Trope of the day is... realizing they've basically been in a relationship for a while now.

Perfect for that married couple in the friendgroup that isn't actually a couple yet. They often find out about it because more and more people act confused when they say they're not actually a couple. Even people they've known for years think they've been dating all along.

Whumptober #21

Trope of the day: “Don’t move.”

Whumpee doesn't understand why the team looks at them in horror. The pain hasn't even reached their brain yet, their body too full of adrenaline to realise what is going on. Only when their head feels dizzy, whumpee realises something is going on.

Something bad.

Almost as fast as they collapse to the floor, caretaker's by their side, the rest of the team following. Whumpee sees blood on caretaker's hands as they check their body and finally realises that it must be really bad. They hear the others talk, but their words don't make it to their brain.

A second ago, everything was fine, now whumpee has problems keeping their eyes open. "Eyes on me, kid," caretaker says with a stern voice, that kind of voice they only use when things are looking pretty rough. Whumpee wants to ask what is going on, their body in pain as they move their arms and try to gather strength.

“Don't move.” Caretaker's voice is low, but something doesn't seem right. Whumpee wants to protest, but a hand lands on their shoulder and squeezes it softly. “Don't move, kid. This will hurt.”

Trope of the day is the parent by accident. Somehow someone who didn't and maybe shouldn't have kids before, acquires a child or at least a younger person, who's just not leaving anymore. Suddenly they are responsible for some little idiot's well-being - and they're unexpectedly great at it.

Dick: You found her where?

Damian: In an alleyway

Dick: And now you're responsible for her?

Damian: Absolutely not, don't be absurd Grayson. I don't want kids and besides, she probably hates me anyhow. I am a trained assassin, heir to the bat and the demons head, Bruce Wayne's only biological child, and could kill her in two seconds. I could never care for a kid.

Dick: *raises eyebrow*

Damian: *making another pot of tea because she wanted a tea party and is wearing a tiara that she made herself for him*

Damian: what's that look for

Dick: You underestimate yourself little D

Damian: I have never underestimated myself

Dick: You...

Marinette: *comes running in from the living room where she's finished resetting the table so Dick could join them*

Marinette: DAMI!

Damian: *leans down and picks her up as she comes running at him, swirling her around once to make her giggle before setting her on his hip*

Damian: Yes little flower?

Mairnette: Ive finished setting the table! Now Dick can join us!

Dick: A seat just for me?

Marinette: Yeah!

Damian: Good job. How about you get those cookies out we made yesterday for Gra...Dick to try?

Marinette: Oh yes yes! *wiggles till Damian sets her down and goes running off*

Dick: You made cookies with her?

Damian: She enjoys baking

Dick: *smiles* Doesn't look like she hates you

Damian: *glances at him before setting his eyes back on the hot water he's pouring*

Damian: She will once she knows what I've done

Dick: You're past doesn't define you and clearly you have grown past it and better.

Damian: I can't keep her

Dick: Would you let me take her?

Damian: *hand immediately reaches for a knife nearby before he stops himself*

Damian: ...

Dick: You underestimate yourself

Damian: I...

Marinette: *runs in* FOUND THEM!

Damian: *clears his throat* Good job little one

Marinette: *presents the box proudly to Dick*

Dick: *opens to see slightly burnt cookies*

Dick: They look delicious, I'll save them to have with me tea

Marinette: *nods seriously* Dami makes the best tea

Dick: He does doesn't he?

Marinette: *nods excitedly* He's the best at everything

Dick: Is he now?

Marinette: Yeah!

Damian: Tea's ready

Marinette: YAY! *runs to the living room*

Damian: *walks past Dick holding tea pot*

Damian: I'm not what she needs

Dick: That's where you're wrong

Damian: ...

Dick: *walks past him to go sit with Mari*

Damian: *looks down at tea pot, looking at his reflection seeing the paper crown sitting delicately a top his head*

Damian: *whispers* I hope you're right...

Damian: *joins them for tea*

Honestly, it’s kinda obvious that enemies to lovers is THE best trope. Maybe not, but it’s definitely up there.

It’s also kind of obvious why it fits malec so well

Introduction

Hello to who this post reaches to! I am trying to find a base of writing my stories online but I don't know where to begin. I've been writing stories for years but I can't seem to find a good website to post on, nor do I have motivation. I would love to make some connections and acquaintances on Tumblr to start out. I also love reading. I love romantic comedy stories, but I also do enjoy a little bit of drama. I also do read some fan fiction, but not too much, but they are very enjoyable! My favorite trope is the fake dating trope and also the enemy to lovers trope.

Anyone have any suggestions for a good story under that type of theme? I would love to read any good stories!

I am currently working on a story that has been sitting in my Google docs for months now. It's about a lonely girl who is going through a tough time with her boyfriend in jail and having to pay for all of his bills while he's there. It leaves her stressed and financially lost. Then coincidentally, she meets a famous actor that is globally known, and there are some occurrences and situations where they are met to interact with each other.

I definitely have more of a detailed summary, but I wanted to get it by to anyone first. Please feel free to reach out and like I said, I'm open to any suggestions anyone has for me.

obsessed with characters being saved against their will. being knocked unconscious and carried away from a danger they won't stop trying to fight. being shoved through a portal somewhere far away and safe right before it closes. trying to self-sacrifice only to have the exact person they're trying to save swap their places at the last second. getting the only cure to the disease or curse bc the person administering it loves them too much to give it to anyone else, including themselves. being thrown to safety right as they had accepted dying. someone else they thought had gotten to safety running back to drag them out of danger. it's so fucking tasty

Trope of the day: “Let me see.”

When caretaker walks out of their bedroom to check where the noises come from, they are more than surprised to see whumpee in their office, sitting on the ground and rumaging through bandages.

Small drops and puddles of blood are on the floor, so caretaker snaps out of their sleepiness and hurry to whumpee's side, who tenses up when they see them.

"Sorry, I- I didn't want to wake you up," they mutter, their own eyes tired, but face pale from pain. Caretaker crouches down next to them and cocks their head.

"I'd prefer it, if you woke me up," they reassure them and nod at the arm whumpee has wrapped in makeshift bandages. “Let me see,” they say softly and patiently wait for whumpee to nod and stretch out their arm.

Caretaker won't ask where the injury comes from, it's enough that whumpee didn't flee when caretaker walked in. Small steps are better than none, they remind themself and sit down to take a better look.
