‘Help me hold on to you’
a/n: Part 2 to ‘One step closer, we’re gonna be alright’ I dont think its as good as part one, but I still think its cute enjoy!
Vash x Reader
Tumblr media
Meryl slams on the breaks with a shout, the movement forces you forward and awake. Vash’s arm shoots out catching you, you squeak out a quiet thanks as you settle back in the seat. Meryl shouts out a sorry, while everyone else grumbles about it. “Where’d you learn how to drive?” Wolfwood asks with a scoff, “Oh I’d like to see you do better!” Meryl shouts back
You laugh softly as the two continue to argue, a light chuckle beside you makes you glance over at Vash. Once you meet his blue eyes, he smiles at you and you blush hoping it's not noticeable. Your eyes widen, he’s not wearing his jacket which means. Turning your gaze downward, his red jacket sitting in your lap. Glancing back at Vash your words catch in your throat at the soft look he's giving you.
“Thank you.” you force the words out, hoping not to sound awkward you move to give his coat back, but his hands catch yours. “You looked cold, you can keep it for now.” your heart skips a beat and you think you forget to breathe. You just nod, pulling back slowly and laying the jacket out in your lap.
The car comes to an actual stop this time, it looks like you’ve finally arrived in some town. It was early morning, the suns barely peeking above the dunes. Vash leans over and opens your car door for you, blushing and nearly falling out of the car you thank him. Still gripping his jacket, you turn to give it to him, but Wolfwood gets his attention.
Well now, what are you supposed to do? Well, it's cold and you don't think he’ll mind as you slip the jacket on. It is still warm, and it smells just like him you smile to yourself. Rolling up the selves, you move to get your pack from the back Meryl is there and she raises a brow at you looking up and down. “He said I could borrow it!” you say jumping to your own defense, Meryl smirks at you, “I didn't even say anything.”
Blushing you snatch your pack from her hands, as she laughs. “Relax, I'm only teasing. Let's join the others, I'm sure they are waiting for us.” Meryl grabs you by the wrist and drags you into the inn's lobby. You spot Roberto speaking to the innkeeper, Wolfwood is nowhere in sight so he's probably having a smoke and then Vash is standing with the luggage.
He turns to greet the two of you, but you can see his eyes go a little wide when he looks at you. Meryl laughs softly dropping your wrist and joining Roberto's side, as you step closer to Vash. You blush when his gaze looks you up and down, he opens his mouth to speak but nothing comes out instead he places his hand over his mouth and you see him blush.
Your heart begins to race, you’ve never seen Vash look so flustered, and because of you? God this is too much, you begin to slip the jacket off a shoulder to give it back to him. Before you can Vash’s hands shoot out and grab you by the collar of his jacket pulling the sleeves back up, “You can wear it I don't mind.” he says this with a slight stutter, the two of you stare at each other both blushing until someone snaps their finger in front of Vash’s face.
It's Wolfwood and he's got a big grin on his face, you frown and Vash drops his arms so they hang back at his side. Wolfwood tosses something to which you catch, and hold up it's a key. “That’s the key to your guy's room.” Oh, wait. Your eyes widen as you look at Wolfwood, his grin only widens. “What?” you squeak out, hearing Vash ask the same question.
Wolfwood snatches the key out of your hands and holds it up between you and Vash, “The key to the room you are sharing.” he says it slowly, his tone playful. “The two of you were too busy making eyes at each other to discuss the rooming situation.” You reach up to snatch the key from him, but Wolfwood raises it higher. Vash can see you about to resort to violence so he snatches the key from Wolfwood instead. Vash grabs your wrist gently, and you feel your face flush. You were not going to survive the night.
Ignoring Wolfwoods loud laughter, Vash leads you away he's not saying anything but he also doesn’t let go of your wrist. Your heart is racing with each step bringing you towards the hotel room. Vash drops your wrist to unlock the door, and he opens it the door hinges sound impossibly loud. Vash lets you step into the room first and you let out a sigh of relief there are two beds (Lol you all thought). “Sorry about this.” confused by his sad tone, you turn to face Vash he is rubbing the back of his head nervously. “What do you have to be sorry about?” you ask carefully, he laughs you can tell it's not a real one.
“I’m sure you’d rather be sharing a room with someone else…” his voice trails off, and you frown did Vash not think you liked spending time with him or something? He looked so sad standing there, and so small without his coat. Feeling brave you step towards him you can't look him in the eye, but you can grab his flesh hand and give it a light squeeze. “Vash what made you think that?” you say it carefully, not wanting to scare him off, he makes a pained whine not looking at you either.
“You just don't seem very comfortable around me,” he says this with a sad chuckle
Oh
Of course, he would think that! It wasn't that you were uncomfortable around him it's just that you were so nervous, he was so sweet and kind, you loved his helpful nature and how he interacted with those around him, and he was just so handsome you couldn't bear to look at him for long. Hate seeing him so down on himself that you work up the courage to say your piece. “That’s not true! You make me nervous… but in a good way!” You drop his hand you grab the collar of his too-big jacket on you to hide your face in, “I just feel so flustered around you! And I feel like I'm just going to say or do something stupid.” You ramble, hoping to get your feelings across.
Vash laughs softly, “And here I thought I was just making a fool of myself.” he reaches for you, grabbing the lapels of his jacket, and pulls you to him, you let out a yelp when you collide with his chest. You can't see his face, but you can hear his heart beating wildly, “You make me nervous too.” you were going to faint, blushing bright red. One of his hands grasps your chin to turn it to look at him, his eyes are soft but have a playful tint to them. It makes your heart skip a beat.
“Am I making you nervous now?” oh what a little shit, he's teasing you and you hate how much it affects you. Your eyes drift over his face, not being able to meet his gaze and you watch him smile as your eyes settle on his lips. He chuckles and the noise makes you meet his eyes, “Yes.” you whine, this was all too much. Vash leans forward, and you close your eyes. He kisses your forehead gently a feather-like touch as he pulls back.
You force yourself to open your eyes to meet his gaze shyly, “Does this mean you like me?” you ask, Vash rubs the back of his head, and smiles sheepishly at you, “Yes, you like me too right.” He asks suddenly looking nervous, you want to laugh but you understand that Vash needs encouragement, “Yes, especially if you keep letting me borrow your coat.”
Vash wraps his arms around you carefully, you can see how excited he is but he still holding back. You know it’ll take both of you time to figure this whole thing out, but as nervous as you both were excited energy raced through your veins. You wrap your own arms around him, as he speaks softly “Deal.”

He’s so baby girl I swear- this is purely random Vash stuff
Vash never fails to make his affection known, whether platonic or otherwise, so it’s not so out of the ordinary for moments when he’s feeling a little mischievous and decided to sneak up on you -somehow with those heavy arse boots of his- and this can go one of two ways:
A) cage you with his arms and blow raspberries into your neck
Or
B) initiate a tickle war that utilises the town that you were temporarily staying at to act as an massive game hide and seek from the other person trying to tickle you.
It’s childish and stupid but you could never say no to someone with as someone with as big of an heart as Vash did. You swore he was too good for anybody even you but you don’t dare to say so within his presence as you didn’t wish to see his face full with dishearten. Ever. It didn’t look right on Vash.
Also after your ‘truces’ you spent the rest of your day with cheap but good as shit pizza and snuggles. (I’m so fucking lonely)
Speaking of snuggles, I’d like to think that Vash clings onto you very much like a koala bear in his sleep. Going so far as to whine when you manage to tangle yourself free from his stronghold; which only works out for you 50% of the time because there was nothing that brought you more peace then being in Vash’s arms.
They made you feel safe, protected, comforted and most of all, warm. The moment you were caged again this chest, in little to no time you were already drifting off to slumber land.
The same can be said for when Vash wished to be held against your chest. It quite comedic to see him cuddled up closely to you. His blonde hair tickling just under your chin but it was all worth to when hearing him sigh tiredly and nuzzled his head into the junction of your neck, his grip on your waist tightening briefly before relaxing as you run the fingers of one hand across his forearm whilst the other played with the tresses of his hair, nails barely scratching at his scalp.
You swore you heard him make the sound equivalent of a cats purr at the base of his throat.
You called him babygirl pretty boy once and the shocking amounts of shades of red he turned that day became the highlight of your life.
Dates with Vash would be so inexplicably…Vash and no that’s not a bad thing. Given the fact that he’s a wanted man with a sixty million bounty on his head, no place of work would take the risk and have him on board if they knew what’s good for them.
So instead of the stereotypical date night, you both would share the view of the starry night sky up on the rooftops with a scratchy blanket thrown over your shoulders. It was an perfectly imperfect date, much like the perfectly imperfect man sat next to you grinning ear to ear like an excited child.

The heat of the sun almost disappeared to you the moment the pastel chalks started producing a calming sound against your sketchbook’s paper. You didn’t know how much free time you were getting today. Or tomorrow, or any other day really. So a simple quick depiction of the landscape was the way to go.
The car had gotten too small for the five of you at a certain point of the journey, so the decision to get out of the vehicle and stretch your sore cramped limbs had probably been one of Wolfwood’s scarce good ideas. As the chalk scratched the paper, you lost track of everyone and didn’t really know where they had wandered off. It was only you and your sketchbook. A rich ocre for the base colour of the dunes, some light touches of beige for the highlights, and caramel and cinnamon for the shadows and definition. Your hand fluttered here and there, carefully placing the pigments over the parchment textured paper and creating solid images out of vague designs. Then, using your fingertips you smudged the chalk from rough to soft. You smiled in satisfaction. The dunes looked very nice, now time for the sky. Your hand reached for the sky blue chalk, but soon found out your were close to running out of that colour. A frown appeared on your face.
With a tired snarl, Wolfwood made a sudden appearance right by your side. He was so nonchalant that the noisy way he sat down snapped your thoughts away from the chalk in your hand.
“What’s up birdie? You’re running out of blue?”
“Unfortunately” an annoyed sigh left your lips, but you went ahead and tried not to use much of it. Surely you could finish the drawing and save up the rest until you could get your hands on more chalk?
“None of the other colours look like they’ll be used up any time soon. You use it too much, honestly” he yawned disinterestedly.
“ I can’t help it” your voice almost came up as a complaint.
“Is it your favourite?”
“Obviously”
“Not obvious at all.”
“Why would anyone not like blue?” you frowned again, this time in disbelief that anyone could ever not like blue, your hand stopping mid stroke.
Wolfwood was suddenly interested, he leaned a bit closer to you with a teasing smirk.
“I don’t know, why do you like it?”
Your eyes focused in front of you, where the sky was still bright. Vash, Meryl and Roberto were now gathered together directly in front of you both, lively talking about something you could not hear. You stared at Vash for a while, trying to gather your words and thoughts correctly. You thought about the way you couldn’t get your sight off his eyes sometimes, and how you had to remind yourself you were staring. Yes, the colour reminded you of the sky… but it also reminded you of those eyes…
“It feels… endless, infinite. Like it could drown you in it or you could get lost in it for hours and you’d love it, you’d never get enough of it. It’s just so full of brightness, it has so much to offer. It’s placid… and kind.”
Vash seemed to have lost interest in the conversation Meryl and Roberto were having, his beautiful eyes wandered off until they were placed on you. He offered you a sweet smile and a wave. You smiled and waved back.
“Wait, are you still talking about the colour or are you talking about someone else now?” his grin grew wider.
Startled, you cleared your throat and went back to your drawing.
“Don’t be ridiculous, i’m talking about the colour, obviously.”
“Yet again, not obvious at all.” he laughed as you hurried to finish the drawing. Maybe if you finished quickly you could escape his teasings.

Desert Nights Aren't So Bad In Your Arms.
vash the stampede x reader
no warnings, just hurt/comfort! reader is overwhelmed at the constant travel and vash comforts them
Tumblr media
The desert at night is cold. It's a common fact on Gunsmoke that once the suns set, everyone with a will to live should be at home with a fire going, keeping the cold outside and your family in.
So the fact you have to camp outside, in the middle of nowhere, with four others who love to bicker isn’t the easiest thing. If the cold doesn’t settle in your bones and make it hard to sleep, Meryl and Wolfwood squabbling over the fire would. You don’t know what they’re actually fighting about, other than it's nothing serious, and you don’t have the energy to care at the moment. You’re sitting on the side of the car that isn’t facing them, wrapped up in your coat and as many warm items you could find. Nothing was wrong, per say, but when travelling for so long in a place so bare and barren like the desert, people were bound to get tired. You were exhausted, bones and muscles aching after being sat in a car, squeezed between two men who were both strong and full of muscles to prove it. It left you with little space, and as close as you were to Vash and Wolfwood, sitting between them for hours on end quickly became too much.
Leant back against the car, you let out a quiet sigh and leant your head back. Despite the coldness, despite having absolutely no idea where you were, the sky at night was always something you loved. The desert at night was even better, with the only light being from the fire blazing behind you, it gave you ample opportunity to gaze at the stars and admire them. As you were focused on the stars above you, everyone else was getting ready to settle down for the night, settle down for sleep. Everyone apart from Vash, who had noticed that you weren’t with them, wanted to make sure you were okay. He cared for everyone in their group in their own ways, but he always had an incredibly big weak spot for you. Always looking out for you in the best ways he could, always keeping an eye on you even in the middle of a fight. So when you weren’t in your usual spot sitting beside him around the fire, he immediately noticed and immediately knew that something was up.
This concern for you is what led to Vash appearing from beside the car just as you had closed your eyes, the sudden appearance causing you to startle forward with a jolt. Vash quickly held one of his hands up in apology, the other holding a bowl of whatever they had made for dinner, a sheepish look on his face as he came to sit beside you, not too close as to give you your own space.
‘’Hey, I noticed you weren’t at dinner! I brought you some food just in case but, i get it if it's too much,’’ He offered you a wide but gentle smile, tilting his head as he looked you over. You didn’t look sick or injured, but that didn’t mean you were okay. Placing the bowl down on the floor between you, he shuffled slightly closer. He didn’t want to push his luck too much, but he always enjoyed being close to you, even if you were just sitting with him in silence. ‘’You okay?’’
The softness in his voice was almost too much for you, tears immediately coming to your eyes. You quickly attempted to wipe them away, but not quick enough for Vash to not notice. He quickly moved close enough to wrap his arms around you, pulling you into him so you could rest your weight on him.. When you were fully pulled into him, he gently ran his prosthetic hand up and down your arm in a comforting manner, his other arm just holding you against him.
‘’Hey, hey it’s okay… it’s okay, I'm here…’’
The affection in his touch and voice was overwhelming, and you were quick to let out a mutter that you were fine, you were sorry for this, that Vash shouldn’t have to see you like this. He was quick to brush your words off, his arms tightening around you. He wanted to be here with you when you weren’t okay. In a selfish way, he wanted to be the one to comfort you, the one you could always come to and lean on, but right now he was just happy that he could be there for you.
‘’Can you tell me what’s wrong, mayfly? You don’t have to, but you know i’ll always be here for you.’’ His voice was soft, quiet and gentle. With your head held against his chest, it was easy for him to almost whisper to you, and you felt all consumed by him. His touch and voice was overwhelming, and being so close that you could feel him all around you didn’t help. It was a difficult feeling, one of longing and yearning, and despite how much it was you could not complain.
‘’M’okay…’’ You muttered against him, closing your eyes and resting against where he was holding you. ‘’Today was just.. a lot. Nothing happened just..’’
‘’It’s okay, I get it! Sometimes things are just too much,’’ he offered a gentle smile and rested his cheek against the top of your head. ‘’You can let it all out, i’ve got you, mayfly.’’
Being held against him like this, his words so kind and caring, was somehow so comforting and so overwhelming at the same time. But you finally felt okay to cry, felt okay to sob into Vash’s chest and hold him as tightly as you could, your hands fisted the material on the back of his coat. Being this close to Vash was a great way to block out the rest of the world, to forget anything else apart from the two of you even existed, to hold him as close as you possibly could even with tears flowing down your face.
Vash held you as long as you needed to calm down, until quiet sobs turned into even quieter sniffles, until your grip on his back went weak and your body went slack against his. The entire time he was muttering gentle console to you, rocking back and forth in a comforting way. One of his hands was in your hair, gently running his fingers through the locks, and when you raised your head to look up at him, it moved to hold the back of your neck with a touch so gentle you could barely feel it. His voice was just as gentle when he spoke to you, quiet and with so much affection you felt like you could easily cry again.
‘’Are you okay? Do you… need anything?’’ The way he was always so kind, always so caring even when you’re upset for absolutely no reason, meant so much to you.
‘’No I'm… I'm okay. Thank you for being here,’’ you were surprised that Vash could even hear your voice, cracking and shaky from crying so hard, and under normal circumstances you would have been incredibly embarrassed about it. But Vash would never judge, would never care about that. ‘’Um.. C-can you stay with me, though?’’
Vash immediately gave you a smile so bright it made you flush, made a small smile come to your own face in return. He was always so warm, made even the coldest nights in the desert seem bearable, and his smile meant the world to you. He held you close, pressed his lips to the top of your head in a gentle kiss, and shuffled back to get cozy against the car with you. He would happily sleep here with you, even sleep with his back against the car and his neck crooked at an awkward angle, if it meant that you would be able to rest.
And as he fed you the leftover dinner and talked to you quietly, you genuinely felt as if tomorrow would be okay.

Vash Being Yours For a Few Weeks
Pairing: Vash the Stampede x Fem!Reader
Tags: fluff, temporary lovers, crushes, saying goodbye, angst, kissing, mentions of starting a family, implied sex
A/N: I'm going from place to place around Italy and I'm already tired so I can only imagine what it must have been like for Vash.
Tumblr media
Vash getting involved with you for those brief few weeks while he's in town was both the best and the worst time of your life
The best because you got to know the best guy a woman could ever want
Right off the bat Vash was polite, funny, caring, protective and on hell of a lover in bed, or really any lonely spot you found
Both of you knew he wasn't staying, he made as much clear before getting involved
As open as he was about the things he's seen while traveling he was just as secretive about his personal past, his arm and scars
You didn't pry, it would only make him closed off and you wanted him for as long as possible
He was eager to see as much of your little town as possible, meet all the people, try your favorites
He even momorized the streets and houses pretty well although deep down it was a survival instinct of his that drove him to do so
Made sure he had something to remember you by
Sadly he couldn't leave you with much, he is the most wanted man in the world after all
Did make a lot of memories with you kn those few weeks, all good, some funnier then others
Running while pulling his pants up while you wipe your mouth and tease him thst he shouldn't have tried to make it last, or laying in his chest feeling tired and full still and warmth seeping from between your thighs
You aren't worried about kids, he made jt clear that first night that he was unable to have them, it would bd bad if there were all the little versions of him running around after he left
If he ever did have a family of his own there are pleanty of kids to adopt once he stops running
Saying goodbye to him was hard but you knew he would't stay forever, he does promise to remember your name
Well he better after he'd been moaning and growling it for the past weeks
Should he ever pass through here again he'll come and visit, if you're still single you can have another fun few weeks

Imagine Vash Teaching You How To Shoot
Tumblr media
Vash the Stampede X FemReader
Rating: T
Warnings: Target practice
Word Count: 1k
(A/N:) I’m putting all my pew pew knowledge into this one! I’ve saw other fics with the same concept but I thought I’d give it a shot (heh heh pun not intended) myself as I had this idea a little over a week ago. I do have more than basic knowledge when it comes to target practice and I was very impressed with Trigun Stampede’s weapon usage and the .22 shell was an actual one. So bravo Orange for doing your homework! I’m impressed! Until next time happy reading! ~Countess
Also peeps be careful when it comes to any form of weaponry. Safety is key as accidents can happen. I have lots of experience and my dad made sure that I knew proper procedures and to take care of myself and others. One accident could be the last with any type or form of arms. So take caution and kids don’t go behind your parents back, that’s a no no just ask them. 9 times out of 10 they’ll answer your questions.
Vash was watching worms circle in the sun, lazily enjoying a much needed down moment until your voice broke the silence. You called his name cheerfully as you ran up to him, your arms full of discarded bottles.
“Vash,” you panted the bottles clacking together in your arms. “Will you teach me how to shoot?”
He seemed reluctant to at first but when he saw the excitement in your eyes he couldn’t refuse to teach you how.
“Sure,” he finally agreed and you shouted in victory.
It didn’t take long to set up the bottles on the ledge of a mountain. Vash didn’t want any stray bullets to go further than he could see. So the mountain would be the perfect containment zone for any mishaps. You danced in place as you were both excited and nervous. You always wanted some form of protection against any villains will ill intentions towards you and you just knew Vash would be the perfect teacher. He chuckled at your enthusiasm as he stood by your side.
“Ready,” he asked.
“Naturally,” you replied making him chuckle. Unholstering his .22 he handed it over muzzle facing downwards. You carefully took the grip, trying to remember how Vash held it. He mostly shot one handed at times, but you knew you weren’t quite ready for that. Seeing how you were lost on even holding it, Vash held out his hand and you placed it back into his palm.
“Hold it like this since you’re a beginner,” Vash spoke showing you the proper form. “This hand goes first with your index finger pressed against the side until you’re ready to pull the trigger and then you’re going to balance it with this hand. Make sure you keep your fingers from the hammer and the cylinder as you don’t want them to get pinched. That would hurt like you wouldn’t imagine.”
“Got it. Watch the hammer, hold it like so.”
Vash nodded handing the weapon back. You had more confidence this time as you held it just like he had shown. With a couple tweaks you were one step closer to actually shooting.
“Now what,” you asked ready to learn more.
“Make sure your rear sight and front sight are perfectly align. The front sight should be even with the rear. If the front sight is up farther than the rear you’ll shoot high. If it’s lower than the rear you’ll shoot low,” Vash started explaining. “Now when you’re ready to pull the trigger don’t use your whole finger, just your fingertip. If you use too much of your finger you’ll pull it off your target and cause it to move left or right. And don’t expect your shot, let it surprise you. That way you won’t pull off your target or flinch.”
“Man,” you grumbled, “this is complicated.”
Vash laughed, “Pistols are harder to shoot than rifles. You put rifles on your shoulder and you’re much steadier this you only have your hands and arms. Need me to explain again?”
“Make sure my sights are perfectly aligned, don’t use too much finger, and let it surprise me.”
“You’re a quick learner. But widen your stance and get down on it or you’ll be unsteady and if your arms get tired don’t drop it down pull it to your chest then thrust out when you’re ready to shoot.” Vash was getting into his element now as you were soaking every word up like a sponge. “I’ll teach you about how to walk steady too but let’s see if you can hit your target first.”
“Okay,” you breathed going over everything Vash just said. While aiming, your arms began to tremble from the awkward stance and the weight. You couldn’t imagine what a bigger caliber would feel like. Vash’s .22 was heavy enough on your arms. Trying to steady your wobbly aim as best as you could, you started to squeeze the trigger. The boom echoed across the desert but the bottles remained intact. You pouted looking back at your teacher.
“Try again,” he encouraged.
You tried again, the hammer hitting the primer and sending the shell out of the barrel. Only for your second shot to miss. This was becoming a lot harder than you expected and you felt bad for wasting Vash’s expensive ammo.
“This is harder than I thought,” you moaned.
“One more time you have six rounds in the chambers. Well four more since you’ve already shot twice.”
You steadied yourself pushing the pistol back out and aiming. Another round. Another miss. You were getting frustrated now, so much you didn’t hear Vash come up behind you. He moved your arms back out into the shooting position, his back pressed up against yours. His added steadiness had the pistol in a steady grip.
“Squeeze the grip as you pull the trigger. Don’t be in a hurry, quickness comes with experience. Take your time be steady and you won’t miss. You got this.”
His breath puffed against your cheek causing you to shiver. But with his added encouragement and him pressed up against you, you tried again. The pistol went off the bullet whizzing towards the bottles, in seconds one shattered instantly sending glittering shards through the air. You looked to Vash in bewilderment while he just smiled.
“Told you,” Vash raised his hand for a high-five. You didn’t hesitate your palm slapping against his.
“I think you did more than I actually did,” you answered though you wouldn’t let it sour your mood.
“Nah you’re awesome. But I think my teaching has earned me a reward.”
“Oh yeah?”
“How about you buy my next meal?”
You seemed to think about it while handing him back his pistol. He holstered it by his side swiftly and smoothly. He reminded you of all those cowboy stories you heard about as a child growing up.
“I think that’s fair,” you said knowing that he deserved more than just food. But Vash wouldn’t take it as he was too nice. But you looked forward to learning more from him. He was the perfect teacher and you wanted to know what all he had to offer.

You woke with a soft yawn, sleeping in the car wasn’t the best but sometimes it was your ragtag group's only option. You just didn’t remember the car window being so comfy and soft. Opening your eyes slowly, and glancing over your make a strangled noise of surprise.
Blushing brightly at the knowledge that you had been using Vash’s shoulder as a pillow, you pick your head up trying not to wake the man up in the process. God, you hate how he makes your heart race and he’s not even awake!
Luck wasn’t on your side as you watch Vash yawn, rubbing the sleep out of his eyes it forces him to push his glasses up and the whole movement is just too cute for your heart. He looks over at you, his eyes lighting up once he sees you awake. “Sleep well?” If it was anyone else you would figure he was teasing you, but since it was well Vash you know he was genuinely asking.
Looking away and out the window, you noticed the car was stopped and well it was just you and Vash. “Fine… where’s everyone else?” You ask trying to change the subject, God you can't even look at the man, hands fisted nervously in your lap.
You watch Vash out of the corner of your eye as he stretches taking up most of the back seat, you can't blame him it gets really cramped in here. “Stopped to stretch their legs and refill the car, I didn't want to wake you up.” He must have fallen asleep then as well or pretended to. Your hands go to your face, great so everyone else probably saw that too.
Before you can say anything, the door on your side is thrown open Wolfwood shoves you towards Vash and you crash into him, “Your hoggin the seat.” he says this with a smirk as he looks at you, glaring at him you kick him right in the shin and he lets out a little ‘hey!’ Wolfwood gets over it and laughs when your entire face turns red when Vash puts his hands on your shoulders to adjust you in the middle seat.
Giving Wolfwood the finger, you quietly thank Vash. The three of you settle in the back, while Meryl gets into the driver's seat, and Roberto in the passenger seat. The car starts and heads out into the dunes, it's still night and while you’d like to get more sleep you were too wired, sitting in between the two men. It's when you feel a shove, glaring at Wolfwood as he subtly shoves you into Vash, you know exactly what he's doing.
“Stop touching me.” You snap at him quietly, God the eavesdropping little shit was pissing you off! You wish you never admitted your crush on Vash to Meryl! You had no idea the Undertaker had been around the corner and he’d been harassing you ever since. You got so flustered around Vash that it was painful, and Wolfwood loved torturing you.
“I'm not.” He replies, as he shoves you more into Vash, you can hear Vash sigh beside you. Probably tired of the childish arguments, your shoulder presses into the blonde, but you're too annoyed to notice. “You're touching me right now!” “Am not” the argument continues, as the others in the car ignore the two of you too tired to really care.
You turn, your back pressing into Vash's side, and you bring your knees up and kick at Wolfwood, who just blocks your kicks yelling at you that you are cheating. How can you even cheat at whatever the hell this was?
“Why don't we switch.” Vash interrupts always the peacekeeper; he looks at you with a smile. And it makes you shut your mouth, “Great idea.” Wolfwood says with a chuckle, as Meryl sighs “We're not pulling over because the kids are fighting.” she glances at you through the review mirror you just stick your tongue out at her.
“Here just let me.” You let out a yelp as Wolfwood grabs your legs and pulls you towards him. He maneuvers you easily enough, you doubt you weigh anything to him with that gun he carries around. Yelling at him to let you go, he manages to very awkwardly scoop you into his arms. And with a very sharp turn, he throws you at Vash who lets out a startled yelp his arms shooting to catch you and make sure you don't hit your head on anything.
You ungracefully land right in Vash's lap, one of his hands behind your head to brace it and the other wrapping around your waist. He's telling Wolfwood off, but all you can do is stare at his pretty face as he argues with the other man. He really is so pretty, and oh he's looking right at you and talking… wait what is he saying. “What?” you practically squeak at him, his brows furrow, God this is probably the longest you’ve held eye contact with him!
“Are you alright?” He asks with concern in his eyes before you can answer Wolfwood does for you, “Oh they are more than alright now, and I'm sure extra comfy.” You get some satisfaction when you kick him right in the side and he gives a little ‘oof’ You let out a gasp when you feel Vash grip your waist with both his hands, he moves you so now you are sitting by the door and him in the middle.
You swear he gives you a light squeeze before letting go, you’re going to die of embarrassment! With a shy thanks, you have to look away when he gives you a gentle closed-eye smile. Leaning your face on the cool window, you beg for your blush to vanish. You don't know how much longer you can handle this crush on Vash, you can barely even look at the blonde and he was just way too sweet to you!
With a soft sigh, you close your eyes, you didn't know how long it would be till the next town and you need to calm your racing heart anyway. You are on the verge of falling asleep, when you feel something soft and warm drape over you, cracking your eyes open a bit to see what it is your heart skips a beat when you recognize Vash’s red coat.
Forcing your eyes close as you feel Vash shift beside you, his hands are light and quick as he adjusts the coat around you making sure you are covered. Comfy and feeling safe you fall asleep to Wolfwoods light scoff, and Vash shushing him.
a/n: Part 2? :3 aka an excuse for me to write another confession with Vash! only my favorite thing! Part 2 is up!

Here for the Nicholas Woflwood content!! I would love a request about the reader flustering Nicholas if you’re game
Oh I’m absolutely game. Also apologises for being silent for a bit in terms of writing; I’ve just had to get through some stuff at work which left all of us a lil tired/ fatigued afterwards.
Tumblr media
Nicholas had a tendency of getting under your skin with his teasing, his weird little nicknames that he’d come up for you and such but you have yet again failed to even get under his whilst trying to give him a taste of his own medicine.
You’ve tried everything;
You’ve called him popcorn lung
You’ve teased him about the massive cross-machine gun he always carried.
Mocked him for not wearing socks with his shoes and even if he were, why the fuck did he choose to wear ankle socks? Did he hate himself that much?
However you were always greeted with his cocky smirk, cigarette hanging loosely from his lips and his eyes twinkling mischievous from behind his shades, “you’re trying too hard sweetheart.” He would then playfully retort before patting your shoulder and going back to whatever he was doing beforehand. Leaving you a little perturbed and frustrated.
Fortunately for you, the opportune moment came when you, Vash, Meryl, Roberto and Nicholas were walking through a town you came across on your travels for a quick bite to eat and Meryl and Nicholas were having their usual -in Meryl’s case- one sided disputes. Why this was so fortunate for you was because during their dispute, Nicholas cockily decided to walk backwards with that handsome smile still plastered on his face as poor Meryl played well into his trap; Unaware of the fact that just up ahead was a staircase that would lead you into the lower areas of town.
“When will you ever admit that your wrong about something?” Meryl exclaimed.
“You make a great question little lady, but I don’t have an wander for that for I am never wrong.” Nicholas replied, lying through his teeth as he flicks away another cigarette bud at her way; watching in humour as she ducked before it could hit her before looking at him with a glare as she ranted at him about the dangers of flicking an cigarette bud. “Are you that careless of what you could’ve potential set aflame?!” The undertaker merely shrugged his shoulders in a nonchalant manner which didn’t make matters any better.
The closer and closer you got to the staircase the more devilish thoughts popped into your head about not wanting to warn Nicholas. You saw from the corner of your eye that Vash was about to open his mouth when you nudged him in the side as a mean to silence him. “Don’t.” You whispered and Vash only looked at you confused.
“Why? He’s going to hurt himself if he doesn’t.” The blonde asks.
“He’s not.” You replied shortly.
“How do you know that?” Vash asks again, not understanding where you were going with this.
“I’m going to fluster him.” You told him as though it was obvious but it seemed to the blonde that it didn’t. You sighed and only said, “just watch.”
Just as you about to descend the staircases, you did so that you were next to Nicholas which made him smirk when he caught sight of you standing so close, that he couldn’t help himself. “There’s all this space and yet you choose to stay close to me? I’m honoured but don’t you think it’s giving people the wrong idea-“ just about as he was finishing his sentence; Nicholas’ foot caught on the edge of the concrete staircase and was about to loose his footing when you swiftly moved to cradle the male against your chest.
“You were saying, Princess?” You asked as you watched as Vash, Meryl and Roberto stopped to look back at you both. Vash looked stunned whilst Meryl and Roberto looked smug. Nicholas on the other hand was an embarrassed and flustered mess within your arms. “Let go of me.” He utters, not wanting for you to see him so uncharacteristic. You hummed in thought before looking back at him, “if I did that then you’ll get hurt,” you then leaned closer to his face to whisper, “and I don’t want to see a single scratch on my pretty boy’s face.”
You swore that Nicholas nearly let out the equivalent of a whimper at your words as he looked away from you to swallow thickly. Speechless. You chuckled at this and helped him the rest of the way down the staircase where the rest were waiting for you.
“What was that?” Meryl asked you when she moved to your side as Roberto and Vash moved to Nicholas’ who hasn’t taken his gaze off of you. “Just payback for all the times he’s teased me.” You stated, winking at Nicholas and watching in amusement as he stood a little straighter and averted his eyes elsewhere.

You walked in the room curiously, eyeing the golden decor that complimented the cream color of the walls. You and your friends had managed to get rooms in a pretty fancy inn. Since it was a nice place it seemed like it was usually fully booked, and even though you did get a couple of rooms you still ended up having to share. After a heated game of rock paper scissors, Meryl won a room all for herself, Wolfwood had to share with Roberto and you were sharing with Vash.
The room was spacious, with a big comfortable looking bed, a big bathroom and a small kitchen. Vash closed the door when your eyes spotted a radio, neatly placed over a round dining table. You picked it up, searching for the on/off switch.
“What is it?” Vash curiously walked up behind you.
“Just a radio” turning it on, you changed stations for a while until a familiar melody filled the room “hey! I haven’t heard this song in a long time”
“Oh I know this song” Vash smiled and moved his head from left to right on beat, making you giggle.
You turned up the volume and placed the radio back in the table, singing along and joining Vash in a stupid little dance. Vash laughed and grabbed both of your hands, lifting them up and dancing with you. Soon your steps steered away from the table, and you found yourselves swaying all around the room. The blond sang along too, voices following the lyrics’ rhythm and only getting interrupted by laughter. He lifted one of your arms to twirl you around, the sound of his laugh filling the room. A wide smile appeared on your lips, and your eyes lingered on his face. The sound of his happiness was so pretty, and it was just as musical as the song coming from the radio. You hung your arms from his shoulders, completely mesmerized by his bliss, he wrapped his arms around your waist in the middle of innocent chuckles. The pulse on your veins quickened almost immediately, and the tempo of your heartbeat was suddenly faster than the melody leaving your lips. He made you feel like you were under a spell, he had you so captivated that for a moment you moved your hand without permission from your brain. You brushed his blond hair away from his pretty eyes and rested your palm on his cheek with adoration, your heart swelled in tenderness watching that sweet smile of his on his lips, the long lashes that adorned his blue orbs, and the soft and warm feeling of his clear skin on your fingertips. Sometimes you weren’t even sure if he was real, how could someone so infinitely kind and caring even exist? The way that Vash’s blue eyes widened snapped you out of your daydream, a blush spread through his cheeks. You didn’t move an inch, but you stared back into his eyes, scared that maybe you had crossed the boundaries of your friendship, that maybe he’d awkwardly push you away. But he didn’t, instead you felt his arms tighten a little around you. Vash’s gaze softened, leaning towards you just a little. You noticed he was breathing nervously through his mouth, his lashes moved downwards as he watched your lips. Lifting your chin up closer to him, your fingertips grazed the fuzzy sides of his undercut and then curled around his blond strands, heart drumming hopeful in your ears. You closed your eyes slowly, and next thing you felt were his soft lips kissing yours sweetly. You kissed back longingly, a relieved sigh escaping from your lungs. Cold metal fingertips traced your back soothingly, a sweet burning sensation of crave in your chest pumping your blood towards your face and flushing it with a tint of red similar to the color of his coat. Kissing Vash felt like finding water after months in the desert, and when he stopped and inhaled sharply your lips chased after his, wishing to indulge in his kiss once more.
“Vash…” his name fell from your mouth in a yearning whisper, and he complied to you almost immediately.
Vash held your chin before placing another kiss on your lips and his thumb caressed your cheek. Your shaky hands led your arms to hang from his neck as you forgot about everything around you, his name and his touch being the only thoughts in your head. When the kiss stopped you remained still with your eyes closed, feeling his warm breath tingle over your mouth before he smiled gently. With a sigh, Vash rested his forehead on yours and nuzzled against your nose, making you giggle. Vash chuckled too, and at last you noticed that the song you had been dancing to had finished a while ago.

Nicholas D Wolfwood X FemReader

Requested by @ceylon-morphe286
(A/N:) Sorry it took me a little while to get this finished. I wanted to sit down and write several times last week but alas life once again got in my way. Thank you for your patience and I am so pleased with finally getting this posted for you! Thank you so much again for your request I had a lot of fun writing this, it was something that made me think and try my best with! I hope you enjoy it! Until next time happy reading! ~Countess
As a traveler of time and universes, you had visited many places and many different times and you could honestly say you enjoyed every single one. But now this place that you found yourself called Noman’s Land was the worst place you decided. As it was most likely going to be your doom as the sun beat down upon your exhausted form. You had no water nor food and it was taking it’s toll on your body. The desert seemed to trail on forever and you just knew that you were not going to make it much further at all. You were beginning to give up, resolved to just rest and become worm food when you saw a shadow on the horizon. You chalked it up to a desert formed illusion. The shape of a man with a large cross in tow just had to be a cruel trick of your near impending death.
Nicholas D. Wolfwood couldn’t understand what brought him this way. He had been heading to the next town over when he had gotten turned around. It made him frustrated as it wasn’t like him to get turned around unless he meant to be. When he spotted a figure sprawled out in the sand, he couldn’t help to think that it was fate that brought him this way. You could barely speak once he got to your side but when he shared some of his water and gave you a little food, you perked up a little bit. He seemed to be skeptical as you explained how you got there and your powers. Until he started to think about how he was virtually unkillable and lugging around a machine gun no ordinary man should even be able to drag, so he just shrugged and continued to listen. Once you finished he helped you up.
“It’s a little hard to believe,” he said. “But who I am I to judge? You’re not going to make it on your own until your powers return.”
“If,” you interrupted. “I really don’t want to be stuck here but I can’t help but realistic either.”
“Guess it’s up to me to teach you the ropes. C’mon we need to get you somewhere safe before your worm chow.”
“Worms,” you shivered at the thought.
Nicholas grunted in acknowledgement, grinning wickedly as he knew he was going to have fun teasing you as well.
It didn’t take you long to realize after you met Nicholas D. Wolfwood that he was a man you didn’t cross and he was also a snot. He teased you constantly as you floundered, trying to find your place in this unknown world and how little you understood about survival. All you could was glare as you didn’t want him leaving you alone. Though it pained you to admit, you’d be dead ten times over if he hadn’t stepped in and rescued you. If it wasn’t creatures, it was people. If it wasn’t people, it was plants. You honestly felt like you couldn’t win for losing. You missed home greatly and Nicholas always listened closely as you told him of your home. He seemed amazed at first, but you could tell that even he had grown skeptical at whether you were telling the truth. But if he didn’t want to believe that’s okay. If he had been in your shoes in your timeline, you most likely wouldn’t believe him either as this whole place was just utter chaos with a side of insanity. You questioned your sanity a little bit, though you were glad that you met this weirdo of a Punisher. He had become your saving grace many times over, you just hoped that he thought the same of you. He was a great teacher as he showed you the ropes and taught you to defend yourself.
You found that the weeks you had been here had passed by quickly and you were growing wiser in the ways of treading across Noman’s Land. You found your own food, your sense of direction and finding places improved, and bandits found themselves at your mercy now. Nicholas could sit back and watch in pride as his new creation flourished in the harsh environment. When he thought about you leaving, he did grow sad. He enjoyed your company and it made his travels a little less lonely, and he begrudgingly admitted, safer. You grinned up at your mentor now friend, grinning widely as your skills grew better and better. Part of you hoped that you never returned home, though you couldn’t deny the homesickness deep inside. But if you could remain here with Nicholas, it didn’t seem so bad as you had grown attached. You hoped that maybe he had grown a little attached to you to. The little voice in your head finally spoke up and you knew that he did. It made you feel giddy that he cared enough to protect you, but it meant more that he taught you and made you a part of his world. Maybe Noman’s Land wasn’t so bad after all.
