Summer and autumn in Port Valentine.

Happy to say that the world is 95% done. It still needs some fixes. but those are esthetic and not functional (okay, I might need to redo the public pool because the existing one sucks)

I did have some issues with it and that delayed its completion, because it got me so frustrated that I had to put this project aside for a while. One issue was duplicated NPC in the LN apartments. Turns out it was my game and not the world itself causing the issue (it also duplicated NPCs in my legacy save-> same sim, same name, same role/s. Annihilated one of them with Nraas and the other one vanished too 🔽 ).

I’ll make a separate post for the second issue, because there’s a lot to say (it’s about broken footprints).

Anyway, I’ve been testing PV for a bit and it’s so refreshing playing with the unmodded version of the game. I had forgotten some of the behaviors sims display in some circumstances 😄 😁

Sims appear to love the nightlife in Port Valentine. Found them everywhere (clubs and bars that were tagged by the game as hotspots, that is). In all saves I’ve been controlling only one sim. The rest of them just like to partaaayy!  🤩 🥳

And...

These sims are actually a population I drafted for this world because it was off-putting loading an empty city-themed world. It took me 3 whole days to create 17 households. Add to that a day and a half for the flyover....Yeah, sometimes I question my own sanity too...

I feel like there should be even more sims in this world since I also included some celebrities, but it’s a medium world after all so 17 households should suffice. Appaloosa Plains has the same number of families.

Oh, and sorry for my absence/lack of posts but I’ve been sick and had to see a handful of doctors. They were all telling me the same thing but none of them managed to completely treat me. Now I’m almost there, but even healing it’s a process so I’ve got to be patient, I guess  🤔 😉

Right, I also might have lost all my downloaded CC, saves, series, etc. since I had them on a external HDD. Found someone who’s been able to fix his, but I haven’t had any luck so far. I wish external hard disks would come with a built-in system that alerts us to make a backup a few days before they’re done for (as long as the manufacturers can’t make them last more than a couple of years, that is)

My sim living it up in the city...

...aaaaand getting pregnant in the process (from messing around with  Nraas Woohooer ‘s “risky woohoo” option). The baby’s daddy didn't want anything to do with the child, but he’s still pining for the mom -judging by the amount of calls, letters and presents he keeps sending. Yet Nraas SP took care to make him fall for my sim’s best friend and propose to that one in less than a week; and right after my sim had his baby, no less. We've kept inviting him to hang out and to all the parties we held, he still didn’t approach the baby. He doesn’t even have the Commitment Issues or Dislikes Children traits. He’s just a jerk, I suppose. To make matters worse, the next guy on my sim’s list (and who has been a sweetheart with the baby from the beginning) has been coupled with the baby’s grandmother (the jerk’s mom). Of course my sim had to break them up and get the guy for herself. C’mon, he’s a young adult and she’s an elder. We were practically forced to meddle. Now the grandmother hates my sim’s guts  😂

*for the record, the second guy and the grandma didn’t get to do the deed (yuck!). I sent my sim after him the moment I got the notification. Those two weren’t even together when SP decided to make them a thing.

I don’t know what’s wrong with my SP. I’ve been playing with these settings for years and never had this amount of drama in my saves. I’m using the same settings in a save in Appaloosa Plains and everything is fine there. 

But in PV everyone keeps cheating on each other. My sim’s best friend has 5 additional flirts despite being engaged to the baby’s daddy. A married couple with kids (age child) have separated and the dad has moved out. There are fights almost every night because sims keep catching each other cheating. Apparently, elders can get it on with younger sims and don’t respect the restriction I placed on their caste. 

But there are also nice romantic situations. A couple that starts of as boyfriend and girlfriend has tied the knot and they are so sweet. They come and leave together when I’m inviting them to parties and they only dance together. My only conclusion would be that either SP is acting up or the combination of traits I’ve given to the majority of these sims really messes them up. I might have to go over this population one more time.

This might be the most colorful interior I have ever created in TS3. There’s a reason for that (and for the mismatched patterns) 😳

All the other builds now look dull in comparison 😅

Working on a new world because I felt inspired. Inspired by the city I’m living in, that is. 

Almost everything here is created by yours truly - the dam, retaining walls, tunnel, bridges, floating waterslide - and I think I’m going to share these things with other creators (they’re only available in CAW), but after I reach the testing point. As you can see there’s still a long way until that moment. I need to work on some more CC so it’s going to be a time-consuming project.

Oh, the name of the world is Port Valentine (I don’t think there’s another one with this name for TS3 around, so I’m calling it 😁) and it’s going to be a city themed world, but also have forest/wild areas. I’m kinda clueless when it comes to working with LN type of buildings, because of the NPCs, but I’ll see about that as I’m testing it.

This part of recoloring is done...unless I get other ideas. I think they turned out quite easy on the eye and fit the overall clean look of Port Valentine. 

I have to say this one is the most complex layout I created. I wasn’t sure it works with the city theme, but it’s growing on me. It does have its own charm. especially since it’s partially inspired by a RL place. Oh, I may have had to bulldoze all the lots and clean up the global layer in order to redo the roads. but it was so worth the effort...:D

Aaaand I added a houseboat just to test it with my idea of having them docked like below. The only annoying things is that the port has a high probability to look like crap. Any suggestions about “beautifying” it are welcome :)
