Hello! Know of any good Keroro Gunso fics? I don’t know much about the show but it looks cute

I myself haven't really looked around too much for fanfiction of KG, (mainly because... a lot of it is poorly formatted and I'm picky about that kinda thing.)

BUT there is one fic I absolutely must recommend and that is "Resonance" by Dani Dandelion on fanfiction.net. Allow me to ramble about it. <3

Basic summary is that the Keroro platoon gets stranded on an uncharted planet during a mission gone wrong. It's very.... survival-y? Suspenseful too, and shows off some character dynamics we don't see too often in the anime. A good choice if you want to see the platoon in serious mode (as opposed to the anime's more lighthearted, slice-of-life format).

It's well written, in character, properly formatted, and about 35k words long. I binge-read the entire thing in a day, if that's any indication on how i feel about it!

I will say that if semi-graphic descriptions of injury, medical stuff, or animal death gross you out, you might not like it very much. The fic is definitely more intense than canon. (Aliens WERE hurt in the making of this fic.)

Something less intense by Dani Dandelion is "Confidant" - a sickfic featuring Kururu and Mutsumi. If you like hurt/comfort and standoffish friendships, this one's a good fic.

And lastly, if you're new to the series, the setting of this fic is... honestly a deep cut... but "Major Defense" by Fortune_Maiden on ao3 is also one I like. It focuses on Garuru - a character you may or may not know? He's been assigned to protect a certain someone from an assassination threat. (It's Kururu. Again.) This fic is based off info from the "Keroro Land" card game and takes place before the events of the main series, back when Kururu was a kid.

I remember awhile ago I heard someone say you shouldn't make a character a certain race/sexuality/gender if you aren't going to do something with that, make a statement, show their struggles. At the time I understood it. That is part of their character, a part of who they are, use it to flesh them out.

I wholehearted disagree now. If you don't want to use your character to make a big social commentary, you don't have to. They can just be a character that happens to be X because the default is not and SHOULD NOT be white, straight, cisgender, male.

All this screaming about "forced diversity" is BS that just reinforces that implication. Communities and friend groups ARE diverse.

Representation is important and if you're taking characteristics off the table because you don't want to make a commentary, then all you're doing is removing any form of normalization and exposure is key to normalization.

not that it stopped you, whether it was stupidity or bravery you kept touching him, and honestly? as much as it bugged him in the start, now he looks forward to it

no one says anything, but he kind of looks like a dejected puppy when you pull away from him after being glued to him for more than ten minutes

like to say the two of you were warm is a stretch, but it just feels warm ya know?

and the only other times he’s really touched someone or been touched was to shove someone, throw their arm around them, and yank them along. small stuff ya know?

so when you suddenly just drop into his lap one day and cuddle into him? he’s absolutely shook

if others are around when you do this be prepared to get chewed out later, but first, he’s gotta stop blue screening and actually remember the two of you aren’t alone

later though? oh, he’s gonna complain that you can’t just do that with others around, there might be a tiny argument but once it’s settled he’ll tell you to do it again…

if there’s this much touching and contact as friends..what about if the two of you were dating??

when that day does hit, Jax..is vastly unprepared

cuddling and hand-holding get cranked up from a 5 to a 12, even in front of the others (honestly half of them saw this coming? if anything they were grateful the two of you stopped beating around the bush already. except Kinger, he still seems confused every time he sees it)

the back and shoulder rides don’t change much except there’s definitely a hand or two sliding further up the leg (thumb stroking over your ankle or calf) or directly on the ass—what don’t blame him for enjoying the squish

the thing that really makes the difference from friends to lovers? kissing

(well okay there’s verbal change but this is about physical contact, that’s a whole other can of worms he’s unprepared for)

Jax has kissed before—just not while here…and sure his teeth might make things a lil tricky but the two of you are very quick to learn how to work around that wink wink

now Jax actually likes taking a break from following the idiots around to just laze in his or your bed with you laying on him or limbs tangled and just kissing. doesn’t even have to be on the lips, face, hands, arms, man has no limits (he's eating this shit up)

man is not ready for those little laze dates when they turn into any form of heavy petting… let’s just say he’s absolute putty in your hand..

Me: I dunno how I feel about the Symbolism of Sith eyes becoming yellow, like, it’s really tricky for me to read a-character-becomes-Sith-but-are-still-good-actually fanfic when there’s such a blatant sign that the decision is a bad one. Piebald is my favorite so far, I don't think I'll change anything about her, she deserves more love and attention.

She was tricky, it took some thinking but I made it work, adding one more surrogate DNA to the one I planned to give her proper lungs and keeping her ability to camouflage.
