Good Source for Trans Monkey King Headcanon
While Sun Wukong is not historically or canonically transgender, I wholeheartedly support anyone with a headcanon portraying him as such. A great example of spiritual gender transition from Buddhist scripture that could serve as a basis for your headcanon is the “Dragon Girl” (Longnu, 龍女) from chapter 12 of the Lotus Sutra (Miaofa lianhua jing, 妙法蓮華經; a.k.a. Fahua jing, 法華經, c. 3rd-century).
She is first introduced to an assembly of Buddhist deities as the eight-year old daughter of the Dragon King Sāgara (Suojieluo longwang, 娑竭羅龍王) and one of an unfathomable number of dragonfolk enlightened by the Bodhisattva Mañjuśrī’s (Wenshu shili, 文殊師利) lessons on the Lotus Sutra. Her teacher describes her as a great student prodigy with a deep knowledge of Buddhist Law, as well as having many advanced spiritual achievements. But this upsets some among the assembly because the notion of a young girl approaching Buddhahood so quickly flies in the face of convention, which normally calls for untold aeons of severe austerities before one can achieve awakening. Her accomplishments are called into question at first, but everyone is appeased when she offers a priceless jewel to the Buddha, and he quickly accepts it as a symbolic gesture. Then:
The girl said [to the assembly], “Employ your supernatural powers and watch me attain Buddhahood. It will be even quicker than that!” At that time the members of the assembly all saw the dragon girl in the space of an instant change into a man (emphasis added) and carry out all the practices of a bodhisattva, immediately proceeding to the spotless World of the south, taking a seat on a jeweled lotus, and attaining impartial and correct enlightenment. With the thirty-two features and the eighty characteristics [of a Buddha], he expounded the wonderful Law for all living beings everywhere in the ten directions (Watson, 1993, p. 188).

Ever seen the Ice Age movie, where there a baby was born and how the papa would freak out each time a false contraction hit and make false labor alarms? I'd imagine SWK to be something similar xp
Like in the third film? Def.
Neither Wukong nor Macaque know what pregnancy is *supposed* to feel like. Even with shared symptoms, they honestly don't know whats normal indigestion vs labor.
Eventually the noodle gang gets so annoyed by all the false alarms that they make them attend proper pre-natal classes. It helps a lot. The biggest benefit was meeting the Long/Dragon couple, who were also having their first baby and needed friends.
Also SWK would def try to make a code word like Manny does in Ice Age 3.
SWK: "How about "peaches"?" Macaque: "Why? I already call you that." SWK: "I dunno. I love peaches. They're soft, fuzzy, and round like you!" Macaque, teasingly: "Round?" SWK *realises that he might be one wrong word from entering Diyu*: "Ah. You're right. We'll workshop the code word."
Later when the time actually comes, both are too dense/occupied with something Big (spoiler territory) to pay attention to it.
Macaque: "Hey, peaches?" SWK: "yea?" Macaque, clearly in pain: ( ͠° ͟ʖ ͡°) SWK: "...OH. I just felt that, my bad. We gotta get home." Tang: *faints from stress*

love fanart that has Macaque and/or sun Wukong with top scars cause like-
Who cut them off?
Do you expect me to believe they’ve gone to a doctor in modern day?
Did they do it themselves?
Why have top surgery at all when you have the ability to use glamours/shapeshift?
why show off your top surgery scars and none of your others?
If Sun Wukong can grow back his head wouldn’t the boobs come back to?
does he have to cut them off every morning cause they grow back each night
is that why he can’t hide the scars? Cause they are fresh?

First time parents - happy family au
First | last | next
Macaque and Wukong love their baby so much but being a parent can be hard and they still have some stuff to figure out.
Read on ao3
Macaque watches in awe as the little cub with a coat of black fluff grabs little fistfuls of Wukong’s fur while yawning, satisfied now he knows his baba is right there. He still can’t quite believe that this adorable creature is half him but the almost black fur and four colour ears make it quite obvious that this is his son.
“Xiaotiān… our little heaven… I’m surprised your baba didn’t slap my arm for practically naming you after him but… I feel like he deserves it, don’t you?” He whispers quietly and gets a tiny grumble from his son who flattens his ears against his head while peaking open an eye to glare at his papa. Macaque wants to laugh but controls himself because he remembers how painful sound was when he was little and instead starts to put up a sound barrier around the room. Xiaotian sighs in relief before getting comfortable again on his sleeping baba’s chest; Wukong doesn’t even acknowledge the movement considering he clocked out the moment he knew everyone was safe.
Macaque sits at Wukong’s bedside and watches over him and their baby as they both rest peacefully until Xiaotian gets hungry. Xiaotian grumbles as his eyes blink open and look around the room before starting to sob which hurts his ears as he tries to flatten them against his head again and cries harder, “oh, oh no! It’s okay little buddy, just tell your papa what’s wrong” he coos while picking up Xiaotian to cradle him but the cub just continues to sob. Macaque is starting to panic when he hears Wukong’s tired voice mumble “give him here.”
Wukong has his arms held out towards Macaque to take their baby as Macaque awkwardly passes them over before pulling up his shirt making Macaque whip his head away; out of the corner of his eye Wukong catches the reaction and chuckles before urging his baby to latch, “you know you helped make him… you don’t have to turn away.” Macaque laughs nervously and glances at Wukong before mumbling “I feel like I’m imposing on Xiaotian’s meal.” That makes Wukong burst out laughing until Xiaotian starts fussing, trying to tell his baba to stop, “oh I’m sorry kiddo… though now that I think about it Xiaotian is kinda long… oooh why don’t we call him monkie kid, Mk for short!” Macaque is stone face as he turns to Wukong and says “absolutely not.”
Sadly though Mk catches on and even Macaque starts calling him Mk after a while which makes Wukong look all smug. Macaque also tries to hide his face when Wukong decides the way they’re going to introduce their baby to the troop is to do a lion king. He stands on top of the waterfall and holds out Mk for the monkeys below to see, all of them staring up in awe.
The monkeys all swarm around Wukong afterwards to see the new baby and the mothers have to keep the excited little ones back so they don’t pull on MK’s tail or arms. Meanwhile Mk just clings to his baba and occasionally reaches out a hand to wrap it around a mother’s but if one of them tries to take Mk they get a harsh push from Wukong (nothing too hard but it’s a clear warning) because he knows they’ll try to steal Mk if they get the chance. Macaque distracts the youngsters and keeps the dads back so Wukong doesn’t have to deal with all of the troop but he can only deal with so many tugs to his ears and after chirping to Wukong for help as he gets dog piled by the babies the meeting is called short.
They walk back up to the stone mansion with their tails intertwined as Mk clings to Wukong’s back; his tail cautiously wrapping around Wukong’s to keep himself in place. Wukong was fine with walking in silence but something nags at Macaque, “what… what happened to the demon monkeys?” Macaque feels bad for bringing it up when he sees Wukong tense before looking down, his eyes watering over and shining with sadness that makes Macaque’s heart ache, as he mumbles “honestly… I don’t know… I got back from the journey and almost all of them were gone… I was told many had died and the ones that hadn’t left…” he pauses for a moment like he’s trying to collect himself before continuing “Ba was the last and ended up dying in my arms from old age.” Slowly Macaque reaches out and holds Wukong’s hand, giving it a squeeze, in hopes of grounding Wukong before saying “I’m so sorry, peaches… being alone and dealing with that must have been hard” which gets him a shrug from Wukong. However, Mk notices his baba is sad and starts chirping for him and Wukong seems to perk up when he gently gets Mk off his back, instead cradling him in their arms.
Macaque drops the topic because he doesn’t want to push Wukong and both parents try to focus on Mk. Though they didn’t predict just how hard parenting was going to be. Macaque is almost at his breaking point when for the fifth night in a row he’s rudely awoken by Mk sobbing.
Macaque jolts awake and groggily looks around the room before spotting the tiny bassinet on the other side of the bed right next to Wukong because he wanted Mk close while he was asleep. It’s dark and Macaque can barely see Mk waving his little hands in the air trying to find his parents or the lump in the blankets where Wukong was. He’s a little shocked that Wukong hasn’t woken up yet because Mk was screaming his head off at this point, it was so loud it felt like it was going to burst his ear drums. Gently, Macaque leaned over Wukong, he couldn’t see his face at first because Wukong was on his side facing the bassinet, but he’s shocked to see Wukong just staring at Mk.
Frozen in shock, Macaque just looks at Wukong and is about to ask Wukong what’s wrong when his husband jumps out of bed. Macaque practically had to dodge him to avoid being head butted before looking at Wukong in confusion as he takes Mk out of the bassinet and starts to rock him. When that doesn’t work he climbs back into bed and puts Mk on his chest with two of his ears pressed over where his heart is. Slowly, Mk starts to calm down as he lets out little chirps of pain (crying that loudly must have hurt his ears).
None of that was the thing that confused or worried Macaque; instead it was the fact that Wukong did all of it with a stone cold expression but Macaque hopes that was just because he was sleep deprived. However, he’s not to sure how to explain away the glare of hatred he saw Wukong give Mk when he leaned over him.
Macaque ends up taking Mk from Wukong so he can sleep that night. Wukong smiles at Macaque, the first kind one he’d seen that night, before passing Mk over while giving Macaque a little peck then rolling over to get some sleep.
Macaque goes outside with Mk to get some fresh air because sitting in his bedroom with Wukong just felt like he was being choked. He loves Wukong and knows he’d never hurt Mk… but he’s seen him get like this before; it leads to fights and objects being thrown, mostly at Macaque, and he’s just scared Mk might get caught in the crossfire.
He sighs in defeat before sitting down crossed-legged with Mk in his lap, right by the edge of the cliff where he and Wukong had spent so many evenings together. He staring down at Mk who’s wrapped up in a red blanket to keep him warm but his fur is still sticking up on it’s end as a reaction to the cold morning air, “ha… sorry kiddo, I guess you inherited my snow monkey fur” he whispers jokingly and the only answer he gets it’s a quite coo from Mk. Macaque looks up at the sky and watches as the dark sky filled with twinkling stars fades to a beautiful, vibrant orange as the sun comes over the horizon. The early morning rays of sun slowly fall over Macaque’s face as he closes his eyes to enjoy the warm feeling that gently brushes over his face; he can almost imagine it’s Wukong who’s cupping his face lovingly but the illusion is shattered the moment he opens his eyes.
He goes back into the house and carefully puts Mk in his bassinet. The cub makes some trills in complaint before grabbing the stuffed monkey Macaque nudges towards him and clings tightly. He’s quiet for the rest of the morning which Macaque is thankful for because he’s not a morning person and he really doesn’t want to be doing anything this early.
When he wakes up hours later Wukong and Mk are both gone which makes him panic, he tells himself that everything is fine even as he rushes through each room of the mansion looking for them both. It’s a relief when he finally finds Wukong feeding Mk in the kitchens as he snacks on a peach himself. Wukong chews on a chunk of peach as he watches Macaque slide down the doorframe like a boneless chicken before saying “why are you acting like a crazy person?”
Macaque tries to laugh off Wukong’s concerns but he’s sweating nervously as he walks over to sit next to Wukong on the little, L-shaped wooden bench they have in the corner of the kitchen with a table that they use instead of the huge dinning room. Wukong raises an eyebrow at him and keeps glaring at him no matter how many excuses Macaque tries to regurgitate, “ok ok ok, it’s just… last night you… the way you glared at Mk… it scared me and I know you can’t help it but when you get bad it feels like our entire relationship is being held by a string and it’s making me anxious!”
Wukong’s eyes go wide as he stares at Macaque who’s rubbing his arm up and down to try to self-comfort. Carefully, Wukong gets Mk to detach which makes the baby grumble in annoyance before pulling the side of his red kimono back up, he’d rather not have this conversation while breastfeeding. Then Wukong reaches out and takes Macaque’s hand while sliding closer, turning so he’s facing Macaque as he supports Mk with his other hand, “moonlight… I had no idea you felt like that way… I’m sorry that I bottle stuff up till it comes bursting out in more… destructive ways.” Macaque laughs waterly as tears well up in his eyes and Wukong gives him a sympathetic smile before continuing, “but I’m not going down that rabbit hole, I promise… I was kind of worried after I blew up at you last time while I was pregnant and decided to talk with PIF to see if she knew any other remedies for stuff like this… she suggested a brew of some herbs and so far they’ve been working pretty well!”
Macaque looks at Wukong suspiciously, he’s happy but can’t shake the feeling that Wukong’s keeping something from him, “but… last night you were looking at Mk like you hated him and… I don’t want you to resent our son.”
Wukong moves his hand from Macaque’s to gently rest it on his cheek as he leans closer to Macaque, “I don’t hate or resent our son, I’ve never loved someone more… sorry honey” he mumbles the last part and once again gets Macaque to chuckle, “I’m just recovering from growing a baby demon inside me for 9 months then having to push them out of me… I mean I am so sore like everywhere; from breastfeeding, carrying him around, and down there hasn’t gotten that much better… I don’t even want to talk about what I have to do when going to the bathroom!… So, yeah… when I wake up at one in the morning to a screaming baby I get a little angry but I would never hate our baby.”
Mk looks at his parents, very confused at what’s going on and why they aren’t paying attention to him, he chirps while trying to climb up his baba who coos at him and kisses his forehead making Mk giggle happily. Macaque watches the interaction with little hearts in his eyes before asking nervously “so you’re better? Maybe not physically but.. you know what I mean.”
Wukong hesitates for a second and looks off to the side to avoid eye contact but Macaque leans forward and kisses his cheek making him look back before shaking his head, “I’m probably still going to have those days where I can’t get up and the hormones from giving birth still make me go kind of crazy but… I’m doing okay and I don’t want you to feel like you have to walk on eggshells, if you’re nervous.” Macaque nods and smiles as he feels like a weight has been lifted off his shoulders before leaning forwards for another kiss which makes Wukong chuckle.
They end up moving Mk into his nursery and into the crib Wukong lovingly made and this time instead of a blank space in the centre of the vines there’s a rough carving of Xiaotian because Macaque wasn’t going to let Wukong carve Mk. However, it’s a little messy and he was kind of worried Wukong would hate it but when Wukong sees it he gave Macaque a lot of kisses, “it’s like we worked on it together now.” Wukong was a little nervous not to have Mk in the room with them while they slept but it ends up being for the best because in his first night in the nursery Mk sleeps through the entire night; Macaque jokes that Wukong made a comfy bed for him and that’s why their baby slept through the night.
It’s wonderful for the two parents to be getting full night sleeps again and with the new energy they feel like they can actually start to try and teach their baby things. They have an on going bet about what MK’s first word is going to be; Wukong wants it to be baba and Macaque wants it to be dada or papa. Wukong doesn’t take the competition too seriously just trying to coax’s Mk into saying baba whenever Macaque is around just to annoy him a little bit but Macaque has decided this is a challenge against his honour and their son’s first word will be dad!
However, so far Mk looks like he has no interest in talking; the baby won’t even crawl which Macaque says is because Wukong carries him everywhere, “he’s a baby monkey! He needs me!” Macaque rolls his eyes but he’s not any better, completely wrapped around the tiny cub’s finger.
One day Macaque had been keeping Mk up just a little bit past his bed time trying t to get him to say dada, “come on kiddo, just da-da for me… can you say da-da?” Mk looks up at his dada before huffing and trying to curl up into a ball to go to bed, “let our son sleep!” Wukong groans as he walks into the living room before taking Mk from Macaque, “now I’m going to put him to bed… do you want to join me?”
Macaque follows Wukong while grumbling that Mk was just about to say dada as Wukong nods along to humour him.
Gently Wukong puts Mk into the crib and leans over the railing to move the stuffed monkey plush over to him so he has something to cling to throughout the night before stepping back and putting a gently barrier around the crib. It keeps Mk warm throughout the night so they don’t have to give him a blanket he’ll probably hate and Wukong makes it look like there’s stars above him which Mk stares at in awe the first time.
Once they were certain Mk had settled for the night both parents creeped out of the room before turning and smiling at each other. Macaque slides over to Wukong before putting his hands on his waist to drag Wukong close till he was bracing himself against Macaque’s chest, “why look at that… MK’s asleep and it’s a little early to be going to bed… perhaps we could have some fun of our own?” Wukong chuckles until Macaque cuts him off by kissing him passionately and after Wukong got over his surprise he happily trialed up his hands across Macaque’s chest before wrapping them around his neck.
Macaque starts backing Wukong clumsily down the hall towards their room which makes Wukong come back to reality before gently pushing Macaque back, getting a disappointed wimped from the fearsome shadow demon, “I’m sorry moonlight but I don’t think I’m healed enough for us to be doing that.” Wukong can practically see a light bulb go off above his head before he says “we don’t necessarily have to do that there’s… other stuff.” Wukong opens and closes his mouth like a fish before mumbling “that might work… just as long as we don’t get carried away” and Wukong starts to lean towards Macaque making the demon smile from ear to ear, “that works for me!” He joyfully says before sweeping Wukong off his feet and rushing him towards their bedroom even as Wukong whacks his shoulder and tells him not to do that so suddenly.

Ok but i once read that there could be a possibility of wukong being a female because humans at the time of jttw couldn't tell if a macaque was a female or not + translations could have accidentally changed his gender
so everyone assumed wukong was a male because of his ruined voice making it seem more masculine and because of the fact he fought and he was good at it.
Now i have a new reason to do trans wukong.

Rated: G
Pairing: Solar Dawn (Sky Lark/Sun Wukong/Yang Xiao Long)
Word Count: ~2k
A/N: Day five: healing @rwbyrarepairweek ; security breach au, animatronic Sky
Not every kid likes Sky. A small portion actually hates him, though he is supposed to be a jester and not a clown and Yang had thought the clown-fear thing was mostly myth. That was before she started working for Scarlatina Entertainment as a technician. Yang rubs the back of her hand against her forehead, smearing grease. "Alright, can you move your fingers?"
Sky raises his left arm, the bare brown metal glints slightly under the lights of her workshop under the Pizzaplex, and flexes his fingers. They move without so much as a creak and he smiles. "Fixed."
"Thankfully. Now on to the second one," Yang says. "Can you turn for me?"
Sky nods and turns around to straddle the chair, draping the already fixed arm over the back. He drops his head to rest on it, too. "I still can't believe those brats managed to hurt both arms before a parent got to them."
"Neither can I." Yang clicks her tongue. If Ruby or her did that, they would've been grounded for weeks. Not that either of them would've ever done it. Even as kids they were both way into robotics.
Actually, thinking about it, if they were young enough they might have tried some pretty stupid stuff to try and see how it worked. Yang still remembers all the pens and mechanical pencils she tore apart—a few of which were Weiss' that she ended up being unable to fix. There is a knock on the wall and Yang calls whoever it is in without turning from Sky's wires.
"I heard Sky got hurt again?" Sun asks as he walks into the room.
"Yeah," Sky and Yang sigh together.
"Have you sewn his sleeves?" Sun asks.
"Yeah." Yang vaguely gestures to where they sit on the table, next to the still open sewing kit. "Can you put it on him?"
Sun nods, knowing that while she can't see it, she would know he did anyway. "So did you scare them or were they just bastards?"
"Bastards." Sky sighs. He holds his arm up so Sun can attach the sleeve to his forearm. "Preteens."
The cloth is long and flowing; it attached to under the metal at the joint between the animatronic's upper and lower arm and Sun carefully feels along the seam to reattach it. His fingers flutter against Sky's metal and wires. It doesn't hurt, but it does tickle, and while Sky tries to stop he can't help squirming.
Yang clicks her tongue. "Babe, stay still."
"Sun is tickling me," Sky giggles, the noises bubbling up.
"Sorry." Sun removes his fingers and sits on the table in a clear area. Cloth hangs loosely from the spots Sun didn't get to. "I'll finish after you're done, Yang."
"Thanks," Yang hums. "And sorry, too, I forgot how ticklish he is there."
"So did I for a few moments," Sky says. He lays his arm in his lap, the action making a hollow ting sound. It's easy to forget he's ticklish even like this. "Are you almost done?"
"About. I need to go slower with your arms, I don't want to hurt the wires so your fingers malfunction," Yang says and smiles at the panel she's messing in. "You need those to flip off Cardin."
Sky hums. "I do, so I guess I can sit here patiently for a little longer, if Sun entertains me." He glances up at his other boyfriend and Sun snorts. It's an ugly type of snort, it always is, but it also always makes Sky feel a little like he's overheating. He loves that snort.
"What do you want me to do?" Sun asks and Sky forcefully keeps himself from shrugging. Yang hums in appreciation.
"Anything. Yang's too focused to talk to me," Sky says.
"Then what if I…" Sun pulls three balls out of seemingly thin air, sliding off the table as he does, and Sky laughs. "juggle?"
"Isn't that supposed to be my thing?" Sky asks.
"You don't have a monopoly on juggling." Sun taps a finger against his beak.
"Alright." Sky rolls his eyes in mock annoyance. "Show me what you got."
"Cool." Sun smiles and it's just as sunny as his name. Sometimes Sky thinks Sun should've gotten the security jacket with the sun patches instead of the lightning bolts, but he likes that his security guard matches him. "I've been practicing this."
Sky shifts in the seat, not enough to disturb Yang but just enough to sit up. Sun throws all three balls up together and catches them before he starts truly juggling. As an animatronic, Sky is nearly an expert at juggling. It's one of the things that's just in his coding. He's literally built for agility, hand-eye-coordination, athletics. Anything a jester might need to physically entertain. Whether or not he was actually good at any of that stuff while he was human, he doesn't really remember, but he thinks he was. All that is to say, Sky loves watching this. The balls arc and spin, Sun moving with them and never missing a catch, even as he has to lean into the table for one. The movements speak of time, speak of hours, speak of passion. The way Sun smiles, bright and large and all laughter just without the sound, speaks of passion. Speaks of fun. Sometimes Sky fumbles a ball, but his body is really just code. It's wires and metal and made for errors like that to happen as statistically seldom as human error can achieve. And with Yang as the main technician– as his only technician– Sky rarely makes a physical error. Meanwhile Sun juggles without error because of practice. It is beautiful, though Sky knows neither of his human boyfriends would naturally think of it that way. But that's okay. Sky knows people see beauty in different things and he is more than okay with being the only person to look at Sun and see his forever messy hair, curls bouncing as he juggles, and know that it is beautiful.
A spark in his wires causes him to look over at Yang, who flushes and looks away from Sun and back at his arm, and Sky thinks happily that she does see it, too.
Sun juggles for a bit longer, and on the ball's last loop he throws each of them higher and ducks under them, mouth wide, and swallowing after all three falls so it looks as if he's eaten them. One of his arms is behind his back, and Sky knows it means he's simply caught them. Something he thinks is more impressive, because that means Sun caught all three without looking. With all three balls in his hand, Sun takes a bow. Since Yang has his right arm, he claps by hitting his thigh. His palm makes a soft ringing sound against the metal there, like a bell.
"I'm done," Yang says at that moment and rolls her chair away. She stands and stretches, her spine and elbows making a popping sound. Sky smiles and flexes the fingers of his right hand, rotating the wrist to make sure everything is working probably, though he knows it is. The only reason he checks is because he knows Yang wants him to.
"Thanks, Yang," Sky says.
"Anything for my girlfriend," Yang says, smiling cheekily as she adds, "Plus it's how I get a paycheck."
Sky puts a hand on his chest to gasp dramatically. "Is that all I am to you? A job?"
"No," Yang says, sudden seriousness belied by the way her lips are twitching upward again. "You're also an annoyance."
"How dare, good sir! Sun, do you see how our boyfriend treats me?" Sky bemoans, making Sun snort. If not for the weight difference, Sky would’ve leaned against Sun just to really sell it. Instead he tips backwards in the chair.
“She’s being terribly cruel,” Sun agrees and that gets Yang to break, laughter filling the room as they join in. it always feels good to be silly with them. Natural in a way that isn’t related to his job, though that is very natural, too. It’s just different. Sky waves his arm and the cloth moves in the air like a wave.
“Finish my sleeves for me?” Sky asks, batting his eyelashes. There is still humour in Sun’s smile as he takes the unattached cloth in his hands and continues to attach it to Sky’s arm while Sky tries his best to keep it still despite the tickling feeling, so he doesn’t pinch and hurt Sun’s fingers.
"You're so spoiled," Yang says, only half joking but fully fond and unrepentant as she is one of the two doing the spoiling, and bends down to kiss his forehead. Sky beams up at her.
"As I should be," he says with all the snottiness he can muster while smiling and being unintentionally tickled. It makes Yang snort. Sun purposely flutters his fingers at his wires and Sky gives a cut-off laugh, freezing up.
“Suuun,” Sky complains and Sun just smiles.
“Gimme your other arm?” Sun says. Sky sighs and holds up his other arm so Sun can connect the other sleeve.

Wukong, Gold Vision on: "Whoa! The soul is a boy!"
Macaque, who was just chilling and watching Monkey Cop: "...what?"
translated via google;
"I was thinking about LGBT headcanons and reincarnations? It must have been somewhat disconcerting to see the baby born with the body of a GIRL when Wukong saw that her soul was that of a BOY, it would be like the possible case of Pigsy, in addition to being a descendant of Zhu Bajie, he is his reincarnation, he reincarnated in a wrong body I started to see the deepest part of the au and that's what occurred to me"
Reincarnation is a tricky process. Sometimes it's focused and a Soul can go from Body A to Body A2 easily, but other times its completely random/wild like a dice roll. Theoretically there is no "wrong soul/body" since nobody's in charge of where a soul decides to inhabit.
I think a bunch of works deal with people being the reincarnations of their anecestors, so Pigsy having Zhu Bajie's soul could be considered totally normal.
To Wukong's gold vision; MK's soul looks vaguely masculine, but he's born afab. Mei is the same in reverse (feminine, but born amab). Meanwhile Red's soul would appear as both feminine and masculine. Accidental gender radar.
It was probably a little confusing for Shadowpeach for MK to come out afab, but they wouldn't force any gender roles onto their kids.
I headcanon both Wukong and Macaque as trans, so it really isn't a problem for them. Odds are Monkey yao raise their kids gender neutral since their level of sexual dimorphism is so low.
The second MK and/or Mei come out as trans, Wukong and Mac already got the "It's a Boy/Girl!" balloons ready.

He loved it too raah!! Also I was rewatching She-Ra and the Princesses of Power while drawing this lmaoo. Also sorry if I got the design wrong or anything I just. Was also watching a show and going off a reference image :3
