this piece is a depiction of what might have happened when Azriel asked Elain, “would you like me to show you the garden?” i have forever adored tpiola_’s Elriel piece commissioned by emilysbookishtales, and so for my first official Elriel commission i commissioned tpiola_ as well. every part of this artwork is flawless, and tpiola_ absolutely nailed their expressions: Az looking down at Elain like she hung the moon and Elain gazing happily at her garden, both of them just enjoying spending a quiet moment together.

Byler is endgame bc it's so obvious that there is no path Mike would rather take in life---nothing that could give him half as much purpose and fulfillment---as protecting Will, keeping him safe, and reminding him everyday that he's not a mistake. Mike wants to feel loved, he wants to feel needed, and it's so obvious that Will is his most important person and the person closest to him, who he wants beside him at all times. And some people really think that Michael "I think it'll be easier as a team" Wheeler would say "No thanks I'll pass" to WILL BYERS loving and needing him and wanting to spend the rest of his life with him??? Be so fr that's literally his God-given purpose for being on this earth lmao.

Azriel can smell the bond? Ramblings

Adding to this reply from @nikethestatue

- We know Nessian's bond didn't merge until Winter Solstice night when they fully accepted eo and slept together (they never had a snapping/ click moment). We know the only person who smelled it was Lanthys who was a death god.

- We also know that Feysand had a snapping bond but no one could smell it except Amren cause she was “other". The others finally were able to smell it after the bond became a living thing (2nd bond) and merged in ch 55 when Feyre rode him to erase the memory of Amarantha, they unleashed both of their powers and Feyre began to glow.

- We also know that Elain/Lucien have the same snapping moment/bond as Feysand so it is likely that no one can smell the bond since it's not accepted and they've had o physical intimate interactions.

- So it is strange that Azriel can smell the Elucien bond unless he's also connected to Elain in some way (2nd bond?). It’s clear the bond makes him ill or uncomfortable, so maybe it’s some sort of parasite making them both (Elain and Az) uncomfortable. Az never smelled Feysand’s bond so why can he smell Eluciens?

I saw this in a comment on Reddit & loved it so much that I just had to share it (with a few minor tweaks of my own)

Here's my thoughts on the necklace:

While it was tacky of Azriel to regift something (particularly a necklace) that he got for another woman.... he did so anonymously and just as a nice gesture. He didn't want to keep the necklace (which is understandable given it was a clear rejection on Elain part) and it showed that there was no real feelings attached to it, and more than likely no real feelings towards Elain as well given it was so easily regiftable.

I feel like the necklace was more so a metaphor Sarah used to show us the transition from Elain to Gwyn for Azriel, especially with how the bonus scene ends. I think that part is really important given what goes on there. He leaves the encounter with something sparking in his chest and an image comes to mind of Gwyn teal eyes lighting up upon receiving it. He then has to consciously erase the smile it brings to his face and he tucks that thought deep down where to glows quietly. A thing of secret, lovely beauty (which is ironically in the necklace description itself). He leaves that Clotho encounter thinking of another woman's eyes lighting up and it's joy that thought brings him, not negative feelings like how he had with his interaction with Elain.

This is why I think Sarah is going to keep Elain with Lucien and Gwyn is a new character that was introduced for Azriel. Because there was no need to include Gwyn and the transfer of the necklace if Elain wasn't going to end up with her mate, Lucien.

Gwyn was there at the end because she is Azriel true endgame. That's the true purpose of the bonus chapter and the necklace. It was to show and point us to Azriel true endgame. Not to set up a "forbidden romance" that would be the detriment to two characters, but to show us who would truly bring Azriel joy in the long run.

I'm sure people have said this before but that look on Simon's face when Wille yelled at his parents wasn't worry or hurt or shock. It was plain fear. He saw himself in the future being the one Wille is yelling at, he saw the anger in his eyes and he saw his dad. He saw himself in the same place his mother was in when Micke left them. Especially with what happened with Sara and his dad, he realized people don't change even if they try to. He didn't recognize Wille anymore, the caring person he fell in love with but he saw the angry alcoholic he might become.
