i love defending pete wentz against the mania haters who call him the music industry's mr krabs bc he sucks in other ways.
#if you seriously think mania as an album was trend chasing then you must love being wrong.#it performed well commercially and all but it also like. bombed critically and with fans enough that#it's like almost a cult classic now lol.#'oh but it's not that old' 'oh but it debuted number one' and barberella was a hit in england. psychic blast.#dubstep was already on its way out of the mainstream as a trend by the time 'young and menace' dropped.#plus calling the reggae/reggaeton influence trend chasing is just incorrect. please listen to black cards.#p2 both are reggae/ska fans and them (especially pete as a bipoc of jamaican descent) taking influence from it isn't any more#trend chasing than them taking influence from rnb or modern pop. also most ppl hating on the genre experimentation here#were just being racist about it. looking at melon tnd for calling it 'white boy reggae.' i'd say he was probably just being ignorant#but also burna boy is right fucking there. directly contributing to the song in question. so that was just racist.#like there are genuine digs i COULD see ppl making about mania's. like. production. but it decidedly wasn't a sellout moment#if fob has one. i'm a pretty firm believer in them having been soldout since they formed but that's me#bc i believe 'selling out' really doesn't have to be a bad thing.#they formed fob to be more 'approachable' and 'softer' than the hardcore scene. and that does mean to the mainstream music world.#which is the definition. SUPPOSEDLY. of selling out: trying to be more popular all of a sudden. making more radio#friendly music all of a sudden. which fob has always done pretty much lbr.#i wouldn't call all (a lot even) of their songs radio pop or radio friendly but like.#did ya'll forget it's called pop punk or.#pete wentz#fall out boy#ALSO. people putting the sole blame on pete bc he 'controls' their image/presence.... there are other guys in the band.#btw. like yes it's his baby but it's theirs too.#it's so funny how ppl love to act like he contributes nothing to fob musically but then when it's time to critique their#genre experimentation the blame tends to fall solely upon pete.#i wonder why that is! /sarcastic.#ppl love to both delegitimize him and villainize him at the same time and it's like. so funny.#bc on one hand there is truth to him sucking and being evil but most ppl go about it all the wrong ways.#he's not even mr krabs he's like. plankton. MAYBE.

JADE - "ANGEL OF MY DREAMS"
youtube
And single of ours...
[7.45]
Julian Axelrod: You never know when you'll hear the song that changes your life. It could come from a DJ, or an algorithm, or a girl group lifer who you could have sworn was the third most famous member of Fifth Harmony but was actually the first or second most notable member of Little Mix, depending on who you ask. I had no idea what Jade Thirlwall's debut single would sound like before I first pressed play, but even if you gave me 1000 guesses, I never would have landed on "Rina Sawayama doing Uffie over a Eurovision sample that curdles into the nastiest dubstep drop since the Obama administration." This isn't the first time an X Factor alum has stuffed a solo single with a million disparate elements to keep things interesting; it's not even the first time it's happened this year. But the magic of "Angel of My Dreams" is the way it extends that first-listen feeling to listens 2-500. Even though I know the song by heart, each individual section is so strong that I never expect the drop, or the rap verse, or the intro melody reprise at the end. (I didn't even notice the camera flash sound effects at the 2:07 mark until my third listen!) This could be the start of an all-time pop run, or it could be a fleeting moment of glory. I couldn't care less: When I'm listening to "Angel of My Dreams," I just want to live in each moment until it ends, then immediately live them all again. [10]
Harlan Talib Ockey: Girls Aloud doing nightcore “Bohemian Rhapsody”, except also emotionally brutal. We will watch your solo career with great interest. [7]
Dave Moore: How do you even write a pop melody like this these days? Nothing borrowed yet nothing new -- dozens of refreshes of WhoSampled yields nothing to alleviate my nagging sense that surely I've heard it before; my brain refuses to play a rousing game of earworm hunt like with Chappell Roan. It's a bit of a shame that the whole thing devolves into a K-pop-ish party-by-numbers muddle, but in the end she wins, is not in the bin, etc. [8]
Kat Stevens: If I don't win, I'm in the bin. Specifically, the bin on Deptford High Street opposite Perfect Fried Chicken. [8]
Iain Mew: Some of the joy "Angel of My Dreams" has brought is that it's 80% of the way to being a maximalist Rina Sawayama song, and yet is also a persistent enough UK hit to have re-entered the top ten in its fourth week. The range of possibilities looks newly widened. Jade brings some specific things to make it her own triumph too. It's not just leading off with something so ambitious and inventive, but that she is able to wear it so lightly and naturally, Harry Styles-style. It's even more impressive to do so with a song that appears to dig into bitter personal experience, centred around repetitions of IT'S NOT FAIR so resonant as to move from sulk to deep truth.  [9]
Nortey Dowuona: Jade Thirlwall apparently sees the chance to etch her name into stone, rather than make a safe, easy pitch that might simply be forgotten or regarded as nice. But there are many songs about the cruel and unusual punishment of daring to use one's talent and love to make random weirdos who wear unflattering V-necks a lot of money. Thus Mike Sabath, creator of the world-conquering "Escapism" (and, in a fun little twist, another Jade and Mike Joint as well as the second best Liam Payne song) starts us off with a wilting cry of desperation that has to be walloped by the heavy swing of the chorus, glittery synths sitting atop. The song zips into raspy bass and flimsy and flimsier kick/snare patterns from then on, slowly flattening you until you are nearly crushed. The heavy-handed swing of the first chorus sweeps back in to save you and bind you to it as it disappears, Jade's firm, fluttery soprano left hanging out on the ledge. It's almost as if JADE, unlike RAYE, is not begging to be set free -- she's begging to be let in. [6]
Jonathan Bradley: Cycling through three different song concepts in the first 35 seconds suggests not so much a desire to "do something crazy" as a struggle to hit on anything melodically memorable. It turns out that the slowed-down bass-heavy breakdown works, as does the twinkling fairy dance augmenting the chorus, but a lot of this mistakes attitude for tune -- the sort of B-grade effort that made Little Mix only intermittently worthwhile. See, for instance, Jade stretching out  "feels li-yi-yi-yi-yi-ke" and "spoli-yi-yi-yi-yi-ight" for no real purpose beyond filling time before the next switch up. [4]
Taylor Alatorre: The lack of concern for the cleanliness of the transitions make this feel like a promising storyboard in search of a director, or least someone to step in and say that a desire to be seen as daring and boundary-pushing does not equate to such, and can in fact expose the whole gambit. Most listeners should walk away with a favored segment to return to -- mine is the chrome-polished, push-to-start recitation of the title phrase -- but a quarterlife retrospective like this should feel more internally cohesive than a sitcom clip show. [5]
Ian Mathers: The classic "pick your battles. pick… pick fewer battles than that. put some battles back. that’s too many" tumblr post, now in song form! [7]
Mark Sinker: The idea was like a will o’the wisp or Capt.Fawcett’s Lost City of Z, a gleam, a flicker, a dangerous promise glimpsed across a clearing and through the trees -- and it was something like this (it was always hard to explain clearly). A manufactured alt-pop girlie gang, perfectly designed to win reality TV competitions because also able to fashion the drama of their rise -- and their internal ebbs and flows -- into quilted chart-prog rap-adjacent concept EPs and singles-length mini-musicals, like the Hamilton of the Sugababes. It’s there, always beckoning, just out of reach -- and the acts that pass through the glamour of it are always great, of course, very great, but they also always dissipate too fast, before they really land on the absolute thing itself. Perhaps that's the point; perhaps that's my doom.  [9]
Katherine St. Asaph: I am banned from time machines now because I abused my time-travel privileges to do frivolous shit, like posting this song to the Popjustice forums in 2007 and measuring the blast radius of Xenomaniac rapture. [9]

My personal take on Gaster's battle theme
(This being a personal take doesn't mean I believe this wholly to be true or it being a theory with evidences supporting it. This is made for fun. You can post your own takes as well!)
Tumblr media
(BONUS: My own take on the battle scenario. Gaster is depicted as Redacted here because it is his final form, just like Spamton in his NEO form).
Motifs:
Gaster's battle theme would be an arrangement of songs such as Freedom, ANOTHER HIM, Darkness Falls, and Don't Forget.
CORE / Another Medium / Patient could also be included. An arrangement of 'D.ogg' + Flashback and The ID from Earthbound: Halloween Hack could be used as the intro and outro respectively. The Legend + The Dark Truth could appear in certain segments, moreso if said segments are intense.
If Gaster in Deltarune is the same from Undertale, Once Upon a Time could be expected. Mus_smile (i.e. the garbage noise) and Giygas' Static sounds from Earthbound could appear occasionally at the background, emphasizing Gaster as a being beyond our comprension. Also, an arrangement of Penumbra Phantasm would be interesting to hear in different parts of the theme.
General (Title, Length, Genre):
As for the title, options like "AGAINST HIM", something referencing the devil, such as "BATTLE AGAINST THE DEVIL", or maybe a parallel to Don't Forget, something like "REMEMBER ALWAYS", could be suitable. If Gaster as a character is a reimagining of Halloween Hack's Dr. Andonuts, the title could be a nod to Dr. Andonuts' Rage (the original file name for Megalovania), for example, "WRATH OF THE BROKEN DOCTOR."
Alternatively, the title could be related to darkness, shadows, or Gaster's entry number seventeen as a whole.
The duration of the track would be around 6 minutes, as Gaster is related to the number six, making it Toby Fox's longest track in Deltarune (as of now if he will keep making music ranging up to 2-3 minutes in length. On a side-note relating to this, the full version of Penumbra Phantasm could be one minute longer but who knows?).
As for the genre, it could be dubstep, heavy metal, or even experimental, a play to the nature of Gaster's character as the former Royal Scientist.
That should be all from me.
Tl;dr. Gaster's battle theme is somewhat full of motifs and is very long in length.

Bio: Known as the Exo Hunter Crimson-9, he spent time with Cayde-6 on and off the field in order to learn his tricks and skills for the field. He usually sticks to the Hunter groups due to sharing more in common with them. From time to time he works with other classes when he's looking to make quick glimmer or resources for his purchases.
He enjoys music and food more than any exotic he's gathered.
Especially from a hole in the wall diner in the city run by an Exo and Awoken couple, known popularly as The Grease Bucket. They make the thickest, greasiest, and tastiest burgers and chili-cheese fries in the whole city.
As for Crim's taste in music, he has a collection that spreads down to the oldest traces of music, before the Traveler and Golden Age. He loves old school jazz, death metal, dubstep, and for his usual meditation sessions: Japanese Hot Spring Music.
Crimson-9 has a troubled past, involving the Red War and his time being lightless. Eventually his team ended up leaving him behind during a raid on the moon in the Hive sector. His only way to cope with the memory is his music, and meditation.
He hates Hive, with a seething passion. Anything that resembles the Hive, causes his mood to sour. Once he leapt onto a giant Hive Knight Boss and stabbed it in the head over and over till it fell, just because his team took too long to kill it.
The time he spent wandering the Hive zones after his fireteam abandoned him caused him to have nightmares of his time down there. Some nights it's just him being chased by cursed thrall, but the worst is when a curse of Hive decay slowly overtakes his body. He picks at and cracks off all the growing decay till he sees his face fall apart into a hideous ugly screaming thrall.
His likes:
The Grease Bucket
Modded MP4
Music
Pet Ginger Cat named Amber
Dancing
Meditation
Side Arms
Hand Cannons
Spending time with people
Drawing citizens of the Last City
Video Games
His Ship: Mayfly
Collecting every shader he can find
Collecting Gemstones
Collecting Sparrows and Skimmers.
His dislikes:
Hive
Bugs
Spicy and Bitter Stuff
Screams of Pain
Wasting Resources
Arc attacks
Raw Tomatoes
He had a strong silent type of demeanor, usually because he is listening to his music or focused on the battle. He'll open up if you offer food, a clone of your music for his collection, and his favorite drink at the Glimmer Glint Bar, which is a Sweet Wish Stasis, named after a famous Hunter who used Ahamkara-Stasis based weapons on their battles.
He had a secret nerdy when he's happy and philosophical side when he feels melancholy about the entire situation of the Earth.
If you talk to him about cats, music, food, weapons, or animals then he's ready to talk your ear off.
He's Pansexual, and a very tender lover. He knows which buttons to press, and loves seeing his partners reactions. From a cute moan to a squeal, it makes him feel warm when he hears his partner is being satisfied. If you treat him well, show some interest, and try to keep in contact often he'll stay loyal regardless of class or rank.
The only challenge you'll have when around him, is not dying from how critical Bun.3 gets when he's being himself.

feel like she did the lying for a better story like SO MUCH during the fearless/speak now era. love story has 5 different creation myths associated with it. she put the name of a boy in the liner notes of mine who it cannot possibly be about. girl just takes the truth and uses it as playdoh
GENUINELY like the love story stuff is insane. there’s also an insane amount of stories about how i knew you were trouble ended up with that production— like, it was definitely mostly a collaboration between taylor and shellback, but taylor will shift between like “i didn’t even know what dubstep was before that song” on one extreme and like “i wanted heavy bass and fast verses and a big drop for the chorus” which just, is dubstep. the exact details change every time she says it, i swear to god
on the toby front, i’m coming around more and more to it being about some random guy from college, and like we don’t know his name so he might’ve been named toby? either way taylor was in a silly goofy mood.

Upcoming Deltarune Merch
Hello! It's Nelnal, the character designer in charge of Sweet, Cap'n, K_K, and Tasque Manager in DELTARUNE Chapter 2. I can't contain my surprise at how quickly two years have passed since Chapter 2 released.
When DELTARUNE Chapter 1 was released, I was just one of the millions of fans of Toby's work. I still remember so clearly how completely dumbstruck I felt after receiving a work request from Toby…
I've been involved in a variety of design jobs, but the assignments I received for DELTARUNE were so much fun! It was the first time I've had work where, from the very moment I read the assignment, my mind became filled with ideas one after another. I was asked to draw a character based on a "boom box" theme, so I gave Toby three designs to choose from. (The truth is I made other designs too, but that's a secret.)
To my surprise, in the end he decided to use all three...! I was so delighted!
And so...I'm proud to announce that I was tasked with illustrating some new merch for this upbeat trio! Among the merch are some new stickers, so it'd be great if you could stick them on instruments, speakers, and other music-related gear and enjoy the sound together with them. More details will be announced later this month!
By the way, as a small side note, it seems like the trio's favorite musical genres are dubstep for Sweet, electro for K_K, and hip-hop for Cap'n.

How Edelgard is so unlikable and why she is a failure
At this point post Three Houses launch everyone with a brain recognises that Edelgard is nothing but a villain and a failure as a character. Despite what the Edelcultists say about Edelgard being the most popular character from Three Houses using her CYL "win" as evidence it was only because of bots that she managed to "win" but the factual truth is she is the most hated character in not only Three Houses but in the entirety of Fire Emblem history I mean she has single handedly created the worst discourse in FE history and it's her only legacy now which is just pathetic.
Now then onto what makes Edelgard very unlikable she started a pointless war in Houses and Hopes despite in Hopes having every opportunity to change Fodlan peacefully, lies about the Church, history and the missiles all to declare a pointless war against the Church, was wrong about the Church, commits genocide against a near extinct species of Dragon people, specist against Nabeteans, racist towards Petra and Brigid, works with the Agathians who are basically dubstep facists who have shown chaos, complicit in Jeralt's murder then wines and makes fun of Byleth who is in mourning, involved in Remire incident, force conscription and forced demonic beast transformation on ordinary citizens, arrogant to a fault, a horrible and incompetent leader, her reforms lead to nothing but another and same status quo, mocks Dimitri with King of Delusion, burns Bernie alive for little gain, sacrifices her citizens to be meat shields, Edelcultists and lastly kills countless people with no remorse.
Now onto Edelgard being a failure her route is the worst in houses hich has only one cutscene, it's the shortest route, all recruitable units have the worst character development and endings, has the worst dialogue in all of FE history, weaker than Claude and Dimitri, incompetent without the guidance of Byleth, no u, ideals and reforms just lead right back to the status quo so no matter the route Edelgard always loses, has the worst endings, no character development besides from one which is from Azure Gleam in the second half, fails at diplomacy loses to Dimitri in that scene, most hated character in FE and lastly has the emotions and attitude of a sociopath and physcopath put together.
In my opinion Edelgard was better of still locked up underneath Enbarr heck replace Edelgard with Kronya at least with Kronya she has a personality.
