they are certainly surprised to discover how much they rely on him. I had to think for a while to land on this, the best example of Boy Next Door I've seen in BL: Su Ye Chan of Love Tractor. Just look at him! He's perfect.
An old threshing machine! This would’ve separated wheat grain from the rest of the straw. You can see it’s powered here by this old fordson tractor, and you can also see in the background the huge rain cloud that completely drenched everyone five minutes after I took the photo!
Okay, so I'm currently watching Step by Step (SO GOOD!), La Pluie (also great), Be My Favourite (begrudgingly good), and Love Tractor (CUTE!).
I'm thinking of catching up with Home School and Loneliness Society (because I love my gmmtv actors it seems regardless if they're in qls or not) but
WHAT ELSE IS ON AT THE MOMENT AND WHERE?
(Please don't recommend anything on Gaga since I still haven't got a subscription there...nor anything I can only get grey (dramacool, kissasian etc) - I just don't go there.)
